22 december 2022
it’s been a nice few days. yesterday was our second day skiing and we got to the slopes around 9.30 in the morning. it was so nice going back to the lodge that we used to go to as kids. so nostalgic. even my little brother said he felt nostalgic and that was weird cause i always think of him as a little kid with no real thoughts i guess. we skied for a few hours and then got lunch at a different lodge and went back on the slopes until about 3pm. we got back to our condo as the sun was setting and then went for an early dinner at a really cute godzilla themed japanese restaurant. they were playing some funny japanese pop and rap and there were old godzilla posters all over the walls. so cool. i got a lavender milk tea boba and a california roll. when we got back home it was dark and we went to the hot tub which was like lukewarm and kinda uncomfortable. there were like six drunk college boys in the hot tub and some of them went to the college near my hometown which was so random considering we’re like a seven hour drive away. we watched the first half of inception and then went to bed early. well i guess i didn’t really go to bed early cause i stayed up watching attack on titan lol. i’m rewatching the last half of season 4 cause i genuinely can’t remember if i finished it when it came out.
today we did basically the same exact thing. got to the slopes at around 9am and skied for a few hours then got lunch at the lodge. this guy was barbecuing outside and it smelled so good like campfire smoke. i got pulled pork and coleslaw and mac n cheese. today was probably my favorite day skiing. i went off by myself for a few hours and skied all the slopes that i used to as a kid. it was so nice. i went down my first black diamond and didn’t eat shit so that was cool. we got back to our condo at like 3pm and immediately went in the hot tub which was very hot and very nice. it was about an hour before sunset and the sky was so blue and the clouds had an orange tinge to them. i took a hot shower and finally washed my hair which felt so good and then we went to a cute little pizza place for dinner. we got home around 7 and finished inception. honestly loved it i thought it was so good and the cast is obviously perfect. i have a crush on cillian murphy and tom hardy and joseph gordon levitt so like.. also love that you can hear cillian murphy’s irish accent in some words he says.
i’m a little nervous to fall asleep tonight cause i’ve been having crazy vivid dreams for the past week and watching inception is probably gonna fuck them up even more. i think it’s because i was smoking basically every night since august and i then haven’t smoked at all since friday. whenever i stop smoking like that i get crazy dreams. i kind of love it though. my dreams are really important to me and i love when i can remember them. lately thought they’ve been so long and confusing that it would be way to hard to try to write them down. which is kinda sad.
anyway we’re getting up early tomorrow and driving home so i’m gonna try to read and fall asleep early but i honestly might end up finishing attack on titan cause i only have a few episodes left. we’re picking up my older brother on the drive back so he can be home for christmas and ugh his whole existence gives me anxiety so i’m nervous about that. but i’m excited to be home cause i’m gonna be staying at my dads house by myself and taking care of the animals while he’s away in jerusalem. his house is my happy place and i’m hoping staying there and taking care of the dogs and cats and chickens and walking in the backyard forest will calm down my anxiety. probably not but i might as well hope. also hoping that i get to see my ex while i’m home because i always get sad around christmas and he’s made it better for the past four years. but that’s probably something that i shouldn’t get my hopes up about cause i always get let down when it comes to him. yeah now i’m sad so i’m gonna watch aot.

Bangchan:
Tumblr media
Dates with Chan had been sparse lately. It wasn’t his fault. They were doing promotions for a comeback and Chan had absolutely zero free time and any time he did have, despite his protests, you wanted him to spend resting. “Y/n, please! I wanna see you!” Chan whined over the phone.
You sighed and looked at the time. The boys were still at the company, but would most likely be at the dorms in an hour or two. “Okay how about this. I’ll come over to the dorms and cook dinner for you and the boys tonight. That way you guys can have dinner as soon as you get home.” There was silence on the phone. “Chan? Chris? You there, love?”
“Sorry, you just made my heart explode.”
You laughed and hung up the phone. After a short car ride, you were inside the dorm and cooking a nice dinner for your incredible boyfriend and his band members. The steam from the cooking vegetables were starting to make you sweat a little. Grabbing a clip from your bag you pulled your hair out of your face and continued making the boys a good meal.
“Y/NNNNNNNNN!” Several boys screamed as the dorm door burst open. You smiled and finished putting food on plates. Felix attacked you with a hug and Hyunjin and Jisung followed soon after. “This looks really good, Y/n,” Felix said when everyone was seated at the table, Chan beside you. “I’m glad to have a break from cooking for these weirdos.”
Soon Chan was sending all the boys off to bed with full bellies and food comas. “I’ve missed you so much,” He said taking your hands and sitting on the arm of the couch. “You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to see you and talk to you, to hold you, and... other things,” Chan said blushing.
“What kind of other things?”
Chan looked down and shrugged, his dimples making a shy appearance. You watched him play with your fingers, subconsciously pulling you closer to him. It didn’t take a psychic to know what was on his mind. With a smile, you leaned down and pressed your lips against his. He smiled into the kiss, his thumb rubbing over your skin. When you pulled away Chan had the dopiest grin across his face. He fell back onto the couch, staring up at the ceiling in a trance making you laugh.
“That was so awesome.”
Minho:
Tumblr media
Minho sat next to you on the couch. He wasn’t necessarily close to you, but he wasn’t on the farthest side of the sofa either. The boys had been hinting that maybe your feelings for Minho were reciprocated. You had been reading into everything lately and you still came up with nothing. Minho was impossible.
The focus of the boy next to you was heavily trained on his phone. Some random game was enticing his attention away from you. Giving up, you crossed your arms and stared at the TV.
After letting out many precisely planned sighs hoping to grab Minho’s attention and failing you conceded and started flipping channels. Settling for a drama you watched the soap opera romance that played out on the screen. An hour passed and your stomach was beginning to growl.
“I’m gonna order a pizza.” You said pulling out your phone. Minho hummed in response. rolling your eyes you walked into the kitchen to grab a soda for you and the thick headed boy in your living room. The doorbell rang and you looked to the couch. Minho showed no sign of getting up still zoned in on his phone. “Don’t worry I’ll get it.” Your feet trudged over the door and you gave the pizza guy a half assed smile.
“Hi! That will be $22.46.” The boy smiled when you handed him the money as well as a nice tip. “Thanks, have a good night!”
You closed the door and plopped back onto the couch setting the pizza on the coffee table. A hand grabbed your wrist before you could open the hot cardboard box. Minho smashed his lips on yours, hand coming to the back of your neck. He pushed you onto the couch, hovering on top of you. Caught up in the moment your hands tangled in his hair enticing Minho to deepen the kiss.
As quickly as he had come onto you, he retreated, moving back to his previous spot on the couch and reaching for the pizza. You lay on the couch, completely confused. “What the hell was that?” Minho shrugged acting as if nothing had happened.
“What?” He picked up a slice and took a bite out of it. “I’m not allowed to kiss my girlfriend?”
You shook your head in disbelief. What? “Girlfr- What? When did this happen?” Again he shrugged like this was common knowledge you were the dumbest person on the planet, and you were starting to feel that way. He thought you were dating already?
“Y/n, you’ve cat-sitted for me at least twenty times. In my book, we are in a committed relationship after ten.” He handed you a slice of pizza and turned back to the TV. You watched as he threw an arm around your shoulders and pulled you into his side. “Congrats on being my girlfriend, dummy.”
Changbin:
Tumblr media
“Seo Lewis Changbin!”
“Oh no.” Your best friend mumbled. He took off his headphones and turned to see you marching through the door of his studio. The pissed off expression on your face said everything and also nothing. Changbin only had a matter of seconds to recount everything he had done in the last twenty-four hours and apologize or face the consequences. “Hi, gorgeous, how’s your day?”
You simply rose an eyebrow and he quickly shut up. “Changbin, do you have something to tell me?” You could see the gears turning in his brain. The gears screaming ‘what did I do wrong this time’.
It was honestly a little fun to watch him squirm. You crossed your arms and ignored the giggles coming from the other side of the studio door. You knew Felix and Seungmin had followed you down the hall. They were the ones who told you about Changbin in the first place. “I’m sorry that I used your sweatshirt to clean up Minho’s cat piss. But you can have my hoodie.”
“YOU WHAT?”
He screamed as my hands attacked any unshielded spot on his body. “Stop! STOP! I BRUISE EASILY!” You huffed and stepped away. Changbin rubbed his bicep as if you had actually hurt him. “I’m sorry okay!” He scorched farther away from you. Though you had gotten him to confess it wasn’t the secret you were looking for.
“While I am pissed about that, and you will be getting me a new hoodie, that isn’t what I was talking about.” Changbin watched with wary eyes as you inched forward and leaned on the arms of his office chair. “I had a little conversation with Seungmin and Felix earlier.” Changbin visibly gulped.
“Oh no.”
“Oh yes.”
“They sold me out?”
“They did indeed.” Changbin’s ears turned a dark shade of red. How you had never noticed your effect on your best friend before you would never know. Possibly because you were too focused on your own infatuation. Leaning forward, you pressed your lips to his, capturing them in a sweet kiss. Tilting your head you let your teeth drag slowly across Changbin’s bottom lip.
“Was that like a friend kiss or-?” Changbin asked when you pulled away. You rolled your eyes and kissed him again before he could ask another stupid question.
Hyunjin:
Tumblr media
Hyunjin was walking you home after a late night boba date. His hand was intertwined with yours as you walked in the warm spring air. “When is your next free day?” You asked swinging your hands as you strolled down the dimly lit streets. You felt safe with your boyfriend next to you.
He hummed, head lifting to the sky in thought. “I think...two weeks from now?” You sighed and he brought your hand up to his lips, kissing your knuckles. “I know, baby.” It was hard not seeing Hyunjin. He himself was having withdrawal issues from your company and the boys were starting to notice. His dating ban wasn’t up for another three months, so the two of you had to sneak around.
“What about nights?” He shooked his head ‘no’ and stopped under a street lamp. Leaning you back against the steel pole, you looked up at Hyunjin. “What about before morning meetings?” Hyunjin laughed, the sound making you smile.
He ran a hand through his blonde hair and dragged his touch down your arm. “Y/n, you and I both know neither of us are going to get up at four thirty in the morning.” You laughed and pulled Hyunjin closer to you, wrapping your arms around his neck.
Hyunjin gave you a soft smile and looked down at you. He made your heart pound in your chest. “I don’t know how I’m going to make it two weeks without you, Jinnie.” He sighed, nuzzling into your neck.
“Believe me, if you can’t then I definitely won’t.” You ran a hand through his soft hair making him sigh in content. Eventually, he pulled away and stared at you with longing. His eyes looked from your eyes to your mouth in question. After seeing the smallest nod he leaned in pressing his lips against yours.
You smiled into the kiss, threading your fingers through Hyunjin’s hair. He pulled away and rested his forehead against yours. “What if I just ran away with you right now?”
“Jisung would absolutely murder you. You’re supposed to record tomorrow.” You said a little breathless, wanting his lips on yours again.
“True. Very true.” He came back, another fiery kiss being shared between you. His tongue swiped across your bottom lip before slipping into your mouth. The two of you savored your last moments together under the dim golden glow of the street lamp.
Jisung:
Tumblr media
“Hey, handsome,” You answered your ringing phone.
Jisung’s tired voice came through the call. “Y/n, baby, can you come over to the dorm?” You checked your watch and saw it was almost 2:30 in the afternoon. Usually, he was at the studio until three in the morning.
“Sure. I’ll be there in like ten minutes.” Slipping on a big hoodie and your shoes you grabbed your wallet and car keys and drove over to the dorms. When you got there most of the boys were in the kitchen or the common room. “Hi guys! Where’s Jisung?”
Chan waved and gave you a hug. “Oh- he’s in his room. Top bunk.” The boys waved as you walked by and you knocked quietly on the last door. A muffled voice belonging to your boyfriend told you to come in. You saw a single sweatpant covered leg hanging off one of the top bunks. Jisung’s head peeked over the side and he gave you a smile.
“Hi!” He said sleepily. Your sock feet padded over to the bed and you looked at him from over the side. “You wanna take a nap with me?” There was no helping the laugh that escaped.
“You called me just to take a nap with you?” He nodded, his eyes already droopy. It looked like he was waiting to fall asleep until you arrived. With a sigh, you began climbing up the ladder and Jisung lifted up the covers giving you a place to lay on his chest. “This is a tiny bed.”
“Shhhh. It’s nap time baby.”
Eventually, the both of you fell asleep. It was easy to relax in Jisung’s arms. He radiated warmth with his arms and legs wrapped around you. Soon your eyes blinked open only to find a dark room. You reached over Jisung to grab his phone. You looked to see it was nearing 11 o’clock at night. “What’s wrong, babe?” Jisung mumbled feeling you move. You told him the time and he laughed. “There’s no point in you leaving, so why don’t you just spend the night?” He whispered.
He smiled feeling you nod and he started running his long fingers through your hair. In the low light, you could only barely make up the features of Jisung’s face. You were only slightly surprised to feel Jisung’s lips on yours. The kiss was slow and sleepy, but sweet none the less. Your hands already around his stomach slipped under his shirt., feeling his warm skin.
Sleepy kisses were exchanged, Jisung’s long fingers playing with your hair and holding you close in the dark. He pulled you on top of him, leaving no space between you. After a while, the both of you fell back asleep and didn’t wake until morning
Felix:
Tumblr media
Felix got a running start before launching himself off the cliff and into the water. You watched from the shore of the little alcove the two of you had found. You cheered seeing your boyfriend resurface in the center of the clear watering hole. “You gonna try?” He called, treading water. You shook your head, and he rolled his eyes. “Come on, there’s a smaller ledge, closer to the water.”
You looked to the rock face Felix had climbed moments earlier. The colors of green and blue were vibrant around you, making your own little paradise. “Fine.” Felix smiled, seeing you shed your coverup and began swimming back to the shore. He took your hand and led you to a smaller ledge half as high as the one he had previously jumped off of. The waterfall roared next to you and Felix laced his fingers with yours.
“Ready?” You nodded, a nervous smile on the corner of your mouth. You were comforted seeing Felix’s grin. “3, 2,..1!” The two of you leaped from the ledge and into the cool clear water, screams escaping as you fell. Felix held onto your hand tightly as the two of you sank beneath the water’s surface. “Wasn’t that fun?” He exclaimed as the two of you swam above the surface.
“Yeah, okay. That was fun.”
Felix smiled as the two of you treaded water. “You wanna do something else fun?” Before you could answer Felix started swimming to the waterfall. Trusting him, you followed. He gently took your hand, lifting you up on the slippery rocks. He led the two of you carefully behind heavy curtain of water into a tiny cave. The roaring of the falls echoed in the small space, obstructing your view of your secret alcove.
“Wow!” You said, reaching your hand under the water. Felix grinned, wet hair falling in front of his eyes. Stepping carefully, he made his way over to you wrapping his arms around your waist.
“Can I kiss you?”
Your eyes widened at his bluntness, but you nodded palms resting against his bare chest. Hesitantly, Felix leaned down and pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was slow at first, then picked up as Felix grew more confident. His lips danced against yours, one of his hands coming to tangle in your hair. The two of you parted, breathe heavy and lovestruck grins plastered on your faces.
Felix pulled away and started to do a little dance making you laugh. “What the hell are you doing?” He just continued to do his weird little dance as you watched and laughed at your dorky boyfriend behind the waterfall.
Seungmin:
Tumblr media
Two weeks after Seungmin and you started dating, he and the rest of the boys left for a US tour.  Thankfully his dating ban had been lifted early after an analysis by the company, so Seungmin was free to spend time with you anytime he wanted as long as it didn’t interfere with his schedules.
Your fingers tapped against your steering wheel. The red light turned green and you drove the rest of the way to the airport. Chan called you early this morning, about two hours ago, and told you their flight was getting in at five-thirty in the morning. You yawned, pulling into Seoul International Airport. Seungmin had called you the night before and told you not to bother meeting him since they would be arriving so early in the morning. But, you were determined.
After asking an attendant she directed you the flight gate the boys would be coming from. The sign you had made in the last hour, was bumping up against your legs as you ran through the cold airport. Seungmin’s sweatshirt was blocking the cold air from hitting your skin as you looked for gate A6.
A few other people were waiting as you approached the gate, but you pushed your way to the front. Your eyes frantically searched the sea of people as passengers came off the plane. Spotting Chan’s curly frizzy hair you held up your sign with a huge grin on your face.
Chan spotted you first and then laughed at your sign. He called back into the group of boys behind him, who all turned to look at you. Before you knew it, your boyfriend was pushing himself to the front of the group and he laughed when he saw your sign, falling to the ground and covering his face.
‘Welcome Home Hot Stuff’ the sign read with a funny meme of Seungmin that Felix had sent you a couple days ago glue on the poster board. Not wanting to be apart from you anymore Seungmin ran over and wrapped you up in his arms. “Y/n, I have missed you so much. Why are you here? It’s 5:30! Is this my sweatshirt? I can’t believe you’re here! Honey, I’ve missed you so much-”
You smashed your lips against his cutting off his ramblings. After getting over the shock, Seungmin kissed you back, dropping everything in his hands. He cupped your face, thumbs brushing over your cheeks. Your head was spinning in the best way possible. “Welcome home, Minnie.” You whispered against his lips, making him smile.
“Let’s go get breakfast.” He said with a smile and took the sign from you, looking at your craft project.
Jeongin:
Tumblr media
Jeongin and you lay on the floor of your dorm room a board game between the two of you. Rain pelted against your window, thunder rolling outside. Jeongin moved his game piece six spaces before looking up at you with a smile. You sat with a mug of warm tea in your hands and Jeongin’s hoodie swallowing you in warmth.
“You are too cute,” Jeongin mumbled, leaning his cheek into his palm.
Attempting to hide your blush, you brought the steaming cup up to your mouth and took a sip. “Jeongin, really you don’t have to stay here. I’m no scared of the storm.” He shrugged and rolled the dice for you, moving it four spaces. You got up, the sweatshirt falling over your shorts. The mug clunked against the wood as you set it on your desk.
Jeongin watched you walk over and pulled you down into his lap. “What if I’m the one scared of the storm?” He questioned, pushing a piece of hair away from your face. Rolling your eyes you giggled and kissed his cheek. “Okay, you’re right. I’m not scared of the storm.”
“Innie, you’re welcome to stay as long as you want. My roommate is staying at her boyfriend’s.”
Jeongin smiled, placing a loving kiss on the side of your neck. He reached over and rolled the dice as lightning flashed outside. The cold air of the dorm made you snuggled deeper into the warm fabric of Jeongin’s hoodie. Sensing movement in his lap he wrapped a protective arm around you as he moved his game piece with his other hand.
“I think I’m going to win in the next two moves.” You said, causing your boyfriend to turn his head. He looked at you with raised brows and laughed.
“Oh really?”
You nodded and moved your piece to the final block on the board. “Yep. I win.” Jeongin laughed and looked into your eyes. His knuckles brushed over your cheek his breath ghosting over your lips. You inched forward, desperately wanting to close the small gap between you. A smirk tilted on the corner of Jeongin’s mouth, seeing your impatience.
Softly, gently, his lips pressed against yours. His lips tasted like coffee, and he smelled like the rain that was falling outside. You dragged your lips against his savoring every moment with him. As you pulled away Jeongin chases after your lips, making you giggle.
Your eyes looked to the window and Jeongin trailed his lips tenderly down your jaw, before resting his chin on your shoulder. “You stand corrected.” He whispered, kissing your lips again. “I win.”

Chapter Nine
Wednesday nights at The Hunter’s Moon weren’t exactly hopping, but the small crowd would do for Jace’s purposes. The atmosphere was familiar, at least, and he wasn’t likely to find better at any of the other bars in town. He’d been on uncertain footing for months, not knowing how to be whatever he and Simon had been. But now, alone, unwanted, and with a soul-deep ache in his chest, he was finally back on familiar ground. This feeling, Jace knew exactly what to do with, and step one was getting very drunk.
He almost hesitated when he saw Maia behind the bar. She must have switched shifts with someone, because she didn’t usually work Wednesdays, and Jace wasn’t prepared for her too-knowing eyes or her pity.
But Maia greeted him with her usual easy smile, so either she didn’t know Simon had moved out, or she didn’t know him half as well as she pretended to.
“Wasn’t expecting to see you here tonight,” she said. “Isn’t tomorrow your god-awful early Latin class?”
Jace shook his head. “That’s Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Can I get a double shot of Stoli?”
Maia’s smile slipped, just a bit, but she nodded and poured his drink. “Starting off strong right out the gate,” she observed. “You want to talk about it?”
“Nope.” Jace tossed back the shot. The heat that followed it down felt less like the usual ripping off an emotional Band-Aid and more like rubbing salt into an open wound. “What I want is another one of those and to find some company for the night.”
Maia paused, bottle in hand. “Okay, no.” She wasn’t even pretending to smile anymore. “I can’t actually stop you from riding whatever self-destructive train you’ve decided to hop on, but I don’t have to enable it, either.”
“You’re a bartender,” Jace said flatly. “It’s your job to pour drinks.”
“I’m your friend, and I’m not pouring you anything else until you tell me why you’re in my bar looking for a drunken hookup instead of at home with your boyfriend.”
“I don’t have a boyfriend.”
“Don’t be obtuse,” Maia told him. “Where’s Simon?”
Jace met her eyes. “Simon left. Can I have my vodka now?”
“What do you mean, ‘he left’? Oh god, did you guys break up?” And there, finally, was the pity he’d been expecting. At least it came with another shot of vodka.
“Can’t break up if you’re not actually dating.” Jace downed his shot. This one didn’t soothe any better, but at least it didn’t make things worse.
Maia gave him a flat look. “You’ve been sleeping together, exclusively, for the past five months.”
“That was just—” He shook his head, trying not to choke on words that he knew were true but still felt like a lie. “Just a couple hookups between friends.”
“Yeah, that’s complete bullshit.” Maia’s tone was so certain. Jace wanted to believe her.
“Don’t know why you’re so surprised. Simon and I hook up with our friends all the time.”
“No,” Maia said slowly. “You hook up with your friends. So does Lily. So do I, sometimes. But Simon?” She gave him a significant look. “Simon doesn’t do casual. He’s just a great guy who stays friends with most of his exes.”
Jace didn’t even try to hide the bitterness in his smile. “Guess I’m an exception to many rules.”
Maia’s voice was soft when she spoke again. “I don’t actually believe you do casual with someone you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year, either.”
Jace looked away. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t bullshit me. Neither of us was actually drunk enough to have forgotten that conversation.” When Jace didn’t respond, she asked, “Why’d he leave?”
“Because he wants something real,” Jace told her. “And he doesn’t want it with me.”
When Jace met her eyes again, he expected to see pity. What he got was pure skepticism. “He said that?”
“Yep.” He lifted his glass. “Pour me another?”
She pursed her lips, then shook her head. “I’ll bring you beer.”
Jace sighed, but he didn’t argue. Maia was a much better friend than she was a bartender.
“You know,” Maia said when she returned with his beer, “I’ve known Simon a long time, and that really doesn’t sound like something he’d say.”
Jace lifted his glass in a toasting gesture. “Guess I just bring out the best in people.”
She sighed heavily, leaning on the bar. “Look, I wasn’t there, so I don’t know what you guys said, and he’s never actually talked to me about it, so I don’t know for sure whether he feels the same way about you that you do about him, but anyone who’s not a complete idiot can see he cares about you. That’s not something he makes any effort to hide. And Simon would never say something that cruel to someone he cares about. So, whatever he said? I’m pretty sure it’s not what you heard.”
“Did you just call me a complete idiot?” He needed to make a joke out of it because he couldn’t let himself believe what Maia was saying. He didn’t have it in him to hope again.
“Yes.” She nudged his hand with her elbow. “But you really should talk to Simon.”
“Don’t think just because you’re finally dating the woman you’ve been crushing on for ages that makes you some kind of relationship expert.”
“Oh, I don’t,” she assured him. “I just think I’m more of a relationship expert than you.”
