Not any incorrect quotes today, but I give you some short facts, about the ship dynamic here.

Which means Jaya & Lavashipping Petrichorshipping!

So let's START!

[Jaya]

Is very similar to the canon, but of course has it's difference.

Begining:

Jay is very much interested in Nya from the beginning, especially after seeing her fight and noticing how strong she is.

At first Nya thinks that Jay's flirting attempt are cute and pretty, so she let it go.

Later they start working together as ninjas and it makes they relationship improve faster. They are good teammates, who can work together good and chick someone’s ass.

Later:

Jay finnaly decides to ask Nya on a date and she agrees, beacuse she wants to find out if something would come from this.

The date turns into a battlefield against their enemies. But surprisingly, it didn't ruin it for her. Fighting side by side actually made the date more interesting and broke the ice.

As their first date turned out to be successfully, they start going out more often.

On the Destiny's Bounty they discover that both are interested in engineering and tinkering with gadgets.

When they work together on something Nya is often a welder with her fire powers and Jay is an electric.

Later they start dating, find more about each other and star building a healthy relationship.

The love traingle:

It never existed actually.

Yes, Nya made a love-test on the maschine, because the kids in the class wanted her to do it, but she didn't take it that seriously.

Nya is independent ninja, who truly forged a strong bond with Jay, not only romantically but also as a close friendship as a teammate, strengthened by shared interests and common challenges. She know what she wants.

Nya mocks the test result saying that Cole is only interested in cake.

Cole is never interested in Nya or she in him.

Jay would find out about the test results from Pixal and would only feel a little bad, thinking that there is someone better for Nya.

Nya would knock those silly thoughts out of his head, and everything would go back to normal.

Here things are more complicated.

Begining:

At the begining there isn't that much to say, because they are stranger to each other.

Kai is mostly focused on his sister and doesn't form any bonds with Nya's teammates. (I mean out of the blue your sister becomes a ninja and starts throwing fire from her hands, who wouldn't?)

In the meantime Cole is cusually spending his time with Jay & Zane as always.

They pretty much don't interract.

After Kai's feel more secure about Nya's safety there, then he starts more talk with others and even play video games with them.

Later:

Everything changes much after some incidents, which inclused water, when Kai had almost a panic attack.

Everyone besides Nya were suprised by his behaviour and after that incident and some explanation everyone knew how to react in similar kind of situation.

One time Cole would help Kai during his panic attack, when Destiny's Bounty would crush into water and in that way Cole'd gain some Kai's trust.

After that their relationship would improve a little and they would start interract more.

Later Kai would even ask Cole about training with him, because well Kai wants to be usefull and support his sister. [We wants to be as good as ninjas, be a part of team]

They would start training together and enjoy each others company. Talking, joke, later play video games, or even cook- [because Kai can cook and Cole like to eat]

They would slowly fall for each other.

Suprisingly Cole would be the first one to realise that-

Jay would notice Cole having a crush and surely taste him about that later.

Crushing time:

At the beginning of the reboot season. After the the kids were about to go on a trip, Cole in the last second akwardly ask Kai on a date.

Kai is taken aback, because he didn't expect that, but also akwardly agrees with a smile.

They never go on that date, because Zane 'dies'.

They don't talk for a long time until next season, because of the mess.

Kai isn't interested in Skylor or even interracts with her at all. [Instead Nya became a pretty good friends with her at the end of the season]

In the next season eveything becomes a big mess. Kai finds out about being master of water. And he needs overcome his fear of water.

In the meantime Cole becomes a ghost :(

Cole & Kai show each other a lot of support during this time and there's this big weird tension, because there is definitely something going on between them and both of them knew it. There was too much going on to just resolve it.

This situation make them also very flustrated and sad, because well they can't even hug each other show support.

In the season Skybound season Kai would face some misandrist from interview/medias, because he became a new ninja member. All of his friends would show him support and ect. At that time Cole & Kai would go out somewhere, but just as friends.

After Cole becomes human again, everyone becomes better.

After a lot of thinking Kai decides not to waste time and juat ask Cole on a date, to which he agrees without a second thought.

After that they pretty much get together.

And that's pretty much about it. I hope it was interesting or something..

Sorry, in my native language there are no gendered pronouns. We just have a singular he/she/they for everyone. I use he/him for me (despite being a woman) because it's what rolls off the tongue easier for me. For everyone else I use they/them because you can never go wrong with neutral.

