Imagine if star wars took Anakin’s chosen one-ness to the next level and instead of being born without a father he just kinda. Manifests. in the temple.
Like the Jedi are just hanging out in the gardens and suddenly there’s a bright flash and some collage-age kid in Jedi robes appears and is like ‘uh yeh I’m here to destroy the Dark and bring balance to the galaxy? If someone could just point me to the Sith Lord’
They have to tell him they have no idea where the Sith Lord is but they do know he’s at the centre of this new war and Anakin just goes ‘oh ok I guess I’ll help you with that until then’ and he becomes one of the top generals pretty much on accident bc he knows he’s here to kill the Sith and end the war but he knows literally nothing else. The clones approach him to tell him that they made up names that they’d like used instead of CT numbers and he’s like ‘what’s a name’
OR you could have him show up as some small, eldritch being with glowing eyes and an echoing voice that’s just vaguely a human youngling. He speaks in full, clear sentences using words he should not understand at that age, can look straight into someone’s soul and just generally knows things he shouldn’t.
He tells the Jedi who he is and why he is here and tells them to show him to the source of the Dark and obviously the Council is like ‘we are not sending a literal child to kill a Sith Lord’ but he’s technically young enough to be inducted into the crèche and obviously he’s some sort of sign from the Force so there he’s sent.
At first, the Chosen One is dismayed that every time he leaves the room full of toddlers to go and destroy darkness, he is promptly brought back and put in the corner. He is confused why the others his ‘age’ keep trying to convince him to play ‘tag’. He has no idea why the crèche-master takes him to the archives to help him pick a name.
The moment he chooses ‘Anakin’, his otherworldly glow dims and his head feels less full.
As the years go by and more milestones are passed (he plays tag - it was enjoyable. He makes friends. He giggles when Yoda tells jokes. He helped a broken mouse droid because it seemed like the kind thing to do) Anakin becomes more and more human, his glow almost gone and the big words he’d once known forgotten. He can no longer do the impossible feats of Force strength he once could, but that power is still inside him somewhere. Master Kenobi says it will come back to him when the time is right. But not without lots of training.
Either way, when the clones bring up nat-borns and Anakin is ???? the entire 501st misinterprets and believes that every Jedi just pops up in the Temple fully robed

Fenton Family on Vacation (part 1)
Original Post⬅️
"You know, when you revealed yourself as Phantom, I thought it would be much harder to adjust." Madeline Fenton, ghost-hunting extraordinaire and mother of two, stared at the swirling green portal in her basement. Despite building the darn thing herself, with its glowing wires and simple design, Maddie felt like she was seeing the whole thing for the first time.
It was late afternoon on a Saturday. At least, Maddie assumed so. She hadn't stepped foot outside their lab for a while now. Too busy modifying all their ghost-hunting equipment. The blinking red numbers of the digital clock on their desk said it was almost six in the evening. Then again, it has been six in the evening for the past several months. The clock was very much broken, and no one had bothered to fix it.
It was summer, so the time spent in the Fenton lab drastically increased. And with the reveal of their son Danny, Maddie practically breathed ectoplasm with the amount of time she was spending in the basement. Danny said it was no big deal, but both Fenton parents were determined to re-evaluate their research and inventions completely. Basically, starting from scratch.
So imagine her surprise when, two days ago, both Jazz and Danny sat them down to propose a memorable family vacation.
And for some reason, she couldn't say no. Was it her guilt? They were prepared to shell out the money for any dream destination the kids proposed. But no, Danny had invited them to a different dimension via the Ghost Zone. This was tremendous progress, not just in her relationship with her kids but also for their new research. (Let's not mention the headache she got from learning parallel dimensions exist.)
Apparently, the kids had been planning this for a while because now everyone was packed and armed to the teeth, two days later. Jazz had taken care of the logistics-when to leave, how to get there, what to bring. Danny was the one to choose the location since he was the most familiar with the Ghost Zone. Maddie learned much later that he had just thrown a dart at a lineup of names on a corkboard.
"Are you sure it's okay for us to enter?" Maddie looked concerned.
"Yeah! It'll be fun, mom!" Danny reassured. "It's just a week off-I've always wanted to show you the cool parts of the Ghost Zone without the immediate threat of horrible death." Maddie gave her son the stink eye. He was grinning a bit too innocently for her liking.
"Well, I think it'll be a great bonding experience!" Jack announced, winking at Danny. Badly. "Someone was being a little paranoid about the mall trip yesterday; I hardly got a chance to spoil our new little princess."
Ah, yes, their new granddaughter. Danielle. Maddie had been furious to discover how horrible Vlad had been to her family. Attempting to murder her husband, trying to recruit Danny as a weird evil son/apprentice, outright disrespecting and dismissing Jazz's existence, and wanting to marry her?? "Furious" was putting it lightly. The man slept with a doll version of herself, for heaven's sake! And then Danny just offendedly mentions that Vlad had cloned him. Several times. Only one clone survived; a little girl with no identity of her own. And here was her son sheepishly asking if they might consider letting the clone stay? Even for a little? She was traveling around right now but didn't really have a place to call home-
Maddie and Jack immediately offered to adopt the girl into the family as their youngest.
(Jazz giggled. "Danny already beat you to it. They tried being cousins at first, but he acts like a total dad around her—the fastest case of ghost adoption that I've ever seen. Instead of a new child, Elle's more like a new grandchild.")
Danny blushed, hunching his shoulders in. "I don't know if Elle wants to be a grandkid-we haven't talked about it, really."
"YOU CAN BET YOUR SWEET BISCUITS I WANNA BE A GRANDKID."
The trio startled and turned, watching the last two of the Fenton family work their way down the stairs into the lab. Jazz was gripping her backpack in one hand and Elle's arm in the other, using her superhuman strength to keep Elle in line. Probably so Elle wouldn't run down the stairs and permanently kill herself. Jack quietly chuckled at the sight of Elle's ghost-themed backpack, so painstakingly picked out the day before. It was a tad too big and looked just adorable on her. A few tiny blob ghosts floating around her head whizzed in excitement, sometimes using the backpack as a place to hide. Maddie, personally, loved the pink light-up sneakers that Elle showed off as much as possible. Her husband had done well shopping by himself.
It was evident Elle was excited about the trip. Despite all her travels abroad, satisfying her wanderlust, she'd never been to another dimension. When they had reached the bottom, Elle phased out of Jazz's grip, bolting to collide with Jack in a hug. "Yesterday was loads of fun." She exclaimed. "I loved shopping around for new stuff. And if being Danny's kid means I get two new grandparents in the deal, then I'm taking it."
Danny made a face. "But isn't it weird to have a dad so close in age to you? What if people look at you weird?"
Jazz snorted at her brother's words, picking her way around the lab mess. "Danny, you'd be the one they would look at funny. A fifteen-year-old-"
"I'm almost sixteen!"
"A fifteen-year-old who has a physically thirteen-year-old daughter? People will be ready to call CPS."
"And besides!" Elle detangled herself from Jack's grip and stomped over to Maddie with a shit-eating grin as she looked at her dad. "Technically, I'm only a year old. You're not going to leave your poor, unstable clone daughter alone in the world to fend for herself, right?" Danny just grumbled. Something about not even being old enough to drive.
Maddie cooed a bit and enjoyed the hug from her new granddaughter. It was cold but in a good way. Elle's response was a low hum that vibrated through her body. It reminded Maddie of a cat's purr.
"I've been meaning to ask," Maddie said. Elle clung tighter as she adjusted her grip. "What is ghost adoption?? You mentioned that before when explaining your relationship with Elle."
Their son shuffled his feet a little. "Uh, it basically means my core has connected to hers in a parental way, I guess." He was obviously nervous. "When we first met, even before I knew Elle was a clone, my core recognized her as a "baby ghost," so to speak. There was enough of a connection that I kind of adopted her subconsciously."
"But it doesn't happen with between all ghosts." Jazz cut in. It felt like their eldest was giving them a lecture on this and that every week. "Frostbite explained it a while ago, something about similar cores and ambient ectoplasm. Kind of like pack bonding?"
Maddie nodded, barely following. "And Frostbite...you said we were visiting this person?"
Danny perked up, actually floating a few feet off the ground in excitement. "Frostbite is the best! He's the leader of the Far Frozen and looks like a giant yeti. He helped me figure a bunch of things out and makes the best cocoa."
"Well, I'm excited to meet him."
And they were. Going through the portal was an experience and a half. It wasn't the first time they'd done this, but it was still memorable. Danny and Elle had gone ghost and chased each other around the Specter Speeder while Jazz piloted, hunched over the steering wheel. The Ghost Zone was a wonderful mix of greens and purples; Jack lamented his lack of a camera.
("We don't want to give Technus something to use." Tucker explained. Danny's friends had come by to help them all pack properly. "The Fenton Cameras haven't been ghost-proofed all the way, and Technus is an insufferable b-uh, idiot when he manages to get his hands on new tech. I'll never hear the end of it.")
It was just so much colder than they expected. The "Far Frozen" certainly lived up to its name. So did Frostbite and his legendary cocoa. The giant yeti (did he count as a ghost??) also took the opportunity to give each Fenton a checkup (ghosts have doctors???) to make sure everyone was healthy enough for inter-dimensional travel. They were, and Frostbite even handed over a few extra vials of pure ectoplasm to tide the kids over in case they didn't land near a natural source in the new dimension. Jack and Maddie took a few vials each, one for each of their ghost kids, and Jazz just tucked hers away in her luggage with a little pat.
Then they were off sightseeing. Understandably, most of Danny's allies were a bit wary around the (mostly former) ghost hunters but did their best to hide it. Jack and Maddie got to meet Princess Dorathea, who could turn into a freaking dragon how cool was that, Jack-
There was Pandora, a towering woman with blue skin and four arms. She took a liking to Maddie and gifted her an engraved xiphos. "To match her fighting spirit." The woman explained. She did not tell anyone what the engraving meant. At some point, they saw a towering castle in the distance. It was hard to see, but the towers looked like spiraling ice. Jack asked about it.
"Oh, that's nothing special." Danny waved them off. "Don't worry about it. We DO need to worry about Walker's prison, so duck down for a bit. He doesn't like it when the living are in his territory." Maddie didn't bother pushing the subject, so they moved on.
Then there was Wulf, a werewolf who could make portals and was the kids' teacher on that subject. Jazz was especially excited, greeting Wulf with a bear hug. (Maddie vaguely remembered something about her daughter being a werewolf now, but she very rarely changed while in the living world. Maddie had almost forgotten.) Jack was pleasantly surprised to learn Wulf spoke Esperanto. In fact, that was the only thing he could speak. It turns out Esperanto was something Jack had learned during their college days. The two hit it off, and Jack had to be dragged away from whatever conversation they were having.
Time moved a bit sluggishly, but eventually, they got around to "the least annoying ones." Elle had a blast messing with someone named Fright Knight, who just kept calling her 'my lady' for some reason. Danny got a few potshots in when one of his rouges (was that a robot?) got too close to the Speeder. They met Ghost Writer, Amorpho, Lunch Lady, Nocturne, Technus, Ember, Cujo, and a few others. Their final stop was Clockwork's.
The flight there was exceptionally long. It felt like forever, yet the clock in the Speeder only moved forward five minutes. Jazz explained that this was Clockwork's influence. He was the Master of Time, and the closer they got to his lair, the weirder time was. Eventually, the Fenton family arrived. Clockwork's lair was, well, a clock tower.
("Really, I don't know what we expected, Maddie.")
It was dark and green, sitting on a tiny island they could barely land on. Ectoplasm was thick in the air; Maddie was sure that if she weren't already ecto-contaminated, it would have been increasingly difficult to breathe. Multiple ticking sounds filled the air as if the tower was filled with nothing but clocks. Maddie took a wild guess and thought it probably was. A glowing green sticky note drew their attention as they approached the door.
Danny scowled as he read the note. "Daniel, something has come up with the Observants. I would appreciate it if you wouldn't make the Watchtower your new haunt. A natural portal will open next to the Speeder. Enjoy your vacation, Clockwork. Drat, I was hoping he'd be home. I really wanted you to meet him."
Maddie pats his shoulder. "It's okay. I'm sure we'll find time later." Elle giggled at the pun.
"I know." He sighed. "It's just, he can be so cryptic. Why would I make a watchtower my new haunt? I've never even been to a real watchtower! But the note says a natural portal will spawn next to the Speeder so that we can wait for that."
"You mean this portal?"
Jazz was closely examining a small tear in reality that had popped into existence next to her foot. It was small and low to the ground. Small enough that the Specter Speeder definitely couldn't get through. Maddie doubted they'd be going in all at once.
Elle peered over her shoulder. "That's it! Come on, old man, I'll race you!" She dove in without waiting for a reply.
"DANIELLE MADELINE FENTON!" Danny immediately chased after, disappearing into a swirl of green.
"Oh yeah, she's definitely related." Jazz said. "Come on. I'll follow behind once you two go through." Maddie looked at Jack, and Jack looked at Maddie. Fine with them.
Jack went first, knuckles tight from gripping his bag straps, doing his best to suck in his gut before dropping out of existence. Maddie went next, standing on tiptoes and still having Jazz bend down to press a kiss to her cheek before she left. "Make sure to lock up the Speeder."
Jazz smiled, her eyes glowing with the barest hint of green. She had a hand on the Fenton thermos clipped to her belt and if Maddie squinted, she could see the barest outline of a crown on her head. "See you on the other side, mom."
Maddie stepped into the portal, feeling nothing but open air, and fell through.

