PREDICTABLE FEELING (part three)

I'm planning to write another succession fic so yeyy im excited; it's more general, kendall, roman and shiv. So probably there will be something about it these week I hope.

note: I tried to make this ep the smutty one but I got carried away for something else,, so sorry you will have to wait for the next one I think 💀

summary: kendall suggested you should stay for the night after the party, but for that you'd have to tolerate the event before it's finished, and perhaps that could take a bad turn

You thought. Kept you excited, you are a pretty anxious person, can't wait all night to be alone with him again, but unfortunately you would have to play alone for today, pretending to hear what your co-workers been doing while having your mind elsewhere.

You've been walking around the place, trying to distract yourself, and see if you could spot kendall somewhere. Went from room to room, as you felt he was ignoring you, but you weren't trying to be a stalker, just, wanting to find out what was wrong, and you are an incredible observer to do that.

You finally spotted kendall, right at the corner of the bar, pretty well hidden you could say. However you noticed he was talking with just the one. you gotta be kidding me. His ex was having a fun conversation with the man, as it appeared; lots of smiling here and then, grinning ear to ear, you didn't have to be a pro at observing corporal language to understand that they were flirting. You felt a little disappointed, his ego was bigger than you thought, he must've feel so great when successfully seduced the desperate assistant, to then going after the ex, and feel like the greatest man in the world; you were not having that.

As you were watching them, kendall eyes glimpsed at your presence in the distance, staring at him from a far. You immediately looked the other way, it wasn't intentional, to make yourself look like lurker, you didn't want to him to catch you like that, the rejected lover, who didn't even get to base one with the man, so damn ridiculous. You got out of the room quickly as you could, and decided to leave the flat to then leave to yours.

In kendall's perspective, when he caught you looking, he knew he was kind of busted, and as soon as you started to leave the room, seeming a little heartbroken, he tried to chase you down, but unfortunately he lost you, since you were already gone. He could've follow you down, but he gave up, feeling so stupid for his own actions. Felt he had it all under control.

He was beat, didn't feel all the party vibes at the moment, so he went straight to his bed, feeling a little broken. Roman caught him going away, in a way that feels suspicious. "wow, the party man it's leaving his own party, what you have there? some fresh lines waiting for you?" As always roman being so charming. "just- just leave it man okay? not today." Kendall was done with himself he couldn't keep hearing roman's daily teasing. "woah, um you okay bro? I mean I don't wanna get into it all but-." Ken chuckles mid conversation. "yeah, of course you don't." he lays down on his bed, and put his hand over his front head, as he would have q terrible headache. "I messed up, rome." As he exhales out of exhaustion and confesses. "you fucking it up? not a surprise honestly." Kendall continued not caring a bit what roman's being saying, as he's used of it. "You warned me, I suppose, and I didn't listen." Roman stayed put, deciphering what could be kendall talking about, and then it hit him. "oh my god, her?" Fully surprised by the situation but overly amused by his confession, kendall nodded to his question. Roman starts laughing. "I gotta tell someone, shiv! she's gonna love this-" Shiv magically appears right after roman talked about her. "uuh, what's going on? I saw you and roman coming in here, what happened?" Shiv sees both kendall, looking like a sad puppy, and roman, who was about to burst with laughter. "guess who was gonna get bent over today by the world champion here?" Roman was so excited to let shiv know the most humiliating news for kendall. "roman I don't wanna know what kendall's up to, sincerely, but... her? your...?" intending to be you. Ken again nodded. "yeah... (sighs) you're correct." Shiv put her hand over her mouth, to contain any loud laughter that could come out of her to try to be civilized about this. "oh, ken..." slightly chuckles but instantly it wears off. "it hasn't been a day yet... and you already fucked it?" Shiv still seemed a little unserious, but the question was genuine. "what happened?" Shiv calmly asks, as she gently sits down on the bed, next to kendall; Kendall does the same and lifted his way up, to have him now sitting next to shiv. Roman rolled his eyes, the warm heart to heart moments weren't his style, but he kept quiet, and sat down too, on the other side of the bed. Then kendall started to tell about it. "I promised, well, kind of... to meet up with her, later on, but I got distracted with..." Kendall pauses but shiv understood it. "oh her?" Talking about kendall's ex in an obvious matter. "yeah, she's here too... and it was wrong, I betrayed someone, once more." Ken closes his eyes, feeling remorseful, and shiv tries to cheer him up after having eye contact with roman, both seeing kendall, feeling worried. "now dude, I know she's very shy and stuff, but we're adults, and shit can happen, you couldn't help it ken..." Kendall turn his head to shiv slowly. "when you're an adult it doesn't mean you can't be a good and decent person, shiv, but maybe you didn't know that." Shiv attitude changes right after kendall's attack after her. "woah, okay, first of all, you can't come up me like that-" both of them start fighting each other, on voice on top of the other, while roman was watching the whole thing, on silence but annoyed by it all. "okay, okay! you guys..." kendall and shiv looked straight at roman. "you starting to sound just like mommy and daddy." Roman starts fake crying and then stopped his teasing to have his middle finger shown to them, as usual. "bye bye, you morons." Roman closed the door and leaves kendall and shiv still together. Shiv tries to focus back on, looks at ken, seeming hot-tempered. "if you think... that the girl is going to be a liability, then she shouldn't be working for us any longer." She walks away from the bedroom and leaves. Kendall is now alone again, with his thoughts.

