I would really like it if the hive mind could move away from the idea that the exception disproves the rule every time
there's such a thing as statistical distribution, the species is made up of unique individuals that nevertheless aggregate into identifiable trends, you can have something be true of most or virtually all people and nevertheless find exceptions. This runs the gamut from effective medical treatments, to the kinds of media people like, to gender roles and expressions, all kinds of things
This Procrustean effort to force everyone to conform to the standard and/or the delusion that the standard is just an axiomatic lie that can be tossed out on a whim are both ridiculous, you can have rules of thumb and broad heuristics that allow for all kinds of exceptions without being falsehoods

i feel like the original series was red guy centered, the first season was for yellow guy, and i am BEGGING AND PRAYING that season 2 will be more about duck!! i will probably cry if anything happens to him though lol 💀 everytime writers break a comic relief character i just OUGSHGS.. it gets me.
h well I don't think you're wrong about that! Webseries being Red Guys time to shine, S1 of the TV show being for Yellow (esp the last two episodes I think? Even thought outside of that, he does get a lot of focus/he IS the one who talks to the audience the most directly).
From what I remember hearing, the pilot was pretty Duck-centered.
But I think even if he GETS his big moment in the sun, so to speak, it's NOT going to be as emotional as the other twos. On top of him just not being a very um… let's say sentimental character, he's just not the make-you-cry type! It's just not him imo!
IDK, I operate under the opinion that… in his weird little head, the most important thing that he values over everything is keeping the three of them together. Both because he thinks of them as a weird little family AND because he really doesn't have anyone else outside of the trio.
We also know from the interview, and you could maybe argue from the Family episode ( Who do you love?/Anyone who loves me back., I asked every member of my family who they loved the most, and they all said me ) that being loved is something that he actually values QUITE a bit! More than you would assume on first glance! He's weirdly upfront about it haha!
In that way, I imagine that if they were to TRY to pull something to put him in the spotlight in the way you're imagining (i.e. something emotional and focusing on his issues like they did with Yellow & Red) it would either focus on his desire to be loved OR his dedication to keeping the three of them together.
But I would argue they both already did that in the Family episode AND put him through the worst case-scenario in regards to those more emotional aspects of his character ( here I think the worst case scenario to him is the other two rejecting him, harshly, unambiguously and to his face, multiple times and the three of them separating ).
AND THE THING IS… THAT ALREADY HAPPENED! THAT DIDN'T BREAK HIM!
He had his little pout over it in his dress and was like FINE! I DON'T NEED THEM ANYWAYS! So, I really don't think that big "character-breaking" moment is coming. If the Family ep didn't get him I honest to God don't think there's anything else the house could throw at him that could get under his skin.

Wanted to tell you that YES while all that happened bakugo is (even tho being held by multiple people) just laying on the ground for multiple chapters
it's incredibly funny to me bc like irl it's been. almost a year since that chapter came out. and he's been lying there the whole time. he's one of my favorite characters but tbh i really want the story to finally cut back to him and have edgeshot pop back out and go "yeah no there's nothing i can do he fuckin dead" bc it would be so freaking funny.
ofc it'd also be pretty bad writing but that's neither here nor there

So a lot of concern exists over reading certain occult texts, and understandably so. A lot of times grimoires contain working copies of magical symbols, diagrams, active magic effects, etc. whether or not the author intended them to, and some people can end up being pestered by entities and taking on the effects of things written in books, for better or for worse. No matter what your susceptibility is, this sigil will nullify it. Thrifty mage who needs information? No more worrying about people who just want you to line their pockets and force you to pay for it magically. Sensitive individual hosting a gateway system? No more intrusive spirits. Happen to have some species trait that activates magic in your presence? No problem, it’s in your control now.
Save a copy of this if you can only use it digitally and keep it wherever you keep your digital copies of books. Physically, keep a copy of it either on your person (this works for physical and digital books) or keep them inside the books in question while reading them.

I'm kind of surprised by the number of people who roleplay/develop their ffxiv characters as, well, the warrior of light. The echo, joining the scions, saving the world repeatedly and all that jazz.
Like I do develop a personality and life for my character, and I roleplay with people when the opportunity arises (used to actively seek it out, but time management) but she's literally just some fucker. Like, more dramatic and powerful than average because thats more fun, but the events of the actual ffxiv are totally divorced from her, happened to somebody else she's never met, over there.
I guess the opportunities for choice and 'roleplay' in the MSQ feel so minimal that it never occurred to me to make that side of things actually 'a character'. When I do the story quests, that's just me enjoying a story, playing the video jame. And then the life and times of my purple cat are something else entirely. Like honestly the funniest interpretation to me is that at most my character heard about primals, dragons, the dramatic war with the empire etc. and imagined herself as a self-insert during every major event, death of a literal god etc.

That resonated with me. I find it exhausting to be around people and it mostly makes me nervous. So being alone feels comfortable but it also hurts when people judge me for being by myself ❤️🩹
yeah, it can feel like there's this sense of personal offence for people when the decision to be alone in a certain situation doesn't actually have anything to do with them. you're not wrong or bad for wanting to be by yourself <3
