Red Rose Drabble

Werewolf!Eddie Munson x GN!Reader

On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red rose?

Full moon tonight….you ready? xoxo

Eddie chuckled as he read the note then crumpled it in his hand. He still couldn’t believe how understanding you were about everything. Are you kidding me? This might be the coolest thing to have ever happened to me….my boyfriend is a werewolf!!!

A little later, the sun was beginning to set as you and Eddie gathered deep in the woods. The autumn leaves crunched under your boots as you found the spot. You dropped your pack onto the ground before taking out the blanket, spreading it out. Birds flew overhead, the soft fluttering of their wings made you smile. You had been spending a lot of time in these woods ever since learning about Eddie’s secret. It was becoming your second home. Actually, you preferred it over the other one.

You stretched out on the blanket with Eddie next to you, fingers intertwined, the metal of his rings cool against your skin. Once the moon was high and bright in the sky, a glowing orb of magic, Eddie let go of your hand then stood. He undressed in the moonlight, pale skin seeming almost iridescent from the soft beams. The first few times, you couldn’t bring yourself to watch. It could definitely be a bit gruesome with the crunch and snap of bones, tendons stretching and contorting until the black fur and wolf form took over. Now, it didn’t bother you so much. Eddie said it looked and sounded more painful than it actually was.

The huge black wolf let out a loud howl before he padded over to you. You smiled and lifted your hands to stroke his large muzzle.

“Hey baby,” you grinned. His dark eyes caught in the moonlight before he howled again then took off. You grabbed your lantern out of the pack and your favorite book, flipping through the slightly curled pages of the paperback as you read while Eddie did whatever wolves do. Hunted, you assumed, but those were details you didn’t need to know and didn’t ask him to share. Even if he wasn’t taking down humans, you didn’t want to hear about the poor little bunny rabbits who would be biting it.

You got through a couple of chapters before Eddie reappeared, His large body loomed over your as he dropped the red rose between his teeth into your lap. You laughed softly as you picked it up, careful to not prick yourself on the thorns.

“Thank you, baby,” you smiled and kissed his muzzled. He left out a soft huff before his large body curled against yours. Your fingers curled into his black fur and you buried your face into his neck. Who knew dating a werewolf would be so romantic?