Edit: OH GOD I FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT DETAIL ABOUT JAZZ I FIXED IT I AM SO SORRY
(the fix was kind of rushed but there is an extra line or two now that actually mentions it)

To my discovery, I seem to be an outlier that has thought, in great, detail about Rex hearing the story of Anakin Skywalker defending the Temple against the 501st men, and being slain by this Lord Vader.
Tumblr media
I think about this scene all the time, from Rex's POV—obviously.
Because the truth was, Anakin was a GOAT of a Jedi. But also? The 501st was Spec-Ops; they helped trained Ahsoka, and Anakin taught his men specifically how to be better soldiers alongside him. The 501st and Anakin knew each other's tactics far more intimately than other Jedi-Clone units did. Rex knew too well how a fight between them and Anakin would have been disastrous for both. Numbers would have swarmed Anakin, he would have killed so many.
Rex's imagination much have just played over and over and over and over again how many of his men's lives his General—who he was so clearly loyal to, but also... proud to serve—fell. He must have imagined that moment when the mysterious new Sith Apprentice showed up, backed up his men, and provided the aide and support needed to take Skywalker's life. The scenario must have played over and over again, none of them merciful.
Every time another body fell, it was another shot in Rex's heart. But, so too was the moment he imagined when his men's blasterfire joined in Vader's blade. When their men had the power of gravity, and pulled Skywalker's lifeless husk onto the beautiful, polished, Temple floor.
Tumblr media
Think about Rex being able to conjure the image of the Temple so clearly in his mind. He knows how his men fought, he KNOWS how Anakin fought, and with his tactical abilities... he could think of so many scenarios that could have very well played out—and he'd know it. He'd sit in the dark and just know any one of them could have been exactly how they happened... and it would HAUNT him that the two fought each other. Killed each other. That HIS men would have helped spill Skywalker's blood on that pristine, reverent floor as his General died trying to defend the children and the elderly. Rex would have known that Anakin would have fought until he couldn't, and it would EAT him up to picture his helmeted men staring down at Skywalker's bloodied face.
And he'd wonder: Who picked up the General's lightsaber? Was it Appo? Did Appo pick it up and hand it over to this Lord Vader?
That horrible, twisted wish that Skywalker killed as many men of their men—as many of HIS BROTHERS—as possible. Men whom Anakin knew by name helped many of them pick out their names and how Skywalker remembered them all. Men that Anakin would recognize by the sound of their voice, a feat only Clones learned to do. Their General, who laughed with them, painted their armor with them.
I can just imagine old-man Rex maybe opening up and talking about this to Ahsoka and Ahsoka? Refusing to correct him. She isn't going to be the one to tell her old friend what he's figured out—what she learned actually happened to Anakin. There's no way she's telling her aging Cloned friend that Anakin, Rex's GENERAL, was Vader—that it had been HIM who led the 501st on the Temple.
Yeah, I think about this a lot—how for the rest of Rex's days, he thought over and over again about what must have happened at that Temple. The role each of them had to play. I think about how Rex's speculative thoughts about his men's role in the Temple's purge and their role in General Skywalker's death.
So, I think about how Ahsoka let him think of these horrors, these nightmares. Because she knew the truth would break his heart more than the images he already played in his head.
The truth would have been a death kneel to Rex's faith, his heart, and his spirit, and I think Ahsoka knew that. There was enough blood-stained betrayal in the old Clone's heart, and I think she would let him imagine that their men, his brothers, had killed their General Skywalker of no fault of their own, and the Jedi Knight he had served for years had instead died valiantly.

Grailfinders Viewers' Choice: Beast IV L
Tumblr media
if anything's getting my icon blurred out, it's this one. anyways!
it's that time of the month once again, and this time I feel like an absolute beast. well, to be more accurate, y'all felt like getting an absolute beast. a beast (fgo definition) that summons beasts (D&D definition). I'm sure this won't be confusing at all.
as usual I highly doubt this build is even remotely balanced for actual PvE play, but beasts are supposed to be world ending threats, so that shouldn't be a surprise.
the build itself will be under the cut, because hoo boy there's a lot to go over.
Tumblr media
first up, beast IV can show up in her standard Koyanskaya form, which is the one primarily used when outside her lair. this is effectively a suped-up version of Koyanskaya of Dark, with access to unlimited weaponry and NFF-brand grenades, all of which work like standard "weapons of <x> slaying" do in D&D- they deal extra damage to humanoids, and can knock humanoids prone.
the big addition here aside from standard high-level-boss resistances is her Add to the Collection ability, where once per day she can try to forcibly plane shift a non-humanoid creature into a demiplane of her creation, basically putting them in suspended animation. this will be important for later.
Tumblr media
form two is effectively Koyanskaya's big shadowy fox form. I didn't make any hard and fast rules about how these forms connect to one another, but I would probably say her masked form can turn into this combat form once a day, probably for a couple minutes at a time.
the gimmick for this fight is her Seasonal Cycle, which both reduces the number of legendary actions she gets to actually attack people each round, but also gives her buffs. I tried to keep this close to her lostbelt-based buffs in her final fight, but I also changed the names to be less FGO-centric if you want to use this build in a game. there's not a ton to say about this one that isn't regurgitating the seasonal cycle, it's just Masked Form with a bigger focus on kicking humanoid ass.
Tumblr media
The big nipply form shown in the build picture has a lot of text, but I'll do what I can to break it down. This is Beast IV's final form, and it's the one that sets up the Tunguska Sanctuary in the first place, so there's a lot going on. Once again her humanoid-slaying effect grows larger, but she can only take this form in her lair, plus her speed is cranked wayyy down at this point. I just. cannot imagine that thing moving any faster than a crawl. if you need something done fast, that's what your lackeys are for.
speaking of lackeys, let's Reveal the Collection. this is a ten-minute ritual, which upon completion can summon copies of creatures that were stored by the Masked Form. The higher the CR of the creatures being made, the less you can make at a time, and the shorter your range is. there's also a lesser version of this you can do as a legendary action, and it's restricted to one creature at a time, of up to CR 10.
but of course, you need a place to put all those creatures! that's why she's got Regional Effects too! it's a whole lot of text, but it basically boils down to making a life zone and a death zone around her lair. half of your collection will tend towards the life zone, and half towards the other. in the life zone, the area is choked by plants, slowing down all humanoids in the area, and also healing effects targeting non-humanoids are more powerful. the death zone has extreme heat, and humanoids have disadvantage on saves against it. also, all summoned creatures in this region have double their normal perception distance when it comes to perceiving humanoids.
-------------
So overall, this build isn't a world-ending threat like Tiamat, or an orbital laser like Goetia, but she's not supposed to be a full-grown beast yet, so I'd cut her some slack. plus, if your party includes non-humanoid players you can make a dozen clones of them to fight the party which sounds like a really fun time. that being said, I do pity any DM who as to keep track of her seasonal buffs in a fight.

Be my queen
Part 1
SteveHarrington x Hopper!femreader x EddieMunson
Here's the first chapter of my new series, this is gonna be shorter than the Eddie one I made.
Just to clarify some things: It says Hopper!reader, again, because it's my favourite, even though he adopted her she stayed in Hawkins instead of going with the Byers because she didn't feel like leaving high school right before her last year so Dustin offered to let her stay at his house (since she used to babysit him a lot) and... that's it. Sorry for the long premise.😂
Hope you'll like this first chapter, let me know what you think and if anyone wants to be tagged you can tell me her as well or send an ask. Love you!✨️
Chapter summary: when Vecna rakes Nancy to show her his plan, he takes Y/n as well to show her he already knows her, or some version of her. For the gang then it's time to come up with a good plan and a trip to the War Zone is due.
Chapter warning: ⚠️ season 4 spoiler ⚠️ blood, non-con touching, violence, Jason being an asshole.

