Summary: After you had been left heartbroken by a fellow kook, you decide to let loose at the Cameron house per Sarahs request. Little did you know, your best friends brother may be the only one there to pick up the pieces.

Warnings: alcohol use, swearing, mentions of sex (smut in the next parts)

AN: In the words of Victoria Justice, my best friends brother is the one for me…

“Y/N please don’t cry! We both know he didn’t deserve you” Sarah protests through the phone, eager to help her best friend.

“I know, I know. But with her? Seriously? You have to be kidding” you cry, tears streaming down your rosy cheeks, painting your skin with your mascara.

After a year together, your now ex boyfriend Jake decided to cheat on you. Ironically, it was with the girl he always told you not to worry about. Turns out, when a man says “don’t be stupid, she means nothing to me. I love you Y/N” what they actually mean is “I’m ganna fuck this girl upstairs at a party whilst you and your friends are all downstairs looking for you”

Dick.

“Why don’t you come round tonight. My Brother is having some friends round for drinks in the hot tub and he said I can join, I’m sure he won’t mind if you come with” Sarah says.

You weigh out the pros and cons in your head, and decide that alcohol, your best friend and her brothers cute friends beats rotting away in your depression pit of a bedroom any day.

“Well, I do need a drink. I’ll be round later, love you Sarah” you say, a small smile creeping up on your face for what felt like the first time in days.

After a rocky patch In their relationship, Rafe and Sarah have actually been getting on relatively well recently. Although you don’t know much about Rafe considering you have been best friends with his sister since you were little, you did know he could be difficult at times. You always made conversation with him at his house or at parties to be polite, but nothing substantial ever came of it. His looks made up for his dry conversation, but you knew Sarah would kill you if you ever went near him.

A few hours passed and you pulled up to Tanny Hill in a blue bikini accompanied by some denim shorts. When you lazily knocked on the door, you were greeted with a topless Rafe. His defined muscles along with his tanned skin definitely made him a sight for sore eyes.

“Y/N hi, Sarah told me you were coming” he says, and you don’t miss the way his eyes flicker up and down your dainty figure somewhat subtly.

What takes prominence over that however, is the smile on his face which is half genuine and half full of pity. Great, Sarah has told him.

“Hey, yeah I hope that’s okay” you say.

He mutters a quick of course and ushers you into the kitchen. You agree almost immediately when he offers you a drink, which he takes notice of.

“She’s just getting changed upstairs. She’ll be down in a sec” Rafe says, when he observes you scanning the room for Sarah.

You smile and mutter a thank you as he puts a drink on the counter in front of you. As he’s about to leave to join his friends in the garden, you grab his arm.

He turns around with a confused but sincere look on his face, his blue orbs dazzling with intrigue.

“Uh look, I’m assuming Sarah told you about my breakup. I don’t want any pity okay, I just wanna get drunk and forget about it. So please, no more sympathy looks. I would actually prefer it if you were your moody self” you say.

Rafe chuckles, and you mirror his actions. His blue eyes burn into your own as he studies you. He’s always thought you were adorable as you always acted shy and innocent around him. Until now, however, he’s never realised how goddamn beautiful you were.

“Sure, I get it” he replies. Without thinking, Rafe brings his muscular arm up to your face, dragging your stray strands of hair from the front of your face behind your ear. The gesture was an attempt to comfort you without using words. Rafe was never very good at using his words, and he would much rather show someone how he felt than tell them.

Your body felt like it was set on fire as he touched you, the small action turning your brain into mush.

The two of you snapped back to reality as the sound of footsteps became louder and louder. Rafe cleared his throat as he pulled away from you, and you instantly grabbed your drink, the desire for alcohol increasing by the second as you looked everywhere but at him.

“Y/N!” Sarah shouts, pulling you in for a hug as she reaches you.

You return a hello as you embrace her petite frame. Your eyes accidentally catch Rafe’s as you hug Sarah. The smugness radiates off him as he sends you a wink, a smirk crawling on his tanned face before he walks out into the garden.

You realise his sympathy towards you was indeed short-lived as he’s back to his normal self. You mentally curse. Maybe pitiful looks we’re the better option after all.

The next hour or two consisted of you, Sarah, Topper, Kelce and Rafe crammed into their luxury hot tub. Everyone was pretty drunk by this point, which you blamed on Kelce for making everyone play drinking games. You even had to kiss Topper during a game of truth or dare which was extremely awkward for everyone involved.