Are you actually attracted to nunalastor?

Honestly, the only time I've experienced attraction (i think? Still unsure if it was that) was with one girl at my uni and the feeling I have for nunalastor is very similar. It's not the exact kinda feeling but I have a very strong desire to make them proud. Not sure exactly what it is but no, I don't want to actually fuck them and I don't want to kiss them. That seems gross. I do however wanna hold their hand and recieve headpats from them. Idk just know me as the nunalastor simp, that's easier to explain.

Rarepair New Year 2024 ch8: Sans/Error, Bad bro AU

Error has been checking on the original universe a lot lately.

He usually doesn't pay it much attention anymore, what with being busy keeping up with the new alternate universes that are born everyday and are invading the story. His hatred for each and every one of them hasn't wavered since the day he was born, and it's a daily struggle to destroy them enough that they cannot be resurrected.

He remembers how he used to check on Undertale all the time back in the day, when he could count the number of alternate universes on the fingers of one hand. Things were simpler back then, and he misses that time when he could take a peek at Undertale and marvel at the happy faces of his beloved original characters.

They're all treasures to him. Toriel, Papyrus, Grillby, the dog, Asgore, Temmie, Alphys and Undyne…

Sans.

Sans is special. He's always been, for Error anyway. He's a part of him, but also not. Being nothing but a string of coding in a simulation, Error doesn't believe in any deity, but if he had to, he'd choose Sans. That's how important the skeleton is to Error.

Call it a crush, Error doesn't mind. He's given up a long time ago putting words onto the adoration he feels for Sans. Sans is special to him and that's all that matters.

Error has always taken great pleasure observing Sans. He never interracts, rarely even pays Undertale an actually visit because even when he does, he needs to stay hidden and make sure no one sees him. They're not aware of the alternate universes in Undertale, it's still only one of Alphys' unproven theories and Error intends to keep it that way.

(It would complicate things if Sans were to form a friendship with his alternates.)

(Because, well… Error's goal is to destroy said alternates.)

Lately though, Error had been too busy to check on Sans on a regular basis, but that has changed with the last Full Reset.

It's always the same with Undertale: all the characters' little, prewritten lives get upended the moment Frisk falls underground from the surface. There are generally three ways things can go from there: a pacifist run where Frisk befriends everyone (except Error), a neutral run where Frisk harms some of the monsters, and a genocide run which is self-explanatory. The later is Error's least favorite, because it's the one where Sans will die no matter what. The neutral run has the wildest variations in terms of results, as the end depends on how many monsters the human child has hurt, as well as their identity; the outcome greatly differs depending on whether Frisk has killed a random Froggit or a boss monster like Undyne.

There is no discernable pattern regarding which path Frisk will choose when they first wake up in the ruins. Error believes that they're more often pacifist than not, but he's too lazy to actually keep track.

When Frisk reaches the end of the story, one of two things will happen: either they free Monsterkind and spend the epilogue with them on the surface, or they don't.

After that, it's only a matter of time before the whole story resets to the very beginning, before Frisk even gets underground. None of the characters are aware of this, but being outside of the story's code, Error is allowed to observe. He then can watch as everything plays out again from the very beginning: the creation of the world, the war between Humans and Monsters, Gaster, the Underground and its various areas, the creation of Sans and Papyrus and how they grow up.

Error watched attentively the first few times, but it'd be a lie to say that it doesn't get repetitive after a while. Not boring, just… less exciting. (Except Sans. Sans is always interesting.) Still, Error enjoys watching again around the time right before Frisk arrives. Sans usually is fun to follow at that time, as he goes about his daily life in Snowdin, unaware of the presence of the little human in the ruins. Error will never get tired of the first time Sans and Frisk meet.

Error's current predicament is that there's been a glitch this time when the story loaded. It's not the first time, it's even happened once that there was no war between the Humans and the Monsters, but it always levels out one way or the other. It's also distinctively different from what an alternate universe is, because this is still very much the story of Undertale, just with a glitch in there. It's more of a timeline mistake, really.

And it's exactly what's happening here. Somewhere around the time Papyrus was created in this timeline, some source code glitched and the correct personality file didn't upload properly, resulting in Papyrus… well… being an asshole. A big one even.

He's not worse than some of what Error has seen in alternate universes, but it has still profoundly affected the balance of his relationship with his brother and as a result, Sans and him are far from being close, which is a key component to the original story.

