pairing: isaac lahey x fem!reader
summary: something is finally done about the lingering feelings between you and isaac
warnings: none. it’s quite literally just fluff
Tumblr media
the bell rings dismissing you from your last class of the day. you walk out with malia by your side complaining about your teacher.
“malia, she’s just doing her job.” you chuckle
“i don’t care. she’s not making any sense when she’s explaining things and she’s the only one whose given us homework for the weekend.”
“that is true.” you mumble as you two stop at your locker
“it’s stupid.” she says rolling her eyes. she looks past you as you dig through your locker. a smirk takes over her face. “your boyfriend’s coming.”
you look up to her quickly, “what ?” she nods ahead as you turn to your left. your eyes widen as you see isaac coming toward you. “oh my god.”
“good luck.” she says. your head snaps to her. “what ? where are you going ?”
“away from here. the awkward flirting makes me nauseous.”
“wait, malia. please.” you beg
“no.” she mumbles, “isaac.”
you sigh as the boy stops beside you. he smiles lightly, “hey, malia.”
the girl hums before she walks off.
you and isaac had a little bit of a confusing relationship. you two weren’t dating, but it was obvious you liked each other. you didn’t really know what to make of it since he hadn’t asked you on a date or to be his girlfriend. it was just a little awkward whenever you two spoke to each other.
“uh, y/n ?”
your eyes shut tightly before you slowly turn to him. when your eyes open, you’re met with a smile.
“hey, isaac.” you say softly
“hey. how was your day ?” he asks
“it was good.” you nod. “uh, what about you ? how was your day ?”
“good. good.” he nods. you chuckle as you nod with him. “i actually wanted to ask you something.”
“okay.” you say as he starts digging through his bag.
“i wanted to ask if you’d wear my extra jersey to the game tonight.” he says as he pulls the jersey out. you brows raise as you look up at him.
“really ?”
“yeah.” he says scratching the back of his neck, “only if you want to though.”
of course you did.
“yes. yeah, sure.” you ramble
“okay. great.” he smiles wide as you take the jersey from him. “i’ll be sure to look out for you.”
his heart skips as you smile up at him. his blue eyes searching your face before he looks down at his feet.
•••
a couple of hours had passed and the game was starting soon. you sat in the bleachers with lydia and malia while isaac, scott, stiles, kira, and liam were out on the field.
you wore isaac’s jersey like he asked, but you put a long sleeve on under seeing as it was always cold in beacon hills. you also tied the end of his jersey around your waist since it seemed like it was huge on you.
“you know, wearing someone’s jersey basically means that you’re dating.” lydia says
“does it ?” you ask
“yeah.” lydia nods, “trust me. so many different guys have tried giving me their jerseys. it’s like showing other guys that you’re taken.”
you look down at the jersey, “oh.”
“so, he’s finally making a move.” malia says, “thank god.”
“is that bad to where you guys are hoping that we finally start dating ?”
“yes.” they both say. your mouth opens slightly as you try to respond, but you come up with nothing as the game begins.
you missed how isaac had looked into the bleachers for you. his eyes searching each row until they finally land on you. a smile instantly taking over his face at the jersey covering your body.
•••
the game was nearing the end with only a few seconds left on the clock. the teams were tied and you could see coach basically having an aneurysm on the sidelines.
you weren’t too much into sports. only going to the games because of your friends being on the team, but you were on the edge of your seat.
it’s not long before you see the boys running around on the field. your eyes looking for anyone on your school’s team to have the ball.
you gasp as the ball flies through the air and isaac catches. the students start to cheer in the stands as he runs toward the goal.
“go, isaac ! go !” you yell as the students cheer him on. unbeknownst to you, he had been listening to only your voice the entire game. so, out of everyone yelling at him and cheering him on, he only heard you.
you and the students in the bleachers stand as he gets closer to the goal. you feel your heart beat hard in your chest as the clock ticks down.
just as isaac tosses the ball toward the goal, the buzzer goes off. it’s quiet for a second before the ball goes in. isaac earned the game winning point.
the crowd erupts into cheers as the team runs over to isaac. you and lydia jumping up and down as malia cheers beside you.
a couple of people step off the bleachers into the field to celebrate with the team.
you, lydia, and malia make your way down the bleachers and onto the field. you guys spot stiles first. malia walking up and giving him a hug as you look around.
“he’s on the other side.” stiles says breathing heavily. you turn to him to see him already smiling at you.
“go get him.” lydia says tapping your arm excitedly. you chuckle at her before you make your way through the students.
isaac laughs as his team sets him down. he turns as his eyes scan the crowd for any sign of you.
“isaac !”
he turns and sees you pushing through some students trying to make your way to them. you dodge a teen running up toward a friend as he smiles at you.
as you run up to him, he holds his arms out. you two collide in a hug with your arms going around his neck and his around your waist.
he lifts you off the ground slightly causing you to laugh. he sets you down as you pull away, but don’t go far at all. your hands holding onto his arms as his stay around your waist.
“that was amazing. i’m so proud of you.” you smile
“thank you.” he says, before his eyes trail down, “you actually wore it.”
you look down before looking up at him with bright eyes. “yeah, of course. you wanted me to, right ?”
“yeah.” he nods, “you know, i couldn’t have done it without you.”
your brows furrow, “what do you mean ?”
“i was listening for your voice.” he says. your face softens, “while i was playing. it helped me focus.”
isaac searches your face for any reaction to what he said. he doesn’t expect you to lean up and kiss him, but he definitely accepts it.
you pull away slowly. your breathing a little heavy as you look up at him. “i really like you.”
his smile widens, “i really like you too.”
you chuckle as he leans in again, kissing you softly.

Always - Isaac Lahey
Summary: Your boyfriend Isaac Lahey always being your knight in shining armour
Pairings: Isaac Lahey x Reader
A/N: I been going on a teen wolf binge lately so I will be posting more teen wolf imagines. Sorry if its short. Hope you enjoy!
You never felt more pain in your life.
Lately it was like everything was going wrong.
You and your boyfriend went through a tough patch and he disappeared. You and the pack have been driving yourselves crazy trying to figure out what new threat is running around Beacon Hills. It seems like everything you were trying just wasn’t enough.
This is what led you to running through the woods. You ran. That’s another problem you always ran. Running was one of the few things that was able to completely empty your mind. You did it before you became a wolf and it is still one of your favorite things to do. For awhile you didnt think about Scott or Isaac, the killings, hunters. It was dangerous running through the woods with everything going on but it was a chance you were willing to take. Until you took the wrong step and stepped right into a bear trap. The excruciating pain knocked you off your feet unto the ground causing you to howl like your life depended on it. The pegs of the bear trap buried so deep in your skin laced in some type of herb probably wolfsbane that kept you from healing. Of course you didn’t have your phone so you couldn’t call anyone you just hoped that by howling eventually someone would hear you.
Desperately you tried to keep yourself together that if you calmed down you would figure a way out of the trap. There was no use to trying to pry open the trap. You hoped that someone would come save you from the trap and hoped they came before a hunter figured you were here. Your whimpers and cries could be heard in the woods. That’s when you heard multiple sounds of footsteps coming into the woods. "Nonono" you began to panic. That’s when you began to try to pry the trap together despite your best judgement.
"Y/n where are you"
You began to release a breath you didn’t know you were holding and began to laugh of relief. Somehow Isaac always found and saved you no matter what trouble you found yourself in. "Isaac I cant move" tears were still spilling from your eyes down your face. Even without clear vision from your tears you knew he felt guilt for what happened. "Just don’t move y/n. I got you okay. Im gonna get you out" He grabbed your hand taking some of your pain away before working to get you out of the bear trap. It wasn’t until you felt the bear trap snap open and release off your leg you felt relief. Your leg was still in awful pain but at least you werent trapped.
"You came for me" tears were spilling down your face not from the pain you still felt in your leg. Isaac sat down next to you. He held your hand rubbing circles on your skin "Love Im always going to come for you. Always. I love you. There isnt anything I wouldn’t do for you. I would rip this whole town apart if you wanted me to. I would never let anyone hurt you." He pulled you closer to him resting his forehead against yours. "Im so sorry about everything that’s been happening with us." you felt tears tracing down your face. You werent too sure whether they were yours or his but they were there.  "I love you Is. Im always going to love you through everything. Im always going to be here"

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ ❝ [GLASS TIES] ❞
request by lovely anon who loves isaac and pain. pairing: isaac lahey x reader. summary: isaac and you share the perfect summer fling. those ties don't last when summer ends. content warnings: mentions of sex and death. there's like a huge teen wolf spoiler but i mean the show is over for years now. word count: 1,4k+
Tumblr media
working during summer wasn't your ideal way to enjoy the warm days and freedom from school work, unfortunately the city library needed help and you needed all the extra crap possible to make your resume look nice, full and interesting for colleges, so you'd spend three afternoons a week helping nerdy teens and old ladies find the books they wanted, register it as they borrowed it and more recently, read to a group of children once a week.
it wasn't the worst job, it could be quite fun... but it was mostly just silence, quietness and a bit of boredom, you enjoyed having access to that many books, but even you got tired of reading after a while, so when the most beautiful guy you've ever seen waited for you to notice him, you were busy laughing at your phone like an idiot.
and he could've faked a cough or anything of the sort to call you out, but instead he decided to simply lean down and insert his head in between your face and your phone, looking directly at you as he did so and making you screech from the scare. "oh my god, what're you doing?"
"getting your lazy ass back to work, apparently." he's nonchalant, his smirk makes him annoyingly handsome, and you'd remember those eyes and those curls anywhere.
isaac lahey, a year older than you, blue eyes, golden curly locks, greek god possibly. you blinked quickly and shook your head, so nervous you couldn't even think of a comeback to his sneaky comment. "so-sorry, do you need help?"
"need a book."
"good, we have some of those here, yes." you found your breach to tease him and you took it without even thinking, trying not to panic as the words left your mouth. isaac enjoyed it though, laughing and nodding along.
"sure, yeah, sorry. werewolves, uh, the less... fictional the better." you're about the laugh it off, yeah right. but he was completely serious, if only a bit concerned about having to ask for those.
you nodded and thought for a minute, putting up key words on the system to see if you could find anything. "we have some really old ones in our more special section, but they can't leave the building. also i wouldn't call them non fictional... i mean, werewolves right?" you shrug, chuckling lightly and he's oh, extremely amused, genuine laughing and you're not sure why. "but uh... they're quite old and kinda damaged, so we don't really know what the purpose of it was."
you take him to the back of the library and shows him the two books you mentioned, they are big, old and dusty and isaac has the time of his laughing laughing at how much you were sneezing back there. "glad you're having fun, but lower your voice, funny boy." you whisper shaking your head disapprovingly, but your smile was too difficult to hide.
you go back to the reception after telling him the library rules again, thinking that would probably be it; but it wasn't.
he took the books to where you were working, taking the closest table to you. he would spend minutes on end just reading, looking beautifully focused, but then he would glance at you and catch you staring at him, isaac would then smile, tell you to go back to work as you told him to keep his voice down.
it was the most fun you had since the summer started.
Tumblr media
isaac went back to the library every day after that, shamelessly leaving if you weren't working until he memorized the days you would be there. he truly wasn't much of a library guy, but he enjoyed spending time with you there. it was quiet, much quieter than his mind and his life, but still, it wasn't boring, at least not for him.
after the first week the books didn't matter, not giving him much more information for what he was going through, making you blush though, that mattered a lot and he noticed he was quite good at it.
he was getting used to having girls looking at him more, but something in you stood out. he figured out soon it was simply the fact you've been secretly glancing at him even before he changed. turned.
you would make comments as he walked you home after your shift ended, and he knew you didn't even notice how endearing it was or how much of a tell it was, so not a bike guy anymore? or you gained some weight, right? like, not in a bad way, not that gaining weight is bad, you're just... stronger now.
isaac felt connected to you somehow because of that, you had no idea of what he was, or how bad his life was before, but still, you liked him even then, even when he was broken and you didn't even know him. knowing someone paid some attention to him back then gives him conflicted feelings, but most of them are good. warm. tender.
you make him feel soft. and normal. and wanted. and he knows he could've made his move on you much sooner, but oh, he enjoyed the pining, the blushing, the way you bit your lower lip and tucked your hair behind your ear whenever he complimented you. he enjoyed the teasing too much.
after he kissed your lips for the first time though, he figured out what he enjoyed more than the teasing.
you.
being a werewolf in a freak city meant he didn't always have the amount of time he wished he had to spend with you. but that summer, all the time he had at his dispose was spent with you. calling you, texting you, working with you.
he would take you to late night movies, bowling and ice cream, so terribly charming even when he awkwardly ended up meeting your mom after sneaking in and cuddling with you all night, she adored him. gave him a pass to sleep over as long as he didn't sneak in and the door to your room was always open.
you both followed the rules strictly, but your mom wasn't a light sleeper, so what started with you guiding his hand down your pants ended up with him taking your virginity. slowly, quietly, tenderly. he locked eyes with you and didn't glance away for one second that night. told you words that were probably too soon to be said.
the three words left your lips like a secret, matching his.
