yes yes yes gatekeeping is bad and transition shouldn't require multiple expensive letters from therapists stating Oh Yes I Diagnose You with Trans, but man, it is nice to be able to work through gender things with someone who's paid to not be uncomfortable or offended or triggered by my thoughts & feelings about my own body & identity & life experiences, which is a whole hell of a lot more than I can say for any trans peer support spaces I've ever encountered
