When he was 16, Gojo Satoru thought that protecting other people was a pain, and didn't take it seriously.

Later, when he realized that even non-sorcerers deserve to live their lives in peace, he dedicated himself to becoming stronger so that he would be capable to protect them more. However, even then, he didn't perceive their worth as significant.

But when you entered the picture, that measly, glorified word suddenly became so much more.

Usually people would only care about whether he had succeeded his mission or not. His formidable reputation as the epitome of strength means no one is genuinely interested in his wellbeing—no one after Suguru, to be exact—until you did.

After a whirlwind romance of attraction and banters, Satoru reached the conclusion that he wanted you, the only person left who actually made him feel like a human, to stay happy and safe. He would do it with his own hands, even if it meant reshaping this cruel world to be kinder for you with him as your shield.

And the word “protect” gained an entirely new meaning years later, when he rested his head on your swollen belly—the place where his new cherished treasure was growing.

“When will he come out~?” he asked in a whiny tone and a blissful smile, even though he clearly knew the answer.

You shook your head with playful resignation, unable to conceal your smile. "In three weeks. Now help me get comfortable, you dork."

He helped you turn over and fetched a pillow to place under your aching spine. Then, with a mischievous grin, he lightly poked your belly with two fingers, eliciting a yelp from you.

"Don't poke me! You're poking your child!"

To that, Satoru merely threw his head back and snickered like the dumbass he was. He then tenderly rested his hand on the taut skin of your belly, gently massaging it, smiling with ardent happiness.

"Can't really believe it," he sighed, brimming with the purest sense of contentment. "A mini Gojo, huh... You're really doing a honorable work."

A child of his and yours. He had always wondered how he would be after seeing him firsthand—would he laugh just like he had been doing now, or will it be the first instance that move him to the point of shedding tears? One of the reasons he eagerly anticipated his son's birth was just to discover how he would react.

Seeing the weight of his baby growing within you, making you rounder and fuller, stirred a deep well of warm emotions in him with each passing day though.

"I am," you retorted cheekily, rolling your eyes. "In fact, you should be revering and worshipping me for carrying your spawn."

He merely hummed in a childlike manner, feeling his baby move around under his touch. You were about to roast him again with something funny when he leaned down and planted a kiss on your tummy, whispering to it.

"Please come out already~ Papa wants to meet you!"

Your heart swelled with warmth at that moment. Gojo Satoru was many things, but he wasn't typically known for his softness—he was often seen as this all-perfect being, and so witnessing him acting purely on his human emotions brought you a sense of happiness.

“Who do you think he’ll take after?” you mused.

“Hmmm. Me, obviously. He'll be hot just like me!” he quipped proudly, and you playfully smacked him on the arm.

Satoru caught your hand and kissed it tenderly amidst his grin. "But I want him to have your personality. I'd hate to see him be a show-off."

"So you do realize that you're actually a menace."

He laughed out loud, patting the generous swell of your belly again with a smug look on his face.

"I know, but I'm your menace, and that's all that matters."

And when his adorable son was born less than three weeks later and you passed out due to sheer exhaustion, Satoru vowed by everything in the heavens and the earth that he wouldn't spare anything to protect you and his child from this curse-filled world.

Epilogue - on the night of the birth -

“Satoru—” you panted, grimacing, head jerking back as your womb throbbed and pulsed in order to bring forth your child into the world. “I… feel like I’m going to faint…”

Worry etched his face as you leaned on him. “Hey, hey… Calm down sweetheart, relax and catch up on your breath, okay? Don’t worry, he’ll come out soon.”

Somehow his words rubbed you the wrong way.

“Hahh—this… is because of you! This happened because you shoved your stick into me! You horny bas—aahh!”

“Well, hey! Last I remembered, you begged me to put it into you! And I'm not—pfft—”

“Then what are you?!”

“Hmmm, nothing but a man who got you pregnant, sweetheart~”

“If I bleed out and die, it’s going to be your fault, you evil, wretched sorcerer!”

