I STILL think about Paper Girls honestly. That series rocked. Believable teenage girls who were also INCREDIBLY fucked up and time shenanigans. It’s been too long since I read it for me to really analyze it but I SHOULD reread it.

#The indie comics scene used to be INSANE and also VERY GOOD and I haven’t kept up with anything since covid #God. Paper girls occupied my mind in a similar way to the locked tomb for so long. #I should get back into indie comics. The last time I tried I discovered the reason I couldn’t find info on the series was a huge lawsuit #Like do you enjoy Fucked Up teenagers? Do you enjoy Time Shenanigans? Do you enjoy Strange Esoteric Wars? Do you enjoy lesbians? #I don’t think I actually ever read anything else that was from image. Paper girls was just that good #Paper girls #Wait actually. maybe. I think Isola was image but id have to have a volume on hand to check #this is kind of funny because they share an author and Saga was Hot Shit (hotter shit than paper girls) but I never actually liked Saga! #It was based on a interspecies het romance that I found deeply boring. It sucked in that standard way that het romance tends to #I hope they haven’t had the publishers bought out that would suck so much

Fic Concept:

Tali'Zorah is, if she does say so herself, something of an expert in galactic romance. Her omnitool hosts a 6 terabyte collection of romance and romcom vids from across the spectrum of known species, and after that much media exposure, she's fairly sure she's familiar with all the ins and outs of each culture's dating milestones.

She knows, for example, that family members have certain duties in a clan member's new relationship, in human cultures. As one of Shepard's closest friends, she also knows that the poor thing has no family to fulfil those duties for her.

Determined to see Shepard and Garrus's relationship turn into Shepard and Garrus's marriage, she starts handing out responsibilities to appropriate members of the Normandy crew. Shenanigans ensue.

(AKA the one in which Tali is convinced common romcom tropes are actually essential milestones in any human romantic relationship, and takes steps to make sure Shep and Garrus get to experience them.)

Ideas that made me horf:

- Wrex, as Shepard's oldest and closest (deeply violent) male associate, is enlisted to give Garrus the if you break her heart, I'll end you speech usually performed by the father, on a visit to Tuchanka. Maybe he absolutely knows Tali has misread this, and lowkey gives the speech over shots of ryncol, wheezing about how Shep would kill Garrus just fine herself. Maybe he has no idea this isn't an actual important human ritual, and performs his part with ceremonial gusto. Anyway, he does it, and somehow manages to be vaguely heartwarming about it anyway or gives Garrus some sign of approval.

- Mordin, as the oldest male friend on the Normandy, is tasked with interrogating Garrus at "Family Dinner". He does so, but very few of the questions he asks are actually relevant to the typical Meet The Parents dinner, and Shepard actually learns a few new things about Garrus herself.

- Joker volunteers to be "mom" and bring out the baby pictures to show Garrus. He doesn't have any pictures of Shepard as an actual baby, but he does have some funny or embarrassing ones from their time serving together under Captain Anderson he's been itching to share, and that's almost the same thing. She's more baby there than she is now, anyway.

- Tali strongly encourages Garrus to spend time "bonding" with Grunt. It's very important to make sure your future wife's child knows he is included in your new family unit, Garrus! An eventful trip to the zoo/museum/etc ensues.

- Bonus wedding chapter where Wrex is bullied into formal wear to walk Shep down the aisle; Jack paints Cipritine face markings on Grunt thinking they're Vakarian family markings and then sets him loose on Garrus's extended family, who are all very confused as to how this young krogan is apparently from Cipritine; Zaeed gives a hilariously inappropriate speech as Best Man and accidentally outs Garrus as Archangel in front of Aria T'Loak; Kasumi attempts to hook up with Jacob in a time-honoured tradition of inadvisable bridesmaid/groomsman couplings, and Mordin makes use of his STG training to break into the honeymoon suite to leave a tasteful gift basket of sex aids on the bed, because Tali has banned him from giving them in front of the guests.

Just. Interfering Interspecies Crew Way Off Base But Have Loving Intentions. And in the end Shepard is deeply exasperated, but also very touched by the effort put in by the people that love them, and honestly lowkey glad that they got to experience those cliche moments after all.

Bonus points: crewmembers who really do see Shepard/Garrus as family also trying to share their traditions with her/him. Like, if a krogan warrior convinces a fertile female to join his clan, that's a big deal and maybe the clan throws a huge feast and party to celebrate, so Wrex does that for them. Or maybe asari pass hereditary jewelry from mother to daughter to be worn at the first bonding ceremony to a beloved life partner, so Samara lends Shep hers to wear for the wedding. Shit like that.