What the hell is happening?
One minute I hear Steve's panic voice calling Nancy and the next I'm in... a laboratory?
My friends and I finally got back from the UpsideDown after being stuck there and now I'm trapped again... it's terrifying.
I look around trying to calm down by taking a big deep breath, the walls are clean and white, just like a hospital. A shiver runs down my spine when I notice a girl, walking out of a room with papers in her hands.
What the fuck?
She looks exactly like me... how?
I decide to follow her, seeing that I have no other option.
As I follow her... me... I see some other people, who look like doctors and nurses. Some of them are followed by kids. Shaved head, all of them.
I quickly take a closer look and notice they have a number tattooed on their arm.
Could it be where El lived?
Oh fuck. I'm in Hawkins' Lab. Why? Why is there a girl who looks exactly like me?
I keep following her around, but before I could follow her into a room I hear a voice calling my name.
I turn around finding a blonde man, looking directly at me.
"Yes?"
I turn around, after my "clone" answered him. Her demeanor changes right away when her eyes spot the man. From calm, almost bored to nervous, on edge.
"I've been looking everywhere for you, love." the blonde man says with a sweet, yet intimidating tone.
"I... I was fixing some things... for today's tests." The girl tells him in a small voice.
As the man walks towards her, I notice the girl taking a small step back, but stops, almost holding back.
"You always work so hard. You should rest for a while" he's now in front of her and she doesn't look comfortable.
"I don't mind it, Henry, I'm not even tired" she say letting out a nervous chuckle.
"Take a break, c'mon. Ten minutes won't hurt anyone" the man named Henry insists, moving his hand to caress her arm so slightly.
"Maybe later. I have to drop off these files and check on the kids" she explains calmly.
"What about I check on the kids so we can have some... alone time?" He asks, inching closer and closer to the girl, who looks around the corridor to probably check if someone's coming.
"I don't think it's a good idea" she says, trying to remain calm "Brenner asked me to personally check on the kids."
Henry just looks at her, almost admiring her.
"Then give me a kiss so I can go on with my day without missing you too much"
He doesn't give her time to respond, his lips are already on hers, moving the hand that was caressing her arm to her hips holding her.
The girl's eyes are open, she doesn't exactly kiss him back, she just lets him and he doesn't seem to notice it.
"I'll see you later, love" he says after pulling away.
"Bye" she says and quickly walks into a room, I follow her just as quickly, however when I enter the room I find "me" attending to the same blonde man, Henry.
He looks bad, like he was beaten up or something, the girl's checking his head.
"Do you feel nauseous, dizzy or..?" She asks.
"No.. just a little stunned" he answers, holding his head.
"That's good... at least a bit."
They stay silent for a moment, the girl looks at him with sorrow, I think, someone must've put this Henry through something really bad for her to feel sorry for a man she was quite intimidated by.
"I'm sorry, Henry" she says.
"Don't be." He replies looking up at her and grabbing her hand, the action makes her tense immediately, still he doesn't notice it, instead he goes on "It was not your fault and you don't need to worry about me, angel, I'm gonna get us out of here."
"What?" She's confused.
"Eleven has a huge power. Her powers have the potential to become something great... she could help me build a new world. A world for us. Then we could finally be together" he explains and now the girl looks alarmed.
"What are you talking about?" She asks.
"Don't think about it, my love, I'll fix everything soon" he tells her and kiss her hand.
What the hell is going on here?
I feel myself shaking, breathing becomes hard so I turn around to get out of the room.
As I walk through the door I'm back in the corridor, but now the walls aren't white and clean... they're covered in blood.
I look around, on the ground laying with broken limbs and bleeding eyes there are the same people I saw walking earlier... the children too... all dead.
I feel myself getting sick when a scream catches my attention.
"Stop!" It's the girl again.
I run towards her voice and enter a wide room, a rainbow fantasy on the walls, lots of kids toys on the floor... there's blood on them too, the children's. I see them laying in the ground blood all over them.
Fuck.
"Please, Henry, you need to stop" I turn to see the girl standing in front of a mad Henry.
He takes a step towards her and she takes a big step back. I don't think she cares anymore if he feels hurt by her actions or not.
"Why are you scared, my angel?" He asks, he doesn't realise she doesn't feel the same and he definitely doesn't realise what he did wrong, apparently. It makes me sick.
"You... fuck... look at what you did! They're... they're kids.." she tells him in between sobs.
Suddenly he walks to her cupping her face in his hands, preventing her from moving away. She still tries though.
"Don't you understand? Don't you understand why I'm doing this?" He asks her, rather harshly.
"What's there to understand? You... you fucking kill them" she replies, voice breaking at the end.
Before he could answer her there's a noise coming from near the wall.
I look back seeing a boy standing up.
Henry's eyes darken as he notices him, he lets go of the girl and turn his attention to the boy.
"No, please... Henry... please" she tries to stop him, tries to stop his arm slowly raising. "Please... fuck... don't!"
Henry nods towards the door and the girl flies across the room hitting the doors and Henry goes back at killing the boy.
He lifts him into the air and using his power he breaks his bones and his eyes.
The boy looked so young...
As soon as Henry killed the poor thing he looks for the girl, but she's nowhere to be seen.
She must've escaped while he was distracted.
I want to do just that so I run out of the room.
When I go to open the door I find myself face to face with Eddie's own worried face.
"Oh shit!" He lets out a sigh of relief.
"Fucking thank god" Steve exclaims from beside him.
I must've fallen on the ground since I'm laying on Eddie's trailer floor.
"What... what happened?" I ask sitting up.
"We thought Vecna took you and Nancy" Dustin says from beside me so I look at him, caressing his arm to assure him I was okay.
I look at the others, all with worried faces. Nancy's beside Robin who got an arm around her reassuringly.
"Did he let you go too?" She asks and I nod "did he show you what he showed me?"
"I... I don't know"
-----------
We all moved to Max's trailer where Nancy started telling us about what Vecna showed her.
His plan of bringing a sort of army to Hawkins, to let the UpsideDown expand completely into our world through some gates.
They keep talking, but I can't really pay attention, I hear them, but I can't listen.
I'm too focused on whatever the fuck he showed me.
"I was there" I suddenly say from my place on the ground, head in my head thinking.
"So was I. It was... so real I- " Nancy starts, but I interrupt her.
"No. Not that. I mean, I was there, at the lab. Or some copy of me, a clone or... I don't know." I take a deep breath "this... Vecna, one.. Henry, he was, like, in love with this girl, or better, obsessed with her. Delusional. I saw... I saw him killing a little kid... the same way Eddie described... with no sign of regret or even sorrow."
"What... what if he just showed those things to scare you?" Steve suggests, evidently trying not to think of the worst.
"He didn't. I... I don't know what the hell was that, but I know it was very much real... and it's freaking me the fuck out, okay? I myself don't want to believe it, but... there's no denying it." I tell him. "For some reason I, or another girl who looks exactly like me, was there and he feels like he found her again."
"Why doing all this just for... a girl though?" Robin asks "don't get me wrong, you're a wonderful girl, I'd gladly do that too. But why be so obsessed?"
"He needs a queen" Dustin answers her, like it was obvious.
"Fuck..." I mutter hiding my head in my hands once again.
"Shit...Try 'em again. Try 'em again" Steve tells Max, who immediately goes to the phone.
We've been trying to contact El, Will and Mike, with no results.
"Anything?" Dustin asks.
"No. Rang a few times, then went to busy signal." Max answers.
"Maybe you punched it wrong. Try again" Steve says.
"I didn't punch it in wrong" Max replies, rightly annoyed.
"Well, I don't know" Steve tries.
"I think she knows how to use a phone" Dustin defends Max, who's trying once again.
"I'm just saying, she could've typed it in wrong." Steve insists.
Max hangs up the phone again "same shit"
"How is that possible?" Lucas asks confused.
"I told you, Joyce has this telemarketer job. She's always on the phone. Mike won't stop whining about it." Dustin explains.
"That can't be three days straight busy, Dustin" I say.
"Yeah, something must be wrong" Max agrees with me.
"They're right. It can't be just a coincidence. It can't be" Nancy too agrees."Whatever is happening in Lenora is connected to all of this. I'm sure of it. But Vecna can't hurt them nor take Y/n. Not if he's dead. We have to go back in there. Back to the Upside Down."
"Whoa. No, no, no. What?" Steve complains.
"Nope." Eddie too shakes his head.
"She's right" I say standing next to Nancy. "I don't know about you, but I don't exactly like the idea of being some teen-killing monster's mistress or whatever. So we either kill the bastard or... we kill the bastard" I say matter-of-factly
"We barely made it out of there in one piece" Steve points out.
"Yeah. That's because we weren't prepared, Steve." I tell him. "We just need a plan"
"A good one. Then we'll go through the gate, we'll find his lair, and we'll kill him" Nancy supports me.
"Or he'll kill us" Steve replies, agitated "the only reason you survived is because he wanted you to. He's not scared of us."
"And for good reason" Robin finally speaks "we were wrong about Vecna. Henry. One. Sorry, what are we calling him now?" She asks.
"One" Dustin and Lucas choose.
"Vecna" says Erica.
"Henry" Nancy says, as a matter of fact.
"Piece of shit?" I suggest, noticing a nod from Eddie.
"Right. We've learned something new about Vecna/Henry/one... uh... piece of shit. He's a number like Eleven, only a sick, evil, male, child-murdering version of her with really bad skin. But my.. my point is, he's super powerful. He could turn us inside out with a snap of his fingers. It's not a fair fight."
"Then why fight fair?" Dustin asks, simply "you're right. He's like Eleven. But that gives us an upper hand. We know Eleven's strengths and weaknesses" he explains.
Genius.
"Weaknesses?" Erica's quite confused now.
"There is one thing we can use." I say.
"Exactly, when El remote-travels, she goes into this sort of trance-like state. I bet the same is true for Vecna" Dustin keeps talking.
"That would explain what he was doing in that attic" Lucas points out.
"Exactly. When he attacks his next victim, I'll bet you he's back in that attic, physical body defenseless." He declares.
"Defenseless? What about the army of bats?" Steve rhetorically asks, pointing at his injured neck.
"Right, true. We'll have to find a way past them. Distract them somehow." Dustin answers.
"And, uh, how do we do that, exactly?" Eddie asks, about to standing up.
"No idea" Dustin replies and Eddie sits back down defeated. "But once they're gone, he doesn't stand a chance. It'll be like slaying sleeping Dracula in his coffin"
"That a sounds good in theory, but there is no pattern in Vecna's killings. I mean, at least not one that I can decipher." Robin notes. "We don't know when he's going to attack next. We don't even know who he's going to attack"
"We don't need another victim" I say, looking down.
"What are you talking about?" Nancy asks, worry clear in her voice.
"I can be the bait."
"No" Steve and Eddie says at the same time.
"I will" Max speaks up. "I can still feel him. I survived before I can do it again"
"No." I firmly say "we don't know if the music thing will work again. He will kill you, if he gets another chance. But he will not kill me"
"We... we don't know that, Y/n" Steve walks in front of me.
"Yes, we do! You didn't see what I saw. How he was with her. He looked at her like she was the reason the sun goes up every morning." I look him in the eyes, my voice gets softer "he won't kill me, Steve"
"Are you sure about this?" Lucas asks.
"Positive" I say letting out a big sigh "just... please kill him"
"We need supplies" Nancy declares.
-----------
After stealing an RVs we head to the War Zone that, according to Eddie, has everything we might need for killing things.
The plan is to buy weapons and then find an open space to get ready and be away from unwanted attention.
I sit in the back with Dustin while the others are scattered around and Steve's driving.
"Are you worried?" Dustin suddenly asks.
I look up at him, then I look around to avoid his worried stare and find Eddie's, instead. I smile at him, to let him know everything is alright.
"Scared shitless" I then say to Dustin.
"You don't have to do this. You can back down and we can think of a new plan together" Dustin tells me, he tries to both reassure me and make me change my mind.
"I know, I know. But the only other valid option is for Max to be the bait and, in all honesty, that scares me even more" As I speak I play with my fingers I sense someone's presence with us so I look up seeing Eddie.
"Hi" he softly says.
"Hey" I reply.
"I'll leave you two" Dustin smiles at us and gets up to join Lucas and Max.
"You okay?" He asks and I softly laugh. "Stupid question, I know. I'm sorry"
"Nah, don't worry about it. You can ask all the stupid question you want" I smile at him.
"I really wish you wouldn't have to do this" he gently holds my hand.
"Me too. But better me than Max, or anyone else" I say laying my head on his shoulder, I always found comfort in this. We've been friends since I started driving the kids back and forth when they had Hellfire, so we got closer. Sometimes I feel like there's more, but whenever anything could happen he backs down so I'm never sure how he feels.
"Actually it would be better to send Harrington. Maybe he could distract him with his hair, make a good use out of it for once" he jokes.
"Don't be mean." I say with a chuckle. He always knows how to cheer me up. "He might give him lessons on how to style it properly" I joke too.
I look at Steve driving.
Steve...
Steve, on the other hand, I met him when he and Nancy started dating, so of course he was always in the way. I didn't mind it honestly, he turned out to be not that much of a dick. Then he just got better, especially thanks to Dustin's friendship, but here's the things get complicated. When he worked at Scoops Ahoy with Robin he always flirted with me as I went to visit Robin during my breaks at the music store at Starcourt, at first I thought he was his way of joking. The moment I realised he wasn't joking I also realised I didn't mind it at all. I wanted him to flirt and I wanted to flirt back.
So... I realised I like, have some sort of feelings for two guys... at the same time.
Complicated.
"We're here" Steve announces parking the van in a secluded area to keep Eddie, Dustin and Lucas away from the people of Hawkins.
-----------
The store is huge.
"So much for avoiding angry hicks" Robin comments.
"Let's be... fast" Nancy suggests and we all agree.
Nancy and I go check out of the shotguns they sells.
"How much?" Nancy asks the seller.
"$120.99, but I'll throw in 20 rounds of buckshot for ya" he tells us and I just nod at Nancy.
"Not bad." I whisper to her and she agrees.
While we keep looking Nancy hands me the weapon, but then I hear a familiar voice.
"Hey, can I see this real pretty .357, please?"
"Oh shit" I comment and Nancy quickly looks behind me and turn around just as quickly.
"You go. I got this" I tell her.
"You sure?"
"Yeah, just try warn the other to keep an eye out for his goons. They must be around here too" I nod and she walks away, but that must've caught Jason's eyes because he then speaks directly at me.
"Look at that... What are you doing here?" He asks.
"Oh you know" I start turning around to face him "they say there's a killer on the loose... gotta be prepared."
"Aren't you the freak's bitch?" He harshly asks.
"It's really sad you can't recognise what a friend looks like" I mock him, keeping a serious expression.
I see his jaw clenching hard, my words hit the target apparently. He relaxes his face and takes a breath and just looks at me, in a way that makes a shiver run down my spine.
"It's a real pity" he then says.
"Yeah, it is. It means you never had an actual friend in your life" I say with a fake pout on my face.
He just laughs humourless.
"No, babe. A real pity is how you ruined yourself by hanging out with the freak" he walks closer.
"Oh no... you think I ruined myself?" I ask with fake shock, then I just smile "thank god. If having good friends instead of assholes like you ruined me... glad to be ruined, sir"
"You were really pretty, you know. I mean, you kind of still are... I'd gladly help you find the right way back." He... flirts..?
Oh now I'm gonna get sick
"Wow... your girlfriend died not long ago and you're already harassing another girl... just wow." I laugh sarcastically "see? That's what makes Eddie so much better than you"
"What would your father say, uh? I don't think Hopper would be happy about it" he suddenly says.
Oh... he didn't just mention my father, did he?
Now it's my turn to clench my jaw, he notices and smiles proudly.
"You wash that fucking mouth before talking about my father, because you. Know. Shit." I tell him, walking up to him.
"Want my advice?" He asks completely ignoring me.
"No"
"Shotguns are not good for much of anything past killing small birds" he tells me, eyes focused on mine "I mean, they got power, sure, but not much range. And that's just gonna force you into close-range combat, then someone can easily redirect it by grabbing that barrel, like this.."
He suddenly moves to grab the barrel, but I'm faster, stepping back and moving the shotgun out of his reach earning a surprised expression from him.
"Keep talking about shit you clearly know nothing about and I might just show you what my father would say" I warn him and walk away.
I go pay for the stuff I got and reunite with the other as we walk back to the van.
"Remind me, please, not to make you angry?" Robin tells me with a proud smirk.
"You could never"
"That was... I gotta say... quite hot" Steve tells me pleasantly surprised.
I just wink at him, and we all hurry to get on the vehicle and just rush off before anyone could see us.
We quickly rush into the RV.
"What happened?" Lucas immediately asks.
"We gotta go" Steve cuts him off.
"Your old friend are here" Erica informs her brother.
Steve starts the vehicle, immediately driving away as soon as the last of us gets in.
I move on the back with Dustin and Lucas.
"So.." Dustin starts.
I look at him, waiting for him to continue.
"Yes?" I urge him on.
"When are you gonna talk to them?" He asks.
"To who?" Lucas asks, suddenly interested.
"Eddie and Steve" Dustin immediately answers and I roll my eyes "C'mon! It's clear as the day you feel something for them, the both of them and they feel the same."
"It's more complicated than you think, Dusty" I tell him softly.
"It's really not." Lucas interjects "I mean, Eddie kept worrying about you the whole time you all were in there. I mean very worried. Very."
"Yeah. And you didn't see the look Steve had when you volunteered to bait Vecna" Dustin adds.
"Yeah... I told you. Complicated" I tell them to drop the subject, so I just lean my head back and try to think of something else.
I have no idea what will happen.
I keep thinking about how this is real. I was there. I saw myself there in that lab, with Vecna, Henry or whoever the fuck he is. How is that possible? Is it some kind of trap?
What scares me the most is that I have this feeling it's not a trap, it's all true.

