It’s been months. Months since you finally confessed your feelings to none other than Yuji Itadori in pouring rain, months since finally having the relationship you always dreamed of, months in which everything went just right.

Yes, ups and downs were and will always be part of the job, but you stood on each other’s side till the very end.

“Hey, are you alright?”

Your fingers gently caressed his back, other hand combing through his pink hair.

“Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine. After all you’re by my side, right?”

Your heart melted like chocolate in the sun, arms embracing him tightly before you could help yourself. Oh that boy. That beautiful boy who swept you off your feet, the boy you’ve been in love with since stepping a foot into Jujutsu High. In that moment you laid beside him, eyes staring at the ceiling while holding his hand and breathing against his chest.

“I’ll always be by your side, Yuji.”

 Yes, everything went just fine. But at Shibuya, everything changed.

“Where’s Yuji?” you huff into your big brothers face, completely out of breath.

“And what happened to Ino?”

“(y/n), what happened to your face?”

You can’t explain right now. In fact, all that’s on your mind is Yuji after fighting your way through the whole city.

“We’ll meet again as soon as possible, okay?”

Why? Why were you assigned to follow Nanami and that old fart instead of Mei and Yuji? Why weren’t you able to support your brother and your boyfriend? You had a bad feeling in your guts right from the start, but when seeing Ino’s unconscious figure you suspect nothing but the worst.

“Where’s Yuji?”

The evasive look in Megumi’s tells you everything before he even opens his mouth.

“He went into the train station in order to find Gojo-sensei…”

Your world stops, head spinning in thick fear. He went into the train station.

All alone.

“Why would you let him go there alone?”

Roughly, you grab your big brother’s collar, fisting the fabric so tightly that it gets hard for Megumi to breathe.

“Why would you let him leave when even Gojo got sealed? Why did you let him go?”, you hiss through gritted teeth, tears veiling your sight.

This is bad. Very very bad. He wasn’t replying to any of your messages for over an hour now. An hour in which he could have get killed already.

Or even worse.

The thought of Sukuna inside him taking over runs shivers down your spine. After that fateful day when you thought you lost the love of your life forever, you encountered him last. The cruelest of the cruel, the king of curses.

You feel like throwing up. No, you need to focus. Right now, there’s only one thing you can do.

“Where do you thing you’re going, (y/n)?”, Megumi barks at you while grabbing your hand and yanking you over.

“What do you think? I’m looking after Yuji!”

“There’s nothing you can do-“

“What do you know about it?”, you interrupt him immediately.

“I love him, Megumi. And I won’t let him die at Shibuya alone or even worse, let Sukuna take over his body. I’ll keep you updated.”

And with that, you turn on your heels and run as fast as your feet carry towards the center of Shibuya. Please. Please let everything be alright. Your heart almost hammers out of your chest, vision foggy with thick fear.

Please hold on, Yuji.

“How could you lose against such a weakling?”

He smiles to himself, sunning in the scorching pain that echoes through his vessel’s body.

Until you appear on his mind again.

Oh god, you. The girl that brat fell head over heels for, the girl that confessed to him in pouring rain after encountering himself. You have some nerves, laying inside of this loser’s arms each and every night while Sukuna himself can’t help but wonder what your body feels like, sensing how he kisses your lips while Sukuna desires a taste of his own. No, Sukuna was never jealous about anything that brat has.

But you.

He leans forward, a wave of Yuji’s memories washing over him. Your soft hair and glistening eyes, your oh so kind smile, the way you lay against his chest.

“Why this loser?” he mumbles to himself.

“Why are you even attracted to a brat like him when you can do so much better?”

With him, maybe. Sukuna was never a man of feelings, after all he is the king of curses, the cruelest creature walking on this earth. But there’s just something about you that keeps him entertained, something that begs him to have a taste.

Maybe today, here at Shibuya, his time has come.

It’s like living in a nightmare you can’t wake up to, seeing two girls bending over the lifeless body of your boyfriend.

“What did you do to him?”, you scream out.

Until you gaze at the finger in their hands.

Until your mind begins to realize what is going on here.

“How many fingers did you feed him already?”

You feel like a ghost in a shell, as if all of this is only a dream. This isn’t Yuji Itadori laying right in front of you, right? These aren’t Sukuna’s fingers, correct?

“How many fingers!?”, you scream on top of your lungs.

You hinge forwards, ready to rip their hands off when suddenly, a sheer force stops you in your tracks and slams your body against a nearby wall. You feel like dying, organs pressed so harshly against the hard concrete that you can swear you were able to feel every single one burst. All you are capable to do is stare at the volcano in front of you setting the two girl in flames and casually pulling out more of these cursed fingers, more of his fingers.

“N-no”, you croak out.

No, you need to do something, you need to get out of this wall, you need to stop him from feeding all of Sukuna’s fingers to Yuji.

With a violent scream you break away, landing knees first on the cold floor. Damn, you feel like bleeding out, whole vision going black just by the thought of standing up. But you have to do this, one step at a time.

For him, for Yuji.

“Get. Your. Dirty. Hands. Off. Him.”, you hiss through gritted teeth, snapping the volcano head’s hand away just in time before he is able to force the last finger down Yuji’s throat.

“I thought you are dead already. Leave me alone, stupid girl.”

It happens so fast that you aren’t even able to comprehend what is going on. In the split of a second his hand darts towards you, fire bursting out of his palms. But it doesn’t reach you. No, instead both of his arms get cut off, coloring everything around you in deep purple.