Rafe had been sending you flirtatious looks all night, most of which you have returned with a glare. It’s like he’s trying to get you into trouble. The worst part about it though, was that it took a lot of self restraint not to play along and indulge in his suggestive actions.

“Okay, okay, last one I promise. Rafe truth or dare” Kelce says, before finishing the rest of his drink. You’ve lost count of how much you have drank tonight. It turns out drowning your sorrows is a pretty effective method for solving your problems.

“Dare” he says without hesitation, and you admire his braveness.

“I dare you… to kiss Y/N” he says with a smirk. Oh no.

“Gross!” Sarah yells, her body swaying to the music in the background. It was clear she was the drunkest out of all of us.

Your eyes widen as you realised what Kelce has just said, eyes practically popping out of your skull. Rafe swaps places with Topper to sit next to you, and as you turn you head to face him you notice his eyes turn dark with lust.

Before Rafe could make a move though, Sarah leans over the hot tub to throw up. You’ve never been happier to see someone throw up, and you mentally thank Sarah for never being able to handle her drink.

“I think that’s enough for you tonight” Topper laughs at the blonde chucking her guts up before him.

Sarah’s words are slurred as she tries to reply, and Kelce and topper carry her out of the tub and into the house, putting her into bed.

As the three leave, you can practically feel the tension rising between you and Rafe. You know you should just get out and call for a ride home, but part of you is burning to know what his full red lips would feel like against yours, or how good it would feel to have him inside of you.

You subside your dirty thoughts as you start to get out of the hot tub, but Rafe stops you by pulling you down onto his lap so your back is against his chest.

You don’t know wether to freeze up, or relax under his touch, a flutter of adrenaline pulsing through your veins as you sit on the lap of your best friends older brother.

“What are you doing” you breathe, the rise and fall of your chest an indication of your fast beating heart.

“I think you know what I’m doing” he whispers in a low and raspy tone in your ear. His hand runs up and down your thigh, and you can feel your arousal spilling out of you at his seductive words.

Rafe grabs your jaw and turns your face towards him. Once again his eyes are filled with lust and if you weren’t already sitting down, your knees probably would have buckled.

You don’t know weather it was the alcohol or weather you just wanted to do it, but you welcomed his kiss. The kiss was slow and his lips were soft, which was unexpected, but you loved it. His tongue teased your own as his hand ran down your neck and then into your hair. This kiss held more passion than anything you had experienced with your ex the whole year you were together.

When you felt Rafes fingers run over the place you wanted him the most, you snapped back into reality. He’s your best friends brother, what the hell are you doing.

“Fuck, we can’t do this” you say, pulling away from him.

Needing to get out of this situation, you spring up out of the hot tub, grab your towel and your belongings and rush inside, ignoring Rafes protests for you to stay. You texted Sarah that your leaving, saying that you’ll call her tomorrow and that you hope she’s alright.

Rafe sat there for a while, waiting for his erection to go away before he could find his friends. For some reason, although the had just been rejected, he just couldn’t shake the feeling that this was only the beginning with you and him.

With 17 versions to buy and 8 versions combined for 160 streams per Spotify account, plus Melon and FLO streams now counting, of course Jungkook’s Seven is charting high and sweeping awards. Firstly because it’s Jungkook of course, and secondly because it’s been given every possible advantage.

My (perhaps controversial) opinions about that are below the cut.

Honestly? I really can’t feel good about any “first” or “most” or “fastest” records achieved by this single—catchy as it is—which wasn’t written or conceived by Jungkook and has nothing much personal or deeply meaningful about it. It’s a fun feel-good summer pop song, for sure, but no more groundbreaking than, say, Bad Decisions (in my opinion… I have no musical expertise.)

But I can’t feel super great about all the records and awards because this many versions immediately restocked and shipped and auto play and promoted to radio and ads and leadership hyping only this while Jungkook says he wants to be the one and only artist to conquer kpop and pop for the next thousand years… it all just doesn’t really sit right with me.

When compared to the 10 months Jimin forewent sleep, food, and showers to have a hand in every aspect of his first (and deeply personal and symbolic) album, which was never sent to radio or restocked, got split tracks and delayed playlisting and shady articles, plus not one kudos or congratulations from leadership even after he made history for South Korea and stocks soared…

Forgive me, but it all leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It is ruining the song for me.

