One day I was sitting at my 6th grade class bored out of my mind, then I had the idea to play music in my head to pass the time. I haven't been able to turn it off since.

Here’s some positivity for systems with paracosms!
A paracosm is a detailed, often deeply complex imaginary world, usually created during childhood. For many systems, their paracosms last well into adulthood and play a key role in how their system functions! This post is for all the systems with paracosms out there!
💭 Shoutout to systems who have been developing their paracosm ever since they were very young!
💕 Shoutout to systems who are paragenic, or whose plurality stems directly from or is inherently connected with their paracosm!
💭 Shoutout to systems who love their paracosms and spend a lot of time exploring and adventuring in it!
💕 Shoutout to systems whose paracosms are maladaptive or who formed as a result of maladaptive daydreaming or some other disorder!
💭 Shoutout to systems who have always had a paracosm for as long as they can remember!
💕 Shoutout to systems whose paracosm serves as their headspace or innerworld!
💭 Shoutout to systems who are mostly made up of paratives, imagians, or other paracosm-based headmates!
💕 Shoutout to systems who developed their paracosm as a result of trauma, abuse, loneliness, isolation, bullying, or neglect!
💭 Shoutout to systems who make art, stories, or other creative works based on or inspired by their paracosms!
💕 Shoutout to systems whose paracosm was created fairly recently, or who are actively working on building and expanding their paracosm!
Paracosms can serve very important roles and functions for all sorts of people, and systems are no exception! Whether your paracosm plays a key role in your system, or is a minor aspect of your life, please know that there is nothing wrong with having a paracosm at any age!
We hope you and your system can continue to find joy in your paracosm, and can accept it as an important part of you! Remember that as long as you and your system benefit from your paracosm, then it is a good thing for your system. Your paracosm is your business alone, and other people don’t get to decide whether or not it’s healthy or harmful for you. Please continue to take care of yourselves, and have a great day!

(via RFK Jr.’s Conspiracy Theories Finally Get Around to the Jews)
At a dinner this week, reported by the New York Post, Kennedy floated a theory about the origins of COVID-19 that is even more unhinged than his previous theories:
We’ve put hundreds of millions of dollars into ethnically-targetted microbes. The Chinese have done the same thing. In fact, COVID-19, there is an argument that it is ethnically targeted. COVID-19 attacks certain races disproportionately … because of the genetic structure, genetic differential of different races, of the receptors. COVID-19 is targeted to attack Caucasians and black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese. We don’t know whether it was deliberately targeted or not but there are papers out there that show the racial or ethnic differential and impact.
So Kennedy’s theory is that somebody may have designed a virus that spares Chinese people and Jews, using the secret field of “ethnically-targeted microbes” that Kennedy is onto, but which never gets discussed in public. (Estimates suggest at least a million Chinese citizens died from COVID-19, but we can assume Kennedy rejects those as fake.) Kennedy adds modestly that he has not yet determined whether this aspect was deliberate or not.
Blaming Jews for pandemics is a longer tradition. During the Middle Ages, Christians blamed Jews for the Bubonic Plague.

Southern Aspenia in 160 ACC
Tumblr media
I'm trying out representing geographic features on my maps. But I feel like it looks a bit messy.
Most of Aspenia's territory is covered in a dry sandy desert, especially the section that was south of the Pelgriece Canyon. This region is harsh but has long served as an essential place for travellers to pass through. The desert was a better alternative to climbing through the Cethoks, over the surrounding highlands, and through the wilds of western Montethé.
The main trade route from northern Norphendra to the south of the continent was established through Aspenia and the Inpent Desert. The trail connected the dots between the oases of Clos Vin, Clos Mor, and the largest oasis at Clos Ein. But most importantly the route went over the Arch of Turrice, the only crossing point of the Pelgriece Canyon.
This trade corridor was the main factor behind Aspenia's earlier success and garnering of wealth. Some of the 12 ruling families can trace their origin of power to the beginning of the trade route.
Some of the features on the map:
Pelgriece Canyon: Largest canyon on Hessdalen.
Pelgrohve Mountains: A mountain range mostly situated in Mohvesto.
Cethok Mountains: The tallest mountain range on Hessdalen. Trecherous to pass through.
The Great Dunes of Rynnia: A section of the desert covered in immense sand dunes that form towering ridges of pure powdery sand.
Nevence Depression: A large section of the Inpent Desert that is below sea level. A former lake.
Other points:
Next to the Aspenian flag is the symbol of the ruling family of Clos Ein, the oasis city being the most important in the region (rivaling Turrice).
The red highlighted borders show Aspenia's border with the Cazkanian controlled regions.
Aspenia is located in the heart of Norphendra, Hessdalen's largest continent.
Aspenia was an important power in the Early Ages, and was a major rival of the great Rusovian Empire.
The Aspenian caste system is strict. 12 families rule the country, and have ruled it since its inception. The wealth divide between them and the bottom classes is gargantuan.
Later in the year of 160, Aspenia would be attacked by Cazkania in a conflict that became known as the Aspenian War. This war was impactful in many ways, especially for some of my characters. I'll make another post about the invasion and go into more detail on its impacts.

I don't need other people to be happy. I don't like them at all, they take all the energy out of me. They make me angry, sad, hate myself more. All I really want and need is to live alone (or with my pet) in peace, with music, books and favorite movies. I want to focus on my own world, because only there I feel alive. And I don't think it's a bad thing to lock yourself in your own mind if it's your safe place. We're only a moment in time. In the end nothing matters at all. And "reality" is overrated.

