cw: talks of body image
Tumblr media
whenever you critique and complain of your body, gojo always quips back with a lighthearted “then just give it to me”
the first time you had this conversation, you were both standing in your kitchen after breakfast. you were wiping down the countertops when you opened up to him about thoughts regarding your body image, adding in a few lighthearted jokes and comments along the way.
he took a swig of his sweetened coffee and eyed you up and down from the corner of his eye. "then just give it to me," he exhales, setting the cup down and giving you a small shrug. you stopped wiping and looked at him confused.
"if you're not going to appreciate all this," he dramatically waves his hands in front of you, "then give it to someone who will. i certainly will, so just hand it over anytime."
amused, yet still confused, you frown and say, "how is that even supposed to work-"
he cuts you off and says, "your body will still be with you, but starting now, i'll be in charge of taking care of it." he looks behind him and adds, "you know what, my body's feeling kinda thirsty."
you watch him fill up a glass of water, mouth slightly ajar from puzzlement.
he brings the glass up to your lips and lightly taps your chin. "here, drink up."
you glare at him with furrowed brows as you somewhat reluctantly take a sip of water. "wait, so-" you begin.
"from now on, i'll be in charge of caring for your body," satoru firmly says, bringing his hands to your shoulders to make you look at him. "so you can't make those mean comments anymore. it's not right to talk about other people's bodies, right? this one ain't yours anymore until you start appreciating it."
and with that, he places his hand on your back and ushers you to the bathroom because "my body's feeling a little dirty, needs a bath."
for the next couple days, you decide to entertain his little gimmick to see how far he takes it. within these days, he diligently scrubbed you clean, fed you good, frequently made you drink water, take you on walks, and decide your outfits. you heard a lot of "how's my body doing, feeling kinda sore?" and then he'd spend the next 15 minutes massaging an area you never said was sore. "my body's craving ice cream," he'd say, and get up to get you your favorite ice cream.
"why is your body's favorite ice cream also my favorite ice cream?" you ask him as he hands you the carton and a spoon.
"coincidence," he shrugs.
"i'm feeling blue today," he'd say as he would hold up your light blue pants next to you. "hmm maybe dark blue...no, definitely light blue, even though both looks so good"
one afternoon, he suddenly said, "my body would look so good in this," and brought out his favorite baby blue lingerie set that he got you on one of his business trips. (it wasn't on sale and there was no special occasion, he just felt like getting one for you) satoru quickly ushered you to room to put it on.
"why would you randomly put your body in lingerie at 2:35 in the afternoon," you ask, trying to sound annoyed but really, you can't help your heart from fluttering at his dedication to this
"because i look good and i can," he widely grins as he looks you up and down. "c'mere, i'm suddenly feeling cold and need to be warmed up." he pats his lap and opens his arms. you bite your lip to stop yourself from smiling too hard.
since the beginning of your relationship, he had always been touchy, but this level was touchiness from these couple of days is unprecedented. his hands always had a place on your body. it used to just be one hand on your thigh or just his chin resting of your shoulder, but lately, it's been both hands on your thighs and his chin resting of your shoulder while his hands ran up your shirt. "gotta show my body extra love," he'd say when you question him. "since the previous owner wasn't so good at doing so"
the first time this happened, it lasted around a week. you found his whole gimmick amusing until after a while, you wanted to choose your own outfits, when you wanted to exercise ("not if," he insisted before giving your body back to you. "when" ), and what to eat, and after a quick promise to appreciate your body, he gave you a quick kiss and "handed it back."
this gimmick hasn't happened in a while, but every once in a while when he hears you complain, he just shakes his head and motions for you to hand it to him.

The Epitaph of Anything Goes
Tumblr media
I decided that this morning I would talk about The Museum of Anything Goes and the subject of lost media.
For the uninitiated, The Museum of Anything Goes is an obscure "game" released in 1995 by Wayzata Technologies, a company that is so far under the radar that I was unable to find any useful information about it outside of TMoAG.
All I could uncover is that they published a few multimedia projects (which are essentially lost now) alongside some asset discs (clipart, SFX, etc.). That's it.
The brains behind Wayzata are even more difficult to locate these days: there are only two main names credited inside of TMoAG - Michael Markowski and Maxwell S. Robertson.
The game alleges that Michael and Maxwell are well known in the art world, but any additional information about the duo is scarce beyond the confines of the museum. Attempting to search for either name online turns up plenty of rabbit holes - but none of them have anything to do with the Michael and Maxwell responsible for TMoAG.
Tumblr media
This is particularly fascinating because it essentially means that TMoAG is the only accessible record of their lives. Before we dig any deeper into that statement, let me step back and actually address what this game is.
The Museum of Anything Goes is, by definition, a virtual art museum. Functionally it's a prerendered point-and-click adventure game where you can explore a bunch of multimedia exhibits that give the surface-level impression of a children's edutainment game, but once you start exploring further it reveals a side that firmly plants the game's feet into a haze of substance abuse and surreal humor.
Tumblr media
Many exhibits are essentially just toying around with the astonishing new powers of CD-ROM. Everything has to make noise. Everything has to spin and flitter around. There's an air of genuine excitement for the medium, and I can't help but find it extremely charming.
The game also functions as a scrapbook, filled to the brim with photos of random trips to the zoo and snow-mobile rides with friends. At one point we even get insight into something as specific as Michael's one-year job as a tutor at a Chicago middle school, where he talks about how it opened his eyes to how poorly funded and mismanaged the school system is.
It's simultaneously quaint and chilling to see so much personal history packed into a world doomed to obscurity. As I explore the deeper parts of the museum, I contemplate if the creators are still alive today. It's a bit morbid, but imagine that - you create a single obscure game with your friend and it's all the world can see. TMoAG is currently the only surviving piece that gives any insight into who these two men were.
Tumblr media
While many exhibits are lighthearted or nonsensical, there are occasional moments where the game dips into the eerie.
One exhibit has the player kill a man by dropping him from the sky, and after burying him you open the coffin to a video of a rotting pig carcass being put into an incinerator.
Other exhibits just feature simple 3D renders shifting around a dark screen while haunting groans play in the background.
While I would never refer to the game as "scary," its darker moments combined with the occasional mature subject matter definitely begs the question: Who is this game for?
You have to remember that this game came out long before the concept of "alt-games" had become codified in the digital space. Sure, unconventional digital art had been around before the advent of 256 colors, but TMoAG was being sold on disk as a game! It came out 2 years after DOOM hit shelves!
The trend of using the PC for entertainment was certainly on the upswing around that time, but It's not like TMoAG had a massive audience to find a niche in. With its mature themes it certainly wasn't suited for the kids market either, so who was it for?
Tumblr media
At the end of the day, it's a moot question. We already know the target audience for The Museum of Anything Goes: Nobody. It doesn't have an audience because by its nature, TMoAG wasn't being made FOR someone, it was being made BY someone. It's a raw, unfiltered form of personal expression.
I think games like these are pivotal, because they question why people assume a game has to exist for the sake of being a consumable product. TMoAG certainly has the shape of a product: it features an intro cutscene, it has a tutorial, it features intuitive UX, it even has a map! These are all features that are solely integrated to provide comfort to an end-user. But once you actually wander around the museum for a bit, you realize how bizarrely its packaging fits its contents.
Tumblr media
I think TMoAG is criminally underrated. It's not because its core content contains some earth-shaking truth, it's because the game defied all odds and cheated death.
How many thousands of other personal projects were deemed a little "too exotic" to be archived? How much history was lost these past 40 years as the digital space evolved and ate its old skin?
God knows how many other TMoAGs we'll never learn about because they weren't lucky enough to be preserved.
The Museum of Anything Goes isn't just some nonsensical art piece, it's a grave marker for so much lost media. Its existence is a reminder that some people's lives were fossilized, then macerated into nothing because a construction company built a skyscraper over them. The only evidence we have of those other games existing is this little fossil that somehow slipped out from under the skyscraper unscathed.
Even though so much has been lost, TMoAG survives as an epitaph.