I don't remember the context, but it's quite heartbreaking that Merlin makes it into a joke, knowing fully well there's the possibility of Arthur dying.

Oh yay! A Merthur question! I've referred to it in the past but I haven't spoken it about it specifically. From a previous post:

I love this moment so much because Arthur is doing his best to be stoic, to show as little concern as possible because as he said in season 2:

but for one second when he clenches his jaw and sort of inhales, he’s about to break, his emotion is about to overwhelm him and he’s trying to hold it together but Merlin keeps asking to stay by his side, to just be with him and it’s making it hard for him to concentrate on being emotionless so he just ends up bickering with Merlin because he’s worried and upset and scared and can’t Merlin just do what he’s told and get better??

Um, the context is actually pretty loaded because this is the episode Merlin finds Balinor, and obviously Arthur doesn't know that Balinor is Merlin's father just that he's the [apparent] last dragonlord that will help them but Balinor dies so Merlin's going through the emotional rollercoaster of having met his dad for the first time and then losing him pretty immediately afterwards

with Arthur being there for the whole thing but without knowing what's actually happening. He's focused on the fate of Camelot and so he thinks his only chance of saving his kingdom is gone

so when we get to the scene, Arthur thinks he's going on kind of a fool's errand riding out to meet Kilgharrah

and he's actually trying to prepare Merlin for the event of his death

like you see him think about how Merlin would react to him dying

and he's asking him not to be sad, don't grieve for me, don't cry for me because he doesn't like the thought of Merlin in pain especially in pain over him and it's this very patient, protective, he's-a-gentle-soul kind of conclusion and reasoning

and it's not that he wants him to be hardened, he wants him to understand that these things happen and he just wants him to be OK and he communicates that by saying that he tells young knights to move on

and when Merlin makes that crack, it's sweet because it really just speaks to the intimacy of the moment

that he tries to deflect by cracking a joke like 'haha, you don't even mean that much to me, bro!'

"Anyway, let's go fight a dragon together because I'm never leaving your side!"

which actually begets another vulnerable moment

that Arthur kind of backs away from because WHOA that's some direct intimacy there, bro

[after quietly reveling in awe of how brave he finds Merlin just seconds before]

so, another joke because HAHA WE'RE JUST TWO BROS WHO ARE INTENSELY DEVOTED TO EACH OTHER

Mickey was screwed

The first time you do it is always a bit awkward specially if you're doing it with someone who wanted to beat you up hours ago.

Their first time wasn't the exception, it was also fast and angry. Ian was angry with Mickey for taking the gun from Kash and Mickey was angry with himself for letting the heterosexual facade fall. Plus they couldn't take their sweet time because Terry was napping in the living room.

Ian tried to put his face in Mickey's neck which earned him a smack on the head, and the same thing happened when he tried to hold Mickeys hand. They opted to not face each other which was far less intimate, something that Ian hated.

The second time was really uncomfortable because they were in a freezer. The cold didn't bother them that much (both of them at some point have had to shower with cold water) but doing it while you're standing up can get a little bit exhausting. This time Ian didn't get his head smacked when he placed his hand over Mick's, but touching his chest was a big no.

The saying goes third time's a charm and their third time was perfect. They wanted to go somewhere where you could get a little more privacy, so the abandoned building Mickey hanged out by himself when he needed time to think and de-stress was perfect. The coats were no blanket but it was puffy enough to lay on them.

It was getting cold but the heat of their bodies made it feel like summer. This time they did hold hands (for a brief minute) and Ian could touch him wherever he pleased. He would dare to think that Mickey was starting to like him.

What Ian didn't know was that Mickey craved his touch more than oxygen, he wanted to be caressed by Ian, hold his hand and even tenderly kiss him, but he would never admit it. Because that would change everything, it would be more than a hook up and the word relationship scared Mick (more than Terry).

