thank you so much for all the support on my top surgery fundraiser, whether it's donating, reblogging or just staying patient with while i boost the link multiple times. which i am going to keep doing! it's no understatement that this is the single biggest positive thing that's happening in my life, and the time i need your help most. so i'm making my voice heard as much as i possibly can to spread the word, and i appreciate all your help with it. it makes me feel loved as a person and not as a bunch of posts on a dashboard, i've been getting pretty isolated because of mental health stuff so even the small connection we have from your act of goodwill is really meaningful to me

i've been ok, mostly putting in work on my masters degree, although some of the 'work' included having a massive breakdown from months of burnout, and i'm currently in the middle of trying to get an extension and rework a large part of my project. mostly this is due to the subject matter of my work having had a lot of loaded cultural and personal themes, which, when being forced to think about nonstop for two years, while also moving in with the family member who is the source of a large part of all the trauma of it, was just too much. taking a stance to axe the project in its current form was hard and made me feel like a quitter but now i feel relief and realize it was an act of self love as well

so i'm trying to recover from that and see a way forward to a project i would like doing, but it's hard when your circumstances have left you this depressed. i'm also trying to become more mindful of the way i use social media because when i'm anxious i fall very easily into the numbness sink of scrolling social media just to avoid thinking... i've stared a daily list of Ten Things That Happened That Day That Didn't Happen On The Internet, although i never get to ten, and i dont think even pre-internet leon would have gotten to ten, but it's good to aim high and take notice even of the little things. maybe to some people this comes naturally but i have to be very deliberate about it. i think this article sums up how im starting to feel about the internet rn

i've cut most personal spending down as much as possible to save up to my top surgery, so i have to find fun things to do that don't cost money. i'm trying to sew because my partner knows a lot about it and can teach me (i'm currently trying to engineer the perfect underwear, weird hobby but it's actually an amazing dysphoria-buster because most store bought underwear that fits my ass is so feminine, to be able to make a piece of something so intimate be so personal is, omg, an act, of, omg, self love). i've also sold off some things to help save for my top surgery and doctor visits, i'm trying to not get rid of anything i will really miss but it's also an enjoyable feeling to imagine the item disappearing as it becoming a permanent part of my history and of my sexy flat boy body (~o_o)~

if i end up having some free time outside of my masters degree, my current dream project is making pixel assets. i think with all the cases of my art getting stolen and used without permission it would actually be really cool to put something together specifically for public use. i miss kaoani and flower banners and stuff. i dont know if i can ever make something so saccharinely cute and tidy but if anything it's a nice space to visit

did you miss me coming to tumblr to make long winded posts about nothing? hopefully when twitter falls we will all be on here reading each others paragraphs, hopefully i'll have more going on in my life and can write even longer ones. here is a nice drawing, and a link to the fundraiser once again :)

Next, some initial thoughts on the platform for those who are kinda curious what this new thing is. Not at all an expert, just some info I've gathered myself, that I'd personally have liked to know before joining:

On Threads

・It launched July 5~6, 2023. Rollout varies by country.

・Twitter's already upset about it, apparently there's a lawsuit. So I guess it considers Threads a possible threat.

・It's run by Meta, same folks as Insta and Fb.

・The accounts are directly linked to Instagram, which has its pros and cons. You need an Insta account to make a Threads account, but if you already have an Insta account, it's very easy to make a connected Threads account. However, once linked, they're linked; you can't disable your Threads account without also disabling your Insta account. You can also automatically follow all the accounts you're already following on Insta, to be activated as they make Threads accounts. You can also share Threads posts to your Insta stories.

・Currently only on mobile app, hoping the'll make it desktop accessible soon

・The current audience mostly seems to be folks who have come direct from Instagram. This means yes, a lot of official/influencer accounts, but also a lot of artists/small creators too.

Functionality

・Right now, the "feed/dashboard" is a hot mess. It's just one massive algorithmic spew, no way to curate it, no way to see just the posts by the folks you're following, not even chronological. These are things that i personally require in a social media, so yeah it sucks rn. HOWEVER, they did state that they're working on a "followers only" feed, much like the one on Instagram. If they implement a Followers Only feed like Insta, it'll at least be much better than Twitter's current "Following" feed. There has been no timeline provided on when this may launch.