BG3 Companions on a Halloween Date
YES I was itching to do something for the BG3 gang for the season. You could say it's been bugging me. Hah. Ok sorry it's the influence of my pfp.
Let's start with
Tumblr media
You want a cozy night in under the covers, watching scary movies (or puppet shows or whatever the heck is the equivalent in Faerun) but he's not sold on the idea. "I've seen enough horror to last me several lifetimes, darling."
Instead Astarion would take you out in the crisp Autumn air, under the distant sun, for a walk crunching through the dried leaves of brown and red.
He'd want to go to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect gourd for a Jack-o-Lantern.
When the sun set so very early in the afternoon, you'd retire back to your cozy abode and set to carving faces into your pumpkins.
Astarion of course would make short work of his, dexterous as ever with those knives, and he would do his best to shape the face into what he hopes he looks like.
Either that or, depending on where you're at in his character arc, he'd remake Cazador BEFORE gutting it and making a whole show of utterly eviscerating the poor Halloween decoration. "Astarion, this is supposed to be relaxing." "This IS my ideal downtime."
Tumblr media
You want someone who will snuggle under the covers and watch Hocus Pocus with you? Wyll is your man. But sorry I'm trying to keep to a less modern AU.
Wyll seems like the kind of guy who would put on some fitting music as you two cooked together, dancing in the kitchen intermittently and almost forgetting to check on the cookies before they burned.
He's such a sweetheart, checking to make sure you're happy with just spending an evening indoors with him. "We can go out on the town if you desire, sweetheart." "No, Wyll, I've told you this is absolutely perfect."
Depending on the choices you've made with him thus far, Mizora might pop in to dip her finger in the batter and bamf out again, giving ya'll a cheeky wink. "Ta ta, love imps. You make me physically ill."
Tumblr media
Sigh, you're back for more bones hm?
Alright I'll entertain you.
You ask Withers to dance to Spooky Scary Skeletons. He looks at you, unimpressed. "Get thee hence." "Wilt thou harass someone else?"
Tumblr media
Ideally I would propose and she'd say "yes". Oh what? Sorry, I was miles away.
For a Halloween date. Hm. A corn maze. Definitely.
She'd be all about her tutelage under Shar's freaks followers and want to show off her sneaking skills.
It would turn into a game of hide-and-go-seek and then it'd get a little creepy before she'd inevitably pounce on you and you'd end of in a fit of laughter together.
"I wasn't going to hurt you!" "Well, Shaddy, sometimes I wonder." "Good to keep you on your toes, then." "Careful, I saw a pond on the way in."
Then you two would go and get some candied apples and chat about memories and flowers that bloom in the gloaming.
Tumblr media
Oh Gale.
He'd love to read to you out of a classic gothic novel (cough cough Dracula cough cough) while you two cozy up under some blankets.
He'd probably get fresh with you and run a hand up your leg or something, OH SORRY this is post the patch that fixed that? OK. He'd wait an extra hour.
Tara would curl up next to you and listen as he read from the book, the firelight crackling and warming your bodies as the night grows dark outside.
Afterward he would ask if you'd like to be guided into the Astral plane where you can look down on the All Hallow's Eve festivities below.
Tumblr media
yeah, gotta give Tiefling daddy some love. Especially since I still feel bad for massacring them all my last playthru.
Zevlor is another who has seen his fair share of horror, and he would opt to do something more lighthearted with you for a Halloween date.
He seems like a family kind of man, so I expect he would invite the whole gang over for a delicious dinner. Mol and her friends, Arabella and her parents. Rolan and Zorru and maybe even Auntie Ethel will sneak in there. Then it really WOULD be a Halloween experience.
After the dinner and the guests are snoozing or already left he'd wrap an arm around you and pull you close. "Would you accompany me outside? I would like to show you the stars and tell their tales. It's been so long since I've gotten to properly admire them. Or you."
Tumblr media
Of course I have to include the daddy devil, who do you think I am?
Raphael would take you to a haunted house, of course. OF COURSE.
Hell, what better house that is haunted than the House of Hope?
It would be horrifying for you, since the no touching rules don't apply there, and most amusing for him.
You'd practically climb the cambion in your efforts to avoid the ghosties, especially that one who constantly says "huuuurt meeee, pleeeaaase."
Raphael would enjoy watching you squirm, and remind you such a fate would not be yours only IF you followed his rules.
Oh yeah, and maybe if you're lucky, or perhaps very unlucky, he'll invite you to his Boudoir.
Tumblr media
Oak Father frowns on dissecting pumpkins for the sake of creating superfluous lanterns (or something...I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend, ok)
Instead, Halsin would druid craft you vines and harvest fruits in whatever shapes, sizes, and colors you desired.
He'd also want to go trick or treating so BADLY. "But Halsin, you're eight feet tall and built like a linebacker. No one is going to mistake you for a kid." Then he'd cast Disguise Self and you'd be forced to take him out on the town in hunt of candy.
Poor guy didn't have much of a childhood and wants to experience the finer things in life. Get those king sized candy bars...just once.
You are a bit huffy, having expected a more...romantic evening than this. But he'll make it up to you later winkwonk , till you can bearly stand it.
Tumblr media
Aw
You guys would get all CUTE and gussied up together.
Go out on the town.
Pick the best looking victim to be a sacrifice to Lolth.
Wait...what?

Title: First Impressions
Synopsis: Reminiscing about your first impressions of Geto, and you realise he's much more than meets the eye, and one of the kindest people you've ever met.
Character: Geto Suguru x reader
Series: Let's Meet in the Spring (SaShiSu x reader)
Notes: Pure fluff.
Part 2 is available here!
Tumblr media
Geto Suguru is much more mature than you thought he was. Initially, the first impression you had of him was from a mission both he and Gojo were on - one that saved you from the curse that clung to you and manifested into a big problem.
Granted, Gojo was the one who swept you off your feet to get you to safety, but Geto was the one who gave him that opportunity (which you later found out). It was a tag team for the both of them, and was easy as they subdued and exorcised the curse, making it their mission to get you to safety. Once you were safe, Geto made sure you were mentally okay, whilst Gojo looked and scoured the area while waiting for the Windows to arrive. His words encapsulated a soft and kind feeling, one akin to a safe haven bathed in moonlight on a warm night with a light and comfortable cool breeze.
That wasn't your first impression of him, but rather your second, one that overturned the first just as quickly as it came, much to your surprise.
The first one was while Geto and Gojo were saving you. The first time you see them together after they fetched you, they crack several childish jokes to each other, making you question whether this whole ordeal was a joke.
But you were incredibly wrong, and later after observing their behaviours, you realise it was just the lighthearted fun of two teenage boys who were best friends, egging each other on in their own world of entertainment and antics.
Geto Suguru was the one who held you incredibly gently when he brought your injured body to Shoko after the mission, making sure you weren't uncomfortable since you hurt your leg. You weren't complaining since you felt cared for, but staring at his face point blank right after being told kind words made you look away as quickly as you could, glancing at him when you knew he wasn't looking.
Newsflash, he definitely knew you were, but paid no mind to it.
Later, when you became a student in the same year level as him, he told you cheekily that he knew you were looking at him back then and joked that you probably had a crush on him, and you were absolutely humiliated. Just like Gojo, you ran away from him for 3 days before Gojo & Shoko convinced you to look at him again without screaming in embarrassment at such a first meeting.
Geto was entertained the whole time, knowing exactly what was causing these reactions and had a great laugh out of it, although he did want to apologise because he missed seeing your face. Seeing this all happen, Gojo & Shoko commented he was actually a bit of a sadist especially when it came to you, in which he didn't deny nor confirm.
Suguru apologised profusely after that, only wanting to tease you, but realised he might've gone too far since your expressions were cute and he liked that he was the cause of them. He gave a hug as an apology, chin resting next to your head and on your shoulder as he whispered a soft 'sorry' next to your ear, leaning down to encase you in his arms.
You didn't expect him to whisper in your ear like that, so you hit his back lightly, whining about him teasing you again, hiding your embarrassment in the crook of his neck. The next sound that came from him was a beautiful laughter, one that you hoped you could've recorded with it so close to your ear. The thrum of it echoing in his chest could be felt in your body too, since he hugged you tighter as he laughed.
Once he finally let go, he grinned and messed up your hair, giving a wave as he turned and went off to get drinks from the vending machine for everyone.
You couldn't deny that your jaw dropped at the interaction, wondering what just happened. It was still processing in your brain.
When Gojo's soft (almost scandalous) gasp and Shoko's puff of cigarette smoke made you realise you and Suguru weren't just the only ones there, the expression, let's say, was one that Shoko & Gojo wanted to take a picture of and frame it for eternity, much to your chagrin.
They didn't stop teasing you about the whole ordeal, having been the first time they've seen Suguru act this way towards anyone. It was new and it was fresh, but it fit with Suguru's character from your precious memories of him from day 1.
You wouldn't change it for the world.
Geto Suguru's demeanour was incredibly kind underneath his teasing, serious and calm expressions, and you'd be lying if you said that you knew how kind he was. You would say that he had a soft heart, and you've been on the receiving end of it many times as he treated you well. However, a soft heart doesn't necessarily mean weak, and for Suguru, you didn't know if he was soft and weak, or if he was just soft. You just know him as Suguru, the one who loves his friends dearly and cares for their wellbeing.
This is the same Geto Suguru who shared music and book recommendations when you were bored, the same one who sometimes picks you up from the train station if you were coming back from a mission if he was nearby, the same one who would steal your little treats to give to Gojo & Shoko, the same one messed up your hair after teasing you, the same one who braided your hair when no one was around and you begged him to do your hair (he was surprisingly really good at it), the same one who would already have some of his food ready for you since you always wanted to take a bite of what he was having since it looked good (he sometimes cooked it himself), as well as the one who would hug you tightly if he noticed you were sad or feeling under the weather.
There were more things you could list, and it made your heart swell tha you were close to a person with such wonderful traits.
Sometimes you would think of him like a cat - one of the incredibly affectionate ones that you were acquainted with, especially after become familiar with you over time. It was a sight to see once you made the correlation, and you wondered if getting a cat version of Geto would be similar to the real one.
Even though you two were good friends, there was an intricate line both sides feared to cross, due to the nature of the jujutsu world and how each and every person was affected by the aftershocks of missions, curses and negative energy.
But even though you were close and kept each other at arms reach, sometimes, you wanted to reach your hand out and grab his in an unrelenting grip so he wouldn't slip away.
And once you reached your hand out, you wondered whether the world would become just a bit brighter.
Tumblr media
A/N: Here's part 2! I think I screamed when I wrote this 🤣 If you want to read in order, Gojo's is first, then Geto and Shoko.