After they finished he told Ian to go, to avoid being seen with him, but the truth was he needed some time to think. And the conclusion was that he was fucked, because he was falling in love with the freckled dork. He would do anything to stop feeling warm every time Ian looked at him, to stop feeling butterflies every time he touched his hand, and to stop the need to kiss him every time their faces got too close.

Mickey was screwed.

riki was currently trying to give you what he calls a “big loving kiss,” which you would gladly accept, but since nothing with riki is simple, he has to heart gallons on his eyes.

sadly he has more stamina than you so him catching you was inevitable. you finally stop in your tracks and your boyfriend bumps into you and traps you in his arms. you turn around in his grasp, holding your arms into your chest to keep the distance between you and him.

he leans in and grabs your head to make sure you don't move and kisses you harshly mostly to annoy you. you put your hands on his face to try to push him away but he won't budge.

he finally pulls away from the kiss and looks into your eyes. you give him a look of disapproval, but his attention is quickly pulled away from you to the balloons taped to the dorm walls for decoration that jungwon put up, saying it was "festive".

he brings two balloons up to his face and sticks them on, then says to you, still stuck in his arms,

'arent my eyes pretty?'

he asks, heart balloons taped onto his eyes. your still confused how he got you, cause you should have had a strong advantage over him considering he couldn't see.

'no not at all, dork'

'YOURE SO MEAN'

his head turn in dismay, hitting you in the face with his balloon eyes in the process. you roll your eyes and bring up your hands to his face, holding his cheeks to bring his face towards you again. you carefully take the balloons off his eyes.

'there we go that's better'

you smile and look back up at your boyfriend after dropping the balloons to the floor. he, still looking at you with a smirk, then leans down again to connect his lips with yours. you pull away and peck his lips quickly before grinning along with him.

God I have so fucking many thoughts I'm going little insane about it and I'm literally so happy you asked because. I have been w a i t i n g HAHA

Your prompts:

We have all heard That Line™; I'd imagine that having both been so pent up, they would immediately jump each other's bones given the opportunity — Shadowheart is absolutely unsubtle and Karlach is Karlach

I actually think it would be one sided for a while!! But not in the piney way. I think Shadowheart attempts to rizz the shit out of Karlach only to fail because Karlach's situation with her engine essentially made her exceptionally good at Resisting Temptation (I find it absolutely hilarious that most of Karlach's in-game responses are so purposefully obtuse when it comes to her)

That in particular pisses Shadowheart off since she would be so used to being able to finesse her way through things like this (because of her background as a professional 'spy' — because otherwise...she's an absolute dork); it makes her try extra hard and eventually come to the conclusion that her attraction is greater when in fact Karlach has had more experience living like a Nun™ than she does

As for the development...I think they would be on similar levels of attraction, but tackle it differently — Karlach would immediately embrace the feeling and Shadowheart will try her fucking hardest to rationalize it away/deny it (queen of repression)

They would probably be fast friends (Shadowheart rizzing Karlach), then actual friends (because Karlach is so earnest Shadowheart feels like she can be earnest too), physically involved, then romantically involved — it only outwardly seems fast, but they definitely have things to work through before they can actually really be honest and feel that they can rely on each other completely

Random headcanon/general thoughts that have going FERAL IN THE CLUB:

I think they work really well together — they balance each other out in the sense that they have very different ways of handling their own stresses and trauma; they have a lot of opportunities to grow even just by being around one another (for example, Shadowheart is so Repressed™ even other characters feel the same way — and Karlach is the opposite); restraint and freedom go hand in hand 😌

They both have a love for adorable things...once the all of the shit with Karlach's heart gets sorted and they FINALLY get to live that cottagecore life, I think their farm would have so many more animals. Like. So many...Karlach would honestly just be so excited to be able to care for things again — and Shadowheart would be excited because she's finally allowed to be just as loud about showing that she DOES care