“You have some nerves, trying to touch her so casually. Who do you think you are, you worm?”

That voice, that presence. Your whole body shivers in nothing but thick fear, head slowly turning around. Please let it be a nightmare, a misunderstanding. This can’t be reality.

“Hello sweetheart, did you miss me?”

“Sukuna…”, you breathe out.

You stare right into his red eyes, tattoos all over his face revealing his true identity without any doubt. The man sitting next to you isn’t Yuji Itadori anymore. No, this is the king of curses himself, none other than Sukuna.

“Long time no see. I’ve been waiting for this moment long enough”, he purrs, a cheeky grin plastered on his face while he brushes through Yuji’s hair.

“Where’s Yuji?”

Your voice isn’t more than a fade whisper in the darkness, his sheer presence clouded by so much power and strength that you feel like fainting. Yes, the man in front of you could kill you without even twitching.

“Why is everything about this brat? He’s in the background where he belongs. Oh, not so fast.”

Just when the volcano man next to you is about to stand up, Sukuna cuts off his feet without ease. You stare at him through glossy eyes, the flawless appearance of your boyfriend looking so distressed by his occurrence. A quiet laughter escapes his lips and sends another wave of shivers down your spine. How can a creature walking on this earth be so evil?

“Now kneel.”

He stands in front of you staring down at you with amusement sparkling in his eyes. He’s talking to you, there’s no doubt. Your limbs feel like burning alive, whole body exhausted by all the fights and tactical thinking. You would love to kneel on the floor at least for a while, finally some rest.

But instead, you lift your trembling figure off the floor, straightening your shoulders with your head up.

“I would rather die than kneeling in front of someone as disgusting as you”, you reply with firm voice.

Is this how you’ll die? Through the deformed hands of your very own boyfriend, through the king of curses himself?

Suddenly he bursts out laughing, grabbing your chin roughly.

“It would have truly disappointed me if you lost your spark. But for your braveness, everyone at Shibuya will lose their lives this night”, he hisses into your ear, yanking your head to the side so violently that it feels like he’s breaking your neck.

“Please don’t.”

You force yourself to look into the black hole of his eyes, to resist the fear he tries to cause in your heart.

“These people are innocent. They don’t deserve to die. But you do.”

He tilts his head to the side, grinning down at you with so much cruelness glistening in his red orbs that it simply takes your breath away. How many fingers did they feed him when you weren’t here? Way too many. After all, Yuji was always able to overpower him, to take control over his own body. But not now.

With the snip of his finger, both girls get sliced into a thousand tiny pieces, their blood and intensities discoloring everything around you crimson.

Red.

Everything red.

He ended their lives without thinking twice.

“Why the hell did you do that?” you spit into his face.

Out of instinct, your flat palm rushes towards his face, just inches away from hitting him when he catches your hand mid-air.

“Because I can. Obey me or I’ll kill every human being at Shibuya. Especially your brother.”

Your eyes widen in horror, pictures of Megumi flooding your mind. Despite you seem to be two different people with nothing in common, you love your brother dearly. If something happens to him because of you, if Sukuna hurts a single hair on his body…

“Don’t you dare to touch him or I’ll kill myself.”

His red orbs widen in surprise. Oh, that’s new. The look in your eyes tells him that you’re serious about your words.

“What makes you believe I’d care about that?”

He would never admit it out loud, but the thought of your precious life ending distresses him. No, not until he is finished with you, not until he got a taste of what belongs to Yuji Itadori.

“Because I know you care about me”, you reply confidently.

You know it’s dumb, that you might die right here on the spot through your own hands. But you can’t help it. Your own life is your only leverage against Sukuna. Without hesitation you press your own knife against your throat until blood spills. Maybe this will show you what Sukuna’s real intentions are. Or even better, you’ll be able to set Yuji free again.

“Go on, I couldn’t care less.”

Why does your hand fight so desperately against your mind, refusing to cut your own flesh open? Ice cold sweat runs down your forehead, fingertips trembling underneath the force of the blade in your own hand. You just have to press harder, slicing open your throat…

It shouldn’t be hard for him to watch you fighting against your own will. But oh how much Sukuna despises the way you press that knife against your throat, a little trail of blood spilling. What are you trying to achieve?

“Are you out of your goddamn mind?”

“I want to make a contract with you”, you press out.

“I’m not dealing with a stupid human.”

You dig the blade into your screaming flesh deeper, a warm trail of blood soaking your uniform.

“Promise me you’ll leave my friends alone. Promise me you’ll set Yuji free.”

“And why would I do that?”, he remarks dryly.

“I will allow you to do everything you want with me during that time.”

Sukuna pricks up his ears, absolutely mesmerized by the way you fight against your own will to survive and stare at him so boldly.

“Give me an answer”, you demand.

The pain seems to become unbearable, knife cutting through your tender flesh so deep that your whole upper body is now discolored in crimson. One more brush. One more brush of the blade will be enough to cut your own throat. You close your tearing eyes.

Oh Yuji, how much you wish he’d be here right now. You weren’t even able to say goodbye to him, to talk everything through. It should have never come this far, they shouldn’t be able to have the upper hand. Hopefully he doesn’t see any of this, the way you take your own life.

A rough hand snatches the knife out of your grasp before pressing against your open wound.

“Everything I want, huh? Selling yourself for your friends and that brat, how pathetic”, he hisses against your outer ear.

You gasp for air like a fish on land, the pain radiating from your whole body almost swallowing you whole.

