um yes i absolutely do (she says, as if it's not one ficlet that occupies more of my mind than i want it to)

it's this ficlet!

basically scholarship kid anakin meets rich kid obi-wan at small expensive rich kid jedi college and they fall into something like love that probably isn't love or definitely isn't a healthy love cause obi-wan is just so sloppy fucked up in so many ways (which is why the alex law gif set i just reblogged made me think of it lol) and anakin spends half his time getting into shit with obi-wan and half his time trying to save obi-wan from himself and they're never in a proper relationship but that doesn't mean they don't fuck each other up for years and years

and eight years after they last talk anakin writes a book about jedi college and he changes everyone's names of course but obi-wan reads it and comes to see him and he's angry but also the chemistry between them is still electric and they fall into another relationship that anakin swears he doesn't love (even though he does) (because despite it all, obi-wan kenobi is the love of his life)

The thing that gets me about Pokémon is like, the modern games have a lot MORE that needs to be done to consider them good titles like in a technical aspect.

But simultaneously, Paldea is supposed to be connected to Unova. Black & White had so much love and care put into the games that went greatly underappreciated at the time.

But they majorly fucked up with Lenora at the time. They literally made a black mammy stereotype (Japanese media has a long history of fetishism and racism of black people and black culture and that VERY much included Pokémon for a hot minute) and had to alter her design because of public backlash, then didn't really bother with her much in B2W2 from what I remember.

So seeing Ryme & Tyme in the new games like, genuinely surprised me. They're older black women with black bodies/custom models and a lot of love put into their lore and characters. Like this whole new DLC is all double battles, which Ryme introduced /over a year ago/ to the games. It made her battle feel fun and memorable. Ryme is also known across Paldea and popular rapper which they totally could have fucked up. Of course a lot of the stuff is dumbed down for kids game (tm) but like, idk she reminds me of old-school Queen Latifa and I love that for her. She has a lot of cute character stuff for a Gym Leader and they've been doing a lot of stuff with her and Tyme in game which makes me happy. It feels like a genuine apology in a way and a step forward for black rep in videogames.

turning 22 tomorrow. for the first time in almost 6 years, i finally, FINALLY want to celebrate my birthday. i have to work of course, but i'm just... i feel so good. i've got the pre-birthday jitters again. i can finally see that i have friends and family who love me and want to celebrate with me. co-workers who insist on doing something for me/with me/trading my shift so i can relax on my birthday. i just..

i hate that it took so long. i'm so happy that i'm better now than i once was, but i feel so much regret that my teenage years were spent in such a deep depression.

then again, my 20s have only just begun. as a full grown adult now, i have the agency to reflect on my past and vow to never make those mistakes again. i can be better -- better than i once was, and better than i am now. the process of healing has already begun. it's already underway. but i can continue as i grow older.

it's 2:43 pm where i am right now. but here's to another year of life and growth.

(side note: got a job interview for a high scale place! if i can land this job in addition to the one i already have, i might be able to save enough money to get myself something nice for once, heheh)
