Absolutely not. Loathed every aspect of school, even more so because I had 'behind the curtain' access to everything (mom was a teacher, and I ended up being her PA towards the end of her career)

I cannot drive so nope! (same)

a job you had that would surprise people?

I was a part-time nanny through highschool, then a data collector for a day trader, and then a licensed insurance rep, then a PA for mom, which transformed into caregiver as she got older. Out of all of those, I'm not sure which would surprise people more. I was at least a corporate goth during my insurance years, let that mental image sit with ya for a minute. (I wasn't as cool as Richmond, unfortunately)

Can't say I've ever felt guilty about anything that's given me pleasure, never understood that concept.

Suspiria red and slime green! Tho, I have been favoring purple quite a bit these days.

I grew up in a house that was constantly filled with music, 50-60s pop, to 60s-70s motown, to 70s glam, to anything 80s that was currently on the radio. I jump all over the place, but my constants usually drift towards that stuff, as well as all the goth and numetal I picked up as a baby bat.

do you like puzzles?

I get frustrated too quickly, hence why I never got into gaming of any sort.

any phobias?

Not a phobia per se, but I still have some issues with boiling liquids (old burn trauma). I do all the cooking so I kinda have to push that stuff to the back of my mind, but yeah.

favorite childhood sport?

I loved basketball the most (tallest kid in class, heh) I liked volleyball as well, and was on a soccer team for a bit, but basketball came naturally to me.

do you talk to yourself?

Not much anymore. Long Covid brain fog has made a lot of things much quieter in my mind, a weird and rare upside XD

what movies do you adore?

Derek Jarman, Gregg Araki and John Waters were my honorary film uncles in late teens-early twenties. My life revolved around Wolfe Video and TLA Video back during the catalog ordering days, so I have MANY favorites there. Stephen King and Clive Barker were my horror uncles, and then you've got my childhood faves- Lost Boys, Monster Squad, Beetlejuice, etc. There's also this film called My Beautiful Laundrette that I mildly enjoy as well ;)

I do enjoy just regular ol' black coffee when the mood strikes (or my asthma's kicking up)

first thing you wanted to be growing up?

Wanted to work in the funeral arts, quelle surprise. Would've done it too, had I the patience for maths and sciences (I very much do not)

To compensate, the answer is really, really long! i know you said I could choose one but question 33 is kind of a joke question so whatevs. Also no keep reading sorry but Tumblr formatting is being a butthole 2) Who’s your favorite character from Alm’s side? Faye! Yes I know, you're all shocked. But honestly, she's the kind of character who absolutely deserved better (and imo she's the one who got shafted the most alongside Rinea), but it's so fun to flesh her out from the few things we know about her! Also, her fanbase is very small but so talented?? Besides the great fanart, especially on AO3 there are a lot of wonderful stories, my favourite being this one about her travelling with Celica! 3) Who’s your favorite character from Celica’s side? Previous answers: Celica Hoo boy, answering this question again is kinda hard, since I really like all of Celica's party besides Deen, Nomah and Jesse. But since Sonya T-Posed over Jedah's corpse today, I think I'm gonna go with her for this! She's an interesting personality (her confidence is honestly great and I like that while aloof at first she slowly warms up to the party), most of what she says reveals something about her or her past and she's connected with Echoes' main villain! Also, she has the only optional boss conversation in the entire game. Honestly Sonya to me is the perfect example of a mysterious character because every interaction with her is important to learn something about her and makes you keep wanting more, but you never get the whole picture, which means there's also room to speculate. For example, how did she end up working for Grieth? When did her sisters become witches? Should her endcard be taken literally or is it a rumor she just spread herself? 12) Of all the antagonists, which one is your favorite? Berkut! He's such an interesting villain and one I constantly have the time of my life mocking, but at the same time someone you can't help but feel sorry for the more you learn about him. He steals the spotlight every scene he's in, doubly impressive since he wasn't even in Gaiden to begin with and he has an incredible presentation, between the design, Ian Sinclair overkilling it and his overly grandiose themes! Rudolf gets a dishonorable mention, because while I absolutely hate him, dragging him through the mud every chance I get is so much fun. And honestly, that alone makes him "better" than a boring villain.

