Wanna purchase some beadwork? Live in Canada but have conflicting feelings about it's history and want to support the Indigenous people that live here? Do you just feel fed up with Canada Day nonsense?
Here are some beadwork artists in MY neighborhood that you should check out!
C'eldzïn Beadwork! I've bought her work before (the bisexual earrings) and she was kind enough to change said earrings to clip-ons for me! Her work is gorgeous and I highly recommend it!

Small Town Earrings!! They have very cute beadwork pieces, including some Pokemon and LOZ themed ones!!! I highly recommend their work as well!
Tumblr media
Strong Blood Creations!! They're a trio of Indigenous women that create and distribute beadwork; I bought a hair clip from them recently that was absolutely gorgeous!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carmen Redunante! She's a Nisga'a/Chilean artist who sells absolutely gorgeous beadwork as well as other jewelry, prints, and and tapestry!!

More artists may be added later!!
This post was brought to you by: an almost exact same thread I did on twitter that I posted right as the entire site imploded so I decided to share the artists here so that they'd actually get traction! Twitter sucks

I'm a little behind in posting this, but in June I finished up a second mural at John MacLure Community School.
I decided to illustrate he salmon life cycle in almost a story book or colouring page theme. The mural is located in a large "nook" in the hallway at the main entrance featuring two spawning sockeye. Trailing behind behind the mural is additional flowing imagery of salmon eggs, fry, and alevin. It was a challenge taking a full photo of the space due to limitations of the hallway space and lighting. You can also see the Thunderbird mural I created last year out the window.

When it comes to textured hair there’s many styles, here some I’ve seen at powwows. Braided locs have to be my favorite style so far 💖
(Edit)- i didn’t communicate this very well but this is a merging of cultures. Culturally/traditionally no we didn’t have cornrows/locs these are black hairstyles, and then mixed with our hairstyles because of the influence of Afro indigenous people (the two braids)💖 having two braids for some regalia is very important and so these are hairstyles I’ve seen Afro natives wear for powwows. Not saying two pigtails are just a native thing but cultural context is important
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reminder braids are not a universal hairstyle between tribes! I’m coming from the perspective of Great Plains tribes. I just thought I might share what braided hair means to my community and people. I see people trying to make ocs or redesigns of characters who are native but don’t actually represent us too good. Reminder to always research a tribe before making a character learn their protocols and at least try to learn something new! 🌸💖🍇

I just wanna say I love our hair! It means so much to us please take care of it🥺💖

A mixed media piece I've been working on; primarily acrylic on wood with addition of paint markers and various colored pencil types. I cannot stress to you enough how excited I am about how this piece is coming.

J.F. Sambrano is an indigenous author and historian behind numerous rpg books, including a number of Werewolf: the Apocalypse official supplements. He was a part of the original Hunters team that worked on the initial framing of Werewolf 5th edition. James is going public, accusing Karim Muammar, "Chief" Editor of PDX, of anti-indigenous practices and promoting genocide within the writing team, and bullying him off the project. It is incredibly important that people see the truth of what's going on behind the scenes of Werewolf: the Apocalypse 5th edition with your own eyes. Please read and spread this everywhere you can.
I'm getting ready to share this on social media and some forums, but since a few people have been asking me in this community, I thought I'd start here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/werewolf-5th-and-86463964?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link
