Okay I'm like 10 levels in Lego DC Villains. Safe to say.

I do not understand the boss fights mechanics at all.

That day was the last time he saw her smile.

It surely was one of the worst days of her life yet she still found strength in herself to smile.

Smile for his sake.

Because while he let himself be consumed by feelings of guilt, self-hatred and disgust at his self-centeredness she had closed the gap between them, sharing her warmth and thanking him with genuine gratitude.

To someone like him, who has been nothing but inconsiderate and awful, she has vouched for his goodness.

To him, who has never given her a chance and blinded himself to all the signs out of stubbornness, she looked straight into his eyes, willing to hear what he had to say.

It made his heart drop as he thought how unjust and unfair this whole arrangement was.

She gave so much yet she never received nearly as much back if anything at all.

She should smile for herself too.

She deserved to be happy.

It was a constant and fervent wish of his since that day.

A prayer.

Because Miller had closed herself off entirely.

He would rather have her teasing him, laughing cheekily, eyes sparkling in humor than this eerie vagueness that permeated her whole demeanor.

It was almost as if she wasn't quite there. Her eyes and voice sounded distant, so far away that it almost made him feel like she was out of his reach.

He shuddered.

That last part never failed to make a chill crawl up his spine, but the moments when she did snap out of her stupor were what truly made him feel sick. Because of the 'why' it managed to pierce the veil of emptiness.

She got quieter and quieter the more memories of Johannes surfaced.

She could no longer hide her pain.

It hurt to see how she slowly wasted away.

One day Miller appeared covered in bandages.

"Miller, what are those?!" He asked, frantic, as he held her arm(carefully to not risk hurting her).

"...I was training" she replied, voice barely a whisper. "To get stronger"

Oh.

He let out a breath he didn't even notice he was holding in the first place as he let go of her arm, heart beating erratically in his ribcage.

His hand was trembling.

He thought... He thought...

It had frightened him.

"Miller don't... Don't do this to yourself". He tried to control the shaking in his voice. "It can't be good for you"

"I know that". She lowered her gaze. "It won't do any good if I can't act on time for having supbar physi-"

"I'm not talking about work". He cut her off, making her head snap up, in surprise. "I'm talking about you. It can't be good for you"

"I..." She choked, voice hoarse with barely restrained anguish. "I don't know what I should do"

She pressed her head agaisnt his chest, hands gripping the fabric of his shirt like a lifeline as her shoulders shook.

She was crying.

"I can't apologize, I can't fix the situation, I can't make up to him"

He felt so useless.

He couldn't think of anything to say, anything to make her feel better.

The only thing he could do was wrap his arms around her, hiding her face from the world as she slowly crumbled apart.

She felt so small in his hold.

Was she always this small? This frail? This thin?

How many other details escaped his scrutiny because he was too focused in useless matters?

It was like a reality check for him.

He was made painfully aware how little he knew about her. How little he understood her.

How much of a stranger he was to her.

He thought it was an onesided thing. That Johannes got the wrong idea by mistaking Miller's overly kind disposition as it being something more than their relationship as boss and subordinate.

He was so naive.

They were close. They had history together.

It was something he later found out by asking around his peers.

Miller wasn't suffering so much because she felt responsible for failing someone under her care.

She was suffering because she lost someone dear to her.

It made him wonder...

If he was the one who perished that day would Johannes be able to comfort her?

In the first place would she have cared for him nearly as much? Cried so loudly as she did that day?

He couldn't blame her if she didn't.

After all it was his fault for never trying to get know her better. To get closer to her.

He wanted to fix this.

He didn't want to be someone that barely classified as an "acquaintance" in her life anymore.

He was determined to do so but...

He found something even more disheartening.

He wasn't the only one that never tried to know more about her. Outside of gossips and the little tidbits over Johannes' relationship with her no one knew anything else about Miller.

It put in perspective how terribly lonely and isolated she was and why she had to constantly force herself to put a strong front and shoulder everything thrown her way.

It shouldn't be like this. She shouldn't have to do that.

She shouldn't have to struggle so much to the point of fainting over exhaustion.

He found her sleeping on her desk, documents scattered bellow the arms she used as a pillow.

He was almost reaching for her to shake her awake to tell her to go home and rest but stopped mid gesture.

When was the last time she had any semblance of rest?

The skin that wasn't covered by bandages looked pale, she had lost weight and he could see dark and puffy circles under her closed eyes.

She looked absolutely haggard.

It would be better to leave her be.

"...No"

A small, breathy noise broke the silence of the empty room.

Miller frowned in her sleep.

"No... Please..."

Her entire body trembled, her plea desperate.

"...Johannes"

"It's a nightmare Miller" he whispered softly as he gently stroked her hair. "It's just a bad dream"

"...Hunter?" She mumbled. Her body stopped trembling.

