in general i think one of cubfan’s most important traits is that he is terrifyingly competent at basically every aspect of the game. however, he mostly uses his terrifying powers to be a nuisance. this is really important to understanding cubfan,

small leon headcanons (for creative freedom in my writings, mostly)
-impeccable hearing. crazy fucking good hearing. he's able to distinguish different sounds, like voices, amongst gunfire and explosions. he may not understand, but being able to detect if someone is near during audial overstimulation is the point.
he can hear, clearly, conversations in whispers from a decent range, and his ears literally twitch towards said sounds (like a cat!)
-nerve damage. caused by las plagas mostly, but also his numerous injuries over the years. and probably head trauma. his hands and shoulders mostly. it's chronic, but he's also able to ignore it for the most part. huge pain tolerance developed over the years. the nerve damage makes him a tad clumsy/gets him into trouble a lot. the only reason he's able to get captured and strangled all the time lol

I would totally read a good Lizzie going quasi-Munchausen By Proxy on Tommy. Starts with something small, a cold that she overreacts to and treats like it's deadly; Tommy knowing but letting her because he's tired, taking the pills, taking the pills. Lizzie realising he's letting her but incrementally testing these boundaries with more and more removal of (self) control and independence. Until one day they realise it's all too late to exit this strange and horrible thing they've created.
Could totally go for this with Polly instead of Lizzie, too.

I kind of love that Rain doesn't remotely struggle to get away while Payu is spanking him, and afterwards, despite complaining, he doesn't use disrespectful language. He still calls Payu "P'Payu", and uses "Pom" instead of "Goo" for "I/me". In fact, so far after their linguistic domination scene, Rain has stuck to respectful pronouns, no matter how indignant he acts. Payu has been trying to be Rain's Dom, and Rain is slowly letting him be.
I admit I'm wildly curious where it'll go from here.

calling preferred pronouns a “stupid social protocol” is,,,, a take for sure
Yeah and honestly I think it's a very valid one for an autistic 16 year old who has exclusively had the concept explained by people inexplicably shouting at her about what an evil person she is because.
She asked someone how a mutual acquaintance was doing these days by the name and pronouns they used four months ago, when she last heard about them.
Rules are just. They're just rules. We make them up. We have to tell each other about them and navigate and negotiate and evolve them. There's gonna be access conflicts. People don't know your set of rules as a natural upwelling of inner virtue, that's not how culture or goodness or anything works. Queerness should not be about conformity.
Social constructs aren't. They aren't all that important.
You have to realize this if you want to liberate people to actually fuck freely with gender. You have to stop criminalizing and taxonomizing and demanding universal obedience to your particular principles. I am sick to death of shit like getting told by trans women that drag is transphobic and should be shamed.
If we enforce Virtuous Conduct by abusing people, we do not get an overall improvement in wellbeing. We get a lot of people keeping their heads down and obeying the New Rules with the same bitter helplessness they obeyed the first set of Arbitrary Gender Pronouncements they were raised into, and a bunch of unnecessary enemies.
Don't do that shit.

What was your first impression of Gojo?
i don’t really have a very concise answer for this, so you’re getting a very long winded response here 💀 so before i actually read and watched jjk myself, and actually committed to it, i had watched the first several episodes of it with my family, and so that was my pure first impressions of him. but the problem with that, is how i have literally no memory of what i was thinking while watching it.. so i think most of my impression of him before genuinely committing to jjk was just: he’s funny, flamboyant, powerful, and sort of like kakashi (but in reality he’s really not..). which was mostly just me being influenced by other peoples thoughts about him, and what i could remember/pick up on second hand lol