Tumblr media
things changed when summer ended, school coming at you in full speed.
and maybe it was your fault, with all ap classes, extracurricular, volunteer works you put yourself through, or maybe it was the naivety of not asking what you two were, of not labeling what you both shared before the outside world came into play.
or maybe it was isaac's fault, and the way his outspoken personality sometimes served as a shield to his secretive actions. whatever it really was, you would barely see each other at school, each with your own little friend group, different classes, you were lucky to catch him in the hallways, where he would smile at you and touch your hand lightly as if you two were a secret.
were you? not exactly, but isaac wanted to keep you away from the mess, away from the killing, the blood, the fear. he didn't want to taint what you both had, so the more you didn't have time, the more he got away from you, slipped from your fingers.
and before you could even fight it, try anything to keep him, there was allison.
laughing with him, touching his arms, knowing things about him you would never dream about, you could see it, even from afar, the eyes of two people who connected.
confidants.
it broke you. but you couldn't do anything about it, you felt like it was your fault, as if your oh so busy academic life pushed him away. you let him go, no more texts, no more looking for a glance and a soft touch pass the hallways.
for weeks it was almost like it never happened, like your life was ever the same, like it didn't change past summer. of course you would go through the texts you shared from time to time, shed a few tears and pretend to get over it. and it worked.
until he was at your door sobbing. bloody. completely lost.
allison was dead. and nothing would ever be the same again.

Isaac Lahey who works at a Christmas tree farm 👀
I was kicking my feet with excitement as soon as you sent this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been a long shift, and there were only so many Christmas songs that could be played on repeat before it began to drive a person mad. Isaac was cold through, his leather jacket not quite enough to keep him comfortable as he showed people around the farm, helping them pick out the perfect tree for their home.
He wasn't in a bad mood exactly, but as the day dragged on he wasn't exactly joyful. His feet hurt, and so did his cheeks as he forced a smile to everyone that walked by him. Every "happy holidays!" spoken in his direction was met with the same grin and a gentle wave, and at first it had felt honest, but now it was more like an act. He wanted to be at home, in the warmth of his bed, not surrounded by people.
That was of course, until you showed up. He didn't know why you made him nervous, or if the zoo bustling about in his stomach was rather a bad meal from earlier instead of the so called butterflies, but he felt something when he saw you. Something good.
"Hey!" you waved cheerily as you approached him. You were approaching him. oh god. "I want the best Christmas tree on this farm, where would I find that?"
Isaac was stuck for a minute, staring, until he saw a familiar face by your side. Lydia Martin, the redhead sending him a knowing look.
"Well, how big is your living room?" Isaac asks, trying not to sound as though he's scrambling for words.
"Average living room size I believe." there is a laugh with the words and Isaac grins at the sound of it. It's better than any of the Christmas music he's heard over the past month. Sweet sounding and hopeful.
"Right this way." Isaac leads you and Lydia off to some of the tallest trees, and watches as you look up at each one, inspecting them as though the decision is of the greatest importance. It is important to you that you find the perfect tree for your home. One's Christmas tree can make or break the Christmas spirit of those invited over, you believe.
"What'd you think of this one Lydia?" You ask your redheaded friend, who already has her own tree at home and isn't much interested in the outing. What she is interested in however, is the current presence of Isaac Lahey, in particular the way he is looking at you.
"It's a nice tree, a little the small side though." She glances to Isaac, "What are your thoughts?"
"My thoughts?" Isaac startles, eyes flickering between the two girls before him and the tree beside you all. "I think it's a tree—a good tree. Tall." He doesn't know exactly why you're having this effect on him, but he can tell Lydia is enjoying the show. She always did like to watch people squirm.
You're smiling, now not at the tree, but at him. "It is tall," you agree, "But is it tall enough?"
"Well you've gotta make sure you can still decorate the top of it, you don't want it to be too tall." He's slowly sliding back into normality, back into doing his job. He's watching you, and you're watching the tree. The slow nod of your head and the squint of your eyes tells you're deep in thought about this and when you finally turn back to him you seem uncertain.
"Are you sure it's tall enough?" you ask, knowing Lydia's opinion is different to your Christmas tree guide's. You have a step ladder for the tall parts of the tree to make decorating easier but you think if you go any taller it won't be of much use. Still, a tall tree is a good tree.
"Trust me," Isaac smiles, "it's tall enough."
And the crazy thing was you did trust him, and soon enough you were transporting the tree to the car. Lydia was only a little upset that you hadn't taken her opinion on board, but she was more so intrigued by the way Isaac stopped you before you could get into the car. He called your name, of which he had recently learnt from hearing Lydia speak to you, and jogged up to your side.
"Hey, I wanted to ask you something." His breath comes out in a fog from the cold, his cheeks tinted a light pink, and the look on confusion on your face is masked by the sweet smile you'd shown him before.
"Yeah?" you seem to know where this is going, courtesy of a glance from Lydia on the other side of the car.
"I was wondering if I could get your number? Maybe we could get a coffee sometime, if you're interested?" He's nervous, but trying not to be. Playing it cool is his specialty, or at least he thought it was. Now he's not so sure.
A gentle laugh leaves your lips, but not in a mocking way. You're glowing, sunlight covering you, though that could just be his imagination. "Sure, I'd love to." You pull out your phone and Isaac does the same with his own, and the exchange of digits is fast.
"I'm Isaac by the way." Isaac extends a hand to you after you've put your phone away, and you take it, giving his hand a firm shake.
"Pleasure doing business with you, Isaac. I'll see you soon." You let go of his hand and send him a wink before opening the passenger side door to the car.
"Yeah, see you soon." Isaac parrots back as you slide inside, the car starting as you go to leave the farm. It had been a long shift, but Isaac felt hopeful now, and as another Christmas song began to play over the speaker, he decided to sing along.

I hope you like it Gillian, Merry (late) Christmas!

✎  masterlist
it was supposed to be a nice, regular date with isaac after not seeing each other in a week. finals week was a bitch, and you had a habit of shutting yourself off from the world during it. and whether you meant to or not, you included isaac. every time he’d called in the last week you’d said you were busy with studying.
so right as the dismissal bell rang on the last day of testing, he was at your locker. he’d basically made you shove everything in and leave it, doing his best to get your mind off of school for winter break.
and you drove out to the woods for some alone time and an early drive-thru dinner.
as soon as he leaned over to kiss you, you knew this wouldn’t be a regular date.
it wasn’t long before the two of you were in the backseat of his car with you on top of him. he didn’t fit well back there, so his knees pressed against the backs of the front seats, giving you something to sit on.
but you knew this would happen. sure, you didn’t anticipate him driving you out to the woods, but you had a good feeling the two of you would fuck tonight.
so you wore his favorite skirt — a knee-length dark red one, which was tight around your waist so it could show off your hips. it gave him easy access, and allowed you to skip the awkward stage of shimmying off a pair of pants while on top of him. on top you had a low cut shirt, which you’d had covered with a sweater most of the day.
your body was for him, and you didn’t want anyone else looking.
one of his hands laid on your ass cheek, the other held your face still where he could kiss your neck. you wanted to kiss him, though, so you tilted his chin upward to connect your lips.
“i’m sorry for ignoring you for a week,” you mumbled into his mouth.
“it’s okay.”
you felt a pair of fingers push your underwear to the side and settle on your clit, causing you to moan loudly. along with not seeing isaac for a week, you hadn’t touched yourself either. you always tended to be more sensitive when it’d been awhile.
“you’re already soaked,” he said, looking up at you with heart eyes, admiring the way your face twisted and contorted from pleasure under his touch. “all this for me?”
“who else could make me this wet?”
it was his turn to moan, his being more guttural and excited.
you reached down and undid his jeans as his fingers continued to work, causing you to struggle a bit. but when you reached into his pants and wrapped your fingers around his hard length, he faltered and stopped for a few seconds. you hummed in satisfaction before he slid two fingers into you.
your hips involuntarily ground into his hand, your eyebrows dipping down and forming a crease between them. his fingers were long, and they could reach places in you that you never knew existed before he came around.
“shit,” you whispered, quickly placing your palm against his wrist. he looked at you with a bit of worry in his eyes. “i love your fingers, but i want you inside of me. please.”
you didn’t realize how needy you were after only a week, but he didn’t care. you reached behind you and opened the middle console of the car, pulling out a condom. you tore it open and rolled it onto his length for him, causing him to take in a sharp breath.
without hesitation, you lined him up at your entrance and looked him in the eye before sinking down, filling yourself up and holding your breath. he mumbled a ‘god’, his fingers pressing into your hips.
you took the lead, grinding and bouncing with such speed that you were rocking the car. you were dizzy from the pleasure and his tongue tracing circles on your carotid artery only added to that.
fucks, shits, and gods filled the air, adding to a perfect harmony with moans, whimpers, and pants that was enough to make aphrodite and eros themselves shudder.
most of the time when you and isaac fucked you were afraid he would rip right through you. you could feel yourself stretch as much as humanly possible and the tip of his cock pressing harshly against your cervix, but right now that would-be discomfort only added to the pleasure coursing through your veins.
he spread his legs a bit more so your movements weren’t so limited and keeping your ass from landing so harshly against them.
he slid his hand up between your shoulders and pulled your chest to his mouth, allowing him to press sloppy hickeys to your skin. but that position change caused friction against your clit and made your legs tremble, and you could immediately feel yourself that much closer to your orgasm.
“fuck, isaac,” you gasped, digging your nails into his shoulders. he absolutely loved hearing his name come out of your mouth during sex. it was one of his top turn-ons — knowing that he was the one making you feel this good. that he was making you cum, making you moan and cry out. no one else, him. that you were his, all his, and everything he did made you feel good.
“tell me how good it feels.”
“so good. gonna cum soon.”
“yeah?” you nodded at his question. “you gonna cum for me?”
“yes,” you cried, picking up your speed to inhuman levels. “fuck... please.” you didn’t really know what you were pleading for as you were the one on top, but you knew he loved hearing you beg, hoping it would help push him over the edge.
he used his other hand to reach up and pull your hair, tipping your head back and giving him full access to your throat. and that was when you crumbled apart. you subconsciously switched to grinding against him instead of bouncing, giving special attention to your clit and allowing him to hit your g-spot.
tears slipped down your temples and into your hair, your legs shook hard enough to hurt, and the noises leaving your mouth only made him smile.
you rode out your orgasm, resting your forehead against his as you caught your breath. hums of ecstasy were the only sound you could muster as you looked at him.
“you good?” he asked with a smile, to which you nodded.
“did you finish?”
he shook his head. “almost.”
immediately, your hips were moving up and down again, and your lips found their way to his jaw.
“isaac,” you whispered, “be a good boy and cum for me.”
another one of his turn-ons? you talking to him like this. like you were a teacher asking him to do his best on a paper, or like you were a dog trainer gently teaching a puppy tricks, which was sort of ironic.
and it really worked. his fists squeezed your shirt into two balls, doing his absolute best to not do the same to your hips.
his head fell back and rested against the top of the seats, his eyebrows slowly raised up his forehead, and his hips began bucking. and elongated ‘f’ slid off his bottom lip, and you watched with a cocky grin as he came hard into the condom.
you continued kissing his neck as he caught his breath.