To put it plainly, Papyrus is a bad brother who regularly hurts Sans, both physically and mentally.

It's hard to watch for Error, who is so very attached to Sans, more than Papyrus at least, but he reasons that it's only temporary. Soon Frisk will show up and do the whole befriend or kill everyone thing and then it'll all reset and start again. The glitch should be fixed by then. Hopefully.

But Error can't quite stop himself for checking on Sans more regularly, and what he sees rarely appease him. If Sans had some down moments in previous timelines, it's nothing compared to how depressed he is right now, and Error has to bite his tongue hard to stop himself from barging in when he witnesses from the safety of his void how nasty Papyrus can be in this timeline. He says and does things to his older brother that make Error's marrow boil.

For the most part, Sans accepts the harshness. He doesn't know better, he's grown up with this twisted version of Papyrus and knows nothing of the genuine care he's supposed to feel for the other. It doesn't help Error's feelings settle, because at the end of the day, all he's going to see is Sans hanging his skull low as he discreetly flees into the woods for a silent cry. Error can't do much besides staying there, watching helplessly Sans cry his SOUL out and offering words of hollow comfort that Sans will not hear.

Today is such a day. Sans is cooking in the kitchen, making lunch, before Papyrus shows up and blows up at his brother for no apparent reason. He says awful things and threatens Sans to beat him up, Sans tries to diffuse the situation but it doesn't work, of course, and the two have a big fight that culminates in Papyrus throwing an attack at Sans, who teleports out of the way before he runs out the door.

When he'd usually go into the woods to calm down, this time Sans hurries to the basement, where Gaster's broken universe-hopping machine waits. Error gets scared that Sans might try to fiddle with it and find another universe to run away to, to get as far from Papyrus as possible, and Error can't let that happen. It's not the first time Sans fixes the machine, he usually turns really desperate during neutral runs where his brother doesn't survive and thinks that the device is a time machine that will let him go back before Frisk beheads Papyrus. Error always manages to make it so that Sans doesn't accidentally universe-hops, but with the glitch affecting this timeline, he doesn't know whether his usual methods will work or not.

Sans randomly presses at all the buttons on the keyboard and even though Error knows that won't do shit until the machine itself is fixed, he knows that Sans is one breakdown away from trying that. Error panics and, trying to get closer to see what Sans is doing, he enters the machine. His outsource code messes with the piece of junk, enough that in the blink of a glitch, he finds himself thrown onto the hard cold floor of the basement.

He coughs and shakes his skull as he rubs his arm, looking back at the damn machine. He makes a mental note never to set foot into that thing again. Who knows what kind of consequences such a glitch could have in the future? Error would rather not find out.

He clumsily gets back up and turns around to check on Sans and see how he's doing with the keyboard.

Only to find Sans staring at him, his eyesockets still wet with angry tears and his mouth wide agape.

Error immediately understands the situation and lets out a long, tired sigh.

"fuck."

Sans is momentarily distracted from his pain, which Error is thankful for, and throws a billion questions at him, wondering who he is and where he comes from and why his bones are so dark and if he's related to Sans and why he actually looks like Sans' twin but with black bones and how he got here and so many more that by the time Error gets a word in, it's already night out.

Error explains very roughly who he is, not bothering with the most complicated details. Sans doesn't need to know, it's better if he doesn't actually. Error then very quickly stirs the conversation into comforting words and encouragements, telling Sans that there's something wrong with Papyrus and not with him, and that's why he's lashing out at his big brother so much.

Sans lets out a pitiful and heart breaking chuckle at that.

"yeah well, maybe if i wasn't so damn pathetic he'd be less on my case."

It leaves a bad taste in Error's mouth. Even if he knows that Frisk's Full Reset of the story will fix the glitch, he doesn't like Sans thinking like this, ever.

"no, sans, you don't understand. papyrus is not supposed to be like this. he's a good brother, and you're a good brother too. it's just a glitch," Error tries to explain as best he can. "you two get along really well, you're always spending time together and you never fight, not for real. you tease each other and banter a lot, but it's always in good spirits. i've never seen two monsters get along as well as you and papyrus, i promise."

There's a shift in Sans' eyelights as he listens to Error speak and then he smiles bitterly, his voice sad and broken and wet as he says, "but my papyrus will never be like that, right? because he's just a glitch."

Error realizes how he did the very opposite of comforting Sans as he watches the other crumble into sobs. Sans curls into himself like he's trying to disappear and make the pain go away.

