so basically Arthur came back and Leon and Merlin are immortal. I do remember that Leon told Arthur Airplanes are death traps on air or something of the sort and when Merlin said he is going to get on one Arthur freaked out.😭

Ok so the idea is he was originally supposed to be sacrificed to Isla, aka The Crone, aka the old part of the Triple Goddess, aka the goddess of the moon - death - winter - destruction - fate - and beauty (in my AU). He was born at least 100 years before Uther’s reign. Anyways, Isla was out of town that day (or some other excuse), but Panya, aka The Mother, aka the middle aged part of the Triple Goddess, aka the goddess of the earth - harvest - spring - birth - and luck (in my au). Panya takes pity on Leon and allows him refuge. After a while they fall in love. Panya brings him before Isla and Kaya, aka The Maiden, aka the youngest part of the Triple Goddess, aka the goddess of the sun - summer - fall - love - marriage - virginity - and acceptance although they each are technically separate entities, they once were one - The Triple Goddess - and so together after making him go through tests, the Goddess grants Leon immortality. Leon and Panya wed, and as the years go by Leon becomes a knight. insert excuse as to why no one knows he’s immortal here. My idea for how this would be revealed is that after winning Camlan (yes im delulu), Arthur decides it’s time to make peace with the druids. To do so, a representative from the major Druid encampments comes to the treaty talk and Panya is there as well. At some point it is revealed that she and Leon are married and everyone is just like “whaaaaaat?” And that’s when Leon reveals his immortality.

The whole plot follows the love/hate relationship of Balinor & Uther, the immediate friendship of Ygraine & Balinor, the mutual hatred between Hunith & Uther and the suprise love of Ygraine & Uther. Some quest's and adventures on the side like the original series. Angst, fluff, banter, all that good stuff.

Over the Year

On new years eve Arthur comes back, to the suprise of Merlin and Leon (Immortal Leon for the win❗). Over the course of 2023 the knights come back, in their own "very them" ways, learn about the new world and learn to live in peace.

I just want the knights to come back and live a normal peaceful life!!! Also Merthur, but it's a side-plot. Because I love some found-family and platonic love.

New Old

S5!Merlin time travels to the past and try's to make this reality better (I can and will ignore the possible danger of it and I know you will to), while S1!Merlin gets a new mentor (can I call S5!Merlin a mentor?) and S1!Arthur gets gay panic every five minutes.

Merthur, reveal done early, Arthur accepting magic on his own pace, Morgana and Mordred getting the support they need, what else could you want :D !!!

Based on the ep where we find Mordred, but instead of Mordred going into hiding he finds Merlin first, who pretends to be his brother. Mordred grows up in Camelot and never turns evil (and so doesn't Morgana), Merlin and Morgana become like older siblings to him, Arthur gets jealous, because they look like a family.

Reincarnated!Arthur and Reincarnated!Merlin have dreams of their past life, but they see different parts of it. By that I mean, in life Arthur saw Merlin as a lovable idiot, so now Merlin will dream of the more light-hearted moments, while Merlin saw Arthur as strong, funny, confident and generous and now Arthur will dream of the Merlin that past Arthur never got to see, at least not that much. And they both make art of it. Arthur paints beautiful paintings of his dreams that are all about Merlin and show how amazing he is. Merlin makes music with his band (he plays the violin and piano) about the funny, confident, kind, sarcastic dumbass that he dreams of and fell for.

Merlin wanted to laugh at the rain as it fell; Irony if so—and if not—perhaps just his luck. The coat was heavy on his shoulders as he stood on the familiar cobblestone steps. An unfamiliar crack in the second step that he couldn't remember if it was there the last time or not.

Though, all he could remember was the ‘Then Go' from Leon and nothing else.

He shook his head, he'd been waiting outside his door too long. He knocked first, grabbed the key from his pocket and opened the door.

He discarded his jacket once inside and relished in the familiar comfort. It was warm, the hum of the Television played on low volume, while the smell of coffee was inescapable.

“Did you just knock?

Merlin followed the voice through to the kitchen. Leon was serving coffee in two mugs as Merlin leaned his weight against the doorway.

Leon looked at him, furrowed his eyebrows. “Merlin?”

He could lie, but it'd haunt him for the rest of his life. He tried to smile but failed. “I just came from the seventh century.”

Leon stopped, then continued preparing the coffees.

“Leon—”

“Don't.” He gestured to the kitchen island and Merlin took a seat.

Leon took a breath, then started. “It's been twenty-two years. I've met you more than a dozen times since and every version of you hadn't yet gotten to that point.”

Merlin kept his mouth shut.

“I know that you went back and that you thought you could do it all over again, but you couldn't. None of it really mattered, because it all was about saving one person.” He stopped. “Except he dies too.

Merlin pressed his eyes and swallowed.

“Once wasn't enough for you,” Leon continued. Twice seemed to barely feed that insanity. So you did it again, and again, and another time after that. And—to quote your words. No matter what you do, he always dies in your arms.”

“Stop—” His voice cracked.

“You give up and go back to past me. Then for three years you were…” He shook his head. “Empty… broken. Then one day you disappear. Jump a couple centuries and you're at my doorstep again.”

He dumped sugar in one mug, tapping the spoon on the side before laying it down. “How long has it been for you? Fifty? Sixty years?”

Merlin bit his lip as it trembled. “I lost count…” he said weakly, hiding behind a just as weak smile.

Leon rounded the counter and put the cup in front of Merlin. He wrapped an arm around Merlin as his tears began to fall.

Merlin leaned in. “I'm sorry. I'm—”

“I couldn't have stopped you, not really.” He couldn't play Fate any more than Merlin could.

“I can't,” Merlin continued.

“Then stay,” he said. “You’ve never stayed in one place very long,” he continued. “Call it a sabbatical.

He let out a weak laugh. “A sabbatical?”

He smiled, hummed, and gave Merlin's arm a squeeze. “The world can wait.”

Because I’m obviously insane, I’ve been creating a storyline in my head where immortal!Leon is married to the goddess of fertility and life. I don’t even remember how I got to the idea, but the storyline I’m working with currently is that the goddess, who I have named Panya, came with a group of druids to discuss peace talks with Camelot, and through out the rest of the knights are all like “why is this goddess so interested in Leon?” And Leon just has to deal with his wife being flirty on main. Also I think I decided that since he drank from the cup of life they now have a telepathic communication, which is strongest when he’s asleep, so even when she’s far away they can talk in his dreams. Also they probs eloped. I dont know if I want him to have been married to her for like 100 years already, or if they’re still newlyweds but if I ever do write it I guess we’ll see.