“goddamn,” he mumbled, letting go of your shirt and slipping his hands under it instead, gently stroking the skin with his thumb. he tilted his head upward again so he could look at you. “god, i love you.”
you weakly chuckled, pushing his now slightly sweaty curls off of his forehead.
“i love you,” you responded. “and i missed you.”
“i missed you more.”
your smile only grew as you leaned down to give him another kiss, this time deeper and sweeter.

Full Masterlist | Teen Wolf Masterlist
Summary: You and Isaac have been together for two years. You had your fair share of ups and downs, but lately, it seemed that these little 'ups and downs' repeated themselves no matter the apologies. You tried to convince yourself that nothing was happening, but part of you knew that that wasn't the case. With the help of your older brother, it took just one discussion to understand what was going on between you and Isaac Lahey.
A/N: I don't know if I like this one very much. I had a bit of a hard time trying to write this one, so I'm hoping it's not confusing. Enjoy!!

"You can't just admit that you were wrong, huh?" Isaac said, his arms crossed. After seeing a movie with Scott and Kira, an argument had spurred involving something pretty stupid. My boyfriend's motorcycle was almost out of gas. I recommended going to a gas station near the theater so we could just head to my house after.
My knuckles were bruised like violets Sucker-punching walls, cursed you as I sleep-talked Spineless in my tomb of silence Tore your banners down, took the battle underground And maybe it was ego swinging Maybe it was her Flashes of the battle come back to me in a blur
Isaac insisted on going to the gas station a little bit a ways. That caused us to be stranded on the side of the road. "None of this is my fault. If we had just stopped at the gas station like I said, we wouldn't be stuck on this street," I said. He rolled his eyes when I gestured to the road.
A few cars passed, not bothering to ask if we needed help. I grabbed my phone to call Derek. Neither of us felt like involving a tow truck. "What're you doing?" Isaac asked. "Calling Derek," I clicked on my brother's contact. It rang for a few seconds before my brother picked up on the other end.
"You two were supposed to be home ten minutes ago," Derek said. I could tell that he was aggravated. Before leaving for the double date, my brother offered to stay up until we got home. I insisted that that wasn't necessary, of course, he did it anyway.
Isaac leaned against his bike with his arms crossed. He set his hands into his leather jacket, looking both ways on the street. "We're stuck on Martin Street," I said. Derek stopped what he was doing. I heard a pan hit the corner of the kitchen island. "What?" he said.
"Somebody decided not to get gas," I remarked, glaring at Isaac. Isaac scoffed and shook his head. Derek sighed on the other end of the line. "I'm on my way. Hang tight," he said. He hung up the phone. I dropped my cell phone into my purse, going back to hug my arms from the cold.
I stood beside him. His eyes were focused on the damp grass. He watched a few of the drops fall to the side of the green blades. I looked up at Isaac's expression. His brows were furrowed, small creases forming at the top of his forehead.
The two of us had been arguing more than usual. It seemed like we could never settle on something. Just last week, we had an argument about who should help Scott with something. Isaac wanted me to stay with him whereas I wanted to help Scott. Then, an argument sparked.
We haven't talked about that since last Thursday. The more days that passed, the more I worried our two-year-long relationship was ending. Peter liked to call arguments in relationships 'the great war.' I never really understood it.
All that bloodshed, crimson clover Uh-huh, the sweet dream was over My hand was the one you reached for All throughout the Great War
Isaac's hands gripped the bike's seat. I debated on setting a hand on top of his, wanting to reassure him that everything would be okay. "Why didn't we just call a tow company?" Issac spoke. He took his hands off the bike so I couldn't hold him. "We'd probably have to pay a fee or something," I said. Isaac nodded.
He looked like he wanted to debate my statement but decided against it. I opened my mouth to speak but was stopped by headlights heading in our direction. I turned to the left and saw Derek's truck. He got out of the truck.
"I've got some gas at the loft. Isaac, we can fill it up when we get there," Derek said. Isaac nodded. The two grabbed Isaac's bike and put it into the bed of the truck. Derek must've noticed the tension between me and Isaac. I went to step into the front seat but was stopped when Derek wrapped his hand around my wrist.
Always remember Uh-huh, tears on the letter I vowed not to cry anymore If we survived the Great War
He looked at me with raised brows, expecting an answer. "It's fine," I said. "Doesn't look fine," Derek let go. I fixed my purse and glanced at Isaac. Isaac sat in the back seat with his arms crossed, his head resting against the window. "It's nothing," I insisted.
Derek dropped it. I got into the front seat and he began driving home. It was quiet during the car ride. Derek occasionally changed the radio until he decided he got tired of listening to music. Though, I'd much rather listen to the radio than sit in silence. I was so happy to see the loft come into view.
After a few minutes, Isaac's bike was filled up with gas. Isaac decided to stay the night since it was already so late. Derek said his goodnight and went to his room. I laid awake with Isaac beside me, his back facing me. Isaac hadn't spoken to me since we got home. I watched his shoulders rise up and down as he breathed.
My mind kept returning to our past arguments. I ran a hand over my face, trying to push the images away. "Isaac, are you asleep?" I whispered. "Trying to," he replied, his voice muffled from the pillow. He flipped so his back was against the mattress. I rested my hands underneath my head, propping me up slightly.
"Are we breaking?" I asked. Isaac's brows furrowed at my question. He sat up, now leaning up against the headboard. "Because I feel like we are," I claimed. Isaac ran a hand through his hair before lowering his hand. He took my hand into his. "Isaac, I can't help but think that these past arguments are catching up to us," I said.
You drew up some good-faith treaties I drew curtains closed, drank my poison all alone You said I have to trust more freely But diesel is desire, you were playin' with fire
Six months ago, Isaac and I had disagreed with something, causing us to shout out accusations. I pulled away, afraid that it might happen again. I guess that should've been a clue that it might. His face softened. Isaac shook his head, letting my hand go. Maybe he didn't want to think about it? Or, maybe he just didn't want to admit it?
And maybe it's the past that's talkin' Screamin' from the crypt Tellin' me to punish you for things you never did So I justified it
"We're not breaking," he shook his head again, "If we were, I wouldn't be laying in bed with you. And I wouldn't have stuck with you for this long." He grabbed my hand, kissing my knuckles. Isaac looked at the chipped nail polish on my fingers. I sat up in the bed, my shoulder brushing against the pillow and headboard.
Isaac looked at every spot on my face, settling on a small scar on my cheek. He ran a finger over the scar, leaving his hand on the side of my face. I leaned into his touch. "I don't want to be a survivor of this great war," I said, "I don't want these arguments to continue. I want to fix this, I want to fix us." Isaac kissed my forehead.
He put his arms around me, bringing me into his chest. Isaac laid back down with me beside him. "There's no fixing us. We're okay, love, we're okay," Isaac mumbled. I knew I should believe him, I know I should, but there's a little voice inside my head that says I shouldn't.
_________
(Three Days Later - In the School Parking Lot)
Isaac followed me to my car, yelling. I brought out my keys. "Holy shit, Isaac. It wasn't that deep," I argued. I threw my backpack into the backseat. I opened the driver-side door, setting my water bottle and keys into the cup holder. I looked at him over my shoulder. "Oh don't give me that fucking look Y/N," he spat.
All that bloodshed, crimson clover Uh-huh, the bombs were close and My hand was the one you reached for All throughout the Great War
I was taken aback by his choice of words. My expression changed immediately. "I didn't do anything wrong," I said, "I was talking to Aiden, there was nothing there." Isaac scoffed, following me with his eyes. He grabbed my wrist but I yanked my arm out of his grasp. "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you trust me?" I said.
He nodded in response. Isaac shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Do you? Because lately, it doesn't feel like that," I replied, "Y/N do this, Y/N don't do that. Y/N you shouldn't talk to him, you shouldn't talk to anyone other than me. Y/N, stop telling me what to do." I felt people's eyes on us, but I didn't pay any attention to them.
Isaac noticed small tears begin to form. "It's like you don't trust me anymore," I said, "It's like you've fallen out of love, and I have no idea why." He thought to himself for a second, not knowing what or how to say it. I waited for what felt like forever before getting into my car.
"Wait, Y/N/N," Isaac held the car door. I tried ripping his hand off the frame, but he was stronger than me. "I haven't fallen out of love for you," Isaac said. "Then, what is it?" I asked. His mouth opened, but no words came out. "Nothing? Absolutely nothing?" I continued, "Not one word?"
His eyes dropped to the concrete. I wiped a tear and got into my car. I was able to shut the door just as Isaac let go of it. He watched me pull out of the lot.
________
(Later That Night)
The TV played one of Derek's favorite reality shows. I yawned with my head against the couch cushion. Derek had gotten back from god knows what. All I knew was that he brought home groceries. He sat beside me, eating some mac n' cheese Peter surprisingly made.
Derek nudged my shoulder, noticing that I had been quiet all evening. "What's wrong?" he inquired. "Nothing," I replied, not taking my focus away from the show. Derek paused the show and set the remote on the armrest.
"Y/N, I think you forget that I'm a werewolf," Derek said, resting an arm on the back of the couch. "Isaac and I are arguing. Like, nonstop," I informed. Derek's brows narrowed in confusion. He always thought that me and Isaac were okay.
But I guess looks can be deceiving. He motioned for me to continue. "I honestly don't even know why," I shrugged, "One month, we just started disagreeing on every single thing. And, I've searched my mind for any damn reason, but nothing speaks out. I have tried desperately to think what Isaac might be thinking. When I ask, I get the same answer."
Derek nodded as I spoke. I wiped a stray tear away. I hated crying in front of people, especially in front of the person who would quite literally kill anyone who got in my way.
It turned into something bigger Somewhere in the haze, got a sense I'd been betrayed Your finger on my hairpin triggers Soldier down on that icy ground Looked up at me with honor and truth
"Derek, it's changed," I looked at him. His face fell at the state of my eyes. "I feel like I should break up with him," I added, "Because I can't continue thinking that everything is going to end right then and there. I can't continue arguing with him, it just breaks me and Isaac."
Broken and blue, so I called off the troops That was the night I nearly lost you I really thought I had lost you
Derek nodded again. He opened his arms, gesturing for me to hug him. He gave me a reassuring squeeze. Derek let go of me, his hands resting on my shoulders. "You can try to piece everything together, maybe say a little prayer, even," Derek said, "But there's no victory in this. Just like you said."
He paused and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. Derek fixed my t-shirt before continuing. "It's not fair to either of you. Those terrible moments that the two of you have are embedded in your relationship. You can't go back, neither of you can. You've said things that can't be returned," Derek finished.
Derek kissed my forehead and gave me a much-needed hug. For the rest of the night, we talked about my situation and watched the rest of his show.
________
(The Next Day, at the loft)
After last night's talk with Derek, I decided to call Isaac over. He was happy that I called him since we hadn't talked since yesterday. Isaac sat in front of me with his hands sitting in his lap. He stared at me (GIF Above) as I played with my fingers, chipping off the polish.
Isaac reached an arm out and took my hands. I looked up at his eyes, feeling like there was some part of him that knew what was coming. And then, I began to regret what I was about to do. I still loved him, and he still loved me.
"Isaac," I cleared my throat, "I've thought this over and over again, but I can't think of a better way to tell you this." I let go of his hand, going back to picking at the chipped nail polish. Isaac nodded and sat up in his spot.
To that bloodshed, crimson clover Uh-huh, the worst was over My hand was the one you reached for All throughout the Great War
Isaac let out a heavy sigh, nodding his head. "I know," he said, "I know what you're about to say, Y/N. You don't have to say it." I looked away from the ground, feeling his eyes land on me. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, but it slowly faded. "You shouldn't regret it," Isaac said.
Uh-huh, we're burned for better I vowed I would always be yours 'Cause we survived the Great War
"I'm sorry," I said. "Why're you sorry?" he replied. Isaac's voice was soft and gentle as he spoke. "Because I hurt you," I croaked, swallowing the lump in my throat. Isaac shook his head and hugged me tightly.
"We hurt each other," he clarified, "But I'll always love you, Y/N. I hope you know that." I nodded with my head against his chest. He set one last kiss on my head.
I would always be yours 'Cause we survived the Great War Uh-huh I vowed I would always be yours

“Are you nervous?” Y/n asked tilting her head up to look at her boyfriend.