As for you, just have arrived to your place, not trying to think about all that mess from earlier, you were alone as well with your thoughts, thinking how any of this was a good idea, playing around like this with your job on the line, yes, it does pay really well, but if something like this was already troubling your mental health, perhaps it's not really that worth it. You were decided, you took out your phone, but then stopped for a second, started to reflect, maybe you were making a decision too quickly out of just jealousy, that you'll probably regret after. You tried to calm yourself, breathe in and out, everything will be fine, and you will need to keep kendall out of your mind and start looking somewhere else-

Your phone starts buzzing, and who could it be, it's Kendall luckily. You were just reflecting about your life because of Kendall and then starts calling you out of nowhere just when you had your phone on your hands. are there cameras here? You started to get paranoid just a tiny bit. You determinedly hit the answer button, ready to have a conversation. "hello Kendall." pretty unbothered. "oh hey... I think we need to-" You didn't give him a chance to even start it. "this is how it's gonna go, I stay as your assistant, or even someone elses? roman, tom, anyone... but that's all I'll ever be here, I won't be a little toy for you to play around, and for so long..." You feel like starting to break a little. "we've been friends for so many years, and you treat me like this... I should be quitting actually, but I won't have it... now that I think about it, you really are deserving of your name, kendall roy." You hear nothing but his silence on the other side, but hoping actually he would say something, however you knew he wouldn't, and let you be more infuriated by it. "tomorrow, ill be back, and everything will be back to normal, but you get to be the kendall roy you were always meant to be.

Right after you hung up, you thought that maybe you went a little too far; if they decide to fire you, it's probably for the better, but if not, you get on with your life, doing what you always have been doing, being an assistant.

After hunging up on Kendall, he was nothing but devastated, couldn't believe he can't even hold onto someone he cares about on just day one. He was believing that everything he does, touch, etc. tends to fail for him. Flirting with his ex, was a mistake, and in vain, she wouldn't get back with him, ever. He was fighting loneliness at the moment, but you, you were used to it, you had yourself and you thought that was enough; on the contrary, kendall was just getting started, couldn't bare the fact he was that close on having you later that night, since he can't keep it in his pants, ruined it.

He went straight to bed, party was over, but you didn't want to sleep just yet, there was something else you needed to do first. You grabbed your phone and started writing.

Sorry to bother you Mr roy, but I wanted to discuss something with you, maybe about a transfer. I'll be glad if you get to answer this, if not, I'll be there trying to contact you more often to get this matter to your attention. I'll be patiently waiting for your reply. Thank you.

You sent the e-mail, and went to sleep right after it. You thought you'd be sleeping horribly, not only because of the whole Kendall thing, but also thinking about working for roman would leave you apprehensive, but turns out, you're sleeping like an angel.