The idea that Shadowheart's hair could be a signifier for how closed off she is — so throughout the acts, she slowly lets it down/get messier figuratively and literally in front of everyone...AND KARLACH gets permission to touch and braid it as a sign of true trust and vulnerability; it becomes something of a ritual (Karlach is obsessed simply for the fact that she isn't seen as dangerous and is trusted to be able to be gentle about things) (thanks @kanobies for giving me that sweet, sweet psychic damage)

To add to that: they like physically pampering each other — Karlach finally internalizing that she can be 'pretty' and deserving of gentle care and Shadowheart internalizing that she is allowed to want/ask for things that aren't strictly necessary or used towards a greater cause (I don't think she's ever had a strong sense of bodily autonomy in the sense that she was gaslit into thinking every aspect of her life was for Lady Shar)

I'M OBSESSED WITH THE FACT THAT THEY RADIATE DOG ENERGY IN VASTLY DIFFERENT WAYS: thank you Isobel for immediately clocking Shadowheart on sight by calling her a feisty little terrier and for Karlach being literally Clifford the Big Red Dog and

The difference in lifespans...FUCK. KARLACH WOULD TRY SO HARD TO MAKE THEIR TIME TOGETHER WORTH IT/MEMORABLE since she knows her life is comparatively short; Shadowheart would never take it for granted; they make each other keepsakes...🫠🥹🥹

And I still have so much more but I gotta seem like I'm at least somewhat classy (pls...if anyone wants to talk about any of them or both of them I am so mcfucking ready)

So! Little (probably not) post abt my thoughts on this :3c

I don’t think either of them would be too worried about that, least of all jack rip. Maybe he wonders what he would’ve looked like if he’d actually gotten the chance to grow older. It really depends on the au i guess

Although the otnwas-infested part of my brain wants to say it’s hiccup, i’m more inclined to say jack 😭 though that also depends slightly on the au, bc if jack’s a spirit he wouldn’t actually get cold. Then again, he seems like the kind of person who would hog a blanket even if he didn’t need it.

i loved it! emily and i texted each other and we’re like “that’s an awesome moment! did you see them flying next to each other?” […] it was awesome, emily and i have such a good time together. we’re both such dorks, you put us in a room with nothing on the walls and nothing to entertain ourselves and we will have written an entire musical by the time you come back.

when asked about shipping, she said

i love the shipping, it’s hysterical! they’re shipping bo and the armorer, they’re shipping bo and din […] they would have to be post coital as close to the living waters as possible, just to roll back in and get redeemed all over. (she laughed a lot talking about it she’s so silly)

the interviewer mentioned the trauma bo has gone though, seeing viszla executed by maul and satine’s death

i think that emotional complexity of that character, those losses, absolutely plays into who she is now. those things are definitely things that i thought of - specially this season - the entire time that we were filming. the loss of satine is such a huge part of her life, part of her trajectory. i think the moment she lost her sister, it changed her direction for forever. […] i wish that we could talk about satine!

in conclusion: we need katee sackhoff to direct a bo-katan solo series. i didn’t transcript the most exciting parts because i want to encourage you to watch the whole thing, katee knows bo so well and said she wants to come back and explore more of her character.

I’m watching TMNT 2012 for the first time and I have come to the conclusion that the are ADORABLE. ESPECIALLY Mikey. I know they are highly trained warriors, but I just wanna SQUISH them. This is a surprise to me; I started with 2003 (forever and always my favourite) and I have seen Rise (which I love) but I have never had this reaction before. The 2012 boys honestly look so BABY to me. I think Mikey pushes it over the edge - he may not be my favourite Mikey, but he is the cutest.