Jace silently flipped her off, then pulled out his phone. He stared at it for a long time before finally texting Simon.
Can we talk? Please.
As soon as he hit send, he put his phone face-down on the bar and turned his full attention to drinking his beer. Maia gave him an approving nod before going to help the trio of customers that had just walked up to the bar.
It took Simon almost ten minutes to respond, and Jace wasn’t sure how to take it when he did.
Bat says it’s fine if you come over.
It wasn’t exactly a gilded invitation, and Jace was pretty sure he didn’t want to have whatever conversation he and Simon were going to have with Bat there, but it also wasn’t a no. Jace could live with not a no. He’d have to.
He caught Maia’s eye. “Close me out?”
“Sure.” She took his card and scanned it. “Where you headed?”
“Bat’s place. Simon’s staying there.”
He expected at least a little bit of gloating, but all he got was a smile and his card back. “Cool.”
Jace shoved his wallet back in his pocket and stood to put his jacket on. Maia stopped him with a hand on his arm.
“Hey. If this doesn’t go the way you want it to, promise you’ll come back here to say I told you so instead of finding a different bar to drown your sorrows in?”
Jace scoffed. “Like I’d ever pass up a chance to rub it in your face that you were wrong.”
Maia gave his arm an encouraging squeeze before letting go. Jace downed the last of his beer and hoped he wasn’t about to fuck things up even worse.
~~~
“How did my place become the designated space for heartbroken sulking?” Bat asked when he opened his door to find Jace standing there.
“It’s because you have the best couch to crash on and the nicest gaming setup,” Jace told him. “Also because you’re too nice to kick your friends out even when we probably deserve it. Can I come in?”
Bat watched him for a long moment, then stepped back and let the door swing all the way open to allow Jace inside.
“I’m gonna run to the store to pick up some more chips,” Bat announced loudly. “I will be back in half an hour, and if any bodily fluids end up on my couch while I’m gone, you are both permanently banned from my apartment.”
“Dude,” came Simon’s voice from the direction of Bat’s living room.
“Just saying,” Bat said, and then he was closing the door behind him, leaving Jace standing in the entryway.
Jace took a deep breath to steady himself, then a second one before finally forcing himself to walk into the living room.
He found Simon on the couch, feet tucked underneath him like he always sat when he was upset. Simon didn’t look up, instead staring intently at the hole in the knee of his worn Boba Fett pajamas as he poked at the threads.
“Hey,” Jace said.
“Hey.” Simon’s eyes stayed trained on his knee.
Okay. This was fine. Jace could work with this. Probably.
He sat down on the far end of the couch and tried again. “Look, I know I’m shit at apologies, but I can’t even try if I don’t know why you’re pissed at me.”
Simon’s shoulders slumped, and he finally looked at Jace with red-rimmed eyes. “I’m not pissed at you.”
“Really? Because you’re acting kind of pissed at me.”
“I’m not—” Simon made a frustrated sound. “Okay, I’m kind of pissed at you, but I know it’s super unfair, and I’m, you know,” he shrugged, “working through it.”
“And when you’re done working through it, then you’ll come home?” Jace’s question sounded desperate, even to his own ears.
“I think—” Simon went back to studying the hole in his pajamas. “I think I’m going to spend the summer back in New York with my mom. Bat said I can crash on his couch for a couple weeks until finals are over.”
“Simon.” Jace was shaking his head, but Simon just kept right on going.
“I can—I can keep paying my half of rent until you find another roommate.”
“I don’t want another roommate.” I want you. Jace shook the thought away. That could wait. All that right now mattered was keeping Simon from walking out of his life.
“Look,” Jace continued, “I know things are kind of weird between us right now, but you don’t have to leave. We can fix this. We can just—just go back to how things were before, like nothing ever happened, and it’ll be—” It would be agonizing. Jace wasn’t sure he could do it. “It’ll be fine.”
“I can’t just go back to how things were before, Jace.” Simon’s glare was withering. “It’s not that easy.”
Jace ran a frustrated hand through his hair. “I know I fucked up. I shouldn’t have kissed you at Alec’s wedding, but I swear it won’t happen again.”
“You didn’t—Jace, we kissed each other at the wedding.”
Jace glared back, letting anger mask his hurt. “Then what exactly is the problem?” If he didn’t know what he’d done, he couldn’t fix it, and if he couldn’t fix it… “If it’s not about the kiss, then why the hell won’t you just come home?”
“Because I love you, you asshole!”
Simon looked almost as surprised by his own outburst as Jace felt. Jace stared. He couldn’t have heard that right. Because if Simon loved him, then he wouldn’t be glaring at him like he just kicked his favorite puppy. If Simon loved him, he wouldn’t have left.
“I love you,” Simon repeated, calmer now, “and I can’t keep pretending that I don’t.”
“Simon,” Jace croaked. His voice didn’t seem to want to work.
“That’s why I can’t live with you anymore, because I’m never going to be able to get over you if I do.”
“Simon,” Jace tried again, voice stronger now.
“And that wouldn’t be fair to either of us. But I think if I just take some time, and some space, then maybe I can—”
Jace let out a frustrated growl. “Will you please stop talking for five seconds so I can tell you that I love you, too?”
It was Simon’s turn to stare. “You—I don’t understand.”
Jace let out a bark of laughter that was half hysterical, half wonder. “Yeah, this is. It’s a lot.”
“But,” Simon’s voice was soft, vulnerable, “if you love me, then why don’t you want to be with me?”
“Simon,” he reached out to cup Simon’s cheek with his hand, “what could possibly have given you the idea that I don’t want to be with you?”
“You!” Simon’s voice was indignant, but he didn’t pull away, instead leaning into Jace’s touch. “You’ve said it like a million times! That you don’t date. That you’re not a relationship kind of guy.”
“Yeah, because I suck at it.” It wasn’t an easy admission to make, and Jace had to force himself not to cringe away from showing this much vulnerability. But for Simon, he would. “You were right when you said I don’t know how to be bad at things, and I make a terrible boyfriend. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to be yours.”
Simon let out a choked laugh, winding his arms around Jace’s neck. “You were actually a pretty great boyfriend, even when you were just pretending.”
“Simon. I was never pretending.”
Simon made a wounded noise and dragged him the remaining inches between them into a kiss. It was messy and the angle was awkward as hell, but Jace wouldn’t have traded it for anything. He kissed back, putting everything he felt into it. And then Simon was throwing a leg over him to straddle his lap, and the angle—along with everyone else—was so much better.
“Dude, what did I say?”
They broke apart at Bat’s very annoyed question. Jace had been too distracted to even hear the door.
“Technically, we didn’t break your rule.” Simon’s grin was wide and bright and a little dazed as he disentangled himself from Jace. Jace suspected he was wearing a similar expression. “No bodily fluids on your couch.”
“I expect more than a technicality when your fluids are involved,” Bat said flatly. “And I’m happy you guys got your shit together or whatever, but please get the fuck out of my apartment now.”
“I think we were just leaving, anyway,” Jace said.
“Oh yeah,” Simon agreed. “We’ve got some, uh, stuff to take care of back home.”
Jace barely even heard the pained noise Bat made over the sudden burst of joy in his chest at hearing Simon call their apartment “home” again. Grinning like an absolute idiot, he let Simon pull him out the door and down the street toward their apartment. Toward home.
~~~
It took them far longer to get back to the apartment than the distance warranted. Probably because they couldn’t seem to go a full block without kissing, which inevitably led to making out against the nearest wall until one of them remembered that they actually had an apartment with nice features like beds and privacy.
“This is ridiculous,” Jace said half a block down from their building, ignoring the fact that he was the one who had Simon pinned to the neighboring complex’s laundry room wall. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Either kiss me again or get moving,” Simon said, grinding against the thigh Jace had between his legs. “I’d really like to get you naked before I have to leave for morning classes.”
With a put-upon sigh, Jace stepped back. “It’s really annoying when you’re right about things, you know that?”
“I know that you say ‘annoying’ when you mean ‘hot,’” Simon said with a smug grin.
“That is not at all a thing that I do,” Jace lied.
They managed to make it back to the apartment with no more detours and practically fell through the door with how eager they were to get their hands and mouths back on each other.
“Missed this,” Simon said between kisses. “Missed you.”
“It’s been like half a week,” Jace said, like he hadn’t missed Simon like he’d lost a limb, blood loss included. “And you’re the idiot who decided we should break up, so whose fault is that?”
“We weren’t even dating, you dick. I didn’t think you wanted to.” Simon pulled away then, suddenly serious. “You do want to, though, right? You meant it when you said you want to be my boyfriend?”
“I can’t believe I fell in love with someone so dense,” Jace said with an affectionate smile. “Yes, I meant it.”
“Okay,” Simon said, smiling back. “Cool.”
“Now that we’ve got that sorted out,” Jace leaned forward, lips hovering a hairsbreadth away from Simon’s, “can I please take you to bed already?”
Simon kissed him, quick and hard, before grabbing the lapels of his leather jacket and walking backward down the hallway, dragging Jace with him.
“I like it when you say please,” Simon said. “It’s definitely something you should do more often.”
“Yeah?” Jace used the fact that his own hands were free to unbuckle Simon’s belt while they walked. “You gonna make me?”
“I thought that was implied.” Simon pushed the door to Jace’s bedroom open and shoved Jace through it.
Jace took another step back, shrugging out of his jacket and tossing it vaguely in the direction of his desk chair. “You really think you can?”
“I’ve done it before.” Simon followed and slid his hands up beneath Jace’s shirt. “I can remind you how it went if you forgot.”
“Could have been a fluke.” Jace’s words probably would have been more convincing if his entire body hadn’t jolted when Simon’s thumbs very deliberately brushed over his nipples before moving to tug his shirt over his head.
“You’re right,” Simon said as he pulled his own shirt over his head. “We’ll need a bigger data set if we’re going to do a proper statistical analysis.”
“Less math.” Jace pulled open Simon’s fly and reached a hand inside his boxers. “More sex.”
Simon rocked into the touch. “I didn’t hear a ‘please’ in there.”
Jace snorted. “Bite me.”
“I mean, I was going to suck you, but if you’d rather I bite—”
Jace cut him off with a kiss. By the way Simon smiled against his mouth, he thought that might have been exactly the reaction he was going for. Jace couldn’t be annoyed by it, though. Not when Simon was making those soft, eager noises into their kisses while they divested each other of their remaining clothes. Not when every touch, every kiss felt like coming home. Not when they finally tumbled into bed and Simon kissed perfect and so hot and love you into his mouth and skin.
It wasn’t until Simon had him practically writhing with want, lazily fingering him while he traced patterns across Jace’s hipbone with his tongue, that Jace realized he’d meant it about making him say ‘please.’ The realization must have shown on his face because Simon, the utter bastard, winked at him before stroking his finger against Jace’s prostate, just once. It was almost as infuriating as it was hot.
Jace’s resolve not to beg lasted right up until Simon shifted so he could reach Jace’s other hip with his mouth, causing his own cock, hard and leaking, to brush against Jace’s calf. Knowing that Simon was just as turned on as he was, it was too much.
He rocked his hips down as Simon added a second finger, trying desperately to get some pressure where he needed it. The stretch felt good, but it wasn’t anywhere near enough. “Are you waiting for a gilded invitation?”
“You know what I’m waiting for,” Simon said mildly, cheek just barely grazing Jace’s cock as he lowered his head to place an open-mouthed kiss on the seam of Jace’s thigh.
“Fuck, fuck, fine,” Jace panted. “Please.”
Simon didn’t waste any time to gloat, swallowing him down to the root in one smooth motion at the same time that he crooked his fingers to press against Jace’s prostate. Jace let out a strangled sob, fighting to keep his hips still and failing miserably. If Simon’s answering moan was any indication, he didn’t mind in the slightest, so Jace stopped trying, losing himself in the heat of Simon’s mouth, the perfect pressure of his fingers.
He glanced down, needing to see, and was very nearly undone by the sight of Simon’s lips stretched around his cock, the obvious enthusiasm for what he was doing. Simon caught his gaze and swallowed—very deliberately—around the head of his cock. Jace let out a keening noise as his body shook and he spilled his release down Simon’s throat.
Simon kept working him with mouth and fingers until it was just pushing the edges of too much, and then he was crawling up Jace’s body to kiss him, needy and desperate, as he jerked himself off. Jace had just enough presence of mind left to kiss back, to slide one hand between them to join Simon’s on his cock until Simon was shaking apart above him, painting their hands and stomachs with his come.
“See?” Simon said a few minutes later, still half-breathless. “I knew I could get you to say ‘please.’”
“Fuck you,” Jace mumbled without any real heat, too fucked-out to muster a proper comeback.
Simon gave him a crooked grin. “Next time, I should make you ask nicely, though.”
Jace thought he probably shouldn’t be as into that idea as he was, especially since he’d just come, but he absolutely was, his mind spinning out an elaborate vision of what that would be like. Not that he was going to admit it.
“Shut up and cuddle me,” he said instead.
Simon’s answering smirk said he knew exactly what Jace wasn’t saying, but he didn’t argue, curling his body into Jace’s with a contented sigh.
“Hey,” Jace said quietly. “I love you.”
He felt Simon’s smile against his shoulder. “I love you, too.”
Eventually, Jace knew, they would have to move. They were both in desperate need of a shower, and he should probably put something in his body that wasn’t alcoholic if he didn’t want to feel like death in the morning. But for now, he was content to stay like this, wrapped in the arms of the man he loved. And when they did finally make their way out of bed, he’d be fine with that, too, and whatever came after. As long as Simon was beside him.

finding my way to love you; sakusa kiyoomi
now playing: “i won’t say i’m in love”
masterlist
Tumblr media
stage 1: acquaintances
“Meet our new manager, Y/n!” Hinata exclaims, pushing Y/n towards the team. Y/n smiles and waves shyly, the whole team greeting her excitedly.
“Woah, you got us a pretty manager, Hinata! Nice to meet ya, I’m Atsumu.” Atsumu introduces himself to Y/n, shaking her hand.
“Nice to meet you.” She smiles brightly at Atsumu.
She’s pretty, Sakusa can’t deny that, but that’s just it. She’s just Black Jackals’ pretty manager.
Sakusa watches the whole team introduce themselves to their new manager, everyone trying to leave a good impression on the pretty girl. Atsumu notices Sakusa keeping his distance between everyone and drags him towards Y/n.
“This is Omi—he’s our outside hitter. Omi, say hi.” Atsumu speaks for Sakusa. Sakusa glares at Atsumu then turns to Y/n.
“It’s Kiyoomi, by the way. Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you, Kiyoomi.” Y/n replies, reaching her hand out for a handshake.
Sakusa looks down at her hand and looks back at her again, his hands fiddling in his jacket pockets. He slowly takes out one of his hands and shakes her hand, quickly putting it back in his pocket after.
Atsumu’s eyes widen and he exclaims, “Omi?! Why can’t you give me a handshake too?!” Sakusa rolls his eyes at Atsumu, walking away from everyone again to escape Atsumu. Atsumu looks at Y/n and says after seeing her confused face, “He’s a germaphobe, he usually doesn’t interact with others physically.”
“Oh, I see.” Y/n nods her head, looking back at Sakusa. “He still shook my hand.”
“Yeah, I know. It’s interesting that he actually shook your hand.” Atsumu says. Y/n nods her head then walks away to talk to the captain about anything she needs to do. Meanwhile, Atsumu observes his teammate from afar and then smiles.
“It’s very interesting.”
stage 2: friends
It’s been about three months since Y/n became Black Jackals’ manager and she’s gotten close with the team. The team always invites her when they go out somewhere so she’s gotten to know everyone very well.
The team has gotten to know Y/n too. And by team I mean…. ya know… him..
“What are you doing?”
Y/n looks up from her laptop and sees Sakusa standing on the other side of the table, across from her. “I’m doing homework.”
He starts walking over to her in curiosity. “What homework?”
“For college, I’m not planning on being your manager for the rest of my life, you know.”
Sakusa sits next to Y/n, resting his chin on the palm of his hand as he talks to her. “What are you gonna major in?”
“Architecture.” Y/n replies, scribbling notes on her notebook.
“Omi, let’s drink shots!” Atsumu calls him over from the kitchen.
“No. You’re gonna get drunk and start throwing up everywhere. That’s gross.” Sakusa says, cringing just thinking about vomit.
“I’m not gonna get drunk! I can control myself—Y/n, you want a shot?”
“I don’t think I should, I have a class tomorrow morning.”
“You’re a bad influence, Tsumu.” Bokuto says, shaking his head.
“You’re the one who wanted a shot too!”
“You have a class tomorrow?” Sakusa asks Y/n, ignoring the bickering in the background. She nods her head. “So you won’t be at practice tomorrow?”
Y/n shakes her head. “Nah. I’ll stop by during your individual practices after class though.”
“We’ll probably be practicing late though, wouldn’t you want to go to sleep after a lecture?”
Y/n looks at Sakusa. “Why would you be practicing late?”
“What?” Sakusa blinks.
“You guys always stay late even though you practiced like the whole day already. There’s no reason for me to be sleepy during your individual practices unless you guys are staying until 11PM.”
“Oh.”
“Also, even if I was sleepy, I like watching you guys practice—I’ll just fall asleep watching you, your spikes are cool.”
Oh.
Sakusa looks away, watching Atsumu and Bokuto take the drinks from Hinata. Sakusa thinks to himself:
‘She’s just your pretty manager. All managers compliment their team.’
As he tells himself that, a small tint of pink appears on his cheeks.
Oh?
stage 3: best friends
Sakusa shivers, crossing his arms. He looks at the entrance of the library again, frowning when a wave of coldness strucks him again. Finally, Y/n exits the library, rushing up to Sakusa when she spots him.
“Hi, Kiyoomi!” She exclaims.
Sakusa scans her from head to toe then throws a bag at her. “Here’s your Subway order.”
“Yay, thank you!” Y/n says, looking inside the bag.
“Do you not have a jacket or something? It’s so cold.”
“Nope- you got me a cookie too?!” Y/n smiles widely at the sight of food. “Kiyoomi, do you want to split this sandwich with me?” She looks up at Sakusa and her jaw basically drops as she sees him take off his hoodie, a small glimpse of his fit body flashing—even other students on campus stop to get a good look at him.
He fixes his shirt and then shoves the hoodie towards her. “Here, wear this and don’t give it back until you properly get rid of all your germs.”
“Wh-Why should I wear this?”
“Because it’s fucking cold.” Sakusa replies, crossing his arms again.
“Really? Cause it feels hot to me, like, really hot.”
Sakusa glares at Y/n. “Just wear it, your germs are already on it now so I can’t take it back.”
“Okay, fine. Hold this for me, you can have some of the sandwich, I don’t think I can finish it all.”
Y/n hands Sakusa the bag of food and her backpack, Sakusa slinging the bag over his shoulder and splitting the sandwich in half. He takes a bite of his half, watching Y/n put on his hoodie. Before Sakusa takes another bite, he stops when Y/n fully puts on the hoodie.
‘Holy shit.’
“Your hoodie is really big, Omi.” Y/n says, playing with the sleeves of his hoodie. He turns around and closes his eyes, taking a deep breath and calming himself down. “Kiyoomi, can I have the sandwich?”
He holds the Subway bag out from the side, not looking at her. Y/n takes the bag, unbothered by his sudden actions because Atsumu and Bokuto’s random actions have convinced her that nothing else can faze her. Too bad she missed out on seeing Sakusa’s flustered face.
From now on, he actually lets Y/n wear his clothes despite the germs.
stage 4: crush
“Yer leaving practice early, Omi?” Atsumu asks as he watches Sakusa pack up his things.
“Yeah, I’m gonna pick up Y/n from class.” Sakusa replies, tying his shoelaces. Atsumu smiles watching Sakusa. Sakusa glances at Atsumu then squints at him. “Why are you smiling at me?”
“It’s nothing. You and Y/n are close, huh?”
“Yeah, we’re friends.” Sakusa says as he walks out of the gym.
“Just friends.” Atsumu nods his head, following Sakusa.
Sakusa stops and looks at Atsumu. “What else would we be?”
“I didn’t say anything about being something else with her—why? Do you want to be something else with her?” Atsumu teases, nudging Sakusa playfully. Sakusa simply scoffs and continues walking, Atsumu still following him. “Do you like Y/n, Omi?”
“As a friend, yeah.”
“Yer always picking her up from her classes, you totally have a crush on Y/n.”
Sakusa sighs. “Fine, I won’t pick you up if a crowd of fangirls try to kidnap you at the mall again. You’re my friend, aren’t you?”
“Yeah. Also, please pick me up again if that ever happens, that was a traumatizing experience for both me and Hinata.”
“See, I’m just being a good friend by picking her up from class.” Sakusa says, ignoring Atsumu’s last comment—don’t worry, he will pick up Atsumu in case that happens again. Sakusa and Atsumu finally reach the car, Sakusa opening the car door of the driver seat. “Are you guys gonna take the bus home or should I pick you up?”
“We’ll take the bus home. To give you more time for you and Y/n to get close.”
Sakusa rolls his eyes, getting in the car and shutting the door in front of Atsumu.
“See you, Omi-Omi!” Atsumu waves.
Sakusa rolls down the window and says, “You’re so annoying.”
Atsumu smiles and continues waving. “Have fun, be home by 10PM—unless yer planning on spending the night at Y/n’s place- OW!” Atsumu suddenly exclaims as Sakusa throws an empty water bottle at him.
“Stop leaving a mess in the car. I’m gonna go now. Bye.” Sakusa rolls up the window then drives off, listening to the radio as he drives. As he waits at a redlight, he looks around and spots a boba cafe. He quickly checks his phone then pulls up to the cafe once the light turns green.
“Which one does she like?” Sakusa mutters to himself under his mask, scanning the different choices of boba. He ends up getting one of the most favored flavors, returning back to the car and driving to Y/n’s campus.
Sakusa patiently waits for Y/n outside her class, sitting on a nearby bench. It’s been about a month since he’s been picking up Y/n from her classes or the library so he’s gotten used to it—people always looking at him and wanting to talk to him. There’s a good amount of people on campus that actually know Sakusa as a player on the famous Black Jackals team and then there’s the other half that just want his number cause he’s good looking.
Sakusa doesn’t even know why he always picks her up, it just became a habit whenever Y/n had class because Y/n would arrive late to their individual practices due to the busy bus or train so Sakusa picked her up instead.
‘She’s just your manager. And friend. Close friend. It’s common to pick up your close manager-friend and buy her food.’ Sakusa thinks to himself, but he also thinks to himself...
‘Yeah but is it common to get flustered when you see your close manager-friend in your clothes?’
His face heats up just thinking about that again and he’s glad that he wore his mask today.
Sakusa sighs and stands up when he sees the students exit the building, holding the drink he got for Y/n behind his back. He scans the faces of each student exiting the building, looking for Y/n.
Y/n ends up being the one of the last ones exiting the building with her classmate, laughing at some joke her classmate made—but for some reason, the sudden slight breeze and the lighting from the sunset makes Sakusa’s heart flutter.
‘Was she always this pretty?’
Y/n’s classmate sees Sakusa waiting for Y/n so she says goodbye to Y/n, both waving farewell to each other. Y/n smiles at Sakusa, walking towards him. “Hi, Kiyoomi.”
“Hey. How was class?”
“Good. How was practice?”
“Good. I got you this.” Sakusa says, giving Y/n the boba.
Y/n gasps in excitement. “Woah, thank you! You didn’t have to get me this.”
“It’s okay. I just got it on the way here.” Sakusa replies, watching Y/n drink the boba happily. Sakusa sighs again when he feels his face heat up again, making Y/n look at him.
“Take off your mask, I want to see your face.”
“I don’t want to.”
“Why not? You’ve gone out before without wearing your mask.”
Sakusa pulls his mask down, not completely taking it off. “There. Happy?”
“Very.” Y/n smiles. “Want some boba?”
Sakusa shakes his head.
“C’mon, I know you want some.” Y/n says, waving the drink in his face.
