ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES BOMB HUNGRY CIVILIANS RECEIVING FOOD AID IN THE NORTHERN GAZA ON DAY 160

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued its war of genocide against the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip for the 160th day, committing a total of 7 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of at least 69 civilians, mostly women and children, and wounding another 110 others over the previous 24-hours.

According to Gaza's Ministry of Health, many civilians remain missing, with a number of victims still trapped under the rubble of their homes, or scattered through the streets, while Zionist forces continue to prevent ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching the sites of massacres.

In a new blatant violation of International humanitarian law, occupation soldiers once again opened fire with live bullets, in conjunction with airstrikes, targeting starving Palestinian families as they attempted to receive food aid near the Al-Kuwaiti roundabout in Gaza City. As a result of the mass slaughter, at least 7 Palestinians were killed and another 86 hungry civilians were wounded in the illegal attack.

At the same time, Israeli occupation forces launched an airstrike that targeted a civilian residence in the Jabalia Refugee Camp, in the north of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of a civilian and wounding a number of others.

Similarly, an IOF drone strike targeting a civilian vehicle in the village of Khirbet al-Adas, near Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, killed another two Palestinians and wounded several others.

According to local reporting, Zionist aircraft launched at least four raids on the city of Rafah over the previous 24-hours, including yesterday's raid in which Israeli occupation forces bombed a UNRWA food distribution center, resulting in the deaths of five Palestinians and wounding dozens of others, including the death of a civilian employee of UNRWA and the wounding of 22 other civilian workers for the UN agency.

In the south of the Gaza Strip, reports of intense guerilla warfare battles are coming from an Israeli Commander with the Israeli occupation Commando Brigade named Omer Cohen, who acknowledged that the heated battles in Hamad Town, in the Khan Yunis governate, are unlike any of the battles experienced by occupation forces anywhere else in the Palestinian enclave so far.

In statements issued to the Hebrew Haaretz newspaper, the Palestinian media highlighted the Commander's comments in which he is quoted as saying, "We have been in Hamad City for a week and two days. We have fought here a fight that we have not seen anywhere else in the Strip so far."

"Hamas has greater capabilities to manage the forces here, and this is clear in the fighting that took place over the past few days," Cohen added.

The Zionist Commander also highlighted the fact that Hamad Town is filled with Palestinian resistance fighters, as well as advanced combat equipment, including advanced high explosives which have already been wielded against the invading Israeli occupation soldiers.

"While Hamas in large parts of the Gaza Strip lost its ability to command and control, but here in the Hamad neighborhood the (combat) formation is still operating," the Commander concluded.

While intense battles continued in Hamad Town, Zionist air forces continued to bombard various areas in Gaza, including a strike which targeted the home of the Al-Attar family in the Al-Bureij Refugee Camp in the central Gaza Strip, killing at least 9 Palestinians and wounding another 15 others. The wounded were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

Meanwhile, IOF warplanes bombed a civilian residence in the Al-Mughraqa neighborhood, while another strike targeted a civilian home in the Al-Nuseirat Camp, as well as a home in Al-Zahraa City.

Zionist artillery shelling also targeted civilian residences in Khan Yunis, where a number of civilian casualties were reported as a result of the attacks.

Back in Hamad Town, after intense battles in the area pummeled the Hamad residential towers, dozens of bodies of the dead and wounded were recovered from civilian homes, as well as from the streets of the city. Reports say at least 24 bodies of martyrs were recovered from the area.

Artillery fired from an Israeli gunboat also hit the tents of displaced Palestinian families in the Al-Mawasi neighborhood, west of Khan Yunis, however, luckily, no injuries were reported at the time of publishing.

Another Zionist airstrike targeted a civilian home in the El-Geneina neighborhood of Rafah city, resulting in the wounding of a number of civilians.

Occupation forces also withdrew from the Al-Qarara area, revealing massive destruction of residential neighborhoods and its surroundings.

Israeli fighter jets also bombed at least two civilian vehicles in the enclave, killing four civilians, while another Zionist bombing targeted agricultural lands near the border with Egypt. Luckily, no injuries were reported in the bombing.