Roman was heading to his place after the party. He was sitting at the back of the range rover, when suddenly his phone buzzed. "g-mail? who the fuck sends e-mails nowadays?... and who is-..." Roman's eyes opened wide when he read the username and as he started to read the mail as well. "holy shit, oh my god, Kendall is going to absolutely love this, fuck yeah." Roman wasted no time and got to it, wrote you back very quickly. He was more than happy with your decision, as he put back his phone back in his pocket, and kept on smiling. "tomorrow will be a fucking interesting day"

Frieren Review (Ep 1 - 3)

This anime is really pretty o_o

For the first time in a while, I decided to put myself first and chose to watch an anime. I haven't done that in a while, and for good reason. But when I heard about the concept of Frieren, a elf girl who comes to outlive all those remotely close to her and how she processes it, I was intrigued. From the perspective of someone who does age, in a world that s constantly changing, we find ourselves in amazement or awe of the things' that don't change, oddly enough. Greek statues are finely crafted, and present stoic images of that period and remain forever unchanged since they lost their color. The infamous painting of Madame X will forever have a snatched waist and one loose strap, and Keanu Reeves looked the same ten years ago then as he does today. Which is the reaction Frieren's comrades have when they see she hasn't changed at all when she's remained the same over nearly 80 years.

how did Himmel go from being taller than Frieren to half her height?

While the first episode was slow to start, I was glad that they got to the inital premise fairly quickly. And I was further surprised that what our protagonist who was shaping up to be a generic Kuudere, turned out to have layers, as we see when one of the group members dies and she can be seen sobbing, or when she decides to take on her first apprentice in Fern despite being hesitant to do so in the first place at the end of the first episode. From the 2nd episode onwards we get to explore these themes in greater depth, such as when we see how Frieren processes time differently than that of most humans. Her lifespan alone should prevent her from making any close human connections, but what oddly makes her human is her desire to try after failing to do so with the only people who got to know her despite her not getting to know them.

Im really excited to see where things goes, as I have been away from anime discourse for quite some time, and while I know now that this anime and its manga were pretty popular even before now, I came across this pretty organically, and without recommendation or through AniTuber videos. Ill be taking my time with this one, and in terms of anime, the next thing im looking forward to is the Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beast's anime which should be dropping soon right?

His reaction to this storyline is everything. Factually, false accusations are incredibly rare and yes, it’s a double-whammy for boys. The other part of this storyline I hate? Is that Claire is right to believe her kid. So rarely do parents believe their kids and go to the police, when they should. I hate hate hate this storyline with a passion. I get why it happens (Justin still believing in Brian and doing whatever needs to be done to clear his name) but FFS CowLip why why why do you have to create a narrative around a false accusation?

OKAY IM ACTUALLY GONNA POST MY OPINIONS ON THE NEW ONE PIECE

TLDR: VERY VERY VERY GOOD JUST FEW DISLIKES

SO first I'm gonna talk about what I didn't like so I can end with the good stuff, cause I do think it was really good! And I actually do hope for more! Also these are subject to change as I just watched all the eps and once with friends and we excitedly talked over quite a bit of it plus it was a bit of a blur

OKAY first problem I had was there didn't feel like there was a really good stand up moment for us usopp in syrup village arc, in the original he had that moment where he was getting torn to shreds literally brought to the brink of death, and he still kept standing up to defend Kaya and the village, and it didn't feel like he got that moment at all really, which was both strange and sad to me, plus with no Jango he didn't get to save the day at all (also mini add on, I agree with moon paws post, with merry dead it felt really weird to just leave Kaya on her own, especially since we didn't meet anyone else in the village like the kids)

The next thing is, well, while I actually liked a lot of the changes they made from the source material (especially in syrup village, despite my major complaint with it) a LOT of the changes made to Arlong Park I really didn't like. The village not knowing her secret, showing her fight with belimeir before literally any other part of their relationship, some of the Fishman stuff, and a few others I can't think of rn, idk I feel like this arc hurt the most from not getting enough time yknow? Like I really didn't feel the emotional impact I felt from originally reading and watching this arc (aqlso another mini add on is no hatchi which was surprising)

One neutral thing before we get into the good is tho there was a lot of fun and silliness, at times this felt like a gritty reboot with the gore and killing and cutting of comic relief characters, part of that I liked and part I didn't, and I know it comes from not having enough time and not having as much suspension of disbelief to play with with it being live action

OKAY NOW TO GUSH ABOUT THE GOOD!!! First is the AMAZING fucking sets and costumes and casting!!! All of the places felt unique and true to their source, the world felt amazing and colorful, with the only thing I can compare it to being speed racer live action movie (tho it wasn't quite that colorful), the costumes were all so fun to see the characters in, and all the actors did so well! I think just about every character we all had a moment where we went "wow [insert characters actor here] is SOO good!" All their interactions were so perfect too! Ugh! Amazing!

