open to: m/f/anyone plot: Cristine & your muse met on unexpectedly while checking out a ransacked convenience store & are having a little stand-off. The undead broke in or appeared from a back loading dock, chasing the two into a barricaded location where they're trying to wait it out a bit to see if things will calm down or they can escape in another way. you can hmu if you'd like to plot! connection: another survivor location: convenience store back room or storage closet.

Her back was against the wall, arms resting loosely atop her denim covered knees as Cris listened to the low moan and grunts of the undead on the other side of the wall she sat against. The door was jammed shut with a solid barrier in front of it but the only problem was that they couldn't get out that way, brown eyes snapped up to the other person sharing the small space with Cristine and the woman sized them up silently before she filled her lungs with a big inhale and exhale through her nose. With a little wave of her hand Cris tried to get their attention before she offered a somewhat lame but still pretty friendly smile, given their circumstances she had no right to make demands or even ask for anything but Cristine hated the tension in the silence between them.

"You wouldn't happen to have a fucking cigarette, would you?" She asked, mostly mouthing the words but what voice could be heard was certainly in a whisper. Cris didn't want to alert the dead to their presence but fuck did she need a cigarette, that was why she'd gone into this damn store in the first place. Since being separated from her younger brother and sister, Cristine had been trying to fill the emptiness she felt inside her chest every waking moment. Cigarette's always had been a vice of hers but the scarce resource had evaded her while she used it to distract her from the probability that her siblings were dead. "-- or a joint?" Cris added a little excitedly, brows arching in mild expectation even though she knew that likelihood would be less than the other having a cigarette.

Open to all! / Apocalypse verse Plot: Justin has been camping outside of the boundary of a survivor group for a little while now, watching them but never moving close enough to engage. He suspects the group is run by his estranged relatives who are likely killing and cannibalizing people. That's his theory at least. @indiestarter

The overgrowth guarded him, keeping his meager camp out of sight while he watched the fortress. Fortified walls and a guard at the entrance. Justin had watched people go in. No one came out. He doubted they ever would. He wondered how many people were really inside. Just how big had they gotten? His bitter ego wanted to lash out- there couldn't be that many. It was contained. Somewhat. But logic, itching in the back of his mind along with basic circumstance, gave way to doubt. It was a decent bit of land they were sitting on . . . Justin retreated, silently climbing down from his tree. There were no options here, because anything other than an overwhelming win was unacceptable. He had enough resources to deal with the dead- He sighed, checking his ammo again. It just wasn't enough. Not for family matters. It'd be best to just move on. Hope someone else dealt with it. He'd failed this battle too many times.

Justin stayed just a little while longer, unable to pull himself away so easily as he watched the entrance. Nothing happened. Nothing was going to happen and if he didn't start moving now, he'd have to move through the night, when the dead seemed to multiply out of nowhere and were that much harder to detect. Things had gotten out of hand. In the early days, people had talked about a cure. Now, there was just survival.

He walked away.

Hours passed, darkness falling sooner than it should have as clouds gathered overhead, promising a cold rain. He needed to find- or more likely- make shelter soon, or risk getting sick. It was just then, as Justin checked over his shoulders and looked for a suitable place around him that he felt it- Of course. The second he looked up from his feet- the line tightened around his foot, pulling him up quickly to hang from a tree. "Seriously? What the fuck?" Justin sighed. He really did have the shittiest luck in the whole universe sometimes. At least this time he was somewhat prepared, his bag, while slipping from his shoulder, was held firmly in his hand and he still had most of his blood in the appropriate places. If he just played his cards right.

A figure came from behind him, whistling and making a grab for the straps of his bag. Justin held firm, pulling it back. "Over my dead body." He was too close. He was too close. The camp wasn't that far away. He didn't know who was out there. The camp was too damn close!

PLOT: so someone f-ed up and started a zombie apocalypse, (whether it was umbrella corp, the government, accidental or on purpose can be discussed!) but jaya was hired to recover some files from a research facility’s computers. unfortunately, she’s found herself trapped in the lab. why y/m is there is utp! cue surviving the apocalypse together. connection is utp. just no inc*st/stepc*st or nonc*n!

The broken glass she’d scattered in front of the couch that she’d pushed to the side crunched, waking her up with a start. She’d set up a fairly impressive barricade that no mindless zombie could make it past…but still. Her hand landed on the sawed shotgun next to her head as she sat up abruptly, half awake as she looked for the source of the sound. “Well, you don’t look like a zombie. So I’m gonna assume you’re not one.” Jaya started in lieu of a greeting, before she shook her head. “Sorry, let me start over. I’m Jaya. I don’t suppose you have a way to get out of here?”

open to: anybody! muse: hunter andersen, daughter of a survivalist cult leader prior to the apocalypse. setting: u-pick apocalypse! she’s on night time guard duty of a camp she recently joined and found a guitar that some folks play to stay awake on duty. up to you if our muses have spoken before or if this is a first impression. triggers: apocalyptic themes as well as cults, chronic illness, abuse, parental death as themes in hunter’s background.

come wander with me, love. come wander with me. hunter’s fingers remembered the chords better than her mind did. it had been a long time since she’d had her hand on a guitar. let alone one that stayed pretty well in tune. away from this sad world. come wander with me. she sang softly, strumming gently. she’d never been much for playing with a pick. most’ve the songs she’d learned had finger picking patterns anyway, so she’d just never bothered with ‘em. once her mother died, she hadn’t really bothered to pick up a guitar neither. being alone, she hadn’t really seen the point.  it just slowed her down.

letting her voice be swallowed in the dark silence of the night, the strings died along with them as she steadied her fingers on the neck of the guitar. a rare sheepish expression crossed her face; it had been a long time since she’d been around another person long enough to have potentially disturbed them. “sorry for disturbin’ you.” she could survive out there on her own. she had been for a long time, but this place seemed worth staying and she wasn’t about to alienate the folks who’d let her in. not so long as she felt like they were with keeping company with. “it’s just been so long since i’ve played.”

* MY BEST FRIEND IS A ROCKSTAR: (tw: death) muse a & muse b have been best friends since they were kids and grew up together. throughout their childhood, muse b had always told muse a about his plans to become a famous musician and as he grew older, became more and more determined to make those dreams come true. when they both hit their teen years, feelings eventually grew and the two were head over heels for each other but neither of them was ever able to admit it. they were both terrified that the feelings would be unrequited or that it would ruin their friendships so just imagine the angst of them seeing each other with other people and FGHDFG. anyway, when muse b finally turns twenty-one, he decides to move to hollywood to make his dreams come true, and muse a stays in their small hometown. they keep in contact with one another but as time went on, muse b becomes a huge rockstar with his band and their contact start to drift but they always had each other in their thoughts, wishing they were closer to one another. a few years pass and they still speak but it’s not like before. muse b was hugely successful and enjoyed the life he was now living but always felt like something was missing. that someone was missing… it’s not until he gets a distraught call from muse a telling him that her mother died does he rush on a private jet and comes home to her. after helping her arrange the funeral and being there for her through her grief, he suggests that she comes on tour with him and the band. wanting to run away from everything and everyone in her small town, she agrees. queue cute ass moments on the tour bus, traveling the world and falling in love like they did when they were young. add drama, angst ( because they’re both still dumb and won’t admit to their feels) stadium tours, TENSION!!!, groupies, etc, etc.