What kind of content would you like to see from me after TPiaG is finished uploading?

I’ve got a lot of storylines I could pursue that are TPiaG-adjacent (like my 5,000 branching AUs), or I could try and continue the fic chronologically somehow. Alternatively, I could start a new fic with some original PMD characters of mine— or even try branching out into some more fandoms or posting my original work!

Here’s a list of some of my stuff I’ve posted about previously to provide some ideas, but don’t feel bound to discussing them alone:

Mortality Exchange AU: A TPiaG alternate storyline where Twig manages to kill Darkrai during the Dark Crater fight and becomes his replacement as the Legend of Nightmares.

Dugtrio Day AU: A PMD2 AU about a new Hero and Partner that revolves around a time loop, how it affects the Hero, and how she breaks out of it and deals with the aftermath.

Legends Lost: An original storyline set in the same universe as TPiaG, but starring an almost entirely original cast and plot.

Peepaw + Isekai’d Cat: A duo of PMD OCs— Necrozma and the once-human litten who helps him recover his true form by giving him hope— and their daily lives.

Paradox Fam: A group of PMD OCs starring a human-turned-flutter mane and said human’s adopted mother and father, a slither wing and iron moth, who hate each other’s guts.

Team Crypt: An exploration team of PMD OCs who solve mysteries in a manner that rivals the shenanigans of Scooby Doo and the Mystery Gang.

The Creeping Chronicles (at end of post): A fantasy story about bug people with trauma which has evolved rapidly and dramatically from when I impulsively uploaded a prologue in comic form.

Room 214: A stand-alone short comic about a reluctant exorcist and a friendly ghost that I think could be expanded upon into a broader storyline.

The Name-Oath: A two-part original story about a mortal woman who divorces a fairy prince after an ugly falling-out, and his desperate efforts to get back together.

THIMBLEQUEST: An original video game concept about a tiny moth knight who’s on a quest to find the seven holy thimbles and save the land from an ancient threat.

Unnamed Pokémon Gym Story: A mainline Pokémon OC that is a weather-enthusiast pokemon trainer and her golisopod who keeps bringing home injured bug-types.

Homebound: An Among Us fanfic featuring interspecies adoption, unlikely friendships, tragic backstories, and angst. A lot of angst.

Massive Art OC Dump: (This links to a summary of a lot of original projects with art associated with them.)

With a quiet hum Hunson pulled back the sleeve of his suit, looking at his clock and glancing back at Princeton, calmly resting over his lap. The demon cleared his throat and spoke with a firm tone.

Before the poor cat could say anything, his master strutted out the door, barely able to keep his composure as he plotted a surprise for his fluffy boyfriend. As time went on, Princeton quickly separated the small pile of files into three different piles: pain, pleasure and weird punishments.

The task was simple enough and the cat was done in under half an hour, worriedly making his way back home, trying to think about the possibility of something he had done that could've upset Hunson. Princeton's blood ran cold for a moment, thinking about his usual shenanigans as he spent most of the day teasing Hunson. Bending over seductively and grinding against his lap at any given opportunity.

Worry made his stomach turn at the thought of having genuinely upset his beloved master, causing him to pause for a moment before stepping into their home. With a deep and sharp breath, the cat walked inside, met with an oddly empty and silent house.

"Hunson? Are you home?"

As Princeton made his way around, a quiet sound of humming caught his attention, making his ears turn towards it. The cat made his way upstairs, being met with their bedroom's door closed, Hunson's voice whirring gently behind it.

The cat gently opened the door, the nervousness that had taken over him instantly melting away at the sight before him. His master laid entirely bare, except for a brand new, shiny pair of red boots. Hunson adjusted his pose just slightly, so that he could properly catch Princeton's reaction.

"There you are, I thought you'd take longer... Come on, let me see that pretty face of yours."

Unable to get any words out of his throat, the cat gulped for a moment, slowly walking towards his master as his tail swayed gently behind him. Once at hand's reach, Hunson scooped Princeton up, carefully placing him on his lap and placing a small kiss to his cheek as his hands wandered.

"My my... You were up and at it today, huh? Did you think I wouldn't notice the way you were teasing me? You must've really needed me to touch you, huh?"

A small jolt made it's way through the feline's spine, an anxious stutter being all he could manage to let out.

"I... I.."

Hunson shushed him, chucking as his hands weighed Princeton down against his crotch, having his tentacle squirm around underneath the cat.

