Ok so

Gabriel is pretty chill in stressful/dangerous situations, right?

And being contacted by Mercury for a job didn't surprise him, obviously, he works for her. But it also doesn't happen in a frequency where he can't have a 4 month relationship and brush it off with a "I've been busy."

But his first question was "What kind of job?"

And Mercury immediately reassured him "Oh, nothing dangerous, darling"

Soooooooo....

If transporting a young blood witch (who she knew would be hunted by the council but she obviously didn't tell him that) out of fairborn territory and over two countries is a "not dangerous" job

if that kind of job was so usual that Gabriel knew exactly what they might need if it went sideways (like the front door suddenly not being an option anymore, or the gun hidden in his pizza box)

if it going sideways mostly just made him roll his eyes and curse (and hell, he reacted so quickly with the table at the Ozanne massacre)

Then what is considered a dangerous job?

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