“Yeah.” Isaac answered with a shaky breath.
“Why? You use to play. What feel’s different?” Y/n asked with furrowed brows hoping she could help him out.
“I haven’t played since I left for France.” Isaac told her looking at her with nervous eyes.
“Muscle memory. Don’t sweat it, Lahey.” Y/n shook her head lightly telling him not to worry.
“I can’t do this.” Isaac said after staring at his Jersy laying on his bed.
“Yes, you can.” Y/n encouraged him with a smile.
“Y/n, you don’t understand. You’re a Hale.” Isaac shook his head letting out a sigh.
“That doesn’t make me invincible. My last name doesn’t make me fearless.” Y/n gave him a light smile while biting her lip.
“Yeah, and what does Y/n Hale fear?” Isaac asked he hated how harsh it came out. He didn’t mean it.
“Losing people is at the top of that list… I lost more than half my family when I was little. I barely remember my mom’s face and I don’t remember what she sounded like. I’m afraid to lose Derek and Peter. I’m afraid of losing all my friends. I’m afraid of losing you.” Y/n spoke in a very quiet and slightly shaky tone.
“I’m not going anywhere.” Isaac walked over to her where she sat on his bed and pulled her into his chest. She smiled up at him gratefully.
“Enough of this sad mushy stuff. Let’s get you your lacrosse playing Mojo back.” She laughed at her own choice of words, wanting to change the subject.
Isaac raised his brows in question. “How do you suppose we do that?”
“I have a few ideas.” Y/n wiggled her eyebrows.
“Oh?” he smirked
“Hmmmm. And we’ll be done before you have to get to the game.” Y/n hummed, licking her lips.
Isaac laughed looking at her with surprise. “That’s in 2 hours.”
“Plenty of time.” Y/n leaned up to kiss him before pulling him down on top of her.

Art of Seduction: Isaac Lahey
Character: Isaac Lahey
Universe: Teen Wolf
Warnings: Smut, kinky, cheating
It was the small gestures, his lingering glances, whenever I stood up or just when I tried to follow our teachers, biting down on my pencils. I never thought anything of it. Except for him making fun of me in a friendly manner. Because that is what we always were, friends.
He was the only one standing at my side after I came out publicly. Strong besides my parents. Not even my sister wanted to have anything to do with me anymore. Even though I always did everything for her. She was my little bean, my little sister, why shouldn’t I? But since then, I left her alone, just as she did with me.
The reasons why I never suspected it to be more than friendly banter. And he used it to get them undetected by most and especially me.
His banter sparked rumors. People saw Isaac being near me all the time, but lately, he had to touch me, always. It did not matter where we were. Again I thought nothing about it. He became more protective of me lately but that was it. He knew about my crush on Sean Walcott since I told him he was that way, most likely just to protect me.
I never thought that the rumors could be anything near true because he was in a relationship with Allison, the ex-girlfriend of his best friend and ex-lover. What exactly happened there, I never had the slightest idea, because I did not really care about any of this. Not until that party that Lydia had thrown. I could not even remember what we had celebrated but it was wild. But what shocked me to the core, opening my eyes was Isaac himself. He had found me upstairs. Where I tried to find Sean. Before I could even greet him, he had pushed me against the wall.
My eyes grew wide, looking shocked into his dialed ones from all the alcohol he had chugged down. His head was slightly swaying from side to side. His right arm, that before was slammed right beside my head, slowly went to my cheek. As his big hand cupped my left cheek, I finally realized that something was off. His fingers caressing me lovingly. „You have no idea… idea how much-much I want you!“ Before his drunken, slurred words, could even sink in, his lips were already on mine. Tasting the vodka and strawberries on his curved lips. The biting smell of the alcohol itself, almost made me sick.
Trying to get him away from me, was the hardest thing I have ever done. He was so much taller and stronger than me. But luckily his drunken state weakened him greatly. With one good push after trying to punch him to stop, he finally let his left arm far enough from the wall, that I just could slip away, running down the stairs, right past Lydia, who could after me. For a moment I could even hear her running behind me. But as I became faster, she just stopped.
For the entirety of the night I pondered with myself if I should tell Allison, I mean theoretically, Isaac cheated on her with me. I would want to know if my boyfriend would’ve done that to me.
Around noon, I called her, to tell her what happened just for her, to scream at me. „Isaac already told me, that you would try to lie to me. The cat is already out, he told me that you love him and tried to seduce him, trying to take advantage of his drunken state! You are sick, stay away from us!“
Flabbergasted, I just stared at my phone, as she hung up on me. Not able to make much sense of what she had screamed at me, I tried to call Lydia, but she did not pick up. And no one else, I once called my friends.
As I came into school the next Monday, nobody looked at me as they once did. The lies Issac had spread, were all over the school. I became a social piranha.
Anger began to boil hot in my veins. After the first bell had gone off, I wrote a piece of paper and slipped it into Isaac’s locker. Just to get into class and get verbally abused by half the class, in snarky side comments or disgusting depiction of my supposed character under their breaths.
The entire day it was the same game. Nobody stood beside me, my little sister even being one of the worst ones. Even Sean, with whom I had flirted for a while and even had picked out a day for a date, wasn’t better. Throwing degrading things at my head, calling me names. It was humiliating. But I showed nothing else but a smile.
In the early evening, as my sister was still in cheerleading practice and my parents were still working, I waited angrily on Isaac. I knew that he would come. Either to put even more salt into the wound or to explain himself.
And Just as I thought he came even earlier than I wanted him to. He came through the back door because he couldn't be seen interacting with me anymore, right?
Coming into my room, he brought the smell of the forest with him, a smell I almost loved but on him it was disgusting.
„Why, Isaac? Why did you do this to me?“ I asked him, as he nicely closed my door behind him. He was obviously taken aback, by my sudden direct question.
„I don’t know what you mean.“ His stance is defensive, just as you thought.
„Oh really, telling your little girlfriend, that I tried to seduce you? I remember you pushing me against a wall and kissing me! I tried to get away from you, the moment it happened!“, I almost screamed at him. At that point, I was already standing in front of him. My finger poked harshly into his chest. After a couple of good and hard ones, he took my hand in his, squeezing it. „Are you finished? No one believes you! You have no one, so just accept it. Maybe if you do what I tell you, I help you out a bit.“ A smug, but at the same time, a disgusting grin on his once innocent face.
„You planned that?“
He scoffed at my realization. „Of course, I knew you would run to Allison. I can’t have anyone knowing that I prefer guys and neither can Scott. So you shut your pretty little mouth. Do what I want from you and I might be willed to forgive you publicly.“ He graciously offered me, still with this sick grin of his. „But you stay away from Sean, or I need to completely destroy you, understood?“
At that point, his free hand was around my throat, and one of his fingers propped up my chin, so I had to look into his ocean blue deep eyes.
„I asked if you understood me? It is a small price and I promise to treat you right, like. You belong to me no one else.“
„You did it to have me? Why didn’t you just leave Allison and asked me out?“
A slap was the only answer I got from the boy I trusted with everything. „Are you dumb or deaf? I can not be associated as a faggot, if I want to be an athlete. This will stay between us, or do I need to prove to you, that I don’t make any empty threats?“
His hands now choking me instead of just simply holding me in place. His right hand, which he had used to slap me, pulled my hair, back so he could see my eyes the entire time.
We both could feel, how my body began to weaken, as it had to work with less and less oxygen in my system. Just before I lost consciousness he let go of my throat, throwing me on my own bed.
Hastily, almost brutally ripping my clothes off of my body. „God how much I wanted to use your perfect small body. Ravish it, and mark it as mine. Do you want that, be my little secret whore?“
Surprisingly I answered him with a willing whimper. „Please sir“, I whispered almost silently. Shellshocked Isaac did nothing. Just saving the moment. As he finally came back to his senses, he laid his taller body over mine. „Say it again, say it you want it.“
„Please sir, fuck me, breed me, make me yours!“, I told him more forcefully. Seconds later I could already hear his fly opening. Two of his fingers in front of my mouth. As I opened it, he shoved them in greedily. Only to push both of them into my ass, a moment later. „God, you are tight, are you a virgin? Was Sean not man enough for you, that you so willingly gave yourself to me? You dirty little whore?“
Issac was everything but gentle, almost ripping me in half as he finally entered me. He had no patience and just wanted to finally feel my body. His hands wandered all the time up and down.
It did not take long for him to spill into me. „Next time it will be longer. Don’t worry.“ Just after that, he closed his fly again, leaving my room and house a minute later.
My ass was sore, just as every single muscle in my body. I felt used and abused. But not without a reason. Even though I wished my first time with someone else and more gentle. The reason I gave it up, had a bigger reason.
But for the moment I was just too exhausted. I fell asleep not even five minutes later. Awakening in the night, full of anger, but also an unholy amount of satisfaction. Getting over to my computer, I already could see the video feed of the cameras I had mounted all over my room.
The next hour I cut it together, so everything was shown, except the sex part. After getting it to my phone, I shot Isaac a message: „What would the people say, if they find out what you did? Lying to them, using me, and even hitting me, after all, you have done to me?“.
It took a couple of hours, but as I finally received his answer it was glorious. „What do you want?“, read the message he had sent back.
„I want you to tell everyone that you cheated on Allison with another girl and did not want her to find out, but also not that the girl gets slut shamed, so you fabricated a lie. Then I want you to break up with Allison because she blew it out of promotions and at last I want you to go to Sean and tell him, you lied because you feared that he would steal me away from you. That I was your rock and best friend. If Sean apologizes to me and goes out with me, I want you back at my house after school.“
To come into school that day, was like a warm spring breeze, refreshing. Dozens of other students run up to me to apologize and make Isaac the bad guy, which he of course was, but you shut that down. „He just feared that it could backfire. I don’t hold a grudge. Everyone makes dumb decisions.“
Which catapulted you onto a pedestal, making you almost a saint, in people's eyes. On the other hand, it made my eyes look even worse than before.
Sean came at the end of the day too, crawling by your feet, begging for your forgiveness. Just as with Isaac you granted it wholeheartedly. Already plotting your next move. But for now, you have to set things straight with Isaac. Maybe you can profit from it both. And Sean already deserved his fate too.

Tumblr media
Isaac Lahey was not supposed to get this far. No, really, he wasn’t.
The way he thought about it, the way he has always thought about it, Isaac was destined for an early grave. That’s what it means to be anything but human, after all, to know that your life is on the line every single time you draw breath. Isaac always assumed that a hunter or other rival werewolf would get him at some point, so he never much bothered with making future plans. Why think about the life you could have if you know you’ll never be able to stick around long enough to make it real?
So, when Isaac blinks one day and realizes that he’s only a handful of years away from thirty, long out of high school and somewhat distant from his college graduation, he has to take a moment or two to steady himself. This is defying the odds to the max. Isaac was meant to die the second he received the bite, and yet somehow, he hasn’t. How do you go about your normal life with a declaration like that?
It is enough to drive anyone a little mad, but fortunately, Isaac has a fairly good support system set up to keep him from losing it. He still stays in contact with the Beacon Hills clan, even if he doesn’t see them all that often anymore. Most of Scott’s pack still stays on the west coast, pretending they can escape that life just long enough to come spiraling back down when yet another attack happens.
Sometimes, Isaac wonders if he’s unreasonably selfish to think that he should be the one to get to leave it all behind when everyone else has to stay there forever, trapped in that cycle of healing and hurting, protecting and dying, all in the same strains as before. Surely he is not be the one to deserve a release. Surely the free man should be Scott, whom the world owes everything, or Allison, who should have gotten the chance to live into her twenties, or any one of those friends who Isaac sees more often on a Christmas card than in real life.
Yet it’s him nonetheless, him standing in an apartment in New York City and wondering how he got this lucky. Members of the pack come up every now and then, it’s not like Isaac is totally cut off. They’ll visit about once a year or so, every trip up the same. Some old friend stands on Isaac’s streets and murmurs something about how wild the city is. They’ll stay a few days then send themselves back down to exile in the hunter’s land of Beacon Hills. Isaac always offers to keep them longer. At least here, they’re mostly out of danger, but no one ever takes him up on it.
