Benrey takes action that's “i knew this was gonna happen” #Benrey is fought as the final villain whereas Sans is arguably the final hero fight #anyways THEIR VIBES ARE BOTH SO !!!!!!!!!!!!! #idk if they'd be besties or mortal enemies #they can bond over being “unserious” (but they both take their true jobs very seriously. security guard and judgment bringer respectively)

procastinating at work but here's my philosophy for today: it's okay to hate a behavior in someone else but also understand that this behavior does not make them a bad person. like i HATE when i'm venting or talking about a serious problem i have and then the person i'm talking to starts trying to relate by talking about a similar experience they've had. like absolutely hate it. make me feel like the focus is being taken off me and it genuinely is in some ways, regardless of your intent. yeah, i understand that's your way of trying to comfort me -- but that's not the way i need or want to be comforted, and that's what matters in a situation where i'm coming to you to be helped.

and that's okay! like. no one is in the wrong here unless i have explicitly asked you to support me in a different way and you're intentionally refusing, or if i lash out at you when i could just disengage. it just means you're not a person i should go to for help when talking about my problems. we can still be friends, you and i can probably support each other in different ways, but we're just incompatible in this regard. and that's like....okay. it's okay to be incompatible with people.

hmmm don't think i could say i have a favourite, bc there's so much good stuff (plus im relatively new to them and still Exploring the kv world so haven't had as much time to establish them), BUT there is one thing that im really so so so very into and it's the idea of knives and vash only being capable of having sex with each other

i already mentioned it in this post, which pretty much says most of it really

but yeah i LOVE the idea of their bodies being incompatible with human bodies and rejecting them (in the case of flower genitalia, a closed bud that never blooms and opens, and in the case of a more regular genitalia situation, an unresponsive dick/hole, no erection, no lubrication, no gape. just the tightness of an unwiling opening. just the burn of desperate need against skin rubbed raw)

and along with the lack of bodily response, we have touches and gropes being discomforting, grating, painful at times, and always feeling so, so wrong, like their entire body is on edge, wrongness crawling all over their skin.

it's not that glaring of an issue for nai, who would not have sex with humans (more accurately: anyone who's not vash). but in vash's case, who lives among humans, i'd find it definitely is.

although, the thing is, their bodies dont even work for themselves. not being able to have sex is one thing, but they can't masturbate either, bc their bodies need the other's to react, they don't respond to their own prods and touches and pleas. no amount of personal desire can make their bodies react, not unless the other is there. (which would negate the above comment: it is an issue for nai too, who can't properly physically manifest his desire for vash) (i dont think a nai sexually repressed for 150 yrs could lead to good things...)

and well, it's all bc essentially, they are one. two halves of a whole, made from each other and needing each other to complete each other. they exist as one and no matter how much time they spend apart, how much they clash, the truth of the fact is carved into the makeup of their bodies.

Good news: Got the garden planted today. In approximately 4-8 weeks I shall enjoy bounteous harvests of fresh leek, peas, spinach, and several varieties of cruciferous veg.

Bad news: Forgot I was still recovering from pneumonia when I went about planting said garden. Currently back to being unable to move more than 10 ft at a time before my body shuts that nonsense down and forces me to rest.

But at least it waited til I was done, so.... Win?

#it was meh at BEST #the world building is boring and uncreative. the character 2 dimensional. all telling no showing. unimaginative writing #it's both so silly and so serious at the same time that i can't take the plot seriously. ppl die gruesomely all the time yet the mc is like #omg thus older dude looks hot af right now #also just the same tropes over and over. it's absolutely fine to use tropes every story does and they're well-loved for a reason. #but this one felt sooooo tropey. those moments didn't hit all. no emotional impact. it felt like the book was following a template too #closely or smth #it's saving grace is that it's a very fast-paced read. and it's like entertaining enough that you read through it easily #did not care for the characters at aaaallllll. especially the side characters felt so BLAND #and the mc being the most fragile person in the book but everything works out in her favor somehow and she becomes the strongest rider like #PLEASE this is so unoriginal 😭 why does she need to excel at what the norm is why can't she be good in what she actually cares ab and wants #mc also criminally uninteresting yet people are obsessed with her #if you read ya fantasy romance before this one just feels like a regurgitation of things you read before
