like, Caleb is a wizard who’s afraid of his own fire magic. his own power causes him to falter in battle. his strongest spells are his most dangerous to himself. wizards are supposed to be prideful of their magic, but Caleb’s is the reason he hates himself

Beau is a monk who never wanted to be. her job is one that people normally associate with being calm and collected and Beau was a wild rebellious kid who got dragged into this line of work against her will. she never wanted to be this!! but now she is and she’s gotta deal with it!!

Fjord is a warlock who never wanted power from his pact, which is why you’d think a warlock would make their pact at all. but no. Fjord made his pact because he wanted to live, not because he wanted power. he was a scared orphan who hated his tusks, not a buff, muscled, angry half-orc like people assumed

Nott is NOT, that’s the whole crux of her narrative! she wasn’t pretty, like a halfling girl was supposed to be. she wasn’t a goblin, she was just transformed into one. and not only that, but despite being a three-foot-tall alcoholic kleptomaniac, she’s the mom of the group!

Jester is a Cleric whose god isn’t actually a god and who would much rather bash bad guys over the head with her lollipop than have to stop and heal her friends!! she’s a bubbly, optimistic ray-of-sunshine, but you know when she says she’s gonna change the world with friendship she means it as a threat

Mollymauk is an amnesiac, but he doesn’t want to remember who he was. if you ask him, that wasn’t him! he might be a flirtatious hedonistic carnie, but he’s also single-mindedly devoted to making the world a better and more loved place than it was when he found it. he’s a liar, but he means well. he’s an arrogant fool, yes, but he’s right! he did it! he left it better!

Caduceus seems like he’d be creepy and grim from growing up in a graveyard, but he’s actually the most chill out of the entire Nein by far. he’s calm, he’s sweet, and he’s comforting, more than anything else. you’d think he’d be amazed by seeing the outside world for the first time, but he spends the whole time knowing that one day he’ll return home, that he wasn’t supposed to be the one to leave

Yasha is a barbarian with skeletal wings and a dramatic, monochromatic look, but she’s a complete sweetheart. she’s Molly’s best friend, she was a carnival bouncer, she’s a lesbian disaster who collects pressed flowers in a book out of love for the wife she lost. those black wings were actually hiding soft white feathers

Essek was born straight into the den of politics, he was a spymaster, he literally started a war for his own gain, and yet. he’s sounds irredeemable on paper, but. he’s not!! sure, the Nein kind of have to drag his alignment kicking and screaming into neutral, but they manage it. Essek learns and grows and he overcomes his nature. he becomes good, against all odds

My old art teach who taught me so much and helped me prepare my college portfolio now full on supportive of AI art and videos they even opened classes dedicated to it, they post oh so proudly of how fast the students in their ai class ‘improve’ and how ‘efficient’ they draw. okay, you have a stoic character. That's cool. But does your stoic character have something they learn is worth fighting for? Something that drives them to open up little by little until it consumes them in a way they can't understand but still don't want to let go? Does your stoic have a personality where the world could be crashing and burning around them and they will barely flutter an eyelash but if the people they love are even slightly in danger they will shatter inside and run to them? Completely disregarding their own safety? Because who are they without the people/person they love? Can they shoot a bullet through a man without remorse but will wither seeing their loved one(s) in any pain? Would they rather bear all the world's problem's on their shoulders for the rest of their life than even let a needle prick their beloved? Because they learnt what it meant? To love and be loved? And now they have something worth fighting for? That they would give up all worldly possessions for?

Wanting Will to be happy, when his arc surrounds his selflessness and how he’s constantly giving up himself, his happiness, for others, and how he deserves to have something

Wanting El to be happy when she obviously wants to be independent, when her arc is about family and not a relationship, when her arc is about growing into a person she wants to be (not hopper, not Mike, you.)

Wanting Mike to be happy, when his arc surrounds his guilt, and how he needs someone to need him in the same way he does them, and how El won’t ever fill that role

When Mike wants someone who needs him, and Will needs him

When Will needs someone who wants him, and Mike wants him

And when El and Mike can’t be what the other person wants

It seems obvious which way they’re gonna go

I need to get this off my chest so I can go back to studying real quick:

So me and my roommate have this constant thing we argue over, and it’s making this one dish (keeping this somewhat vague just in case) it’s a bit on the expensive side but we both love it, so we’ll splurge on it every now and then

Here’s the thing: I’m always the one that ends up making it

If my roommate buys the ingredients, I make it, if I buy the ingredients, I still end up making it!!!

And I’ve talked to them multiple times about how I really don’t like that, and they never actually change it

We’ll even have conversations about buying groceries and they’ll be like “oh we can buy ingredients for [that meal]” and I’ll tell them that I’m not really in the mood to cook all that, and they’ll act offended and be like “I never said you have to cook it, I’ll cook it” then we get the ingredients and they’ll bother me nonstop until I make it because they never actually had any intention of cooking

Well, today, I go shopping because we’re just out on a shit ton of things, and they’re like “if you buy the ingredients, I’ll make it, unless you wanna make it 🥺 because you always make it better 🥺🥺🥺” and I full on told them “I don’t know if I make it better, cause you never make it, and I can’t make it because I have two finals in the next two days, so if I get it, you’re actually making it this time” and they fucking huffed at me

Anyways, I bought the stuff, and they’re actually making it for the first time ever, but they had me walk them through all the steps??? I use a recipe I found online, this isn’t like a family recipe passed down through the ages, they can look at the website themselves??? And now they’re like huffing and stuff in the kitchen while making it

The whole thing just makes me feel crazy??? Also!! I didn’t even bring up buying/making the dish myself, they brought it up!! Completely unprompted!!!

I don’t understand why they keep bringing up making a dish they have no intention on making and then being mad that they’re now doing what they promised to do???

(I have bought the ingredients and only made some for myself in the past, but the dish just always makes enough for two people and it’s best when it’s fresh, so that’s why I don’t just completely go “never making it for you again”, also it’s,, expensive, so I really don’t have problems making it when they buy it)

It just makes me feel so crazy, I hate it, they suck all the fun out of this dish