"Shh... You know what happens when you misbehave like that, don't you my dear? Go on now, get on your knees so I can remind you of a brat's place."

A heat of warmth surrounded Princeton's face as he obeyed the command of his master, sitting over his heels as he looked up at the demon above him, a nervous but expectant smile forming on his face.

With a quick flick of his legs, Hunson positioned one of his boots directly in front of Princeton, a mischievous grin slowly growing as his voice purred down at the cat.

"Show me how much you need me to touch you. Now's your chance to be my little whore."

Princeton quickly wrapped his arms around Hunson's leg, sitting over it's vamp and desperately humping into it as small, muffled whines escaped his lips.

Hunson watched the scene, reaching his hand down to stroke the top of the cat's head, chuckling at the sight of Princeton desperately licking the bright red leather in front of him.

It didn't take long for Princeton's voice to get louder, his whines longer and his moans clearer, Hunson could tell he was close to cumming. Without a word, the demon simply allowed his beloved cat to finish all over his boot, watching how his eyes rolled back and how his whole body quivered at the feeling.

Once Princeton's limbs became more limp, Hunson pushed him down on his back, pressing his boot over the cat's chest, watching how is eyes darted around desperately.

With a barely audible tone, Princeton's voice escaped his throat, quiet and shaky.

The word caused Hunson to abruptly pull Princeton into a deep kiss, towering over him as he placed the cat on his back, feeling how his cock desperate twitched underneath him.

Moans and whines could be heard through the kiss, the vibrations of it all reverberating against Hunson's throat. The demon allowed his tongue to slither into Princeton's mouth and throat, holding him down in place with his sharp claws.

Oof which specific post? I have several because “person from around modern times wakes up at some point in Star Trek future” is one of my favorite types of ocs

I have frozen if I don’t want or need them to be really good at science or have astronaut knowledge, and then I have ocs that end up in the future through wormholes when I want specifically spaceship shenanigans

The frozen ones can range from angst from people adjusting to their loved ones and everything they know being gone (especially if they were kidnapped and frozen against their will and god how horrifying would that be to alien species? That humans would do that to their own kind?)

To healing (these ones were usually frozen for health reasons, they already made peace with dying and losing their loved ones, but when they wake up they have a new lease on life and learn how to enjoy living)

To romance (not only interspecies relationship shenanigans, but also because of the time differences)

To just humorous situations (most current one is people being aware that there’s someone from the past in the area, and trying to figure out who, thinking that anyone from pre-First Contact would have no idea how to act when surrounded by aliens, but they’re just chilling, they adjusted to everything pretty well, no even suspects the actual person it is)

And then miscellaneous (favorite of this one is just,, someone who can make stuff by hand pretty well, like knitting, and while other humans might not really care cause replicators can just make it instantly, other species are pretty excited by it like “humans can just,, make that?? By hand?? And it’s really soft???” it’s v self indulgent but! this is the self indulgent blog)

Have a teasing/ rivalry relationship between a rough and tumble werewolf girl who has to be tutored by the class snooty nerd vampire who would rather stand out in the sun and burn to death than deal with his rival. However, as they learn about each other and highschooler shenanigans happen they eventually becoming friends and even more later on.

More Gay/ Lesbian romances with monsters! Two muscular gruff orcs having wholesome boyfriend moments. Like, they are just the sweetest couple you have EVER met. Okay okay this took forever but it was so much fun AHHHH!

More about this au-

First things first Capt. Huggyface is NOT an ape in this au! He’s a human (or human passing alien) lmao. He left his home planet of Lexicon to scout out new territories for the government, but unbeknownst to him a tiny kitten snuck on to his spaceship!

Like in the show he crashlanded on earth, except this time THIS earth is populated solely by intelligent animal life. He can understand them, but they can not understand him, but soon he realizes that the kitten that accidentally came with him CAN speak to him and speak for him. It’s basically the same as in the show, except with animal shenanigans and Huggy being like way taller the Becky and also she’s legit just a cat

He sets up shop in the woods, but the Botsfords find them and adopt Becky. Huggy doesn’t go with them in this au though because he feels weird being under the care of a dog and kangaroo, and he’s a grown man. Through Becky, he becomes friends with them though and hangs out with them and Becky often. He kinda just, is the only person on earth and every animal finds him facinating at first. 

Some other minor changes:

- Squeaky was Boxlietner’s evil lab assistant. He was jealous of Steven’s genius so he tricked him into trying to create a mind reading device, that Squeaky rigged so that Boxlietner’s brain would merge onto his. It went wrong, and Squeaky became attached to the doctor.