・It functions much the same as Twitter, with options to create new posts, and like, retweet, quote retweet, and reply to posts made by others. (There's still a lot of floundering about the exact terminology to use, since it's not twitter so you can't "retweet" etc)

・500 Character word limit per post, which is much more than Twitter, ey!

・Up to 10 images per post, doesn't seem to cause image quality reduction either. Rather than being able to arrange the images like on Tumblr though, they're all automatically in a carousel that you can see by swiping.

・Your bio can be the exact same as what's on your insta, but currently only shows followers. In order to see who you follow, you tap "followers" and then when the menu opens, swipe to "following." Then, you can tap on the individual accounts to view their pages. This is currently the only way to ensure you see the posts from certain accounts, because there's no guarantee they'll show up on your feed, and it's a huge pain. But again, they're hopefully working on a fix for this.

My understanding is that the app rushed to launch now, since Twitter is a dumpster fire and people are fleeing. (why is it a dumpster fire? Well, Musk implemented a randomly fluctuating tweet view limitation, which is dumb af, but means it's essentially become unusable to folks who use the platform a lot)

I'm hoping that there'll be improvements to Threads and it'll become a viable Twitter alternative, but until then...yeah we'll keep an eye on it.

Alr time to clog up some poor souls’s dashboards let’s do this.

(Warning: this is a long-ass post abt my rw au, if you don’t really feel like reading all of this rn, feel free to keep scrolling:))

They were built to solve a problem, some of them were even worshipped, they were compared to gods, but they were gods,they just didn’t know it anymore. 

To put it simply, this au of mine features the iterators as somewhat more literal in the god sense. They all have different designations and things they can make and/or control. 

At first, there were three “primordial gods” (almost comparable to the Titans from Greek mythology if you know that kinda stuff), who sort of controlled/made things out of the earth sky and void. The first is Greatest Azure Abyss, the sky(she’s the first one in the picture). Second is Terrace of Endless Boulders, the earth/ground(and the second one in the picture). And lastly The Voided Gold, who is pretty much the void itself for all intents and purposes(and obviously third one in the pic).

In this au the ancients probably just came  about from however they would’ve in canon, with minimal interference from the three beta-iterators running around. At some point they would’ve discovered ascension, which TVG was fine with, being the void itself. However, just like in canon, the echoes became a thing, as TVG didn’t want anything too attached to a different world trespassing on its own. 

At some point the other two gods woulda been found, and through methods I have not come up with yet and probably never will, the ancients start finding ways to utilize them to run iterations on how to ascend without the void.

This obviously doesn’t sit well with any of the three, and so they eventually settled for trying to create their own allies with their own powers to keep their freedom in check. 

The Sun, the Moon, the Vines and the Wind, among many others were all attempts for this, but when the ancients figured out how to control gods, they used that power. 

Ofc in canon the ancients are clearly able to use taboos for mostly anything they want the iterators to do or not do, which meant all it took was something that tethered their new puppets to strings and took away their memories of old powers to get their way regardless. At this point the three original Iterators would’ve been slowly cranking out various gods, only for them to be taken and repurposed for the thing they were supposed to be fighting. 

At some point the original three would have slowed down/stopped with their creations entirely, shortly before the mass ascension. 

At this point so far in the timeline I’ve imagined things get a little fuzzy. For the most part none of the iterators know what they are, the Pebbles rot thing still happens, and some time after, Suns breaks the taboo keeping them and their powers ‘n shit in check from the ancients time, and that’s when the present kicks off! 

Ok that was a long post, my fingers kinda hurt rn :,) But for future reference I’m gonna put down the main local group’s godly designations  here:

LttM: Goddess of the moon and water(ironic ik) 

SRS: God of the daylight, the sun, and fire

NSH: God of Plants(and possibly the winter/seasons, more on that in a future post)

CW: God of the wind and birds

UI: God of charms/magic and things like that(it’s kinda hard to explain? I’ll do by best to elaborate further in the future if possible)

FP: Minor God of the earth and stones(ToEB is the main god of the earth, way to make the bug feel extra small and sad :,D

Hello all! I have been so busy! So so busy! I started working as a TA finally. The class is online this semester which made me think it would be chill. It is not! The professor didn't respond to any of my emails initially and after asking when I'd want to meet, he somehow missed my immediate follow-up :/. I wanted to ask him to be my practicum advisor because I enjoyed his class but after that I'm not really feeling it anymore. I do have another professor I really enjoy this semester, and I'm thinking of asking him instead.