Error is at a loss, he doesn't know what to do. His mind is blank, and so he doesn't think about what he's doing as his arms wrap around Sans' oh so small frame. He pulls Sans into his chest and rocks him as Sans wails into his arms, his hands shakily gripping at the front of Error's jacket.

Error can't do much more than apologize for revealing the hurtful truth to Sans and reassure him as best he can that at least he has Error now to confide in, or vent whenever Papyrus harms him. Error vows that he'll never leave Sans alone and hurt anymore. That's the least he can do. He might not be able to fix the glitch, but he can try to make Sans' current timeline a better experience.

They start to hang out, a lot. If Error avoided making any contact with the characters before, he shrugs that there's no point in hiding his existence now that Sans knows about it. He swears to himself never to intervene in future timelines, but this one is a lost case anyway, and he might as well enjoy Sans' company.

Turns out that Sans is an even more wonderful monster that Error thought, which says a lot, considering how high he already thought of the chubby skeleton. Sans is smart, fun, caring, witty, beautiful and Error is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. He's quick to get out of his depressive funk Error accidentally provoked, and gets livelier and happier each day he spends with Error. They usually just stay in the basement, chatting and playing games, but sometimes Sans brings him to the Snowdin forest, where they build snow sculptures, play between the trees, share secrets under the falling snow and just overall have an amazing time.

The sadness sometimes comes back to Sans' eyelights, but it's quickly replaced by unbridled joy when he spots Error. He knows then that his day is going to be better. With time, he shows less and less bitterness about Papyrus. His brother's nasty words seem to not reach him as deep anymore, and Error is relieved for Sans.

They spend about four months like that, hanging out together everyday, until Error finally announces the news that the little human is on their way. Frisk will arrive in the Underground within a week or two, and if they're in a good mood, Monsterkind might even get freed.

He makes sure not to mention the possibility of a genocide run. Sans doesn't need to hear about it in this timeline. He's suffered enough and ignorance is bliss.

"you'll get to see the surface!" Error beams at his friend. "the sunset, and the stars, and the sky. And real rain and real snow."

"wow… that sounds nice," Sans whispers in awe with a beautiful smile. "i can't wait."

Sans carefully lets his skull drop on Error's shoulder. Error is tempted to wrap a comforting arm around Sans' waist, but he doesn't go further than thinking about it. He splashes his feet into the water of the luminescent stream in front of them instead. Sans is right, Waterfall really is the best place to hang out.

"error, what will happen to you when the human comes?" Sans asks after a while. "you said that i'm supposed to befriend them, but what about you? you're kinda me, right? will you be their friend too?"

Error hums. He does care about Frisk a great deal and would love to hang out with the tiny human, especially if Sans is there as well. He can already picture the three of them playing in the snow by the entrance of the ruins. Maybe Sans and Error could sneak up behind Frisk and surprise them, that could be fun.

He shakes his skull gently.

"i'll fade in the background for a while. it's your story, sans, and i don't want to influence it more than i already have. i've already said more than i was allowed to, to be honest."

Sans pouts. "hmmm. not fun." He then adds in a quieter voice. "what about papyrus? is he going to be the human's friend too? or is he going to…"

Sans doesn't need to finish the thought and Error does wrap that arm around the other, squeezing him reassuringly.

"don't worry about this, sans. it's almost over anyway. when frisk gets here and finishes their run, the world will be reset and papyrus will go back to normal. the risks of the same glitch happening again are very slim, so you'll forget he even treated you that way and you two will be best brothers again. i promise."

Suddenly, Sans sits up, removing his skull from Error's shoulder, making him miss the contact. Error worries he said something wrong again and stares intently at his friend.

"i'll forget about it? about papyrus being mean to me? really?"

"yes, sans. i know it's hard to imagine for you right now, but trust me. you're going to forget this timeline, everything about it, and then you'll be happy again." Error scratches his cheek as he looks to the side and adds, "i'm not saying things will be easy for you, you also struggle in other timelines, but you'll have papyrus to support you. you won't remember how awful he is right now."

This doesn't seem to be the thing to say to cheer Sans up, because it doesn't work and Sans looks almost gloomier with each new word that goes out of Error's mouth, so he shuts up, waiting for Sans to speak his mind.

Error's patience is rewarded a couple minutes later.

"what if i don't want to forget?"

Error blinks.

"what?"