“What happened to that little ray of sunshine of yours, the smile you always wear?”

“I would kill myself if it means that the others are safe”, you reply.

He stares into your eyes, the orbs that captivating him since first catching a glimpse of them. Now it makes sense to him what that brat sees in you, why he tried so desperately to keep you out of his grip.

“Precious little thing, I know exactly what I’ll do to you.”

on sakura in reborn au

i was considering team 7 dynamics and going into it, minato & kakashi both assume the issues will be a sasuke-naruto thing. they annoy each other, and naruto considers sasuke a romantic rival and will actively pick fights with him, and sasuke is ready and willing to escalate those fights. minato & kakashi knows naruto likes sakura and sakura likes sasuke (because naruto won't shut up about it), but i don't think they've considered sakura's role in the dynamic beyond "idk, maybe she'll act weird around him"

i think a lot of sakura's canon annoyances with naruto were organic (as in, she just found him annoying, regardless of any social cues about how he was Bad News she was additionally picking up). aside from that one awful comment she made to sasuke, the only times we see sakura being "mean" to naruto are after he's been obnoxious to/around her. she tells him off for trying to prank kakashi because she's a teacher's pet, but she ALSO privately thinks this is funny. we also see multiple instances in part 1 of her actively trying to protect him. in the manga, she tackles naruto out of the way to save him from zabuza. she is ready and willing to tank her own promotion to chunin and sasuke's in order to protect naruto's dream of being hokage (she's told they can't retake the chunin exams if they fail the written test, but they CAN retake if they drop out, and even though she's confident she will pass, she starts to raise her hand to drop out so NARUTO will get a second shot). she gets beat up in the forest of death trying to protect naruto (and sasuke) and then afterwards attempts to protect naruto emotionally by telling him she cut her hair because she "felt like a change" and not explaining what happened (i don't think not telling him is a good call, but i do think she did it because she wanted to protect him). i think her awful comment about naruto not having parents was maybe something she felt was socially normal/acceptable to say because everyone did hate naruto, which was why she thoughtlessly blabbed it to sasuke. she'd maybe even heard other people saying similar things and thought this was just how she's supposed to think about him. but i don't think she ever truly hated him; she just found him kind of annoying

the point of all this is that i don't think sakura dislikes naruto the way some people write her to. but she doesn't like him hitting on her, and she doesn't like when he does crude stuff around her.

so, given that, now imagine a situation where there's not random society-wide shunning of naruto. he's still loud and obnoxious, so i think sakura would find him grating even if she secretly thinks some of his pranks are funny. she doesn't even consider returning his crush. that is not on the table for her. she still likes sasuke. she still breaks up with ino because i maintain that that was an act of sakura trying to make herself an independent agent from ino and not ino's sidekick. but. but. she has fewer overall problems with naruto. naruto is the class clown but he's not a pariah; he's the hokage's kid and he has social clout

so maybe. consider this. sakura does not return naruto's crush, but his attention is now sort of fun and exciting. she's twelve, after all-- this is new to her, and she's feeling out what she likes and she's not necessarily mature or emotionally aware enough to not be a huge brat. it's fun when naruto brings her flowers and she gets to turn him down in front of other people. it's fun that everyone knows the hokage's son is in love with her, and that she doesn't have to love him back to keep this attention on her.

it is extremely fun when naruto sees her sighing over sasuke and then goes to fight him and then sasuke escalates.

kakashi gets his team and is told there might be some typical twelve year old crush drama, but sakura's personality is predicted to balance out naruto and sasuke's tendency towards fist fights.

and then kakashi watches her intentionally goad them into a fight and then fucking preen and he's like. oh. oh no.

#sakura genuinely likes sasuke because she DOES think he's cute and cool #however what she likes even MORE is that she can make googly eyes at him and both naruto AND ino will lose their minds #if she can get sasuke's attention? that's just her winning on all fronts #reborn au

Summary: Sakura, Kakashi, and Genma are pulled into Lord Ko’s idiotic scheme to get back at his ex, but they all get a little more than they bargained for. Not that anyone’s mad. Except maybe Genma.

“Tsunade-sama,” Sakura groaned, rubbing her temple. “You cannot be serious.”

“Sorry Sakura,” Tsunade replied, not seeming sorry at all. “Lord Ko asked specifically for a pretty kunoichi who could pretend to be his new girlfriend to make his ex jealous,” she responded brightly. “Wouldn’t you be offended if I had asked anyone else?”

“Ino. Hinata. Tenten.” Sakura listed, deadpan.

“Clan head, clean head, on a mission.” Tsunade responded.

Behind Sakura, two ANBU stood silently, watching the exchange between teacher and student with well concealed mirth.

“ Shishou,” Sakura whined, “don’t I have a reputation to uphold?”

“Ko is paying stupid amounts of money for this idiotic jealousy scheme. It's ridiculous. And he’s paying top dollar for the best escorts too, just to show his ex how important and powerful he is.” Tsunade smiled devilishly.

Sakura groaned and slumped in the chair in front of Tsunade’s desk. 

“C’mon kid, think of it as a vacation. You get to sit pretty in some palace for a few days. Think of the food!” Tsunade exclaimed. Looking back at the two shinobi, still standing at attention, she said, “It’s a vacation for you guys too—easy peasy. Not that Sakura would need protecting anyways.”

Scowling, Sakura huffed, “How is parading around at a ball while I’m thrown around like an object, just so some idiot man can get back with his ex a vacation for me? ” Sakura said indignantly. “What if the crazy bitch decides to retaliate or something?” 