He’s been able to shrug most of his survivor’s guilt from his shoulders through the slow realization that all of his friends want the danger, in some way. They feel called to it. If they cannot protect others, how can they protect themselves? It may end in their early deaths, and for some, it already has, but they would choose that path over and over again anyway.
They’re not the only ones to share in such a fate. Isaac turns and walks further into his apartment, where his eyes rest on another survivor. Y/N L/N, once a stranger he’d seen on the news and then a friend he’d wanted to keep more than any other, is now more to Isaac than he ever imagined possible. After that first meeting in a diner after Isaac had accidentally realized that she was Snowstorm, one of the Avengers, they kept crossing paths.
Soon enough, Isaac realized that he didn’t ever want to go through another goodbye at the end of a wonderful date, that he wished they could have a world in which he connected one hour after another, an endless string of moments in which it was just the two of them. Nothing more, nothing less. He wanted her forever, even if Isaac’s forevers tend to find themselves broken after a matter of years.
Nothing has happened to ruin them yet, however. Even daring to voice the thought in his head seems like a great temptation of fate to Isaac, but he stands by it anyway. Let this be a promise to a world that has only ever hurt him:  Isaac chooses the good now, the happy ending. He will have what he wants, and that will be the love of his life. He can have his contented resolution with Y/N L/N, and there is absolutely nothing that can get in the way of that.
That won’t stop Fate from trying, though. For now, they’re alright. Isaac holds out an arm to the girl he loves, and she leans into him. He’s long since learned to stop taking it personally when Y/N’s heartbeat flares for a brief instant of panic every time someone comes as close to her as Isaac dares. Those are just the habits of a bygone era, if one that still haunts her every time she thinks about it. Y/N is a product of the labs, and Isaac will never hold that against her.
They’ve gotten better, the two of them. Y/N may never forgive the world for loving the torture she was put through all in the name of receiving super powers. Isaac may never stop flinching away from full moons and even the barest hint of someone who could be a hunter. The system made them like this, and the system stops them from being fully human, both in physical composition and mental habits.
They’re used to it, though, and they’re used to each other. If you have to be an outsider in a world that was once your own, Isaac has found that it’s best to do it with someone you care about by your side. That’s why Isaac is able to look at Y/N’s left hand and smile at the ring on her finger. It’s a promise he made to her about a month or two ago that he would never stop trying to make her feel at home, even on the days when she’s sure that she would never belong anywhere but a battleground. It’s an oath that he intends to take to his grave.
He spent a fair amount of time picking out the ring, too. Everything had to be perfect for Y/N, you know? The stone itself is crystalline white, one bit of ice and snow that Y/N can accept by the virtue of her own choice instead of being shaped only from bad memories. It’s a way to reclaim all that she has been through, a way to make it her own. Isaac intends to be with her throughout that journey, and this ring symbolizes his decision to make that permanent.
He doesn’t entirely know when the wedding will happen. With lives like theirs, important dates tend to get sidetracked. He does know that it will occur one day, though, and even such a casual promise as that is enough for Isaac. They’re both looking forward to it and that’s enough for now.
Isaac would be fine with spending the rest of today, and perhaps all days after it, in standing here in easy tandem with Y/N, breathing in and out in unison. They can push off the world and its difficulties for another month. It will find other martyrs to damn in their absence.
However, the call to action is impossible to ignore, especially when it comes in the form of the alarming news broadcast currently radiating out from the TV in the corner of their apartment. They have a habit of leaving it on in case they see something related to either the supernatural world or the Avengers or some combination of both, and they aren’t disappointed now.
A man named John Walker looms onscreen, proudly decked out in stars and stripes. He carries a round vibranium shield, the very one that was supposed to be in a museum as dictated by Sam Wilson. That declaration doesn’t seem to have stopped John Walker from being appointed as the new Captain America, however.
Y/N tenses. “This isn’t good.”
Isaac tilts his head to the side. “Because it’s disrespecting Steve’s legacy?”
Her lips press together as she thinks. “Partially. Also because it’s disrespecting Sam. If this Walker guy has the shield, it means Sam wasn’t consulted on this in the slightest. People are just setting up heroes as puppets whose strings they can pull whenever they decide on it. I have a feeling that this isn’t going to end well.”
As if to prove her point, Y/N’s phone goes off. She checks the screen and reads off a few disgruntled messages from Bucky Barnes, no surprises there. If there’s one guy who’d hate to see Steve’s shield tossed around by some imposter, it would have to be the original Captain America’s childhood friend.
Isaac would like to think that this whole situation would blow itself over in due time. Maybe Walker would realize that the spangled uniform isn’t worth the risks, or that being Captain America is a dream that no one other than Steve Rogers can actualize.
However, the passage of time only brings with it more problems, not less. The arrival of a mysterious group called the Flag Smashers tears Y/N from her quiet epilogue with Isaac and towards the fight once more. Isaac can see it in her face, how much she hates the fact that she will never be free of conflict. Y/N has tried to wash her hands of all this blood more than once, and no matter how many times people promise that this one will be her last job, really, they just keep calling.
It’s not even Sam or Bucky’s fault this time. The unhappy fact of life is that peace will always need to be defended, and there’s no one better for the job than Y/N. The world will always be some desperate thing one inch from death, and it rewards its protectors with yet another cause to hurt. Isaac insists on going with her, and it takes Y/N reminding him on about a dozen occasions how bad it would be if he was revealed as a werewolf on camera for him to be convinced to stay at home.
The least Isaac can do is take up the mantle of neighborhood protector while Y/N is out. They’ve done this a few times before, actually, patrolling the streets of the city in search of criminals to punish. With Isaac’s reflexes and skills with fighting, he makes a decent hero. He never thought of such a title, but Y/N makes him want to pursue it more than ever.
Such is the life of Isaac Lahey without his best girl; he stops carjackers, he beats thieves into more of a pulp than is strictly necessary. He’s just stressed, that’s all. Stressed and terrified that this might be Y/N’s last war, not because she’s finally no longer bound to the unspoken rules that Avengers will fight until their last but because she will actually be at her last. Isaac can’t lose Y/N. He doesn’t even want to think about it.
Y/N will not be the one who is lost, however. She calls him, dazed, just a short while later. She doesn’t even have to explain the cause for her concern, Isaac already knows. It’s hard to think about anything other than the fact that the latest Captain America pretender has brutally murdered a man, and that the clips are spreading like wildfire across the Internet. The second Isaac saw the news, he just pulled out his phone and waited.
Y/N called about thirty seconds after Isaac found it out. He can hear from her stuttering responses, the way his usually confident fiancée is now tripping over herself in a failing effort to relate just how horrifying all of this is, that she’s been severely affected. Who wouldn’t be affected, after all? To see that in person? Isaac feels sick to his stomach and he wasn’t even there. Y/N had to watch all of that go down.
In a way, she says at last, she was expecting something like this to happen. Clearly not on the level of bloodlust that she just witnessed, but something. Walker was bound to snap. That’s what happens when you spend all this time surrounded by people who aren’t human and feel like you have to convince yourself that you’re fine with it, after all. Isaac saw it with the hunters, and he sees it with John Walker now. At some point, you get so desperate to prove that you’re human that you do something to show that you’re anything but. Walker may have set out to change the world as a regular man, but what he has now done has made him a monster.
They’re only able to talk for a brief while before Y/N has to go. Damage control has to make its rounds, and now Sam’s finally in agreement with Bucky and Y/N that they need to take back the shield before Walker does anything worse. Y/N texts a while later that the deed is done, no specifics mentioned. Isaac doesn’t need to hear the intricacies of her heartbeat with the clarity of supernatural hearing to know how rattled she is by the whole encounter.
Despite his strongest, deepest fears, Y/N does come back to him. A little quieter, a little more shaken, but she is there nonetheless. That’s all Isaac could ever ask for. He has had years of watching his friends shrink away into nothingness because they felt like they could only ever walk towards their impending sacrifice. If he can provide a home for Y/N to return to at the end of missions like that one, well, Isaac would give his own life to make sure it would happen.
The situation does have a happy ending, after all, or at least the closest any of them can truly come to a happy ending:  peace. Sam Wilson has a place out in Louisiana, a corner of the world where the sunsets are always golden and the laughter always flows free and long. There, undisturbed, Isaac and Y/N get to experience a Wilson family dinner out on the pier. They talk for hours. Isaac may never have met some of these people before, but he walks away from it all thinking that this is it, this is what a home should feel like.
It reminds Isaac that they’re going to be okay. They are all destined to die at some point, heroes and supernaturals alike, but somewhere in between their rude awakenings and their eventual last breaths, there are moments like these when all is well. Perhaps Isaac will meet his fate tomorrow, or in a month, or not for many years. Regardless, he can face it with open arms. It might be the first time in his life that such acceptance has come over him, but he can guess at why. Isaac is not alone, nor will he ever be alone. No claws or fangs have ever protected him as much as that blessed knowledge.

this love
Tumblr media
pairing: isaac lahey x reader
summary: after years of not seeing isaac, he shows up at a hangout you’re having with your friends
warnings: mentions of alcohol, characters are aged up
a/n: hi anon ! thank you so much for the request. i hope you enjoy and anyone else who would like to request anything please do. i’m low on motivation lmao
Tumblr media
“lydia, i’m really not sure if i can make it.” you say into the phone, “i mean i have so much to do for work.”
“that’s the point. it’ll be a break from all of that.” she says. “and we haven’t all met up in awhile. it’ll be fun.”
you shut your apartment door behind you as you set your bags down, “lydia…”
“please, y/n/n. who knows the next time we’ll all be able to hang out. you know how stiles is about this stuff.”
she was right. you knew stiles was worried about all of you drifting apart. and while you guys had all gone off and got your own jobs and homes, you still met up whenever you could. just standing there now, you can imagine stiles’ puppy dog eyes looking back at you.
“yeah, okay.” you sigh, “i’ll see you guys tonight.”
“yay ! okay, i’ll see you later. bye.”
“bye.” you say before you hang up.
•••
the bar is loud as you walk through the door. you were dressed in a pair of light washed jeans and a crop top. it was a very simply outfit, but you knew your friends would be dressed the same.
you hold your purse close to you as you walk through the bar. your friends were sat all the way in the back as usual. the booth you guys always take whenever you met up there.
a small smile takes over your face as you see stiles telling a story with his hands flying all over. as you get closer, scott looks over at you.
“hey, y/n/n.” he smiles. everyone else at the table turns toward you as you get closer.
“hey, guys !”
“y/n !” lydia says as she gets up to hug you. you laugh as she squeezes you before letting go.
“how are you guys ?”
“great.” stiles nods before taking a sip of his drink. he steps aside as scott gets up.
“i’ll be back.” he says before walking off
“here, y/n/n.” liam says sliding a drink over, “i was the only one nice enough to actually order it for you.”
“because you’re the only one who remembered it, asshole.” malia says
“it’s still odd knowing you can drink now, but thank you.” you chuckle. “where’d scott go ?”
“oh, uh,” stiles starts, “he went to go grab someone.”
you furrow your brows as you scoot in beside lydia, “who ?”
“guys !” scott calls out. you turn in the direction of his voice and your eyes widen.
“oh my god.” you mutter
“hey.” isaac smiles
“hey, isaac.” stiles says awkwardly, “glad to see you, buddy.”
“you’re back from france ?” lydia asks
“uh, yeah.” he nods
scott pats his shoulder, “he’s staying, too. i figured i’d invite him to the meet up.”
“the more the merrier.” lydia shrugs. she looks over at you before nudging you, “right, y/n/n ?”
“huh ?” you blurt out turning to her before looking back up at isaac and smiling, “oh, yes, yeah. the more the merrier.”
isaac smiles nodding. you hear stiles chuckling from the other side of the table. you leg flies out and kicks him in his shin under the table. “ow !”
•••
it had been about two hours since isaac had shown up and everything seemed to be going okay. everyone fell into casual conversation as usual. you laughed along with your friends before looking down at your empty cup.
you turn to lydia, “hey, i’m gonna go grab another drink.”
“okay.” she smiles. you slide out of the booth before heading toward the bar.
you sit on a stool as a bartender comes up to you. “hi, can i get a margarita please ?”