“You’re gonna drop that and you put your mouth on the straw so.. no.” Sakusa backs up as Y/n tries to give him some.
She stops and says, “Alright, if you say so.”
Y/n continues to drink the boba, commenting about how good it is and how she’s been craving it for a while, but Sakusa can’t seem to focus and listen to her.
‘Is it common to find your close manager-friend really pretty? You’ve always thought she was pretty though, but…’
His eyes trail down to her lips.
‘Is it common if you want to suddenly kiss her?’
stage 5: in love
Sakusa drinks all his water in one gulp, wiping his sweat off with his towel.
“That was a great spike earlier, Omi!” Hinata compliments Sakusa with starry eyes.
“Thanks.” Sakusa replies. “You looked pretty cool when you scored the last point.”
“Omi, why won’t you compliment me too?!”
“You don’t deserve it.” Sakusa glares at Atsumu.
“I’m the one who set the ball to Shoyo perfectly- wait... are you still mad at me?” Atsumu asks, a mischievous smirk appearing on his face. Sakusa throws his towel at Atsumu’s face, walking away. Atsumu follows Sakusa. “You are! That means it’s true!”
“What’s true?” Hinata, who’s also following behind them, asks curiously.
“It’s nothing, Hinata. Don’t listen to Atsumu, he’s being annoying again.”
“Yer the one being annoying, just admit it, Omi!” Atsumu exclaims.
“Lower your voice or else the paparazzi is gonna come up to us with cameras.” Sakusa says, eyeing the paparazzi and their flashing cameras.
They just won a game and now they’re on their way back to the Black Jackals’ gym for a short meeting.
“Yer only telling me to lower my voice so she won’t hear us.” Atsumu crosses his arms.
“Miya Atsumu, I really want to kill you right now, please shut up.” Sakusa calmly says. He may look fine, but he actually wants to strangle Atsumu really bad right now.
Hinata, witnessing the two argue, pulls Bokuto over to him. “Do something, Omi might actually kill Tsumu.” He whispers to Bokuto, scared if one of them hears him, he’ll end up getting strangled too.
Bokuto nods his head and walks in between Atsumu and Sakusa, putting his hands on their shoulders. “Hey, what are you guys bickering about now? We just won a game and you two are fighting—we should be celebrating.”
Sakusa and Atsumu look at each other then say at the same time:
“He’s being annoying.”
Sakusa scoffs and Atsumu starts yelling out again.
“How am I being annoying?! Yer the one who’s being stubborn and won’t admit it!”
“You’re making me admit something that’s not true!”
“But it is true! You won’t admit it!”
They start arguing again, Bokuto keeping them apart so they won’t kill each other. Even when they reach the bus, the two won’t stop going back and forth.
“Time to get on the bus!” Their coach says, the team getting on the bus one by one.
“Yer so stubborn, Omi!” Atsumu stomps his feet on the ground.
“Look who’s talking.” Sakusa hisses at Atsumu.
“Hey, you guys did great today.”
Sakusa and Atsumu immediately stop and look at Y/n. Sakusa nods his head and gets on the bus, not saying anything.
“Thanks, Y/n.” Atsumu smiles and quickly gets on the bus, following Sakusa. Atsumu sits next to Sakusa, Sakusa on the verge of choking Atsumu to death. Bokuto and Hinata look at each other, sitting in front of them, but always checking behind to see if they’re still alive. “Yer in denial.”
“Okay, what are you guys arguing about, maybe we can find a solution.” Bokuto butts in, nudging Hinata. He whispers, “Keep an eye on Omi.”
Hinata slowly looks at Sakusa and it gives him flashbacks to when he served the volleyball at Kageyama’s head. “Omi looks really scary right now.” Hinata whispers.
Atsumu stands up, looking for Y/n. Once he makes sure Y/n is seated far away from them, he sits back down. “Omi won’t admit that he’s in love with Y/n.”
Sakusa sinks in his seat, putting on his mask to hide his face that’s slowly turning pink. “You’re so annoying.”
“Yer practically melting, Omi.”
“Um, why do you want Omi to admit that, Atsumu-” Hinata starts saying.
“Yeah, exactly, Atsumu-“
“It’s so obvious.” Hinata finishes. They all turn to Hinata. “What? It is obvious.”
Atsumu bursts out in laughter. “HAHA, SEE IT’S TRUE!”
“I’m not in love.” Sakusa pouts, crossing his arms.
“THIS IS TOO FUNNY HAHA, YOU’RE REALLY IN L-“
“Atsumu, you should go to sleep before I put you to sleep.”
“Oh okay.”
Sakusa groans, burying his face in his hands. “You guys are over exaggerating, there’s no way I’m in love.”
“Omi, there’s no point in denying it anymore.”
“We should go out to drink.” Bokuto suddenly says.
Atsumu nods his head. “That’s a great idea, Bokuto—drink to celebrate our win! Everyone should drink, even you Hinata!”
“I’m not a high schooler still, I’ve always been able to drink.”
“Yeah, we should also invite Y/n- wait Hinata, have you been drinking without our permission?”
“You shouldn’t drink a lot, Hinata—you’re very young still.” Bokuto agrees with Atsumu.
“Are you guys trying to get me drunk?” Sakusa raises his eyebrows.
“What? No way.” Atsumu sarcastically replies.
“You’re not gonna get me drunk.”
“Challenge accepted. Should we go to a club?”
“No, there’s gonna be a lot of people.”
“We can get a VIP room.”
“Fine.”
Atsumu and Bokuto look at each other excitedly. “Omi is going to the club with us.” They say in a singsong voice.
“Should I text Y/n and invite her?” Hinata asks.
“Do it.” Atsumu says. “Make sure to look good for Y/n, Omi.”
“This is gonna be so annoying.” Sakusa groans.
Atsumu smirks as they enter the club and make their way towards their reserved room. “You look good, Omi. What are you planning tonight?”
“I’m not planning anything and I always look good.” Sakusa jokes.
Atsumu glances at Y/n, who is talking with Hinata and Bokuto. “Doesn’t she look pretty?”
Sakusa takes a look at Y/n, scanning her up and down. He sighs and just continues walking.
“You just did that sigh, a sigh of love, ya know?”
“No, I don’t know.”
“You did those dreamy sighs people do when they see someone attractive, ya know?”
“You’re gonna give me a headache.”
Atsumu ignores Sakusa and walks into the VIP room first. “What should we drink first, Omi?”
“Water.”
“OMI! YOU SAID YOU WOULD DRINK!”
“I said you’re not gonna get me drunk.”
“Yer challenging me, Omi. It’s the same thing.”
“You guys should drink, you did win today’s game after all. Isn’t that why we’re here? Drinking to celebrate?” Y/n says, everyone turning to her.
They all look at each other at the same time, wondering who’s going to respond first. Finally Bokuto says, “Yeah, we’ll all drink to celebrate our win—why else are we here to drink?” He smiles and sneakily glances at Sakusa.
Bokuto starts pouring the drinks in a glass, everyone sitting around him and watching him. He looks at Y/n. “Do you want one, Y/n?”
“I’ll just have one.”
Atsumu and Sakusa make eye contact, Atsumu grinning at him. “Fun.”
“You guys seem to be… energetic today.” Y/n says to them as she takes the shot from Bokuto.
“You guys didn’t even take a nap on the bus today.”
“Wait.. did you hear us?” Sakusa asks, a bit horrified.
“Not really, I just heard you guys bickering and laughing, but I couldn’t understand what you guys were saying from the front of the bus.”
Bokuto hands out the last shot to Sakusa and exclaims, “Alright, we all have our drinks now—let’s drink!”
“Cheers!” Everyone exclaims, clinking their glasses together and drinking the shot in one gulp.
“That’s strong.” Y/n comments, setting her glass on the table.
“Perfect.” Atsumu smiles. “Wanna do another one, Omi? Or is it too strong for you?”
Sakusa sighs and pours another shot for himself, already drinking it. When he finishes, he looks at Atsumu and replies, “It’s good. Is it too strong for you, Atsumu? Should I get you a glass of water?”
Atsumu’s smile stays put, grabbing the bottle and pouring one for himself too. “It’s fine.” He also pours more in Sakusa’s cup, Sakusa not saying anything about it. “Let’s get drunk, Omi.”
An hour later, Hinata is drunk and the others remain sober or tipsy.
“Ah, we shouldn’t have made Hinata drink.” Y/n says, watching Hinata throw the couch’s pillows at Bokuto and Sakusa. Bokuto and Sakusa catch the pillows and try to make Hinata lay down.
“Do you think he’ll fall asleep if he lays down?”
“Maybe. Is there a nearby hotel or something?”
Y/n searches online for a nearby hotel and finds one. “There’s one close by here, we can spend the night there.”
“Really? Can I see?” Bokuto asks. Y/n hands Bokuto her phone, Bokuto reading the reviews about the hotel. “Alright. I’ll book some rooms for the night—are you guys gonna drink still?”
Atsumu looks at Y/n then at Sakusa. He stands up and walks over to Y/n to sit next to her. “Y/n is gonna spend the night at a hotel with us?” Atsumu inches his face closer and closer to hers. “That would be fun, wouldn’t it?”
“Atsumu.” Y/n says.
“Hm?”
“Back off.”
“‘Kay.” Atsumu grins. “You’re not blushing even the slightest, Y/n—are you not interested in me? Is there someone else you’re interested in?”
Y/n sighs and stands up. “That’s none of your business, Atsumu—and you’re definitely tipsy, let’s go.”
After stopping by the convenience store for some necessities, they arrive at the hotel and make their way to their rooms. Two rooms with two beds and one room with one, for Y/n.
“Kiyoomi, my room is just over there, you don’t have to walk with me.” Y/n says, giggling.
He blushes. “Who knows? Someone might kidnap you while you’re trying to get in your room.” Y/n smiles and they just walk together in silence until they get to Y/n’s room. “Y/n. We’re friends, right?”
She looks at Sakusa. “Of course. Why?”
“Well…” Sakusa looks down and says shyly, “Earlier, Atsumu was asking you if you were interested in someone and you said it wasn’t his business and I’m curious… is there someone you like?”
Y/n stares at Sakusa. “I do like someone. You shouldn’t worry about them though.”
Sakusa nods his head. “Okay.”
They stand there in silence for a little bit, Y/n turning around to open the door to her hotel room, but she stops. She looks at Sakusa again and puts her arms around his neck, making Sakusa look at her in surprise—his face heating up, of course.
“Omi. Will you spend the night with me?”
“Wha-What?” Sakusa replies. His face is so red right now. “You only have one bed in your room, Y/n..”
“That won’t be a problem..” Y/n says as she brings her face closer to his. “Right?”
Sakusa stares at Y/n, moving small strands of her hair from her face with one hand and smoothly taking the key to the room with the other hand. He looks past her and unlocks the door—smiling when he softly pushes her into the room, the door closing slowly behind them.
If anyone were to walk past their room and look inside, your face would surely heat up seeing how hot it is between the two—even if they’re only just kissing.
***
“Y/N OPEN THE DOOR, OMI IS MISSING I THINK HE GOT KIDNAPPED!”
Y/n groans at the nonstop yelling and knocking from Atsumu at 7AM in the morning. She buries her face in Sakusa’s neck then gets up to answer the door.
“Y/n! Finally you answered, Omi wasn’t in my room when I woke up and his bed is completely untouched. I think he got kidnapped last night.”
Y/n stares at Atsumu. “Tsumu. Are you drunk still?”
“What? No, I’m being serious.” Atsumu replies.
It’s sad that he’s actually being serious.
Y/n sighs, stepping aside to let Atsumu in. “If you don’t find Kiyoomi by the time I’m out of the bathroom, I’m kicking you out.”
“How can I find him from your hotel room? Do you want me to look out the window?”
“Sure. Give it a try.”
Atsumu walks into the room and looks outside the window. “We’re on the 15th floor, how am I supposed to find him from here..” He says to himself. Atsumu sighs and turns around. “Y/n, there’s no hope, I think Omi’s dead now- HOLY SHIT.”
Atsumu freezes when he sees Sakusa sitting on the bed, staring right at him. He slowly and carefully walks over to Sakusa, eyeing him up and down. “You’re clothed.”
“Yeah. I’m clothed.” Sakusa says.
“Did you guys not do it?” Atsumu asks, looking back and forth at Sakusa and Y/n, who is returning from the bathroom.
“No.”
“Not yet.” Sakusa smirks at Y/n. She hits him with a pillow and continues fixing the bed, blushing. Sakusa gets out of bed and throws the pillow at Atsumu. “Get out.”
“Why, so you can make out with Y/n?”
“Sure. I’m fine with that.” Sakusa simply replies.
“Man, it was funnier when you were all flustered and shy about Y/n—now you’re like this.” Atsumu complains.
“Then get out.” Sakusa starts pushing Atsumu out of the room. “You wanted this, didn’t you?”
“Yeah, I guess. Hey, Y/n, did he tell you that he loves you?”
“No. Not yet.” Y/n says, walking up to them. She hugs Sakusa and says to Atsumu, “Out.”
“Alright, Alright, I’ll leave.” Atsumu laughs, leaving the room. “If you guys are gonna do it, make it quick. I wanna go home and play games.”
“Shut up, Atsumu.” Sakusa pushes Atsumu out and shuts the door.
“Kiyoomi, is it true?”
He looks at Y/n. “What’s true?”
“That you love me.” She smiles when she sees Sakusa become flustered. “Omi loves me?”
“St-Stop it.” He puts his hand on the back of her head and buries her face in his shoulder. He softly kisses the side of her head, closing his eyes.
‘I’ll say it.’
“I love you, is that what you want to hear?”
A smile slowly creeps up her face and she looks up at Sakusa. She nods her head and kisses Sakusa. “I want to hear that everyday.”
“Alright.” Sakusa says. He repeatedly kisses Y/n’s neck, giving her butterflies. “I wanna hear you say it too.”
“When? Right now?”
Sakusa smirks and starts biting at one spot of her neck. “In bed.”
“Omi!” Y/n pinches Sakusa, making him look at her again.
He pecks her cheek. “Love you. Should we go now?”
“You said it again.”
“I did. Don’t get used to it, thats probably the last time I’ll say it…. for today.”
“Awh, you’re so sweet, Omi.”
“Okay, whatever, let’s go before Atsumu gets whiny again.” Sakusa says, checking around the room to see if they left anything. “Alright, I think we got everything. Let’s go.”
They leave the room and meet up with the others in the lobby.
“Guys, guess what, Omi and Y/n are a thing now.” Atsumu says as soon as he sees the couple. “Did you guys do it?”
“No, Atsumu. Stop asking that or I’ll kill you.”
“Do what?” Hinata asks.
“Nothing, Hinata. You’re too innocent.”
“Hey! I got drunk last night, I’m not so innocent anymore!”
“I don’t know if that’s supposed to be a good thing or not.” Bokuto scratches the back of his head.
“Last night you were throwing pillows everywhere, Hinata.” Y/n laughs.
“I was?”
“Yeah you kept throwing it at me!” Bokuto exclaims.
Atsumu quietly stands next to Sakusa and nudges him. “So..” Sakusa looks at Atsumu. “Are you gonna admit it?”
Sakusa slowly shifts his gaze over to Y/n, watching her laugh as Bokuto and Hinata discuss last night’s events.
“Are you in love with her, Omi?” Atsumu asks one last time and that’s the last time because…
“Yeah. I admit it. I’m in love.”
bonus! stage 6: lovers
Y/n tugs Sakusa’s shirt. “This shirt looks good on you, is it new?”
Sakusa nods his head, stirring his cup of coffee.
“Can I try it on?”
Sakusa stops and looks at Y/n. “You want to try it on?”
“Yeah. To see how it looks, I bet it’s gonna be really big on me.”
“What am I supposed to wear?”
“Just wear your jacket, I’ll be quick.” Y/n says, attempting to take his shirt off. Sakusa sighs and takes off his shirt, handing it to Y/n. Y/n runs her hands from his abs to his chest. “You’re so fit, Omi.”
“Babe.” Sakusa says in a warning tone.
“Okay, fine. I’ll go change. Be right back.” Y/n giggles then walks away to the bathroom to change.
Sakusa puts on his jacket, zipping it up, and returning to his cup of coffee. He stares down at his coffee becoming bored as he waits for Y/n.
“Omi, this is really big on me.”
Sakusa shifts his gaze from the coffee to his girlfriend.
‘Fuck. Wearing my hoodie is fine, but my shirt and only my shirt?’
Y/n teases, “It looks better on me than you.”
Sakusa places his coffee on the table and walks towards Y/n. He lifts Y/n up, Y/n wrapping her legs around his waist. “What are you doing, Omi?”
“Just wait, baby.” Sakusa replies. He sets her on the bed and says, “Stay here. I’ll be right back.”
Y/n watches Sakusa leave her bedroom, completely clueless. She looks down at the shirt. “Maybe he doesn’t like it?” When Sakusa returns, she asks him. “Do you want your shirt back?”
Y/n watches Sakusa close the door and get on top of the bed with her. “Kiyoomi, I asked if you…”
She trails off when she notices what Sakusa’s holding in his hand. He unzips his jacket, throwing it aside and kisses Y/n—pushing her back so she’s laying on the bed.
“Let’s have some fun, hm baby?” Sakusa says, holding up the condom.

Last Time:
Chika laid down the facts: Atsumu was dating three different girls from three different friend groups. It was a secret to everyone but he and Chika, and now you, that he was doing this. Atsumu would only come to Onigiri Miya when Osamu wasn’t working. He was somewhat of an idiot in that respect, and Osamu had caught him with different girls at the establishment before, but the bleached twin had played it off as him seeing different girls every week; something that wasn’t outside of the realm of possibility for the player.
Chika went on to explain that while Atsumu used to work at the onigiri shop for his brother, he had taken time off in order to focus on university and his club volleyball team at the school. He was arrogant and self-centered, and often lied to his brother even about small things. The picture Chika painted was far from flattering.
You sat looking at her during her spiel, your jaw basically on the floor.
“So, yeah,” she finished. “He’s kind of a mess and a jackass.”
“Thanks for the warning, I’ll try to avoid him.”
“About that,” her smile strained as she spoke her next words: “He’s moving into the same dorm as you tomorrow.”
The day rose in a blaze of sun, the perfect weather for a barbecue on the quad at your new university. It was too hot for wearing anything other than a tank top and shorts since there was no way you were going to make it through the two-hour long event with no shade if you wore anything else.
A cacophony of laughter and raucous excitement reached your ears as you stepped onto the lush green of the expansive quad, taking in the plethora of grills and the several volleyball and badminton nets set-up to enjoy with fellow students. Clusters of students from every year were scattered about the lawn, drinking from plastic cups and munching on snacks while trying to find the courage to jump into an activity and break free of their timidity.
It should have come as no surprise, but Atsumu Miya had no issues with running head first into a new adventure. He was playing 2-on-2 volleyball at one of the nets, showing off just how high he could jump to slam the ball down on the grass on the opposite side of the net. His athleticism shined here, clearly leaps and bounds beyond the others he was volleying with who looked like they were about to pass-out from heat stroke while desperately trying to match his pace.
It would have been almost comical, the difference in skill between someone who was obviously well-versed in volleyball and someone who had never touched a ball in their life, except that Atsumu looked so smug every time he scored a point for his team. It was hardly a competition and even from this distance you could tell he was letting it get to his head.
Turning your attention away, you nearly collided with another person as you moved to grab a drink from one of the coolers. The person you were now face-to-face with wore a black t-shirt with “RA” in white lettering across the place a breast pocket would be.
“I’m so sorry!” You blurted out, backing up slightly and raising your hands. “I wasn’t paying attention.”
“Don’t worry about it!” They replied, a genial smile splitting their face in response to your sudden panic. “You look familiar. I think you moved onto my floor yesterday! Yeah, [Y/n], right?”
“Guilty,” you quipped, looking at them closely. It clicked into place once you noticed their black bangs pinned back with their high pigtails. “You’re the resident assistant on my floor...Nanami, right?”
“Yep,” she replied, giving you a thumbs up. Her cheerfulness seemed a bit forced, but you smiled back at her regardless. “It’s actually good ya bumped into me ‘cause I was looking to round up the girls to play some volleyball. You in?”
“Um, sure, I don’t really have anything else to do.”
--
That’s how you found yourself entangled in a lot more than you’d bargained for: an icebreaker activity with Atsumu’s three girlfriends.
“Let’s say our names and then a fun fact about us,” Nanami said once the small group of girls she could find was rounded into a seated circle. “I’ll go first. My name’s Nanami and I love going to concerts!”
Dead silence befell the group as they all looked at her, expressionless. It was hot and she was making you all sit in the sun and tell a fun fact about yourselves? Weren’t you supposed to be playing volleyball?
“Cool,” said the girl clad in sports attire, repping the school’s colors. “I’m Sara, I play for the soccer team here and love kick-boxing.”
Sara used her thumb to point to the girl on her right, taking charge of the situation so they could all get it over with.
“I’m Izumi,” came the soft voice of a girl with her eyes turned shyly downward. “I work in the library in my spare time.”
Could this be any more dull? So much for a fun barbecue.
The next girl down the line stated her name and a fact about herself that slipped through your mind like water until it was Atsumu’s final girlfriend’s turn.
“My name’s Aiko, and I play the violin,” she said, flicking her long hair over her shoulder and fiddling with the hem of her pure white blouse.
Once again, this elicited no response and all eyes now rested on you as they waited for your name and riveting factoid.
“I’m [Y/n] and I work at an onigiri shop off-campus and just moved here from Miyagi.”
A pregnant pause followed your statement as the small group merely blinked in acknowledgement of each other’s existence before Nanami’s voice cut through the heavy air: “Let’s play volleyball!”
The group stood, returning shredded grass particles to the ground and moved like cattle to the volleyball nets.
“I’m gonna ditch, my boyfriend wants to get boba,” the girl whose name you couldn’t remember whispered into your ear before skipping away from the group now composed of only you, Sara, Aiko, Izumi, and Nanami.
Just perfect, you were going to be playing volleyball with three girls dating the same guy and the person who would be watching every move you made in the dorms for the year, what could be more ideal? You almost wished Osamu had put you on the schedule today, but he’d given you the first week of classes off to acclimate to the new university.
It was done now, so you’d make the most of the situation and maybe get a new friend out of it. Izumi seemed really sweet and down-to-earth, so you’d give chatting with her a shot. Walking up beside her, you opened your mouth to say something before the realization that you knew a dirty secret she didn’t about the guy she was seeing hit you. You snapped your mouth closed and walked the remainder of the expanse of green to the free volleyball net.
A collective gasp sounded from the group as you approached the net, causing you to look up from the ground you’d been examining in order to avoid tripping. When you saw where their heads were turned, you sighed internally.
Of course, every single one of them had their eyes locked on Atsumu finishing up his game on the make-shift volleyball court next to the one you’d soon be playing on. He had sweat pouring down his face from what you could imagine was the heat and exertion, and you couldn’t tear your eyes away as he lifted his shirt to wipe at his face exposing the glistening muscles of his abdomen.
What was this, a teen movie? No one looked that hot after playing a taxing sport and it was highly unfair that someone so vile could look so good.
“Okay, girls,” Nanami said, clapping her hands together yet again. “I’m gonna ref, so choose your teams.”
Aiko immediately flocked to Sara, likely taking in the fact that the latter was a college athlete and would be better poised to win the game. Izumi didn’t look particularly thrilled to be stuck with you as her teammate, but she’d have to deal for the short amount of time you’d be playing.
Sara served first, landing a solid ace across the net that punted against the grass that neither you nor Izumi received, giving your opponents the first point. Aiko and Izumi looked at each other through the net, their eyes suddenly serious. You furrowed your brow, watching how Sara was now in a fighting stance, until the sound of Atsumu’s voice reached your ears.
“So, yer the RA for the boys’ and girls’ floor, eh?” He said, leaning toward Nanami who looked less than pleased to be conversing with him at the current moment.