26) Talk a bit about the game’s themes!

It's intriguing and kinda suprising for FE standards the relative nuance with each theme, and I really like it! For the class struggle while you do get the message that your station shouldn't impact your opportunities and the hint that class won't matter nearly as much in the age of mankind, you still have things like Clive openly believing in the systems of monarchy and nobility (see: his support with Python that is one of my faves), and while he wants to fight for the common people and making life better for them, he has to face the fact he knows very little about their struggles, not to mention a lot of bias he still has to overcome (see: the whole situation with Delthea). Heck, the whole thing about Alm being secretly royalty makes the whole thing even more muddled, because while the game argues for meritocracy we also see how Alm has been able to do things the average person can't because of his bloodline. So, in this fantasy world, nobility would matter, right? While obviously there need to be more equal rights and less privilage, at the same time you wonder if Berkut was right after all about nobility being meant to rule, even besides the whole prophecy nonsense. Zofia and Rigel are a teeny bit more nuanced than the usual good country-bad country of Fire Emblem standards, same with Mila and Duma, so it's really interesting to discuss them, even if I wish we could have seen a bit more of both at their best (same for the gods' philosophies), instead of the decayed mess we see ingame. Rudolf (at least in theory) is the usual conqueror, but instead of being a puppet or just working for the main villain he's actually doing the opposite, preparing the hero to be the one to save Valentia never mind that he likely did more damage to Valentia than the freaking Faithful ever did Jedah, while being the usual evil sorcerer, he's also extremely devoted to Duma, with his motivations being that Duma must maintain his position for Valentia to survive, so he does whatever he can to tend to him and further his power (outright not caring if this will end up in an age of tyranny), and while this absolutely does NOT justify his action even a little, it's so intriguing and more interesting than the usual evil sorcerer doing evil things because they're evil (Gharnef) or even because of a tragic backstory! (Not to shit on characters like Manfroy, his manga backstory fits him perfectly and fleshes out a theme about persecution that was barely mentioned in og FE4, I really hope they make it canon in the eventual remake)

I WANNA SAY DADBOD. I REALLY DO. realistically he probably is fit but not to the extent of abs, as seen with his swordsmanship and whatnot (he apparently seems to still practice judging by how good he is). abs hershel is cursed and i hate it. but i’d guess he does get a dadbod when he’s, you know, a dad.

kinda tailing off that stem flora hc i had, she probably becomes a mechanic! again i saw someone draw that and it’s so fucking good oh my god. i’d like to think desmond gives her some pointers here and there in case she wants to build i giant mega robot (”uncle des i’m just trying to modify this car i’m not trying to take over south london” “whatever you say but that stuff comes in handy, flo”). luke probably did something with animals, though likely not a veterinarian, probably something like a zoologist or marine biologist! it fits his name.

silque SEEMS like she’d be super understanding and what not but i think she’d also be just a little frustrated if it takes a real long time to actually KNOW anything about him, especially if she’s laying herself bare like that to him. she acts real mature in game and had to grow up real fast because of everything but she’s literally only 19 years old so i think that. she still has some childish things to her, and probably even wishes that she could actually HAVE a childhood, and i think that “childish” (and im using quotes because its literally not childish to want friends but) side comes out in the faye support because of her persistance to be her friend, the want to gossip, etc. but its especially frustrating for her if like she ever actually developed feelings for him because i HIGHLY DOUBT she ever had an opportunity to have any little crushes while at the priory (THE ONLY GUYS WE SEE THERE ARE OLD ONES LIKE NOMAH AND KIDS LIKE BOEY WHO IS LIKE. 16. she’d mother him before anything elseLMAO).