“of course.” she smiles, “coming right up.”
you give a grateful smile back, “thank you.”
as she walks off, you look down at your hands. you look over as someone sits in the stool next to you. your heart beat accelerates as isaac’s blue eyes stare back at you.
“hey.” he says
“hi.” you smile
silence falls between the two of you. you and isaac dated for about a year before he left for france. of course, it hurt, but you knew leaving was probably what was best for him. especially considering he didn’t actually have any family left in beacon hills.
when he left, you guys didn’t keep any contact. you truly thought he wouldn’t ever come back to beacon hills. but as he sat next to you six years later, he looked just as beautiful as he did when he left.
he was of course older and his features were more defined. he had stumble growing across his chin. and to be honest, you loved it. he was older, but he still looked like the same guy you fell in love with.
and as isaac sat across from you, he couldn’t imagine anyone more beautiful. your eyes were still sparkling and full of happiness. your skin and your smile just as gorgeous and as captivating as he remembered. whenever you guys were sat with your friends, he thought you would’ve caught him staring. and now with the two of you alone, he was afraid he wouldn’t ever be able to keep his eyes off of you.
“how have you been ?” he asks
“um, i’m good. i’ve been really busy with work and stuff.” you chuckle, “but i’m good. how about you ? how was france ?”
“it was great.” he smiles, “it felt good to take the time for myself. i really needed it.”
“i understand.” you nod. you look over as a glass is set in front of you, “thank you.”
“no problem.” she says before turning to isaac, “would you like anything, sir ?”
“no, thank you.” he says. the bartender nods before walking off. “so, what do you do for work ?”
“i’m a web developer for a fashion company.” you say
“seriously ?” he asks. you hum in agreement, “that’s amazing, y/n/n. i remember you talking about that a couple of years ago.”
“yeah, it’s not exactly what i wanted to do, but i’m still involved, so it’s amazing.”
“yeah.” he says as you look down at your drink. his eyes soften, “y/n ?”
“hm ?”
“i’m really sorry.” he says. you look over at him with a frown, “i’m sorry for just leaving like that.”
“don’t be.” you say shaking your head, “i understand why you left. honestly, thinking back, i probably would’ve done the same thing.”
“i wanted to call you.” he nods, “and i would’ve, but i didn’t know if you hated me or didn’t want me to contact you. i probably should’ve asked scott, but i knew he had a lot going on.”
“it’s okay, isaac.” you say. isaac can feel his heart skip a beat at the way his name sounded coming from you.
“so, we’re okay ?”
“of course, we are.” you say, “we always will be.”
isaac smiles wide, “great.”
you pull away from your straw to face isaac. his blue eyes following your every move. as you looked at him, you notice the look in his eyes. the same look he would give you anytime he saw you when you were dating. the same look that he still had whenever he told you he was leaving for france.
the look that told you that he loved you and would do anything for you. it was still there.

Fake - Isaac Lahey | Part nine
series masterlist
Warnings: language
AN: I'm crying this is the final part, thanks to everyone for sticking with the story, ily all. (New Isaac series coming soon idk...)
Tumblr media
Y/N,
I'm sorry that I hurt you. I'm an idiot for not seeing it sooner, how you felt about me. And how I feel about you. I don't know how you can love me, I'm annoying. I fidget with everything, and I have a habit of saying too much or in this case, not enough.
I should have told you how I felt sooner, but deep down, I don't think I believed that I deserved to love you. But I do, love you I mean. I'm sorry, that I fucked this up, ruined us. But I'm not sorry that I loved you till I couldn't breathe.
I hate that I can't sit still for more than a minute, it bothers me that I'm so mean sometimes, and I hate that I can't see what's right in front of me. I hate all of my habits, Y/N, but I happen to love you.
I'm sorry,
Isaac.
_
Isaac didn't know what he was doing. The sky was grey outside as if reflecting his mood to the rest of the world, and his feet carried him back and forth across the carpet of his room. He refused to read back what he wrote on the paper. If he did, it would ruin the compulsiveness of it all. He would hate every word. It would end in piles of paper on the floor, all in little crushed balls, the words they held never good enough. Isaac's first attempt would be the one he would give you. He felt it would be the greatest truth. After all, it was all his wild and rapid thoughts. Editing would ruin the truth in it.
There was a question that plagued Isaac's mind, however. would he hurt you more in doing this? If he gave you the letter, would you truly cast him out of your life forever? Was he clingy, annoying, and needy? He thought about tearing the paper up, ripping it into a million pieces, and never showing you. Never telling you everything on his mind. And then he came to his senses. Not communicating with you had caused this mess in the first place, and not telling you how he felt sooner had torn the both of you apart. Isaac put the letter in an envelope that took forever to find and sealed it inside. He didn't know exactly how he would get the letter to you. He didn't know if he would read it aloud or let you scan the words without him there. He just knew you had to have it.
In the end, after much deliberation, Isaac came to a decision. He had a lacrosse game tonight, a home game that Isaac doubted you would attend. He'd pushed you too far this time, and somehow, he knew you wouldn't be in the stands waiting. It wasn't like the last time you'd planned not to come and then showed up anyway. You weren't coming to this game, no matter how many prayers Isaac sent to the sky above. So, Isaac decided the only chance he had was to slip the letter into your locker. That way, he gave you the choice. You could read it and discover the depth of Isaac's affections, or you could dispose of it and continue on your quest to never speak to Isaac again. Isaac hoped you would give him the chance. If you did, maybe you would find it in yourself to forgive him. Maybe, even love him again.
-
The letter fell at your feet as people milled around you, heading toward the exits of the school. The day was over, and the rush of people racing to get home, perhaps to prepare for the lacrosse game to come that night, was overwhelming. You watched helplessly as it was trampled over by one, two, three, people, before finally you could reach down and take it in your hands. The paper was crinkled, and there was the light sketch of a muddy shoeprint now across the envelope. Even so, the letter was clearly addressed to you. Your name is messy letters across the back of the envelope. In Isaac's handwriting.
You thought over throwing it away, tossing it back down to the floor where it could be trampled over repeatedly, just as your heart had been whilst you loved Isaac. Your thumb ran across your name on the paper, and even though you were trying your best to leave Isaac behind, this was too intriguing to ignore. Isaac was never good with words unless they came in the form of sarcasm or smart comments. Slowly, you opened the envelope, the edges of it tearing as you tried to remove the content from within. You pulled out the piece of paper from inside and unfolded it carefully as if it were a bomb that could go off any minute. And then, you stood staring.
But once, he'd loved Allison, too. And there was always the chance that he still felt for her as he felt for you now. Second best was something you'd grown used to in Isaac's life, but if this was a time when you got to come first, you weren't going to share the podium. Slowly, you folded the letter and let it slide into the pocket in the back of your jeans. You needed time to think, and though every part of you was reeling, you held composure and made your way to the exit.
Isaac's handwriting, the messy scrawl of his heartfelt thoughts, and the things he felt toward you were laced on the paper. You could hear his voice in your mind as your eyes danced across the words, you could hear him laughing, singing, and shouting as you lent against your locker. Isaac loved you; it was here like a promise on paper, written in bleeding ink that stained the pages of your mind. He loved you. He loved you.
When you arrived home, the temperature dropped significantly. The sun was low, and the heat of it had dispersed from the air, leaving you to feel cold and alone as you made your way inside. Your room was as messy as your mind, and for some reason, you were overcome with the urge to clean it as you thought over the very compelling words Isaac had delivered you.
You could list a million reasons why you should leave Isaac behind, the top on said list being that you'd cried yourself dry over said boy more than once. But then again, that was love. Screaming, crying, and laughing until you were deemed insane, driven mad by affection, and passion. And you were still undeniably in love with the boy. That feeling couldn't simply fade.
By the time your clothes were folded, all your things in their collective places and your bed made, you had in turn made up your mind.
So, with a clean room and a racing heartbeat, you put on your coat and stepped into the cold.
-
The sun had set by the time Isaac and the rest of the lacrosse team ran onto the field, and as always, they were met by the cheers of their peers, parents, and friends. All but you, of course. Isaac listened hard but came up with nothing. He couldn't hear any trace of you in the stands, under the bleachers or anywhere in his vicinity. You hadn't shown, just as Isaac expected. He didn't deserve your praise and cheers after all. He wasn't your hero anymore, and perhaps he never was.
Scott gives Isaac a look from across the field. The boy knows he's distracted, he can probably sense the depression rolling off of Isaac in waves, and in true Scott fashion, he's concerned. Most likely, Scott and Stiles have already pieced together the puzzle that is Isaac's, broken heart. Maybe they voted on giving Isaac an intervention, a holiday away, or even grief counseling. He wouldn't be surprised, to say the least.
What is the cure for a broken heart? Food? Friends? A good cry? More so, what is the cure for a heart broken by Y/N L/N? Isaac doesn't believe there is one. No pain could be worse, and no band-aid could hold him together long enough for him to get over you. Not completely.
All Isaac can think of to do, is absolutely obliterate his opponents. Perhaps if he sees the opposing team members writhing on the ground, he'll feel better. So, that's what Isaac does. He bashes into one player after another, the loud whacks of each body colliding with his sending 'oohs' and 'ahh's' through the crowd. It's brutal and most definitely against the rules to some extent, but Coach Finstock doesn't take him off the field, because they're winning. Isaac is winning. The coach of the opposing team doesn't make a move either, almost as though he is too afraid of Isaac's wrath to argue. Good. Isaac needs this. It's most certainly a character flaw on his part, but he's heartbroken and in honesty could not care less. Perhaps he cared so much for you that he ran out of compassion for the rest of the world.
So, Isaac goes in for another attack, the other player heading down the field in the opposite direction from his team's goal, consumed by the fear of the werewolf, chasing him. Not that he knows Isaac's true capabilities, though the terrified expression on the boy's face could convince even Isaac that he does.
The crowd is shouting profusely, knowing what is about to befall the player Isaac is pursuing, but no one runs to stop the assault. It's a game after all, and if the coaches and referee deem it fairly played, so be it. Isaac is almost on top of the boy when he stops. It's as if something possesses him, freezing him in his tracks. He stumbles as he does so, the force at which he stopped his pace swaying him forward, but he's still on his feet and so is the other player.
Isaac hears something, a familiar beat rounding the corner. It's fast paced, nervous, and as Isaac turns to face the sound, he sees who the particular heartbeat belongs to.
You stand there fiddling with your hands, eyes scanning the field until they meet with his. There's a silent communication in that moment, and Isaac knows you've read the letter. You've seen into the mess that is his mind, and it terrifies him. He watches as you move forward, his heart beating out of his chest, first a walk, and then faster, all whilst Isaac is frozen to the spot both of awe and fear. The game around him comes to a pause as you make your way onto the field, stepping in front of players’ mid game. Isaac can hear those in the crowd muttering in confusion and frustration, he wants them all to shut up so he can focus on you. He just wants to focus on you.
It takes a while for you to reach him, the field is huge and it's hard to cover ground, even at the pace you’re going, but there is a part of Isaac that thinks he is seeing everything in slow motion. Like his anxiety is playing tricks on his mind.
It's not long before you're standing within arm’s reach of him, waiting for a reaction. Isaac's eyes scan over you, taking in the moment so that perhaps he can find it in himself to breathe again. You're staring him down, and he can sense fear in the beat of your heart, as if you think Isaac might not want to see you. In your hand is the letter, firmly grasped as if you are incapable of letting it go. Perhaps you came to give it back to him.
"Hi."
It's a relief for Isaac to hear your voice, even more so the fact that you are speaking to him. He never thought that would happen again.
"Hi." Isaac is sweating, nerves boiling over as he parrots your greeting. All he can do is watch as you glance down to the letter, and he's sure you're about to give it back when you look up at him once more.
"I'm not Allison."
Those three words burn like a hot poker, and Isaac despises the fact that he made you think you had to be someone you're not for him to care. He cares more than he thinks you will ever know.
"I don't want you to be." The words come easy, sliding from his lips with a thousand emotions, a potion of truth.
"You promise?"
"I promise."