ON THE TOPIC OF BARNABY. as well as his relationship with Wally.
So. To kick this off - Riv (@funonion) and I were Speculating, and they introduced me to the johari window:
Tumblr media
They put Barnaby in the “facade” section, and I entirely agree. To quote them;
“So he’s Wally’s guide, right? He’s the “knowledgeable” one of the two and is always the one teaching him new things. And you know, it’s one thing if you’re just teaching him how to laugh or how to tell a joke. But.
Clown has given us two doors. One says that Barnaby understands Wally in a way the rest of the neighborhood doesn’t, and is willing to do his dirty work so to speak. The other says that their friendship was not a natural occurring thing and had to be enforced repeatedly within the show. HOW THAT’S BEING ENFORCED IS ANOTHER THING ENTIRELY but it is worth it to note.
What is Barnaby willing to keep? What is he willing to bury for his little buddy? I can’t say anything definitively yet, but the fact that I even have to ask is telling. The class clown archetype is usually used as a way to cover up for something else a character might be experiencing”
And my response, (I won’t directly quote because I have little things in the phrasing & elaboration to add / tweak );
Barnaby being a Comic Relief Character immediately raised so many alarms in my head. I love comic relief characters. They’re always so fucked up in one way or another, and Barnaby is almost certainly SO inauthentic. He’s wearing a comedy mask just as opaque as Wally’s own mask. In everything we’ve seen about him so far he’s either Teaching Wally, wisecracking/joking, or… pretty much nothing else. We got that moment of concern in audio 14-14, but that doesn’t reveal anything beyond genuine care for Wally.
Comedic characters have the best disguises. Their poker faces & ability to deflect is always top tier [and practiced], and just look at comedy-focused actors and entertainers - so many of them have severe issues, either with their mental health or life. From what i’ve observed both in that aspect & with fictional characters, they play it off & work hard to entertain/deflect [one in the same] right up until the end. Sometimes it’s a coping mechanism. Usually it’s both. If they laugh loud enough and make people think they’re lighthearted fools w/ nothing underneath, no one will look any deeper and thus they’re “safe”.
& I’m a little suspicious that Barnaby’s red/orange/yellow spots aren’t naturally those colors. While yes, he could be (in-universe) designed that way to echo Ms. Beagle, there’s a strong possibility that that’s not it. What if he paints them to feel a connection to her, or it’s a physical manifestation of Barnaby covering up his insecurities/issues - what if it’s part of him striving to convince the world that he is what he paints himself as.
The laidback funnyguy with a loving mom and not a problem in the world.
And I mean, Barnaby claims to be a natural blue and I believe him! But the other colors? I’m doubtful
(I was going to include the Cast As Lil Kids Designs in this since Barnaby has all blue spots, but given how early in 2021 it was posted and how there seem to be little discrepancies from the ~official~ designs, I don’t want to provide it as evidence.)
& on the topic of Wally and Barnaby’s relationship being both real and not - disclaimer, this conversation happened before my Updated Thoughts On Them post, so there may be some minor rephrasing here from what I originally said - I’m sure that the relationship started out as inauthentic. Wally was assigned Barnaby as a best friend and technically vice versa, but I don’t doubt for a second that it became real to some extent. Clown wouldn’t treat their relationship outside of “canon” WH stuff the way that he does if they weren’t actually friends. They’ve said that Wally & Barnaby would be friends in every universe (which melts my heart <3 platonic soulmates my beloved <3), so then I have to agree with Riv. what WILL Barnaby do for Wally? I touched on this in the Milk Theory, but especially if Barnaby prides himself on “knowing Wally better than anything else”, what would Barn do to preserve that?
This relates to another conversation we had - Barnaby possibly having abandonment issues. It’s such a choice to have him of all characters be explicitly stated as an orphan. That and while every other Neighbor with a mentioned family have a somewhat large one (Howdy and his gajillion relatives, Julie and her three siblings, Poppy and her crowded tree [note: Eddie has a mentioned mother, but that info is tenuous and who knows if there are other Dears]), Barnaby has also explicitly stated that Ms. Beagle is his only family. That’s it. And farm life can’t be a sociable way to grow up, not with all the chores he must have had and how rural he might have grown up. Barnaby jokes that Home is the “Big Apple”, which could just be a joke - but jokes often come from a place of truth, and Home might be the most populated area Barnaby has lived in. Who’s to say!
Either way, Barnaby was orphaned one way or another, and I don’t doubt that it weighs on him. Especially if  his birth parents really did abandon him. That added to a possible life of loneliness… I wonder if he’s latched onto Wally emotionally, which would hit all the painful places if it turns out that my “Barnaby is more attached to Wally than Wally is to Barnaby” theory has merit. Abandonment issues could also strongly back the apparent walls he’s plastered over with circus tent fabric
Back to Barnaby & Wally: the fact that, at present, Barnaby and Wally seem to have the best disguises / strongest masks. That. looking at 14-14, i suspect that Barnaby is excellent at keeping his up, but as soon as Wally’s mask cracks, so does Barnaby’s.
And then there’s the side of their dynamic that we could look at - it seems to be a very multifaceted relationship. The way that Barnaby genuinely cares yet in the 00 Halloween audio Wally was left off to the side and Barnaby was just “checking on him” while socializing (then again, this could be part of Barnaby understanding Wally & respecting his space / Wally wanting a break from that socialization). Barnaby is patient with Wally and yet he seems to sometimes treat Wally as his sidekick / let him fade into the background and yet Barnaby kept checking in on Wally during the 14 bug audios (this last one I could tie into the abandonment issues theory).
Then there’s how Barnaby calls Wally kid & can tend to treat him like one despite both of them being in the same age group. The way that all of this could, in a way, relate to the infantilization of autistic people (no matter how well-meaning or unintentional) & internalized ableism.
Note: Riv pointed out that Barnaby does seem to be doing the best with what he has, and that this can connect to the Johari Window’s blind spot / unknown.
I do agree with this wholeheartedly! And I have to mention that - and making a Very educated guess here - the interactions we’ve seen take place in the very late 60s / very early 70s, so Barnaby’s behavior towards Wally is actually pretty fucking stellar given the time period. We can’t expect him to be perfect or do everything / say everything right. That would be boring I think! And one thing I deeply appreciate about the Neighbors & their dynamics is that they feel like real layered people, not cardboard cutouts being perfect caricatures of what people are “supposed” to be like.
Riv also presented this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We likely are going to reach a point where Wally asks Barnaby something that he can’t / doesn’t want to / won’t answer. And like.. Ok. This is a slight tangent but I swear it’s related! When I first discovered WH and learned the Wally basics, I wondered two things.
Are we going to watch Wally “discover” new emotions? Because he certainly has them. Clown has said that Wally only ever feels happy, and a lot of people took that to mean that Wally can’t feel anything else. I don’t think we should take that answer at face value, because. I mean. Look at the project & creator we’re talking about. Layers, guys. Indirect direct answers. I think that Clown meant that Wally only ever feels happy in the Neighborhood because he has no reason to feel any negative emotion. Everything is as it should be. Until it isn’t - and I think that’s where he’s going to have to struggle with new emotions as he encounters them through new situations/events unfolding as the “story” starts to deteriorate. We’ve actually seen this a little bit - in Wally’s record audios (i believe the chronological second to last?), the way he says “Let Me In” so insistently. That’s definitely not a positive emotion being expressed.
How will the topic of death be handled - because it will be handled, it’s stated in the project warnings. I was wondering this even before I read the list, because I was presented with a blank slate puppet character and so went “oh fuck, this dude doesn’t know about death, does he?” Obviously I wanted to know how that would go. I want to know how it Will go!
How would Barnaby explain emotions that Wally doesn’t know how to convey? How would Barnaby explain death in a way that Wally would understand - given that Barnaby (& all the Neighbors sans Wally) knows what death is  - and would Barnaby be willing to explain such a thing? I have a feeling we may find out.
And in a way, I suspect that if none of them know, Wally will find out himself and have to process it without help. But then again, how can something die if it was never really alive in the first place? Unless the death warning relates to human characters… I’m currently assuming it relates to both humans and puppets.
In conclusion: Barnaby has a carefully fabricated facade, he's doing the best with what he has but it likely won't be enough, and uh. shits fucked!