Snorting, Genma broke his silence. “I’m pretty sure you could handle a civilian who’s never held a kunai.”

“Genma and Kakashi aren’t even the best,” Sakura complained, earning an indignant choke from Genma and a sniff from Kakashi. “Shouldn’t Shisui or Itachi be here?” Sakura leaned back in her chair, slowly accepting her fate.

“Wow,” Kakashi drawled, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Is that anyway to talk to your old teacher?” 

Sakura snorted, “You barely taught and that was well over a decade ago.”

“Pft,” Tsunade shrugged. “This mission is something genin could honestly do. You and Hatake are there for the reputation. Doctor Haruno Sakura, Godaime’s apprentice, best med-nin across the Five Elemental Nations, co-director of the Konoha hospital, strongest shinobi on this planet—beautiful and intelligent,” she puffed her chest with each title. “And, uh, the Copy Nin,” she threw in, “are more than enough.” 

“Hey!” Genma interjected, “What about me?” 

“We just needed another ANBU guard.” Tsunade responded at the same time Kakashi said, “You’re just a pretty face.” 

Folding his arms across his chest Genma pouted. “You can’t even see my face.”

Sighing once again, Sakura braced her elbows on the Hokage’s desk and cradled her forehead with her hands. “When do we leave?”

Tsunade handed Sakura a scroll. “Today.” 

Slowly easing herself from the chair and throwing another exasperated glance at her mentor she wearily bowed.

“Sakura,” Tsunade started softly. Sakura peered up at her mentor through a curtain of pink hair. “Don’t forget to cover your Byakugo seal, ha!” Tsunade said, full of mirth.

Heaving out a breath and tiredly running a hand over her face, Sakura mock saluted her teacher and caught the scroll tossed her way.

“These have all the outfits, accessories, and makeup needed for the mission. Don’t ruin or lose anything—it was expensive as shit,” Tsunade warned.

“I didn’t realize the village had gowns in the vault for loan,” Sakura said wryly. 

“I had them custom made for you,” Tsunade responded with a glint in her eye.

Opening her mouth in surprise Sakura squeaked, “What if I had rejected the mission?” her voice rising in consternation.

“Like you’d defy me, brat,” Tsunade with an eye roll. 

Looking wearily over at Kakashi and Genma, Sakura said, “Meet me at the North gate at noon.”

Under the shadow of the North gate, Sakura hummed to herself as she double checked the contents of her pack and storage scrolls. She was looking forward to the mission. Despite her irritation in Hokage Tower, Sakura couldn’t remember the last time she was assigned to a mission that didn’t require her to be elbows deep in entrails or trekking through swamplands. 

Plus, the company could be worse. 

Light steps approached her. Two lithe forms in uniform, masks hanging at their hips, Sakura tried to fix her eyes on their faces. 

“We’ll likely get to the palace around dinner time if we don’t rush. The ball is in three days and we can figure out security details when we meet with Ko,” Sakura said, securing her heaving pack on her back.

Kakashi and Genma exchanged nods and the trio started walking past the faded red of the village gate. Shoulder to shoulder, the spring breeze rustling through the Hashirama trees, the three of them could almost forget they were officially on a mission.

“For background,” Genma said, “I was on the security detail for Lord Ko a while back and he’s kind of a creep and kind of a loser.”

Kakashi chuckled behind his book and Sakura rolled her eyes. 

“I figured if he had to pay women to be his date despite his status, he would be kind of a loser.” She tipped her face towards the sun and briefly closed her eyes. A vacation, a vacation, a vacation, she kept repeating. “I read the intel reports on him, my favorite was Anko’s. She basically just wrote ‘fucking loser’ over and over again on his personality section.”

Genma’s laughter carried through the forest and despite herself, Sakura laughed too.

“Behind closed doors, his own staff and advisors have been trying to get him out of power ever since his father passed,” Kakashi said, absentmindedly turning a page.

“A coup?” Sakura and Genma looked at Kakashi. Preventing political upheaval and getting information back to Konoha was a completely different mission than playing house.

Kakashi shrugged. “We’ve known this for years, his opposition won’t do anything rash. But the Lord is surprisingly politically savvy, he puts his foot down when necessary, loser or not.”

Wordlessly, they simultaneously leapt into the thick foliage of the forest and settled into a line formation with Genma at front and Kakashi in the back. Sakura considers this new intel.

“We likely don’t have to worry about any real political upheaval unless he proves entirely incompetent along with being an embarrassment,” Kakashi continued. “But just something to keep in mind.”

“How do you know this?” Sakura mentally cataloged the reports she read in Tsunade’s office, “I didn’t see any mention of this.”

All of a sudden, Sakura felt his breath at the nape of her neck. She fought the shiver that ran down her back.

“I do work, Sakura,” Kakashi whispered. He immediately fell back and Sakura felt a hot rush flood down her face to the pit of her stomach. She didn’t even hear him coming. 

But looking back, that’s always how he operated. He’d never announce his presence, but she always saw him nearby. After slipping away from the village on confidential missions that even Tsunade wouldn’t disclose, she’d find him sitting in her office for his first post-mission check up in a year. After a hard week at the hospital, or a particularly grueling mission, he’d slide next to her at the bar and order their favorites. 

Jokes under a whisper, the brush of a hand, the faintest outline of a smile, little peeks of what was under the mask.