AS FOR THE ANSGT THO….THERE IS THE POTENTIAL THERE….to me, python seems flighty, like he would rather not be tied down to any one thing or person so. long term relationships are out the window for him. and silque, i think her devotion to mila would come first before anything and anyone else (MARRIED TO G O D) tho i guess. after the war, with both the gods sealed away that maybe she would consider it? but considering her canon ending, its like. everyone else comes before herself. she’s extremely selfless in that aspect. python is the opposite, very selfish in his motives (self preservation, doing the bare minimum, etc). both of their canon endings seem like something they have to do for themselves tho so its like. if they did end up together, who leaves what they were doing? 

and because of silque growing up in a religious setting (which when im thinking of the lore for that i associate things with catholicism) it’d probably be kinda. awkward for her to do anything intimate because that’s just so far out of her element, and depending on WHAT exactly is in mila’s teachings, could even be against things she was taught (WHICH. THERE IS SOME SORT OF NEED FOR MODESTY IN CLERICS as they have the headdresses and the ones in mila’s temple have like. a full on wimple almost. im just gonna headcanon that genny is too young and is more like those nuns/clerics in training who havent taken vows yet so they dont have the full on nun gear yet. none of this applies to priestesses becuase they’re an entire different class tree tho and this is all headcanons anyways so it doesnt actually matter ajsdjjsdfkjsdjfjk LOL) and python. in the words of a japanese fic i read once “PYTHON IS NOT A VIRGIN” so its like. he is experienced in these things, has obvious interest in girls, he is lookin to B O N E and she aint jlkfsdsdkfkljdsfSDKJFKJDS

Meaning Of Life - First Impression

My first impression/review of Meaning Of Life, track by track. I listened to it for the first time all the way through. Then listened to it all the way through a second time while writing my review. Warning: I'm a fangirl.

1)A minute

Love this!!! Perfect. I actually like that its short it's a cool vibe.

2)Love so soft

One of my favorites on the album. Wish it was all Kelly doing all the vocals. That chorus though kills me yassss slay Kell. Favorite part of the song is the "you ain't had, you ain't had" and the end of the bridge. Also the bridge is fantastic. Everything this about this song I love. Great first single.

3)Heat

Love the energy right from the star. Chorus reminds me of the song animal by neon trees "whoa what are we waiting for" but the more I listen to the song I'm sure I'll lose that connection. It's so catchy. This should be a single. Bc of how catchy it is. Just don't like how "need more heat from ya baby, make me feel weak for you babe" sounds like it doesn't flow. Did anyone catch that high note at the end? I rewound about 5 times just to hear it again and again because it's great.

4)Meaning of Life

Probably my fave on the album so far. Her voice is actually perfect. I'm a huge fan of hard drums "when you kiss me I know who I am..." in her songs (save you) and this has it and I die. Musical production is perfect. How the song is laid out is perfect. Love the repetitions in 'life, life, life". Wouldn't change one single thing about this song. And that LIFEEEEEEeeEEEEE vocal perfection at the end, about 3:22- and I love how the music stops with the exception of a soft beat so her killing that lifEeeeeeEEEEEnote really stands out. Fading ending music reminds me of lightweight by Demi.

5)Move You

Love it. The background vocal 'oooo's are a bit off for my liking. Sounds too train-ish like a train whistle or something idk??. a bit too loud and throws off the easy vibe of Kelly's vocals. Love the low key she sang in. I'm moved yo. Man can she sang On that 3rd verse. Closing verse slays. Crazy vocal control.

8/10 bc bgvs oooos not a fan.

6)Whole Lotta Woman

Reminds me of uptown funk. With the woo woos, drums and horns. Fun song, love the hip hop beat on chorus. Not my fave just because I don't find myself relating bc I am not southern. Love Kelly's confidence and how sassy she is. Her passion and confidence radiates in this so much and it makes me feel so proud of her. Love her laugh at the end. I'm sure this will be my lowest played song on this album.

Good start. Love how she goes high so effortlessly. Chorus reminds me of old school and I love it so much. Though I was listening to to 'I don't think about you' at first bc of the lyrics. Sounds like a younger Kelly. Would rather have Kelly do all the parts instead of her bgvs. Very catchy def gonna be one of my faves.