So, hear me out...
What if Ao3 is secretly like the Wreck-it-Ralph digital universe?
All the hotels would only have single rooms. Coffee shops would be universally recognized as sanctuary locations. No-one understands the word "crossover" in the way fish don't comprehend "water."
Yeah, yeah, I'm ignoring all the rampant sexual activity, but each maturity rating is probably it's own area, mostly isolated from the others. Occasional spillover happens, but everyone just deals.
And just like with Wreck-It-Ralph, the characters are aware of being manipulated by outside forces.

I decided when I was a kid of 11 or 12 that adults were boring and sad because they had forgotten to use their imagination. I was determined to never forget mine. I never entirely did. It’s the reason I still write fictional stories, read novels, and love to watch fantasy and sci fi TV. It’s also the reason I don’t always hit it off with other adults. Stories are the epitome of the human experience. Imagination is the door to empathy. Hang onto them even if your job is boring and your life is starting to fall apart. When it hurts, imagination helps you get through.

« Les Monstres »
The boorish king with the mad expanses of power is dying in his delirious absurdity.
he frustrates the world and his little empty noggin echoes his stupidity and his filthy and false truth.
Yours the king, my father goes and does not come back because the pitfalls on my way are only the traces in my life where you have passed.
Without tenderness, excited as quickly as possible, throw themselves on the bewildered, almost dead, poisoned, and disenchanted.
And from the lunar star extinguish the petals of the bond of paternity, which accompany us in the disillusioned fall. I say goodbye to you while keeping the bitterness of who you are. and memories buried in oblivion farewell

World building (a very basic guide)
Recently, I've been really interested in the process of world building. I started creating my first imaginary world years ago and (even though it's not finished yet because I am lazy) found the experience really entertaining.
I thought I should share the process I follow in order to create the bases of a whole imaginary country. I've reduced all the mental process to a 4-step guide. Of course, this is just how I do it and there are tons of other ways, which are equally valid.
Keep in mind that these are just the first steps, and there is so much more about world creation that comes after.
1. First of all, choose a name for your country and a time period.
You can invent its name - come up with a strange word! - or use another name for reference. For example, one of my countries is named Makērnia, which is a non-existent word that I came up with. Another one is named Silvanda and you can see that I used the word "Silver" as reference. Perhaps the most obvious one is a city I named Iboria, clearly influenced by the name Iberia.
Write down that name and pay attention to how it sounds. That will be the first step in creating your country's language - if you plan on doing so.
Note: It is important that you CHECK that the name of your country does not have any bad meanings in other languages. I'm talking from experience here.
Now you want to decide the time period your country is based on.
Is it a medieval country? A futuristic one? 18th centur-ish? Keep in mind that you can also imagine your own way of measuring time. Instead of "before Christ" and "after Christ", try coming up with your own system.
The time period will be very important when creating the customs and traditions of the people and the organisation of the country, as well as many other things. So think carefully about this one.
2. Start imagining the geography.
This is probably my least favourite part, but it is just as necessary as the others. What I do is draw a shape, imitating how frontiers between countries look like.
I would say that the crucial question would be whether your country is next to the sea or not. This will influence economy and you will probably need to pay attention to those regions on the coast, as they will have different traditions, different climate and so on.
Think about how big your country is. Is it a small nation? Is it enormous?
Is it an island, a peninsula?
Note: Smaller countries are always more easy to organise and people from different regions within them are likely to be more similar to each other. The problem with big countries is that you'll have to provide the inhabitants with a series of traditions that might be completely different depending on the region.
You can also include something that is very particular of your country. Again, when I created Makērnia, I thought that it should have an enormous forest around the capital city.
Give your country rivers, lakes, mountains and everything you want to. And always remember that this will affect the territories near them.
3. Organisation and political power
Every country needs and way of organising territory. Here again you can look up references from real life or invent a new system (although I understand that inventing a whole new system is especially difficult in this part).
Personally, I got my inspiration from the Roman empire, but you can use whatever real-life country you want to for reference. You can divide land into provinces, regions, districts, etc.
Same goes for political power. If you have decided to make your country a medieval one, chances are you will implement a monarchy - or not! This is your country, do whatever you feel expresses its essence best. You can experiment if you want (try an anarchic country, for example).
4. General traits, flag, emblems, capital city.
Here, you can ask yourself: "What are the people like in ----?"
Try thinking about a crowded city in your country. Do the people have anything in common? This can range from mere physical traits (most of them may be blonde, have a particular skin colour, etc.) to more abstract concepts or stereotypes (the people are brave, knowledgeable, always serious, etc.)
This will be useful to create a general image of the country and build up its traditions and customs. For example, in a country where the people are more carefree, a crime might be punished less severely than in a country where the people are serious and cold.
Note: This is the time to start considering different races - and not necessarily human races, you can include any fantasy race you feel like. Write down any ideas you have regarding this, as you will need to develop it later.
Give your country some symbols and a flag.
The flag is optional, but I would heavily recommend choosing at least a symbol for the country. Think about what the inhabitants might feel a connection with. In my case, I choose white roses as the symbol of Makērnia. The word "māker" in the local language actually means "rose", so it made perfect sense to build up a whole culture around roses.
Symbols can range from animals, plants and natural elements to colours with meaning. And of course it must be coherent with the time period. You cannot symbolise a medieval country with an emblem of a train - and the same goes for a futuristic country, which will difficultly be represented with swords or castles.
Choosing a capital city is important, as it will probably become the centre of your country.
At this stage, you can just come up with a name and then mark the city in the map. Keep in mind that you will need to develop this and other important cities around the country.
Note: By "capital city" I mean a principal, most important location in your country. Not necessarily where the central power is.
Now you have a very basic and general idea of what your country will be like.
As I said before, this is JUST THE BASICS I USE when I build a new world. These steps help me understand what type of place it is and how I should proceed with the more complex steps.
I hope somebody finds this useful. I'd love to hear about your countries :)
