you know how myth sometimes bleeds into speech with little phrases or descriptors, but with how long it has been since the creation of those words and phrases people no longer think of them as relating to mythology?

do you think narnians had those in relation to the pevensies, these sayings and descriptors and whatnot that ultimately relate back to the golden age, but it’s been so long that they don’t even know it anymore, it’s just a simple saying? 

a red sunrise is known as rock’s rage, lavender is also known as kissing gentle, the first flowers to break through snow are called valiance, every counsel has a two-sword sigil or similar custom around silver because it’s become the metal of justice. things like that. 

and then, after the pevensies return and they hear all these bits and pieces that didn’t exist back when they ruled. just how would that feel, to not only have your reign mythologised and worshipped, but to have become ingrained in speech to a point it has been stripped of meaning?