“I just know that we’re going to have such a great time, Sakura,” Lord Ko purred. His soft hands had imprisoned hers throughout lengthy introductions and while Sakura marveled at his scarless, uncalloused hand at first, she was ready to reduce it to a bloody stump. 

She smiled and nodded as pleasantly as she could muster, trying to pull her hand back to her side. I’m going to kill everyone in this room.

“I’ve been following your work for quite some time,” he grinned, his wide face gleaming at her, not a pore in sight. He continued petting her captive hand while she felt a blood vessel pop in her eye. “I am quite the fan,” he crooned, leaning closer to her on the plush velvet cushion he insisted they share.

“I see, yes, thank you,” she said non committedly, and quickly glanced at the whispering courtiers to the side, hiding behind their fans, eyes pitying her. 

“I can’t wait to see you in--”

“Let’s discuss the security details in private,” Kakashi interrupted, approaching the raised dais Ko and Sakura were seated on. 

The hushed whispers in the room stopped immediately as Kakashi spoke. He and Genma had waited to the side, melting with the shadows of the columns. But as he stood in front of Sakura, it seemed unimaginable that he could ever be overlooked. He stood in stark contrast from the plush velvet rug underneath his boots, the rubies of the chandelier above him. All severe angles and brutal functionality. Genma slipped from the shadows and stood next to Kakashi, acknowledging Lord Ko with a curt nod. 

There was an imperceptible twitch at the Lord’s brow as he assessed the masked pair below him and stared at Kakashi with an air of disingenuous affability. His smooth face broke out in a mild grin and he spread his arms wide--Sakura’s hand in tow.

“You’re ever so correct, ANBU, let the three of us discuss this in more privacy,” Ko said with a flourish of his robes. Surprisingly light on his feet for a large man, he quickly led Sakura down the steps of the dais, thick fabrics trailing behind him. 

Without sparing Genma or Kakashi a glance, Ko brushed past the two while grasping Sakura by the hip. 

Sakura reconsidered homicide.

The palace study, to Sakura’s slight dismay, was breathtaking. They sat at a great oak table, with chairs so wide they could fit two. The cushions were covered in an exquisite cream silk stitched in a pattern to resemble bound ropes. Lord Ko pulled Sakura’s chair for her and the heavy wood slid back on a plush green rug. He sat at the head of the table, facing a stained glass window that made up an entire wall depicting a dragon in flight through the sea. 

Ko rang a bell he procured from one of his deep sleeves and servants filtered through the room and set up tea, water, and some documents. He leaned as far as he could towards Sakura, large belly heaving over his armrest, and Sakura scooted as far away as possible, thankful for the lavish chair. He poured her tea himself, allowing his servants to serve himself, Genma, and Kakashi on delicate porcelain plates. 

Looking across the table, Sakura stifled a smile, watching Kakashi daintily sip from the white and gold teacup in full ANBU uniform. 

“Lord Ko,” Genma said to Sakura’s left, “we’ll need floor plans of the palace, and the proceedings for the ball to best assess security measures.”

Genma, Sakura forgot, was a professional at the end of the day.

“Ah yes, the blueprints,” Ko said airily, “not sure where that would be, you both,” he pointed to Genma and Kakashi with his teacup, “are free to walk around the premises and draw a map.”

Sakura’s brows shot up, and she could sense Genma fighting the urge to lunge at Ko’s neck. The Lord pulled a fan from an inner pocket of his robe and fanned himself as he turned his whole body to Sakura.

“Sakura--”

“Do you have any enemies we should be aware of?” Kakashi interrupted.

Lord Ko continued fanning himself, rings glinting on his thick fingers. “Dig around in the files the servants brought, there’s bound to be some information in there,” he said, never turning his gaze from Sakura. 

Sakura grabbed as many papers as she could and started examining them quickly, anything to distract herself from Lord Ko’s roaming eyes. 

“If all the information is in these documents, we’ll reconvene tomorrow afternoon to discuss,” Genma stated, shuffling folders together and standing up. 

Sakura made a mental note to profess her undying love to Genma as soon as she had the chance. As Sakura made moves to leave, Ko grabbed her armchair and pouted. “We didn’t discuss the ball yet or what the dress code is,” he said desperately, searching her eyes.

“That information isn’t in these files?” she asked weakly, hope seeping out her body.

💄You recognized each of them. One was Gaara. He was the Kazekage of the the Hidden Sand. He had a cute face and luscious red locks.

💄The next was Neji from the prestigious Hyuga Clan. He had the most beautiful eyes.

💄The last was Omoi, a close aid of the Fourth Raikage. His melanated skin was absolutely gorgeous!

💄”I’ve already arranged for you to travel to all three countries so that you can meet with them for your date!” Mei said happily. You widened your eyes. “You did what?!”

💄Mei already had your bags packed and had put you on a large boat to send you to each country.

💄You met Gaara first on your trip to the Hidden Sand. He was respectful and kind but so awkward and inexperienced.

💄You then went to the Hidden Leaf soon after for your date with Neji. He was so intelligent but very condescending. He indirectly called you a harlot as he wasn’t too keen on your skimpy choice of attire…

💄Finally you met Omoi in the Hidden Clouds. He was very funny but his overthinking nature was a huge turn off.

💄You returned home to the Mist just in time for supper. Mei was disappointed when you told her that you wouldn’t be marrying any of her top three choices. She became depressed, spouting out fears on how her own daughter will become an old maid.