And this is rare but most of the changes to the source material I actually really enjoyed! All the added stuff with garp and koby and helmepo was really really good character work, and good showing of the navy system and values and the worldview of the individuals within it. The changes to sanjis character I actually really liked, where he's a bit warmer, and not a sex pest but just more a sap I thought was done really well, along with all the zoro sanji interaction. I thought a lot of the syrup village changes were really well done, as much as I like Jango the cat brothers actually worked really well, and I ADORED the interactions with the crew and Kaya and I fucking ate up the scene where they're getting chased around by Kuro. I'm sad the kreig pirates got phased out but I did enjoy their fight with Hawkeye a lot, and I understand why they did what they did. All the changes to the characters also felt natural and they still felt like themselves yknow? OH ALSO all the buggy stuff was so good!!! Having his head along was so perfect and fun! It was just amazing, amazing show everyone involved should be proud!!

Getting paired up on a mission with Gojo was rare, extremely rare, so it could never be good news when you were, you both knew that, but it didn’t stop either you to be excited about getting some alone time. Well, an old hospital full of curses wasn’t really the ideal date spot, but as long as you were together you were content.

“Let’s get rid of these curses quickly and then go on a real date!!” Your boyfriend said while swinging your intertwined hands.

“We have to go back as soon as we’re done Satoru, we have things to do.” You chuckled at the man-child standing next to you.

“But love we haven’t gone on a date in sooooo long. They won’t know, we can just say the mission took longer than expected!” He whined which only made you laugh harder.

“We will see how the mission goes and how well you behave.” Your last comment earned you a gasp from the oversized puppy you called your boyfriend.

“Let’s go, it should be here.” You said, the abandoned hospital coming into view.

Once at the entrance Gojo and you decided that it would be wiser to split up in order to be more efficient.

“And like this we can finish faster and go on this date we both deserve!” was what your boyfriend exclaimed right before making his way down one of the corridors.

While Gojo was covering the first floor you decided to make your way to the top one. Everything was rather calm, maybe a bit too calm, but you wouldn’t complain, deep down you really wanted to finish this mission fast and go on this date. But suddenly a whimper made you stop dead in your tracks, you whipped your head towards the sound only to be met with nothing but darkness. You waited to see if you would hear it again and decided to start walking again when you didn’t. You made your way to the next floor, starting to find it weird that no curse manifested itself yet, it was quite strange. Walking through the corridor you couldn’t help the chills that made their way up your neck. Something felt off but you couldn’t pinpoint what.

When you were about to reach the next staircase, you heard a sound again, but this time it sounded more like a cry, a human one. You didn’t think twice before dashing towards the sound’s source, not wanting it to disappear again. You violently opened the door only to be met with a bloodcurdling scene, a child helplessly trying to get out of the grip of a curse, while the bloody body of a dead one was laying down on the ground. Upon hearing you the curse tighten its grip around the child’s body, making the little girl hiss in pain.

“Help me, please help me.” She cried out, her eyes fixated on you.

“Don’t worry, you will be okay.” You told her, taking a step forward only to stop again after the curse started tightening its grip again, almost choking the girl.

“Okay, I won’t hurt you, but you need to let her go.” You resigned and tried to bargain with the curse who only wickedly smiled at you.

The distress of the little girl was only growing seeing that the grip of the curse wasn’t loosening up, each of her plea going straight through your heart. You sneakily tried to take a step towards the both of them but the curse saw right through you and brought its hand towards the kid’s neck, as if to warn you of what it would do if you dared coming closer. Reluctantly you stopped making the child scream in terror, her begging intensifying.

“I promise you will get out of here sweetheart, okay? Trust me, it won’t hurt you, I’ve got you.” You told her, smiling softly at her in hope to ease her mind.

You couldn’t let this child die, you had to find a way to save her, no matter what it would cost you. Bargaining with a curse was a lost cause you knew it, they are devoid of conscience, yet you still tried, you needed to. The curse was barely a grade 3, you could take it out easily but before you could do anything you had to find a way to make it let go of the girl, you couldn’t risk hurting her.