Some things like culled streams and sales are out of the company’s control. But the things I mentioned above were all possible for Jimin’s Hot 100 #1. Even if every Tannie has total say in their projects' sales and marketing, and everyone was on board with only Jungkook getting the Hybe America "red carpet" treatment, I can’t lie and say the stark difference feels fine. It doesn't, and I confess I leave the headphones in every time Seven comes up in the playlists now.

I’m not jealous. If anything, I have a warped sense of pride that Jimin has done so fantastically well despite so many, many obstacles stacked against him. I love to champion an underdog and I’m glad I never need to doubt his success was organic. I actually feel extra admiration for how humble and hardworking he continues to be—no resting on any laurels for the It Boy. I'm so glad he is my ult-bias.

*sigh*

Listen to me.

I know Jungkook and Jimin are both genuinely good people. I know they are sincerely talented and hard working. I know they truly love each other. I know all members are legitimately happy for each others' success.

I know what’s important to me may not be important to them, nor what they want for their careers. And even if I feel their company’s making shitty decisions, I know my place as a fan.

So I trust them. And I simply hang in. I hope lessons were learned for smoother, fairer future releases. Because neglecting assets makes zero business sense, and perceived favoritism can erode the group’s bonds and tear ARMY apart. It is, frankly, just plain stupid.

So I may dislike things about their solo era rollouts and I can't bring myself to sugar-coat it; but I mostly try to keep my negative thoughts to myself and find things I CAN celebrate with other fans on an open timeline.

I never want another Tannie to feel anguished and misunderstood the way Hobi did about JitB’s physicals.

Watching Jungkook’s face here on his London live when he talks about people hating him just haunts me. It guts me. I can't stand it. That kid was going through it and I don't believe he has a malicious bone in his body, so it just really upsets me seeing him like that.

There’s so, so much about this company, this industry, this culture that I just don’t understand. But I trust Park Jimin completely. As long as Park Jimin loves and supports his members, God knows, I will too.

So!! On that note...

We have Jungkook’s birthday to celebrate next week and Taehyung’s album to support the week after that. I’m going to do my best to rest up and gather some good energy for these things!

And of course, we must congratulate our Jimin, who made history again today, and no matter what, will always set the standard. I just know he's cooking up something else for us with all these weeks of silence, and I cannot wait to go BERSERK for it whenever it drops.

I’m not really sure I had a point to this post. It’s just that I have been mulling all this over for a long time, and finally felt well enough to sit up long enough to come online and type up my thoughts.

I guess what I mostly wanted to share with my friends here is that it’s okay to feel really disappointed and even enraged at the way some things play out over the (hopefully life-long) careers of BTS members. Don't let folks gaslight you. Call it like you see it. (Maybe keep sensitive things behind a cut or in the DMs--and of course, please change your mind if you get better insight. In the end, only the Tannies really know what's going on with the Tannies.)

But while I’m still side-eyeing the company so hard right now, I’ve decided to love and support the boys as people and artists. I'm trying to believe the best in everyone. I’m still an OT7 Jikooker.

You don’t have to agree with me, and if you need to unfollow, I understand. But I figured I should just tell you guys (especially the new followers) where I am at with all this.

I really, really wanted to love Borderlands 3. Especially after the Commander Lilith expansion, which I adored. (Brick and Mordecai's whole thing 😭 and Hector! Good villain!! And he had so many parallels to my OC Bool. Big magic, both me and the new writers of the series stumbling on basically the same villain.)

And I know how hard writing can be. I imagine writing for a game is way, way harder, with the limitations of the genre and everyone meddling. So I don't want to blame the new writers.

But damn. For me, BL3 was a bunch of disappointments, one after another. Starting with the characterisation of Vaughn. Was so looking forward to that unlikely little nerd coming into his own as a bandit leader on Pandora. But he was just an annoying joke.

The Maliwan CEO was dull as dirt....the new characters were mostly unmemorable......most of the jokes didn't land for me.....Troy and Tyreen having muddled, watered down characterisation in spite of being Exactly My Type, boy/girl evil siblings, and wishing I could have loved them more....rghh...stupid little things, my own fault for speculating, like hoping we would acquire characters from the previous games onto the ship and their rooms would have environmental storytelling, or even little vignettes together that you could hear as you walk past. But nah....

I also had mixed feelings about the way Brick and Mordecai were handled. Of course I was touched that they made a home together with Tiny Tina, because, holy shit, what more could you want? But the monkeys paw of this is that Mordecai seemed really, really sad. It's been a long ass time since I played BL3, so maybe I'm misremembering, but he really bummed me out. Also if you talk to him enough times, he makes a remark about not being able to date anyone because Brick and Tina make it difficult to bring women around, and I dont know, man, I dont know, I'm not proud of it, but I just want my otp to be canon, alright? I'm only human, and that voice line really got me down.