The Bond Between Us ~ 44
THE BOND BETWEEN US MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
< previous chapter
Word Count: 2,380ish
Summary: You run from the Empire. But, unfortunately, you’re unable to run forever.
Notes: Basically some more angst. Sorry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You did not sever the bond as Yoda had advised. You had already made a heart-wrenching goodbye after losing so much, you were not ready to lose more. Though your bond remained intact, you did not let yourself reach out to Obi-Wan or respond when you felt him reaching out to you. It was heartbreaking to do so, to not make that connection, but you were trying to protect him and the twins.
Running wasn’t easy, especially with the rapidly growing presence of the Empire in almost every planetary system. The clones—now known throughout the galaxy as stormtroopers—could be found on every planet that the Empire ruled over. The Emperor had also quickly put together the Inquisitorious Program. The members of the program were Force-sensitive agents of the dark side who worked in hunting down any Jedi that had survived Order 66 and any other Force-sensitive beings. You had thankfully only heard whispers of the Inquisitors, never running into them yet yourself.
One of the whispers that followed with the Inquisitors was that Darth Vader governed them. You knew that Darth Vader was the Sith name for your brother, Anakin Skywalker. It didn’t much surprise you that he was leading the charge to hunt down the remaining Jedi. You knew that he was mainly doing it to hunt you and Obi-Wan down—revenge having consumed him. You would not let him get to Obi-Wan; the fact that you loved him too much to let that happen and you feared what Anakin would do if he found Luke.
The times when you tried to get some rest were some of the hardest. It was in those still moments that your mind would remind you of what had happened.
The clones turning on you.
The siege on the Temple.
Fighting with Anakin.
Padme giving birth and being taken away.
You having to leave Obi-Wan.
Your tears weren’t controllable when the memories resurfaced. And, when you did chance to fall asleep, your nightmares only replayed the memories with such vivid detail. You couldn’t imagine what you looked like, especially after those hard nights. People you passed as you tried to blend into wherever you were at the time, could be caught staring at you. You feared that they could tell that you were a former Jedi or just that you clearly didn’t belong. But then someone made a comment about your appearance.
“You don’t look so good, sweetheart,” the bartender noted as he passed you a drink. “You running from something?”
You threw some credits down on the counter. “Yeah…” you mumbled. “Love…”
“Sounds about right. Need a place to rest?”
You shook your head as you downed your drink quickly. “I’m good, thank you.”
You never stayed somewhere more than a night or two. You could feel that you were being hunted and you feared that one wrong misstep would let them catch you. And you weren’t about to let that happen. You, unfortunately, had a few altercations with stormtroopers a few times, pressuring the search for you further. After the most recent altercation, the Empire had you as the number one most wanted person. On almost every public screen in the Empire, your face would appear as a warning every so often. This meant that you were really on your own now.
It had been a little over a year since you left Obi-Wan on Senator Organa’s ship. There was no end to running in sight. No hope besides the twins that were separated and being cared for by the best of people. You often found yourself wishing that you could be one of those lucky ones to watch over your niece and nephew, but you knew the risks.
That’s why you were rushing through a crowd, trying to make it onto the cargo ship in time. You needed to leave this planet as you had been spotted by a set of stormtroopers. When you reached the cargo ship, you noticed that stormtroopers were guarding the entrances. You suspected that there would be some inside even, waiting for you to make your move.
“Blast!” You muttered.
You ducked behind another ship, peeking your head out as you tried to come up with a plan. Glancing up, you checked out the ship you were hiding behind. It wasn’t very big, but you could easily get off the planet using it and, hopefully, the stormtroopers wouldn’t expect it. You jumped up onto the ship, Forced open the cockpit, and slipped in. You started the ship up and could see out of the corner of your eye a group of stormtroopers heading to check out the ship.
As you slowly guided the ship off the ground, you looked at the stormtroopers and cockily saluted. You smirked as they started to shoot at the ship. Turning the ship, you took off into space. You didn’t get very far when a star cruiser exited hyperspace. A familiar presence onboard.
“Anakin,” you whispered.
This was the closest you had gotten to him since the fight at the Jedi Temple. You were frozen for a moment, unable to move. TIE starfighters began flying out towards you but didn’t start shooting. As they neared, you finally shook your head and began dodging the TIE fighter's advances. You furrowed your brows in confusion as they continued to follow you but still weren’t firing on you. More TIE fighters flew out as the star cruiser neared and you finally realized what they were doing. They weren’t trying to shoot you down, they wanted you onboard. And you couldn’t let that happen.
Your dodges became more desperate as you tried to break free so that you could enter hyperspace. It was then that they began firing on you, but not to kill, just to prevent you from going anywhere. You were going to try one more move when suddenly you couldn’t control where the ship was going. Seeing how close the star cruiser was to you, you realized that you were caught in a tractor beam and being pulled into the ship. You cursed yourself silently for choosing a small ship with nowhere for you to hide. Out of habit, your hand went to your hip only for you to remember that you no longer had your lightsaber. Even after a year, you were still struggling with the fact that things had changed.
Taking a deep breath, you tried to remain calm as the ship was pulled into the star cruiser’s hangar bay. You knew that you could not fight your way out of this, especially when you noticed the rows of stormtroopers lined up outside the window. You inhaled sharply as you saw a large man wearing all black with a helmet on marching towards the ship. His cape flowed behind him. You felt the familiar presence, though it was significantly darker than you had last felt it.
As soon as the ship was sitting in the hangar bay, stormtroopers surrounded it, aiming at you. You released the hatch, put your arms up in surrender, and slowly got out of the cockpit. Eyes focused on the half man, half robot in front of you, you noticed how heavy the man was breathing.
“Search her,” one of the troopers ordered once you were on solid ground.
The poncho you were wearing was torn off of you as well as the bag that was slung across your shoulder. Two of the troopers patted you down as two others searched your bag and basically all the other troopers aimed at you. Your eyes never wavered from the heavily breathing man in front of you.
“She’s clear,” another trooper answered, not sounding like how any of the clones ever sounded like.
“You’re alone,” Darth Vader’s voice was deep, heavy, and almost robotic, stinging your core. “I am surprised.”
“As I am surprised to see you in this condition,” you responded. You moved your hands to rest on the back of your head so that they were still up.
“My condition is only one man’s fault.” Vader’s voice filled with anger. “Where is he? Where is Obi-Wan Kenobi?”
“I don’t know. I haven’t seen him in over a year.”
“Liar!” He threw his hand out and used the Force to begin choking you. Slowly he lifted you up in the air as you struggled to breathe. “Where is he?!”
“I… don’t… k—know…. Honestly….”
Vader threw you down on the ground. You coughed as you tried to get air back into your lungs again. Darth Vader marched toward you, roughly gripped your arm, and pulled you to your feet.
“I know you know where he is,” Vader said, his anger almost as loud as his breathing. “You and Kenobi can’t be parted for too long.”
“Just as you and he once were,” you retorted.
His free hand reached up and physically took you by the neck, squeezing. “You will tell me where Kenobi is or I will force it out of you.”
“What—“ Your hands grasped his wrist, trying to loosen his unrelenting grip. “What… has happened… to you… Ani?”
You choked more as he squeezed harder. Black dots surrounded your vision as your eyes fought to stay open. Eventually, you had no choice but to give in, losing consciousness in Vader’s hold. He tossed you down to the ground and stared at your form for a moment.
“Take her to the detention level,” he ordered. “Make sure she’s bound.”
Vader looked at you until the troopers grabbed you to pull you away. Then he spun around and marched off.
~~~
You had tried to be strong, tried not to show that they were causing you any pain. But after being shocked over and over again, at varying intensities, for who knows how long, you couldn’t hold back the screams any longer. You were panting, unwanted tears slipping down your face, as you hung in the air. Your head hung down weakly, the ring and chain around your neck hanging in your eye line. The troopers had stopped briefly due to the doors behind them sliding open. You glanced up as the stormtroopers moved to an attentive stance. The person who walked in, all cockily, didn’t surprise you.
“Tarkin,” you scoffed softly.
The man smirked. “General Y/N L/N,” Tarkin greeted, coming up to you. You could see Darth Vader standing in the doorway behind him. “It’s great to see you again.”
“I can’t say I feel the same.”
He chuckled darkly. “You would feel better if you would simply tell us the location of General Kenobi.” You clenched your jaw, not saying a word. “We all know that you know his location. Darth Vader has informed the Emperor and his council of the relationship you and Kenobi had.” You glanced back at Vader before focusing back on Tarkin. His fingers went up and held the ring hanging from your neck briefly. “The two of you cannot be very far from one another.” His hand came up to caress your face, you snapped your head away.
“I do not know where he is… and, even if I did, I would never tell you.”
“We will see about that. We will break you in time.” He stepped back. “Continue on.”
The stormtroopers ignited their electric spears and began prodding you again. You screamed out. You wished that this torture could end but you would never put Obi-Wan or the twins in danger. You would rather die.
~~~
Obi-Wan was working in the smoldering suns of Tatooine. He had gotten a job collecting meat from dead creatures not long after arriving on the desert planet. It was a job that didn’t require much interaction with others and took him away from the cities to keep his identity hidden. He was in mid-chop when he felt the first sign of pain—of your pain. His hands began to tremble as the shocks of pain grew closer together and more unbearable. Sweat trickled down his face as his jaw clenched and he tried to control the pain.
His signature branched out to try and reach you. He needed to connect. If not to help with the pain, but to just feel you. If you were feeling incredible amounts of pain, Obi-Wan knew you were not safe. He wasn’t surprised when he found you blocking him from fully connecting. You had done that ever since you left him on Bail’s ship. Every time he was blocked hurt more than the last.
Obi-Wan was thankful that his shift was over soon after the pain had started. His fists were clenched as he was practically hunched over on the transport. When he finally reached the cave he was calling home—though nothing was home without you— Obi-Wan collapsed on the ground. The pain was becoming more and more unbearable. He was feeling overheated, and sweating, as his heart felt like it could beat out of his chest. His hand clamped around the ring hanging from his neck while his eyes began to blur with tears and just the inability to focus.
He lurched forward with a gasp as another wave of pain shot through him. Falling on all fours, Obi-Wan was finally able to realize what was happening. You were in pain from injuries or torture or something, but now…. You were severing the bond. Something was happening and you were being forced to sever the bond between the two of you.
“No,” he gasped, pleading. “No, please… little star…”
Obi-Wan knew that you couldn’t hear him, but he couldn’t help himself.
“Please… don’t do this…” he continued.
The pain continued, inside of him and in the Force around him. Sobs began to wrack his body as he failed to be able to reach you or control the pain. Fully collapsing on the ground now, Obi-Wan turn to lay on his back. He could feel as you made a small connection.
“I’m so sorry, Obi,” he heard you in the Force. “Please, forgive me.”
And with that, the connection was torn, leaving Obi-Wan passed out on the dirt floor of his cave and officially all alone.