“That I am,” she replied stiffly, trying to keep her eye on the ball. “I’m kind of busy right now, if you’ll excuse me.”
“I’m sure ya don’t mind if I stay and watch a little bit?”
Nanami shrugged, turning her attention completely away from him. He didn’t appear to care, and didn’t press her any further.
Atsumu was watching the game, that’s why these three were acting like their lives depended on winning a casual volleyball game on the quad. This asshole knew exactly what his presence would do to these girls and was eating it up like a Korean drama.
Whatever, he wasn’t your focus and would never be your focus, so you returned your attention to the game. Your heart clenched in your chest as you watched Aiko look over at Atsumu, sending him a salacious wink just to receive a smirk in return. In the time that your eyes left Sara’s serving form, hoping that no one had noticed the exchange, the volleyball was colliding with your head and sending you reeling.
“[Y/n]!” You could hear Nanami call before her knees were thudding onto the earth next to you, her black pigtails dangling over your face. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” you responded, sitting up to notice that Atsumu had departed with his hand on the upper back of another tall male walking away. A feeling of impending doom flowed over you as you looked at the girls standing near the net, their faces directed at each other expressing confusion and mounting anger. “What’s going on?”
“We’re at the quad for the barbecue, do you have a concussion? What year is it?” The RA asked, clearly not anticipating this at the event.
“I’m fine! What about them?”
“Why were you winking at my boyfriend?” Izumi seethed, her kind and calm demeanor slipping away easily to reveal a nasty underside.
“I was winking at my boyfriend,” Aiko replied, stepping closer to Izumi but remaining on her side of the net. “Atsumu Miya.”
“What the hell did you just say?” Sara bellowed while stomping towards the two already in the throws of their disagreement. “Who’d you say your boyfriend was?”
Izumi and Aiko replied in unison: “Atsumu Miya.”
--
The trio of Atsumu’s lovers sat a safe 6-feet from each other in the grass, ice packs pressed against the bruises they’d given each other during the scuffle that eventually had to be broken up by the University Police. You’d also tried to pry them apart, which only earned you a split lip and a disciplinary mark on your record for the trouble.
“So, I get the pleasure of explaining what your punishment is,” Nanami said, sitting down on the grass with exaggerated annoyance, producing a map and setting it in the space between everyone. “The resident director thinks it would be a good idea for you guys to clean up around town. So you’ll be tackling the areas I’ve marked every other day and clearing them of all the litter you can see.”
“How long?” You asked, pressing the ice pack to your lip in an attempt to get it to stop stinging so horribly.
“Ten hours, which is pretty lenient,” she explained. “Since you guys don’t have any other infractions she didn’t think it was worth more than that. And she wants you to do it together to learn some cooperation and teamwork.”
The tension in the air was suffocating at this news and not a single girl could look the other in the eye, opting to stare at their feet while nursing their wounds.
“This is all your fault, Aiko,” Sara spat.
“How is it--” Aiko began before you cut her off.
“I don’t know,” you spoke up, raising your hand in defense as Aiko shot you a glare, her white blouse sullied with dirt. “Seems like you all got played, right? He told you all that he had to keep his relationship with you secret, right?”
A grumble rose around the small area between the 5 of you.
“Okay, so he was lying to you so he could mess around with other people, so who’s fault is it really?”
You had no idea the trouble your logical mind had gotten you into.

Hiii do you have any relationship Hc's for goshiki
Hmmm this is gonna take a bit, but I have some ideas in mind:D
Our weird bowl cut boy lol
He’s gonna be Shiratorizawa’s ace... someday.
I’m gonna split this to two parts, because I write long hcs and I wanna write out how you guys dealt with your feelings before actually dating.
Tumblr media
👾Goshiki👾
✨Confession✨
- Really clueless at first.
- By really clueless I mean REALLY CLUELESS.
- When you joined the volleyball team as manager, he definitely tried to talk big, trying to give you a good impression of who is and why you “shouldn’t mess with him.”
- He refused to get close to you, despite your efforts in trying to get him to loosen up.
- “You’re just gonna be a distraction.”
- “I’m here to beat Ushijima and become the ace of Shiratorizawa, not make friends.”
- Ah yes, the typical no bullshit shounen anime protagonist that ends up somehow becoming the little brother of the team.
- And also ends up as a tiny crush for a certain someone.
- You don’t really know when you started noticing him that much. He was kinda just... there.
- But alas, seeing how determined he is to get to the top? Mad respect.
- Maybe with time that respect slowly became admiration and attraction.
- You wanna know how determined he is? Think Kageyama, but times ten.
- This bitch waits for everyone to leave the gym after practise, then continues to train his ass off for hours. I’m talking 4-5 extra hours of training.
- You only know this because you stay behind in the gym to clean up the equipment, and he doesn’t leave the gym when you do, which is about an hour or two after practice ends.
- Whenever you ask him when he’s leaving, he just waves you off halfheartedly, usually muttering a casual “I’ll be leaving soon, don’t worry.”
- And if you think that’s it? Oh nononono.
- There has been one instance where you saw him passed out.
- Like Goshiki trained so hard he just blacked out due to exhaustion.
- How you found him?
- Well,
- Your dumbass left your textbooks in the gym, so you had to go back and retrieve it.
- It was like what, 8 in the evening, but the lights and air conditioning were still on.
- You were already weirded out, so you decided to be extra careful. You know how high schoolers are these days, who knows what they’re doing behind closed doors sometimes.
- You creak the doors open just a bit, taking a peep.
- And your eyes land on a motionless Goshiki just laying on the gym floor.
- That scene scared the shit out of you.
- You checked his pulse, and his breathing. To your relief, his pulse was still there, although it wasn’t as strong as it should be. However, his breathing was definitely shallower than usual.
- Thank god for that emergency treatment course you enrolled for last year. You knew how to treat Goshiki almost immediately, raising his legs and keeping them up with a stool you found. What you didn’t expect, was for him to not wake up even after 5 whole minutes of you checking on him.
- That time you literally called an ambulance.
- Needless to say you definitely scolded him when he woke up, before forcing him to eat and drink something.
- Turns out for the past months or so, he’s been training for an extra 4-5 hours a day, without enough food or water to replenish himself.
- It would be about 9-10pm when he got home, where he had to finish his homework and finally get some food in his system, mostly leftovers. When he’s done with homework, it would be around 1am, which would be when he actually cleans up and hauls his ass to bed.
- He has to wake up at 5am for morning practise.
- You were about to punch him when he told the doctor all that.
- Since that worrying experience, you’ve forced Goshiki to leave the gym after a maximum of two hours.
- You walked him to the bus station after every single practise, just to make sure he doesn’t pass out.
- (And also to stare at him while he listens to music and tosses the ball occasionally, but he doesn’t need to know that.)
- Goshiki honestly appreciates the walks to the bus stop and the casual conversations you guys can hold.
- And to be honest, he was pretty surprised you’d actually go along with what you said in the hospital and “Walk him home every single day until he’s done with volleyball in highschool.”
- These days you patiently wait for him to finish his extra practise, and set an alarm for 2 hours. Once those 2 hours are up, you’re dragging his ass out of the gym with his stuff all packed neatly. No buts, nope, don’t wanna hear it.
- Maybe it was the determination you had to make sure he was safe and healthy, or the dumb conversations you had every single day about mermaids getting laid and unicorns getting horny.
- Because with time, Goshiki eventually succumbed to his feelings and admitted to himself.
- He had fallen for you. Hard.
- And there was nothing he could do about it.
- Except,
- Avoid you as much as he could.
- Poor little Goshiki was so clueless that he thought avoiding you would eventually cause his feelings to just disappear like how my dad went to get the milk.
- Whenever he saw you in the hallways, he’d just blush and walk the other way, even if it was the opposite direction of where he was supposed to be going.
- Nope, no fist bump, hi five, nothing.
- Alas, he couldn’t avoid you much anyways, since you were the manager for the volleyball team, and you also persisted on walking him to the bus stop every single god damned day.
- All he could do was try and muster up the driest possible responses to anything you said.
- “So, how was practice? You feeling anywhere near as powerful as Ushiwaka yet?”
- “Eh, it was okay.”
- “You want something to eat or drink? We can go to that boba store around the corner from last week and get something.”
- “Nah, I’m good.”
- You were weirded out, to say the least.
- Since when did Goshiki pass on boba?
- “Oi, Tsutomu, are you feeling okay? You’re acting a bit odd.”
- You raised your hand to his forehead, feeling the warmth on your palm as Goshiki flared 50 different shades of red.
- “U-uh, my stop’s there, I’ll see you tomorrow bye-” he rambled, stuttering over his words before zooming towards the wrong station.
- “What just happened?”
- All Goshiki could do was get home as quick as possible, finish all his work, eat up, clean himself, and just scream into his pillow.
- “I’ve been avoiding her for so long, why is she still stuck in there?”
- He was being so blatantly obvious with avoiding you that the volleyball team eventually had to speak up.
- That went terribly.
- “Goshiki, why aren’t you focusing these days? Is there something troubling you?” -Shirabu
- “Plus, you haven’t even spared a glance at y/n, let alone talked to her. Aren’t you guys like best friends?” -Tendou
- “Goshiki do you like her?” -Ushijima
- Goshiki almost choked on his water.
- No, not almost. He definitely choked on his water.
- “What? ME? PLEASE! OF COURSE NOT!” -Goshiki, in denial, blushing
- “Seems like you do to us.” -Ushijima, as blunt as usual
- “Well then, you should’ve just told me Goshiki. I never knew you disliked me.”
- Oh shi-
- Well isn’t it convenient? You were standing right there with volleyballs in hand when he decided to belt out that statement.
- For the next few weeks, you both avoided each other as much as you can. You even stopped walking him to the bus stop.
- Until the day before their match against Karasuno.
- At this point, Goshiki had had enough.
- This was troubling him to an extent already, and he also had the match to worry about.
- At the end of practice, he waited until all the members of the team (especially Tendou) left the gym, before harshly pulling you into the storage room, pulling you down to sit next to him on the floor.
- “What do you want Goshiki-”
- “I like you. That’s it.”
- What the hell.
- Your mouth hung open, you face and neck feeling hot, as he made his way back into the gym, practising yet again. All you could do was sit in the storage room, still not comprehending what had just happened.
- Not knowing how to deal with this, you grabbed your stuff, and made your way home as quick as you can, not wanting to deal with the situation at hand yet. You flop onto your bed once you reach your room, and scream into the pillow out of frustration.
- “Why did I do that? That was my chance, I blew it! I’m so stupid oh my god.”
- Goshiki was also being extra aggressive with the volleyballs too. By the time he had finished his extra practise, his palms were scathed and sore, red marks scattered all over.
- During the match agaisnt Karasuno, he was extra nervous, not wanting to screw up.
- But at the same time, the events of yesterday replayed in his mind like a broken record. The way you stared at him in shock, not even making a sound. How you left the gym as quick as it happened, not sparing even a glance at him. It made him regret ever befriending you in the first place. He should’ve known that this was bound to happen.
- This led to him being extra aggressive during the match. Both teams were shocked and quite frankly, a bit intimidated too.
- Goshiki was fueled by all his pent up rage against himself, a seemingly dark aura radiating off of him on the court. He was stupid. An absolute imbecile. A moron. An idiot that put his heart on his sleeve, not once thinking about the consequences it could bring.
- When coach Washijo decided to scream “if you’re gonna stare, at least stare at a damn girl” at him, he sneered so hard at him his face was about to become permanently contorted. Even his own coach, the spawn of satan, was taken aback.
- The fact that Shiratorizawa ended up losing did not help. At all. All that did was make his day even shittier.
- Until you finally told him you reciprocated his feelings.
- Not long after the loss, the team all went their own way home, feeling miserable about the game.
- Goshiki had his earphones in, walking towards the bus station, head hung low as he silently sobbed, feeling like absolute shit.
- You caught up to him, before basically engulfing him in a huge hug from behind, nuzzling your head into his shoulder, refusing to let go.
- He was flustered, to say the least. Frozen in place, tears continued to stream down his face in steady streaks.
- “I’m sorry for your loss today, and for yesterday too.”
- His eyes widened at your apology as he furiously wiped the hot tears, his eyes still slightly puffy and his nose still red.
- At this moment, Goshiki needed someone. Desperately. In one swift motion, he had turned around and held you with an iron grip, a hand pushing your head into his chest, his back hunched with his head in the crook of your neck as he cried, this time letting the sobs and whimpers become audible. His salty tears met your skin, rolling down to your collarbone.
- “So the reason why you’ve been avoiding me was because you liked me?”
- Goshiki nodded into your neck, still crying.
- “Well I’ve liked you since the start of the school year too, so don’t worry. I’m here for you.”
- Hearing that, he detached himself from your neck, staring at you, surprised at how calm you were and how dense he had been.
- “Wait for real?”
- You were in a hurry, since you promised to run some errands, so you did the first thing that popped into your mind.
- On your tiptoes, you gave his lips a quick peck, before running away, your face completely red.
- “For the record Tsutomu, we’re dating now I guess.”
✨Dating✨
- What a sweetie.
- At first, he’s super secretive with the relationship, not wanting people to find out.
- Especially not his parents. He would have hell personally sent to him in a cute little death package if they ever found out he was dating someone.
- He tried his best not to show any trace of him being in a relationship during practice.
- But alas, Tendou once sneaked up on you two holding hands at school and instantly knew.
- This redhead announced it to the whole team that you two were dating and you almost beat him up.
- Now, he’s opened up a lot more about this than when it first started.
- No, his parents still don’t know about you two.
- But his friends knew not to hit on you, and the volleyball team would constantly tease him when you walked by, making kissy noises and over the top fake moans. Tendou once shoved two balls up his chest just to imitate you. You looked over to see your third year senior with an ahegao face, two volleyballs unevenly shoved into his shirt as he skipped around. You stared in disgust, giving him a slight scowl before turning around and continuing with your shit.
- Needless to say his other balls were absolutely wrecked by Goshiki.
- Will spoil you so badly like damn.
- Occasional gifts from lil bowl cut is something you should definitely expect.
- Sometimes you’ll just randomly find a new pair of earrings or a new phone case on your desk with a note from him, while your classmates stare in awe and lowkey envy you from afar.
- Very, very frequent dates.
- I’m talking like every weekend, and sometimes even after school on friday.
- Dates planned by Goshiki aren’t ever extravagant or anything, but god damn do they make you feel blessed. Usually it’s just to a cute cafe, maybe a carnival, or a movie date.
- Dates planned by you though? Ohohohoho he was in for so much fun. I’m talking trampoline parks, amusement parks, gaming cafes, volleyball dates, all that fun shit.
- You would let him teach you how to play volleyball, and end up laughing your ass off at how incredibly bad you were while he kinda just gives up on teaching you and goofs around.
- Your hands running through his hair is literally the best thing he has ever felt no cap.
- Likes to cup your cheeks a lot, just to make you flustered.
- (Secretly loves it so much when he’s able to make you all blushy because oh my god you look so cute.)
- You’re not allowed to sleepover at his, nor is he allowed to sleepover at yours because strict parents!
- The rare times when your parents allow you to go “help your friend Goshiki study,” you guys actually do serious studying.
- Then right after that comes the cuddling.
- Okay let’s be real, Goshiki would probably be really awkward at the start.
- He’d probably try make sure you were comfortable, so his body would be twisted into some weird position.
- But he eventually found his favourite way to cuddle with you, in a way where both of you could just lay in peace comfortably without breaking your backs.
- Most times, he would lie sideways on his bed facing you. He’d snake one hand around your lower back, the other to your head as he pulls you in close, resting you against his chest. You could hear his heartbeat, which sped up every time you nuzzled against him.
- Cute.
- Will give you pecks on the lips every single morning when he first sees you, wherever he is.
- It do not matter to him how many people are watching, he do not care. At all.
- Holds your hand e v e r y w h e r e .
- He’s also very fond of forehead kisses.
- He just finds them so heartwarming and intimate in a non sexual way.
- Every time something was bothering you, or you were just breaking down because of how shitty life was, he knows exactly what to do.
- He’d pull you into a tight hug, kissing the top of your head while drawing circles on your back with his fingers.
- If it was worse and you were crying, he likes to wipe your tears for you, kissing the stains on your cheeks, before planting a soft kiss on your forehead.
- Loves it when you wear his hoodies.
- They’re oversized on you and oh my god sweater paws are the death of him.
- You’re honestly relieved he’s not looking for anything sexual.
- He’s too pure for that shit, keep his innocence.
- You made a promise to cheer for him wearing his jersey whenever he played in matches, and you’ve never broken it.
- PDA.
- SO MUCH PDA.
- This boy. He loves showing you off to his teammates so much.
- “I may not be as good as Ushijima at volleyball yet, but at least I’m not a crusty single bitch.” -Goshiki to some rando that insulted his skills and personality
- “You guys go look for your own plus ones to the school dance, I’m keeping y/n.” -Goshiki to his friends
- “Stop imitating her Tendou-san, it’s insulting to her. You’re too odd to get even close to imitating her accurately.” -Goshiki to Tendou who had volleyballs in his shirt and pants
- Please just protect him at all costs, he’s so precious.
Love how the request was for relationship hcs and I ended up writing more backstory lmaoo
Still hope you liked it though I worked on this for days xx🥺🥰

A Place To Call Home (Fam ILY) Chapter 2
Read it on ao3 Rating: T Warnings: Age regression, mentioned abuse
Taglist: @bunny222
Summary: Logan doesn’t feel things. That is, until he meets Patton. How far is he willing to go for this new boy his heart swells for? Patton’s friend Virgil puts that to the test.
Logan was never one for indulging his emotions. All his life he was taught to repress them, push them deep down inside and never let them come to the surface. Emotions made you vulnerable, weak, prone to manipulation. And he never wanted to seem like he could be manipulated. He needed to be strong, and be able to face whatever came his way. That meant sacrificing feeling, hurting, being. Emotions weren’t necessary anyway.
Then he met Patton. It was a pretty slow day at the bookshop, which was saying something since they were tucked away in the corner of a rarely visited strip mall. Come to think of it, Patton was probably the only customer that day. The only one that mattered, anyway.
The bell rang, and as soon as the boy walked in, Logan was absolutely smitten. At least, that’s what he guessed that he was feeling, since he hadn’t really felt it before now.
He was on the short, chubby side, with a mop of curly blonde hair on his head, and clear blue eyes that could be seen from a mile away. With every step he took the room seemed to glow a little bit brighter, and Logan swore he started hearing birds chirping in the distance.
The boy peeked around for a bit, an awed smile plastered over his face. “Oh, hello there! I’m Patton!” He held out his hand, after noticing Logan behind the counter.
The world seemed to stop for a second. All Logan could process was Patton’s bright smile. He forgot how to breathe, he forgot how to think, and he was always thinking.
“L-Logan.” He managed to stutter out, taking Patton’s hand. It was soft, and warm.
“Well, it’s very nice to meet you, Logan!” Patton smiled. “So, I’m looking for a new cookbook, and I thought of going to Bookman’s, but I always go there and they never seem to have new stuff, so I just thought I’d look at some other places in town, and…”
Everything else around Logan started to blur, including Patton’s voice. He was only able to focus on the way Patton’s mouth moved and hands wavered when he talked. He was getting lightheaded, and knots were forming in his stomach.
“Wow, I really love this place, it’s so cozy!” Patton giggled, having moved further into the store. That snapped Logan’s attention back to reality, and they stared at each other for a few moments.
“I’m sorry, you wanted a cookbook, you said?” Logan said, stepping up from behind the counter. He led Patton over to that section, a little corner near the back of the store.
Patton looked thoroughly through the shelves, inspecting each book to find what he was looking for. He muttered things to himself occasionally. “No, nuh-uh, already have that one…”
Then he let out an excited gasp, eyes settling on an old, worn out, vintage looking book with a leather cover and frayed edges. He flipped through it, looking with awe at the hand-written recipes.
“Oh my gosh, this is perfect! Thank you so much!” He squealed happily, eyes and smile bright. Logan furrowed his brows. “But I didn’t, write the book-”
“Well, no, but you helped me find it! That wouldn’t have happened without you! So thank you.” Patton smiled genuinely, holding the book close to his chest.
Logan’s face flushed a bright red, even redder than it had been all morning. He cleared his throat. “It was no problem, I was just doing my job.” He stated, trying to come off as nonchalant and relaxed, and failing miserably.
Patton caught on to the way he was crushing, with his eyes glossed over and his mouth agape only slightly. “You know, I’ve been really busy lately, but I managed to get some free time, actually tomorrow, so if you’re free, then, maybe we could do something together?”
Logan’s breath hitched. His heart shot up to his throat. “Y-you mean, l-like a, a date?”
“Well, it doesn't HAVE to be a date, but if you want it to be, then, yeah! It’s a date!”
Logan felt like he was gonna pass out. “S-Sure, yeah, t-totally. D-Do you wanna get coffee? Coffee’s a good, date thing, right?”
“Oh, well, I’m not a big fan of coffee, I’d much prefer tea.” Patton smiled nervously.
“Oh, oh yeah, me too.” Logan adjusted his glasses, glancing away. “I don’t know why I said coffee, it was a dumb idea.”
“Well, I CAN like coffee, it just has to be filled with other sweet stuff, like chocolate or caramel or whip cream. Like those really fancy frappuccinos at Starbucks! Although, Starbucks would be too basic, and expensive…”
Patton trailed off in thought, then gasped. “Oh, I know the perfect place! It’s this quaint little coffee shop downtown who also has a great selection of teas. I’m friends with the owner's son! Here, let me write it down.”
He grabbed a miniature notebook and pen from his back pocket and scribbled down an address, tearing the page off and handing it to Logan. “I’m free tomorrow at noon! Does that sound good?”
Logan blinked, looking down at the note in front of him. Oh god, even his handwriting was perfect. “S-Sure, yeah. I can fit in some time.”
Patton smiled. “Great! I’ll see ya then! Here, let me pay for this.”
They walked up to the counter together, Logan almost grasping Patton’s hand. Almost.
Logan took the book, ringing it up and handing it to Patton. “Here you go.” He said with a small smile, admiring Patton’s freckles.
“Thanks! Have a great day! See you tomorrow!” Patton waved, basically skipping out of the store, book in his arms.
Logan let out a breath. Now that he was gone, there was this empty feeling growing in his chest, and his vision did not stop clouding over. What the hell was that?
This was wrong, this was all wrong. Logan didn’t fall in love, especially not at first sight. It was something that just wasn’t done. But the way that his heart was hammering in his chest, the way he could feel his face getting redder and redder, it was getting pretty hard to ignore.
No, he couldn’t let this happen. He composed himself, straightening his tie and going back to his work. But soon his thoughts started to drift back to that curly haired boy with the golden freckled and baby blue eyes.
It was gonna be a pretty hard day tomorrow.
Logan woke up early that day, barely getting any sleep the night before. He got dressed in his best dress shirt and tie, and after his shift, stepped out in the hot sun to meet Patton at the coffee shop, preparing himself for any more waves of those dumb feelings.
When he arrived at the place, it took a moment for him to find Patton, since it was so crowded already. But once Patton spotted him he waved him down. “Hey Logan!”
Patton ran up to him, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the counter. Logan was startled, but followed as fast as he could.
“Logan, this is my friend, Remy! He’s the owner’s son!” He motioned to the man behind the counter. He had a leather jacket and dark sunglasses. Logan wondered why he would need sunglasses inside.
“Sup.” Remy greeted nonchalantly. He was leaning on the counter, looking at Logan through his glasses. “Hello.” Logan responded, still wondering about those damn sunglasses.
“Well, I know what I want! Logan?” Patton said, turning to him. Logan was snapped out of his train of thought, then looked at the menu. “Um, just a black tea, please. Cream, no sugar.”
“Okay! I’d like, let’s see…” Patton took some time, eyes scanning the chalkboard. “Oh! I’d like a honeydew with popping boba please!”
Logan’s brows furrowed. “Boba?”