So much of this wasn't the creators of BL3's fault. Just my own expectations. There was some stuff that was objectively bad (lots of long, drawn out Bad Stuff happening during cinematics while my characters should be able to interfere with events, but we have plot paralysis I guess. Overall weak plot. That shit fucking scene at the end where Tannis, TANNIS, WHO I'VE KNOWN FOREVER, BEEN THERE FROM THE BEGINNING TANNIS, is like ????? What's going on I don't get it????? And Ava, BABY AVA, has to explain shit to her? And I think Ava becomes the boss after that?? Nah man nah....nothing against Ava but she ain't next in line.)

But ye I can acknowledge it was mostly my own fault for expecting too much 😞

the live starts with her smiling and checking herself in the camera

she hums an unfamiliar tune for a few minutes before she puts on a smile

"i know" she laughs "i meant on live. i know i said i was on hiatus until i graduate, but i thought it would be nice to come on here and celebrate my birthday with you guys, even just for a bit"

she silently reads through the comments, greeting hi to a few different comments in different languages

a small shake of the camera made her let out a small laugh while she hit someone off camera

why are you in a car?

"well, i'm on the way home because i spent the day with the tannies. kookie oppa is driving, and jiminie oppa is holding the camera for me. we're gonna have a midnight dinner at my place. maybe i should play midnight rain"

she turns the camera to the two sides, showing off a driving jungkook and a wrapped up jimin.

"you are not playing a sentimental song when we should be celebrating," jungkook gave her a quick look before turning back to the road

jimin and jungkook started singing happy birthday, both going extra and making riffs while she just laughed and covered her face in amusement. they finished one round of the happy birthday song in korean then one in english then again in korean

jungkook held up a finger in front of her, which she blew. he quickly folded it over, imitating a candle going out

"i'm fine," she smiled, "finals just ended, and today was quite emotionally draining. for now, i'm on break and get to watch my friends perform"

she sat back a little, probably remembering the different stages she's watched from home recently rather than from in the venue like she was used to in the past how many years

"how did you guys know i was there?"

jimin laughed off camera. yoonmi looked over at something, probably jimin showing her something on his phone. she chuckled and shook her head while grabbing the phone from him and showing it on camera"

there were four photos. first was a selfie she was taking while seri and beomgyu squished their cheeks to hers. second was one of her laughing at yeonjun who had her in a headlock. third was her doing a "chic model" pose with the soobin and the maknaes. fourth was a decent photo of all seven of them, the last photo being them with the banners from the manila concert. the caption read "happy birthday to the most supportive sunbae who flew to her hometown for our last stop on tour. txt's honorary 7th member, happy birthday!"

"you guys should have tweeted this and tagged the bangtan account," she laughed, "but thank you. i love you guys. as for the concert, it was amazing, of course. txt are amazing performers, and they've grown so much. i honestly can't wait to see the distances they'll reach with how talented they are. and, before you ask, i have an nda that keeps me from spoiling anything about their comeback"

"apparently that doesn't work for bangtan content," jungkook snorted.

she leans back with a sheepish smile on her face "i'm not technically under an nda for bangtan things, they just trust me"

"more like they trust us to keep you from spoiling," jungkook shot back playfully

"yeah, yeah, don't start, it's my birthday"

"i got part of what i wanted," she smiled. "i spent the day with the tannies, and i'm about to have a midnight dinner with the oppas, my brother, and his family. i just kinda wish i could see channie oppa and our family. my boyfriend... i really want to see mark oppa, too, but we haven't seen each other recently because we've both been busy"

her fingers lightly tugged at her hair while she spoke

"it's just been kinda... bittersweet? yeah today's been strange, but i'm glad i get to spend time with people i love. you guys included, of course!"

she laughs to herself "gosh, i've gotten so bad at lives"

a hand reaches into frame, stopping her own from tugging her hair. she smiles down and squeezes at it, smiling at the side jimin was sitting on in thanks for comforting her

she bursts into giggles while jimin and jungkook are just laughing. it takes a good few minutes for them to calm down before she speaks

"i'll be sure to pass the message on"

the members' greetings for you were so cute!

she looks up at jungkook and jimin "yeah, it was pretty sweet. i just didn't think they were doing anything specific these past few weeks when they kept telling me to pose certain ways with them. how they came up with recreating our first photos together, i don't know. i cried, but when do i not cry?"

jungkook's voice cut in "you should have seen her, it was like someone played the saddest video on earth"

there was a smack and jungkook crying out in pain. yoonmi laughed while some bickering played out in front of her of jimin telling jungkook to stop picking on yoonmi while jungkook justified that that's how their friendship works

"this is what i deal with on a daily basis" she pretended to roll her eyes "this is my reality, guys"

if you had the chance to teleport and pause time today for as long as you want and choose who to unfreeze with you, what would you do?