"i think i don't want to forget." This time, Sans looks straight at Error.

"but… why? you'll be happier if you forget all of this ever happened."

"not if i have to forget you."

The words barely register before Error feels Sans' teeth press against his mouth. He instinctively closes his eyesockets and lets Sans kiss him. Sans runs his tongue along Error's teeth, asking for entrance that is easily granted.

Only the echo flowers around them witness their love, and they too will forget all about this soon.

But even if Sans and the echo flowers and the entire world forget about this moment, Error will remember.

Error will never forget.

The ending to "The Gang Goes To Hell", is the peak emotionally to the show for me. Events have culminated in such a way that highlights how everybody's flaws has ruined their own lives and the lives of each other, to the point where this group of "friends" can't stand to exist with each other, just reach other, locked away from the rest of the world. Their neuroses and selfish characteristics have been strengthened over time to the point where they cannot interract with each other without causing each other pain, and the only feelings that you could seem to genuinely recognize between them are hate and codependency. And they're going to die, they have nothing else, they've each verbally disavowed the connections between them, going underwater, but then they're together. It feels like, all of these things, terrible things about them, are things that grow out of the kind of core of their being, that they are still people who want and need *some* kind of connection and belonging, and have found it in each other. The learned behaviors and faults thst have developed over time have disguised thst, and gotten them to the point where they often hurt each other more than help, but in thst moment where they hold hands under water, believing they'll die, it's stripped away, and they're just people who have chosen to be together because the world (sinking ship) is frightening and its better than being alone. It's still true that they're bad people. It's still true thst they're bad friends. But between them, in that moment, and buried beneath all other moments, they have the core of all friendships, the core of all love between them. "Let's go be with the gang".

CW: past abuse, reader is still and always a simp, Mendella is slightly more comfy, some time has passed since the marriage, future smut

Some time passed and Mendella slowly got used to living with (Name). The alpha was by all means not a bad husband, he did make mistakes and fumble around with his words and interactions but Mendella knew that the alpha had no bad intentions and took it upon himself to handle the quite frankly exhausting social situations with nobles and business partners as the omega was much more skilled in the socialite game. (Name) continued working on his businesses and making his famous crystal flowers. When he asked Mendella to come to his lab for the first time the poor omega almost fainted from excitement since he himself was a fan of science, magic and alchemy. Their life together was slow and peacefull, just like they both wanted. Mendellas family didn't bother contacting him and if any letters did come (Name) would take it uppon himself to read them and unfortunately most weren't kind in any way so the alpha would burn the letters and Mendella would never see them. The alpha knew that it wasn't the best course of action but he couldn't let those people hurt his beloved. Mendella hasn't seen (Names) family since the wedding but from their limited interractions he could gather that they were good people who loved their brother dearly. Despite knowing it was wrong Mendella couldn't help but be a little bitter about not having that kind of family. He didn't get to wallow on that thought for long as (Name) excitedly pulled him to the garden to show him the new finished "hang out" area he's been weirdly focussed on constructing....

The little building was nice, constructed like a mini home with three wooden walls and one glass one through which one could see the views outside. the floor was soft and littered with bag like cusshions stuffed with feathers which (Name) had called a "bean bag". There were also pillows and blankets scattered about. A shelf with books stood against a wall and in the opposite corner stood a small fireplace, seemingly heated by a magical flame. In the corner by the glass wall stood a small table which had snacks and drinks on it and in the other corber by that same wall stood a small shelf and table filled with art supplies, no doubt (Names) since the alpha had the uncommon hobby of drawing.... uncommon for an alpha but Mendella digressed. To the omega this place seemed like the perfect place for a nest. The thought invoked a warm feeling in the omegas chest but he quickly shook it away. 'Yeah right as if i will get anything but our wedding bed and a rough fucking when heat hits' Mendella thought bitterly even as a small part of him dared to hope that his husband was kind enough to at least be gentle. He didn't have much time to think as (Name) gently herded him to sit between the cushions and purred up a storm when the omega seemed to settle down. (Name) curled himself around Mendella and intertwined their tails together. The blonde couldn't help but let out a purr of his own.....

It was quiet for a while until name said those few words that sent Mendellas heartrate up.... "My family is coming to visit"....

"Oh gods"...

miw/neo/shin for the ship ask ?