Patton gasped. “You’ve never had boba tea before?!” Logan shook his head, still a bit confused.
“Oh man, you’ve got to try some! Here, make that two orders of the boba.” Patton turned to Remy. “Coming right up.” He said, taking down their orders and handing it to the baristas.
“Oh, Patton, you didn’t have to-”
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll pay for it!” Patton smiled. Logan was taken aback. He always thought that he would be the one to pay for everything if he ever went on dates, which he thought would never happen, but he was grateful nonetheless.
They got their drinks and sat down, Patton looking out the window. “Yah know, my friend Virgil and I love coming to this place.” He said, taking a sip of his tea.
“Do you?” Logan asked, taking a sip of his black tea as well.
“Yeah! He’s been really busy lately. I wonder if he’s doing okay…” Patton trailed off, lost in his thoughts.
Logan hummed, then looked down at his two drinks. “So, what’s up with this, boba?”
“Oh, right! Well, boba tea is like any other cold tea really, it just has these little tapioca pearls at the bottom! They can also be popping boba, different types of jellies, it can be all sorts of things really!”
Patton continued on, rambling about all the different combinations of flavors and toppings. Logan just stared, smiling slightly. He didn’t catch everything Patton was saying, but tried to listen as intently as possible.
“So? Are you gonna try it?” Patton asked, snapping Logan out of his thoughts. He hummed. “I suppose so.”
And with that, he took a sip of the boba. The pearls shot into his mouth, along with the sweetness of the tea. He cringed slightly, getting used to chewing on the pearls.
“It’s really sweet.” He commented, managing to swallow it all down. Patton frowned slightly. “Do you still like it?”
Logan thought about it for a minute. “While I’m not used to it, and it’s a bit too sweet, and chewy, for my liking, I guess there is some novelty in it, so I can appreciate it at least.”
Patton smiled, a goofy look in his eye. “I guess it’s not really your cup of tea then?”
Logan’s brows furrowed, then sighed in understanding. “Yes, I get it, very funny.”
Patton broke out into laughter. Logan couldn’t help but smile as well. Maybe, maybe he could do this whole dating thing after all.
It had been almost a month since then. Logan pulled into the parking lot, locking his car and walking towards Patton’s apartment. He was supposed to work late that day, but he got off early, and decided to try and do something romantic for him. This was romantic, right?
He slid his key in the lock; Patton had given it to him a few days earlier. He stepped in, trying to be quiet. He definitely heard Patton, but it seemed like he was, talking to someone?
Then he heard the second voice, which was sort of familiar. He couldn’t understand what they were saying, but their voices seemed frantic and nervous.
“Logan! You’re home!” Patton smiled anxiously, peeking from the bedroom. “Weren’t you supposed to be working late?”
“Yes, but I was able to get off early.” Logan said, suspicious. “Is there anything wrong?”
“Nope! Nothing wrong at all!” Patton laughed, trying and failing to keep up his cheery guise. Logan rolled his eyes, walking towards the bedroom, ignoring Patton’s protests. “Wait, Logan, don’t!”
Logan stopped in the doorway. There he saw a small boy curled up in the corner between the bed and the wall, trying to hide himself from Logan. There were coloring books and crayons sprawled all over the floor, and a sippy cup tipped over next to them.
Logan squinted his eyes in recognition. “Virgil?” The boy looked up for a second, eyes wide, then avoided his gaze, shutting his eyes in fear.
“Look, Logan, can I talk to you for a sec?” Patton gently pulled him aside. “Remember the thing that I talked to you about? Where I act like a kid sometimes to handle stress?”
“Ah, yes, age regression, I remember.” Logan recalled the conversation, and recalled that as long as it was helping Patton he supported it.
“Well, Virgil does it too.” Patton admitted. “I’m kind of his caregiver. I didn’t tell you because he doesn’t like people knowing. I’m actually the only one that knew until you came home today.”
Logan blinked. “Why wouldn’t he want anyone knowing. I mean, I understand privacy, but if it’s helping with his stress then it shouldn’t be looked down upon.”
“I know, that’s what I keep trying to tell him! He just has a lot of trust issues.” Patton lowered his voice. “His parents were really neglectful, and kind of abusive. Not to mention he had to deal with a toxic ex a while ago.”
Logan let out a breath of realization. “Ah, I see. Well, if it’s that bad, then I can understand how he isn’t prepared to deal with people. May I talk with him?”
“If he’s up for talking, then I guess you could try.”
Logan stepped in carefully, not making any sudden movements. “Virgil? May I talk to you?”
The boy shook his head vigorously, still avoiding eye contact. Logan sighed, bending down to his level. “I promise, I won’t do or say anything that’s going to hurt you.”
Virgil looked up slowly, but couldn’t keep eye contact for long. “Don’, don’ wanna…”
“I know you don’t want to, and I know that it’s scary. But I’d like to talk with you now so there are no unresolved issues. Do you understand?”
Virgil tried, but shook his head. “Gonna, gonna hate me…” He sobbed, tears spilling down his cheeks.
“Oh Virgil.” Logan sighed. “I assure you that I will not, nor ever, hate you. If regressing is something that brings you comfort and healing, then I am one hundred percent supportive of it. In fact, I am willing to help out, with whatever you need me for.”
Virgil looked up at him, eyes wide in disbelief. Patton had caught that bit of conversation too, and quietly gasped, starting to smile.
“Really?” Virgil asked. Logan nodded. “Really.”
Patton couldn’t contain his excitement any longer. “Oh, thank you thank you thank you!” He exclaimed, running up to Logan and hugging him from behind.
“Of course.” Logan smiled, turning around to face Patton. “When I said I would be there for you, I meant it. Whatever you need me for, I will be here. And if that means taking care of you, both of you, then I will do it gladly.”
Patton smiled wide, tears forming in his eyes. “You’re the best, Logan.” He said, hugging him tighter.
They broke their hug, Patton now turning to Virgil. “See, baby bat? He’s here for you, just like I am. Do you wanna give him a hug? You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
Virgil thought about it, but in the end shaking his head no, still hiding his face. Logan nodded. “It’s fine, I understand. If you need me to leave, I will.”
Surprisingly, Virgil shook his head no to that too. Logan blinked, taken aback. “You want me to stay?”
Virgil nodded his head, looking up at him. Patton smiled at the two, pulling them close. “I love you guys so much!”
Virgil and Logan glanced at each other, a mutual understanding between them. Maybe this could work out after all.

Teacher’s Pet
Din Djarin x Reader
Modern Au. Teacher Reader. For fic purposes baby Yoda is Damien. When you haven’t written in months but your friend wants something specific so you had to do it to em.
Tumblr media
“This isn’t a bit much?” Abby asked, surveying the scene in front of herself. “You spent your whole day with the kids during school. Aren’t you tired?”
“A little, but why not let the kids have some fun over here. It’s nice, safe.” You went to straighten out the goodie bags and small toy boxes, making sure Damien got a green yo-yo and Alexis got her favorite unicorn stickers. “Besides, Halloween fell on Wednesday this year. I just wanted to help out the parents some by having one place they could come and leave without all the walking around.”
“Those kids are lucky to have you,” Abby decided, grabbing a handful of popcorn that was set on a table and sitting down on a chair. “Can I flirt with the local hot single dads?”
“Nope. You can’t. There’s only one and he hardly ever comes to the little events. He works out of town a lot.”
Abby sighed, wistfully, “What me and that mystery man could have had would have been special.”
“It’s a pity we’ll never get to see it.”
“...Any single moms?”
“You can’t date my kid’s parents. Next year, when they’re in first grade you can do what you want.” You heard a knock at the front door, “Well it’s time to start up this show.”
“Miss LN!” You heard a cheerful student call out, “My mommy and I are here!”
You opened the door, smiling down at the child , “Amado! Let me guess! You’re a...robot!”
He giggled happily, “No silly! I’m a Power Ranger! And you’re Ms. Frizzle!”
“I am? I didn’t even get dressed up today. This is just what I wear at home. Look! Jesse just got here.”
A couple more kids started arriving with their parents. Some parents came in full costume and others looked like they came straight from a stressful day at work. The parents rested, talking amongst themselves, while the children played games in the backyard, coming back in occasionally for food and drinks. Abby was already sat on the arm of a couch talking to Nathan’s mom. Occasionally a parent would chat you up and you’d tell them about how well their children were doing in class.
Doing a head count you noticed two kids hadn’t made it. So you made sure to put away Damien and Avery’s goodie bags in your purse to make sure you’d give them to the kids tomorrow. After an hour or so, the families started to leave. Some kids being held by their parents half asleep and others still hyped up on sugar. It was down to five kids before you heard a knock at the door again.
“Look at you! A little Yoda and Boba Fett.”
Damien surged forward to hug your leg, “Hello.”
“Hey, little man,” you answered fondly, “Who’s our Boba Fett today?”
“It’s my dad!” He pouted when his father started to take off the helmet, “You lost rock, paper, scissors. You have to keep the helmet on all night.”
You heard an amused breathy chuckle, but his father’s hands went down all the same. “I’m sorry for being late Ms. LN,” he offered a hand, “I’m Din Djarin, Damien’s father.”
You smiled shaking his hand, “It’s not any trouble Mr. Djarin. I’m glad the two of you got to make it. There’s still some food and soda if the two of you are hungry.”
“I’m sorry, I promised the little guy I’d spend Halloween with the mask on if I made it back in time.”
“I’m sure we can sneak you a couple of slices of pizza in the kitchen,” you said with a wink.
Damien had already walked off to play with some other kids. His father long forgotten in the front room.
“I am glad to finally meet you,” Din said suddenly, “Dame, speaks very highly of you and now I can see exactly why he’s so obsessed with the Magic School Bus.”
You weren’t sure if he had intended it to sound so nice, but that didn’t stop your blush. “Yeah. If it was his choice that’s all we’d watch during calm down time.”
“It drives Cara crazy,” he laughed.
“Damien is a good kid in class. Sometimes a bit rebellious.”
“Yeah, that’s my fault. I’m away so much I’m a bit of a pushover when it comes to things. Now, things are going to change a bit. Decided a desk job may be the way to go for a while. Raising the little one is top priority and two years hasn’t been enough to wrap my head around parenting.”
“Two years?” You asked curiously.
He nodded, “I adopted him. He was in a really bad spot, then I had to watch him for a week. Which went as good as you could have thought. I had never really interacted with kids beforehand and then this little guy with big brown eyes depended on me. It’s hard not to get attached.”
“Takes a big man to step up. If it’s anything to you, Damien is a pretty great kid. You’ve definitely got a knack for the parenting thing. And if you don’t tell, he’s my favorite.”
“Miss LN,” a student called out, “Come play with us!”
“Yeah!”
“Please!”
“I’m sorry Mr. Djarin, got to get going or they’ll start a riot.” Damien already ran in and started pulling you out of the house. You offered Din a small smile before leaning over to pick up Damien. “Having a nice time?”
He gave you a toothy smile before cuddling into your neck. “Yes, ma’am. Thank you.”
You pressed a kiss to the side of his head before placing the child back on to the ground. “So kids!” You clapped your hands, “What are we going to play.”
Din had watched the small scene unfold. It wouldn’t be a lie to say his heart stirred a bit at the sight of you and his son. Maybe he was just easy when it came to Damien. Honestly, he hasn’t seen many people interact with the child outside of himself and Cara, sometimes their old neighbor if he was really desperate for a baby sitter.
Maybe now that things would be calming down some, he’d see what he could find. It would be nice to try for something.
He eyed you up while you played with the kids. God you were his type, party city wig and all. Something about you just called out to him or maybe he had just seen enough of Ms. Frizzle to confuse the hell out of himself. Either way, he did find you interesting.
It didn’t take long for the last of the kids to start trickling home. Abby had already snuck up to her bedroom. That left you, Din, and Damien on the couch. Damien was eagerly eating his slice of pizza, looking between the two adults. “Papa needs a girlfriend.”
You choked on your drink, more amused than anything. “He does?”
“Mhm, tia Cara said so! She said that’s why he’s so...so...uptight?”
“That’s enough, mijo,” Din said, tugging softly on a strand of Damien’s hair.
Damien laughed, moving to sit on his dad’s lap. The child tried unsuccessfully to whisper, “Ask Ms. LN to be your girlfriend. She’s so so so nice.”
Suddenly Din was glad he had a mask hiding his blush from you. “That’s enough, Dame.”
You laughed at the interaction between the two. “You sure you don’t want anything to eat Boba?”
“What if Ms. LN asks you to be her boyfriend?”
“Damien.” Din shook his head, “I’m fine. Thank you.” Anything to get him and his matchmaker son out of the home quickly. “We have to get going soon. Cara said she wanted to give him a Halloween surprise.”
“Suit yourself, Boba. I’ll have you know this is the best pizza in the galaxy,” you said as a way to distract Damien from his current topic, “Isn’t that right?”
“Yeah!” He said over a mouthful.
Din grabbed a napkin and cleaned off the pizza sauce on the child’s mouth. “I think it’s time the two of us get going. It’s getting late and I don’t want to take up too much of your time.”
“It wasn’t any trouble. I’m glad I finally got to meet you Mr. Djarin.”
“It was a pleasure, Ms. Frizzle.” He stood, his little Yoda snuggled in his arms. “I can’t wait until we meet again. Say good bye Dame.”
The child waved at you sleepily, “Bye bye.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow okay? Don’t give your dad too much trouble,” you said, ruffling his hair softly.
“Promise.”
You lead the pair to the front door. Din walked down the path to his car as you shut the door. You took off the cheap wig, tossing it who knows where. A look at your purse made you notice Damien’s goodie bag at the top of it. Grabbing it, you rushed out the door.
Din was still putting Damien in his car seat. “There you go papas. You want your blanket?”
“Mr. Djarin,” you called out.
He startled, closing the car door quickly. “Sorry. Can I help you?” He asked, turning to look at you.
Your breath caught in your throat, finally catching a glimpse of the man in question. He had messy dark tufts of hair and a scruffy looking mustache. “I...um,” you blushed when he caught you staring, “I forgot to give Damien his candy.”
Din gave you a smile that you could’ve died for. “You’re very kind. He’s lucky to have you.”
“I try my best,” you responded, still a bit captivated by the man.
“I’ll see you soon. Oh and I’m sorry about Damien. Cara has been drilling me to get out there lately and I guess he’s been paying more attention than I gave him credit for.”
“Hey,” you raised your hands, “it’s fine. I’m used to it anyhow, my roommate, Abby, has been pushing me to date anyone she thinks is even remotely single.”
“Abby,” he pointed back to the house, “Wouldn’t happen to be the woman celebrating over there.”
You didn’t bother to look over before laughing, “Most likely yeah. Well, Mr. Djarin I-“
“Din is fine.”
“YN.”
“YN,” he tested the name out, “I like it. I mean not that my opinion mattered. It just sounds pretty...I’m going to shut up now if that’s alright with you.”
You smiled, catching the man’s blush. “I’ll see you around Din.”
Din watched you walk up the path and close the door. “I like it,” he mocked himself, “Get caught in one pretty girl’s eye and you turn into a fool.” He looked to the side, noticing the girl at the curtain still laughing at him, “Hi Abby.”
Abby waved back, turning when she heard her bedroom door open. “Are we fraternizing with the student’s parents?”
“What do you mean?”
“I saw those smiles. He even did that frustrated thing when you say something stupid.”
“Did he?” You asked, a small smile on your face.
She pointed at you, “You’re gonna fuck a student’s dad.”
“I’m not. I’m not. That’s...wrong. I’m his son’s teacher.”
“He’s hot, you’re the hot young teacher. Hell, there’s probably even that spice of an age gap. Give him a spin.”
“You just want me to jump on anyone that looks in my direction.”
“Well, most of the time yeah. But he’s actually worth it.”
You rolled your eyes and scoffed. “I’m taking a shower and going to bed.”
“That’s right, you go get ready to see that daddy,” she called out after you, “Let him know you’re the best piece he’ll see all day.”
“Goodnight, Ab.”
-
“Cara, I can’t get his teacher out of my head,” Din complained, sipping on his whiskey.
“Go for it, Mando,” she told her old partner, “You’re the worst at opening up to people. She seems to catch your eye for whatever reason. What’s the harm in it?”
“With our lives and everything... I don’t know if I could risk it. Then trying to figure out if I let her in that far. It’s hard enough juggling a kid with all this.”
Cara took a swig of her beer, “Well, you’re on call for the worst case scenario at the moment. Aren’t you? Just tell her you’re some pencil pusher.”
“She’s not even interested in me. All she is is Damien’s beautiful teacher who’s supposed to be nice. That’s all. I’ll get her out of my head soon enough.”
“If you need an edge, you could always pull out the Mando. A better personality than the current love struck puppy one you’re pulling right now.”
The pair heard the familiar shuffle of little feet roaming through the house. “Papi,” Damien said, rubbing his eyes, “can you read me a story?”
“I should get going anyway.” Cara patted his shoulder, “Tell me how it goes with the your beautiful teacher. Though it is tragic really.”
Din picked up Damien, giving her a confused look, “What is?”
“Doing what you do for a living and you can’t help but fumble when you get someone’s attention.”
-
You got dressed the next morning. Admittedly, maybe you had spruced it up a bit in hopes of seeing Din. You hoped the feeling would pass soon. Having crushes on students parents wasn’t ideal. Hell, you could lose your job over even the idea of it with how strict your boss was. Still you couldn’t help remembering his smile every so often. You knew that man longer as Boba Fett than you had as himself and he still made you feel like a hormonal teenager.
At school you got the kid’s breakfasts ready, already knowing them well enough to know who’d pick cold or hot.
“Papa, I’m hungry,” you heard Damien complain from the hall, “Look my tummy’s going grrr grrr.”
You smiled, amused as Damien rubbed his belly. “Morning,” you greeted the pair.
Damien rushed over to put his things away in his cubbyhole. “Morning Ms. LN!” He bounded over your give you a hug before dashing to his table.
“Always is an eager little guy for breakfast.”
“He really is, I honestly don’t get understand where he get it, but I’m pretty sure he’s going to run my pockets dry when he’s a teenager.” Din shook his head watching Damien open the school’s breakfast box. “Oh, here,” Din offered you the cup in his hand, “I didn’t know what you’d prefer so I took a chance with hot chocolate.”
You smiled, grabbing the cup. “That’s very kind of you, Din.” You took a sip, eyes wandering over him curiously as he looked around the room. He was wearing a nice button up and black jeans, his hair considerably neater than last night. That man hit exactly all the boxes of what you liked the more that you’d sneak glances at him.
“Okay you little gremlin,” Din said walking over to Damien, “It’s time for me to go. I really liked that pumpkin you drew.”
Damien hugged his father, pressing a syrupy kiss to his cheek. “Are you going to pick me up today?”
“We’ll see okay? I still have to straighten some things out at work.”
“Okay,” Damien responded, somewhat put out.
Din stood back up, turning to look at you. “Same time tomorrow?”
You grabbed a wet wipe and went over to clean off the syrup from his cheek. The small imperfection annoying you. You gave him a sheepish look, “I’m sorry, I’m used to the kids.”
Din put his hand over yours, eyes trained on you. “It’s okay,” that increasingly familiar blush tinted his cheeks as he took the wipe, “I should really go now.”
You nodded, “I look forward to seeing you around more often, Din.”
“I look forward to seeing you too.”
He made his exit as more of your students made it into the classroom. A strange look from Alexis’s mom didn’t seem so bad in the long run. That man was going to drive you absolutely crazy if he kept this up.
“My dad told my tia that Ms. LN was beautiful.”
You couldn’t help a small laugh when you heard his table mates let out little gasps.

Big Surprise
Hey!! I actually wrote something for my domestic AU instead of just vaguely making references to it! Hope you guys like it! :D
Ages: Tup–1, Fives/Echo–2, Kix–7, Rex/Cody–10, Boba–12
~~~~~~~
"Just a minute!" Jango shouted down the hall. He shook the last few raindrops off of his coat and placed it on its hook. It started pouring outside a few hours earlier and he got caught in the rain on his way back from the airport. He was exhausted now, having been on a work trip, but at least his bosses were kind enough to give him the rest of the week off.
The door bell rang again. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" he shouted, making his way to the front door. He had no idea who it could be. He lived alone, except for the weeks he had the kids, and he didn't have visitors often.
The door bell rang one more time as he started unlocking the door. Who could be so impatient that the-
"Kids?" Jango said, looking over them with shock. "What are you doing here?" The wind shifted and started blowing onto the front porch. "Nevermind," he said, shaking his head as Rex opened his mouth to answer. "Just get inside." He stood back in the doorway, waving them through. "Come on, out of the rain." Rex nudged Felix and Eli through the door, followed by Kix and himself, then Cody carrying both his bags and the younger twins', and finally Boba, who carried a sleeping Tup in his arms.
Jango took Tup from Boba and shut the door behind him. "What are you kids doing here?" he asked again.
"Mom told us we were staying with you for a while," Boba answered. There was a hard set to his eldest's gaze as he spoke that worried Jango. He looked out the window and could just barely make out the figure of his ex-wife's car driving away through the rain.
"Go put your bags in your rooms and change out of your wet clothes," he told the other kids. "I don't want you to get sick."
The five of them nearly knocked him over as they raced up the stairs to their rooms, leaving just him, Boba, and Tup in their wake of chaos and shouting. Speaking of Tup...
The one year old shifted in his arms, woken up by all the noise and movement of the last few minutes. Tup blinked up at him with his big, bright eyes and smiled.
"Hey, ad'ika," Jango said, pressing kiss to his soft curls. "You can go back to sleep now."
Tup tucked his head under Jango's and closed his eyes again. Jango smiled as he locked the door and turned back to Boba.
"Your mom's supposed to have you for the rest of the week," he said. "What changed?"
Boba shook his head. "I don't know. She just came to us out of nowhere and told us we needed to pack everything up because we were going to be staying with you."
Jango sighed. What was Kamino up to now? "I'll call her in a bit and find out what happened," Jango said, running a hand down his face. Boba still looked tense though. "She say anything else?" he asked.
Boba sighed, his shoulders finally falling. He may have been twelve, but Jango thought he was way too young to have all this happen to him. "No," Boba replied. "She just- I wish she would have told me what's going on."
Jango patted him on the shoulder. "You and me both, ad'ika." Boba gave him a weak smile then left to go unpack while Jango headed into the kitchen.
Kix was already there, sitting at the kitchen table with some paper and crayons, legs swinging as he worked. Jango wasn't surprised that he was done unpacking, Kix was probably the most organized out of all his children. Cody was the only one who even came close to being as organized as Kix, though he supposed it was too early to tell for the younger twins and Tup.
"Did you have dinner yet?" Jango asked, ruffling his son's hair as he walked past.
"Nope," Kix replied as he batted his hand away. Jango smiled and walked over to the fridge.
"I wasn't planning on having you over so soon, I don't know that I have much in the way of food," he said, scanning the various shelves. He would have to take a trip to the store tomorrow. And find someone to watch the kids while he was out. He'd learned from past experience that it was definitely not a good idea to take all seven of his kids to go grocery shopping with him.
"I might have a frozen pizza and some pizza rolls in the freezer," he said. "Would that be good enough just for tonight?"
Kix nodded enthusiastically. "Pizza rolls!" he exclaimed, jumping up and down.
Jango shushed him, trying very hard not to smile. "You'll wake up Tup if you keep shouting like that."
Kix's eyes darted from him, to Tup, and back again. "Pizza rolls!" he whispered loudly, still with as much excitement as before. Jango couldn't help but laugh and he ruffled Kix's hair again.
"Go tell your brothers dinner will be ready in 10 minutes," he said, pulling the food out from the freezer. Kix ran off, already shouting about pizza rolls halfway up the staircase.
Jango set Tup down in the playpen in the living room and finished putting the pizza rolls in the oven. Then he pulled out his cellphone and moved into the quiet of the back hall.
He punched Kamino's number in, holding the cell up to his ear and waiting as it rang. It went straight to voicemail.