Well you asked for this.
Can I ask for hcs about how the task force DEFY girls would act around their crush? Plus how they ask them out if they do decide to act on their feelings
Your writing for them is the reason I downloaded the game very recently, especially the ones for RPK-16. She’s so hot I l’m dying until she shows up in the actual story.
(GFL) AK-12, AN-94, AK-15, and RPK-16 around someone they like
Thank you kindly for the request, always happy to write for more DEFY! And in regards to RPK-16 being your favorite:
Tumblr media
A reminder that my writing is the more lighthearted non-canon events. And that is all I'll say on the matter...Now onto the imagine before my PTSD kicks in.
Tumblr media
12 doesn't necessarily get crushes, but its more so that people intrigue her.
She doesn't act too different (smug as hell) whenever she's around said person of interest, but she'll be testing them for different reactions.
If they intrigue 12 further, she'll pull pranks or say some completely out of pocket things solely to see their reaction and satisfy her curiosity.
Assuming they catch her attention whole-heartedly, she'll egg them on more and more.
It'd be easier for her to 'confess' first for sure, but that wouldn't be nearly as much fun, now would it?
Tumblr media
94 has no idea what she's feeling for whoever she's interested in. It's not like AK-12 where she'll sacrifice her life for, but...it's close.
She wants to stay within vicinity of them as well as AK-12.
Upon telling AK-12 this, she simply says to get to know them better, which 94 complies with.
Her aloofness may seem like she's quite cold towards the person, but in reality she wants to be with them.
Upon finally being told that what she's experiencing are what humans call "crushes", she first thought is to stay away to avoid hurting them.
Once the actual definition is told, she examines and watches her crush to see if they reciprocate her feelings.
Before being given the hardest order of her life by AK-12.
Socialize with her crush instead of trying to plan it out step by step.
She is quite nervous in doing so, a combat scenario she can handle no problem. But this? This was beyond her capabilities...But, an order is an order.
And her crush was worth the effort.
Tumblr media
15 is extremely curt, and to the point. She makes it very clear when she doesn't like someone.
Which makes it all the more special for whoever earns her respect, moreso if it's without a caveat of she isn't personally fond of them.
She believes in the wisdom of her superiors, her strength, her squad's effectiveness, and little else.
And yet, she feels at ease with the person she likes, knowing that they didn't waste any time with frivolous things, and at the very least, respected her wishes as well.
15 feels more at ease if they're in close proximity, knowing if anything were to happen she could leap in and protect them.
Upon realizing her feelings, she would simply just ask them if they could continue working with her as is, not even realizing she had a "crush" until told.
She's terribly confused by the concept of a 'crush' and the normal human etiquette of finding the "perfect" way of asking them out.
Is it not far more effective to just ask them straight up?
Tumblr media
16 always was intrigued by humans, and it wasn't particularly hard for her to grow fond of one that caught her interest.
Much like AK-12, she doesn't act terribly different from how she normally is, but her tendency to bring up random philosophical subjects and strange poems increases around them.
She finds it very amusing if the person she observes gets shy by her looking at them. Maybe if she were human she'd understand that mindset more, but for now it entertains her.
Deciding that she wants to be closer to them, she'll make an attempt to compare herself to a moth drawn to the flame.
And it's up to the person to realize what she means. If things go perfect however, then it'll be them that are drawn to her flames.
16 is quite interested to see if either of them ends up burning, or if they'll end up as something more.

Mtl seventeen love to chase or be chased?
Most
Vernon || the chariot: Yes! He really enjoys the chase - both ways, actually. It's an essentially part of the relationship/romancing for him, and makes him feel confident and motivated to move forward with it.
Jeonghan || ace of wands: Yes, he likes it (chasing and being chased). It's fun and helps with fueling the passion and interest towards one another.
Mingyu || seven of cups: 1) he's very selective; 2) he likes the chase more than the relationships. Mingyu is definitely the type to chase after someone for the attention or for the excitment it brings him. Plus, he chooses whom he changes after! He's not going after just anybody that shows interest in him.
Joshua & Hoshi || the fool: They both prefer a lighthearted and short chase. It shouldn't be too intense, or they lose interest.
The8 || page of pentacles: If he sees it has necessary, he will do it. It's not something he enjoys too much, though. The situation/person must be worth it somehow.
Jun || seven of wands: He'll go as far as he sees fit. If the romantic interest starts asking too much from him, he's going to pull back.
Woozi || five of wands: Woozi will chase, but it's not something that he loves doing, exactly.
Wonwoo || ten of wands: Wonwoo sees it as a burden, but a necessary one. He just doesn't realize that the chase isn't the only way to start a relationship, so he keeps doing it even though he doesn't like it…
S.Coups || nine of swords: It's a complete headache for him, but he still does it… He can't avoid it. The urge is stronger than him.
DK || queen of cups rx: He hates it. It's likely that he's had some bad experiences with it in the past, so now he associates the chase with toxic people and/or relationships.
Seungkwan || the high priestess rx: No. He doesn't trust people who make him run after them. He thinks it's disingenuous.
Dino || five of pentacles: Clear no. He sees it as a waste of energy; something that usually leads nowhere.