As a result of Israel's ongoing war of genocide against the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip, the death toll among the civilian population has risen in excess of 31'341 martyrs, more than 25'000 of which being women and children according to the United States Pentagon, while another 73'134 Palestinian civilians have been wounded since the beginning of the current round of Israeli aggression beginning on October 7th, 2023.

Lewisohn vs. Cynthia Lennon, Pt. 1 of 3

Seems like we're getting some momentum, eh? Let's keep it going! To that end, here is the first of three posts comparing Tune In against Cynthia Lennon's memoirs. Cyn wrote two memoirs: A Twist of Lennon (1978, henceforth Twist) and John (2005). Lewisohn cites Twist 21 times and John five times, twice in conjunction with Twist. Of these citations, I found issues with sixteen of them. I'm deferring judgment on footnote 9-33 at this time, as it cites three other sources that I haven't gone through yet.

Cyn's memoirs were used both for quotes and for factual information in Tune In. In general, the quotes were less mangled than the ones taken from the 1980 Playboy interview, but I also stumbled upon some other issues, namely plagiarism and mischaracterization of certain events. Some of that will pop up here, but I intend to make standalone posts to explore those issues further.

Twist p.25-6 vs. Tune In 11-22

This passage describes the emotional timbre of John and Cyn’s relationship starting from their art school days. Tune In gives a mostly faithful account – I’ve underlined/highlighted some details that are consistent in both books. There was one line that stuck out to me in Tune In, though: “she knew he’d dismiss her in a second if she didn’t stand up to him.”

There’s no account of Cyn standing up to John in Twist. She withstands his behavior, but there’s no evidence of her pushing back, particularly in the early days. She describes herself as “a quaking, nervous wreck on many an occasion—so much so that the thought of going into college the following day would fill me with fear and dread.” I can’t think of any passages in Twist where we see Cyn standing up to John, and John (2005) is similar. In the latter, Cyn does give a couple of anecdotes in which she goes against John’s will (e.g. having Julian baptized), but this is usually done in an “ask forgiveness, not permission” way, rather than directly confronting him.

In fact, this isn’t the first time Lewisohn mentions Cynthia standing up to John. Just a few paragraphs before the above example, he writes this:

Cyn standing up to John is crucial enough that Lewisohn mentions it twice in short order, but that dynamic isn’t present in either of Cynthia’s accounts. Of course, there’s always the possibility of bias—perhaps Cyn portrayed herself as meeker than she was in practice—but if that’s the case, Lewisohn needs to provide a source. He mentions conflicting accounts multiple times throughout Tune In, but there’s no word of that here.

This isn’t the only time Lewisohn writes something contradicted by his cited source, and in some of those cases, I’ve found information supporting Lewisohn’s account in another, uncited source—we’ll get an example of that in the Twist citations. But I don’t think that’s what’s going on here—I think Lewisohn is subtly but purposefully warping the dynamics of John and Cyn’s relationship to make John come off better. He doesn’t go so far as to erase or excuse John’s abuse, but he implies there was more give-and-take in the relationship than was really there.

Twist p.18 vs. Tune In 10-34

There are no factual errors or misquotes here; Lewisohn is instead too faithful to the source material. Cyn describes her first dance with John as “slow and smoochy”; Lewisohn describes it as “slow, smoochy.” Yeah, he changed the “and” into a comma, but this is still plagiarism. “Slow” is a classic dance descriptor, but “smoochy”? Lewisohn is lifting original, distinct verbiage with little change. If this was a one-off thing, I might give him a pass, but he frequently leans heavily on distinctive phrases from his sources. There will be a post.

A one-word quote from Cyn, but Cyn did not say that one word. Without the quotes this would be fine.

Twist p.37 vs. Tune In 13-64

The quote itself (in green) is consistent here, but check out the surrounding sections in pink. Cyn says that the boys’ magic was “so indefinable as to be almost non-existent at times” until they started playing. Lewisohn uses it as a blanket description of the band while playing. Not the most consequential change, I know, but Lewisohn is nevertheless using a quote in a way that directly contradicts the source.

Twist p.42 vs. Tune In 15-32

A few dropped words and one large, unmarked omission in the middle of the quote, but the meaning is retained.