"i'd visit channie oppa and my family," she smiles to herself, "i'd ask for a lazy day with them because i know channie oppa needs to rest. then probably hang out with mark oppa. finally, i'd have all the tannie oppas with me for a nice meal. all of them. and maybe we could talk about old memories for a bit before we move on with our lives again."

"that actually sounds really nice," jimin noted. jungkook hummed in agreement.

she zoned out for a bit before a notification from her phone popped up. she read it and smiled.

"the bighit 01s are coming over for midnight dinner, too," she smiled before looking up. "we're getting pretty close, i think, so i might have to end this live here. thanks for the birthday greetings, luvs. i appreciate you all! see you when my hiatus is over, i'll be freshly graduated with some new things in store for you"

with that, she began waving at the live, moving the camera forward so if caught jimin in shot as well. he waved, too. "bye, army! take care!"

there was a shout goodbye from jungkook, making jimin and yoonmi laugh. she moves closer to the camera, crossing her eyes slightly before laughing and moving back

"thanks for spending this international legality car party with me. sorry i didn't prepare much. love you, army! see you when i see you!"

okay jikook is definitely real and all i can’t argue with that

but why do they drink so much when they’re together? i understand they’re often awake until like 4AM and they both love alcohol, so obviously they’re bound to drink when they’re together

but it’s just…ALL THE TIME. whenever we get news (more like confirmation) that they spent time together the night before, there’s always drinking involved. them asking each other who smelled like alcohol (whether they were joking or not) in the latest bangtan bomb just means they drank a lot. again.

i go partying and clubbing a LOT and i’m a year younger than jk. i don’t think it’s a case of me tryna mom over them. we’re just made aware of a quarter of the time they spend together. and even then, it almost always involves alcohol so what more off cam?

i guess i’m just extra concerned about them now, especially after news about an idol’s death.

Okay, we seriously need to talk about this. Okay take for example, I am Kenyan and we drink, ALOT. It's part of my culture. I can finish 10 beers and still be fine while my Scottish partner drinks 2 beers and he's already falling asleep. I can finish 2 bottles of wine while my UK friend drinks a glass and half and suddenly she's seeing double. Cultural differences are important anon and they are things Armys need to start considering when it comes to BTS. I wouldn't treat my American friend the same way I will treat my Russian or my Polish friend. I have a Polish ex who used to finish a bottle of Vodka, fucking vodka by himself. And no he wasn't an alcoholic, they just drink alot over there.

Koreans are heavy drinkers. It's part of their culture and they have such high tolerance. If I ever met BTS I want to have a drink with Suga so I can see who between us will pass out first coz that man can drink 😂😂 but I don't see no one giving him shit for it. Just JK. People on YouTube calling Jimin an alcoholic, why? Do you know he's not even the member who drinks the most? Just because he likes to down his drink and others prefer to pace themselves, doesn't make him the biggest drinker among the Tannies. Did u see Jin in BV Malta? And this man still woke up the next day looking fresh as a fucking daisy, after MIXING drinks all night. You have to be pretty bad ass to mix your liquor and still be okay the next day. Even i can't do that!

Jikook don't have a drinking problem. You, the one judging them, you are the problem. Cultural differences people. Let's try n remember this please!

I was listening to in which couple's playlist and I realized maybe the reason why it captured a lot of our hearts is because it's so close to reality. You know their challenges, the traumas, and possible shortcomings from the both of them. And I think that in which! jk is the closest one to the actual irl jk when it comes to love. And I can't help but wish that such a great soul like jungkook will be blessed by an unconditional love like in this fiction. It was wholesome, fun, romantic, adventurous, comforting, and silly during the first collection of drabbles and I feel like those are the things that jungkook deserves to experience everyday. And when the second collection came, where the big fall out happened, it is something that irl him could face and the way that their love thrived just because it is that strong - tho I think that at that point kook would accept whatever oc's decision would be even if it hurts him, like if things ended up the other way. But the way oc just told him to come home and just let them and love him as long as they can. Like that flick a some kind of light inside him that he is indeed deserved to be loved and that he is capable of taking care of them and making them feel safe around him.