“What about making an exchange? Me against her?” You offered, but the curse only snickered, as if it was mocking you.

Your blood was starting to boil, you wanted to punch this bastard across the face so badly, but before you could even make a move, you felt it, the immense cursed energy right behind you, one that you immediately recognised as a special grade. You took a deep breath and slowly turned around, your guts were right, right there stood a special grade curse, viciously smiling at you. You made a move ready to hit the curse with your technique only to be abruptly stopped by the little girl’s muffled cries, you whipped your head back towards her and the weaker curse to find that it was now choking her. The special grade curse used your moment of inattention to slam you against the wall with such force that it knocked the wind out of you. It had you pinned against the wall, one hand wrapped around your throat, you could barely move and you knew that if you even tried the other curse would hurt the kid. The special grade brought its face closer to yours, clearly enjoying your current situation. Staring right into your eyes, it slowly raised its hand before stabbing you right in the stomach. The pain made you cried out, wishing you could rip its head off and make it suffer just as much as you were right now, instead you turned your head towards the kid hoping she was still alive. She was wiggling, crying, and screaming, well at least you think she was. If you had to be honest you couldn’t really hear anything anymore, your consciousness slowly slipping away. You could feel the hand of the special grade still deep inside your stomach, blood spilling on it and slowly dripping down staining the ground beneath you.

“It’s okay sweetheart, you’re okay.” You weakly said, trying to reassure the child as best as you could. “You’re strong, we will get out of here.”

“Help me, please hel-” She was unexpectedly cut off, the silence around you suddenly deafening, and before you could even realise what happened the special grade’s head went flying, its body falling numb on the floor, and its hands releasing their hold on you, causing you to collapse.

“Hey baby please stay with me, okay? I need you to stay awake, don’t fall asleep on me.” You heard your boyfriend’s voice.

“Hm, ‘Toru?” You managed to let out.

“That’s right love, now please stay with me, don’t close your eyes.” He said, gently caressing your cheek with his thumb. “I will take you to Shoko, but I need you to stay with me until then, don’t you dare fall asleep.”

“The girl, you need to save the girl.” You croaked out, scanning the room the best you could in search of the little girl, praying she was safe and sound.

“I did, she is okay. I will take you both to Shoko and then I will take her back home, okay?” Your boyfriend explained to you, to which you only nodded in response, way too tired to speak anymore.

You felt Gojo pick you up, trying his best to apply pressure on your wound so you wouldn’t lose too much blood, you weakly smiled at him before your eyes closed and sleep took you despite your boyfriend’s cries of protest.

Gojo’s steps were urgent, he didn’t have time to lose, he needed to take you to Shoko as soon as possible. Once her office was in sight he started walking even faster, as if it was possible. He didn’t bother even knocking, he barged in praying for the doctor to be here, and to his relief she was. Upon seeing her high school friend’s expression and your unconscious body in his arms, Shoko didn’t ask any question and guided him towards the nearest bed on which he laid you down. She signalled him with her head that she was going to take care of you and that he should leave for now. Reluctantly he stepped away from the bed before going back to the child he left outside the office.

Once he made sure that the little girl wasn’t injured in any way, he asked Ichiji to take her back to her house, and made his way back to Shoko’s office. Knowing his friend would scream at him to let her work in peace if he was to enter the room, Gojo decided to wait outside, praying you would be okay.

And after what felt like hours to him, pacing around the corridor anxiously waiting, Shoko finally came out to tell him you were okay and that he could come inside.

“They are still asleep but they will be okay.” The doctor said with a gentle smile.

“Thank you.” The teacher breathed, hugging his friend tightly before making his way to your bed, sitting down on the chair Shoko put there for him. He took one of your hand between his and brought it to his lips to lay a gentle kiss on top of it before laying his head down on the bed, patiently waiting for you to wake up.

You slowly stirred awake, the pain in your stomach still here but duller, you tried to bring your hand up to cover your eyes from the brightness of the room only to be met with a resistance. You turned your head towards it to find your boyfriend sleeping soundly with your hand in his. You brought your free one to his hair and slowly threaded through it, gradually waking him up. Realising what was happening Gojo shot his head up, his deep blue eyes frantically searching for yours and immediately relaxing once they met.