Imo the new PJO shows greatest strength is definitely Riordon’s craft maturing since the lightning thief in terms of…. Thematic coherence?
I think PJO has always been fairly thematically coherent & impactful in its messaging but especially at first the books feels much more like fairly lighthearted action adventure road trip narratives that are extremely episodic and more focused on being entertaining than having something To Say. Which, they’re books for middle schoolers, I think an “adventure road trip with some unserious monster slaying” is a perfectly serviceable concept and in execution riordan is admirably gifted in that his writing can be entertaining for both the primary demographic kids but also adults.
But they’re not books that just suddenly decided to half-heartedly have a theme (unlike other kids fantasy from the period I don’t dare namedrop lmao), because of all the foreshadowing and the motivations behind the antagonists (one antagonist in particular), it’s clear he probably had a thematic direction for the series, even if I don’t know how planned the initial 5 book run was. I really do admire what the book has to say abt bad systems that are set up to leave certain folks behind, and what parents owe to their children, & abt how easy it is to fall for charismatic leaders promising for a return to glorious prelapsarian past instead of trying to provide real solutions.
In the series, what I’ve really been enjoying is how every interaction and monster doesn’t just feel episodic, each monster feels like a facet that is part of the central thesis regarding the gods & their relationship to their children. I think the writing strength does a lot of heavy lifting because while overall I think the show is pretty solid, I do have a few critiques.
Mainly one of the frustrating things probably has something to do with budgeting. Scenes that are very thrilling and action driven in the book are truncated & often replaced with a lot of kinda slow oddly paced walk-&-talk scenes. Probably bc that’s much cheaper to shoot. Riordan himself seems to be fairly transparent about the changes he’s made in adaptation due to those limitations.
The effects for tv show cgi are not perfect but pretty impressive (I’ll reiterate, for tv cgi, the bar is on the floor….) but there’s a weird emptiness or sterile quality that makes the world feel not so lived in. Idk I think this was the most apparent to me in the casino episode, which I know riordan hates the movie & we joke abt the poker face scene but I was honestly kinda bewildered at how lifeless and boring they made the intentionally enticing distraction of the lotus casino seem. I get there can’t be gambling, but maybe an arcade? A buffet? Something?
I sound like I’m really going in on the show but I’m really not, I’ve been really enjoying the adaptation so far. The flaws are not show-ruining but I do think they culminate in a result that struggles w pacing & lacks the propulsive energetic quality of the books. Which, adaptations can be different, but to me that quality was always a strength of the series that imo I would’ve prioritized in adaptation. What saves some of the problems for me is that even tho a lot content is kinda delivered in this weird inert way of the actors doing their best to bring life to scenes where people are standing around stiffly and exchanging dialogue, the content itself is really good. His knowledge of his own characters & their dynamics, their desires, their place in the narrative, is so clear. The emphasis placed on Sally Jackson in particular & her influence on Percy & his values is a great additive element to the show. Again, the thematic coherence that has evolved since the lightning thief is in full display. For example, before last nights episode, I was actually saying to my mom that I hoped they would cut the procrustes water bed scene bc that chapter always felt weirdly fillery and goofy in its tone, but it was integrated in such an organic way that I really liked it!
I’ve been saying for like a decade that I thought PJO’s monster of the week episodic structure would make a better show than movie, and like. All im saying is that being apollo cursed with the gift of prophecy isn’t always a bad thing

𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬- 𝐒𝐚𝐦 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐡
Tumblr media
"Hey you guys," You said as people started flooding in the live streams.
You were kind of bored because Sam was gone on another ghost adventure with Colby, Kris and Celina. It was currently evening and with nothing to do you thought the best thing to do was talk with your fans.
"How are you?" You asked, leaning your hands on the kitchen counter as your phone was propped up against something.
""Where is Sam and Colby?" They are currently on another ghost adventure with a couple of new guests that I think you will love. I personally love them so much I think they are both terrific people." You said, keeping it short as you could not give away a lot of info.
"I'm so bored right now cause Sam is not here and I don't know when he will be here so I'm kinda bored and that's why you guys are here to keep me entertained." You said smiling, not noticing Sam sneaking up behind you very quitely.
As soon as he was close enough he came up behind you and tapped you on the shoulder, causing you to jump slightly.
"Hey there!" Sam exclaimed, grinning mischievously.
You turned around, startled, and saw Sam with a playful smirk on his face. The live stream audience erupted with comments like, "Sam's back!" and "Surprise!"
"Oh my god, Sam! You scared the life out of me," you laughed, playfully hitting his arm.
"Sorry about that, couldn't resist," Sam chuckled. "But hey, look who's back from the ghost adventure!" He gestured to himself dramatically, as if he expected applause from the virtual audience.
The comments flooded with excitement and greetings for Sam and Colby. It seemed like your boredom was about to come to an end, thanks to their unexpected return.
"Well, looks like I won't have to keep you all entertained alone anymore. The dynamic duo is back, everyone!" you announced, turning the camera to show Sam and the viewers his trademark peace sign.
"Go shower, you're all sweaty." You said, shooing him away as you turned the camera back around and towards yourselves.
"Colby you as well." You said to the raven-haired man behind you who immediately obeyed your orders and went back up.
While both of them were upstairs freshening up you were chatting with the fans who seemed like a fun time and asked a ton of questions.
When Sam was done he came downstairs and sat down next to you on a chair before grabbing your hand and pulling you into his lap before you continued.
Comments were flooding as people commented about how cute you guys are or how hot Sam is which they weren't wrong about.
"Now that Sam is here, this is your one oppurtunity to ask us questions." You said before Sam looked towards you and asked, "Any questions?' He asked rather teasingly before you replied, "Any."
And that's when the questions started flooding in, people were going crazy with excitement, typing furiously to get their questions noticed among the flood of comments. The chat became a rapid stream of inquiries, ranging from the lighthearted and fun to the more personal and intimate.
"Favorite ghost adventure so far?" popped up on the screen, and both of you exchanged a knowing glance before Sam answered, "Definitely the one where we explored that abandoned asylum. It was creepy as hell, but the adrenaline was insane!"
The questions kept coming, and you and Sam took turns responding, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. Fans wanted to know everything, from your favorite snacks during adventures to the scariest moment you've experienced.
"Who's more likely to get scared easily?" someone asked, and you both pointed at Sam simultaneously, causing a burst of laughter in the comments. Sam feigned offense, making goofy faces to lighten the mood.
As the live stream continued, the questions became more personal. Fans asked about your relationship, how you met, and even some daring ones like "Have you guys ever pulled a prank on each other?" You both shared anecdotes, creating a sense of connection with your audience.
One fan's question caught your eye: "Any upcoming projects or surprises for the fans?" You exchanged a secretive look with Sam before teasingly saying, "Well, let's just say there might be something special in the works. But you'll have to stay tuned to find out!"
The live stream went on for a while, with fans expressing their love and admiration. It was clear that your interaction with them was a highlight of their day, and the feeling was mutual.
"Alright, before we wrap this up, let's take a few more questions," Sam suggested, looking at the comments section. The questions continued to pour in, making it clear that your fans weren't ready to let go just yet.
"Favorite supernatural encounter that didn't make it into the videos?" someone asked, and you exchanged a knowing glance with Sam. "Oh, there was this one time," you began, leaning in conspiratorially, "we heard footsteps in an old mansion, but when we investigated, there was no one there. Gave us the chills, for sure."
As you shared more stories, the atmosphere in the live stream remained energetic. Fans were curious, engaged, and eager for every detail you were willing to share. It was like having a virtual hangout with thousands of friends who shared the same interests.
A playful question popped up: "Who's the better cook between you two?" Sam immediately pointed at you, causing a wave of agreement in the comments. You laughed, "Okay, maybe I've had a bit more practice, but Sam here can whip up a mean bowl of cereal!"
The banter continued, and you both lost track of time as the live stream extended. Fans were loving every moment, and the interaction between you and Sam felt like a genuine connection rather than just content creation.
Eventually, you noticed the time and decided to give your fans a heads up. "Alright, guys, we'll be wrapping this up soon, but we promise more live streams and adventures coming your way. Keep an eye out for updates!"
The comments section flooded with expressions of gratitude, excitement, and requests for future live streams. It was evident that your fans cherished these moments just as much as you did.
Before officially ending the live stream, Sam leaned in and whispered, "One more surprise for them?" You grinned, nodding in agreement. "Stay tuned, everyone. We might have something special for you in the next few days. Don't miss it!"
With that teaser, you and Sam bid a temporary farewell to your fans, promising to be back soon. As the live stream concluded, you both felt a sense of fulfillment, knowing that your unexpected evening had turned into an unforgettable experience for both you and your dedicated audience.
After wrapping up the live stream, you and Sam took a moment to catch your breath and share a laugh at the unexpected turn of events. The energy from the virtual connection lingered, leaving you both with a buzz of excitement.
"I can't believe how much fun that was," Sam remarked, leaning back in his chair.
"Absolutely, our fans are incredible. The questions were wild, and their enthusiasm is contagious," you replied, scrolling through the comments.
Suddenly, your phone buzzed with notifications. It seemed like the live stream had sparked a surge in followers and subscribers. The community was growing, and the excitement in the air was palpable.
"Looks like we gained quite a few new members to the family," Sam noted, his eyes wide with surprise.
"Welcome, everyone! We're thrilled to have you on board," you said, addressing the newcomers. The comments section exploded with greetings and emojis, creating a virtual celebration.
As you and Sam chatted with your fans in the post-live stream glow, an idea struck you. "What if we do a special live stream for the new members? A Q&A just for them?"
Sam's eyes lit up at the suggestion. "That's a fantastic idea! We could make it more intimate, like a welcome party. What do you think, guys? Would you be up for that?"
The response was overwhelmingly positive. The virtual crowd cheered, expressing their eagerness for another live stream. It became clear that your audience was not just there for the ghost adventures but for the genuine connection and camaraderie you shared with them.
"Alright, it's a deal then. We'll plan a special live stream for the new members. Stay tuned for details!" you announced, making mental notes for the upcoming event.
The post-live stream excitement continued as you and Sam interacted with fans in the comment section, discussing ideas for the upcoming special session. The sense of community was thriving, and you couldn't help but feel grateful for the bond you had with your audience.

