these are my thoughts as well!! disclaimer that obviously so much of this is speculation and projection about two men we don't actually know BUT

i've talked about this before with some beloved mutuals and i do think that the most likely explanation for why ja'marr tends to walk some of his crazier comments back is that he might get insecure about their friendship when joe is not quite as vocal as him about it!

i feel like out of all of the bat-siblings, jason is the one who puts on a persona similar to how bruce acts in public, but not because he wants to keep people from suspecting that he’s the red hood but because of how much it really unsettles the people that really know him, especially his siblings.

Some more thoughts about Dungeons and Drag Queens (D20), especially Brennan’s presentation as DM

Brennan spent a large chunk of his life attending or working at a LARP camp. He’s no stranger to dressing up for games. He played a space wizard on Ultramechatron Go. He’s no stranger to dressing up on camera.

But in Dimension 20, he is resolutely Some Guy™️ and honestly it feels like he is doing that to make D&D and other TTRPGs as approachable as possible. You don’t have to go over the top. You don’t have to dress up. You can just be Some Person™️ and let your imagination do the heavy lifting

Which brings us to D&DQ. Brennan is full glam. And people are Horny™️ for it. But I think a lot of people might be missing the point. Doing an all Drag Side Quest is a political statement in America right now. And if Brennan was just Some Guy™️ he could potentially give fuel to folks (who don’t actually know anything about him) to say “look at what the dropout sjws are forcing on this poor cis-het dude”

So Brennan cheerfully dons A Lewk™️. For the first time, Denise the super talented makeup artist gets a crack at his face. And yes, he’s meeting his players where they are. And he’s doing his best to let the spotlight shine on the Queens. But. He’s visible. He’s (intentionally or not) telling the world “If you want to come for them you’ll have to come through me”

Don’t get me wrong, I love the “Brennan hotboi!” takes. And maybe I’m reading too much into it. But I love the feeling that this cis-het white boy got sprayed with glitter, tossed on Eursulon’s pauldron, and said “I got y’all. It’s safe here.”

The trio gets sent to dc. Not really sent but they had commandeered the ops center. And mayhaps flew the blimp through a portal. One that didn’t go to the ghost zone but a completely different dimension.

The solution.

Keep the blimp on defense mode while Danny get parts to update the Fenton communicator to travel through dimensions.

The problem.

People in cosplay keep trying to get into the ops center and then others are getting in Danny’s way of scavenging of parts.

I’m having many thoughts about the DSMP finale.

I don’t think anything like DSMP will ever happen again, if I’m being perfectly honest. Nothing is ever going to come close to just how MASSIVE it was, and how momentous it’s all felt. Like over 100k people were tuning in to watch MCRP lore at some points, which is INSANE. And like the insane amount of love put into it by (most of) the people on it, and the fans. The fanart, fansongs, recreations of the server, animatics, everything really! Stuff like Sad-Ist’s animations, Derivakat’s songs based off the characters and events, and like!!! So much more!!!! And the work of the CCs!!!!! Stuff like Quackity’s Las Nevadas streams or BadBoyHalo’s Eggpire streams with their INSANELY high quality productions, with the former even having it’s own music??? That’s INSANE!!

And like, despite EVERYTHING. The Dream situatuon, the slow and uneventful downfall of the server, the Nuke ending. I still LOVE this server, and don’t see myself leaving it’s fandom ANYTIME soon. and I’ll probably love it for the rest of my life. It’s literally changed my life for the better. Introduced me to so many lovely people I never would’ve seen otherwise, made me improve my writing and my art, and literally got me through SO MANY tough times in my life. And it introduced me to so many content creators I never would’ve gotten into in the first place. It’s done so much for me, and has done so much for so many other people, and I don’t think that can be overlooked, because I doubt something like that is ever going to happen again.