Les Mis Vol 1 Book 1 Ch 4 - Works Corresponding to Words

Bishop is pretty freaking iconic. The imagery and description of the guillotine is what strikes me the most of this chapter as well as the quotes about oppression and the oppressor. The vivid language of the scaffold being something that eats men and consumes that blood of the executed, that it is a being guilty for that murder in conjunction with the executioner. It’s a beautiful bit of personification.

The standout quotes of this chapter to me are:

“The faults of women, of children, of the feeble, the indigent, and the ignorant, are the fault of the husbands, the fathers, the masters, the strong, the rich, and the wise.” It’s a tad reductionist in the context but it makes sense with the message that within binaries, oppression is enforced by the privileged party and the reactions of the oppressed parties attempting to survive within that system don't inherently reflect their true beliefs.

and “The guilty one is not the person who has committed the sin, but the person who has created the shadow." This is the perfect summary of the previous quote and really hits at the heart of les mis

as well as “As he spoke all tongues, he entered into all hearts.” This one is a bit more of a lighthearted one that shows the importance of communication and understanding across cultures. Also inspires me to do my Duolingo

WTNV Quick Rundown - 33 - Cassettes

Oh boy oh jeez this episode I hope you're ready to go through the lore dropped in this one! I'd consider it a fairly important episode, but that's just where it stands in my mind~ The next rundown with be of 'The Debate' live show in more or less conjunction with it's performance date.

Perhaps you noticed something strange yesterday, and perhaps you have forgotten it. Welcome to Night Vale.

The cassette mentioned is labelled 'Cecil Radio Test: Age 15'. He does not remember making the tape. It seems that Cecil has always wanted to be in radio but also the stone tablets at city hall say that he will be a radio host, so it must be so.

The cassette introduces us to the previous radio host before Cecil - Leonard Burton. He had a high-pitched grating voice, apparently. His sign on was 'Greetings from Night Vale' and his sign off was 'See ya, Night Vale, see ya'.

Young Cecil sees a flickering in the corner of his eye when he records himself and it gets worse and causes the tape to warp and static to buzz when he sings.

He also tells us there used to be a 'Sammy's Ultimate Slice-a-ria' which he preferred over Big Rico's, but the place mysteriously burnt down.

This Cecil also mentions having a brother, whilst ours says he does not have a brother. It's here we get a small inclination that this young Cecil, and the Cecil we know, are not the younger and older versions of the same Cecil but instead two distinctive Cecil's whose worlds have overlapped via the cassette and that is why our Cecil does not remember the cassette or its contents.

This brother is not very kind to this young Cecil (also he has hollow eyes and howls), as he says that his brother is not proud of him when he gets an intern job at the radio station. He says his mother simply say 'beware, be warned, be wary' but she says that to everything. Our Cecil (the adult Cecil) does not remember ever even having interned for the station. The flickering has been following this young Cecil and even is able to touch him, whatever it is.

This may be why his mother hid from him for three days (the longest ever, he says) and why she started to cover all the mirrors. Even if they are not the exact same Cecil, we see their lives have a lot of same or similar events/aspects. There is also a gauzy curtain in the living room they never look behind, so there's...that. 'But once I was in the radio station, I knew I had found home. A messy home full of hallways winding away into a labyrinth of audio equipment and tape stacks. Just like home! '

Young!Cecil tells us that the other radio booths in the station are empty and have been for decades, but still broadcast every night (things like insect sounds etc).

As this Cecil confronts the flickering figure, which is causing tape distortion again, he tells us his middle name is Gershwin. He then says his brother is gone, the mirrors are uncovered, the station is like a dark planet lit by no sun, he feels like he's changing as he looks at himself (becoming more grown perhaps) and then something attacks him, causing him to gasp and gurgle followed by the sound of a body heavily hitting the floor. It is at this time that our Cecil in the present time decides to start destroying the tape and checking that the mirrors in the bathroom are covered.

Cecil for some reason had bloody rags and a gem the size of a fist which shows you visions of yourself as an old man staring back at the younger self which is you now, casually sitting in the back of his closet.

Intern Jesús is mentioned. He never returned from investigating the bottomless pit in the intern breakroom.