F66x RoD Story Thoughts something something let's talk about the bald flower mother
(just to keep you from being surprised, this post will be the opposite of my post on Griff's RoD story in that I will praise this story a bunch before ultimately saying I kind of don't like it) (edit: ...unless)
Number 1 THANK GOD THE FLOWERS WERE A RED HERRING (I spin around like a flower girl dressed in red singing lalalala. lalalala. lalalala.)
Despite being an obvious reference (just like the Black Flower to the Lunar Tear before it) it would have made absolutely zero sense to connect these two in any worldbuilding sort of way (just like the Black Flower to the Lunar Tear before it)
Not everything has to have a """Lore""" explanation for their connection to have meaning. Kind of the opposite. Fuck Lore.
Number 2 HOPE AND DESPAIR
There's just something here that I really love about the nuance that F66x didn't despair when F66y (that's not a mistake, that's foreshadowing) did. It actually lines up really well with 10H and YoRHa in a way that I really appreciate, but it's kind of hard to put into words...
I have recently noticed that there are so many situations that are just common in media, that are so 'outlandish' in real life that I just wouldn't know how I as a person would react to them - most of the time stuff that has to do with death.
Take Noble Sacrifices for example - they're absolutely everywhere, it's a 'trope' more common in media than gay people but they almost never actually happen in real life, right? It's not common for someone to sacrifice their life for somebody. (or maybe i'm just a sheltered european, i certainly hope it doesn't happen that often)
And maybe I'm just a bad person but I couldn't possibly tell you if I would ever sacrifice my life even for a potential 'soulmate' or whatever you would want to call that person. I just can't see myself doing that and even trying to imagine it, it's just such an outlandish idea that I would ever get into a situation that would demand it - and yet books, tv shows, movies, video games, everything pretends it's just the natural thing to do if you Love someone. Because that's what Love just simply makes you do. You would Die for someone - and if you don't something must be wrong with you.
But in this situation these reasons for sacrifice just vanished. Her son was a lie and the war cannot end - and yet in a situation where the common thread would therefore be to assume that F66x would despair - because logistically there is no hope left so she has to, right? - she just doesn't and for some reason that's something I can empathize with. Why would it matter if there's "hope" left? Why does that mean that you wouldn't do something like what she does? You would die anyway, so you might as well die doing "what's right."
And it's the same thing with 10H, right? Mama always thought she couldn't tell her the truth because, well, the 'natural' reaction to hearing the reason you're fighting - the reason you're living - is gone is that you don't fight anymore, because all hope is lost. But no. Life is more than the purpose we tell ourselves. 10H loves Mama even and especially after all she's done to her - she doesn't need hope to help out Mama, she wants to do that for her own reasons. For her own values. Because she's her own person.
F66x says Fuck Hope, where she's coming from she doesn't need it to do the right thing.
Number 3 THEIR NAMES
For the longest time I thought that 063y and F66x's names might be Hexadecimal Numbering (as in 063 would be Clone Nr.99 and F66 would be Clone Nr.3942 with the x and y being their chromosomes) but not as in "there are at least 3942 different female clones" but as in "this is the 3492th x clone of the same two clones" I don't know what the general consensus regarding their names is, I never see people talking about it, but it also doesn't really matter/make sense since their stories are all from random times along the clone timeline - But!
If this is the case I think it makes sense for their RoD stories to be those clones they're named after specifically. I can see 063y's story as happening pretty early on while this one happens almost 4000 clones later near the end and it gives some sort of timeframe for the entire war too. Not that I would be particularly invested in fitting all of their stories into a proper Lore timeline because, again, it really doesn't matter - but it makes sense to establish how long this war probably was - and as such it was probably at least 3942 clones long so take that as you will.
Number X THIS IS THE POINT WHERE I TELL YOU THE TRUTH
F66x is kind of boring. There, I said it.
Like, she has so much going on. She's such an obvious, broad hint to Drakengard's entire Legacy and some of its most fascinating Symbolism - She is literally the bald-headed Mother of Grotesque Flower Creatures that are hell-bent on devouring humanity. Like, this has to be deliberate - and yet they barely seem to do anything concrete with it.
Somehow, a creepy woman from a spin-off game nobody even cares about (Play Voice of Cards:Forsaken Maiden) who didn't even have a singular line in the game did it better than her and that's fucking weird when this specific game is so conscientious about everything else it does.
And just to reiterate: This is not in any way a contradiction to my first point - she doesn't have to be lore related to be symbolically related.
F66x's stories are (to me) about 'I made this happen, so I have to fix it' - they're about the Personal Responsibility of what the original X did and how her clones inherit that responsibility without any real agency through Reincarnation (which is hereby once again demonstrated to be a cage) - and there are clones that abuse their position in the structures that X's actions have created (Hidden Stories) and then there is RoD F66x who is like "I do not even need Hope to want to end this."
...this was supposed to lead into something entirely different, but I've realized something:
Okay. To explain that second point I will quote myself from another post I made about Noelle's RoD story real quick:
So basically, F66x has White Privilege.
And that means it's perfectly in line with the Watchers = Fascism.
Goddammit I did the Griff thing again. I talked myself into liking her while writing this.
Does Drakenier have an overarching bad guy? The answer is of course yes, the motherbeast awaits freedom not really in a straightforward way, but if we do look at a common theme then maybe we could point out that there are a lot of evil red eyes of mind control in Drakenier. But Yoko Taro games are always about something. Did you know DoD 1 came out on 9/11 and then Replicant, which is about 9/11, references DoD 1 in place of 9/11? They always have a point - so surely if there is an overarching thing coming back all the time it has to be a symbol for something, right? The Red Eyes Disease in DoD 1, the Logic Virus, the Legion’s Red Eye (which we saw with Yuzuki’s Ex story) and now Red Eyed Noelle all are characterized as a manipulation of a human through hatred of the world/society as it currently presents itself. Basically every time a character gets to a point where they just really feel slighted and turn against the world their eyes turn red. I think - and this is just a longwinded explanation to get to a “duh.” level conclusion - that Red Eyes are Fascism.
And who is behind the Red Eyes? The Drakengardian Mother. And what was one of those biggest white mistakes humanity has ever had to endure whose repercussions still haunt us to this day? The Big German Fascism Happening. GOD FUCKING DAMMIT THEY DID IT AGAIN. THEY USED THAT MOTIF FOR HER ON PURPOSE
and it makes so much sense too... of course white privilege is a reincarnation cage. how does this game even exist. does square even know? is a gacha game the price you have to pay square for progressive writing in video games? ...every day i get sadder that we won't get rod stories for the actually good season 2 characters because goddamn it they never miss [insert 'society if we saw priyet's rod story'-meme here]
and now i'm thinking about how for 063y fighting the flowers symbolized anti-feminism (-> f66x is a woman) and there they survive despite 'giving up' and how for f66x the flowers/cloning symbolizes white privilege/racism (-> 063y is a black man) and they exterminate it for the sake of the future - and it's kind of... poetic. it feels a little bit messy, but... i like that their stories are kind of about things that affect the other more than them in a way. that's kind of sweet?
nier reincarnation truly is the best game ever written. come on argo, let your final story be about your daughter again because reincarnation is a fucking cage.

