something that doesn't make sense to me about all the james somerton stuff is, like... of course you have to research to come upon his plagiarism, but something that really was plain to everyone to see was that the dude was a raging misogynist (not to say transphobic and acephobic as well) and people supported him anyway?

the scene of Hawkeye delivering a baby in “Love and Marriage” is sweet (and heartbreaking in hindsight), but that doesn’t make up for the racism and sexism in the B plot

Kinda sucks that a lot of people are treating people with long covid as an entirely separate community from the chronic illness community at large. I've also seen people with long covid separate themselves from us as well. They are acting like they're the first ones who've been denied care or ignored, and refuse to accept that they are now "like us". So many people who were perfectly abled are suddenly becoming disabled, and it's only now society is freaking out and pushing for treatments for this chronic illness (on the bright side its sort of causing interest in POTS, fibromyalgia, CFS, etc). Where was all this research when people were coming down with other chronic illnesses? (I'm not saying it isn't good that there's research happening, and it's obviously not enough, especially because long covid primarily happens to women. It's just a lot more mainstream to talk about long covid vs other illnesses)
I want to accept people with long covid with open arms, give them advice and comfort. But I've found many don't want it from me. There's a big community of us that are here for you, cast aside your internalized ableism and join us in the fight for a more accessible world.

i swear if you pull a late April fools on us and it turns out the chapter is not close to done I'll be respectfully kinda angry
respectfully what the hell and also i did not spend 4 days rewriting all that I lost from my chapter getting corrupted and months of planning and drawing storyboard ideas for it just to not post it
edit: asker messaged and clarified they mean't like 'tell everyone the chapter isn't done and then post it' kinda april fools joke, and apologized for the miscommunication, and I might have taken this a bit too harshly because of my previous experiences. all is well and there's no hard feelings 💕

Sometimes I think about how the turtles are just kids, y’know? Just kids and yet it’s up to them to save people, save New York, save the world.
It’s honestly really sad. They were created to be soldiers and while they chose to protect rather than destroy, they remain soldiers all the same.

I know about Sparkle's.... problematic attitude towards Aventurine.
But Dr. Ratio had a similar attitude towards Aven? Obviously not as bad as Sparkle... I guess he apologized? but it was still a micro aggression towards him...
Idk I guess the fandom decides to ignore that little detail about that Aven/Ratio interaction because yaoi.

I can't believe the writers/a writer would say that Gales suicide ending is the right one for him.
Him adventuring? Beautiful
Him becoming a housewife who knits and bakes? Gorgeous
Him becoming a professor and getting to talk about his passions all day to eager students? Brilliant
Becoming a God? Ugh, blegh, but a painful and understandable end for if his character doesn't receive the direction and support he needs
But what is the point of blowing up besides the tragedy of it? What makes it narratively the best? Nothing. I would argue it's the auto-win, lazy button pressing option (in world reasoning wise) like oh we couldn't figure anything else out or didn't try to, kill the wizard with the bomb and let's go have tea about it.
Like, it's tragic, but it doesn't have much of a lesson or a wrap-up to it. Sure like the God ending it means he doesn't get character growth, but he just also doesn't exist any more. Story over. Poof.
And I don't mind it being an ending- it has its place in the narrative if you wanna explore it, but I dont see how it should or could be the default or proffered ending for Gale Dekarios.
That writer should have not said that. Cause all it does is show that the writer had bias against a truly well designed character who has many more interesting endings than being a human bomb imho

While I'm annoyed with seeing Lemon Demon or Mother Mother in every second character playlist, i do rly despise public shaming of someone's character playlist because it's the most middle school bully behavior to me.
I do think making a public playlist should take time, dedication and careful picking of songs that fit a character. But not everyone does it for sake of posting it and claiming it as something brilliant. Sometimes its just bunch of favorite songs that remind you of a character. It's not that deep. I can't stand making fun of individuals for playlists they make - and simple solution is to just not look public playlists up if they make you so annoyed lmao. Make your own. Stop being a 12 year old.