Strexcorp encourages us to think deeply about meadows, meadows are important.

love reading fanfic bc ppl will say shit that brushes against me slightly wrong and it will take me the fuck out in a moment. an example might be like in a first encounter scene where one part pushes the other against the wall, describes the assailant's “hot breath” as having “a stench of hard liquor but only slightly”. this completely rubs me the wrong way. like, “stench of hard liquor” is very appealing to me as it is a visceral description. “stench” often used when describing decay and it’s conjunctive use with “hot” and “hard liquor” creates this sense of rottenness under the surface, of a fever, of the assailant’s character. “hard liquor” also gives us a sense of the personality of the character, of someone perhaps more quote-unquote masculine in the traditional western literary sense and of power, or someone who sees themself as powerful or wishes to be powerful. it does a very good job in a few words showing us a brief idea of the character. so to undercut this with “but only slightly” diminishes entirely the power of the previous section of the quote to me. while a “stench” can be slight, it doesn’t work within the context of the scene. this is a power struggle. while you can undercut the power of the assailant this way, i think how i’ve written this, where it is tacked on at the end, is an effective or particularly evocative way of doing so. to show a power struggle not only between two characters but also in the character’s assailant would be really good, but it falls flat by not being expanded on enough. by weaving it in more so into the actual text instead of lumping it on, it would create a far more interesting character. one with inner turmoil and, like, the start of an arc and growth as a character. anyway… i’m tired of reading lousy descriptions in fanfic because these say as much about the characters, point-of-view and otherwise, and worlds as much as they say about the author… anyway, i’m reheating soup :]

DELIVERANCE PLUS DETERMINATION PLUS DISCIPLESHIP Throughout my walk with the Lord, I have discovered that, many times, the enemy tries to convince us that we are not as “delivered” as we think we are. In previous chapters, I have talked about how there are times when we say, “I thought I was delivered from that!”

only to find ourselves succumbing to that particular temptation once again. How can we move past this? We need to combine deliverance with determination (a commitment to maintaining our freedom) and discipleship.

As I indicated previously, years ago, I struggled with pornography. I remember telling my youth pastor that I was having a very hard time in this particular area. I even went to a men’s conference and confessed my sin before the entire group of men because I was desperate for freedom. Here I was, born again and Spirit-filled, yet struggling with lust. I was so ashamed.

Unfortunately, many men at that conference were struggling with the same issue, and the only advice I was given was to “take it one day at a time.” I thought to myself, “I don’t want to take it one day at a time; I want to be completely free, right now!” I walked away from that conference very disappointed.

One day, while I was crying out to God for deliverance, I heard the Lord speak to me as clear as day: “Kynan, I already delivered you from this!” I was so perplexed by that statement that I enquired further. He told me, “You are choosing this!” Then, I got the revelation. There was deliverance in my decision. It took some time, but one day, in the middle of a worship service, I told the Lord, “I don’t want this anymore. Take it from me! I choose You!” Instantly, I felt a weight lift off of me. I did not cough or spit up. I simply felt a release. After that, I even tried to go back and watch pornography, but I could not. Hallelujah! As I daily walked out that supernatural encounter, I experienced real and lasting freedom.

I am very thankful for the supernatural grace of God that delivered me from the power of addiction. However, as I expressed earlier, I honor that grace daily by choosing to turn my eyes from evil things.

Please make no mistake: this is only possible by the grace of God, not by human strength or ability. The point is that there is something distinctively divine about making a quality decision to receive all that was provided for us by Jesus on the cross.

Let’s look at this profound statement by Jesus:

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If you continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31–32) Many people quote John 8:32 out of context, neglecting to also quote verse 31. Jesus said explicitly, “If you continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed.” This is an “if-then” statement. It tells us that continuity in the Word of God produces discipleship.

Jesus then said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” These two verses are connected by the Greek conjunction kai, which means that the two ideas were conjoined by the writer of the text.