And somehow, that's enough. The field is quiet, so is the crowd, and Isaac knows you're trying to ignore their stares, but that doesn't stop you from kissing him. It reminds him of the first time, standing in the hallway with everyone watching, the first time he truly let himself feel everything for you. His mind goes back to the day on this very same field, where it was just you and him under the floodlights with no one else to see. But most of all Isaac is focused on now. It's the first time his lips have met yours in a moment unplanned, an impulse that proves just how powerfully his heart beats for you. He doesn't waste a second in kissing you back, relishing in the feel of your arms around his neck, and just how close you are to him after being apart.
You break away only when you hear Stiles shouting, his voice recognisable anywhere. He's yelling out comedic lines straight out of a movie, teasing the both of you with 'get a rooms' and 'break it up lovebirds' but he's clapping for you through it all like a child.
Isaac ignores him, bringing a hand up to tilt your face back his way. He wants you smiling at him, not a Stilinski.
"So, we're really doing this?" Isaac can't help the way the words come out in a whisper, but he's so close you to he knows that you hear them. You're looking up at him, and he can feel your heart racing, he knows his is doing just the same.
"For real this time?"
Isaac smiles, hand on your cheek "For real this time."

Killer Duo - Isaac Lahey
Summary: Lydia’s throwing a Halloween party and your costume coordinates with Isaac’s
Isaac Lahey x Reader
Word Count: 1,591
Author’s Note: Apparently this was in my drafts in 2019 and I finished it in 2020. Why it never got posted, I’m not sure. The timing of this is funny cause I’m currently at work dressed as the character Isaac is dressed as. Anyway, reblogs and comments are appreciated. Happy Halloween!
Tumblr media
“Lydia, I haven’t dressed up for Halloween since I was 12,” you said walking around looking at all the creepy Halloween decorations.
“And this is a costume party. You have to dress up or you can’t go,” Lydia replied walking in front of you heading straight for the costumes.
“I have no idea what I should be. And most Halloween costumes for women are sexy now, which really means they’re short and inappropriate, and I am not doing that.”
The strawberry blonde rolled her eyes. “You haven’t even looked at any costumes yet and your already jumping to conclusions.”
“I’m just pointing out facts. Halloween used to be fun, then I grew up.”
“And now you’re at the age where you can dress up again,” Lydia smiled at you. “There’s just no candy this time.”
“So what’s the point,” you joked.
“Just come on,” Lydia said grabbing your arm pulling you towards the superhero costumes first.
The two of you began to look through the racks of clothes. You ran a mental checklist of everything that wouldn’t work for you.
Batgirl? No.
Iron Man? No.
Elastigirl? Hell no.
“Oh, what about Wonder Woman,” Lydia asked holding up the iconic armor for you to see.
“Ehh,” you said fidgeting on your feet, “I don’t feel comfortable having my ass out.”
“Okay,” Lydia said sighing at how difficult you were making this. She stood next to you scanning the the other costumes in the superhero section and decided you were going to like any of them.
“What about a witch,” she asked.
“I guess I could be that,” you replied halfheartedly.
“No, I don’t want you buying something you don’t love. That’s the number one rule in fashion.”
“Lydia, why don’t you just look for your costume and I’ll find mines. I don’t want you to keep pulling outfits and I hate them all.”
Lydia turned and faced you. “Honey, I bought my costume weeks ago. No one is going to be wearing the same thing as me at my own party.”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “Duh, I should have known you already had your costume ready to go.”
“Yes, so this trip is all about you, my dear,” Lydia said tapping you on the nose making you smile.
“Fine,” you replied. “Well, let’s go look at something a little more spookier then.”
_____________
“Barbie, eat your heart out.”
Lydia walked up behind you in the mirror and nodded. “You look good.”
“I look killer,” you laughed and Lydia smiled shaking her head.
You looked at yourself in the mirror admiring your white dress, leather jacket, and combat boots. You grabbed your eyeliner pencil and added the final touch. Tiffany’s mole.
Perfect.
As soon as you saw the Bride of Chucky costume, you knew you needed it. Lydia was just happy you didn’t go with Chucky so you didn’t mess up her bathroom adding all the wounds and fake blood on your face.
About an hour later, the party was well under way and you already made your first rounds with Lydia. Now she off doing other hostess duties and you were people watching against the wall.
You saw Isaac across the room and smiled to yourself. You excused yourself through the crowd as you made your way across the room.
“Hey, Isaac. Nice costume,” you greeted, looking up at the tall burette in front of you. Well, he wasn’t brunette right now. He was wearing a red wig and a pair of Good Guys overalls. You snickered to yourself. Of course the guy you had a crush on would be dressed up as Chucky. He was basically the salt to your pepper.
“Thanks,” Isaac said, a grin lining his face. “And you are a... biker bride?”
You looked at Isaac confused and shocked. “You’re kidding me, right?”
“What,” Isaac smiled confused at your response. “Should I know who you are?”
“Yes,” you said laughing. You gawked at him as you held up your plastic bloody knife and pointed to your “Tiff” necklace. His eyebrow furrowed in confusion.
“I’m Tiffany...”
Isaac shook his head still lost.
“The Bride of Chucky...”
“Sorry. Still don’t know who that is.”
“Oh my God. Isaac, how are you dressed up as Chucky but don’t know who Tiffany is?”
Isaac shrugged. “Honestly, I wasn’t planning on wearing a costume, but Lydia said I had to, then showed up to Scott’s house with this.”
You shook your head, laughing to yourself. “Of course she did.”
“Am I missing something,” Isaac asked wanting in on the joke.
“Lydia knew I was dressing up as Tiffany and she made you be Chucky... we’re basically a couple’s costume.”
“We are,” Isaac asked, his eyebrow raised and smirk slowly growing on his face.
“Uhh, I- I mean sorta,” you replied fidgeting where you stood. “Especially, now when we’re standing next to each other.”
Isaac took a step closer to you. “So I guess I better keep you close then.”
You’re eyes grew big but before you could response you were interrupted.
“There you two are,” Lydia said walking up to you and Isaac. Her blonde ponytail wig bouncing with each step she took. She definitely was the only I Dream of Jeannie here. You doubted if most of the party even knew who she was, but they all knew she looked good. “Well don’t you look cozy together.”
“Lydia,” you said a little too sweetly for anyone’s liking. “I hear we have you to thank for Isaac’s costume.”
“What,” Lydia asked like she didn’t basically have you and Isaac in a couple’s costume. “I couldn’t have him come to my Halloween party not dressed up.”
“Yeah, sure,” you scoffed crossing your arms over your chest.
“Anyway, everyone’s outside so we can take a group pic before anyone is too intoxicated to do it later.”
“Lydia,” Stiles yelped running up. “Oh, hey guys,” he said waving to you and Isaac. You smiled and waved back before he began talking to Lydia. He was dressed up as Captain Tony Nelson, the perfect couple’s costume to Lydia’s Jeannie. “Um, so, I may or may not have gotten my Captain’s hat stuck on the roof... okay I definitely did. But it was Scott’s fault!”
“Seriously, Stiles,” Lydia fumed. “God,” she whispered under her breath shaking her head before turning to you. “Give it about ten minutes before the picture so I can get his hat down.”
You laughed nodding your head. “Okay.”
The couple walked away, leaving you alone with Isaac. “Um, I’m going to go get something to drink. See you outside in ten?”
“Yeah,” Isaac said, giving you a slow and sexy smile.
You turned and headed for the kitchen, letting out a long breath as you did. Isaac’s whole existence was driving you crazy. Although you did like the blue eyed boy, and you’ve been wanting something to happen for a while, he was making you incredibly nervous. You’d rather avoid him instead of potential embarrassing yourself.
After you filled your red solo cup with the fruity punch being served, one of your classmates came up to you.
“Hey Y/N, cute costume.”
“Thanks!”
“I didn’t know you and Isaac were a thing.”
“Huh,” you asked confused.
“The couple’s costume,” they said hesitantly. “Chucky and Tiffany.”
“Ohh, duh” you said to yourself when you realized. “We’re not dating. We just happened to wear costumes that went together.”
“Oh... well, the two of you look good together,” they said shrugging then walked away.
All your friends were already outside ready to take the picture. Lydia handed her phone to the designated photographer, then went to stand next to Stiles. Scott was in the middle, with Kira next to him. Malia was next to Kira, while Stiles and Lydia were on the other side of Scott. You stood next to Malia, throwing your arm over your friend’s shoulder. Isaac stood near Stiles.
After two pics were snapped, Lydia went to check the photos. She grabbed her phone, then looked up at the group. “Somethings not right...,” she said out loud, thinking to herself. “I know!” She grabbed Isaac by his arm and pulled him over to where you were standing. “That’s better. You’re costumes go together, so it makes sense,” she said smiling. She mumbled a quick you’re welcome to you before she handed the camera back over and went back to her place next to Stiles.
The person taking the pictures counted down “3, 2, 1,” then snapped a pic. But before you got to one, Isaac grabbed you by the waist and pulled you into him. You shrieked in response then started laughing.
“Okay, now a funny one,” Scott yelled so everyone could hear.
Isaac didn’t hesitate, quickly picking you up bridal style. You yelped, then immediately stuck your tongue out at him. Lydia’s phone flashed as the picture was taken, then everyone stopped doing their poses, but Isaac didn’t put you down.
You giggled before you spoke. “You can put me down now, Isaac. The picture’s over.”
“I said I should keep you close. So that’s what I’m doing,” he said smiling down at you in his arms. “And besides, if we’re next to each other people will think we’re a couple, so no guy will ask you to dance.”
You titled your head to the side, your eyes squinted slightly. “But we’re not a couple.”
“Give it a few weeks.”
Your mouth dropped in a silent gasp, slowly turning into a huge grin. You heard Kira giggling behind you and Stiles’s “yuck.”

It never really got cold in Beacon Hills, considering it was located in California. Still, when temperatures started to fall to a mild climate, it signaled to the teen population that winter was fast approaching. And with that came Winter Ball. Which is all you've been able to think about.
To anyone who would ask, it wasn't that big of a deal– but you secretly thought about it. All the outfits, the decorations, the romanticism of it all. Maybe it was the hopeless romantic in you, especially as someone who has never had a date. It used to not bother you; you were happily involved in your studies or worrying about being murdered by a supernatural at any time. But then you started spending more time with a certain werewolf and thought it wouldn't be that bad to care about that stuff.
"Do you think Scott is going to ask me?" Kira said, scaring you out of your thoughts as you closed your locker. You took in the dark-haired female beside you, her eyes questioning and fingers tapping her books. "Will I have to ask him?"
"He'll ask you," you sighed. "He trips over his shoelaces every time he walks down the hall."
"Maybe he didn't tie them well?" Kira looked down the hall as if the boy in question would show up.
"He likes you," you sent a small smile. Kira relaxed slightly, loosening her shoulders before facing you with a questioning glance.
"Do you have anyone to go to the dance with?" Kira inquired, plain curiosity in her eyes. You knew, though, that she wanted more info on if you liked anyone. Even with her as a good friend, you rarely discussed those feelings with anyone. Usually, you were the one everyone else confided in.
"Might not even go," you averted your eyes as Kira slapped your arm lightly.
"You have to go!" Kira begged. "I can't go alone if Scott asks me."
"Kira, you won't be alone if you go with Scott." She silenced you again with a sharp look.
"You know what I mean," Kira sighed. "I just don't want you to shy away from something you might enjoy. Especially when I am certain some eligible young bachelor or bachelorette would be interested in going with you."
You pressed your back into your locker, looking down at your scuffed shoes rather than the girl beside you. You glanced up when you caught sight of Scott and Isaac in your peripheral vision. Kira grew still as she saw Scott shuffling closer to you to hide. You tried shoving her, but the kitsune was an immovable rock as Scott and Isaac got closer. You saw Scott's eyes light up as he caught sight of Kira, and you wanted to smile when Kira's cheeks deepened. You made it a point to not stare at Isaac next to him, even if you really liked the blue sweater he was wearing. It's purely observational, with no lurking feelings behind it.
"Hey guys," Scott smiled, holding his backpack straps like a kindergartener on the first day of school. "Whatcha guys up to?"
"Talking about the dance," you answered right as Kira tried to pass your prior conversation off as nothing. She shot you an angry look, but you hid the smile on your face as Scott perked up. "Kira wants to go but worries about not having a date." The look Kira shot you could be akin to being burned in the seventh circle of Hell, but you knew that your fair-weathered friend would've spent the whole time pondering if Scott liked her rather than making a move.