In the days leading up to the special live stream, anticipation grew among your fans. The comment section on your social media was filled with excitement, questions about the upcoming event, and suggestions for what they'd like to see. It was heartwarming to witness the genuine enthusiasm of your community.
During this time, you and Sam took the opportunity to involve your fans in the planning process. Polls were created to determine the theme of the live stream, with options ranging from a behind-the-scenes look at your ghost hunting equipment to a lighthearted game night. The engagement from your audience was overwhelming, and it became evident that they appreciated being part of the decision-making process.
As the day of the special live stream arrived, both you and Sam were buzzing with excitement. In the aftermath of the special live stream, the positive energy lingered. The sense of community reached new heights, and it was clear that this connection was a two-way street.
Inspired by the success of the special live stream, you and Sam brainstormed more ways to engage with your audience. Fan-submitted ghost stories, collaborative art projects, and even virtual meet-ups were on the table. The possibilities seemed endless, and the excitement in the air was palpable.
The comment section on your social media channels became a hub of activity. Fans eagerly shared their ideas for future live streams, and the creative suggestions were both inspiring and heartwarming. It was as if the community was actively shaping the direction of the content, turning it into a collaborative effort that went beyond the screen.
Embracing this collaborative spirit, you decided to involve your fans in the decision-making process for your next ghost adventure. A series of polls allowed them to vote on locations, types of hauntings, and even the equipment you'd bring along. The engagement was unprecedented, with fans passionately advocating for their choices.
As the plans for the next adventure took shape, the excitement reached a fever pitch. The anticipation wasn't just about the spooky locations; it was about the shared experience, the thrill of being part of something larger than oneself. It was a virtual journey that transcended the digital divide.
In the midst of all this, you and Sam took time to personally connect with fans. Virtual hangouts, surprise live chats, and even responding to fan messages became regular occurrences. The relationship with your audience was evolving into a genuine friendship, with both parties supporting and uplifting each other in various aspects of life.
The special live streams, collaborative projects, and interactive content turned your online presence into a vibrant, living community. It wasn't just about ghost adventures anymore; it was about the shared moments, the laughter, the support, and the joy of being part of something extraordinary.
Looking ahead, you couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected turn of events that led to the special live stream. It was a testament to the power of connection, the magic that happens when creators and fans come together to create something beautiful and meaningful. The journey was far from over, and you were eager to see where the road led next.
In the midst of the growing sense of community, you and Sam decided to take it a step further by introducing a fan spotlight segment in your content. This involved showcasing fan art, sharing their ghost stories, and even inviting some fans to join in on virtual interviews during live streams.
The response was overwhelming. Fans poured their creativity into submissions, whether it was art inspired by your adventures or spine-chilling stories they wanted to share. Each fan spotlight episode became a celebration of the diverse talents and stories within the community.
During the live streams, you made it a point to give shoutouts to fans who actively participated in discussions, creating a positive and inclusive environment. The chat buzzed with excitement as fans saw their names highlighted, fostering a sense of recognition and connection.
To take the interaction to the next level, you organized a virtual fan meet-up. Fans from different parts of the world gathered in a digital space to share their experiences, discuss common interests, and even collaborate on future projects. The meet-up became a testament to the global reach and impact of your community.
Embracing the collaborative spirit, you initiated community challenges. Whether it was a spooky scavenger hunt or a creative contest, fans eagerly participated, showcasing their passion and enthusiasm. The winners were celebrated not just for their achievements but for contributing to the vibrant tapestry of your community.
As your content evolved, you began exploring different formats, including podcasts where you discussed not only ghost adventures but also broader topics suggested by your fans. The podcast format allowed for more in-depth conversations and a closer connection with your audience.
The bond with your fans went beyond the virtual realm. Inspired by their stories, you collaborated with a group of fans to organize a charity event, raising funds for a cause close to the hearts of both the community and yourselves. The event not only made a positive impact but also strengthened the sense of purpose within your growing family.
Reflecting on the journey, you marveled at the organic evolution of your online space. What started as a casual live stream to alleviate boredom had transformed into a thriving community, a place where people found not only entertainment but also friendship, inspiration, and a shared sense of adventure.
As you continued to explore new horizons with your fans by your side, you were grateful for the unique and beautiful journey that had unfolded. The future held endless possibilities, and you couldn't wait to see how this remarkable community would continue to grow and shape the path ahead.

Do you have any paranormal or fantasy romance recs? Thank you :)
Yes, absolutely.
Paranormal:
My favorite paranormal romance series (possibly my favorite romance series in general), which has been very difficult for anyone to top, is Immortals After Dark by Kresley Cole. Very hot, very funny, very high stakes, and very paranormal. A few of my all time books are in here. Definitely has an edge to it, so check your triggers (or feel free to ask me about individual books). It's so divinely insane.
Bride by Ali Hazelwood is a lighter paranormal, obviously, that I actually liked a lot. For people who've only read contemporary and aren't sure if they'd like PNR, this is a good taste test imo. It is a true paranormal romance, but Ali's style still comes through.
Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series is good; I've only read the first two so far, but I definitely enjoyed them. It's like... Vulcans meet shapeshifters? Great for people who enjoy an uptight meets wild moment (like me).
Thea Harrison's Dragonbound is SO good. It's a dragon shifter paranormal romance--I wasn't in love with the next two books in the series, but they are very interesting and I'm going to read more in the series. Dragonbound though... excellent.
Kristen Callihan's Darkest London series is historical paranormal, and another all time favorite series of mine. The one-two punch of Moonglow and Winterblaze just blew my mind. And Evernight? Please. Picture a Victorian romance, but there's an underground of paranormal creatures and societies. Great concept.
Bec McMasters has a series of steampunk-ish paranormal historicals. Her London Steampunk books--they include vampires and werewolves and such, and are really fun. I wasn't as hot on book 3 so I haven't read past that, but I plan on it. And a part of me wonders if my mood just wasn't right for book 3? Happens sometimes.
Sarah Hawley writes some really fun, lighthearted paranormal romances--A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon and A Demon's Guide to Wooing a Witch.
My favorite C.M. Nascosta by far is Run, Run Rabbit, which is a book about WEREWOLF LAWYERS! It's so hot. I love it.
If you want something on the dark gothic spooky side, Sierra Simone's Thornchapel is one of my all-time favorite series--and it's legit pretty creepy.
Fantasy:
Kerri Maniscalco's Kingdom of the Wicked -> Princes of Envy. Legitimately my favorite fantasy series at the moment. Typical disclaimer: you'll see Kingdom of the Wicked marketed as YA. It is not. Dark fantasy, super romantic, super entertaining, love it.
C.L. Wilson's Weathermages of Mystral is great--more traditional high fantasy romance.
A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen is a recent release I love--think viking fantasy romance. And the heroine is initially married to her hero's dad. GASP!
Consort of Fire by Kit Rocha. First in an ongoing series about a princess forced to marry a dragon shifter god she's secretly planning to kill... And her handmaiden, who's also an assassin/her lover. FFM.
Ruby Dixon's Aspects and Anchors series. Pulpy, fun, and adventurous fantasy romance series in which women from our world are hurtled into a fantasy world in this inter-dimensional situation. Super enjoyable and campy.
Milla Vane's A Gathering of Dragons. High stakes high fantasy romance, think battles, royal politics, TRUE enemies to lovers shenanigans.
India's Holton's Dangerous Damsels is like... historical fantasy romance, very whimsical and fun and light, set in an alternate Victorian era with witches and sky pirates and the such. GREAT.