Truly, maintaining our freedom requires both determination and discipleship. As I wrote earlier in this book, in today’s church, we live in an age of “hyper-grace.” Many well-intentioned preachers are presenting a truncated version of the Scriptures, giving people only part of the truth. As a result, many impressionable Christians equate the message of God’s grace with a form of spiritual laziness that does not require any sacrifice or discipline because, after all, “Jesus paid it all!” While it is very true that Jesus paid it all, we must intentionally and consistently appropriate His finished work in every area of our lives. The apostle Paul puts it this way:

Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12) The Greek word rendered salvation is sōtēria, which literally means “deliverance.” Paul tells the Philippian church to “work out” their deliverance with reverential fear. The words “work out” are translated from a compound Greek word, katergazomai. The prefix kata can signify “throughout,” and the suffix ergazomai can mean “to labor” or “to exercise.” A good analogy to describe the meaning of this word is that of a pastry chef kneading dough. They have to work from the inside out. The dough has everything it needs on the inside, but the pastry chef must “work it out” to see the full manifestation of the dough’s potential.

Many people believe that if they go through the nearest “healing line” or set up an appointment with the best deliverance minister in town, then God will tap them with His magic wand and, voila! they will experience “freedom.” Friends, it does not work that way! Does God deliver people instantly? Absolutely! We have many examples in Scripture where people received a miraculous touch from God.

Sirius Black is emotionally and academically intelligent

To celebrate the start of Scorpio season and in honour of our bestie, I have planned 3 metas about what I think are common misconceptions around his character. And here is number 2.

A common mischaracterisation of him is that he’s not very clever and when at school he needs to copy homework from other people.

1.0 Sirius at school

When recounting Sirius’s school days, several characters mention how clever/brilliant he was. In particular, queen Mcgonagall says:

‘ Precisely,” said Professor McGonagall. “Black and Potter. Ringleaders of their little gang. Both very bright, of course — exceptionally bright, in fact.’ PoA

McGonagall never gives praise lightly and in fact at this moment she thinks Sirius is a mass murderer. Even when she appears to be fond of a student, she’s very realistic about their academic ability and in HBP she says the following to Neville,

‘“But the problem is Transfiguration. I’m sorry, Longbottom, but an Acceptable’ really isn’t good enough to continue to N.E.W.T level. I just don’t think you’d be able to cope with the coursework.” HBP

So calling Sirius and James, ‘exceptionally bright,' is not Hyperbole.

Furthermore, during the fire-call Remus says,

“Look, Harry, what you’ve got to understand is that your father and Sirius were the best in the school at whatever they did — everyone thought they were the height of cool — if they sometimes got a bit carried away . ” OoTP

Yes Remus is a biased source, but it can be strongly inferred that Sirius was indeed a very high-achieving student, even if his behavioural record had much to be desired.

Also quick note- these dorks enjoyed amateur cartography ‘height of cool,’ is a little strong.

2.0 Sirius is arrogant about his intellect

This view of his intellect is also held by Sirius himself and this is demonstrated by several things during Snape’s Worst Memory:

He’s long finished his OWL exam and is just sitting there looking hot.

“Well, I thought that paper was a piece of cake,” he heard Sirius say. “I’ll be surprised if I don’t get Outstanding on it at least.” - homeboy is so confident that he thinks the exam board might make a new grade for him

He doesn’t need to read the transfiguration book, not because he’s barely literature and only cares about his hair, but because,

“I don’t need to look at that rubbish, I know it all.”

Indeed, Sirius is so sure of his own intelligence that he attempts to outsmart Voldemort and James trusts him to do that. I know some of this trust is rooted in their bond as brothers, but James must have had to greatly respect Sirius’s intelligence to risk the lives of his wife and child.

3.0 Sirius Post-Azkaban

Sirius is still very clever, despite having been in prison for 12 years and being in various states of starvation and mental ill health:

In PoA He conjures manacles with another wizard’s wand, despite being 13 years out of practice.

In GoF he immediately recognises that Harry’s scar hurting is a bad sign,

‘ I’m flying north immediately. This news about your scar is the latest in a series of strange rumors that have reached me here. If it hurts again.’ GoF (this quote also ties in with my previous meta about him being a mature guardian).

