“I love that you’re being so clingy today, chibi~”

“Shut up. I’m freezing my ass off,” Chuuya snapped back, snuggling in closer to his partner despite himself. “And you’re warm. That’s it.”

“Aww, really? Here I thought you loved me.” Dazai let out a forlorn sigh even as he wrapped his arms around the redhead and pulled him in closer.

The two of them were snuggling under a large blanket on the couch, Chuuya sitting in Dazai’s lap and wrapped around him like a koala. Despite being the one to have the blanket actually on him, he was still shivering. The recent cold snap outside had caused some power outages in the city, and lucky them, their place was in one of the sections that lost power. Chuuya usually didn’t mind inclement weather, but right now it was hitting him hard, making him less combative than normal.

Hence his sitting in Dazai’s lap right now. And snuggling against his chest. And soaking in his warmth as much as he could.

Dazai couldn’t say that he minded.

“You look adorable, all pouty like that,” the brunette teased gently, kissing his cheek. “You know, there are some other ways we could keep warm, if you’re interested~”

Chuuya blushed, but covered it up by keeping his head firmly tucked under Dazai’s chin and growling, “I don’t want to move.”

“We don’t have to,” Dazai purred into his ear.

The redhead let out an annoyed huff, then grabbed onto the detective’s sides underneath their blankety cocoon and squeezed.

Dazai yelped, but to his credit, he never let go of Chuuya, even as the smaller man began scribbling and scratching at his sides and torso, making him giggle helplessly in his trapped position. “Chuhuhuhuhuuya…”

“I don’t know what ideas you were having when you said we could keep warm in other ways,” the mafioso teased, knowing full well what Dazai had meant, “but this is where my mind went.”

“Chihihihihihibi wahahahahants to plahahahahay, does he?” Dazai snickered, holding him closer and burying his face in his long red hair. “Fihihihihihihine by mehehehehehe.”

Chuuya tsked. “You would like this, you moron.” But his words had no bite to them, and it really was making it even warmer under the blanket.

By the time the power came back on, neither of them felt like they needed a heater anymore.

the best part of the simon and hecubus bits is that hecubus seems to actually be a demon of some kind, with actual powers, and he chooses to be the manservant of a two-bit hypnotist who's not even good at his job and gets genuine glee out of doing the shows

#not to mention that simon has to know because we see him actually push him into the floor one time #and is still comfortable pushing him around because he knows hecubus wouldn't actually hurt him back #like considering we actually see hecubus go into the ground to escape a bar tab and that when simon pushes #him into the floor during the date sketch with bruce and it's all flame lighting under him #hecubus might've actually introduced himself as a spawn of satan because that's who he is #and simon incorporated it into the act #also that hecubus is genuinely enthralled with simon's version of “evil” and seems to more or less share it #it's so cute i love it #and the fact that hecubus defers to simon and doesn't seem to think what he does is lame or anything #like that's his version of evil too #it's so sweet i love it #the kids in the hall #sir simon milligan #manservant hecubus #dave foley #kevin mcdonald #simon milligan #hecubus

Seriously, I love analyzing these guys so much. If you ever want headcanons for any of them or anything they do in the series, send them my way.

BEFORE

Oralie enlisted the help of Bronte and Terik to give Sophie Kenric's cache, which mostly just involved Bronte yelling at the others long enough to give her time to slip away.

The others were a bit suspicious of her but decided to give her space after what happened with Kenric

When it was discovered that Sophie and the gang were missing, the distrust among the Council began to grow even more.

Some of them (Alina) wondered if Oralie had something to do with it, but that was unthinkable. How could one Councillor betray the others like this?

They began to wonder what the Black Swan would be up to...

And suddenly it became very, very clear.

They wanted Prentice back.

So they set up a trap- they knew the Black Swan would be desperate to get back the person who'd risked everything for their cause, and they were willing to go to whatever lengths to do it

Oralie, Bronte, and Terik argued that they should be releasing Prentice anyway now that Sophie can heal minds, but the others reminded them of the fact that Sophie's creation had been, in fact, an illegal project

(No one noticed the way Oralie flinched every time that was brought up)

Bronte and Oralie began having more private conversations than ever before- they wanted to trust Terik, but weren't entirely sure whether they could.

They agreed to go to Exile with the others so they could try to protect Sophie and her friends.

They were a team now, now that Kenric was gone, and they had to act like it.

AFTER

The others were absolutely outraged at Oralie's betrayal

Especially when she emphasized that she'd honored Kenric's last request

Alina crossed a bunch of different lines when she criticized Oralie for putting her dead boyfriend over her coworkers and her career

The others kind of went quiet but didn't disagree

Oralie probably would have said something she would have regretted if Bronte hadn't stepped in

He pointed out that their world was much too unstable for another election, so she couldn't be removed from the Council.

Alina and some others argued that this was too big an incident to let go, but eventually, they begrudgingly put the safety of their people over the instability among the Councillors.

They told Oralie that one more strike would get her kicked off of the Council, but for now, she'd be under surveillance

They hired several more guards just to watch her and monitor her activities as she oversaw Lord Cassius's investigation

(The guards were like... seriously? This is the "dangerous person" whom we've been hired to watch?)

They didn't actually ask Terik to monitor her conversation with Sophie. He simply insisted on being there, but they knew they had to come up with an excuse because Sophie was hesitant to trust any Councillor besides Oralie and Bronte.

(On another note, Terik is really suspicious to me... I could elaborate on that if anyone's interested)

When Oralie fixed Exillium and brought all the flaws in the system to their attention, their anger against her began to cool down

But they noticed how she was growing different from before. She was no longer the sweet, passive Empath hiding in the shadows of the other Councillors.

Kenric's death had given her a fire (haha lol get it) that she'd never possessed before, a desire to make things right.

She began to speak out about her beliefs, about the things that were wrong in their world.

But even now, they wonder if she has secrets that she's not sharing.

imagine being someone at new rome university and not knowing percy is the same guy as “percy jackson, son of poseidon, two-time hero of olympus, former praetor” because the thought doesn’t even cross your mind. like… he’s percy. he’s a total frat boy. on a normal night, he walks into a party, refers to everyone as bro or dude, socializes with every living (and not-living) person in the room, makes at least 50 sarcastic comments, plays 12 rounds of beer pong, drinks way too much, and then skates around campus on his skateboard yelling “I LOVE NEW YORK” (which makes no sense, because they’re in california) until someone calls his girlfriend to come get him.

and then one day there’s an attack, and frat boy percy is all of a sudden a fighting machine. he’s yelling battle cries alongside the praetors frank zhang and hazel levesque as they lead everyone into battle. (why is he with the praetors? and why…. why in the world do the praetors seem to be following his lead?) his sword slashes through armies of monsters faster than you’ve ever seen. he’s controlling the entire river surrounding the camp, creating huge waves as tall as skyscrapers that crash down all around him, wiping out monsters and causing mass destruction to his enemies’ ranks. the sky is suddenly dark above you, ice-cold water droplets are slashing through the air, and the wind is blowing so aggressively that it’s making it hard to stand up steadily. because he’s somehow created a hurricane.

and he looks terrifying. you can feel the power radiating off of him. he’s like a god. or maybe a monster. it’s hard to tell. you’re a little scared of him, to be honest. but also in total awe, because it’s extraordinary. he’s extraordinary.

frat boy percy is not who you thought he was.