"I don't have a date either," Scott grimaced, trying to pass off as a smile. Kira visibly perked up, and you and Isaac barely hid smiles. "Maybe we can go together?"
The glee that overtook Kira's eyes was radiant, and she nodded enthusiastically. "I would love that," Kira grinned.
"Great," Scott beamed. "Can I walk you to class?"
Kira grabbed her books, sending you a look that said, "We'll talk later," while happily following the alpha wolf. You turned towards Isaac, feeling your heart start pitter-patter as he made eye contact with you. He gave you a shy smile, fidgeting with the books.
"They seem happy," you sighed, trying to break whatever tension you imagined.
"I'm glad it worked out," Isaac said, his steel blue eyes connecting to yours. "Scott was getting annoying."
"So was Kira," you slyly smiled. "What about you?" Isaac looked at you inquisitively. "Are you…going to the dance?"
"I don't think so," he mumbled, averting his eyes briefly. You felt your heart sink in disappointment. Luckily, you were spared a response with the bell ringing.
"See you around, Lahey," you smiled jokingly, trying to brush off any lingering feelings you had. You turned on your heel and walked off towards the direction of US History. You barely paid attention in class, though, your thoughts consumed with the micro-interaction by your locker. You didn't like Isaac, right? You just were disappointed a good friend wouldn't be there at a dance you might not even be attending. Totally rational feelings. At least that was the mantra you kept repeating till the end of the school day.
You managed to keep most Winter Ball-related thoughts at bay for the rest of the week while you helped the pack deal with whatever issue. Sometimes, it felt like you guys lived in a CW show with a villain of the week, but somehow, fighting and scheming became part of your routine. You would never admit it to anyone, but you did enjoy the research portion of your problems. Even if it was you and Stiles eating pizza in his room while staring at way too many red strings. It made you feel wanted in a way that you haven't before. By the end of the week, though, the only research you were doing was for a class project. You were already debating when you could (reasonably) quit for the night and curl up with some Netflix or Hulu. Your phone rang by the fifth academic journal, and you glanced to see Lydia's name lighting up the screen.
"Hello," you said, setting your phone on speaker.
"Dress shopping tomorrow. Are you in or out?" Lydia asked on the other line.
"For what?"
"Winter Ball, obviously," Lydia scoffed, the sound of rustling clothes in the background telling you she was going through her closet. "The fact I've waited this long when it's two weeks out is actually ridiculous, but with our life, I guess it's not surprising."
"I might not even go, Lyds."
"Don't be like that," Lydia sighed on the other line. "What's holding you back?"
"Kind of lame to go to a dance without a date," you mumbled, shrinking back into your chair. Maybe if you curled up in a ball and became a turtle, no one would ever ask things of you again.
"All of your friends will be there, and most girls will probably ditch their dates anyway," Lydia chimed. "And besides, who cares? I don't have a date either, and I'm still going."
"I thought you were going with Stiles."
"In a completely work-related situation," Lydia coughed, even as you rolled your eyes. "He knows that."
"I'm sure he'll figure it out by the tenth corsage he buys you," you snickered.
"Just come tomorrow; Kira is joining. We'll get dresses, lattes, and have a day where werewolves don't intrude." You bit the inside of your cheek, staring at your laptop screen as the words melted into mush in your brain. You could at least hang out, even if you didn't buy anything.
"I will come," you amended, almost hearing Lydia's excitement from the phone. "I won't promise that I'll buy anything."
"Grab you at 11 a.m., be ready," Lydia chimed, hanging up the phone. You sighed and put your head in your arms, wondering what you got yourself into.
It was a reminder that waking up by 10 a.m. was a struggle for you. You barely dragged yourself out the door as Lydia spammed your phone, pleading for your coffee as you slid into the car. Kira laughed at you as you curled up in a ball and muttered about sweet death taking you soon. Lydia drove up to the coffee place, an ivy-strewn brick building called Cafe Allegro, and you bolted out of the car and through the doors. The smell of roasting coffee beans and the whir of the espresso machines welcomed you like a blanket on a cold night, and you wondered if you could ask that when you die, it could be in a pile of coffee beans. You ordered your latte, not having to wait long to get your order as you stood off the side, inhaling the fresh scent. Having been absorbed in your calm, you didn't notice the boy standing next to you.
"You are really into your coffee," Isaac remarked, scaring you out of your stupor. You made a pathetic yelp, grimacing as a chuckle escaped his lips.
"It's too early."
"It's almost noon."
"Too early," you sighed, sipping the heavenly goodness in your hand. "Why are you here?"
"Scott and Stiles dragged me to the suit rental place and told me they didn't want me left alone to wallow or something like that," Isaac laughed, shoving his hands in his pockets. He was wearing a heather gray henley today that you were enjoying and trying your hardest not to notice. "If it's so early, why are you here?"
"Similar reason. Lydia and Kira dragged me dress shopping," you glanced up at him before looking around the shop and realizing that your comrades were hiding on the opposite side. Annoyingly leaving you with the person who gives you immense jitters.
"Do you think you'll get a dress?" Isaac inquired.
"Not sure why, don't have a good reason to," you mumbled, staring at your cup. Gosh, your heart was beating fast, and your stomach hurt. Maybe you should've gotten something calming like herbal tea.
"You should get one," Isaac coughed, looking visibly uncomfortable. For a second, you worried that you were annoying him. "You would look…pretty."
"Thanks," your cheeks burned. "Then, you should get a suit." You swallowed, feeling like your head was in a whirlpool. Isaac's eyes looked at you with something akin to interest, but you passed it off as your caffeine-filled hallucinations.
"We should go to the dance together," Isaac said quickly, tensing slightly as he awaited your reaction. Your eyes widened, and you had to remember what solid ground felt like as his words sank in.
"I would like that very much," you breathed. Isaac's demeanor softened, relief flooding his eyes. He bit his lip to stifle his grin, which was the worst mistake he could've made as now all you were focusing on was his lips. "Gotta go," you announced, bolting from him before he could say anything else or before you jumped him at a coffee shop. You made it to Lydia and Kira and dragged them out of the door, not bothering to look back for fear of embarrassment. Lydia had mild complaints, but mostly, Kira gave you a knowing look.
"Is there a reason for this rush?" Kira asked, eyebrows lifted in question.
"I need a dress," you said. Lydia and Kira shared a grin and you knew there was a specific reason they left you with Isaac in the cafe. You wanted to strangle them and kiss them for it.
The ride to the dress shop was short, but the anxiety building like a knot in your stomach persisted long after. Isaac asked you to the dance. He asked you for some unknown reason. You guys were friends and occasionally worked together. Still, you struggled to have a conversation before that didn't end with you saying something weird and making it awkward. You used to chalk it up to just not having common interests. Still, if you admitted the truth to yourself, you would know it's because you had a giant raging crush on the werewolf. Words were not in your vocabulary around him.
Entering the dress shop (a cute place called Laura Jane's Boutique), you were suddenly reminded why you didn't really want to go in the first place. You love pretty things, but the over-glitzy dresses and jumpsuits are not your style. At least Kira looked as out of place as you. Lydia led the charge, though, immediately saying "no" to many dresses on the rack and holding up some options for you and Kira. You did love it, though, Lydia caring enough to try and find the perfect dress for her friends. It made you feel wanted.
You wandered into one of the back sections, skipping the colors you would never wear. What was Isaac's favorite color? Maybe that's the color of dress you should go with. Your inner voice told you it shouldn't matter what color you wear. Not just because you value your independence but because Isaac would love it either way.
You pushed some dresses aside on one of the racks, stopping at a shorter-length dress. It had bell sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. It was simple but not understated, and you loved it.
You went home that night feeling like you were on a cloud. Except, like all good things, your crippling insecurities had to rear its ugly head and make you start questioning everything. Laying in your bed, the dress still in its tissue-wrapped bag, you stared at the ceiling, debating what had happened. What if Isaac only asked you to the dance because it was convenient? Or worse, he was asked to by someone like Scott or Lydia? He probably didn't like you at all. Why would he? You were human. Unremarkable.
Vibrations could be felt in your head as your phone rang, and you begrudgingly grabbed at it without checking the caller ID. "Hello?" you grumbled.
"Hey," the tenor voice said from over the phone. "Can I come over?"
"Isaac?" you asked, sitting up in your bed. "Is everything okay?" Oh my gosh, was he hurt? Or rescinding his previous offer of the dance.
"I just want to see you," he breathed. "Is this a bad time?"
"Never," you answered quickly. "You can come over."
Ten minutes later, of anxious pacing in your room, you got a text from Isaac saying he had arrived. You ran downstairs to open the door, slightly winded from the rush. Isaac's face was illuminated by your porch lights, and all you could think about was how pretty he was.
"Hi," you spoke, looking up at him.
"Hi," Isaac smiled, "can I come in?" Nodding, you opened the door further so the golden-haired werewolf could enter. You gestured for him to follow, leading him to your room for privacy. You started to regret that decision when you realized that you had invited someone you were interested in into your bedroom. This was the plot of a bad romance novel.
"What brings you to my humble abode?" you inquire, twirling to face him.
"I came to check on you," Isaac glanced around your bedroom, smiling faintly at your posters on the wall. You watched his eyes catch on your corkboard, where a photo of the two of you at Derek's loft is in prime display. It was after saving the day, and Stiles had bought multiple tubs of ice cream to celebrate. Derek demanded why this "celebration" had to be at his place. However, Stiles had never once listened to Derek's complaints and hosted it anyway. You loved that picture and that memory.
"Check on me? I'm not in danger again, am I?" you smile, sitting on your bed and subconsciously grabbing one of your stuffed animals.
"Kira was over to see Scott and mentioned you might be 'spiraling into oblivion,'" Isaac turned to you, quoting Kira's words. Sometimes, you wondered if that girl was telepathic with how well she knew you.
"Maybe a little," you mumbled, fidgeting with your fluffy friend. Isaac hesitantly sat next to you on the bed, his weight causing you to sink closer to him.
"Can I ask why, or should I just infer?" he chimed, grabbing another stuffed friend you have and twirling it around. It was a blue chicken from a video game you play, with a cute pink gizzard and round body. "I like this one."
"Do tell," you chuckled, watching him squish the chicken plush.
"It's squishy," he muttered, patting it on the head before setting it carefully beside him. Your heart wanted to burst at the small interaction.
"I was worried about the dance," you responded, answering his previous question. He gave you a sidelong glance, asking you to elaborate. "I don't know why you asked me."
"I like you."
"Like me, or like me?" you whispered, barely able to get your voice heard. Unfortunately, Isaac is sitting next to you and has a werewolf hearing, so he didn't miss a thing. He hesitantly grabbed the stuffed animal from your fidgeting hands, putting it aside before carefully holding your hand in his own.
"I think you're amazing," he smiled, looking at you with eyes the color of a lakeshore. "So yes, I like you."
"I like you too," you breathed, a smile gripping your lips. "When did you get good at socializing?"
Isaac laughed, still holding your hand as he absentmindedly traced shapes on your knuckles. "Had lots of time to practice conversations while trapped in a freezer."
"You need therapy."
"Probably," he laughed, grinning at you before tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. Your breath caught in your throat as he looked at you. "Can I kiss you?"
You barely managed a nod, your heart thumping loudly in your chest as Isaac kissed your lips. It was soft and somewhat hesitant, like he didn't want you to run away afterward. You boldly deepened the kiss, as it felt like water filled your ears and a marching band played in your heart. The hand he wasn't holding you used to capture his face, his free hand lightly gripping the outside of your thigh. It wasn't fireworks but an ocean at high tide with waves crashing against the shore. And you didn't mind it one bit; you hated fireworks anyway. When Isaac did pull away, his breath was warm against your lips, and you had to remember to let out a shaky breath before you hyperventilate. Isaac kissed your cheek, pulling back to look at you with pure adoration on his face.
Kissing him again was pure bliss, and you couldn't help but look at him with awe. You weren't sure how you were granted something this good when you've spent your whole life dreaming of something worth half of this. Still, you wouldn't exchange it for anything. It meant you got to spend Winter Ball with the most handsome boy on the dance floor.
