There's this song called "Bruno is orange" which is about a secret love shared between a Black man & a White Woman during the segregation era (or earlier), which includes explicit references to the way Black men, including young Black boys, are hypermasculinized & treated as inherently dangerous to White women while also being called "boys" & denied manhood, with the White woman desperately trying to hide her lover from jail because they were caught & facing targeted abuse. Towards the end of the song, the singing gets more desperate and erratic with chains banging to the beat, indicating that the Black man in the story was going to be jailed.
The top comment of the audio of that song is a White person saying "I know it's about a man and a lady but I'm going to pretend it's about lesbians". I hate White people.

(Love the sad gay Catholic dogs and your delightful commentary and perspective. I've had a good laugh recently with your watermark placement haha <3)

The expectations from everyone around him had been too much. His sister and teachers wanted him to be a good student. His friends wanted him to be the perfect hero. The town wanted him to be everywhere, all at once. And his parents wanted him strapped down to a table.
Danny couldn't take it anymore. It was all just too much. So he left. He disappeared, covering his tracks and only leaving a note to let everyone know he was okay.
He traveled a while before he eventually encountered some heroes investigating an occult crime. All he did was give them a little hint and suddenly they were all over him. He had panicked for a second. Memories of his suffocating past came to him. But to Danny's surprise, these heroes were more worried about him than anything. Something about the knowledge he possessed being dangerous.
It actually felt a little nice being worried over like that and before he knew it, Danny found himself tagging along with these heroes. Apparently they were called the Justice League Dark and their whole schtick was investigating the occult.
Danny had thought he was over the whole hero thing, but he didn't mind helping the JLD. There where finally capable adults in his life who protected him. Who cared for him. They never expected him to balance two contradicting responsibilities. Nor did they expect him to be their main heavy hitter when facing a threat.
For the first time since he had turned on that stupid machine, Danny was allowed to be a kid again. He was allowed to be annoying, to ask a million questions (no matter how dumb) and most importantly, he was allowed to have fun.
Being a hero with the Justice League Dark never felt like the world ending pressure he was under back home. They had even told him he was welcome to quit anytime! Not that he wanted to.
Sure, Danny felt guilty about never contacting his friends and family and letting them know how he was doing. But he was scared. Scared that they might try some way to force him back home.
He could never go back to that place, he just couldn't. To do that would truly crush his soul.

Father Derenik, deacon Hovhannes and deacon Arsen were the last 3 Armenians to leave their ancestral land of Artsakh. (source)
Armenians have lived in Artsakh for 25 centuries. And now, there are none left. The last 120 000 inhabitants were killed or forced to flee from their own land to escape their persecutor, who swore he would “hunt them down like dogs”.
Please, pray for the Armenians. And remember them.
Make noise. Share their stories. Protest, if you can. Do not let their suffering be swept under the rug. Let the world be ashamed for turning their back on them.
Remember the Armenians.

"It's normal for siblings to fight" Okay well it's not normal to be extremely classist and look down on your sister for being non-conforming. Or to go to the woman who ordered the death of your pet to tell her about your father's plans, when he specifically warned you against doing so, because you want to marry the boy you saw attack your sister and her friend (contributing partially to said father's death and your sister being unable to escape on the ship he chartered). Or to think of your sibling as unsatisfactory in comparison to another when you believe her to be dead. I notice that none of the "Sansa and Arya are going to reunite and instantly have no issues" crowd ever acknowledge any of this, which makes it seem like they don't actually believe what they say about their relationship being normal and easily reconciled. People wanting them to have no issues simply because they're siblings is another example of how fandom likes to flatten complex characters and relationships. They get reduced to being bickering siblings when their conflict runs deeper than that. If the author is telling you that they have "deep issues" to work out [X], I don't understand being so adamant about ignoring said issues. I also get the sense it's about ignoring the capacity for a certain character to be flawed, but that isn't going to change the fact that her "slip of the tongue" is very likely to be revealed and a source of further conflict 🤷🏾♀️

I can safely say that between Miguel and Astarion, the fandom is a whole lot worse with Astarion.
It's probably because, with Miguel, the hyperfixation might just be vapid and "oh, he's just the hot guy of the month", but since people who really fall hard for Astarion tend to have devoted a lot of time by playing the game, there is this gatekeeping tendency around his character that just breeds the most insane discourse.
And more often than not, it boils down to some attacking real people over a fictional character and treating him like a real person...

I really really need a reduction but I'm scared my boobs will be ugly and it will make my dysphoria worse. Idk why I'm telling you this but nobody really seems to understand :/
no, bc I COMPLETELY understand. something that stressed me out more than the money was the fear that I'd do all this work to get the surgery, and then my tits would look like dogshit. that feeling SPIKED again when I saw that first surgeon, who told me my tits sucked rather than telling me he didn't feel capable of performing a reduction on someone with Actually Big Tits. (his patient gallery was full of C-cups for the "before" photos.)
this is a real fear, bc some surgeons are just garbage. they don't care about the aesthetics of breast reductions. this doesn't have to be the case at all, there are lots of surgeons who actually care about helping you and getting you a result that's lighter/smaller AND still looks like a boob.
you'll need to commit to The Search, looking through patient galleries to see if they operate on people who look like you. but you Will find a surgeon with results you like, who's worked on breasts that are similar to yours, and then the fear will go away!!

Transcripts are not for the transcriber's jokes or text speech (if a character says "see you later", the transcripts better not fucking say "C U") or background info that isn't part of the audio. Transcripts are accessibility aids and should provide full and accurate text that matches the audio.
I'm sorry if this makes me a killjoy, but those little additions are really only fun for the transcribers; the people who actually need those transcripts just want to understand the show without getting distracted or confused by inaccurate transcripts.

I noticed you've been making more art of Machete and Vasco after they met again as adults - is this canon? Do they get to rekindle their friendship after all, or is it still brief and bittersweet? (I love your characters and art, btw!)
Thank you! I'm glad you like them!
It's canon, I believe. After their confusing and apprehensive friends-to-lovers involvement ended in their early 20's, their paths end up crossing again unexpectedly in their mid 30's and things gradually grow from there.