"Yes, I am here. You are safe" he took his blazer off, draping it over her shoulders. "...And I'm not going anywhere else. I won't leave you"

I won't leave you alone anymore.

Last Minute Predictions

This post will simply be my last minute predictions before leaks come out for 253 tomorrow. Basing these on the previews and my own theories thus far.

TLDR: These are just educated guesses based on 252. Take them with a grain of salt. I just want bragging rights if I'm correct.

“Itadori and Jujutsu Tech slowly corner Sukuna but…”

The jjh forces have surrounded Sukuna and watch on as Maki faces him 1v1. Kusakabe said their final strategy relied on her and that her fight was the best and worse case scenario. This hint in the preview likely alludes to the fact that Yuta, who aimed to finish Sukuna, could not. Now everyone has to bet on Maki, the last of the trio foreshadowed by Kenjaku. Events in the chapter will stress how dire it is for Maki to finish this.

“Special grade battle is getting expanded!!”

The word battle confuses me here. Does battle refer to the fight against Sukuna? There aren't any more official special grade sorcerers in the fight since Yuta's been critically injured, so none can suddenly join. Jjh higher-ups have been killed, so I doubt anyone will have been given an official title. Likely, someone will be referred to as having power equal to that of a special grade sorcerer.

When Ino and Kusakabe discuss plans to overwhelm and corner Sukuna in Yuta's domain, Kusakabe remarks that it's dangerous to fight alongside SGs in the plural. He's likely referring to Maki here since Ino was saying they could all jump Sukuna. Kusakabe rejects the idea, saying it's best to let Maki do her own thing. Again, events in this chapter will stress Maki being recognized as a special grade, or equal to them (I don't consider Maki a sorcerer for thematic purposes).

“Defeat the invincible monster!!”

I believe this is a purposeful double entendre. Both Maki and Sukuna fit this monster description. I've exhausted this connection between the two already, so I won't get into it. I believe this statement reflects both Maki's and Sukuna's goals in this fight: defeat the invincle monster.

Sukuna's invincibility will derive from his being the strongest sorcerer and fighting with a hole where his heart should be.

Maki's invincibility will derive from her dodging abilities and sustainability against Sukuna's attacks. Likely, Sukuna will use black box to try and defeat this monster that's invincible against his usual slash attacks.

I am loving the newish Invincle show. I read all the Invincible comics like 10 years ago and absolutely loved them, so I've been hesitant to watch the show because I've already been told it's kind of different. I sometimes have a hard time watching apadptations of things I love because I have this vision of how it should be. Anyways my point- I think about this one bit at towards the end of the comics where there are multiple dimension and so there are hundreds of Marks from different dimensions and our Mark is appalled to learn that he is one of the best Marks, all the other Marks are a little more evil or less moral or whatever than him and it bummed him out a little bit bc he didn't really like himself all that much at the time and he was starting to go down a darker path. I think about this at least once a week. Idk there was something special about comic Mark, the way he grew and changed happened so beautifully in front of your eyes, it truly changed the way I view character development in everything else I'm always comparing it to Mark's arcs (<- I'm funny).

SMOKING LIFE PT.3

After that day I started smoking 2 packs per day and some small cigars, some days even more (or including a cigar). In my 16th birthday I smoked several cigars with my friends, to introduce them to the smoking world. Obviously, I went to my uncle's house and I smoked a Cohiba with him while we drank Chivas (that whiskey is fucking good). My nicotine addiction continued until I found a girlfriend. She tried to disuade me from smoking, because she hated that I smoked in the bed after we had fucked or while she was giving me a blowjob. I stopped smoking for some weeks but we finally split up. I returned to my smoking routine, increasing the amount of tobacco I smoked. My parents didn't think I smoked because my uncle was the perfect alibi. In every important event (weddings, NYE, etc) I always wore my suit and tie and I carried a bunch of cigars that my uncle gave me. My graduation was the same but with more alcohol (whiskey, champagne, shots) and tons of smoke. In that night I smoked 2 packs of reds, 10 smalls cigars, 5 big cigars and some joints. In that days when you could smoke wherever you wanted, almost everyone of my friends smoked (2/3 packs a day was normal). My best friend started when I did, but he didn't smoke as much as me. Maybe 1 pack a day, some joints and sometimes a cigar with me. Once a week we organised smoke sessions in a friend's house. Every member of my friends' group was reunited in a closed room and we started to smoke. The last person to cough was paid their weekly tobacco by the rest. I used to win almost every week because when I lighted the second cigar or a big pipe, I filled the room with lots of smoke and they weren't used to that. With the money given, I used to buy several cigar boxes to train my friends to try to beat me. However, I was almost invincle because of my uncle's training. I used to smoke with him twice a week until I went to university. Lots of cigars and pipes shared with a good drink. I would miss that moments the next months.