*through gritted teeth* ppl can ship whatever they want and it’s fine it doesn’t affect you ppl can ship whatever they want and it’s fine it doesn’t affect you ppl can ship whatever they want and it’s fine it doesn’t affect you people can—
#I need to stop seeing douma/akaza stuff like. now.#I’ve tried okay I’ve tried to even mildly like it and nope#I can’t do it. I cannot do it whatsoever#I JUST DONT GET IT I DONT GET IT I DONT GET ITTTTTTTR#I know it’s my thing where I viscerally dislike ships that are based on two characters#who are on the same side but STILL fucking hate each other#because literally no matter what it just feels so weird and forced to me#like they are on the same side. they have similar morals already. if they were gonna like each other AT ALL… they would#but yeah no I’m hffjdjdksk I can’t do that one anymore#and it used to be such a rare pair so it was really easy to avoid and now I’m seeing A LOT more of it and it’s getting more difficult#and I dunno part of it is the idea of shipping douma with ANYONE#like I can’t stand him being shipped with shinobu kanae or kotoha either#his canon interactions with them have just tainted it sooooo much for me#and like yeah rocks at glass houses I’m aware I’m the enemies to lovers weirdo who ships characters who keep trying to kill each other#but mannnnnn something about the idea of shipping a guy who terrified a woman so wholly she threw her baby off a cliff because that was a#better alternative to him getting his hands on her child? yeeeeaaaaahhhhh… it’s not gonna be for me folks#it is NOT a kind of power dynamic I am gonna enjoy when it’s that particular angle#the context of their relationship cannot be that removed to me#it’s just one of my person nope. can’t fucking do it don’t fucking like it kinda makes my skin crawl things#which in a way is unfortunate#cuz I actually do enjoy douma as a character a lot and I can enjoy certain explorations of him#where he actually DOES learn to be in tune with his emotions again and learn to care for someone#but I rarely see it done well#and when I see ANY of that so called ‘development’ linked to any of these ships#it’s usually just akaza or Kotoha or shinobu getting over their hatred/fear of him in way too fast and highly unrealistic ways#while douma does very little to actually develop himself he just kinda is Automatically better because someone loved him back#(in a way that’s usually out of character for everyone involved lol)#esp when any of these ships are showcased in a REALLY cutesy way like again it’s just not for me#I don’t think I can ever really jive with it#oh well. I should just block some more tags I just needed to complain a bit first lol

nothing frustrates me more to my core than abled ppl in fandoms referring to explicitly canonically disabled characters as "kinda disabled" (with the clear implication of "but not really") when they don't fit stereotypes, or are even just fucking self-sufficient (like a lot of real life disabled people!)

Well.  Okay.  I suppose I’m glad that TDP, or at least TDP’s marketing team, finally recognizes that Aaravos and Viren’s relationship is the most compelling part of the show — things were looking pretty bleak there for a while.  Also it’s pretty cool that they took their time making this season instead of rushing out something as messy as the last one, even just from the standpoint of promoting a healthier workplace (yeah, remember that controversy?).  I really wish I had an ounce of faith left in the writers, though, because with their track record an entire season/phase* devoted to the “Mystery of Aaravos” will probably just end up having a higher volume of shit that annoys me than usual.  In fact, that subtitle leads me to believe that they decided they just want to get aaaall the Aaravos-related stuff they built up out of the way in one production cycle so they can move on to the shiny new stories they actually want to tell in this universe.  Dude is almost certainly gonna get a big Disney villain perma-death within three books, so like. look forward to that, I guess.
*The phase/book/season thing is confusing af, but I think the gist of it is that “The Dragon Prince” was the first three books (which only had 27 25-minute episodes cumulatively, so functionally and probably production-wise constituted one “season” of television), whereas this three-book cycle will be “Mystery of Aaravos” (no “The” for some reason. it’s fine. it doesn’t matter).  I suspect the seventh and final book will be as long as a normal TV season, and I also suspect that they did not plan a lot or any of this from the start.  It’s weird that this is still being called “The Dragon Prince Saga” when “The Dragon Prince” was apparently only the first phase — couldn’t they rebrand the franchise as “Tales of Xadia” or something?  It’s not like “The Dragon Prince” is that great for SEO or marketing, considering how it intersects with other generic fantasy titles.