I can't help but wonder if he receives the kind of comfort that he gives to us, his fans. And not to mention the way he treats us like his best friends and just hang out and tell us his thoughts and plans and wants our input everytime is so endearing. This is the beauty of Chapter 2. The boys trying new things for themselves and sharing that work with ARMYs and millions of people to try out too.

Nearly all the people in Balming Tiger are staples of the local khh and k-alternative scene RM and Yoongi are still a part of, but the last time these guys as a group made a bit of a splash was in 2019 I think, with Armadillo. I thought Kolo Kolo (released 2020) was a better song but for whatever reason it didn't blow up as much as Armadillo did, and the group's fame has mostly remained limited to their niche communities. Balming Tiger are a bit unknown outside Korea, some members unknown even outside Sudogwon. Joon working with them on a song like Sexy Nukim seems like exactly the sort of thing he would do.

They've remained active since then and if you want to keep up with them just follow the 88rising and H1ghr crowd.

Think I said recently that Tae, and to a lesser extent Joon, are the members who act most like typical Korean guys, and Joon fully leans into that masculine energy in this song. He let's it all hang out. You're absolutely right that RM is the best rapper on this joint.

Joon can be a bit of a hiphop purist so seeing him take on a track like Sexy Nukim is both unsurprising and also illuminating. The song itself I'd rate an 8/10 and it would've been 9/10 if not for Mudd on that track. MTS is probably the most 'indie' or 'alternative' artist on the song but for some reason he tried to channel Lil Uzi Vert. Just... why? That verse from Mudd the Student at 1:45 was entirely unneeded, but with enough listens it makes Namjoon's entrance on the track so much more satisfying. Joon talked his shit and dear lord that shoutout to BTS at 2:45 is so hot.

Let's touch on the elephant in the hall: it's likely most people in the fandom aren't going to like this song. I've heard the MV is difficult for some people to watch as well. This is a very distinct sound even within hip hop/soul, and it's as far from k-pop as one can go. Like this is the actual experimental music in k-pop, not really the stuff executives at SM, JYP, and YG recycle in every comeback. I think there's a real opportunity for people to discover a whole new world of sounds if they give this song a chance. Which is why I feel a bit encouraged by Anon 1's reaction and Anon 3 asking for suggestions to make streaming more fun, because I imagine switching between Bad Decisions (last Tannie release) and Sexy Nukim could be a bit... disorienting. Though I also allow contrasts in my playlists (and will add one in this list).

I think it's alright if this song underperforms the others. RM's taste is distinctly old school & vibey hip hop - it's the foundational first principles stuff that he loves and excels in that's likely always going to get less traction than the trap/trendy styles SOPE lean more towards. There are also tough conversations the fandom is going to have in Chapter 2 about who is actually supporting all the members, and as I said in my post on JITB, it's a conversation that's already started.

the main reason why i’m writing more for skz (mostly lino) at the moment is just bc that’s where the inspiration is coming from right now, and that has been really refreshing! the tannies are on hiatus so i figured it might also be a good time for me to take a little break too and try out new things

as for how i got into skz/lino, heheheheheh 😈 tbh after i got into kpop again, i was only keeping up with the tannies and i knew essentially nothing about any of the other groups (skz included). tho you might’ve noticed that i was starting to get into txt back in august/september (i love them and they’re my babies but i don’t really stan them the same way i do with the tannies and skz). anywhomst, idk if you knew about the obs discord server, but in the server we used to do movie nights where we would rewatch run bts and suchwita. there was one day where not everyone could attend and i didn’t want them to miss out on us watching run bts so we just played random videos and compilations and i started putting on lino fancams (at that point i had been intrigued by him after seeing some gifs of him at the vma’s on my dash eheheheh) and i wanted to scratch that itch a lil bit. we had a couple of people in the server who were also skz stans so it was fun watching with them! and they put on skz music for us to listen to. and i fell in love with mimo in that one night lmao 🤣 and i have been Down Bad ever since <3