Well obviously you can guess that I love them, I haven't been subtle about it (also thank you for diving in the tag and providing me with good gifsets u.u) I love them individually - though Miw's the best and the guys are both sometimes irritating in their own way, you can't change my mind - and I love them as a trio, but I also love how they (still as a trio) interract with other characters in universe and narratively, and I love every single side of their triangle, though again : Miw & Shin have such a fun and surprisingly meaty dynamic, it's definitely my favourite out of the three.

On that subject, it is really nice to see a polyamorous triad that isn't a perfect triangle but where the non-romantic side is given (roughly) as much weight as the romantic ones. Neo isn't here when Miw and Shin meet, and something sparks without him. There's this shift, in their first bedroom scene, where Miw is bringing forth this cute and nice persona but respond to Shin's attempt at sincerity by deciding that putting her more abrasive self forward is a risk worth taking, and it's pretty pivotal ? After that Shin trusts her even when it's... pretty obvious she's lying, and she reciprocate by simply wanting to spend time with him without expecting anything from him. Like, their friendship started before The Clusterfuck, it could have blossomed on it's own, and it is important from that point on (Shin #1 Miw defender).

That being said, I also enjoy having a f/m/m polycule where the woman isn't the arrow's head. I feel like the very few stories who depict this kind of situations tend to rely on the men being bro but desiring the same woman in a weird attempt to, idk, retain some heterosexuality ? Not that it works. But here it feels like they went out of their way to avoid that, and I am here for it. Everyone gets their turn in the middle, but Neo is the clear linchpin of the throuple. Remove him and they fall appart, because of their respective insecurities. "It's time for this movie to end", say Miw, because why would she saddle the rich boy with her trashy mess ? and Shin doesn't object because why would he bother this cool girl that his crush loves more than him ? The three of them are stupidly self-sacrificial in different ways. But yeah, it's Neo's belief that when it comes to love they are allowed to have it all that keeps them together and it's just sweet.

Speaking of insecurities, I appreciate that it does actually take more than them fucking once for their relationship to be all smooth sailing, and that most of their hangs-up are pretty realistic results of, uh, living in our world. Like, Miw & Neo's poverty and their complicated relationship re: sex-work that they keep throwing in each other's face (Neo straight up calling Miw a whore, Miw arguing that Neo's a bad romantic prospect because he's poor and vulgar and uneducated) ? And you cannot convince me that Shin's conviction that he's just not as important to them as they are to him is partly from experiencing homophobia and seeing himself as the gay option vs Miw/Neo as the normal path anyone would want to take. I mean obviously gangster dad is the biggest obstacle in their path but I like that they also face internal ones. I'm often frustrated by the way polyamory is sometimes presented as the solution to love triangles (especially in fandom spaces) because imo, the neat narrative thing an OT3 does isn't that it solves the problem, but that it creates different ones. The show does it beautifully.

On a more, idk, bird-eyed view perspective ? I greatly enjoy just watching them blaze accross Thailand ruining lives without meaning to. The Mae/Phon/Ter mirrorverse doomed trio, Neo's boss, that guy Oat, the hotel manager and her family, Neo's brother, Luang I guess, even arguably Vanika... never has a polycule been such an ill-omen. Incredible Natural Disaster Energy. Three will be free and yes that is a threat.

UGH there was something else I wanted to talk about but I forgot what it was, I didn't expect this to get this long and also I'm sick and my brain isn't working super well right now. Anyway : never forget Neo fucked the step-son right after the step-mom. Or that time when Miw flirted with Neo's brother, while Neo watched them with jealousy, while Shin watched HIM with jealousy. Terrible work, team, eat some pot-brownies and then hit the showers.

a random bout of curiosity. do you have any hcs/thoughts on like, random HS/hiveS character mashups? like funny interractions or crack shipping or who'd get along with who? idk just in a random crossover mood ig, love hearing others ideas on the two series' clashing in some way

Ya know? I haven't really put much thought into it myself. I have it engrained in my mind where Hiveswap is before, and Homestuck takes place after, so I don't think about the trolls from either one interacting very much. I'll try my best for you tho!

One thing that my mind jumped to was Equius and Nihkee. Idk, she wrestles and fights, and Equius does the same but with robots. I mention Equius and Nihkee specifically because! Equius is said to have a mutation of some sort or?? Is just abnormally strong, even for an indigoblood, ones that appear through Hiveswap to be a blood caste full of strength and creativity. Equius fucking bruises people from giving them a pat on the head. I just think their fight could be legendary.

