Comforting Love

The warmth of Jaime’s body under yours felt comforting. The panting had calmed down to slow breaths, Jaime’s body was so relaxed you would have thought he was asleep if it hadn’t been for the absent-minded shapes he was drawing on your shoulder and back with his finger. You had been in bed with Jaime only a few times since he had returned from his captivity by the Starks but it was enough to notice he preferred you on his left side. It was the dead of night and the only sound besides your breathing was the fire dying in the hearth and the beat of his heart under your ear. Jamie would have to wake early, early enough so no one would notice him leaving your chambers. You could hold up to a little scandal but Cersei’s rage was not something you wanted to be directed at you.

“What’s going on in that head of your darling” Jaime asks, running his finger up your neck to your temple and into your hair. Jaime had always had trouble with not moving.

In truth very little was at the forefront of your mind, in his presence, you were almost always more relaxed. But it was what lurked just behind conscious thought that you reached for. “I wish we could just lay together til noon, responsibilities and scandals be damned”.

“If only, but-”.

“I know,” you say, cutting him off. This was not a conversation that needed to happen again “It’s just a passing thought”.

Jaime remained silent for a moment before saying, “It… may not have to be”.

“How do you mean?” you ask, propping yourself up on your elbow to look in his face.

“Joffrey is planning to relieve me of my duties as a Kingsguard,” he says. He looks caught between sadness and annoyance. 

“But surely he can’t. Never mind don’t answer that, he’s the king, of course, he can”. Jaime smirks slightly. You made clear your annoyance at the boy king. Given that you acted as an advisor on the small council because of your family’s position you had a front-row seat to his tantrums.

“If that is the action Joffrey takes then my father will want me to return to Casterly Rock to lead,” Jaime says slowly like he’s trying to understand his thoughts.

“But that means…” you say. If you said it it would be real, your knight in shining armour would be halfway across the continent. 

“I’d have to leave you, unless, we were betrothed,” Jaime says as he desperately tries to sound casual. His eyes betrayed his emotion, they always did.

That shocked you, the words making their way through your head as realization crept in. Jaime had only ever talked about marriage in passing, as a far-off dream of running away before reality set in. This though, almost sounded like a… well like a proposal. Jaime must have taken your silence for rejection as he quickly backpeddled. “Not that that’s the only option of course I mean that even if you want to continue or Joffrey could keep me as a Kingsguard and this could all be for naught”. He was cut off by your finger shushing him.

“Jaime, darling, if that’s what it takes, that’s what I’ll do,” you say with a smile.

“So you want to be my wife,” Jaime says with a boyish grin. The light in his eyes that’s been rare since his captivity returned.

“Yes, it won’t solve every challenge we face but I would love to be truly your”.

“I love you,” he says. His hand comes to rest on your cheek as he slowly bends to kiss you. It’s a soft kiss, compared to his rough passion from earlier in the night. That was all lust and desire. But this kiss, his gentle hands, that’s pure love and comfort. It may not be easy, or safe, but you will love Jaime Lannister.

Inspired by Vere's artstyle being the TS artstyle, if Kuras birthday post is to be believed—

Aisvere modern!AU where Vere is a solo game dev and Ais is his FWB that Vere would reeeeally like to date, but he'd rather be fucked sideways and upside down before he was emotionally vulnerable.

So instead of saying anything to Ais, Vere copes by making a short dating sim with Ais as the love interest.

It's basically a vent piece, filled with all the nice, disgusting shit Vere can't do IRL (a fox has to have his pride), and all the sappy commitment shit he wishes Ais would say to him. And while Vere contemplates burning his computer once the game is finished, he instead opts to sell it, hoping to at least be compensated a few dollars for his months of pining-induced misery.

But, out of nowhere, it absolutely blows up.

Maybe it's because of Ais's sweet-and-spicy personality, or maybe it's because of his adorable love for his many unique pets. Probably it's because Vere has drawn Ais as accurately as he can, and Vere is an amazing artist, and Ais is hot as hell.

All of a sudden people are drawing fanart of Ais, writing imagines and headcanons about Ais, saying shit like "on the couch, on the floor, on the bed, backwards, forwards, till i pass out, while i'm unconscious, as soon as i wake up—"

Ais isn't actually a huge social media guy or a huge indie gamer, so it takes a while for him to see any of this. But see it he does, in the form of fanart of him railing somebody's OC. And I just know he texts that shit to Vere like "yo firefox don't this guy look like me lol" and Vere seriously contemplates offing himself just as soon as he figures out how to shut down the entire Internet permanently.

Wild that we got War of the Monsters in 2003 and we've just never had any giant kaiju/robot fighters like it since. You get shit like Gigabash and Dawn of the Monsters but they simply don't GET it. They don't come close to understanding why the gameplay in War of the Monsters was so fun and addictive. New age kaiju fighters don't understand the freedom of running around cities and destroying shit to prep for fights like war of the monsters did.