It sounds quite serious though :/ I can only respond very generally now unfortunately; twitter can be extremely overwhelming, exhausting and addicting, I know how you feel. What really helps me is filtering by muting words and certain accounts!! For instance, I muted (I think even blocked) the big chart (data) accounts because they made me so incredibly anxious back in the days, still do. During comebacks, I literally mute ‘goals’, ‘charts’, ‘streams’ etc to avoid this toxic behaviour that’s been going on on that site regarding that. I also don’t follow many people and rely more on the algorithm to suggest me popular tweets. Maybe you can try to start filtering tweets and accounts like this too to not see more of that topic? I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable going on there, and please don’t feel bad about getting sucked into certain topics that might be…not so good; this fandom is great at giving everyone the worst fomo, even when you actually want to miss out for once. Just… don’t engage with it. There’s not much more you can do I fear, there will always be people without common sense or actual lives they should be more worried about than those of seven grown-up men. Tumblr has other negative sides to it, but I agree with you, at least the people here seem to not spread inappropriate stuff about the boys. Stay safe dear 🤍

1 Month

It started with two dozen red roses delivered to your office on a Tuesday morning, white envelope tucked in between the petals. The notecard inside had a heart scribbled on it in black ink, but it was missing the name of a sender.

Your eyebrows slightly furrowed together in confusion at the mysterious delivery. You assumed that the flowers were meant for someone in an adjacent office, maybe for a birthday or anniversary. Before you could investigate further, your phone vibrated on top of your desk, alerting you to a text message.

One month down, five to go. 🌹 – Tae

You immediately pressed your boyfriend’s contact on your phone. It rang twice before he picked up.

“Hey, babe,” Tae greeted you.

“How did you pull this off?” you asked incredulously. He chuckled deeply on the other end of the phone.

“I refuse to reveal my secrets. But now that I know you got the first delivery, I finally get to tell you about my plans,” Tae said. You could practically see his boxy smile at the idea of besting you. You were nearly impossible to surprise, always guessing what present he was going to buy you or finding his hiding spots.

“Go on,” you encouraged, the floral scent of the roses filling your office.

“I have decided to surprise you each month that I am on tour,” Taehyung explained. “I don’t want you to forget about me.”

“Tae, how could I forget about you? I’m staying at your apartment. I’m taking care of Tannie.”

“I’m just taking precautions,” Tae joked. “Besides, I want you to be more in love with me when I come back.”

“Well, the roses are certainly a good start,” you teased. You paused, hit by an overwhelming feeling of how much you missed Taehyung and his playful grin when you were flirting with each other. 

You heard someone trying to talk to him on the other end of the line. You knew that your time talking to Tae would be fleeting while he was on tour; this first month away from each other had already been hard for you.

“Hey, I’ll have to call you later, okay?” Tae said apologetically, the flurry of activity going on around him getting louder.

“Of course,” you said, doing your best to hide your sudden emotions.

“Give Tannie a kiss.” You hummed in agreement to his instructions. “Oh, and make sure to think of me when you smell the roses.”

“Aish, you’re shameless,” you said, laughing. Tae could always make you smile, even when you were missing him. You both said goodbye to each other.

You sighed, looking at the roses on your desk. Five months to go, indeed.

5 Months

You tripped over a box sitting outside of Taehyung’s apartment door, subconsciously gripping Tannie’s leash tighter in your grip as you stumbled. You had taken the little fluff ball on a walk around the neighborhood after coming home from work so you could enjoy the cool, evening air.

There was no return address listed on the box, but you already had a sneaking suspicion who it was from.

During the second month of his tour, Taehyung ordered you delivery from your favorite restaurant, complete with a handwritten list of movies that he made the delivery driver give you with your meal. He called you soon after it arrived, telling you he had the night to himself so you two could have dinner and watch a movie together over Facetime.

Month three was hard for both of you. The halfway point made you realize how many weeks it had been since you had been able to cuddle or kiss your boyfriend, and you just wanted him to be near you. You told him during a teary phone call after a long day at work that you felt lonely, his curly hair falling into his serious eyes as he told you not to cry, that he would be home soon.

You were surprised when three of your close girlfriends showed up the next week at Taehyung’s apartment with a bottle of champagne in one hand and a black dress in your size in the other. They told you that Tae had instructed them to get you out of the house and out for the night. It was exactly what you needed.

By month four, you were anticipating his surprises, trying to guess what he would send you and when he was going to do it. He would just laugh, telling you that his lips were sealed.

A driver showed up at your office at the end of the day on a Friday, requesting that you check your messages to confirm that he was supposed to pick you up. There was an audio message from Tae telling you that the driver was taking you to the art museum across the city. You and Taehyung would often find yourselves there before close, wandering through the galleries together, your fingers intertwined. He told you in his message that you could stay as long as you wanted because he had called the museum and asked for a favor. You ended up looking at paintings for hours that night.