each of the 2012 boys have a serious case of baby face which i think is why they seem so squishable :3 they’re also just so squishy looking

tmnt as a whole is about “brothers sticking together no matter what” but 2012 really drives home the point of found family. especially with splinter’s storyline where he’s already lost one family and then gains his sons, these boys CHERISH each other, even if they don’t outwardly show it all of the time, they’re each others best friends. they’re fifteen and they’re BABIES and they carry so much of the weight of the world on their shoulders and it’s so heartbreaking but they’re also such big dorks and they’re unapologetically goofy and they’re horrendously socially awkward but they love each other a lot and that’s all that matters

yeah mikey has forever been dubbed the “youngest” but he’s so baby brother coded in this show. i’m so glad rise carried that through because i feel like that’s such a big appeal of the show if you’re like me and have mikey as your favourite character (is it obvious that he’s my favourite lol)

and now I’M emotional about the 2012 show. damn ;__;

Becky Marney x Felicity Graves (Gravey)

1. Basically from the moment they meet they're ride or die for each other. When a life or death situation comes up, the first person Becky can call isn't her work partner, but Felicity. Felicity risks everything just to try and prove that Becky is innocent in this case. No matter what, Felicity never stops believing that Becky is innocent. Ultimately, it's their trust ans faith in each other that leads to the best ending.

They're basically canon! Always very friendly to each other, with a few suggestive scenes and dialogue that can be easily interpreted as flirty. They deserve more love :)

2. They are unique in that they have a young love vibe in a cynical and bleak setting. By this I mean that they are both established career women in very difficult fields where they see horrific things every day in their lines of work, they had every reason to be cynical and numb to the world, they could have been distrustful or hostile given where they originally stand on the case that kicks off the plot but none of those things are so, all their life experience should prevent their bond forming as it did and still they have that optimism that is usually reserved for teen relationships and first loves and on top of all of that it doesn't clash with the other elements of character and plot and was entirely believable. In conclusion Gravey is choosing to believe in childlike wonder in the midst of darkness

Ryan Erzahler x Dylan Lenivy (Rylan)

1. They’re both dorks and very much deserve each other in the best way

Caught up with Cooking Crush and friends, I'm so charmed. Biggest shoutout to @lurkingshan for making me pick up this one for live watch. The characters are adorable, the romance is so sweet and most importantly, the show is actually, ridiculously hilarious.

Ten is the cutest dork. Off is so surprisingly good at physical humor.

Look at those dork glasses he pulled out to stitch up a glove. I love him, your honor.

I love that the other characters in the friend groups have distinct dynamics away from Prem and Ten, and it feels organic. It's clear that they have fun hanging out with each other, and so we do too.

Neoooooooooo. Oh my god, I'm so happy to see him in this show! The storyline with his helicopter mom is hilarious for now, but I suspect we will also get to see some confrontation there in the future (hopefully? for me? pretty please? @waitmyturtles look at this juicy piece of carrot I'm dangling in front of you)

Dynamite is so relentless in his pursuit of Fire, and I am fully on board. Neo deserves to be chased like the catch that he is.

In conclusion. This show is fun, the characters are having fun, the actors were clearly having fun because it really shows in their chemistry with each other, Shan and I having fun constantly swooning over Ten and his glasses. So I hereby declare Cooking Crush the perfect Sunday show!

I'd have given anything to see Logan and Quinn being nerds together. I mean I recall he was really good at chemistry and it would have been so cool if these two had exchanged homeworks to check on each other and then proceeded to correct each other if an exercise was wrong or to discuss the different methods they used to reach the same conclusion in the math problem. Meanwhile, their friends would look so lost trying to follow what they're saying, but both Logan and Quinn would be enjoying the discussion.

I would have loved to see that too! I really wish we got at least one more season! It would have been so great to not only see their friend’s reactions to them dating but just seeing them go on regular dates after that.

Logan would definitely show off his chemistry smarts to impress her. I can see Quinn says “name this chemical reaction and I’ll kiss you” or Quinn praising him for the high passing grade he’s get in science class and he would be so proud of himself. They would be suck dorks in love and I wish we could’ve seen it.