9/10 (would be 12/10 if it was all Kelly)

8)Cruel

Vocal acrobatics!?! What!???!!yaaasss. Sounds like a live band. Her vocals are so clean and pure and amazing. Good song not my fave at first listen but I can tell the more I listen to it it's probably gonna become one of my faves (wasn't a fan of nostalgic at first but within like 2 days it became a favorite of mine). It really is a beautiful song. Kinda gets lost in the mix upon first listen of the album but still a good song.

First 4 seconds: YAS KELLY FUCK ME UP WHAT IS LIFE. Wait I know what life is this is life this album is the meaning of life. This album is life. This bass though. Her voice is sex. Kinda disappointed with the chorus- yes the chorus is amazing and catchy and slays but it doesn't seem to go with the verses. "this game is too ugly boy and these hands are tired from keeping you up....." I'm ded.

I hope the chorus grows on me (not the actual chorus but together as a whole song w the slayage verses.)

10)Would You Call That Love

I LOVE THIS COULD BE VERY SINGLE WORTHY. Seems to be most radio friendly. Her voice/the vibe sounds like it does in the demo/unreleased "I can't lose". I love the chorus and how the music sounds like it's just you and you're in an empty arena and it's just blasting from the stage- it sound so full and not crisp or sharp but that's what I love and I think that's what they were going for. The song to me doesn't have any parts that are flashy or stand out - kind of like War Paint it stays in one place. But unlike War Paint it works perfectly for this song (because it's on another level than WP). From start to finish it's amazing. MY FAVORITE SO FAR, possibly my favorite EVER?!

11)I Don't Think About You

Ok piano haven't heard this in a while.. Oh maybe this one for the single! Makes me sad that she felt this bad. But so happy she wrote it as a 'screw you' to RCA/Clive. Kinda reminds me of Beyoncé on the "you"s. definitely one of my early favorites. Her voice is so pure and clean and beautiful ughhh this woman is amazing. Love the e-e-e-e-e's, o-o-o,s. such an inspiring song that I hope so many people can hear this song and be motivated by it. Love all the layers of her voice at the end. Not a fan of how she says sanity. The vocals, the music, the cadence, the writing(!!!), and message.

12)Slow Dance

Not a huge fan. But I do love the music. Reminds me of of being a little kid at a small scale event with my mom with a live band playing which I think is totally cool! Honestly got kinda bored with this song. But once I learn the song and lyrics I'm sure I'll love it. Great song just not my favorite at first listen.

13)Don't You Pretend

Chorus is kinda creepy with the "I just wanna see, who you tryna be" in the background. Some parts kinda remind me of dangerous woman by ariana, some of the big vocals remind me of Demi.

14)Go High

My most highly anticipated song to listen to. The first 20 seconds I knew I was gonna love this song. Then it just keeps getting better. THIS NEEDS TO BE A SINGLE but it probably won't. It reminds me of Second Wind in the sense that it's at the end of the album (SW was a bonus track) and will probably get overlooked despite being one of the best on the album. YOOOOO THIS BREAKDOWN AT THE END I'M SHOOKETH. This needs to be a single. This song stands out for me, one of the most memorable.

BACK IN TIME: LADY GAGA PERFORMS AT THE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS CONCERT IN IN-HOUSE ATELIER

Lady Gaga took the stage at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday to both open and close the 54th Grammy Nominations concert. 

She was styled by Nicola Formichetti. Her insane skull makeup was made using the TEMPTU Pro air brush systems.

The songstress opened the event with “Marry The Night”, looking sickening in a dramatic black organza cloak with voluminous ruched collar by In-House Atelier and black satin peak lapel blazer with slit pockets.

Gaga also opted for her fave stage boots. It’s the Savannah lace-up corset vinyl boots from Penthouse.

For the closing performance, an absolutely stunning duet version of ‘Yoü and I’ she shared the stage with multi-platinum-selling country duo Sugarland for, Gaga wore yet another bespoke look. 

One shoulder black lamé silk faille gown with an oversized bow by Carolina Herrera.