Jango sighed, ending the call. He thought about trying again, but the timer on the oven beeped. He flipped the phone shut and put it back in his pocket. He'd try calling Kamino again after dinner.
Felix and Eli were already sitting down at the table when he walked back in. Felix was rambling on and on to his twin and to Kix, who stood by Rex as they both tried to get the plates down. Jango helped pull them down to a reachable level and left the two of them to pass the dishes out as he pulled the food out of the oven. He set the tray on the table just as Cody and Boba walked in.
"Ulyc, bic nadala," Jango said, right as Cody popped a pizza roll into his mouth.
"Ow, ow, ow, hot!" he exclaimed, nearly spiting it back out onto the plate.
Jango gave a him a look. "What did I just say?"
"N'eparavu takisit, buir," Cody mumbled through his full mouth.
Kix pulled a few off the pan for himself and the younger twins, shaking his fingers and blowing on them afterwards. "Hot, hot, hot!"
"Hot, hot, hot!" Eli repeated back. His son had a habit of repeating nearly everything he heard, earning him the nickname "Echo" from most of his family. Even Felix had taken to calling him by that name.
Said twin was now eyeing his plate carefully. He took a deep breath and tried to blow on the food.
"Udesii, ad'ika," Jango told him as his face started to get red. "You'll make your head hurt.
"Udesii!" Eli shouted. Jango looked over at him and saw that he somehow managed to get pizza sauce all over his hands.
"Alright, come here, my little Echo," he said, lifting the two year old out of his seat. "Let's get you washed up and then you can go back to eating." He turned the faucet in the kitchen on and held Eli over the sink so he could rinse his hands.
"Me and Cody were never as bad as them, were we, Dad?" Rex asked from behind him.
"Oh no," Jango said, shutting off the water and grabbing a towel. "You two were much worse."
"Hey!" they shouted in unison.
Jango smirked. "Well, at least you were better than Boba. The stories I could tell about that kid-"
"Dad!" Boba hissed, cheeks and ears quickly growing red.
"Ooh, Dad has stories about you?" Cody said, resting his chin in his hands and looking more devious than a ten year old had any right to be.
Rex, always following the lead of his twin, moved his chair closer to Boba and grinned. "I bet those stories would be very interesting to hear."
"Dad!" Boba hissed again.
"Adike, gev," Jango replied, sitting Eli back down in his seat. Rex and Cody backed off. For now at least. They would make another attempt at getting dirt on their ori'vod later, Jango was sure.
"Well, Boba, since I came to your rescue," Jango smirked, "mind getting Tup and feeding him for me?" Boba narrowed his eyes, but nodded his head and got up to get Tup. Jango grabbed the cereal from the pantry and poured it into a bowl along with some milk. He set it down in front of Tup's highchair just as Boba walked in with his youngest brother.
They set Tup up in his chair, the one year old watching their movements with wide eyes. "Boba's gonna feed you, alright?" he said. Tup looked over at his ori'vod and grinned, smacking his hands against the table and making happy shrieking noises.
"I'm going to go make a few calls," he said to the rest of them. "Can I trust you to stay out of trouble for a few minutes?"
"Trouble!" Eli exclaimed.
"Nooooooo!" Felix moaned, giggling and slapping his palms to his forehead. "No trouble, Echo!"
Jango smiled and shook his head before walking up the stairs to the master bedroom and shutting the door behind him. He pulled out his phone and tried calling Kamino again.
The phone rang, and rang, and rang. No answer.
He sighed as the pre-recorded message played. "Kamino, what happened?" he said, leaving her a voicemail this time. "You weren't supposed to drop the kids off with me till next week. You didn't call, didn't leave a message to warn me, nothing. A few minutes earlier and I wouldn't have been home for them! You-" Jango cut himself off. This wasn't the time for this. He and Kamino could sort out all their problems later. What mattered now was finding out what happened.
"Just call me back soon," he said, hanging up.
He looked down at his phone, debating on whether or not he should call again. Then he remembered. If Kamino wasn't answering, there was another thing he could try.
He dialed a new number, after a few minutes of searching for it, and waited for someone to pick up.
"Hello?" the man on the other end said.
"Mr. Dyas?"
"Ah, Mr. Fett! Nice to talk with you again!" Sifo Dyas, the landlord of Kamino's apartment building, was a kindly old man, and one well acquainted with their family. He helped them smooth out their arrangements back when he and Kamino first got the divorce, and for that Jango would always be grateful. "Can I help you with something?"
"Actually, you can," he said. "Is Kamino there? I haven't been able to reach her on her cell."
The other end was silent. "Mr. Dyas?" he asked.
"I- I'm sorry, Mr. Fett, I thought you were aware," the man stammered.
"Aware?" he asked, worry seeping into his voice no matter how hard he tried to prevent it. "Aware of what?"
"Well..." the old man paused. "I'm afraid that Ms. Kamino has terminated her contract with me."
Jango nearly dropped the phone. "She did what?"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Fett. I thought you knew."
"No- no, don't be sorry, Mr. Dyas, I-" Jango took a deep breath. "Thank you for telling me."
"Of course." The unsaid words hung in the silence between them. Jango realized he wasn't the only one who saw what Kamino might have done. It shocked Jango. Suddenly, everything felt very, very real. "Should I, uh, send any items left in her apartment to you then?" the man asked hesitantly, cutting through the silence and Jango's spiraling thoughts.
He fought to keep his voice even. "Yes. Please. Thank you, Mr. Dyas."
"Anytime." The older man's voice took on a somber tone. "Take care, Mr. Fett."
Jango nodded, then realized Mr. Dyas couldn't see the motion. "Same to you," he replied, ending the call. He dialed Kamino again right away.
It didn't even ring.
"Sorry, this phone has been disconnected from serv-"
Jango didn't bother listening to the rest of the message. He sat down on the edge of his bed and buried his head in his hands, trying to convince himself that this wasn't happening.
Something similar had happened years ago, before Eli and Felix were born. One day Kamino had just up and left, checked herself into a motel, and didn't come back for four weeks. She left a note for him so he knew where she was, but that was it. He called her, attempted to talk to her a few times in person, but otherwise she avoided all contact with him and their family. No matter how many times he pleaded with her, she wouldn't come back. It was probably the most stressful month of his entire life.
Then one day she walked back into the house and pretended like nothing ever happened. Jango didn't know what was up with her. Every time he tried talking to her about it, she'd change the subject. He would have done anything to help her, but she refused him every time, the tensions between them only getting worse and worse by the day. That was when they decided on divorce.
And now it seemed like Kamino had up and done it again. This time, there was no warning or note left behind. She cut off all contact with them. Jango couldn't help but think that this time she had left for good.
He called a few other friends of the family and all said the same thing: Kamino had cut off all contact with everyone she knew, disappearing without telling anyone where she was going.
That was it then. She really had left.
Jango rubbed a hand over his face, falling back on the bed. There were so many things running through his mind. How he was going to deal with her being completely gone, people he needed to notify about the current situation, gaining full custody of the kids-
The kids.
He bolted upright. God, he had to tell the kids. He knew their relationship with their mom recently hadn't been the best, but this news was going to crush them.
"Dad?" a voice came from outside his closed door. It sounded like Kix. "Are you in there?"
"I'll be down in a minute, ad'ika," he called back, grateful for the fact that his voice stayed even. He heard footsteps heading down the stairs and took a deep breath. It was better to tell them now than to have them find out later.
He went back downstairs. The kids were in the living room. Tup was back in his playpen, Kix was playing on the floor with Felix and Eli, and Rex, Cody, and Boba had all taken up spots on the couch as they watched something on TV. When he came in, Rex moved to sit on the floor to make room for him.
Haar'chak, his kids were so nice. They didn't deserve to have this happen to them.
"Buir?" Kix said, getting up and sitting on his lap. "I overheard you talking about Mom." His son looked at him worriedly. "Is she okay?"
"I... I don't know, ad'ika," he replied, heart clenching at the thought of the conversation he was about to have.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Boba asked, sitting up a bit straighter.
"She won't answer any of my calls," Jango sighed. "...her phone's been disconnected."
"Disconnected?" Rex said, tilting his head back to see them better. Even upside down Jango could see the confusion on Rex's features. "Why would it be disconnected?"
"I overheard Mom say something about selling the apartment," Kix mumbled. Kix turned in his lap and buried his face in Jango's chest. "She was acting weird. I didn't like it."
Jango smoothed Kix's hair away from his face and kissed his son's head, holding him tight. "She say anything else?" he asked. Kix shook his head.
"Dad..." Boba said, eyes wide. "Did Mom sell the apartment?"
He closed his eyes and let out a sigh. He wasn't going to lie to them. He couldn't. Not ever. "Yeah. She sold it. Mr. Dyas confirmed it."
Boba sucked in a breath, looking pained. Tup started whining in the playpen and Rex got up to let him out, looking between them all warily as he did. "Cody," Boba said, nearly shaking as he grabbed his brother's arm. "When you were pulling our suitcases out of the truck, was there another one in there that wasn't ours?"
Cody frowned. "What? There wasn't another suitcase. The only other thing in there was-" Cody stopped, eyebrows raising as something dawned on him. "I think I remember seeing something all the way in the back, covered by a blanket. It.... it could have been a suitcase. Maybe." Cody looked between him and Boba. "But what does that have to do with anything?"
Boba's face fell. "Did she...?" He trailed off, but Jango still knew what he was asking. His eldest was smart, and all the clues pointed to one thing.
"Yeah," he said softly. "I think she did."
Boba bit his bottom lip. He looked like he was trying not to cry. "How could she?" he whispered. Then he scowled, pushing himself off the couch and storming away. Jango let him go.
"You guys aren't making any sense," Rex said, setting Tup on the ground by Echo and Felix. "What happened with Mom?"
Cody moved closer to him, curling up at his side. His eyes held the first traces of tears and the sight made Jango's heart ache. "Mom's gone, isn't she?"
Jango swallowed, nodding. "I'm sorry," he said, wrapping his other arm around Cody and holding him close. Kix started sniffling and Jango pressed another kiss into his hair. "I'm so sorry."
He looked back up at Rex, who was shaking his head like he couldn't believe it. "No, she- she couldn't- how, she can't- she can't just leave us-"
"Ad'ika," Jango said, trying to get his son to stop spiraling. Rex was the type of person who often needed to sort out his thoughts, but sometimes it could get out of hand. "Sushir at ni. It'll be okay, we'll-"
"You don't know that," he whispered. "You don't know that it'll be okay.
"Rex..." Jango tried, but stopped once he found he couldn't think of anything else to say. He didn't know how to comfort his son. Not over something like this.
Rex shook his head, turning and walking away. Cody, after a moment of indecision, got up and chased after his twin. Kix just buried his face further into Jango's chest and Jango rocked them both back and forth. Felix, Echo, and Tup watched them from the floor. They didn't understand what was happening, they were too young. He wondered if they would even remember their mother when they were older.
Because Kamino was gone, and no one knew if she would ever come back. She left them, and now Jango was the single parent of seven children.
Haar'chak, what were they going to do?
Jeno... It just didn’t feel right not seeing him in the morning. Not seeing him smile at you when he hand you your drink His cute smile…
(A/N: this had been in my draft’s since last year and I'm finally posting ahaha...ive been so dead on here oml it's scary.  maybe I should actually announce when I go on Hiatus but its not like any anon’s ask me what's up....pls talk to me I'm lonely yall.)
Tumblr media
Up the small hidden staircase that was hidden between the endless buildings in your city’s Chinatown stood a small family-owned bubble tea restaurant:
“Mrs.Lee’s boba shop”
You went there every morning
Because It was the closest bubble tea shop from where you worked, so it was just convenient.
Every day you went you would get the same thing:
A medium Coffee milk tea with extra boba.
After a while of you going there every morning, the lady that works there, Mrs.Lee, started to recognize you.
She called you “coffee girl” whenever you would come in before she knew your name.
The day she finally found out your name was when you went there with your co-worker one day.
And she overheard him say your name.
*cough* stalker much but I ain’t judging *cough*
It’s a kind gesture so you’re not complaining
Anyways the two people who worked there was Mrs.Lee and her son,
Lee Jeno.
Apart from his mother, Jeno is the one making the drinks in the back.
And not gonna lie,
You kinda got a thing for him.
Like ok, boba is great but getting to see Jeno every day is kinda better.
Him being the one who makes the tea, he’s the one who gives it to the customers at the end where you pick up your order.
“Medium coffee milk tea with extra boba” Jeno would say, knowing fully well that you ordered it.
When you would come and retrieve it, he always gave you a kind moon-crescent shaped smile as you took it from his hand.
Ahhh do you hear that?
It’s the sound of a heart bursting from one-sided love!
Hahaha…
It’s just a small crush, you’ll get over it eventually.
So anyway, after you get your boba you go to work and continue your day there.
Usually, you would be put on morning shift so you would be the other opening the restaurant.
Well. Your coworker Yuta would open it while you got boba
let’s just say you were there with him haha...
But one day your managers changed it
You went back home after your shift and got a call from your manager,
“Y/n, could you close the store tomorrow? You’ll start work around noon” your manager had asked and of course, you agreed...you can finally sleep in.
The next day you woke up around noon, a few hours before you had to start work so it’s all worked out
Bc sleep is great
And you finna not functioning off of only coffee
You got to work around 2pm
It felt like you were missing something though. You never closed so it’s all weird. Like it just doesn’t feel right.
You didn’t even get your boba...maybe that’s why it felt so weird.
During your break you sat in the break room just pondering, thinking about The boy who worked at the boba place.
Jeno...
It just didn’t feel right not seeing him in the morning.
Not seeing him smile at you when he hands you your drink
His cute smile…
AHHH
you never actually spoke to him though. It’s not like you have a chance with someone who just serves you drinks.
Just doing his job.
“Y/N YOUR BREAK IS OVER,” your coworker said as he walked into the break room, seeing you staring at the wall mindlessly.
“Goddammit y/n you're freaking me out man,” he said, making you grip your chest to calm down from being startled.
“Stop staring at the wall like that,” he said, walking towards you, leaning on the wall you once stared at.
“Sorry Yuta today just doesn’t feel right” you sighed, standing up from your chair, grabbing the notepad that hung out of Yuta's pocket.
“Well if they continue putting us on closing then you have to get used to it” Yuta pat your head, amused by your current state.
“Oh, by the way, your on table 7” Yuta kindly gave you a smile before he started pushing you out of the break room to serve table 7.
You walked out, heading towards table 7 until you realized who was sitting there.
Mrs.Lee and Jeno?
You thought they worked all day….
“H-hello you two” you got to the table, getting their attention,
“Y/N! Sweetie, we thought something bad happened to you! We didn’t see you come in this morning” Mrs.Lee exclaimed, making you smile.
“Oh sorry...I was put on closing shift today so I just started work a few hours ago” you smiled at the two, making Mrs.Lee turn to her son.
“so she does work here, good job Jeno,” she said, making Jeno awkwardly laugh, looking away from you. “Oh, today is my birthday so we closed early to celebrate it. Jeno suggested this place because he told me you work here-“
“Mom!” Jeno interrupted her. “Um I'm sorry y/n you probably have other tables to serve, we’ll tell you our orders,” Jeno said sternly, making you confused as you slowly pulled out your notepad.
“Um okay...what would you two like to order?” They quickly gave you their orders letting you have time to write it all down and collect their menu’s “okay it’ll be right out” you smiled softly before leaving towards the kitchen, hearing a light slap from the table.
The mother slapped her son for disrupting her
Asian parents...
Tsk tsk
“Hey Yuta, it’s the mother’s birthday at table 7. Wanna sing her happy birthday?” You walked back to your coworker who had just finished his break.
Yuta took a peek at the table and smiled at you.
“That mother specifically asked for you to serve them you know,” Yuta said, reading the orders at the serving station to see where to serve the food at.
“W-what?” You turned to him shocked. “yeah, she was like “does y/n work here?” And “my son would like to see her”” Yuta continued, picking up some plates off the table.
You started to feel a light blush upon your cheeks. H-her son wanted to see you.  Lee Jeno. Lee Jeno wanted to see you?
Yuta smiled at you
“I know you like him y/n” Yuta stopped right next to you, whispering in your ear making you almost hit the plates out of his hand. “Fuck off” You snarled, making him laugh before walking out towards the tables.
you brought the food to Jeno’s table a few minutes later.
“thank you y/n,” Mrs.Lee said as you placed her food in front of her.
“enjoy your meal” you smiled, starting to walk away before someone called for you, making you turned back to who called for you.
Which was Jeno
Out of all people
“Hey um, I just wanted to ask if you get out of work any time soon” you heart felt like bursting. You were just squealing to yourself in your head.
“Oh...um I’m closing today so...I don’t get off for a while” you awkwardly smiled, watching as Jeno’s expression slowly disappeared from his cute smile.
“Oh ok um.  Thank you” he nervously put,  Wanting you to get out of there as quickly as possible by how awkward he made it.
But your face was all red so
It helped you hide your embarrassment.
As you walked away to the back, Mrs.Lee looked up at her son
Who now had his completely red face in his hands
“You like her don’t you?” She asked
“That’s why you picked this place to eat at. Correct,” she asked, making Jeno look up from his hands to stare at her.
“Mom-“Jeno started to say before his mother cut him off,
“That’s probably why you always sit in the bench right outside this place when you go on your lunch break”
“MOM!” Jeno softly exclaimed, looking at you serving the people a few tables away.
“You know I do see you sitting there. I was so confused but it all makes sense now” she started to eat, “well I won’t be mad if she became my daughter in law”
By his mother’s voice, Jeno wanted to cry. He did like you.
Like a lot.
But he’s just a guy who serves you bubble tea every morning
What would you see in him...to his knowledge, you probably don’t even know his name.
“Mom please stop” Jeno pleaded, looking over to you talking to that one coworker that would come to their boba restaurant sometimes.
“Anyways she probably has a boyfriend…”Jeno sadly remarked, staring at you, watching your co-worker cup your face with his hands.
His mother looked back at where he was staring and sighed, “You know, your father felt the same way before asking me out to our first date” she tried to get her son’s hopes up,
“come here after closing hours, bring her favorite boba, ask her if she’s off tomorrow and suggest to go on a date” she said, happily smiling knowing that her son is finally taking time to date a girl she actually likes.
“Ahh Yuta I messed up I MESSED UP!” You shouted to your coworker who was currently getting some ingredients from the walk-in freezer.
you had just sped to the back after awkwardly taking to Jeno.
Yuta turned to you, placing all the ingredients from the freezer on the table next to you, concerned for your well-being.
“What happened?” He panicked, noticing your really read face. He quickly brought his hands to your face, trying his best to cool it down with his cold hands
“Your face is all red. God dammit y/n you’re going to kill yourself with heat stroke” your face was burning. “Come on, it’s too hot in here, let’s step out to the tables, it’s not so hot there” Yuta placed his hand on your back as you two stepped out to the waiting station that looked out to where all the customers were sitting.
Yuta placed his hands on your face again, cupping your face so your cheeks could cool down more by his cold hands.
He turned to where Jeno was sitting, watching as he covered his face with his hands, most likely as red as you, “you get flustered so easily” Yuta laughed, moving one of his hands to pet your head.
“Yuta!” You whined, not in the mood for his jokes as tears threatened to leave your eyes.
“Oh no okay okay let’s not get emotional” Yuta panicked, wiping the one tear that left your eye,
“are you on your period or something. You're so emotional. You’re out here looking like a tomato and I’m not fond of working with a tomato. Especially being best friends with one” you took Yuta's hands off of your cheeks and wiped your tears, laughing at his attempt at making you feel better.
“Yuta! Go serve table 2” your manager had yelled,
“Calm down now. We still have to sing happy birthday for his mother. Don’t get all red than now, I can’t have you look like that in front of him” Yuta joked, running off the retrieve the plates of food for table 2.
What would you do without Yuta? He always finds a way to make you feel better…
“Let’s go sing happy birthday to your boyfriend’s mother” Yuta had pulled you to him after you placed an order to the kitchen. Happily prancing, grabbing a slice of cake for you to hold.
But. What was that he said? Boyfriend?!?!
“W-what!” You coughed as you choked on your own saliva, lightly hitting Yuta in the chest after almost dying from what he said.
“H-He’s...not my boyfriend!” you shouted at the boy,
“I THOUGHT YOU DIDNT WANT ME TO GET FLUSTERED!” You continued shouting at him, progressively getting louder as your face began to turn red.
“Shh. Not by anything else. It’s ok when I joke about it though” he smiled, “it makes it funny”
You softly sighed, chucking to yourself,
“this is what I get for having you as my best friend...” you admitted, accepting the faith that you gave yourself.
You two and a couple of coworkers walked towards table 7 to sing happy birthday to Mrs.Lee.
After placing the cake in the table you stood a little behind Yuta to hide a little because you were placed furthest to the right where Jeno was sitting.
“You’re okay, just don’t get too red” Yuta whispered, smiling at Jeno
who was currently staring Yuta down to his soul
(because he thought you and Yuta are dating remember?)
you guys eventually finished the song, ending with you not so red.
.“I hope you have a wonderful birthday Mrs.Lee” you smiled at her,
“Thank you y/n,” Mrs.Lee said, smiling brightly at you before picking up the receipt.  “Thanks, y/n” Jeno spoke, smiling at you with his crescent-shaped smile.
which obviously made you F L U S T E R E D.
“You’re welcome” you smiled warmly towards the both of them before hurrying off to the back.
Jeno stared at you until you disappeared into the back.
He can’t help but smile to see the person he can’t wait to see every day.
It finally hit 11
Which means it was the end of your shift.
the last customer left and you and Yuta were left to clean up and close the restaurant.
You had to finish mopping up the kitchen whilst Yuta sat at one of the tables waiting for you to finish so you both can lock up.
Yuta sat, he was on his phone before he realized there was someone waiting for a few feet outside the restaurant, sitting on the cold bench that sat in front of the building.
Shifting his head, he realized who it was.
The boy who was with his mother today for his birthday.
He was patiently waiting, holding a small plastic bag in his hands.
Yuta smiled, looking back near the kitchen, watching you still have a little more left to go. He quickly got up and silently opened the door, making the younger boy notice him.
“Hey...are you waiting for y/n?” He asked, the boy slowly nodded at his question, making Yuta want to squeal like a teenage girl.
“Come inside!” Yuta motioned for the boy to come inside, noticing he was hesitant, “come inside dude. The doors will lock if I let go” the boy quickly got up and entered the warm building.
MATCHMAKER YUTA’S MISSION IS ALMOST COMPLETE
“I’ll get y/n, wait here”
The boy looked at him, opening his mouth like he wanted to say something.
“H-hey are you and y/n…” the boy began to speak, making the elder stop and look back at him.
“Is me and y/n-?” Yuta began to ask.
“Dating?...”Jeno cut Yuta off, “are you and y/n...dating?” As much as he hated to say it, he just had to ask.
Yuta chuckled, reassuring the younger boy “y/n is my best friend. And to just let you know..”Yuta walked closer to Jeno “you should have seen her all day. You made her so flustered...I thought she was going to die by heatstroke”
Jeno wanted to laugh at Yuta's joke but the feeling of himself getting red by the fact that he made you flustered.
“She really likes you.”Yuta smiled, patting the younger’s shoulder as he noticed his cheeks reddening.
“I’ll go get her now”
Yuta walked to the back, entering the kitchen when you finally finished mopping.
“Hey y/n” Yuta hymned, turning your head to look at him.
“Yes?” you questioned, concerned by the wide smile on the boy’s face. “What’s wrong with you?” You asked, more concerned for your elder as he walked over towards you and grabbed the mop out of your hand.
“I’ll put this away, go out to the tables” Yuta commanded, making you even more confused and very concerned.
“Yu-“ you began to speak before Yuta cut you off, “trust me...go” Yuta basically pushed you out into where the tables were, making you gasp at the sight of the boy who was standing at the table in front of you.