Sam's chats with the void: Petting people's dogs
I've been gaining the courage to ask if I can pay people's dogs every so often, and I wanted to share what has happened so far.
Before I get into this, I never approach someone to pet their service dog, a dog that appears to be getting trained (being handed treats on a semi regular basis), or a dog that appears to be reactive. Unless they have a sign saying they want help with training their dog, approaching these dogs can be harmful.
Into the more lighthearted stuff!
So far nobody has said no! One person said "someone should be meeting us here soon, and then we'll have to be on our way," but even that wasn't a no. (That dog was an old golden retriever btw. Super friendly and gentle. Loved getting some slow massage like pats.)
One time I asked someone in a park if I could pet their dog, and they said yes. The dog wasn't super interested in being pet, but was having a fun time sniffing around while the owner and I got talking. The owner had their phone ring, they said "oh I have to take this, could you entertain her for a minute?" And handed me a ball. That dog and I had so much fun for about 15 minutes while the owner took the call. After she thanked me, because her dog gets bored when they stay still for too long, and she has a hard time multi-tasking. I was just happy I got to bond with the dog in the way she enjoyed.
Sometimes I've been given instructions for how to interact with the dog to make sure I wouldn't mess up any training. Things like "If they jump up, stop all interacting with them, and turn around." Usually those dogs are puppies, and I'm happy to make sure they don't get confused in their training.
I really recommend asking to pet people's dogs.make sure to be polite, and be taking extra care to read the dog's body language. Let them sniff you before seeing if they want pets, and definitely do not chase them. Be kind to the dog and the owner. Talk to the owner, and talk about dogs or something.
And most important of all, if the owner says no, don't pet their dog. Also don't pet their dog before asking (even if the dog has greeted you). They may be busy, know something you don't know, or just not want to deal with a stranger, and that is perfectly okay.
But if the owner says yes...

Silly question, because why not (Also, I keep seeing people going on about these 2 movies and it made me want to ask).
If the characters had to choose whether to see 'Barbie' or 'Oppenheimer'; which would they go to? Would they decide to see both on the same day, choose to see just one of the movies, or just not be interested in either of them?
Though, to ask a hopefully not silly question (to compensate).
Would movies exist (even if it's just in the cities/ bigger towns) in the story's universe (be it silent movies or black and white movies) or would the form of entertainment/leisure moreso be the theatre, art exhibitions, the opera (or would the technology in the universe be advanced enough to have the radio, and have radio dramas or anything like that)etc.?
Haha! Serious asks, silly asks - I love any type of question, and these were fun ones!
Regarding the first question:
I believe the Physician would have an interest in historical movies, and more serious movies overall, and would therefore be more interested in Oppenheimer.
Aubrey wouldn't be actively interested in either - as a matter of fact, he would probably be unaware that either of them existed. He would keep himself up to date with horror movies, as a fan of the macabre, but quite out of touch regarding other movies. That said, if he had a friend or a partner who wanted to go see any of them with him, he would gladly join.
I can see Vesa being interested in both, and she would gladly watch both at the same day - she would probably enjoy the dissonance between two vastly different movies in one day. I can definitely imagine her being a movie fan overall.
Narciso wouldn't be too interested in mainstream movies, but if a friend or a partner wanted to watch Oppenheimer with him, why not? That could be interesting. If they wanted to watch Barbie with him, he would tell them that it seemed silly, but... Oh, they really want his company? Fine... But another genre next time, please.
Roswhen would be more interested in Barbie, because they would enjoy something more lighthearted, fun, and colourful.
Elan would be disinterested in both. He would take one look and think that 'Barbie seems too cheery and chipper, and Oppenheimer seems too serious and possibly sad to be entertaining.'
Regarding the second question:
I imagine that technology hasn't gotten far enough for movies and radio as of yet, so entertainment and leisure would be what you mentioned - theatre, opera, art galleries, and so on. I almost wish it had, though, because I find silent movies cool and highly enjoy writing about a variety of art-forms (and also, Vesa would adore it, but the poor lady will have to wait for a while...) but I have a hard time imagining it.

Just finished Psych season 3. Those last 2 episodes sure were something /pos.
Episode 15 (“Tuesday the 17th”), the celebration of all things slasher, was an interesting one for me to watch, just being me. I stay as far away from horror as I possibly can. I do not like scary things. But I decided to be brave and commit to watching the episode regardless. If it got to be too much, I would try to look at it from a filmmaking point of view to alleviate the fear. And in doing that, it was abundantly clear just how much passion went into that episode. The slasher movie inspirations were embraced in full force, with so many classic filmmaking techniques and sound design elements. The damn colour correction. It was a genuine work of art. And, funnily enough, I watched that episode on Friday, January 13th, 2023.
The finale though. Episode 16, “An Evening with Mr. Yang.” A masterpiece of television storytelling, if I do say so myself. An exceptional balance of tension, humour, and emotion. A thoroughly entertaining ride from start to finish, with callbacks and character growth and all sorts of other good stuff like that. But what I loved the most, personally, was the deconstruction of Shawn as a character. We finally get to see further beneath the surface, past the facade of charisma and comedic references. And it’s so well done. The slow stripping away of the callousness and lighthearted quips. Confiding in Gus and relying on him to pick up that mantle in his place. The refusal to keep playing by someone else’s rules, especially in a game with stakes as high as life and death. Speaking of, the escalation of the stakes in this episode was absolutely stellar, it was a phenomenally natural progression that kept you on the edge of your seat the whole way through.
There’s this one moment in particular that really sticks with me, where the normally unflappable Shawn Spencer flinches. It’s at the abrupt and blunt description of his mother’s potential demise at the hands of a bomb, which is an understandable thing to flinch at. But it’s still a surprising involuntary display of vulnerability from Shawn, directly in front of the antagonist no less. And that really drove home the level of strength and courage that he was displaying throughout the episode, persisting and succeeding in the face of the unfair circumstances in which he finds himself. James Roday Rodriguez’s performance in this episode is a definite standout, it’s brilliant. That choice alone, the flinch, is a goldmine in itself. I also went back and watched the breakdown scene in the Psych office multiple times as soon as I finished the episode, it’s so damn good.
I’m so glad I finally got around to watching this show, it’s an absolute delight! And the blooper reels are such a treat, it really does feel like a perfect fit for me. :D