The Venture Bros. #46: "The Revenge Society" | November 16, 2009 - 12:00AM | S04E05

Look, I love and respect The Venture Bros. Please know that I’m coming from a place of love when I say that this episode has that season three stank on it.

Generally speaking, I feel like the show has ebbs and flows, vacillating somewhat between episodes where the humor and standalone adventure is emphasized and episodes that feel like an exercise in world-building and character lore. I enjoy piecing together the somewhat complicated story and character histories and stuff like that, because I love this show. But the reason I love this show is for standalone adventures and humor.

This one focuses on Phantom Limb’s reemergence as the head of the Revenge Society, which we find out is comprised of a lady’s shoe (Dr. Mrs. The Monarch’s shoe, I think), a Mug with the word WISDOM on it, and a toaster. Phantom Limb has lost his mind, and treats these all like they’re real guys. One of my favorite jokes of the episode includes the use of the oriental riff, used when Phantom Limb introduces his mug Wisdom. Guy’s gone so crazy that he’s assigned a race to a dang cup.

This one features a lotta people explaining things to each other. We find out what two of the Council of 13 look like, for instance. We also find out that they are elderly Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper (now known as the Red Mantle and Dragoon, respectively), and they were coaxed away from the airplane that would have killed them by Phantom Limb’s grandfather Phantomas. The fact that these supervillains began life as kidnapped musicians is the explanation for why David Bowie is the Sovereign. Phantom Limb kidnaps Billy Quizboy and has him surgically place Dragoon’s head onto the Red Mantle’s body after attacking them so severely that such a drastic act is their only hope for surviving. They become another Jackson and Doc comedy duo.

Eventually, the Guild of Calamitous Intent show up to the Venture compound while Hatred, Hank, Doc, and Dean all sorta spit off into pairs and stall for time. This makes the episode feel a little listless, like those boring-ass sequences in the Two Towers movie where Hobbits are goofing off with those walking trees. I don’t mind scenes where nothing really happens and characters just chit-chat, as long as it’s funny. I don’t find these scenes to be particularly strong.

Okay, so Phantom Limb is trying to get the Orb (from before). Billy Quizboy knows where it is, which is why the Guild show up to the Ventures door. At some point, the Ventures confront the guild. Dean is paraded as the heir to the Orb or maybe the guild? I guess because Rusty’s grandfather was the protector of the Orb? I don’t know if I really “get” this part at all, but it’s all leading to the conclusion of the orb saga.

Dean knights the current Soverign as the heir to the Orb (I think?) and Phantom Limb tries to get it, only to find out that it’s broken. We then cut to the same flashback from season three, which shows Sandow seemingly strangle Rusty’s father’s father. The scene continues to reveal that Sandow simply broke the orb, and left the elder Ventures’ skull in tact. Apparently this reveal was planned all along, which is why they make the skull-smashing/neck-breaking sound a little metallic-sounding in season three.

The final scene also features a Brian Eno stand-in called Eon. I didn’t know who this was, honestly, and had to look it up. I know who Brian Eno is, I just mean I don’t think I remembered at all what that dude looked like. Is that the real Brian Eno doing the voice? Seriously, no source that would list such a thing lists an actor for him, nor do they point out that he’s voiced by “(unknown)”. I also don’t see anyone asking who the voice is. Am I dumb?

Other stuff ahead: the dilapidated mansion that Phantom Limb brings Billy, Red Mantle, and Dragoon to comes back later, so keep your peepers peeled if you are a huge dork who likes remembering stuff from cartoons.

More other stuff: this episode pays off Hatred’s fixation on Billy, who is a child-sized but oh-so-legal little man. Billy is knocked unconscious and eventually finds himself in Hatred’s bed. The commentary, the book, and eventually dialogue from a later episode all insist that Hatred didn’t rape Billy; Hatred just cuddled him while he recovered.

And finally, the joke at the end, where Red Mantle tries to jam in a two-headed-related quip to no effect is real funny. I like that joke. See? I told you I love and respect this show.
