And the Chinese year of the Water Rabbit promises to bring just that - luck. It promises a year of positive changes and artistic endeavors. As it’s the Chinese year of the Water Rabbit, here’s a bit of lore. Whereas many in the west see the man in the moon, other cultures see a Rabbit. The Moon rabbit or Moon hare is a mythical figure in East Asian and indigenous American folklore, based on pareidolic interpretations that identify the dark markings on the near side of the Moon as a rabbit or hare. #perlesjournal I was out of coffee. I’m never out of coffee. Where is my mind these days? Publix doesn’t open til 7, and as I’m up at 5, I cleaned out the fridge. Took trash out to curb. And. Headed out at 6:45 for Greensprings and McD’s for a senior coffee. In the way back stopped in to @publix to stock up on their house Espresso grind coffee. And of course had to check the sales. Philly cream cheese hasn’t been $2.50 in longer than I can remember. If it ‘of been a snake it ‘of bit me. Focused in on its usual home on the 3rd shelf, all I saw was the 1/3 fat crap. So I went to complain and the sweet young man lead me back and pointed out the fully loaded bottom shelf. Tunnel vision - what can I say. And then there was LaCroix at BOGO- it is always buy 2 get one free. Also one of my favorite sweet treats, Ferraro Rocher BOGO. Who could resist? Also. Picked up a sandwich and a few other things for later, so I don’t have to mess up my now clean kitchen. #perlesaerie The birds are in full song this Sunday morning. I’m just home from #perleswalkabout at 6:30am, and it’s still dark out. Although I love this cooler weather, I hate the shortening days. I’ve put the coffee on to brew and now out on the balcony listening to the birds who call my front yard trees home. Love being able to leave windows and doors open day and night. And like that I can see into my studio/office window from here. Even inside now, I can hear it all from my living room couch with the balcony door and window open behind me. Time now to curl up with a fur throw, hug a mug of coffee, and watch Willie Geist in Today followed by Jane Pauley on CBS Sunday Morning. Then, I don’t know.