Part Two
Only What Burns You Back ~ A Senna Story
Tumblr media
In "Not Just the Carcass, but the Spark", Chief Medical Officer Dr. Senna Divehdi escapes the Empire, and a mind-controlled Crosshair, to join the rest of the Bad Batch in their search for freedom. In this story, however, she chooses to stay with Crosshair, and that choice changes everything.
Words: 1,408
Warnings: None
Loss
“What happened?”
“Shootout in docking bay forty-two. We lost almost an entire squad. Desertion.”
Senna turned from her examination of the injured soldier on the table to face the sergeant who had brought him in. “Desertion? What? Who?” Troopers didn't desert. The very idea of it was abhorrent to them. Loyalty above all. It was in their very DNA.
The clone shifted his feet, looking uneasy. “Clone Force Ninety-Nine, ma’am. Most of ‘em, anyway.”
Senna stared at him, uncomprehending, while Bern straightened at her side. “What did you say?” the medic demanded.
The trooper coughed and looked to the side. “Clone Force Ninety-Nine. We tried to hold ‘em down, but they’re all gone, except the sniper. There was a kid with ‘em too. A little girl. Don’t know where she came from.”
Bern turned to Senna, but she was already running for her office. Inside, the doctor pulled out her commlink, pushing a dedicated number with shaking hands. “Tech? Tech? Please, honey.” She tried Hunter, then Echo and Wrecker, but every channel was dead. Finally, Senna tried Crosshair’s comm frequency, almost sobbing in frustration when the sniper didn’t answer. She leaned over her desk, sweating palms planted on the cool metal as she tried to clear her mind. The trooper in the medbay had said there was a girl with them. There was only one little girl in the Tipoca City cloning facility.
Striding down the white halls as fast as she could without running, her long coat swinging from the weight of the med scanner and datapad in her pockets, Senna commed Nala Se. The geneticist answered, distraction in her usually liquid voice. “Doctor, I apologize but, I—”
Senna cut her off, “Mistress, where are you? I’ve just heard about the fight in the docking bay. Omega—where’s—”
“Doctor, please calm down. I am on my way to speak with the Prime Minister. Please wait for me in my office.”
The wait for Nala Se was interminable. Senna had already been headed to her office, a big, white room, at least to Senna’s human eyes, it was a workplace in name only. Se’s true work was done in her restricted laboratory, some distance from this clean, nearly empty office. Unable to sit still, Senna paced across the white carpet, fighting not to wring her hands and she imagined what could be happening to her boys right now, what the Kaminoans might be doing to Crosshair. She needed to find him. Senna tried each of the squads’ comms again, finally accepting that they were either on radio silence, or that her access to them was being blocked. The doctor had just slumped into one of Se’s uncomfortable chairs when the door behind her slid open, admitting the Chief Scientist.
“Mistress Se—” Senna jumped to her feet, pausing when the Kaminoan held up a long-fingered hand. Se walked gracefully past Senna to sit behind her desk, then gestured for the doctor to resume her seat.
“Doctor,” the geneticist gave Senna a long look, “I am afraid that Clone Force Ninety-Nine, with the exception of CT-Nine Nine Zero Four, has deserted from the Empire. I’m not sure why, but they have taken Omega with them.”
Se’s confirmation of the news sunk like a stone in Senna’s stomach. “Where’s Crosshair?”
“‘Crosshair’ is currently being debriefed and receiving new orders. He has been elevated to a command position.”
“What?” What was she talking about? “You mean, he didn’t try to leave with the others?”
“No. CT-Nine Nine Zero Four has remained loyal. He led the squad that attempted to recapture Clone Force Ninety-Nine after their escape from the brig.” Nala Se tilted her head slightly, as if waiting to see how Senna would react to the news. The doctor could only stare back in horror.
Standing outside of Se’s office, Senna pulled her datapad from her coat pocket. Crosshair might not be answering her comms, but she still had a way to find him, as long as he was still in the city. The doctor tapped in his CT number and, after a moment, the sniper’s image appeared on her screen, his current location listed beneath it. Senna sighed in relief and turned her feet towards the Batch’s barracks.
It took about ten minutes to cross the facility from Se’s office to the part of the troop barracks where Clone Force 99 was quartered, but to Senna it felt like years, her mind churning through horrible scenarios as the white halls passed in a blur. She finally stood before their door, pushing the buzzer with increasing urgency. When there was no answer after the fourth chime, Senna pounded her fist against the metal. “Cross, please. I know you’re in there.”
The door slid open to reveal the sniper, and Senna blinked in confusion at his unfamiliar armor. “What—”
“Do you need something, Doctor?” He was standing below her in the room, the sunken floor making their eyes almost level.
“Doctor?” Senna whispered. Crosshair’s thin face remained impassive, waiting for a response. Senna stepped down, forcing him to take a step back and let her into the barracks. When the door closed behind her, Senna gaped up at Crosshair. “It’s me. Why didn’t you answer my calls? Cross, I was so scared. What the hell is going on? Why did your brothers leave?”
For a moment, she didn’t think he was going to answer her, his armored chest rising and falling as he gazed down at her. Then, “They’re traitors to the Empire. They disobeyed direct orders on Kaller and Onderon.”
His strangely flat tone seemed to echo in the empty room. “But…that doesn’t make sense,” Senna protested dazedly, eyes dropping from Crosshair’s face and past his shoulder to Tech’s bunk. Everything was gone. The entire room had been cleared out. “They don’t—they’re not traitors. They wouldn’t…”
“They did. And they took that kid with them, the little troublemaker.”
“That doesn’t make sense,” she repeated. “Why would they take Omega? Why would she want to leave?”
A bitter tone crept into Crosshair’s voice, his lip curling ever so slightly as he answered, “You’re the one who knows her. You tell me.”
Senna lifted her eyes back to his face, feeling tears of frustration building behind her eyes. “I don’t understand,” she whispered.
Crosshair moved back to the door, pressing the panel to open it. “What’s to understand? They’re gone. But I’ll get them back.”
Tumblr media
Bern knocked quietly on the door to Senna’s office. “Sen? It’s Bern. Can I come in?”
When the door slid open, the medic stepped inside, frowning when he saw the look on his friend’s face. “Sen?”
It was a moment before the doctor pulled her eyes from the console on her desk to look at him. Her eyes were red and puffy, stray hairs falling from her crown of braids. “I found out what happened.”
She turned the monitor towards him and Bern felt apprehensive as he approached. It was a security recording. He wasn’t sure if the doctor, even with her high rank, was supposed to have access to this, but he wasn’t surprised that she’d found a way to get it. The text at the bottom of the screen indicated that it was made earlier that day, in docking bay forty-two. Senna met his eyes wordlessly before she turned back to the computer, pressing a key to replay the scene. Bern squinted at the grainy black and grey figures as they moved towards each other. Then he heard a familiar voice, one that had always grated on his nerves, but now it sounded almost sinister.
“Only one way out, Hunter. Your move.”
Tumblr media
The next three days passed in a haze of grief and confusion as Senna was forced to adjust to the changes between the Republic and Palpatine’s new Empire. All of her equipment, her datapads, her computers, even her personal commlink, were “upgraded” to new Imperial versions. She was given new security access with all new codes and code cylinders that stored in the pockets of her newly issued uniform. The crest of the Republic, in its place beside the Kaminoan emblem on her office door, was wiped away, replaced by the Empire’s six-spoked cog. Senna saw it replaced on the uniforms of every soldier on Kamino.
What did the new symbol stand for? “Order,” the voices on the holonews said, “Security. Peace.” But Senna felt anything but peaceful. There was a word for the way she hadn’t been able to catch her breath since the soldier in the medbay had given her the news.
Dread.

Rex’s Resistance Network
It’s been assumed that because we only see Rex, Gregor, and Wolffe in Rebels that the rest must all be dead. Echo, Cody, the bad batch, all gone. But that’s not necessarily the case. I think Rex’s network is much larger than what we see in The Bad Batch. He has to have numerous contacts or methods for clones to get in contact with him. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he wrote comlink codes on bathroom stalls.
When Chuchi was meeting with the Slip who was looking to escape the Empire, Slip couldn’t give her the name of the one coming to get him. It’s likely Rex wouldn’t give out his name and may use a variety of code names. I don’t see Rex always being the one to pick up the clone going AWOL either. He had Echo and Gregor lead the charge to hit the prison transport.
Just because we only see Rex, Gregor, and Wolffe doesn’t mean the others are dead. It’s possible that they’re still alive and kicking and in hiding or retired. We were supposed to get Cody in the live-action Obiwan series. He was supposed to be on Tatooine trying to atone for what he did (even though he didn’t have a choice in what happened and I don’t think Obiwan would hold that against him). It’s possible Rex drops Cody there and that’s why we don’t see him in Rebels.
We do get pretty clear retirement vibes from Rex when we meet him again in Rebels. It’s possible that’s due to something happening between the events of The Bad Batch and Rebels that results in him, Gregor, and Wolffe going off the grid. Maybe that’s simply age-related, maybe that’s the result of something serious happening (perhaps a death and/or collapse of the clone resistance network). It could be that at some point he realizes that it’s been years since someone contacted him asking for help. That could make him depressed, since everyone that could’ve been saved is either dead or assimilated.
Rex would have ears everywhere I think. He’d be listening for the big names/numbers. The Empire wouldn’t use the clones’ names, rather it’d be numbers that pop up in databanks. But the names would be whispered by other clones. That could clue him in on who is where. Plus you’d have the individual trooper who reached out on his own somehow.
It’s been confirmed that Wolffe will show up in season 3 of The Bad Batch. How he will end up with Rex and Gregor is unclear. We know Rex asked the Hunter and Company to get Gregor. Gregor had activated a rescue beacon. It’s possible those beacons are standard issue and Rex knew the signal to look for. Tech was the one who told Gregor Rex had sent them, as Gregor didn’t know who to expect. But at the sound of Rex’s name, he was ready to trust them. Rex has been declared dead by the Empire so I am unsure how Gregor would know to trust Clone Force 99 unless he had heard rumor of Rex being alive.
I don’t know if he’d ask them to go for Wolffe now that he has more resources to draw on. The reason why he asked the Bad Batch to go get Gregor was due to Rex not being able to go himself. It’s possible Gregor’s beacon came at a time where Rex was working on getting another clone out. For some reason, I’ve always imagined Wolffe as a badass that wouldn’t go down without a fight. Idk if that’s canon or just my headcanon.

I do wonder how I would write a Death Battle script. (No images in this one)
Wiz: Sugar. Spice. And everything nice. These were the ingredients to create the perfect little girl.
Boomstick: But Professor Utonium accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction... A can of Whoopass!
Wiz: No, it’s called Chemical X.
Boomstick: It might as well be whoopass! Anyone who takes a swig of the stuff gains superpowers.
Wiz: And it was no different here, as after his Monkey Assistant knocked the Professor into the Chemical X...
<Explosion>
Wiz: The Powerpuff Girls were born!
Boomstick: Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. Despite being a bunch of ankle biter they really live up to their original names: The Whoopass Girls!
Wiz: Indeed, for they’re the sole reason Townsville maintains a crime rate percentage ratio of point zero-zero-three over zero. That’s a ridiculous number.
Boomstick: And it's not just your run of the mill bank robbers or muggers. They deal with Giant Monsters, Evil Monkey Geniuses, my second cousin twice removed, and even the Devil himself!
Wiz: But it wasn’t always easy for them. Like any child, they were still learning about the world they were living in and the social norms to follow.
Boomstick: And like every newborn, they cause a lot of trouble for you and the people around you.
Wiz: Not to this extreme. In a simple game of tag, they basically destroyed Townsville easier than any criminal before it.
Boomstick: They eventually figured out that kicking major butt is the solution to help them fit in and now whenever the Mayor needs anything from saving the city to opening a jar of pickles, he just gives the girls a ring and they’ll be on their way.
Wiz: They accomplish this by using their various super powers. Like early Superman they have your usual Super Powers like flight, super strength and speed and even laser eyes...
Boomstick: But they also have some freaky one shot powers like setting themselves on fire, creating shadow clones, or turning themselves into a puddle of water. Heck, when they got older they got Green Lantern Powers!
Wiz: While they are virtually identical in stats, they each have their uniqueness. Blossom, for example, has superior intelligence compared to her sisters as well as an exclusive Ice Breath.
Boomstick: Buttercup is a lot more butt kicking than her sisters, but her exclusive power is curling her tongue. I can do that. Look.
<Boomstick makes sounds like he’s trying to do that>
Wiz: That’s not even close.
<Cut to Lab with Bubbles on screen>
Boomstick: Bubbles is definitely the sweetest of the girls, but if pushed too far she would go into Hardcore mode. And she’s definitely scary when that happens.
Wiz: What I find impressive about her unique power is her ability to understand language. Originally, it was just Spanish but as she got better she could understand any language. This includes squirrels and even computer language. She was a programming wizard by the time she was in grade school.
Boomstick: How long were you in college to do all that?
Wiz: Don’t remind me.
<Cut back to Analysis>
Wiz: Despite these differences, and occasional squabbles, the Powerpuff Girls show why they’re one of the greatest heroes in Townsville.
Boomstick: Together, they can create the Furious Fiery Feline, the Razzle Dazzle, the Cherry Bomb, and even with their 4th Sister create a Giant Fusion of them all.
Wiz: Fun fact, the original concept for Dynamo was the three girls fusing into one.
Boomstick: And these girls are fast. In a race, Bubbles was facing this Quicksilver knock off and he can circle the world in seven seconds. Not knowing what the goal was, she was keeping pace easily. But when she found out she had to beat him, she reached the finish line two seconds ahead of him. Imagine how fast she would have gone if she actually tried.
Wiz: No need to. They can travel from the Earth to the Sun in a short amount of time and from an Asteroid Belt in space to earth within a second. The shortest distance between Earth and the closest edge of an Asteroid Belt is said to be 1.2 AUs, or 179.5 million km. To travel that fast in such a short time would be almost 600 times the speed of light.
{NOTE: I specifically got 598.74755 c, so a second look at the math would be required if I did something wrong}
Boomstick: Wow! No wonder they can move so fast they can travel through time.
Wiz: They also have strength to match. They’re strong enough to destroy asteroids, nullify a solar flare...
Boomstick: And even lift a really muscular man, while he’s lifting a mountain!
Wiz: They’re also comparable to the likes of HIM, who is capable of casually stopping the planet from heading towards the sun with ease and caused the solar system to go out of whack.
Boomstick: Perfect Little Girls? More like Miniature Supermen! What can stop these little bugged eyed freaks?
Wiz: Few things. Antidote X will negate their powers, but not destroy them despite being made of Chemical X. Fly Paper for some odd reason. And surprisingly they can still get sunburned.
Boomstick: Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
Wiz: Regardless, as long as the three work together, Townsville can rest knowing that the city will be saved, thanks to the Powerpuff Girls.