Now that month five was almost over, you were counting down the days until you could see him again. For now, the box with the next surprise would have to be a placeholder.

You opened the front door, letting Tannie inside before grabbing the box to open it on the kitchen counter. There was a note on the top in Tae’s scrawl.

There was a carefully folded, oversized gray hoodie in the box. You lifted the fabric up to your face, inhaling deeply. The scent of Tae’s favorite cologne was strong–he must have sprayed it before putting it in the box. You put the hoodie on, pulling down the sleeves to cover your hands, feeling the warmest you had in months.

6 Months

“I’m sorry, Y/N, I had no idea we were going to have to stay three extra weeks,” Tae said with a pout.

You gave him a sad smile, blinking the tears in your eyes away at the unexpected news about his delay. “I understand. I just miss you, that’s all.”

“I know, babe, I miss you, too. You have no idea how much.”

“We’ve made it through almost six months, right? What’s another three weeks?” you tried to joke, but Tae grimaced slightly at your forced tone.

“At least there’s one more surprise left,” Tae said with a smirk and an eyebrow raise, making you giggle. “Goodnight, love, I’ll talk to you soon.”

“Goodnight, Tae.”

After your video call, Tannie curled into your lap, seeming to notice that you were a little down. You pet his black fur, knowing that he probably missed Tae, too.

You didn’t hear from Taehyung for a week besides the occasional text letting you know that he was still alive. The day you circled on your calendar for his original homecoming came and went; you wore his hoodie practically that whole day wishing it was his arms wrapped around you instead.

You decided to get out of the house the next day, taking Tannie on a walk to go get an iced coffee. You sent a text message to Tae with a picture of Tannie enjoying a pup cup at the café, knowing it would make him smile. You scrolled through your Instagram feed as you waited for your order at the pickup counter, not noticing the black SUV with tinted windows pull up across the street.

Your ringtone sounded in your ears, a call from Taehyung coming through.

“Hey, stranger,” you said happily, mouthing a ‘thank you’ to the barista as you grabbed your coffee and headed out the door with Tan.

“Hi babe, what’d you get at the café? Anything for me?” Tae said, a loud gasp leaving your mouth. Your eyes frantically searched the busy sidewalk for a sign of him, but you couldn’t see him. “Straight ahead of you, darling.”

You looked across the street, eyes meeting his. His caramel-colored hair was pushed back away from his forehead, a long navy peacoat covering his crossed arms as he lifted an eyebrow at you with a smirk as if to say, are you just going to stand there?

Tannie started barking in excitement, pulling at his leash to get to his owner that he hadn’t seen in six months. You followed the dog’s lead, running toward Tae once the traffic cleared, his arms catching you, hugging you tightly. His head was buried in your neck, smiling against your skin. You were grinning like an idiot, tears staining your cheeks as you looked at him.

“Wh-what are you doing? I thought you said three more weeks, I don’t understand. You’re here!” Tannie was still barking for his attention, his leash tangling the two of you together as he ran frantic circles around you both. Taehyung smiled brightly at you, his thumb running across your cheek to wipe the happy tears.

“We actually finished on schedule, and I was on my way home when I saw your text. I couldn’t wait any longer to see you, so I thought I’d just meet you here,” he explained. “Oh, I almost forgot.” You waited for him to continue, but you were distracted as he leaned forward, his lips barely brushing against yours.

“Surprise.”

Hey there dear, i have recently discovered your blog and love it. I am also a fellow jikook supporter and believe that they are more than platonic.

Its just this one video that I have seen recently on YouTube where Jungkook kissed Tae's nape on airport and taekookers making it seem so huge annoys me.

Taekookers exaggerate taekook moments so much, but I have seen all BTS members cuddling, kissing hair, forehead, cheeks, etc. (which we even do with our siblings) and (leaving jikook) I only sense a platonic bond among them.

I just that when I see jikook moments, the way the look at each other, seek eachother, touch eachother, little jealousy I sometimes sense is different from others.

I just wanted to know what you think

And I'm pretty even this one was sort of just a "it's in front of me, so I'm going to kiss it" moment, because Tae sometimes just does that. Lol he has a lot of love to give!! Another example of that "I'm gonna to kiss you if you are close enough and in front of me"

And even if it wasn't that. The tannies all give each other kisses all the time. Especially Vhope honestly. They give out kisses like candy!