-General Smoochington is Victoria’s Butler

-Lil Mittens is Butcher’s adopted baby

-Any pets shown in the show are generally now roomates, friends, or family members

-When it comes to interspecies couples it works like in Bojack Horseman where the kids are one species or the other, it’s best not to think about it too hard

-They do have animal instincts when I want them too otherwise don’t worry about it

-Yes they still eat meat but it’s strictly seafood, this goes for the Butcher’s whole thing too, learnerer is an alien and hyperintelligent

Everything else is pretty much the same! This is more of an excuse for me to draw animals because I like drawing them more then people KDJDS Also warning I will actively be ignoring correct heights in the future

I will happily explain any of the animal choices whifwdkjs thanks to everyone who helped me with them too

-Johnson is a cheetah because he’s a nervous child and also they put Puppies and Cheetah Kittens together to comfort each other in captivity, TELL ME THAT ISN’T TJHONSON

-Okay everyone around me said Miss Question is an Owl and i’m PRETTY sure it’s for the sole reason because owls say “who”. It also works because she can fly though and got her powers at night

-Dtb sometimes gets carried away with cackling evilly and starts howling. Becky, living with two dogs, knows to just wait it out. He also wags his tail but since it’s a mouse tail it looks really silly

-Both Glen and Tobey say they’re wolves and DTB is getting real sick of the appropriation

-Nocan’s tusks are disturbingly powerful

-Whammer whams by rearing up and hitting his hooves on the ground

-Butcher can roar out meat aswell as shoot through his paws

-Dtb once threatened to eat Steve McClean because of how fed up he got. Becky hissed at the mousebrain to get him to stop and “play fair”

-Violet is sooo physically awkward, being a fawn

-Scoops climbs on his friends a lot to take pictures and get a better view

-The scene where mr big is climbing his statue and is like “Haha you can’t get me now wordgirl!” because he forgot she can fly happens all the time, because he flies up and forgets that she has superpowers. She can not only fly without wings but has superspeed, so like, what was your plan there Big guy

overall skirt that is both meant to mimic an art smock, and to be covered in paint/chalk splotches

top has a collar and puff sleeves, probably pastel to go with her hair

potentially a scarf that’s tie-dyed or splattered

accessories are art themed, like a purse that looks like an art pallet that opens up on a hinge, or she has a whole portfolio case 

the art class Ula shoes, but cast in something other than white

she’s the art girl, always working in the art room, covered in paint/chalk. probably has a side plot where she was doing a mural in a hallway, and like Heath’s shenanigans chasing Deuce or something messes it up

again, she’s deaf, so another side plot where she’s working in the art room and stuff’s going boom in the background she misses (like Stan in Amazing Spiderman)

still purple, maybe a bluer shade? but please not a pale lavender shade X.X

hair color/s don’t change, but she’s rooted in braids now

leg brace is canon. it’d be the opposite leg that Frankie has. and honestly...probably rarely bothers her unless she’s plot focused and over coming setbacks is the lesson for the week

tall body like Frankie, maybe even a bit buffer because she did grow up in the jungle

she is standoffish at first, due to her homeschooled background, but again plot has her overcoming that and getting the other ghouls to see she isn’t a mean loner girl...probably after they catch her hiding during lunch and talking to animals

she’s smart. like really smart. her dads are scientists after all. it’s just her social skills are lacking.

speaking of, her dads are canon now. you can change Moreau to Scareou if you wanna copywrite things (plus him becoming a werejaguar is probably he was always one now)

but this not only gives her 2 dads, but an interspecies set of parents who adopted a child not of either of their species. so there’s another lesson of the week.

she’s also staying with a host family. preferably the Trotters, but who knows if Avea’s still canon. but again, being separated from her home and learning to open up, that's another lesson of the week.

she wears animal print/leopard spotted prints. but her clothes also kind of lowkey clash/don’t make sense at first. like shorts with the oversized chunky sweater.

again, learning social norms and cues. at first she just dresses what is comfy, then plot of the week gives her a “trendy makeover” and she finds she’s uncomfortable, so she goes back to her old clothes with a little update because she did learn something from the terrible makeover.

Andy can be her dads’ intern if he isn’t his own character. she has a crush on him, but doesn’t realize what that is until she tells one of the ghouls, and they explain it, and now she’s over whelmed. but again, same lesson as before; you try it the new way and it sucks, so go back to what makes you comfortable. Andy does reciprocate though, because he too is an awkward dork.