“Hey y/n,” Jeno said nervously, making a smile emerge on your face. “H-hey Jeno…” you calmly said, trying to not blush.
The boy released some anxiety, you actually do know his name. It was like heaven when it slipped out of your mouth.
“What are you doing here?” You asked him, noticing the small plastic bag that was on the table.
“Oh I..I wanted to give this to you,” Jeno reached for the bag and pulled out a closed cup of coffee milk tea, “it felt weird not making it for you this morning…” he admitted, holding it out for you.
you couldn’t help yourself.  YOU BLUSHED VERY HARD. TOO HARD.
“T-thank you Jeno” you desperately held yourself back from squealing as you took the cup out of his hand.
“Oh and...I also wanted to ask if you were off tomorrow...maybe we could hang out or something” Jeno asked, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
DUDE HES ASKING YOU OUT
ITS
A
FUCKING
DREAM
COME
TRUE
Before you could answer Jeno’s offer, a loud “YES SHES OFF. TAKE HER AWAY!” From Yuta emerged from behind you two, making both of you laugh.
You giggled, making Jeno look at you, “Yes I’m off...I’ll love to hang out with you tomorrow” you happily said, staring at his adorable smile that you could never resist.
post #377
main points:
- muffin breakfast
- errands with sheena + pho lunch
- practice GMAT test
- dinner with fam at cheesecake factory
- talk with jonah about GMAT
- catch up on yesterday and today’s blog post
today i:
- woke up around 9am. i felt like i had some kind of dream related to my hemorrhoids. or like my lower side cramping. then i fell back asleep until my alarm at 10:30am. then i snoozed for a bit and then just stopped snoozing and passed out LOL. woke up around 11:30am. i guess i must’ve been tired from swimming yesterday
- i went downstairs and ate another banana nut muffin and milk for breakfast. then sheena was awake and my mom asked if we wanted to get brunch at IHOP. i said i already ate breakfast and sheena wasn’t feeling IHOP. then i went to poop and sheena suggested pho. mom decided to start making breakfast so she was like nah. dad said he already ate too. so sheena and i decided to get pho for lunch. we left the house around 12:30pm. we first stopped by sheena’s color place where she went with ben on her birthday to pick up the finished clay things. then we stopped by wegman’s to get milk and bread. then we drove to the pho place, getting there around 2pm
- we ate some pho and finished by like 2:40~2:50pm. we talked a bit about what sheena wanted to potentially major in and she said she still wasn’t sure. maybe acting or business. or psychology. we talked about potential schools she was interested in like NYU and emerson. after we finished eating we walked over and got some boba for sheena and then we drove back home
- we got home around 3pm and i started taking a practice GMAT manhattan test at 3:15pm. i decided to take it and ask jonah which one was the best one to take and he recommended manhattan. i took the essay, integrated reasoning, then quant and then verbal for 3 hours until 6:15pm. i feel like the integrated reasoning was kind of tricky. i was stuck on one question for like 15 minutes. i wasn’t sure how to answer it and kept going back and forth. i barely got through a third of the questions in that section. the quant section wasn’t too bad but it felt like i was trying to remember a bunch of stuff from high school and middle school. like geometry and algebra. the verbal section was what i ended up scoring the highest on, probably practice from the SATs transferred a bit. i finished with a 550. i felt like it was kinda bad but i told dad and he said that’s not too bad considering i haven’t touched any of these topics in so long
sheena was working on homework while i was taking the practice exam. once i finished, she said she was also ready to go eat dinner
- the whole fam drove to cheesecake factory and we got there around 7pm. we were able to be seated right away. it was a sunday night and so fking cold outside. it was 13 degrees but feels like 3 degrees :upside-down-smile:
i ordered a chicken shrimp pineapple rice thing. it was aight, like sweet and sour. dad got a burger, mom got some poke and sheena got four cheese pasta. mom told us about the triple 4′s she saw in an article by a journalist reporting about the top high school in california. 4 hours of sleep, 4 cups of coffee and 4.0 gpa loooool
- we drove home and then got back around 9pm. i called jonah for a bit from 9:20pm-9:50pm. he was just starting to eat dinner but i asked him about tips for the GMAT and what resources to look into. also cause i realistically only have about two weeks to do some in depth prep before i start traveling. he said it took him about 4-6 weeks of diligent studying, but in two weeks i could start reviewing a bunch of the topics. we also caught up a bit about how things are going. he was watching the championship game between patriots and chiefs. i also mentioned sheena’s potential interest in majoring business
- i watched some youtube, seeing john oliver’s season 6 trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdDBi0DheMw&bpctr=1548041078
took a shower and now i’m chilling in bed writing yesterday’s blog post and today’s blog posts. it is now exactly 12am :o
- i’m gonna call the doctor tomorrow about hemorrhoids. cause ever since i started applying the medication i feel like it’s made it worse, not better. like i’ve been getting abdomen cramping sensations, small stool/mild constipation. i might have to go to a specialist to do the rubber band ligation procedure... i guess we’ll see
i’m probably just gonna chill in bed watching youtube or something. i’ll update this if anything happens buuuut good night. also i might be sick again...? i feel a really really mild throat pain. i’m drinking more hot water to try to stop it LOL
the end
BNHA self insert AU [Book 2]
Lost and confused? Read this post to catch you up!
Chapter 8: Bitch I Hope the Fuck You Do!
I wish I could tell you that I got the courage to tell the class rep that I don’t like him. But it’s the next day and I’m feeling like pussy ass bitch. So I’m doin’ what I do best....call my mommy.
“Hello? Lili? Can you hear me?”
“I can hear and see you very clearly” I said as the video call got extra crisp in quality “did you update the camera?”
“No, we bought a new television” my mom laughed “your dad and his friends trashed the living room when I was away on Friday. Oh you should have seen them when I came home a day early!”
I laughed but I remembered why I called “Mom, can I ask you something?”
“What is it mija?”
“When you were in high school, how did you figure it out?” I slumped a bit “the whole dating stuff and holding back feelings?”
“Well, first off, I started dating in middle school. The dating culture is different where I grew up than here.” she sighed and put her coffee cup down “there’s a sort of pressure to date and find your partner, especially for girls with telekinesis. These poor girls are cursed with short life spans, but if you find the right person, they live longer lives. I was with somebody before I came over here and I thought they were my one and only, like I was ready to marry him and live my short life with him.” Her smile disappeared “but when I was on my own here, I thought I was going to die early anyways. Then I met your dad, which I saw as somebody that felt the need to be like my parent-friend. I hid my feelings from him because I wasn’t going to ruin my one friendship I had in the hero world” she picked her cup up again “so I dated Hoshi’s dad, had something purely physical with Mr. Tokoyami, casually had a fling with Mr. Monoma, and had a long term relationship with Mr Hitoshi. All before admitting my feelings to your dad in my twenties, it felt different when we started dating. It was like I just took one step up from our friendship, being around him felt natural and I could be myself. My one regret was not telling him sooner, imagine all the heartbreak I could’ve avoided if I just stopped overthinking things.”
“You didn’t know either?” I pondered “then is it okay to not like somebody after one date?”
“Of course it is! That’s why we have dates” Mom chuckled “It gives you a chance to see their personality and behavior to see if you click.”
I take a deep breath “Okay because I went on a date yesterday and-”
Mom spit out her coffee and choke a bit “YOU WHAT?!” her eyes widened and teared up “TENYA! OUR BABY IS GROWING UP!”
Dad ran into frame “What? What happened Lili?!”
“Oh jeez- I just said I went on a date yesterday and-”
My dad gasped and instantly started crying “My little girl is growing up!” he sniffled “I wasn’t one to be brave enough to ask your mom on a date at your age! But here you are, being honest with your feelings.”
“Um, actually, that’s why I called” I explain the disaster that was yesterday “...and I don’t know how to let him down easy.”
“Oh just do what I did, show dominance and tell him that he deserves better” Mom said casually “that way they don’t try to win you over with the next person you’re with.”
“I mean, that is what you did BUT” Dad followed up “just be honest and don’t delay in telling him! The longer you wait, the longer you leave them assuming the wrong thing.”
“Okay! I think I got it” I took mental note of their advice “I’m gonna go now, thanks for answering me! Bye Bye!”
“Bye Bye Lili! We love you!”
I click off the video call feeling better about my situation. And like the anti-social, dense dumbass I am, I didn’t tell him out of cowardliness. I kept him arms distance and smiled at the things he’d show me.
-2 weeks later-
“What’s for lunch today Lili?” Hoshi asked as everyone scattered to the cafeteria.
“Hot cheetos, cold pizza and an unpeeled apple” I said as I opened my lunch bag “I miss my mommy making my lunches” I slumped on the stone table “at least she’d cut up my fruits.”
“Need someone to cut your fruit?” said the class rep that seemingly pop up out of nowhere “didn’t mean to startle you Iida-san! But I can cut that apple for you if you’d like.”
“Um sure” I said as I handed him the apple “thanks!”
“It’s no problem, anything for you” he blushed as he said that “it’s a free admission day tomorrow at the hero museum, and I was hoping to take you.”
“That sounds cool but um” I look at my open bag of cheetos “I have to meet with support management tomorrow!”
“Huh? You do?” Hoshi questioned as he grabbed a cheeto from me “who you meeting?”
“Yea! I’m meeting with that one student with the hair and the” I make the gesture of big boobs “they said they can prototype the support item I’ve been thinking about.”
“Oh! I didn’t know you were designing a support item” the class rep said as he finished peeling and cutting the apple “maybe next time we can do something, I’ve been wanting to spend some time with you.”
“Yup! Next time!” I flash my smile as he hands me the finished apple “thanks for cutting this for me.”
He turned completely red and flustered “Yeah! Um y-you enjoy your lunch and I’ll see you later!” he turned around and scurried away.
Hoshi was getting suspicious “Lili what the fuck was that?! I thought you didn’t like him?”
“I don’t like him, you right” I said as I munched on an apple slice, Hoshi narrowing his eyes at me “I just, you know, not told him that yet.”
Hoshi put his face in his hands and groaned “Oh my god Lili! Didn’t you talk to your parents about this?”
“I did! And I’m a coward!” I groaned in response “Like, I don’t want him to hate me or think I’m some sort of bratty, rich girl that thinks he isn’t privileged to be around me!” I softly slam my face on my lunch bag “I just think he’s so bland and stereotypically hero-in-training.”
“If you don’t tell him by Sunday, I’m going to make you confront him!” Hoshi slammed his hands on the table “seriously Lili! It’s cruel that you’re leading him on like this.”
I sigh “I know, and I hate myself for being such a coward.”
-After School the same day-
“Hey Iida-san! Can we walk to the dorms together?” the class rep asked excitedly as I was putting on my shoes.
“Ummm-”
“She’d love too!” Hoshi said slapping my back “have fun Lili! See you later!” Hoshi flashed me a look, threatening me to tell what I need to say.
I flash my smile “Well he answered for me!”
“Great! Lets get going!” he said as we walked toward the dorms. He started to talk about one of the books he bought the other day and I wasn’t paying attention, I was too distracted by my thoughts. I felt the warmth on his hand holding mine, uh oh he’s getting bold! “You know Iida-san, I’m glad you gave me a chance. I thought maybe I was too beneath you to have a chance! But you’re so nice and your smile has me flustered” he squeezed my hand “so I was wondering if I could call you my baby.”
“Oh ummm” all the jazz music stopped in my brain, this is bad!
“Was that too much?! Sorry! Um, how about lets start with first names?” he was hasty to fix himself “Can I call you Lili? Or do you prefer Perla?”
“Um actually I-”
“Oh what the hell is all this?!” yelled Maru as he stomped in our direction “hands off my Lili!”
“Hey! Don’t talk to me like that” barked the class rep back “can’t you see I’m with my girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend?! You don’t have what we have” Maru was getting defensive “I’ve known her since she was born! She’s my girl, we shared a kiss.”
My head was hurting with everything unfolding before me, I’ve had enough! “I’M NOT YOUR GIRLFRIEND!” I yelled as I pulled my hand away, then turned to Maru “AND I’M NOT YOUR GIRL! I DON’T LIKE YOU EITHER!” and then everything went dark. I opened my eyes and I was looking up at the commons room ceiling, was it all just a bad dream? I sat up to see sensei, Hoshi, some of the girls and the class rep gathered around me...Oh boy.
“Sensei, she’s up” said the class rep “lay back down, you passed out on the street pretty bad.”
“Yea, that stupid second year friend of yours really tried it this time!” Hoshi said with a scowl “I was about to beat his ass on your behalf!”
“No need, I let his dad know what happened” sensei said then turned to me “as for you, I also let your parents know. Mom said to bed rest and if you feel worse at any point to call her.”
“Thank you” I said weakly as I lay my head back down.
“Lets leave her be guys” Hoshi said to get just me and the class rep alone in the commons room “Hashima-kun, I trust you’ll help her?”
“Yes I will!” the class rep responded “I got it from here sensei.”
I watch everyone part ways to their rooms and I felt at my lowest. “Hey, um, about earlier, I-”
“It’s okay, I understand it was a high stress situation and you didn’t mean what you said” caressed my face “you scared me when you just fell out of nowhere, but you’re safe now my delicate flower.”
Oh gag I hate that! “I can’t hold back anymore” I sighed and lifted his hand off my face “Listen, you’re a decent guy and very courteous, but” I looked straight into his eyes, to assert dominance “I don’t feel the same, we just don’t click.”
“What do you mean? You’ve been nothing but smiles and attentive with me these past weeks.”
“We’re too different and to be honest, I don’t like hero stuff like you do. I like flavorful food and I abhor boba! Like why the fuck do you want to eat and drink at the same time?!” I started to come around to my usual self “And Deku is my least favorite hero THERE I SAID IT! Mans looks like a broccoli under the mask! And I get you want to be a great hero and you study hero history, but you showing me your collection and favorite bookstore, it makes me feel like I’m not smart enough or I’m not doing enough to be a hero.”
“That’s not true Iida-san! You’re powerful and nimble, way better than me!”
“But it’s true, plus I just lack the social skills to be a decent girlfriend” I put my hand on his hand “you deserve somebody that won’t lead you on like I did, I’m sorry.”
He had a hurt expression on his face “I won’t force you to stay with me, I understand” he slipped his hand out from under mine slowly “it’s because of Togata-kun isn’t it?”
“What?” I was confused and wasn’t expecting him to mention Hoshi.
“You like Togata-kun, you’re always with him and first name them” he explained “your dorms are connected with a rope ladder and your parents treat him like he’s part of the family. He’s special to you.”
“He’s my friend, thats all” I denied any assumptions “yes he’s special to me but it’s not romantic.”
“You say that now but you two are the definition of chemistry” he said standing up “I can only hope to have what you two have.”
He walks to his dorm and I just try to sort myself out on that couch. Bet mom didn’t have it this bad when she had to break it to someone. I peel myself off the couch and make my way to my room to get on with the rest of my day.
-The next day, after school-
“So you’re telling me that your mom and friends just ran off on their wacky adventures?!” Hoshi said in awe as I told him of all my mom’s misadventures in High School “wish we had the same liberties! And fast travel quirks, imagine if we could just think of a place and suddenly be there?!”
“Hahaha my mom’s quirk doesn’t work like that” I laughed at their statement “though I don’t know how they did it! How they just did all that traveling without quirks.”
We were taking our time walking to the dorms, originally we were thinking about going to downtown but we’re honestly too tired to do all that walking! Downtown isn’t too far from the dorms or school, not really worth taking public transport. I envy my little brother Oro for being blessed with the teleportation quirk! Little punk doesn’t even use it! He just walks or bikes everywhere, just to spite us! As Hoshi and I turn to our dorm building, we got stopped by the intel trio we saw when we moved in.
“Yoohoo! Royal children!”
“We said not to call us that” Hoshi responded as they approached.
“Sorry! Um we just wanted to invite you two to our kickback” said the small one “it’s this Saturday in the 1st year’s dorms, doors open at 7pm.”
“Oh?! We’ll be there!” I excitedly spoke for the both of us.
“COOL! See you two then!” said the tall one as they turned back to their dorm.
We waved them off before entering our dorms “I can’t believe it?! We’re cool enough to go to an intel party!”
“I KNOW RIGHT?!” I couldn’t control myself “I’m going to dress up really casual!”
Hoshi gasped “I can wear that tank top with hawaiian shirt outfit I’ve been wanting to flex!”
“Oh my gosh! Your himbo outfit?!” I gasp in response “now I really can’t wait!”
I run off to tell my mommy that I got invited. She tells me that they have rules for all their guests to follow, if I don’t follow them, I’ll get kicked out. She also warns me to not drink too much since it’ll be mine and Hoshi’s first time drinking. My mom didn’t drink too much around us growing up, so I don’t know how bad things get if one drinks too much.
-Night of the kickback-
“Oh crap, I forgot how the hell are we going to sneak over there!” I exclaimed as I was in Hoshi’s room, fixing his outfit a bit.
“Dang that would be an important thing to plan out” he pondered “Hashima-kun does a sweep of the dorms to make sure we’re in our rooms in like 5 minutes.”
“A thought, we say we’re turning in early for the night when he does his sweep” I explain “then I jump in your balcony, you phase us into the ground, we land swim all the way to the inside of their dorm building.”
“Lili, that has to be the craziest thing you’ve ever said to me” he puts his hands on my shoulders “I’m in! Let’s get in our places!”
I nod and I get back into my room, do my part when the class rep does his courtesy knock. When I jump back onto Hoshi’s room, he could hardly keep his giggles in! I get on his back and we go onto the balcony rail.
“This might be a little scary, close your eyes” Hoshi said as he gets ready to jump “I’ll do the land swimming, so just hold on to me.”
I do as he asked of me and I feel the whoosh of us falling and phasing into the ground. It feels a little weird being permeable, like this isn’t my first time being affected by his quirk but in those short bursts of exposure, it feels like you aren’t real! Like you’re a figment of someone’s imagination or a character in somebody’s story. Suddenly, I feel the pop of becoming solid again, I open my eyes as we’re mid-air in the other dorm.
“Oof I’m still not used to that” I said as we fell on our asses.
Hoshi helps me up “Well, at least we made it here!” he smiles “I don’t think anybody saw us sneak out, we’re in the clear!”
We go up the stairs and get greeted by the bouncer, it was the tall one of the trio and they lets us in right away. The others greeted us with excitement and were excellent hosts. It would’ve been amazing...if I didn’t get so drunk so fast. Hoshi was just as trashed as I was, luckily the others took care of us by giving us plenty of water and food. They put us in their extra room to lay down for a bit to sober up. I look over at their digital clock, it was almost 10pm!
“Ugh, I feel like I’ve literally gone crazy ah gone stupid ah!” I groaned on the futon “at least you’re here with me.”
“Lili, you’re like the best!” Hoshi slurred as he reached over to put his hand on my face “you’re pretty and smart, HEY! if I -hic- if I chopped off my titties, would I be hot?”
I thought about it “Hmm, it would help bring the natural muscle build you have under the titties” I poke his chest “I don’t think I’ve ever seen your titties without the binder. Either way, you’re one of the boys to me!”
“Oh dang, I like that answer” he said as he flips onto his back to look up at the ceiling with me “I’ve been thinking about getting top surgery once I get the funds when we graduate.”
“Man, that’s like forever from now” I responded “would you still be my friend after?”
“I’d be your friend no matter what Lili” Hoshi let out a burp “pardon me, but yea, even if we have to work in different cities or you somehow become a famous dancer and have to travel abroad” he turns his head to face me “I’d still be your friend. Would you still be my friend if that comes true?”
“I’d miss you like crazy but I’d still be your friend” I smiled at him “you’re my only true friend Hoshi, out of all the people I’ve met and grew up with, I don’t hate you at all.”
Hoshi starts to tear up “Wow, I feel so loved” he brings me in for a hug “you’re my only friend and GOD am I going to cherish you for the rest of my life!”
I snuggle into his embrace “I love that for us” I look up to his face “you’re comfy to snuggle with, I could drift off to sleep right here.”
“I’ve never been the big spoon before” he put his hand on my lower back and another on the back of my head “we can cuddle all we want, as long as I get to be big spoon! Because it feels nice.”
“Deal!” I laugh as I lay my head on his chest. And I guess we did fall asleep there because I woke up in the same position. I rub my eyes and squint at the digital clock, it’s 7:22am! “Crap! Hoshi, Hoshi! Wake the frick up!”
“Huh? 5 more minutes Gimi-kun” Hoshi groaned sleepily as he rolled over onto his side “I’ll just drink some coffee today before class.”
“What? No wake up Hoshi!” I said slapping his chest to get off me, his body was crushing me.
He was now fully awake and jumped off me “Sorry! sorry!” he looked around him and panicked “oh no, Lili how the hell are we going to get back to the dorms?! Hashima-kun is going to do his rounds at 8!”
I was thinking at full speed “I can’t think of anything that’ll get us back without getting caught!” I sigh “I guess we gotta take this L and accept punishment.”
“Well, for what it’s worth” he put his hand on my head “it was a fun first time drinking with you. Even if we passed out early.”
I laughed “It sure was” I stood up and my head started to hurt “oof, I think I’m starting to feel that hangover.” We walk out of the room quietly to see all of the intel class up and getting breakfast going.
“Oh shit you didn’t leave in the middle of the night?” said one of the students sitting at the table “I swear I heard you two scurry off at like 3am.”
“No that was the other two that came together and cried on the balcony” spoke up the girl sitting on the counter “these two are the royal children in the hero class” she faces us “anyways, need some help sneaking back to your dorms?”
“Um yes actually!” I winced “our class rep does door to door check in knocks at 8, if we could some how get to our balconies and pretend we didn’t just come back from this.”
“OOH OOH! Is it time to mirage?!” excitedly piped up one of the boys as he jumped.
“Yes, it’s mirage time Mitsuki” responded the girl on the counter “We split into two teams, distraction team and launch team. 3 of us are going to this side lawn and cause a scene, the launch team is going to take you two to the watch tower where I’ll shrink you small enough for Sube-chan here to carry you to your balconies.”
Hoshi raises his hand “Question, can’t you just do that without causing the distraction?”
“Yea but where’s the fun in that?” said the very petite girl as she jumped out of her chair “it’s go time team! WHOO!”
“WHOO WHOO!” chanted everyone as they scurried to their places.
“Come with us!” said the petite girl as counter girl picked her up on her shoulders “to the watch tower my trusty steed! HIYA!”
We follow them to a set of spiraling, iron stairs that seem to go on forever! “How much longer?” I panted
“Just 3 more floors to go!” responded counter girl like it was no big deal “finally, an excuse to use the tower!”
Hoshi and I looked at each other with fear in our eyes, my mom wasn’t kidding when she said intel students were on another level. I will never understand how this whole thing worked because once we got to the top, we looked down to see the distraction team and they miraged a jaguar fight. Then we got shrunk down for the petite girl to carry us on her parakeet form. Apparently she can transform into small birds and the counter girl can shrink or enlarge anything temporarily. It was scary to get fast transported to our balconies, then the pop of suddenly growing back to your normal size! Not good if you’re hungover. But it all worked out! The mirage team showed themselves and chortled the hero dorms for getting scared, the two girls in the tower signaled that they transported us safely and they all returned to their dorms. Things resumed on our side like normal, Hoshi and I start laughing when I gave them a look over some coffee.
-Monday, Lunchtime-
We were at our usual lunch spot when a little birdy came to our table.
“Aw look how cute the little pajarito!” I said as I held out a strawberry “pspspsps, queres fresita pajarito?!”
Suddenly the bird turned into the petite girl from the intel dorms “Don’t mind if I do!” she ate the strawberry out of my hand.
Hoshi and I freaked out “I knew it was weird that a bird with school uniform colors would so happen to land at our table!” Hoshi exclaimed.
“Sorry about that heehee” they wiped their mouth “I wanted to relay a message from our aspiring trio! They want to exchange numbers for fast communication, I don’t do my message carrier service for free!” she takes a sticky note out of her shirt pocket “here they are! OH! and write your numbers in on the back here with your names.”
