so I watched this bit, right? and was thinking “what does this remind me of? where have I seen this before?” and then I had it:

which is why I think I keep circling back to these lines (among others) when I think about what I’m excited about when it comes to the Loki series - because this feels like a thematic core of what the show is going to be working with.

There's been a post thats been circulating on my dash about Italys Sana and for lack of better words, annoys me. As a Muslim woman myself, it is important that a Muslim is played by a Muslim because to not makes the portrayal insincere. It's unacceptable to "identify with and live for a moment" when MUSLIMS LIVES ARE REAL. Diversity isn't a trend we don't want your sorry excuse for representation! Skam was created from research and embraced REAL LIVES! Sorry I love you guys and needed to rant.

I haven’t seen the post you’re talking about but I can only imagine how ugly it is! I can’t believe it’s 2019 and people are still talking over Muslim fans and/or fans of color about Italian Sana’s casting. That’s the hill you wanna die on? In this economy? 

There are literally dozens of posts written by Muslim women and/or women of color especially who have taken the time out to explain to everyone else why this casting is very offensive. But people honestly just want to be affirmed in their bigotry! They say they care but at the end of the day they really don’t. smdh.

And... I don’t want to tell you what to do, but honestly if you’re seeing posts like that on your dash being written by people you follow and/or uncritically being reblogged by people you follow... I really think that’s the point to re-evaluate who you follow. A lot of times it’s unavoidable but we also are in control of the content we see on our dashes. I don’t think you should keep following people who make you upset or who so blatantly dismiss your concerns or the concerns of other marginalized people. 

It may be harsh, but I’m extremely liberal with the unfollow and the block buttons. I also use the XKit extension and have Sk*mIt blacklisted. Again sometimes that shit is unavoidable to see, but there are also options. I hope that your dash gets better and you don’t have to keep seeing this BS!

Also, ranting is always appropriate here! :)
