I am so tired of seeing rise and 2012 turtle crossovers where people are dumping on 2012 Donnie for being a simp. It’s like the whole thing where people thought 2012 Raph would be mean to the rise boys or something (idk I didn’t read those).

Is 2012 Donnie a simp? Yes. Is it uncomfortable to watch at first? Yes. Did he get a better handle on it? Also yes. Like seriously, can you just drop it? He’s like fifteen and has been living in the sewers his whole life and has never seen a person before whereas the rise boys seem to have been socialized a bit better. Idk if it’s because they went topside sooner or more often than the 2012 boys or if they just had better access to the internet and got social interaction that way. Either way, 2012 Donnie’s not gonna know how to handle his crush at first. He does get better though and there are other parts of his personality that we as a fandom can focus on.

Like he and rise Donnie would totally geek out about their shared love of science and tech and probably would be besties. They can finally talk in depth about their inventions without having to cut out the technical terms or simplify anything. Rise Donnie would help 2012 Donnie get more in touch with his mad scientist side, since he doesn’t get to tap in to it as much in 2012. They would compare inventions and rank bad guys and talk about their favorite music and video games and insults and you cannot convince me otherwise.

And let’s not forget, rise Donnie loves his April just as much as 2012 Donnie loves his, he just shows it more through his actions rather than through his words (he tends to show his love through gift giving and anticipating his loved ones needs. He also doesn’t like to be touched, unlike 2012 Donnie who doesn’t seem to have that aversion). If you don’t think they would gush about their respective Aprils I’m sorry but you’re wrong (I’m mean seriously, did everyone forget that rise Donnie was a simp for atomic lass?? They’re more alike than you think).
