Indian Chaotic Academia Pt. 1
Wanting to wear jumpers and hoodies but changing your mind after looking at the daily temperature
Scoring 97% in English in your board exams but your spoken English makes you sound like you are an illiterate crackhead
Messy yet (somewhat) intelligible handwriting
A weak spot for old Bollywood songs regardless of your personal taste in music
Wanting to study in a park or a cafe but you can't as they're too loud and busy
Adrak chai is the solution to everything
Muting the class WhatsApp group so you can read angsty fanfiction at 3 a.m. without alerting your parents
Buying several highlighters but still end up using blunt pencils to mark important study material
At some point, a B is the best grade you'll ever find in your report card
Reading the Mahabharata at the back of the class in the same way you would read a modern novel ("Nooo, why did he have to die 😭")
Coming up with ideas for study charts but never actually making them
The poem you have to learn in your regional language class is actually your favourite childhood song
Getting the 'Slytherin house' that always comes last in every school event

28.05: planning a three month long break; using a mug that's been lying on my shelf unused since forever; making some progress on my reading; creating my portfolio
i have about three months before my masters begins, and i want to use it extensively to learn subjects that i don't get to study academically or professionally. i'm also planning to learn sanskrit. i don't have a lot of confidence for it, but i'm gonna try anyway.
self study requires so much discipline. being a designer, my graduation in the design field didn't require me to "study" as much. in fact, i've not had a written exam in like 6 years. i did have a lot of presentations, case studies and juries though, which seems worse to me. but i think that's a classic case of the grass being greener on the other side.
my neurodivergent brain created a massive list of hobbies to pursue, subjects to learn and books to read. i'm really excited for the next three months though, it's all about how i plan and prioritise the things i want to do. (i won't, it's gonna be a chaotic hot mess but let's humour my enthusiasm).

Lakshmi & Parvati core
In my eyes, Lakshmi is this soft, compassionate and lively girl who loves flowers, jewellery and the ocean and Parvati is a wild, carefree and fierce spirit who loves animals, the hills and rains.
Parvati and Lakshmi often go out together and on double date picnics with their husbands. All of them are besties. Parvati braids Shiva's hair as Lakshmi puts makeup and shringaar on her beloved Vishnu.
"Whenever you and your husband dance, it's the tandav of destruction. Whenever me and my husband dance, it's raas ~ the dance of pleasure. And the universe celebrates!" Lakshmi teased
Parvati pouted, "Let me show you REAL tandav and raas. Come HEREE" and chased Lakshmi all around the forest, giggling and catching her then swirling her around in her arms.
Shiva deep in meditation, sneakily opened an eye and whispered "What are they doing?"
"Ahh, nothing. Just enjoy the show! Want some?" Vishnu passed over some popcorn to him, "Oh, look! They're dancing now."
A playful innocence danced in Shiva's eyes "I also want to.." as he suddenly leapt up and started playing his damru, jogging towards them.
Vishnu ran after him, joining them as they all danced together and laughed.

How hopeless a poet was when he wrote this line:
"Tum se bohat kuch kehna hai magar, kabhi tum nahi milte kabhi alfaaz nahi milte."

female friendships are so precious and beautiful. sisterhood is so inherent in women. there is a life force where many women are sitting together and conversing. their giggles reverberates through the deepest chambers of the even the coldest of hearts & softens them. when they take care of each other together from oiling their hair turn by turn by to putting henna on each other’s palms, everything is a sacred offering to some source unseen; but only felt. they spend hours talking about things unfathomable from the basis of love to the state of the world, the soul, beauty, last, present & future & many other philosophies. because when they’re sitting in a room together that’s where they’re easily allowed to ‘be’. here, they aren’t someone being smothered by alotted identities. they aren’t just someone’s sister or daughter or even lover, but just humans trying to make the most out of their freedom to breathe.