He remembers how to deal with dragons, despite having probably not opened a book during his 12 years in Azkaban and one year living rough,

‘I was going to suggest a Conjunctivitis Curse, as a dragon’s eyes are its weakest point.’ GoF

He pieces the majority of the plot together, while half-starved in a cave and scrounging newspapers. Indeed, he is frustrated at himself for not being able to fully figure it out:

‘Sirius stared at the cave wall, then made a grimace of frustration.’ GoF

He understands Priori Incantatem immediately,

‘.....The Reverse Spell effect?” said Sirius sharply.’ GoF

In OoTP he studies his hand with interest (which is a nice nod to his curiosity) when he gets bitten by something and immediately fixes it,

‘ Sirius sustained a bad bite from a silver snuffbox; within seconds, his bitten hand had developed an unpleasant crusty covering like a tough brown glove.

“It’s okay,” he said, examining the hand with interest before tapping it lightly with his wand and restoring its skin to normal, “must be Wartcap powder in there.' OoTP

He heals the injury that Kreacher inflicts on Buckbeak

Despite being 13-14 years out of practice, he easily matches with some of the ‘best’ death eaters,

‘Now Sirius and Dolohov were dueling, their wands flashing like swords, sparks flying from their wand tips. ’ OoTP

Dumbledore describes him as,

' A brave, energetic and clever man.’

4.0 Sirius is also emotionally intelligent

Sirius understands emotions and is able to verbalise them. One of the key scenes that demonstrate both his emotional and intellectual intelligence, is the scene in the Shrieking shack where he is describing how he survived Azkaban,

‘ I don’t know how I did it,” he said slowly. “I think the only reason I never lost my mind is that I knew I was innocent. That wasn’t a happy thought, so the dementors couldn’t suck it out of me’

In this quote, he is demonstrating an understanding of the nuances of his emotions. Because yes he is innocent, but it’s not a happy thought because James, Lilly and 12 muggles are dead. So he understands that it’s not a thought that can bring him joy or hope, but a thought that has enough nuance to also not be bad.

' so when it all became . . . too much ... I could transform in my cell . . . become a dog.’

In this quote, he’s showing awareness of his mental limits and he also shows this during OoTP when he withdraws during his more intense periods.

‘ Dementors can’t see, you know. ...” He swallowed. “They feel their way toward people by feeding off their emotions. ... ‘

Here he is showing his intellect and how well he understands how Dementors work. And both types of intelligent merge in the next part of the quote,

‘ They could tell that my feelings were less — less human, less complex when I was a dog.’

He clearly understands the nuance and degrees of feelings and how some feelings are more surface level whereas others have caveats.

During the rest of the series, he shows his emotional intelligence in numerous ways,

By providing Harry the Hogsmeade slip and allowing Harry to feel like a normal child who has a guardian who cares for him.

During GoF, he allows Harry to talk despite having broken into a house and needing to talk to Harry about the task,

‘ I’m — ” For a second, Harry tried to say “fine” — but he couldn’t do it. Before he could stop himself, he was talking more than he’d talked in days. ’ GoF

And to be a good listener, you have to be emotionally intelligent.

3. He sends Harry a muddy pawprint as a good luck gift for the last task as he understands that Harry appreciates knowing that he’s thinking of him.

4.On the dark side of this, he’s able to deliver such cutting insults because he understands people so well. This is demonstrated by IMO is the only time he’s a bad godfather and I will never defend him for this,

‘You’re less like your father than I thought,’ He said finally, a definite coolness in his voice. ‘ The risk would’ve been what made it fun for James.’ OoTP

Here Sirius is demonstrating his understanding of how much Harry’s masculinity is rooted in his idealisation of James, so he goes for it.

In conclusion, Sirius Black is cannonically very emotionally and intellectually intelligent.

Scorpio Rising confession time ♏️☕️

So you are well aware that I’m a Scorpio Rising with Pluto conjunct Rising in the 1st house since I often talk about it. I promised I’ll make more notes on this Rising in the past. Since it’s also one of my greatest exports on this platform😂, I’m back on the topic!

♏️ I just recently read Will Smith’s (Scorpio Moon) quote that I think really resonates with Scorpio Rising (and all Scorpio placements really) and he mentioned: “You worry about how people feel or you win”. And I think this dichotomy is what Scorpio Rising is dealing often on their life path.