Thoughts on The Mandalorian S303, "The Convert"
I forgot this was on last night and I hear it kind of sucks but I'm hoping it will at least not suck quite as bad as episode 3 of The Book of Boba Fett, which made me spit fire. (Am I still angry about it? Yes! At least, I am angry in a banked-fire way, ready to flare up again when given oxygen. It just made me furious that they would make such a wonderful episode depicting the Tuskens as fully-rounded people with a worthwhile, interesting culture and making a statement against colonialism, and then fridge them all. As if Boba didn't have a tragic fucking backstory already, HAVE YOU SEEN IT, IT'S CALLED ATTACK OF THE CLONES)
Anyway I gather it's time for the adventures of Din and Bo-Katan (hereinafter BK [Burger King Kryze]), but mostly not, as for some godforsaken reason a big part of this episode is given over to Dr Pershing, that wormy-looking guy with the big glasses (when have you ever seen someone in Star Wars who wears glasses? he's such an anomaly) who wanted to do mad science with Grogu's blood. Like he wasn't even a mad scientist with flair. Give me the fucking Herbert West of the Star Wars universe or stop wasting my time. I can't really imagine that this is going to feel like it was worth the budget. On we go, though.
Previously on The Mandalorian, there was Werner Herzog. There were mines. BK read a plaque and Din got dunked. BK had to haul his soggy ass out because he can't do anything without getting drowned or maimed.
I like how BK is just sitting there like "much to ponder" while Din gradually revives from DROWNING
how is that little stoup of water going to prove anything? Does it have a special flavour the Armourer is supposed to recognise, like Paeroa water? Mmm. Lemon and Paeroa.
okay, so he didn't see shit, only she knows there's a Mythosaur
Grogu trying to say "This is the Way" like the grown-ups is precious and I want him to do it again.
see the people making this show don't understand that we're in it for the infant developmental milestones
we don't give a shit about TIE interceptors
I am happy to see Din continuing his trandition of never sticking a landing unless Timothy Olyphant is there to see it and gaze at him adoringly
So Kalevala is another of those planets that basically looks like Craggy Island
R5 would like to go back to Tatooine please
I did enjoy the way Din swipped his head over to one side when BK told him "Go right," it reminded me of how I move my head in the car when a part of a song that I like is going to go off.
No! They're blowing up... BK's moping castle.
oh he's started calling her Bo now? seems a bit familiar but w/e
okay it's a big fancy city, I suppose Coruscant or some shit, and now it's the Dr Pershing show, giving a "I was just following orders" speech.
I still can't get over him wearing glasses.
what a wormy-looking little guy.
c'mon I don't want to talk about cloning if I don't get to see clones. Where is Rex? Give us Rex! Give us Temuera Morrison as multiple old-fart clones Tatiana Maslany-style!
Why are people still wearing the fascist-style uniforms, by the way?
and why are people being given serial numbers in place of their names? Are we being told the New Republic is dehumanising?
a mind flayer?
is it just a deep cynicism thing that they are making the New Republic look so awful and hollow and oppressive? As if leaders like Leia Organa and Mon Mothma really didn't have anything better to offer? Because if so I am fucking offended on their behalf
okay, so someone gave you Imperial cookies, again, why do we care? What reason do we really have to be interested in what happens to Dr Pershing? Is this supposed to connect up to something? But you know what? This The Mandalorian. It's not supposed to connect up. It's supposed to be about the leftover, out-of-the-way places and people to whom the changes of regime really didn't mean much - not because they didn't matter at all but because of the sheer distances involved. And Dr Pershing isn't someone who we genuinely know to have been morally conflicted about working for the Empire, like Galen Erso. He's just a wormy guy who tried to hurt Grogu!
"The ethics of cloning are complicated" - I was draining blood out of magic babies
I can't believe they are wasting an entire episode of precious time during which we could be having infant developmental milestones on this drip
I mean the actor is doing his best, but he doesn't have any special charisma. He was convincingly cast in the first place as a wormy little dweeb.
If his research is as important as he says for what? For cloning organs for life-saving transplants, the way he talked about with his mother? Or for draining magic babies' blood to try to make clone soldiers with Force talent?
WHY DO WE HAVE TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME ON THIS GUY
I CAME TO SEE A SHOW CALLED THE MANDALORIAN
ABOUT A MANDALORIAN
this is not a bold story-telling experiment this is boring
ugggghhhhhhhhhhhh
boooooooooooooooooooooo
if anyone had a right to hijack an episode of this show for himself it was Boba Fett, not this loser
I would rather just see 57 minutes or whatever of Boba Fett pottering around, doing maintenance on his armour and weapons, training his baby rancor, having a bit of lunch with Fennec and Cobb, taking an after-lunch nap, sitting down to try and bash out another chapter of that book he's been meaning to write...
this episode is so fucking long! It's not over yet and I think it's already longer than the season premiere!
hey so I'm not sure I've conveyed how little of a crap I give about Dr Pershing and this not-really-reformed space fascist gal
yeah you geniuses, trains do generally have an end
is all this fucking worth it to steal lab equipment
see this episode hasn't convinced me at all that what these two are trying to do is worthwile, or that they have a compelling reason (like fanaticism, even) for believing that it is. They keep saying it'll help the New Republic. How? With what?
oh GOD I don't CARE
you lost me, congratulations, you lost me
I have bought Lego sets of this show and you have lost me
there still isn't an official Cobb Vanth minifig, by the way, I've got a Peli Motto but no Cobb Vanth!
this is so bad
this is so weak
this is so boring
Anakin Skywalker didn't ruin his life and kill his wife and massacre Jedi kindergarteners so you could droop around being this fucking boring!
OH BIG FUCKING DEAL YOU BOTH HAVE NAMES
WE'VE ALL GOT NAMES
SOME OF US HAVE GOT CRAPPY NAMES LIKE GROGU
OR ELAN SLEAZEBAGGANO
OR SIO BIBBLE
I wonder how Elan Sleazebaggano's doing after going home and rethinking his life
GIVE US A WHOLE FUCKING EPISODE ABOUT ELAN SLEAZEBAGGANO WHY DON'T YOU
about his struggle to reform from dealing death sticks and make something of himself, trying to turn his life around right on the eve of a war that would change everything
so... she was playing him all the time? for what? what was the point of all the resources deployed here? just to test the loyalty of a totally unimportant cog in the machine?
I mean, why are they doing this whole fucking 1984/One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest shit? Do they think it's deep to be like "What if the New Republic... was actually Bad???"
he keeps saying he was just trying to help but help with what? What specific problem does the New Republic have that he hoped to be able to solve? No one ever articulated with what!!! it's all meaningless!!!
oh the callously bitten biscuit of villainy
what the FUCK did all of that MATTER
FUCKING FINALLY A MANDALORIAN
hi Paz you big fucking side of beef boy am I glad to see you and I don't even particularly like ya
get over here let us smack that ass
I'm sorry
"I have been to the Mines of Mandalore. We all thought it was going to be an arduous season-long quest but it was actually simple pimple. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Really very anticlimactic."
remember when we thought IG-11 was coming back
I have a tube of WATER that could presumably have come from ANY PLANET WITH WATER but okay I guess it's proof
does it have some unique mineral profile? NOT THAT THEY WOULD EXPLAIN SOMETHING I'M INTERESTED IN
well BK you never actually wanted to be part of this and I don't think it matters at all to you but now you are I guess?
WOW THAT WAS A BAD EPISODE
THAT WAS VERY BAD
UTTERLY POINTLESS
NOT ACTIVELY GENOCIDAL LIKE EPISODE 3 OF TBOBF BUT STILL PRETTY FUCKING IRKSOME

for the title ask meme: along the dotted line
ooooh i like that so much!! on first glance, it makes me think of writing a letter or secret note in a school notebook?
hmm so the obvious choice is Eddie, during Steve's final school year, staring at him from across class and being so mad at how bubbly he feels inside that he scribbles in his notebook furiously to get the anger out. then probably repeats that every time he has classes with Steve, who is either oblivious or purposefully ignoring the guy glaring at him while tearing his notebook apart which is valid.
maybe after a few months, after a few stolen moments of seeing Steve with Dustin and the other kids, the scribbles become words, Eddie trying to figure out why Steve is so different already, it's way too soon for his redemption arc (i enjoy Eddie using story lingo for real people) so his notebook is full of loose pages of "Cloning?? Trap to let people's guards down. Genuine Wants to get back with Wheeler? Being blackmailed by children = most plausible"
and then he finds Steve working at Scoops Ahoy and continues writing on the napkins, observing Steve for any slip-ups but eventually being so enamoured that he has to give up because this guy is way too dorky. the suspicions turns into poetry, dramatic prose about that hair, those legs, that smile, those eyes. not sure where to go from there but maybe Steve finds one of the napkins and gives Eddie his number on a piece of paper with the same dotted lines as Eddie's notebook?
oh but that title also makes me think of roads, which got me imagining my fave concept that i always come back to: Max and Steve skating across town together in the summer, her on a board and him in rollerskates. would really love it if Robin was there too, maybe learning to skate with Steve while Max laughs at them for almost falling for the fifth time. this could easily be a modern AU or a No Upside Down AU, leaning towards the latter. idk something about Stobin and Max hit different ~( ̄▽ ̄)~
or or or Robin trying to make constellations of Steve's moles and spots, which El and Max would walk in on and immediately join in (i love it when Steve is in the middle of an impromptu girl's night) and the ink doesn't wash off so when they all go out to hang out with the Party at Lovers' Lake (a get-together where the main goal is to desensitize everyone to the lake after Season 4 whoops) he's just covered in both made-up and accurate constellations. you can bet Eddie is tempted to write his own name somewhere on those dotted lines (HA)
i'll be honest that last one is my fave (≧∇≦) if anyone wants to use these as prompts for writing, please do and tag me in them!!!

