people actually went on about how game of thrones made it socially acceptable to be a fantasy nerd, as though the lord of the rings movies hadn't been released less than a decade earlier and left far greater cultural ripples and i am just
got may have made the adults feel better about liking fantasy, but lotr got into the kids' heads when they (we) were just young and impressionable enough to be absolutely transported and emotionally rewritten by don't you leave him, samwise gamgee and my brother, my captain, my king and and rohan will answer
lotr was rewriting entire generations' brain chemistry long before asoiaf and so obviously it's not fair to compare any post-lotr fantasy novel to it, and each book series was trying to do different things within their own spheres and so that also is not a fair comparison, but in terms of the cultural impact of the adaptations that came out within a decade of each other, saying that it was game of thrones that made fantasy mainstream is baffling
game of thrones could only run because the lord of the rings movies laid the path, and i will die on this hill
Whenever Ikie and TK are away/busy, he either tends to his garden, visit the forest, chat with the other villagers, or bake some pastries.
Liam loves flowers and gardening. At the side of his and TK's cottage, they have a mini garden that grows flowers and veggies.
He usually makes bouquets and flower crowns with the flowers and sells them at the market area.
Sometimes asks Ikie with gardening help, especially with magic.
People often mistake him for a child due to his height. But its only because he's an elf.
Has a bit of a tummy pudge!
With the help of some of the fairies from Tinglewing village, they were able to cast a shapeshifting spell that flattened his chest.
Also doesn't like swearing, like TK.
Lee also likes to call TK as "Terry"
Loves all things soft. He has a huge plush collection that he's super proud of, and loves comfy and oversized clothing.
Ticklishness: 10/10
Worst Spots: Tummy, Sides, Ears
Laughter: Squealy and bubbly. Gets higher pitched the more intense the tickles get.
Squirms a lot unless he's in a tickle hug.
They're also a big fan of tickly kisses (Mostly from his boyfriends only).
He prefers more gentle or playful tickling. On rare occassions he does want to get wrecked.
Raspberries are an absolute killer for them, especially on his tum.
They also love feather tickles, or other soft tickle tools like makeup brushes or paintbrushes.
His ears and neck are a huge melt spot. Loves gentle tickles there, especially with feathers.
They blush easily to teases and shyly tries to hide it behind his sleeves.
Most of the time, he's able to ask for tickles, but there are also some times when he's too shy to do so. So instead he gives hints and tries to make it as obvious as possible (Ex: Giving the ler a feather).
Very cuddly after recieving tickles. Be prepared to cuddle for like 20 minutes or more. If his lers are TK and/or Ikie, he'll give them a hecking ton of kisses as a thanks.
Its rare for him to tickle someone since he's too shy to do so. But the only people he can tickle without regret is TK and Ikie. But he can only do a few pokes and scribbles before getting flustered.
I forget if you or Aria has talked about it before but what's the dynamic between Volo and Bellefleur like? like, is it solidly "bastian has two hands" and everything's cool -- ie Bellefleur sees Volo as part of husband's enrichment, Volo sees Bellefleur as The Lady Of His Lord standing as Bastian's equal regardless of whether he may or may not exalt her personally to the same degree as he does Bastian -- or is there any hint of tension? (also, cannot stress enough how much I love hearing about all of these characters, hope that Bastian is successful when attacks and dethrones God eventually <3)
You've hit it bang on, honestly.
Bellefleur feels very warm and proprietary towards Volo, who she met when he was just a puppy; now he's a terrifying hound at Bastian's heel, and Bellefleur couldn't be more pleased. It's good for husband to have a devoted servant who worships him, it serves as a constant reminder to husband of his full heaven-rending potential. Volo is also the sworn champion of Bastian and Bellefleur's little daughter, Rosemary, which Bellefleur would not allow (she is a fairy and she has a child all her own, the most precious thing) if she did not trust him completely.
For his part, Volo is in awe of Bellefleur, the most perfect lady for His Lord. She is wise and beautiful and ruthless, but more important than any of that, she sees Bastian clearly. To Volo, someone who feels like he lives in a world of fools who cannot see that God Himself is among them, Bellefleur is like a breath of fresh air. Volo reveres her because she is Bastian's Wife, and because she understands what that means.
Double shift last weekend and this is the only picture I got (which my coworker actually took with me for her Facebook story RIGHT when I looked like shit and it was low effort makeup day because I had to be there early to open the bar)