So, A Wound Left Bleeding is still, very much so, in progress, but since I'm still a bit iffy on if there'll be a part 3, or if maybe I'll just do more shorts here and there after part 2 instead or what have you, (I got no idea for sure since that's so far in the future and all) How about some ideas for other FNaF AU's I may write, or at the very least, draw and toss ideas around for after part 2 of AWLB wraps up? After all, I've always been a creature who adores AU's, and tends to make a bunch for any fandom thing that catches my eye, and upon returning to FNaF after years of putting it aside, it has absolutely captured my interest again and got the old AU machine going! So below, I'll be leaving the (Right now, pretty loose basic ideas) of AU's I've thought of for after AWLB part 2 is finished. Again, they're pretty loose ideas right now, don't wanna devote too much attention to em yet and derail my trains of thought with AWLB. XD; So things will very likely change once it's time for these AU's to potentially take the spotlight. In no particular order we have~
Species Swap AU: I've currently got no idea what to title this one, so it's just keeping the placeholder name there until I figure it out, the bare bones basic idea for this one is simple: Most of the animatronic characters are human here, and most of the humans are animatronics. I foresee this one still having some angst and serious/heavier moments/themes in it, but generally being a more lighthearted AU than AWLB. General Summary: Roommates Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy currently work at a large arcade, or rather, its more like an indoor amusement part, owned and operated by William Afton; it seemed like your run of the mill center for mindless entertainment at first, but things changed when he introduced a new aspect to the place: Animatronics. At a glance nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, they had quite astonishing AI sure, but what else would one expect from someone who owns such a renowned robotics company; but still, there's just a nagging feeling that something isn't quite right about these machines. After Freddy finds himself impulsively stealing one of them that's been spending a lot of time around him while he's at work, several of the other animatronics begin to mysteriously go missing as well, something William Afton is more than a little unhappy with. Fearful of being caught red handed with the animtronic he stole, Freddy and the other's do their best to unravel the mystery of what's going on with these animatronics in the first place, and where they've all gone, while trying to keep Freddy's new mechanical pal, Gregory, just out of William's reach as well.
Sentimental Nightmares (placeholder title): This one, I'm not sure I could make a whole long fic out of, but it's an idea I still think would be fun to play around with, it's an off-shoot “What if” to AWLB General Summary: Plushtrap and the other Nightmares seldom understand what a human is, or how it's any different from them; there's obviously something different about their playmate, but understanding what that is is a different story. One thing's for certain, they've begun to piece together that their games are far from fun for Michael, and generally speaking, something is terribly wrong with the boy, and their creator is doing a terrible job of fixing him to ensure he won't break down and end their games forever. Perhaps if Mr. Afton can't repair him, they need to take matters into their own horribly twisted metallic claws, and try and figure out what makes a human different, and how you put them back together when they fall apart.
What's Left (Potentially a placeholder title): This one I think is the one I came up with first (after AWLB of course), so let's just get into it. Definitely not a more lighthearted one. General Summary: After Charlie's sudden and violent death, Henry loses the will to live, and soon after, takes his own life, via one of his own creations, a springlock suit. However, death wasn't the end for him or Charlie, their souls trapped and warped within their new metallic hosts, Charlie is hellbent on seeking revenge for herself, while Henry's soul wanders aimlessly, in an attempt to find his lost daughter and son again. Many years later, Sammy Emily is determined to find a way to free the souls of his family from their would be eternal prisons and torment, but the only person who may even be able to begin to understand how all this happened in the first place, is his father's old business partner and friend, William Afton. Sammy is more than aware of how untrustworthy the man is, but he has few options, cooperating with William is his best bet. William on the other hand, seeking immortality, and seeing potential in reaching it by binding souls to machines, is convinced that there must be a way to replicate what happened to Charlie and Henry in a way that won't cost you your mind, and he's more than willing to sacrifice everyone in order to find the key to it all; better to use others as guinea pigs first and only do it on yourself once you know the right way to do it for sure, right? But getting close enough to Henry and Charlie himself to try and learn the secrets of their eternal lives is easier said than done for William, best to keep Sammy in one piece until he gets what he wants from them... That doesn't mean he has to do the same for others at his disposal however...
Spirits AU (placeholder title): The newest of the ideas! Hit me at random during my lunch break lol. So not a whole lot on this one yet for sure, and definitely gonna need to iron things out more, but! General idea! General Summary: Long ago, the world was inhabited by an abundance of powerful spirits, some were playful, others dangerous, but all of them preferred to take on the appearances of humanoid animals, they were quite commonplace, and generally seen as a welcome sight; as time marched on and belief in them waned, they vanished, buried into the likes of folklore and fairytales, though some stories say they still appear at times to children, or to those in need. Sometimes, just to those who they're curious about. In the modern day, stories of sightings of them are chocked up to little more than children with wild imaginations, but the stories told by Charlie, Sammy, Michael, Elizabeth, Evan, Gregory and Cassie are growing a bit too detailed to brush aside. And those around them aren't all showing interest for the best reasons. Which one I play around with after AWLB really comes down to motivation, focus, and free time for myself, but! I still wanna know, which of the 4 are ya'll most curious about? :3

Yorumorukimiri Bonds of Tails is definitely the Towelket game of all time. This is the second game out of three games in the Yorumorukimiri series. My feelings on this one are a bit mixed so let's just hop right into it.
So the story goes as follows. You play as a Tanuki from a the country side who suddenly gets invited to a school that gives out "angels" to it's students. So you hop in the magic flying train and start your life at this new school.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Compared to the first Yorumoru game, the tone of this game is definitely more lighthearted. And honestly? It really works. This game is just adorable.
Now, it should be noted that this game is technically not a direct sequel to the first Yorumoru. If anything it's more like a completely separate timeline from the first game. Angels are still a thing and the location of Yorumorukimiri is still a thing, however they clearly operate on slightly different rules.
Some characters from the first game do return, however since this is essentially a new world and all, they don't really retain any memories from the first game's events. Though interestingly enough, it's not really in the typical Towelket fashion where characters essentially play different roles every game. In this game their personalities are more or less intact, they're just under different circumstances.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Visually the game just looks amazing. All the tilesets have been updated as well as the sprites. Definitely a far cry from the first game's painful mishmash of reused assets. Everything really just fits together really well especially for the tone of the game.
Most of the characters are surprisingly fun, even the ones that purely exist for the funnies and nothing more were still entertaining without ever overstaying their welcome. Honestly it's kind of insane just how charming this game is.
I only really took issue with a couple of characters and unfortunately this is where my feelings on the game as a whole get mixed.
Similar to the last Yorumoru, we're once again dealing with a silent protagonist. They're accompanied by their roommate Oko-chan who also has a lackluster personality and...well you can see where this is going.
These two who are supposed to be our main characters really just fall short when compared to the rest of the cast. I could tell they were attempting to make Oko-chan a more mysterious character that was meant to intrigue the player but she just never really did anything that actually grabbed my attention? She just comes off as this quiet girl who likes the protagonist for no reason and uh...whatever this is...
Tumblr media
Like I really couldn't be bothered to care about her character and her relationship with the protagonist who doesn't speak when there were a lot more interesting characters that took up more screen time.
It also doesn't really help that it just feels like these two characters almost exist in this weird vacuum. Oddly enough, the rest of the cast don't really acknowledge the protagonist and Oko-chan presence...? Like yes, if you interact with them, they will say something. But it often felt more like they were just talking amongst themselves than speaking to the character directly. Sometimes Oko-chan will comment on something but that's as far as their interactions go. At most, some of the characters may mention your relationship with Oko-chan but that's about it.
The antagonists kind of fall flat as well. It's kind of similar to Towelket 4's problem where they just never got enough screen time to actually feel like an active threat.
Then there's the ending. I'm not gonna spoil it but uhhhh yeah. It really does just come out of nowhere and not in the good way. That's really all I have to say about it. Admittedly, it gets expanded upon in the third game but that game is a whole other beast that I'll talk about later.
But as for now, I really did enjoy this game. It took me about 16 hours to complete and it surprisingly never felt like it was just dragging on. Honestly I really wouldn't even mind if it was longer. It's stupidly entertaining finding all the little extra interactions you can come across during the night sequences in the dormitory.
But unfortunately, that ending did leave just the slightest bitter taste in my mouth. Will the third and final game's ending save it? Who knows! Find out next time on Towelket Diary! (Whenever I feel like talking about the next one lmao)
Anyway here's some funnies to leave off with-
