Language breaks barriers, we all know that, but some people refuse to learn a language because they don’t want to spend time on it. ⭐︎ I grew up speaking Spanish and later learned to speak English when I started attending school. I still speak my mother tongue, and it helped a lot that I used to visit Mexico every December to visit family. My parents used to laugh at me because I had the ‘ranchero’ accent. ⭐︎ Currently, I am learning how to speak Italian because it’s a language that I’ve always found beautiful, and it’s so similar to Spanish because Italian and Spanish are rooted in Latin, the language of the Roman Empire. Jewel, cargaba con un hatillo de leña sospechosamente bien hecho. La niña me miró. Maldita sea, ya era capaz de entenderme sin esfuerzo ninguno. Tendría que ocultar mis pensamientos tanto del dragón como a ella. Ya no me quedaban fuerzas para eso, necesitaba descansar. -Preparemos un fuego y comamos. Luego será mejor que preparemos las provisiones.- Susurré sentándome en el suelo. -Yo se encender el fuego.- me aseguró Jewel. -Me ocuparé de la carne. Mamá me enseñó a despellejar. -Tía, Tía…- Gritó Mathew.- He encontrado una vasija y la hemos llenado de agua. Los dos hermanos acarreaban con esfuerzo una vieja reliquia. Inspiré. -Ya, claro.- Escuché refunfuñar a Jewel.- Lagartija entrometida. Sonreí. Desplegué mis sentidos sin abrir los ojos, observando mi alrededor. Aria se ocupaba de salar grandes trozos de carne con la sal que habíamos robado, hacía un buen trabajo. Jewel, introducía los frutos que encontraba en una bolsa que luego introducía dentro de un ajado cesto. Los niños, estaban muy ocupados en crear nuestra nueva vajilla con el barro que Jewel les había traído del rio. Me emocioné por su competencia, por su falta de miedo. Me aterró su confianza en mí. -Eso huele que alimenta.- Dije. -Verás que sabe mejor.- Canturreó Aria.- He encontrado varias plantas aromáticas.