Also, not to mention the fact of the other indigos like Galekh or Amisia thinking the robot building aspect to him would be interesting.

I imagine Zebruh wouldn't be fond of him at all, and the same could be said for Equius. As much as I live Equius and he's my favorite troll, he had that whole thing to him where he very much believes in upholding the hemospectrum and believes others should do so as well, even putting himself down when talking to Gamzee etc etc. I think if they were to ever argue about it, my brain would be fried. Cause while what Zebruh spouts aren't necessarily bad on paper, ya know, wanting lowbloods to have better rights and stuff, but we know he doesn't say those things for good reasons exactly. Idk! I just think them fighting about it would be awful and interesting to watch go down.

Did I only want to talk about Equius cause he's my ultimate fav from Homestuck, and I totally took this and ran with it? Yes.

This episode made me love Sophie Pulone even more

Back in season 1 it really felt like Sophie’s relationship to Suletta was going to be a bog standard Worthy Opponent You’re The Only One Who Can Challenge Me sorta deal. And that trope’s not bad, but I really loved the way they went with it instead.

Because Sophie genuinely thinks Suletta is the coolest thing since sliced bread

That is such a refreshing and fun dynamic, a villain who genuinely likes the hero and wants to hang out with them, and seeing the two of them interract throughout the episode is a delight. In the montage of Suletta showing Sophie around Asticassia, I get the impression that Sophie is having the time of her life, less like a terrorist infiltrating an organization she’s planning on bringing down and more as a girl who’s hanging out with her idol and has never been happier. She’s a bit unruly for Suletta, but she’s clearly having fun

Which also leads me into another thing, which is that the episode showed a surprising amount of vulnerability to Sophie. As far as I know, we don’t know her age, but going by character design, she seems to be around Suletta’s age or younger. She’s also an orphan who’s been part of a terrorist organization for at least long enough to become a skilled Gundam pilot, which makes this scene very telling.

Sophie has a bunch of very old, possibly homemade, stuffed toys that she refers to as her family, specifically pointing out the ones filling the role of her parents and sisters. With what little we know about her, it seems like Sophie treating these stuffed animals as her family is a coping mechanism for the trauma from her upbringing. And that completely reframed how I saw her.

At the end of the first cour, Sophie came across as a bit of a yandere type with an obsession with Suletta’s skill as a gundam pilot, someone who would be wholly antagonistic and who’s interest in Suletta would be played as creepy.

but after seeing this? Sophie isn’t a yandere, she’s a kid. The Dawn of Fold treat her as an adult, but she clearly isn’t. She latches onto Suletta because Suletta is someone like her, someone she relates to as a witch, and someone who can fill the role of big sister in her life. Getting to spend time with an older sister figure at a festival is the kind of experience that she should have had and probably wants, but never could because she lost her parents, but now she’s getting that chance, even if it’s on false premises.

And as for this scene?

Well, Suletta has made it clear that she doesn’t share Sophie and Norea’s worldview, but Sophie still wants her big sister in her life. Accepting the duel is both her way of trying to get Suletta to accept her view on things, and her following through on asking Suletta to teach her earlier. After all, Suletta is showing them how things work around Asticassia, and Sophie follows her like a lost duckling.

This girl may not act like it, but she’s a bundle of trauma and poor coping mechanisms, and I love her so much for it.

The tragedy of Jake/Cassie cannot be beat. The unbearable first-crush secondhand mortification of their early days. The twists and trials they go to until they are standing on opposite sides of the canyon that once was the life they could have had.

I also love Cassie/Rachel with all my heart. I wish they'd had longer :(

Also ngl I do always love the idea of Cassie and Marco having a fling post-war. This isn't exactly an otp but the idea of them becoming best friends that only ever get like a few minutes alone together every few months for a few years, and yet they get each other. It's just. It's very good.

Cassie and Aftran should have been girlfriends for a while. One is a whale, the other can be a whale for 2 hours. It's perfect.

Rachel and Cassie no ifs ands or butts. I do like Cassie and Aldrea together as a force.

7. One way in which I relate to this character

How she clung tooth and fucking nail to her morals. How she saw the easy ways out "they're bad so we are justified in anything we do to them" and continued to hold the line to what she would allow, no matter how much opposition was thrown her way.

8. Thing that gives me second hand embarrassment for this character

NICE IS NEAT. Also every goddamn interraction between her and Jake in the early books. They sat beside each other on the bus and didn't say a SINGLE word and they're both buzzing about the "close contact". Oh my god. So embarrassing.