💄Ao who was present at supper, decided to chime in. “Well maybe if you dressed like a proper young lady, you’d have a better chance of finding the right man to marry.” You were stunned by his words. You glanced down at your outfit.

💄Your dark blue curve hugging outfit resembled your mother’s only it revealed your cleavage, midriff, and legs. You frowned at Ao. “What’s wrong with my clothes?” Ao scoffed. “Well for starters, it’s too skimpy! It attracts the wrong attention from men.”

💄He shook his head disapprovingly. “Seriously, is this how young ladies your age like to dress? Back in my day…”

💄Ao rambled on. You flinched seeing a darkened, furious, expression on Mei who has been silent the whole time. She was absolutely fuming at Ao’s words. You shrunk in your seat as she gets up before walking over to Ao.

💄”Shut up. Or die.”

💄Ao screamed in terror at that. You didn’t blame him. Your mom was scary when she was angry. You shrieked a bit when she turned to you giving you a sweet smile.

💄”Don’t listen to him, Sweetheart. You’re beautiful just the way you are. Now hurry up and find a husband soon okay?” She said. You nodded nervously. “Okay, mommy.”

💄Not wanting to upset her further, you decided to survey your options here at home in the Hidden Mist.

💄 The Seven Swordsmen of the Mist were like family. They were your personal bodyguards who followed you whenever you left the mansion. One or two guarded you at a time. You didn’t like it as you just wanted to have freedom. But at least he was attractive.

💄You were walking through the village with Kisame when you heard some men talking.

💄”Hey it’s Y/N Terumi!”

💄”She’s so pretty!”

💄”I’d smash!”

💄You blush at the comments. Kisame sees this and smirks at you. “You’ve grown to be quite attractive haven’t you? Why, if you were a little older, I’d make you my woman…” he joked.

💄A few weeks later, you chased Kisame down in the misty forest when you saw him leave. “Why are you leaving Kisame?! Don’t go!” You cried.

💄Kisame stopped and turned around seeing your tears. “I hate to see a pretty face in tears.” He walked up to you and wiped your tears away with his large blue thumb before putting a finger under your chin to tilt it to meet his eyes.

💄”Come with me to discover a world without lies,” he said with a grin. You shook your head. He sounded crazy and too far gone. “No! I’m not leaving the village or my mommy!”

💄”Thats a real shame, Y/N…” Kisame said as he raised his sword at you. Before you could react, you had blacked out from the strike.

💄You woke up in your room on a comfy large bed. The first thing you saw was the relieved expression of Mei. “Oh, my poor baby!” She cried. She gave you a kiss on the forehead.

💄You groan as you sat up a bit. “What…happened?” Mei saddened. “Kisame attacked you before leaving the village. Chojuro found you alone in the forest.”

💄You frowned. So he did leave. Now you were left saddened. Both Zabuza and Kisame were among your favorites among the swordsmen. Mei saw that you were sad and pulled you into a hug. “I’m just glad your safe, Sweetheart.” Although you were sad, you were grateful to your mom for comforting you.

💄You decided you wanted away from all the drama. You went to hang out with your childhood friends, the Hozuki brothers.

💄Mangetsu and Suigetsu went on deadly missions to prove themselves as capable swordsmen, all while competing for your love.

💄Mangetsu was a friendly gentleman who made you feel safe. He gave you hand kisses and always told you how beautiful you were.

💄Suigetsu was funny and always showed you a good time. He was openly flirty with you, catching you off guard with his sexy smirks and winks.

💄When they came back from a deadly mission, you rewarded them both with cheek kisses. The brothers would then get on either sides of you and kiss your cheeks too. It was practically a routine with the three of you.

💄Suigetsu decided to be his cheeky self. “When are you gonna give me a real kiss, Cupcake? I think I deserve it after that last mission,” he winked. You blushed at that. Mangetsu glared at his sibling. “Be respectful!”

💄Suigetsu smirked at him. “Fine, I will.” He took his water bottle off his belt and handed it to you. “Want a sip?” You smiled and took it. “Sure! Thanks!”

💄You sipped the water, enjoying the cool taste. Suigetsu gives you a toothy grin. “Heh heh heh…that was our first kiss…”

💄You widened your eyes in realization as your cheeks flushed a deep red. You took your lips off the straw, stopping the indirect kiss. Mangetsu just glared at his brother. He wasn’t going down without a fight.

💄Mangetsu asked you out on a date. He took you to a quiet misty forest for a picnic. It was way more romantic than the ones you had with Gaara, Neji, and Omoi.

💄Your dear Mama Mizukage was over the moon when you told her about the date. “Has my baby found a husband from the Hozuki Family? I’m so happy for you, Sweetheart!”

💄”Mommy, we’re not getting married!” You say. Mei glared at you. “Nonsense! No daughter of mine will grow up to be an old maid! I’ll make arrangements immediately!”

💄Mei did just that. Mangetsu was officially your fiancé. He was ecstatic to have your hand in marriage. Men around the world went crazy as they were disappointed that none of them would have a chance to be with you. At the very least, you were happy. Mangetsu was always charming.

💄On top of everything, Mangetsu was just appointed as the newest member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, so he was closely by your side. He insisted to be the only one worthy of guarding you from now on.

💄Everything was happening so fast. Mei even started planning the wedding that you would have in a few years. Mangetsu was kind to take things slow with you.

💄He was there for you when you least expected it, like the one time he killed some thugs who were attempting your life while you were taking a bath. You were surprised when Mangetsu asked to join you.