We copy the numbers and gave our numbers to relay back. I learned that the petite girl’s name is Robin Sube...she took my strawberries as she flew off. Minutes later we got texts from the three people that invited us. It was so cool that I was making friends with students outside my program! Wonder what they may need to us for, aside from parties?
-Saturday evening, the dorms-
I was sitting in my room, working on a piece I saw on the ICONIQUE feature page, when I heard yelling coming from downstairs. The boy’s section was getting rowdy I thought until I heard Hoshi yelling ‘Stop’, then my big sister senses kicked in. I climbed down the rope ladder and onto the balcony.
“Hoshi?” I said as I knocked on the sliding door “are you okay? I heard you yelling and thought I’d check up on you.” I heard the whispers of two other boys then a slam of the door. I opened the door and parted the curtains to see Hoshi’s room trashed and Hoshi trembling, face down on the floor near his bed “HOSHI!?”
As I picked him up, I saw that his shirt was ripped open along with his binder torn and stretched “Lili, I-” Hoshi couldn’t talk, he just started crying and slumped onto me. I didn’t need him to explain, this was clearly a hate crime. Somebody found out and lashed out. That angered me to the point of breaking. I didn’t want eye for an eye, I wanted BLOOD!
“Shhh, shhh, I’m here” I held him close and saw how badly those people hurt him, I put his blanket around him “can you stand up?” He nodded and stood up “good, can you climb up the ladder to my room?” he climbed up to my room and I followed after. I destroyed the rope ladder and saw Hoshi fully breaking down on my bed, trembling with heaving sobs. But what am I to do? I can’t leave Hoshi here alone as I go get my reinforcements, who to call? THAT’S IT! The intel trio!
I pulled up one of their numbers and dialed it, standing on my balcony.
“Hello?”
“Oh good! You answered!” I said relieved “listen, I know we don’t know each other very well but I need help.”
“Oh! yes of course my team and I can help!” the guy on the other side was now on high alert “how can we help!”
“Not going to sugarcoat this but somebody attacked my friend, LeMillion’s son” I try to keep it together “he’s in my room right now because they trashed his room and I really need to tell my sensei about this but I don’t want to leave my friend alone.”
“Say no more, you need us to protect him from further harm?”
“Yes! Will you do it?” I asked with hopefulness “I can offer anything but homework help.”
“I’m gathering the whole squad, we’ll be at your balcony in one minute!” he said as the background noise got hectic “hang tight!” then he hangs up. On the dot, a group of 5 people came zip-lining in.
“Man! I always wanted to use that!” said the tall one “okay, we’re here! Brought the ground team” then he pointed to the watch tower “got eye in the sky team on high alert for any runners. We got your backs!”
“Thanks! Please come in” I let them in my room “Okay, so he’s banged up and they ripped his shirt open-”
“No! Please don’t tell me he got targeted by transphobes!” snarled counter girl “the NERVE of some people!”
“Wait, you know he’s-”
“He told us at the kickback” said the skinny one “we’re super accepting of him” he kneeled at my bed and put his hand on Hoshi’s back “hey, it’s okay, we won’t let anybody hurt you. You’re valid.”
Hoshi wiped his tears “Thank you... all of you” he smiled “I’ve never felt so loved and accepted by anyone, I trust you.”
“I’m going to get sensei” I go to my door “stay here, I’ll be back.”
I close the door and make the dash to sensei’s quarter’s, if they really thought things through, they’d be expecting me. Am I scared, yes. In all my life, I never had to fight like this but my mom told me what to do in such situations. If they worked for her, I trust they’ll work for me. I thought I was in the clear once I was in the hallway leading to the commons room, but two people greeted me once I entered the space.
“I don’t think so!” said on the boys “we’ve been waiting for you!”
I couldn’t believe my eyes “You’re in my class!” I pointed to the other person “and you’re in Maru’s class! Why did you hurt him?!”
“Don’t you mean IT?!” hatefully spat the 2nd year “that’s not a real boy! Things like him shouldn’t live among us!”
“Yea! Don’t tell me you’re one of those bleeding heart social justice warriors!” chortled my classmate “a fine girl like you shouldn’t mingle with those...things!”
“HE’S my friend! You are monsters! Villains even!” I barked back “I don’t need to be social justice warrior or hero to know that he’s happy like this and should be treated with respect!”
“What are you going to do? It’s two against one” snickered my classmate as they got into fighting stance “try to dance yourself out of this one!”
Both of them lunged at me and I dodged them both. With some quick thinking, I bound the second year to the curtains. My classmate had a speed quirk and it was extremely hard to land anything on him. He threw me around like a rag doll, mocked me but I wasn’t ready to tap out. After a while he had me pinned to the ground, both of his feet on my hands.
“Stop! You’re crushing my hands!” I growled as I tried to free my hands.
He put more pressure on my hands “Sorry Princess Ballerina, but I can’t have you tainting my image” he put his hand on my head “hold still, it’ll all be over soon.”
I braced myself for a direct hit when I heard a bird chirping “Sube-chan? PSPSPSPS pajarito!” I called out, hoping it was really her.
“Huh?” said the classmate before I heard the thud of punches being thrown. I felt his feet lift off of my hands and I got up to see Sube wailing down on my classmate.
“GO! I got it from here!” cried out Sube pinning down my classmate.
I gave them a nod as I ran to sensei’s quarters, I pounded on his door “Sensei?! sensei! Please open the door!”
“What do- OH MY GOD what happened to you?!” sensei was in shock “this is bad! Tell me everything you know!”
I gave him the short of it “...Hoshi is in just a bad of condition, what are you going to do?”
“As much as I hate to say it” sensei sighed “call your mommy, this is her realm. I’ll call the principal, Midnight and nurse Eri to examine you two.”
I made the call and she portaled in the moment I said Hoshi got attacked. She threw down the law on the two culprits, the police got involved too. I didn’t leave Hoshi’s side through this whole process and I didn’t let anybody get too close to him who wasn’t my mom, the police or a school staff. The intel class was excused to go back to their dorms after giving their eye witness accounts. The two culprits were taken into custody by police, by then it was very late into the night.
“Lili, may I come in?” my mom asked gently as she stood in front of the entrance of my room.
“Come in” I lowered my guard.
Mom sighed at the sight of us “So everything is under investigation and being taken cared of” she sat at the foot of my bed “if you two want, I can take you two to the house for 3 days. Just until things are finalized, the school is allowing it.”
“Please, I don’t think I can lay in my dorm room in peace” Hoshi pleaded, eyes tired of crying “I need to escape this environment.”
“I’ll get your clothes and essentials” mom assured him “I’ll get Midnight in here to escort you two to the commons room so I can portal us home.”
She gets Hoshi’s things and we wait for her in the commons room. Hoshi grabbed my hand, like a child holding on to their mother’s hand so they don’t get separated. I squeezed my hand in response. Mom didn’t take long to bring out his things, she summoned a portal that lead right inside the house. My dad was waiting on the couch and got up when we stepped in. He ran up to us and hugged us, he saw the bruises on our bodies and my bandaged hands and just broke down.
“Who would hurt you two so badly?!” he sobbed “you’re just children that did nothing wrong!” he put my hands in his “did you fight Lili? I wont get mad.” I nodded and teared up “it’s okay, you were brave enough to stand up to what’s right and you won. My sweet daughter, you’re a better person than I was when I was your age.”
We washed up and got ready for bed. I climbed into the guest room bed with Hoshi because I didn’t want to leave him alone. He let me lay on his chest, he didn’t have his binder on, so I felt the lumps of his breasts on the side of my head. I felt like we broke through another layer of friendship, he will always be one of the boys in my heart and eyes.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen...
“I can’t believe this happened! Imagine if Lili didn’t call those intel kids!”
“Don’t say that Tenya, I don’t want to imagine it.”
“I’m sorry! But -sigh- now what?”
“Now we wait, they’re safe here until then. Nobody is going to separate me from my children.”
“You’re a good mother, I love you and your efforts to keep our family together.”
“Do you think they think I’m a good mother too?”
“I know they do, she wouldn’t trust you with her friend’s secret if she didn’t.”
“True...lets go to bed, they should be asleep by now.”
may: week one
01: it was an interesting morning. i worked out in the yoga studio today because hillary and daniel were sleeping in the living area. i finished my hip hop cardio and when i started my hiit workout, a lady came in to spin and she just watched me suffer LOL. i made it though! then i showered and started my work day. i just needed to mentally prepare myself and write some notes to prepare myself for my customer call. phil was not going to be on it so i was pretty much solo. i think i did alright though. hillary and daniel packed and left before my call and then later, hillary told me that they missed their flight because spirit moved up the flight time and they had to catch tomorrow’s -__-” wtf spirit? i started doing laundry so it’s a good thing i didn’t wash their towels yet! i did start washing the bedsheets and pillowcases though. meh. haha. i think they can sleep with the sofa pillows and without the sheet for one night, right? x__x;
my day was very chill and when they came back, daniel and hillary took my car to fat cat and i got on my standup. they left me some cajun fries, which were sooo delicious. i snacked and talked to hillary while daniel fell asleep on the couch. hillary eventually fell asleep and then i went back to work. kevin came back and then we talked a bit before daniel and hillary woke up. daniel took like a 3 hour nap. damn. bae and i went to the yoga studio and she did cardio kickboxing with me. right after the workout, she downed a ton of water O_O” haha. kevin was cooking oyakodon at this time while daniel was watching dota streams in the apartment. we came back, ate, chatted, and then hillary and daniel did dishes while me and kevin went back on our computers. he gamed and i did a bit of work before showering, making the bed together, and me sleeping at around 11 pm. zzzzz. it was a nice chill day with the bae and phanpy :)))
02: i took it “easy” and did very little jumping during my morning exercise. then i washed up, ate breakfast, and said good bye to hillary and daniel! :) they were awake but still a little sleepy haha. i sat at john’s desk for the morning and was anxious to see when he would come in and felt a tad bit bad that he had to sit at my desk for a bit. i happened to be in a call when he came in and needed to talk to steve. x__X; we went to tenoch and i got a pollo torta. it was better than last time so i think tenoch is a bit better than i had initially thought. steve and haowei really liked it. i was very productive today and cole helped me set up actions in photoshop to fix something very tedious that i had to do. it was luls seeing him use photoshop though. i finished all of my work at around 4:40 pm and then took it easy until 5 pm. i walked to cvs with cole on the way to south station and i introduced him to all-dressed ruffles! apparently, they are a flavor in the east coast that’s here to stay ahha. he really liked them. boo yah!
i took the train home and then ate fruit and decided to gorge myself on snyder’s honey mustard pretzel pieces T_T it was a terrible choice because i ended up with a stomach ache and it was a bit harder to do my ab workout. i showered and then i made dinner. kevin came back, i played some bravely default and finished the episode of reign i watched while daniel and hillary were here, he cooked some veggies, and then we ate dinner without watching tv. it’s been an eventful weekend and start of the week so we needed to reset a bit. it was a fun weekend though with bae and phanpy <3 kevin gamed and i went to sleep at around 11:30 pm. i wasn’t sure if i was going to work from home -- my heart rate has increased these past few days so i might be a bit sick or getting sick? or maybe i’m stressed? i think the true cause is that i’ve been working out a bit too much with not enough rest. so it’s a toss up of whether or not i’m gonna feel up to it in the morning.
03: it was such a nice morning T_T the weather seemed great outside but my body was super sore and my stomach was not feeling too hot. i decided to work from home. i also skipped on my morning workout because everything was sore basically. i’m taking it sort of easy today in terms of working out. i started my morning by watching the latest episode of jane the virgin and then woke up kevin. then he left for work and i did some work~ i spent the day moving around and splitting my 30 minute workout that i was supposed to have in the morning, into 15 minute sessions. it was a pretty chill day again because i’m kind of in between projects but a lot of new things are gonna happen for me in design mainly so i’m excited about that. i did a 25 minute dance routine to keep my exercise pretty light today and then showered and made rice and defrosted shrimp. when kevin came back from work, we went outside to chill in the courtyard. i played bravely default and he read a book on his kindle. it got chilly so we went back inside after finishing the grapes we brought out with us.
then we chilled some more and kevin started cooking. i grinded so hard today. i’m now level 84 and i bought the golden egg and golden whatever it was so i get more job points and exp. we ate dinner while watching some gordon ramsey videos and then we basically wrestled for a bit because he said i made too little rice and was complaining about it and i said he eats too much and then he said i was trying to starve him LOLOL. i got real worked up and then calmed down, gamed, got ready for bed, and went to sleep at around 11 pm. zzzz.
04: i woke up pretty tired today but i did my workout and i wasn’t exhausted from it like i usually am? woot for progress! the video that i followed was one of the ones i had to pause at 3 sets and then continue with the last one, but now i can do it all in one go! after that, i showered, ate cereal and toast and then went on my way to work. i felt pretty dead though so i don’t know if it’s still because i’m not resting? or if it’s something else??? i haven’t been sleeping well again... even though i’m sleeping earlier, waking up earlier, exercising earlier, etc. @_@; it might be kevin’s gaming that’s disturbing my sleep now or maybe i should stop going on my phone right before bed...ahhh, i don’t know -- i’ll test it out. sigh. i thought this was going to be better; i mean, it is in a way but i want this to help balance my life out.
the day was pretty busy and i got a headache because of the new project i’m working on. i forgot how tedious it is to sort through a bunch of unorganized data... well, kind of organized but not organized on a super clean level. i had a bunch of mini chats with mathew about both of our projects -- we helped each other out. i took a walk after eating lunch and then went back to work. cole had to vent a bit so when he was done with his last meeting of the day, we headed to starbucks and he vented and got a venti chai, which he demolished even before we got back to the office o_o he also kindly got me the honey chocolate that’s in starbucks right now. i’m so glad i have a friend like cole :D we finished up the bit of work we had and then headed to south station and took our trains home. i snacked a bit and then did my workout. i also prepped ingredients for dinner and then kevin messaged me saying that he didn’t know his belay class would be so long. so he got back late and i just ate bread for “dinner.” i ended up eating the stir fried noodles anyway but not as late because i wanted to see if that was bothering my sleep. i slept at around 12 am because i was going to wfh tomorrow and i just gamed before sleeping.
05: i was very all over the place today. i managed to do my hiit workout in the morning and then work on my new project the entire day. i took a lot of breaks though to move around, game, and also read! i got my botm in the mail and just started reading it like crazy. now i have a game and a book to read :) my stomach was also just all over the place because i kept feeling nauseous and then gassy and then hungry and the cycle kept repeating. merp i don’t know what’s wrong?! i need to get more fruit for the upcoming week though haha. kevin got back home and we just cuddled and rested after a long week of work. then i did a new 30 minute work out and found out during the workout that one move just hurts my hip like crazy. i don’t know if i like this new video. then i showered while kevin cooked and we had a pretty late dinner while watching supernatural. the characters in supernatural are pissing me off now. @_@; we did a good amount of reading and then gamed for the rest of the night.
06: we got out of bed around 11 am and then i went straight to kickboxing. i was sore from yesterday so i didn’t do my best at it but still got it done ;) then we ate breakfast and chilled for a bit until it was time to get our massages! i got a great deep tissue massage focusing on my legs and then a bit on my back. then we went into the steam room for the first time to try it out! it was basically a shower room with a steam system built in and it was super foggy when we got in. o__o; the temperature rose from 80 to 105 before we rq’d. after getting out of there, we felt so relaxed and refreshed though. we also showered because we thought it would be a bit gross to steam and then leave rather than utilize the shower there too haha. we got boba from oh my tea after; i got the jujube tea and kevin got the mango smoothie! the mango smoothie was the best mango smoothie we’ve ever had... so good. we came back home and chilled. i gamed for a bit; i’m finally getting the vampire asterisk! then i finished reading my book of the month, ‘since we fell’ (it was aiight), and then we took the ‘t’ to back bay to meet up with jenny and her friends.
i met jenny’s friends: effie and monica, and kevin and jenny’s mutual friend from northwestern, derrick. we had to wait 45 minutes get seats at a restaurant called, ‘the salty pig’ so we just talked inside a mall. the service at the restaurant was below average and the wait for the food was too long and not worth it. the food portions were TINY as well. i was excited for their gnocchi but it was super mushy and too sweet. we won’t be coming back here. after dinner, we walked over to ‘the beehive’, a jazz bar/restaurant. there were no available seats and everyone was pretty tired. we did stay there until 12 am though and near the end, we managed to get seats. kevin got poutine and ate at the bar counter while standing lulz. we just talked and then we walked effie and jenny back to effie’s apartment and then derrick went the opposite way to get his bike, and kevin and i took the ‘t’ back home. i drank a pimm’s cup at dinner and by the time we got home, my stomach hurt (it could have also been some of the cheese i ate) and i had a pinching headache. kevin started meal planning with me and i just had to ko on the bed after using the bathroom x_x; i woke up at 2 am, brushed my teeth, and went back to sleep. kevin was finishing up a game and went to sleep at around that time as well.
07: i woke up feeling a lot better! my back was sore from the massage but that means she worked her magic on it. we got out of bed at 10 am. i went to shower, kevin ate breakfast, i ate cereal, started reading ‘ready player one’ while kevin used the washroom, and then we headed to kam man, lucky fortune, and bj’s. apparently, all the produce was fresher this time (maybe because we went there early). then we went to get asian buns from the bakery at lucky fortune as well as some red plums. we stopped by bj’s to get english muffins and then unpacked everything, filled water bottles, and headed out. we stopped by a mcdonald’s because we were craving it. i got 4-pc chicken mcnuggets and an order of small fries and kevin got a mcdouble and mcchicken. both were mcpick 2′s so everything was just $5. <3333 we ate as kevin drove to the hammond pond reservation to meet up with matt and megan (sp?). the boys were outdoor climbing today and we came along to watch, enjoy nature, and take pictures of them ;P
megan used her cool lens attachments for her iphone to take pictures and they were so high quality! it got super chilly but i took a short walk around the place. the reservation is right next to a large movie theater and strip mall so the views weren’t all that great / no hiking trails were defined. i had to pee when we got there but kevin and i got there late so we felt bad for making them wait T_T nearing the end of the climb, i could not hold it in any longer. walking to the car made me want to pee my pants and i felt like i had super bad cramps. kevin rushed to say goodbye to them and then hurriedly drove me over to the strip mall and went outside to ask if there were restrooms i could use. we stopped at a cupcake shop and when i went in, the cashier said someone was in there -__-” then kevin went to the place next door and luckily, no one was in there and i got to finally pee. tmi, but i literally had so much pee, i had to like push it all out @_@ LOL anyway, kevin used the restroom as well and then we drove back home. kevin went to shower and i just chilled, snacked on some snyder’s, and continued reading ‘ready player one.’ then i did laundry and continued reading the book and playing games. the book is really interesting to me so far. it’s very sao-eqsue and log horizon-esque... oh and dot hack-esque ahah.
kevin cooked and i was about to clean the bathroom, but i was talking to winston about staying over at his place when we head to new york for my birthday. winston initiated a video chat with us so we got to catch up :) kevin was still cooking but it was nice to hear from winston <3 we talked while we ate dinner and then winston went back to reading and doing his thang. kevin washed dishes and i folded clothes and then we booked our amtrak tickets (omg thank you, effie for all the tips and tricks for going to ny for cheap!!!) and then i started looking for a hotel (we decided with winston’s encouragement to get a hotel instead) and then i got tired and i went to bed at around 12 am.
post #174
main points:
- weird yellow tint in sky this morning
- lunch in SF with hugh and jwoos
- booling around in japantown and fillmore jazz festival
- head back home
- dim sum uber eats + the office
- yosemite trip planning
today i:
- woke up around 9:30am and chilled in bed watching youtube and such. i woke up this morning to a weird yellow color tint in the sky. it was like someone had color corrected real life. it was like this yellow ish tint. i took some pics on my phone and it’s kind of crazy... i later found out that this was cause there was a fire somewhere nearby and the ash blew into the bay area, giving us this yellow ish tint. it was honestly very surreal
Tumblr media
this pic looks color corrected but it’s not...
- made some oatmeal for breakfast and watched the office “new boss” S5E20. I skipped a few episodes cause i remembered i had watched them v recently
- finalized plans with hugh and jwoos for lunch and then headed up around 11am, getting there around 12pm. the yellow ish tint was even worse up in SF. jwoos and i got seated inside this hot pot place. and then hugh arrived shortly after. however, we didn’t realize that all you can eat was gonna be $36... so before we ordered, we told the waitress we changed our minds and were going somewhere else. we wandered down the street to this famous ramen place, marufuku, but there were 77 parties waiting ahead of us according to yelp... jesus
so we went back to the area near shabusen (hot pot) and went upstairs to hinodeya ramen, which was like 10 parties instead. we waited for about 30-40 minutes, just chilling and chatting. then we got in around 1pm
we ordered the ramen and it was soooooooo good. and really heavy. i was so full afterwards
Tumblr media
- we wandered around japantown east and west mall, stopping by random shops here and there. we stopped by kpop beauty, a samurai sword place, a convenience store, and an anime video store. there was a japan day festival going around the surrounding area so it was cool to see some of the performances. there were drums and this flute thing
- we walked down a couple blocks and went to fillmore jazz festival. it was pretty dope, there was dope jazz music being played every few blocks. we decided to go to boba guys first cause why not
- walked the whole length of fillmore jazz festival, stopping every so often to listen to some of the jazz bands perform. there was one like every other block, and it was fun dancing to their music. we walked the whole length from south to north, and at the top of the hill/end of the festival, there was this free spinal exam tent LOL
hugh decided to sign up for it. while we waited for them to give him an exam, jwoos took some dope pics of us. i’m gonna make one of them my pro pic cause it’s pretty candid. i wish my clothing were a little more symmetrical but oh well
- hugh did his spinal exam (he said he didn’t really learn much LOL). then we walked to alta plaza park to hang out for a bit. then jwoos and i went home. jwoos had a meeting and i just was kind of tired. hugh was gonna go to a dance thing later. we parted ways :’( i ubered home for about 50 min from 4:40pm to 5:30
- i just chilled at home for a bit, watching more david dobrik vlogs. i’ve just been going through all his old videos LOL. i’m at like july 2017 of last year, which is interesting cause it’s like a year ago from today
- ordered dim sum from uber eats and took a long shower. picked up my food around 8pm and then watched the office S5E21 “two weeks”. it’s when michael decides to start his own paper company to protest the new VP david wallace hired. i wanted dim sum cause it was light and ramen from lunch was still heavy sitting in my stomach
- played a few games of fortnite. i played a solo game and was lagging near the end. but i got 4 kills. it came down to me and the last guy, and i was like oh shit i could actually win this. he pushed me cause i had the circle and i tried to knock him down with a grenade launcher, slowing him in the process. he got a lucky snipe on me while pushing and then i started panicking cause i lost my shield. i drank a big shield pot as he built up to me, then we had a small build battle. i wasn’t doing too bad, getting the high ground. but then he got a hit on me with his shotty and i started panicking, so i started running away and heading down LOL. and then he hit me a few times more and i was down to like 20 HP. i was just trying to hide somewhere. i basically gave him even more high ground, i’m not sure what i was trying to do... i choked. then he killed me :/ i saw he only had 3 kills, including me. i realized i should’ve just been more confident and gone for it. i choked. gaaahh. i still haven’t won an actual solos match (i’ve won thanos mode and sniper only but not normal solos)
- met with jwoos, zac and lydia to discuss yosemite trip. we planned out our schedules, sights we wanted to see, logistics for getting there, and what to bring
- wrapped that up around 11:45pm. now it’s 12:35am and i’m typing this, ready to crash. i can’t keep my eyes open anymore. i was looking at jwoos’ picture of me from earlier and debating whether i should make it my pro pic or try to take a better one. i figured, i probably won’t be able to look that candid anymore and it’s still a pretty dope pic. sooo i’m gonna set it tomorrow morning :p (~social media~)
okay good night
today was a fun day in SF