Also she wears poopy boots to school. Cassie.... babygirl.... you can have nice shoes to wear to school, and your work boots for home.

9. Cinnamon roll or problematic fav?

All the Animorphs kids are my cinnamon rolls, obvi. I should also add that when these books were originally coming out I wanted to be Cassie so badly it hurt. I adore her. She's everything.

So I think I'd call Cassie a problematic fav primarily bc she single-handedly made the gamble that could have lost the war based on her personal morals (not letting Jake murder his brother). And while I respect the hell out of her for it, and things technically worked out in the end, it could have been the moment they lost everything.

for WW a couple weeks ago somebody asked me if i thought deanna would have any kinks that dean wouldn't, and here's a pull from my answer:

I think I mostly view Dean/na having the same kinks no matter the gender, but it’s more of a case of whether or not there’s shame involved. Whereas I think Dean might feel ashamed about his panty kink, especially since he tries so hard to adhere to those masculine gender roles, there is nothing holding Deanna back from outwardly sharing her lingerie kink with Sam. Who would extremely be down to indulge her. I think Sam would find his sister just as hot in like, a sports bra and old cotton bikini-style undies as he would in some (stolen) Victoria’s Secret or something (can’t see either of them considering stealing something designer, but Deanna’s tiddies in one of them VS bombshell bras? Ok Sam is a red-blooded bisexual male and he’s WEAK!) 👌🏼👌🏼 Same goes for breeding kink. Cis or trans man Dean? You’re only gonna get “knock me up” out of his mouth if he’s really undone. But Deanna is like hell yea Sam put a fuckin’ baby in me!

like okay, i'm ME, so i'm ALWAYS viewing dean as wanting to get knocked up and being hype about it lol, but if i'm taking canon as canon is presented (i.e., as far as we know dean is a cis man of questionable heterosexuality who is always trying very hard to adhere to a certain kind of masculinity), i do think he would find this facet of himself emasculating and shameful. a panty kink is one thing, but to admit to himself that he not only wants kids but he wants to be the one to birth them is........a lot for him to handle, i think. dean is really gentle and good with kids in canon. and he more or less raised sam. he knows he likes doing that, he's good at it, but i also think he's so tied to this idea of being a hunter that he just...would never let himself have that. he wants that apple pie life so bad; it's why he always rags on sam about it (sam – who stopped having that dream years ago!), but he's so clearly insecure about it. and sure, it's fine to be that typically masculine guy who wants to knock somebody up, but turning that on its head? yeah, as i said above, you're only getting that out of him if he's really undone. or you're sam.

as for TRANS dean, which is generally how i tend to read him, i still think it would be a bit of a taboo thing for him to admit out loud and to himself. like, sorry for tmi but as a transmasc who wants to get pregnant it can feel incredibly isolating. sure there are others out there but by and large it makes a lot of transmascs dysphoric! and i get that! and somebody like dean, who has uhhh let's say a toxic relationship with himself (read: he hates himself), i think as a trans guy, who is maybe already feeling lonely in this way, anything that would make people suspect he's trans is gonna be deeply shameful for him. his thought process would be like: he's a guy, he's not supposed to want to be pregnant. and i think that would hurt. i think he wants a family, kids, and denying himself that would hurt him for a long time.

okay SO, now we've circled back around to deanna. whether she's cis or trans, i think she'd be a lot more okay with this. canon dean is a man who is constantly trying to adhere to these standards of masculinity he's set for himself; ergo, deanna the woman likely be the same with femininity. paired with all of the parentification (and wifeification) or her time with john, i think she's very comfortable with wanting to be pregnant. and as a trans woman, i think she'd find her wanting for motherhood to be validating. however she'd obviously be dealing with the pain of not being able to carry a child, so whether or not she'd be comfortable talking about wanting to be pregnant in general is...less likely than cis deanna.

NOW LET'S BRING IT HOME to omegaverse. similarly to cis deanna – i think omega dean would feel secure in his thing for pregnancy. it's what his gender is supposed to do, right; they're meant to breed and it's something he can do and be good at. and if there's one thing about dean, oh, he wants to be told he's been a good boy. omegaverse – a world in which gender roles are strict and fetishized – is the one scenario where i can actually see him keeping a baby, even as a hunter. this is what he's supposed to do, after all.