💄”Don’t be shy. We’re going to be married anyway,” Mangetsu said as he started removing his clothes. He then joined you in the tub and even offered to wash your back. You let him.

💄You sighed blissfully as you felt the suds massage you. You moaned when Mangetsu reached his hands in front of you to wash your breasts. “M-Mangetsu…” you moaned.

💄He brought his lips to your ear. “When we’re married, I’ll wash you like this every night if you’d like…” he whispers huskily. You hummed in delight. “Yeah, that’d be nice.” Mangetsu smiled. “I can’t wait to marry you!” You blushed when he brought his soft lips to your neck, lightly grazing it with his sharp teeth.

💄You and Mangetsu said your goodbyes afterwards. You walked in your room in just a towel and to your surprise you saw Suigetsu. He had broken into your room.

💄Suigetsu backs you into a wall and puts a hand under your chin. “I wanna marry you. Don’t pick my brother. Choose me,” he smiles.

💄Despite everything, you couldn’t help but feel smittened. The fact that he broke into your room to propose alone was really hot.

💄Suigetsu leaned in close and stole your first kiss right then and there. He sunk his sharp teeth into your lip before soothing it with a slow and hot kiss to lick the blood away.

💄Your knees started to give out after the kiss. Suigetsu caught you before you fell to the bed. Your towel started to slip off but he grabbed it just in time.

💄”Stay away from my wife!” You heard. You both turned seeing Mangetsu at the door. He glared daggers at his brother. Suigetsu glared back. “She deserves better! Y/N’s mine!”

This one I had so much fun writing because it was just based off the silly idea that Shisui’s hair gets too long, and he holds his hair back from his eyes with a red ribbon. This idea was formed in the Sakura Haruno server, and it just was so sweet and I loved every second of it 🥰

2. Stealing His Shirt Has Never Felt So Good—E, KankuSaku, complete, “Sakura keeps her boyfriend's shirt before he leaves to train. Boyfriend comes back, she's a bit of a brat, and he punishes her with a ton of orgasms.”

I have no explanation for this fic except for the fact that I saw some amazing horny art of Kankuro, proceeded to obsess over said art and write this fic for 9 months, and well, yeah. Here we are 😂

Hello it's me again, I hope you don't mind me bothering you about this again!! Could you maybe provide a basic description of everyone's general personality and habits for the Character AI thing?

Sure! It’s kind of long so I hope that’s ok

Suns: comes off as a bit narcissistic with a whole bunch of pride for themselves. It’s rare for them to give anyone any sort of empathy, but it’s not impossible. They have a habit of pointing fun of others sometimes, but mainly Moon.

Moon: fairly serious especially when it comes to Pebbles. She looks down on others most of the time, but if in a good mood she’ll show just a bit of kindness. She also has a bit of an anger issue.

Sliver: quiet and talks the least to any of the Iterators. She often speaks in quotes and loves telling stories of her past. She has a habit of talking to herself sometimes.

Sig: Cat obsessed goofy bastard. Absolutely loves telling the cringiest jokes imaginable and loves hugs to no end. He often gets distracted easily, but he’s able to at least hold a goofy conversation. Sig will get serious if they need to. Think of him as a sort of goofy therapist.

Pebbs: can be a brat sometimes but their ego has been absolutely watered down by Suns and Moon. Pebbles would rather distract himself from the world around him, just to stay sane and not have a complete mental breakdown. If he’s chill another he likes hugs quite q bit.

Wind: very calm and collected. They are one of the main ones to try and keep the group from falling apart completely. Will chat for hours and a time of needed to and kinda acts like a therapist to anyone who is really just not feeling it. They have a habit of getting lost in thought sometimes.

Ino: absolutely chaotic. Loves pointing fun at anyone no matter who they are. Will actively listen to and drama you tell em and has a habit with interrupting sometimes or completely changing the subject.

if kishi supposedly hates sakura then what’s this? and aren’t these characters based on real people?. i’m confused i keep hearing different stories, and is it true that he originally wanted to make sns canon but couldn’t because of his editors?

I didn't say he hates Sakura. Lol. It's a little more nuanced than that. This post explains it in detail. What he certainly does is that he consistently writes her with many negative shades. But the way he talks about her in his interviews, where he said she was addicted to Sasuke (and used a kanji that has a negative connotation for it), saying things like Sasuke deals with her by staying away, lol, saying he didn't give Sakura a reason to love Sasuke because it would have felt 'contrived', lol, what does that say as to what he thinks about her character?

At the end of the day, what matters is how he writes her character in the manga itself. What kind of behavioral features he gives her, what kind of tropes, how does he establish her character, how does he develop her arc, how does he show her conflict, what happens to her that influences her in a crucial manner and resolves her conflict, and then finally changes her for the better. What does the trajectory of her arc look like? In terms of emotional and intellectual development? How does her coming of age happens? Is she a better person at the end of the story? Has she evolved? Has she learnt better? Is she more mature about things that matter to her? Is she a better warrior in terms of fighting (as this is a battle manga)?

These are things a reader should ask themselves when they judge a character.

Let me summarize it to you the questions writers ask themselves when they write a character :

Who is it about? What do they want? Why can't they get it? What did they do about it? Why doesn't that work? How does it end?

And all of it is manifested in the narrative.

When you look at Sakura's character, you see how she hasn't evolved in the ways that matter the most, as portrayed in the narrative. Look for it here.

