#jokes aside #i really despise the model minority myth #it hurts asian people because it downplays their success by stating they achieved all that only because they belong to a certain group #it also puts unnecessary pressure on young people who just want to do their thing and are afraid of disappointing people #plus!! a lot of Asians actually ARE NOT doing well and racism still affects them #the myth may also sometimes suggest that (apparently) 'if asians can do that then maybe the other groups aren't as oppressed' #which..... my friend.......... 😐 #anyway I'm not pointing out anything new obviously I'm just rambling ugh #i should go to bed jeez it's like 5am #me #asian #model minority