What would happen if y/n got turned into a baby? Or Vice versa the madcom boys turning into baby’s?
(I see Hank throwing a lot of tantrums and Deimos crying a lot to get our attention and Sanford being clingy lol)
Oh god, if you turned into a baby I really don't think they would handle it well. Number one, they have to find a way to reverse that, and they have no idea how you ended up that way to begin with, so that's a lot of stress. Number two, they have no clue how to act around kids. At least 90% of grunts currently alive are the result of cloning, so kids aren't exactly a thing that happens in Nevada commonly (for many reasons that are irrelevant right now), which means they've never even seen one from the start. And to complicate matters further, there's a human baby and it's their Player.
They're completely terrified of somehow hurting you; you're even smaller and more fragile than they ever thought you could be. How they actually deal with it depends on if you've talked about human kids before, whether in your streams that they "overheard" or directly with them. For example, if you babysat anyone before and told them about it, they probably just try to copy that behavior. But they still freak out whenever you do anything.
Like if you make a weird face, Deimos and Sanford freak out and assume you're in pain. (You aren't, you're just confused by something above them on the ceiling. That crack looks concerning.) Or like if you wobble and fall over on the couch, Hank immediately picks you up and takes you to 2B because omg you might've broken something.
Or even worse, when you went hungry for a few hours and couldn't stop yourself from crying as Doc tried to figure out what to feed you. And then some of them probably started crying because they just are very overwhelmed and they can't figure out how to fix this and how to make you ok. They hate seeing little you in so much distress, help them.
But general chaos aside, once they figure it out (or if you've talked to them about it before), they'd spend legitimately all their time fawning over you. You're just so cute and small, it's hard to imagine something so innocent existing in their world. Even Doc lights up whenever you reach out a small hand and grasp his fingers. They also probably fight over who's turn it is to hold you (especially Hank, who just absolutely refuses to let you go). It's funnier if you retain your original thoughts too since you're kinda like 🫤 whenever they fight over you. You humor their fascination though since it's pretty harmless. The best reaction is when you try to say their names though; they just get the biggest smile on their faces when they hear you say a loose string of syllables that sounds kinda like it. You go "'anfo" and "'mos" around Sanford and Deimos and they immediately get teary-eyed and excitedly freak out to the other, likely trying to get you to repeat it as well (Deimos might try to record it too).
But if they got turned into babies, omg, they'd be a complete handful. Doc is the most well-behaved of the bunch, rarely crying and just kinda looking at the others with disappointment as they act out to get your attention. He and Sanford would mainly stay near your side when possible, though Sanford is more outwardly clingy with being held by you. If anything, Doc is more focused on not causing you a lot of trouble, since surely you'd prefer to spend more time around a well-behaved baby than one like Hank. Speaking of Hank, he's the exact opposite. He throws a fit whenever you're out of his line of sight and he isn't above shoving the others if he thinks they're spending too much time coddled in your arms (which is only a minute or two, let's be honest). He's the most tiring to deal with, by far. Deimos notices how you scramble to comfort them whenever any of them get upset, and especially when they cry, so naturally he exploits this mercilessly. He'll well up if he thinks you're leaving him alone, only to immediately stop once you pick him up and allow him to nestle into your neck.
You're right about Sanford being clingy, but he's more the type to pout and hold his arms up towards you instead of crying or having a tantrum when you put him down. He's just an easy kid to deal with, so it's easy to just go about your day with him on your hip since he's not very disruptive. He just likes being with you, so it's fine if you focus on paperwork (for Doc, since he can't do it) or anything else.
However, despite some of the annoying things they do, they're all really cute, so you can't stay mad at them for too long lol. And of course, they use their adorable-ness to their advantage to get you to cuddle them, or give them little kisses on their chubby cheeks as they grab at you. It seems that even in this form, they can't resist the urge to hog all of your attention for themselves. Then again, were you expecting any different at this point?

I have two random questions:
Why the name "seasidemew?" for your Mew/Mewtwo blog (just curious, it sounds nice)
Who is Rota, like I know she's supposed to be a kind of opposite to Mew, but *who* is she?
and, if that Mew is fleshed out enough to answer (any number of) these questions (I always send a couple for options and variety lol oops):
9. What feature does your character like most about themselves?
14. What is the most defining moment in their life?
16. What family do they have?
19. Do they have any enemies or rivals? (maybe Mew?)
WRT blog name: it was the first thing I could think of that I thought sounded "nice" lol. I knew I wanted to name the blog something I could remember that felt nice in my mouth, I guess assuming it would have the same effect on others. If I ever get the actual story going, the "home base" for the core cast will end up being by the ocean.
Rota is the Mew from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, named for the kingdom/citystate the characters visited. I don't know that she or the other characters would really call her that, but I do for the sake of keeping the characters organized in my head. Design-wise, she was pulled from an older Ancient Mew concept I made a while back. It ended up being the Ancient/Primal Mew concept for this blog, and Rota got a more normal-mew-like form as well.
I will probably refer to Rota as our Mew's sister but they wouldn't actually be related in the traditional sense. She is an "original" generation Mew and much, much older than our Mew. She would see Mew--especially her actions relating to M1's creation--as haughty and frankly quite stupid. She has tried to be a guiding figure for our Mew before, but ultimately didn't care to force a connection where it clearly wasn't wanted.
As for the questions, I can try my best. Even if she is canon to the verse, I don't know how much I intend for her to pop up in the story.
Rota's favorite thing about herself would be her views on life and connection to nature. She's seen a good number of other immortals grow weary of the world, our Mew being on the worse end of that spectrum. Rota would take great solace in her ability to stay on the positive side of things. MY favorite feature of hers is her reduced amount of toes and such. I consider it a recessive trait in Mews (that got amplified in cloning to create Mewtwo), and she likely had hands in the creation of other two-digit species like Sneasel.
I can't give you a bunch of exposition right now, but I imagine her most defining moment would be whatever happened to actually connect her to the Tree of Beginning. Just spitballing at this point, but perhaps the True Original Mew was tied to the tree and when they were no longer, Rota was chosen to take their place.
Rota would have either been created by Arceus or, more likely, the Original Mew. She would consider other Mews to be her siblings, and see the descendants of the species she created like children. She was also the source of the genetic material used to create Sixteen (via fossil or something else, perhaps), but she wouldn't really know that even happened.
Rota is more of a pacifist and doesn't like the idea of having enemies, and she wouldn't see our Mew that way. She would take issue with poachers or others that tread into her territory with ill intent, though.
I'm brained out now, thank you for the ask!

Credit to @husborth's wonderful post that went into the depth of love Obi-Wan had for Anakin. Please check it out. The only reason why I didn't add to it is what I wanted to remark wasn't direct enough to what they were trying to express.
So, this stood out to me. No, it isn't more important than the rest. It was just something else that made me pause.
Anyone who has ever studied the after effects of starvation, or read anything about it, be familiar with certain behaviors that commonly follow, and may recognize the subtext hinted at here. I mostly know it from my special interest in WWII.
Pause to consider Anakin's build in AOTC—it appears to be lanky. After WWII, Audrey Hepburn struggled to maintain weight. When he bulked up in the face of the war, was it a struggle for him to keep his muscle mass? I'd imagine so, muscle is already harder to keep on the body than other fasciae like adipose is.
We see in TCW03 his unflinching ability to make do with whatever is around him—instincts and other creepy crawlies. He can survive with almost anything. Sensible Obi-Wan would have turned green if Anakin's plans hadn't distracted him.
Another striking behavior is what translates to food-aggression in humans.
This little line just, to me, hints to further signs of it.
Now I just picture little Ani overwhelmed by Coruscant, by the opulence of the Temple... but the thing that Obi-Wan notices is his reaction to the abundance of food. Him being skittish to ask for seconds, then greedy—would this uncomly behavior be pointed out, and social expectations laid out for him? I don't imagine most Jedi are used to children with signs of food aggression among their numbers, not at this age; most Jedi come earlier, so Younglings would have likely adapted and recovered from the trauma of food scarcity earlier.(*)
Would he have hoarded food away even though he has an abundance?
How would this have affected Obi-Wan once he realized what it all meant?
If he asked Anakin, would Anakin have made it sound small, use that sweet little chipper voice of his to explain it? Then the last bit said in his soft, sweet, shy little sadness, right when he looked away at his small bundle of hidden-food-now-discovered?
(*) This isn't to condemn or vilify the Order. There are just some things in some situations they may not be used to. It does contribute to one of their justifications why they should be cautious training an older pupil, particularly one who has been through what Anakin had gone through. When they took him in, the Order did not know the full scope of his trauma. This would be one reason why Obi-Wan had to take personal accountability for him.
PS. I am in no way a Lore Scholar of the Jedi Order. I am a flailing clone-obsessed monstrosity that sometimes just nods my head and whispers, "Jedi osik" in fond exasperation.
Anakin Skywalker was my first favorite SW character, as far back as when I was a wee thing. When we knew nothing about him—before the Phantom Menace. When he was the mysterious man under Vader's mask. Little me wanted to know more about him. I also thought his name was pretty, and for a time, I insisted I be called 'Anakin.'

Ghost In The Machine
Leave it to human ingenuity. Or perhaps I should say corporate genius. It seems that for every process, law, or method, there is a hack to work around it. Never mind that things were probably good enough the way they were. It’s just that, in our zeal to have an edge over others, we look for the loopholes.
Like all of the ghost kitchens and virtual brands we have discussed earlier this term. While I lauded them early—and correctly so—for leveraging their physical locations so they could test out new concepts and menu items on Uber Eats, DoorDash, and others, it has now become apparent that some of these players have simply duplicated their menus and slapped on a different brand name just so it could grab another line on the list of restaurants we see on our phones.
And now Uber Eats is fighting back, saying that in order to get those multiple listings, the virtual brand must have at least a 60% different menu. Who would have thought it would all come down to this?
But it is a good response from Uber Eats, because they have been taken advantage of in all this by those restaurants and ghost kitchens—which we define as an establishment with no indoor seating, and often located in an industrial park or even parking lot—who are trying to simply boost their odds of making online sales.
Whoa. That may very well qualify as the longest sentence I have written this semester. But I digress.
Tumblr media
It is fair conclusion jumping to agree that the kitchens being accused of such chicanery are just being smart. They can try different price points, names, and a slew of other marketing variables, without having to actually create new products. And they are betting that most consumers will never notice. Just imagine, though, a Little Caesars—for example—also selling Bigga Pizza Pies, but they all come out of the same oven with the same crust, sauce, mozzarella, and toppings. Could you tell? And would you even care?

Uber Eats, et al., all want to make money, to be fair, but they do not want their service to be scammed like this. Getting two listings is little different form somehow managing to wrangle two display ads in a newspaper when you bought one, or any number of other of duplicative examples.
But wait, there’s more! Uber is also raising the bar on those it does list, requiring each establishment to have at least a 4.3 out of 5 rating on their app, have fewer than five-percent of orders canceled, and have fewer than five-percent delivery and order errors.
Thus far, Uber has removed more than 5000 entities it attests are simply clones of their parent, finding, in one instance, that a New York deli had 14 such clones under its umbrella. Can you imagine submitting 14 resumes for a job, each with a different name, but the person were the same? Shakespeare said a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but that doesn’t work so well in job hunting or restaurant listings.
Uber says, though, it counts 40,000 virtual listings. Its internal police department is going to have its hands full enforcing its latest policy decision.
I know. You’ve probably already started thinking of a new hack in the wake of Uber clamping down. Why not simply give different names and/or plating variations so that the items are still pretty much the same, but look different on your screen? That would likely be easy. Imagine a meal of the Monster Burger and French Fries also being listed under a different brand as the Hamburger Monstre and pomme frites. Pretty much the same thing, but one sounds so cosmopolitan and worldly.
I’m pretty sure the ghost kitchens are already preparing their workarounds, because that’s the way we all roll. The spoils go to those who can hack the best. Meanwhile, just be careful placing your food orders. You might just be a victim as well. I can see that international burger fetching a higher price tag if only because it uses French words.
And I can imagine you looking like a ghost when you find out you’ve been duped, too.