The backlog is crazy, I'm really trying but there are so many dashboards. I also fell sick over the weekend which isn't helping. I'm gonna try and knock out as many as I can but man,,,,man.

In other news, I am a part of a little competition. I signed up and forgot about it and I regret it slightly because now I'm doing more work on top of my current work which sucks. On the bright side it'll be over in the next couple of weeks, and I may get a couple hundred dollars if my team wins! It's mostly medical students and PhD students, so I do feel a bit outclassed only being in my masters rn, but we're still having a good time, and they appreciate my ideas and design skills.

I had a little moment where I deleted all my (temporarily deletable) social media. I got overwhelmed and needed a little break lol. I later found out my younger sibling had the exact same thing happen despite being at a college a few hours away and not talking for a while. We're twinning!

Overall this month has been a rather messy one and I kind of blipped out and got very overwhelmed. I'm maintaining good grades in my classes which is nice. Hopefully I'll be more active in the future, but man. Man!!

this question is dangerous LMFAOO i’ve got too many man TOO many. i think the reason why is bc the aus i usually write about require that i pad out seasons 4-52 with a bunch of random ultimates and a few of them have definitely stuck with me!! i’ve rambled about the ultimate miner here, but the other one i think about the most is the ultimate free runner only because she’s recently resurfaced in my mind lmfao. her name gets updated every week lol rn it’s naomi ishikawa 👍🏻👍🏻 personality wise she has this like character arc where at the beginning she is really paranoid and runs a lot bc yknow. free runner. but eventually she grows close to a few people !! when i originally created her she was a part of season 50, and because it was the 50th season danganronpa wanted to go big so they had the first ever canon case of a class failing a trial with naomi SOMEHOW making it outta there as the sole survivor. so u can imagine the kind of stress she is under </3

Hello everyone! I felt the need to explain the situation to everyone, the reason behind the lack of activity ( and the even slower pace I'll be replying to things ). This isn't venting you know, just slightly personal stuff, with a dose of stress and optimism!

As some of you might now, I'm in the search for a job for the last few months ( oof ) and until I do that, I won't find a moment of rest, hah, cause well, that's all I care about ( I need change in my life, a pace I can set, the means to make my life better etc. ). My psychology has been getting better (!) in the last few weeks, I returned to my usual optimistic self ( plus ultra! ) but my headaches have returned and so has the lack of energy ( plus I've been struggling with gaining weight, cause well, even if I eat ten times more than the normal person, my metabolism is too fast and eating has turned to a full-time job lol ). Other than the usual stuff, I'm staying hopeful, and looking forward to using the zero energy I have to be productive. Writing's the only hobby I'm interested in rn, but I guess, the stress, my headaches, my crappy sleeping schedule, won't let me write the things I usually write.

I do write. I've written a bunch of replies, but none I like enough worth posting. And I don't like half-assing things. I want to return to all of you the EXCITEMENT you've given me reading your replies/asks and I need to do this properly. Me not posting stuff, doesn't mean I'm not working on your replies, I just hadn't the mind to give it the creativity it deserves. And I'll be slow, for as long as my health's crap, and I'm not a working adult. Hopefully, finding a job will begin to fix things and make me ten times more active! ( Lack of free time has never been a problem, I've always had time to write, I just need to manage my life better, and I'll be more here from that point on ).

I guess that makes it clear why I'm not much active, and I'll continue being for a while. But, your writing inspires me, gives me so much pleasure to read and respond to, and no matter how old a thread/starter/ask ( years old? a rusty christmas lovely thread from the 2019 or something? ) I plan to get to EVERYTHING! Thank you for your patience and understanding! I hope you'll stick around a little longer, and mostly, it'll be worth the wait! ⊂⁠(⁠・⁠﹏⁠・⁠⊂⁠)