After the concert, Gaga took the Clive Davis Theater stage for an intimate concert benefiting the Grammy Museum’s Education Initiative. 

The fabulously constructed black neoprene and heavy-bonded satin yoke dress she wore for this occasion belongs to Hogan McLaughlin’s Spring/Summer 2012 “Kaidan” collection.

This is how Hogan describes the inspiration behind his first entirely handmade collection: “A mysterious spectre or apparition, these vengeful ghosts, often women, become more powerful after death, and will usually conjure the element of water as a ghostly motif, as it is a pathway to the underworld in Japanese religion”.

Hogan began drawing and dancing at age two. After joining the contemporary ballet company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, at age 16, he had the opportunity to tour internationally and work with some of the world’s top artists and choreographers. A couple of year ago he decided to focus on his career in visual art working in large-scale ink pieces (some reaching 9 feet tall). Until earlier this year when he met Daphne Guiness who instantly fell in love with his drawings and ink on paper illustrations and changed his career path.

The years of touring as a dancer helped Hogan understand of how a garment has to move with the body and he chose to discover his own techniques for creating art and fashion, developing his own vision rather than submitting to formal training. He considers fashion an art, often spending over 100 hours to craft a single garment by hand.

Gaga completed the look with with a pair of custom made Brian Atwood black patent Mary Jane platform pumps.

Hey they're been alot of thoughts from Vikings last night, many are convinced that the raiding party raped the harem women. Idk I can't tell if it did or didn't happen. Do you think that both Bjorn and Rollo did that or do you think they would have shown it?

At the moment I’m on a Vikings hiatus, but I did see snippets of the scene you’re referring to. It’s no secret that Rollo has always been my favourite character. He was a complete asshole when we first met him, but that’s what attracted me to him - the promise of redemption. Whilst not perfect, Michael Hirst set out over the course of 3.5 (including 4a) seasons to show how flawed Rollo was, how living in the shadow of his infamous and successful brother was a burden he had trouble carrying. He loved Ragnar, but he also hated him; it was wonderfully complicated.

Then finally it all paid off. The misery, the self-loathing, the doubts all faded as Rollo finally stepped up and found his place. He made his mark. He had everything he’d ever wanted: success beyond measure, the love of a woman he could respect and the family he’s always craved. I was overjoyed. My fave was happy. YAY!

Then 4b happens and I’m left reeling. All the character development that was crafted over seasons came crashing down in one scene. I’ve said this before, but unlike many others, I can understand why Rollo feels conflicted. It makes sense to me. But the execution has been appalling. To think that the same man who craved a family of his own above all else would callously abandon them to raid makes no sense at all. It’s dumb. It obliterates all Rollo’s personal growth and reduces him to nothing but man suffering through a painfully clichéd midlife crisis. A badly executed one no less.

While I didn’t watch the episode in its entirety, I watched the raiding scene. I don’t know if I was meant to see Rollo’s smiles and general jubilation as a man who feels like he’s “home” again, but I just found it awkward and painful and cringeworthy. It didn’t seem like Rollo at all. At least not the man he’d become at the end of 4a. He’s regressed IMO to a lesser version of what he was when we first met him. At least S1 Rollo didn’t know any better. The current one sure as hell does.

As for the rape, I can’t be sure. On the one hand I can’t believe that these Viking men wouldn’t rape those women, considering how they look at them when they enter. (I’ve never judged Bjorn to be a rapist and other than that S1 incident, Rollo’s come a long way. Supposedly. But who knows? It’s all so gross.) However, I’ve grown used to Hirst being explicit when it comes to those acts, so if he doesn’t show it, maybe it didn’t happen? I can’t be sure. Also, like I mentioned before, I haven’t seen the whole episode.

I feel like historical Rollo has enough story to tell. With Clive Standen doing double duty at the moment and having less time on Vikings as a result, he could have been better used showing us what he’s achieved in Normandy. Carelessly throwing him into Bjorn’s journey is disjointed and pointless considering it contributes nothing to his character development.

I’m sure you can tell I’m salty af.