♏️ These individuals are rarely fully in a partnership. It’s almost like they are constantly with one foot out. But not because they are being non committal or too independent, but because they are paranoid and anticipating betrayal or troubles. This likely stems not from previous relationship hurts, but from relationship they had with their mother, father or both. Because at the very same time they lost control and give the will to decide to their parent or parent, something really backfired on them and they were left humiliated, ashamed and angry that they didn’t stick to their gut feeling. To illustrate an example: maybe a parent forced to learn how to play the piano, because they thought it’s just a beautiful instrument and they said to Scorpio Rising native that they would be really talented at it. But Scorpio Rising said that they think they would rather stick to drums since they might not be really that good at piano. But they lost and were forced to play the piano. Scorpio Rising might have had a bad piano concert where they were really humiliated or their teacher told them that they should really stick to drums and that they will never be good at piano. So it’s like Scorpio Rising’s worst nightmare was reaffirmed. And they should’ve stayed with their gut feeling.

♏️ Another thing: gut feeling and gut reactions. Scorpio Rising shares this traits with life path 8 people. And they should definitely always listen to it. Even when they don’t know in which direction they are truly going or which project to pick next. Listen to advice of other people, but never allow them to fully make a decision for you, because it often backfires.

♏️ Again, usually Scorpio Rising people were very badly betrayed (or at least what they perceived as betrayal) by their parents in childhood. A lot of false or broken promises, public humiliation, snarky public remarks or mother/father outright told some Scorpio Rising secrets or things that were mentioned privately in the public sphere (or even worst in front of their parents).

♏️ Also, Scorpio Rising might went through being put down or humiliated in front of their own family members (like distant relatives). Here this can be also seen with Scorpio Moon natives. Or even Scorpio IC/Pluto in the 4th house. They experienced some sort of humiliation in front of their own family members, especially in childhood/teenage years.

♏️ Scorpio Rising is the sign most prone to lead a double life. Often due to Gemini over their 8th house. This people really put a divide between their public/professional life persona and private/relationship persona. They are vastly different.

♏️ Scorpio Risings very often have Capricorn/Aquarius in the 3rd house and sometimes Uranus or Neptune in the 3rd house. So these people are loners, have one special friend and A LOT of acquaintances. They might be really well known in school, but still they will be only acquainted with these people and their schoolmates will realize they actually know very little about them.

♏️ There are times where they really spill the tea and overshare and this is when you should listen. Because it’s most likely legit and at that moment they felt just comfortable enough to just say it. It’s actually how you know that they are comfortable, when they are oversharing😂

♏️ They have questioned their sexuality at several points in their life. Again, it’s that Gemini over the 8th house.

♏️ A lot of them are perceived as great artists, but honestly they are more “brainy”. All the Scorpio Risings I know are nerdy as hell and they usually develop these niche interests, like they know all about cacti or tropical birds.

♏️ They are really progressive and forward thinking again that Capricorn or Aquarius over the 3rd house. They might promote space, astronomy, astrology, electric cars. They have really mature way of communicating and the public or online/internet community might really seem them as wiser and older than they seem when they start speaking.

♏️ They are really obsessed with ideas of god, woman, royals. Also there’s this thing with church. Either they forcefully grew up Catholic or some other religion, but very often they rebel against it in their adult years. However, they still stick of some sort of moral code they established for themselves.

♏️ All of them at some point went to private/top school. However, they received a lot of pain from their professors, teachers, mentors, schoolmates. For a lot of them this continued well into higher education.

♏️ I noticed when they are content and happy in the moment at a given point in life, they really like eating fast food or candy/chocolate. However, when they feel down, they most likely become health nuts and control every single food item they put in their body. That’s also likely because they get paranoid about the state of their (mental and physical) health at random times. However, most of the time they don’t understand it, because it’s hidden from them (Gemini over the 8th house, even if they have Scorpio over the 12th house).

♏️ They really dislike their nose for some strange reason.😂 Even if it’s normal, average looking, they are self conscious about it.

♏️ It’s very important with whom they surround themselves with, because they tend to pick up their friends’ habits (Gemini over the 8th house).

♏️ They come to sudden realizations about themselves when talking to their siblings, friends, people on the phone, people on the internet/social media. They constantly need other people to be in check with themselves to mirror back to them who they are.

♏️ Scorpio Rising or Pluto in the 1st house likely had someone Scorpionic in the family. Often quite literally it could mean that they grew up around addictions. Also, the mother or the father could have been Scorpio Sun or Moon/Mars or had Sun Pluto aspect in their own natal chart.