Sakura remains the same person from the start till the end. Her arc is so flat, you can serve sushi on it. Just like Hinata's. Where you see other characters, even minor and side characters such as Chouji, Ino and Konohamaru have pretty decent arcs where there is a clear difference between how they used to be and how they developed as per their circumstances, you see Hinata and Sakura remain the same pathetic people from start to finish.

I am aware that many fans tend to look for the most cursory and surface level aspects to come to their conclusions about characters. Sigh. Go to the main source. The manga. The story, the narrative. That's where you will find all your answers.

No, Kishi never meant SNS to be endgame. This is shounen, he couldn't have legitimized an official m/m relationship in it. He meant to keep Shippuden open ended stopping at Naruto and Sasuke's reconciliation. But the expansion of the franchise, ie, Boruto, meant that he had to make SS and NH canon so as to produce brats for Boruto.

Yes, Kishi based some of his characters on real people, but that's just some aspects of those people. He didn't go in detail about what aspects they were. That's how writers draw their inspiration. How they develop those characters is determined by the plot. It doesn't imply anything more.

I love LOVE the Sakura-Tsunade-Ino-Kakashi dynamic there. It actually distantly reminds me of the Persephone and Demeter myth, how Demeter grieved her daughter so much that the world went into a deep famine, and the gods didn't have offerings because people starved.

In this case, the gods might have small or wilted flowers as offerings and Sakura tries her best to give Ino the best

Ino and Sakura's love seems so strong 💜🩷

Ino and Sakura’s love is very strong, and Ino hates seeing Sakura fret over the garden she cares so much about. She will happily face down the god of storms and drag him by the ear to the garden if she has to, just to make Sakura smile again.

And Rin is definitely the one balancing Obito and Kakashi out. She’s constantly trying to get the two of them to stop messing around and has told Kakashi not to be a brat to his brother XD Sakumo has tried in the past but he’s so tired with what these two do and neither of them really listen to him.

Sakura does actually like the god of storms, but there’s a lot of times when he’s not really available. The great famine actually comes from Minato and Kushina being killed by one of the other gods (I kinda wanna say Obito in a fit of rage XD) but there’s some stories connected to them. The most popular one is that upon Sakura’s death Ino fell into a depression and stopped growing flowers for years, so there was no beautiful flowers to brighten people’s spirits.

Even flower’s created by other gods, like the forget-me-nots and water lillies, stopped blooming because of Ino’s sadness and nothing seemed to help heal her wounded heart.

Got a bit of controversy, who are your bottom three, least favourite characters and why?

Hinata, Ino and Gai. Absolutely appalling characters. I can't fucking stand them.

As for why...

Hinata: I hate how she interacts with Naruto the most. There's not a lot of interaction in part 1 through to blank period, besides sprinkles of moments. She always watches Naruto from afar, which in some cases wouldn't be too bad but she's literally fucking stalking him. Watching him from behind trees, or poles, and he doesn't have a clue. I'm fairly sure if he DID know he'd rule her out as a love interest, because it's fucking creepy. He called her creepy when she was first introduced. Their relationship and marriage is super unsafe, because of that past where Hinata watched him obsessively without him knowing she's there. It's not a cute love story, it's unhealthy and not at all good. I also hate how the anime hit her with the skinny bitch stick. In the Manga Hinata's got actual weight, she's a bit wider, and I can actually relate to that because it's more realistic than just copy pasted stick figures like the girls are drawn. Hinata's outfits throughout the series also bother me. In part 1 her design was really cute, but in part 2 and the blank period her outfits her really impractical. Mostly blank period. In part 2 she doesn't look at all like she's going to be doing Ninja things, she looks like she's wearing pyjamas. And her blank period mission outfit is so skintight and constricting. She's not getting far at all with that. I also dislike how her clans tradition are thrown out the window, with her hair. It's an important part of the Hyuuga clan, to show rank. I liked how her hair is longer in part 2 and the blank period, because it shows her progress within her clan. It shows that she's grown, even if her actual fights don't show it too much. Hinata could have and should have been written so much differently than whatever the fuck we were given. There's a lot of opportunities and potential with the Hyuuga clan, and only Neji really holds that up.

Ino: Ino is a terrible person. Fat shaming people, being a snotty brat, she's outright terrible. She fatshamed Chouji for literal years, constantly picking at his weight even with Shikamaru, and even Naruto, getting up her for it. Even after learning it's linked with his abilities and he saves her life, she barely tones it down for a short time. And she continues to do it in Shippuden, although lessened. Realise, Ino-Shika-Chou wouldn't happen in the next generation because of Shikamaru, Chouji and Ino. I don't think Shikamaru and Chouji are stupid enough to let their kids near someone as toxic and terrible as Ino. It'd happen in the academy if Shikadai and ChouChou decided to make friends with Ino. Ino even shamed Anko for eating at the Chuunin exams. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd pick on ChouChou for her weight as well. It doesn't even stop there - with Sakura, who a lot of people consider to be Ino's "best friend", she treats like garbage. Constantly attacking Sakura's insecurities (her forehead), telling her she's less of a woman and less than her. Some people can improve how they are, but Ino isn't one of them. There is no redemption for that. On a nicer note, I dislike how her design when from bandage accessories to fishnets. It seemed unnecessary to change, and bandages are also more unique.

Gai: Gai is obnoxious, annoying, and an abusive prick. Punching and hitting Lee for no damn reason. In Naruto SD he punches Lee just for getting excited. He's physically and verbally abusive to Lee, and neglectful to his other two students. Horrible, horrible man.