♏️ One of their early teachers probably forced them to try certain foods they definitely knew they don’t like (Sagittarius over the 2nd house). Or their stomach gets easily upset with “unknown foods”, so those food items that are not their staple diet. That’s why you also see them eat some very weird combinations, like plain pasta with just tomato sauce or only cornflakes with no milk.

♏️ They are all obsessed with carbs. They could easily eat only fries, bread or pasta for the rest of their lives. 😂🍝🍟 Very often they struggle with eating vegetables or fruits.

♏️ They most often have larger online presence or following than the number of real life friends. They also like to read books or study online/on their computer/phone. They might be fans of internet communities, forums, blogs and read those threads. It’s that Capricorn (sometimes Uranus) over the 3rd house.

♏️ They either get really intimidated by Scorpio Suns or immediately start an artistic project with them. The last bit is more for Scorpio Risings who also have Scorpio over their 12th house.

♏️ They have really good reflexes, yet can be like an elephant in a china shop, really clumsy or awkward in mannerisms.

♏️ Ohhh, did I mention they have really specific and distinctive laughs?

♏️ A lot of them really like sleeping and going to bed early. Must be that Libra over the 12th house. They are also prone to oversleeping when their have troubles in relationship with their partner. Also, in love with movies from past decades, old/vintage movies from the 60s, 70s, 80s.

♏️ So they have amazing musical ear and taste! They like listening to underground and little known artists, HOWEVER. Often times they still want to be relevant/up to date and relatable so they probably like that one popular Taylor Swift song or popular movies such as Harry Potter. Although, they usually have more specific taste and they shy away from mainstream artists.

Astro Observations II

Time to Spill the tea ya'll! If you want more tea, read my first astrology observations here.

💃🏻Venus Opposite/Conjunct/Square Pluto: This one is a doozy y'all! it's very similar to a Hades/Persephone relationship. Traditionally it is thought that Pluto being Hades is the chaser but I honestly think they both chase each other. It's a little like two koi fish in a pond, they are just circling around each other. One runs, the other chases and vice versa. I do think this type of relationship is toxic at times and loving in other ways. Because Pluto is ruled by Scorpio, it often goes through transformations so expect both members to change through this relationship. Very karmic, perhaps you had previous lives together before. I do think if you meet someone who has this placement with you...you can try to run but I think karma will force you to learn life lessons with them anyway.

Also people who natally have Venus in hard aspects with Pluto often find themselves in relationships with Venus in hard aspects with Pluto in synastry. I have seen this time and time again. I think it's karmic to try and figure out your personal issues and stop obsessing and being co dependent with others. If you have this aspect natally, my advice is to work on yourself or you might find yourself repeating relationships. One of my favorite quotes is by Albert Einstein: "the definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

💐Capricorn Risings vs. Aquarius Risings: Both of them are traditionally ruled by Saturn. I find that both can be very saturnian in nature but express it in different ways. They are both serious people who work hard on studying, their careers etc. Aquarius Risings come off as more individualistic than Cap risings. They value individuality a little bit more and can be a little more unpredictable than Cap Risings.

✨Capricorn Stellium in the 5th house: In my observations, I feel like people who have a Capricorn stellium in the 5th equally value hard work and play. They are the type of people who works hard while at their job but will also play hard on the weekends (going on vacations, hikes etc.) that Leo influence of the 5th house really makes them less serious than other Capricorn stelliums.

✰North Node Conjunct MC: In my opinion, I feel like people with North node conjunct MC are destined to do whatever their career path was. Not that their career, job path, or making $ is their only goal of this life but that in doing so they learn whatever karmic lessons they were supposed to.

☾Moon in the partner's 12th house: This placement is not easy in synastry at all! For starters the house person does not understand the moon person and always thinks the moon is hiding something. The moon person may or may not be consciously hiding their feelings but either way the house person can't see the moon person's emotions clearly. Both can be hurt by this and misunderstandings may often arise over it.

Planets in the 8th and 12th house: I've noticed that people who have prominent planets in these two houses tend to like listening to angsty, melancholic music. They don't even need to be sad or depressed either, they just like that type of music.