“Hey.” He whispered, his voice hoarse with sleep.

“Hi.” You replied.

“You scared me.” He continued, his thumb rubbing soft circles on top of your hand.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” You said, your hand still in his hair, affectionately rubbing his head.

“You didn’t even try to fight back, you could have killed them if you wanted to.” Gojo sighed, remembering the picture of you with the curse’s hand in your stomach.

“They were threatening the child, they would have killed them if I tried fighting back.” You explained.

“Still, I, I thought I was going to lose you. If I got there even a minute later, you might have died.” The white-haired man breathed heavily.

“But you didn’t, you saved me.” You smiled, sliding your hand down to cup his cheek, your thumb catching the tear that was threatening to fall. “You saved me.”

“Never do this again.” He said, nuzzling his head into your hand, and kissing it.

“I will try my best not to.” You answered before chuckling quietly.

“What is it?” Gojo asked with a soft smile on his face.

“I guess this mean our date is cancelled?” You laughed louder when your boyfriend snickered at your question.

“I think so yes, but we have all the time in the world to plan another one, and an even better one. Now scoot over, my back is hurting from sleeping in this position.” He gently pushed you on the other side of the bed before laying down, putting his arms around you and your head on his chest.

“Better?” You inquired the dumbest smile forming on your face.

“Much better.” He mumbled.

“I love you ‘Toru.” You yawned.

“I love you more angel.” He replied, kissing your forehead one last time before the two of you fell asleep, exhausted by your eventful day.

1. you know whats also bad about the red eyes? not only do they look awful on persephone's pink color, they're not even a unique feature? like we've seen hades' eyes go red, we've seen eros' eyes go red, and ares' eyes are ALWAYS red, so even this idea its her "unique queenly trait" doesnt even hold up?? because we've seen it on other characters before?like at least the blue glowing eyes looked unique and even gave her a possessed, otherworldly look, something with the red eyes just dont have.

2. The faces in the latest ep (not fastpass).... Ew

3. I saw someone praise lore olympus art, specifically the ones where Apollo is playing his lyre and Daphne is covering her ears while her hair is split in two (yuck! Bad decision looks awful) so we can see Apollo, the one where she transforms into her hibernation state (weird perspective, chin and neck, I think, also what the hell was that supposed to be?) and the last one before cutting to Thanatos (which, I admit looks a little better that the other but I still got distracted Apollo's arm among other things).

Now, Rachel is a professional artist like 15-25 years older than me (I dunno her age) drawing one of the most liked webtoons.

I feel like I'm nitpicking or being too harsh or crazy because I think it is a little terrible and this person thinks it's amazing and I know art is subjective and all but like the difference of opinion is jarring. I am by no means a professional and my art leaves a lot to be desired and I guess I don't have incredibly high standards (or do I? I'm second guessing). Is it really that good?

Because I know that Smythe commits more than a few anatomy atrocities. I wanted to redraw a few panels two years ago and I noticed a few things that Don't Work Like That.

4. ok but that other anon is right. we shouldnt have to go off old tumblr asks or random tweets to understand what's going on and who the characters are. rachel doesnt realize you have to actually write whats going on, not putting the readers on a scavenger hunt trying to figure out what they're even reading.

5. im honestly surprised LO hasnt ruined more mother figures at this point. maybe maia will be next and depicted as neglectful and hermes is only the way he is because hes acting out to be noticed by her, maybe dione will slut shame aphrodite, who knows, the possibilities are endless when its about ruining every mother figure to prop persephone and hera up and to avoid giving the characters actual personalities that isnt dependent on mommy/daddy issues.

6. I hate the clothing choice for Daphne in run for your life. It felt like she was drawn in a sexualized manner when she shouldn’t have been because she was running away from a r*pist. Like she almost had a nip slip, we almost got her ass, it was like Rachel was trying to fit her butt and chest in a lot of the frames like some video game with the token woman character. Like if a different dress was choosen or how she made Daphne tie the dress, I just feel like Rachel can’t draw outside of pinup sexy that well. Like sexy is fine for sexy scenes but running away from a r*pist is not sexy. (I probably sounded really lame, but the way Rachel presents the story in a feminist way but can only draw one way in not even the same style is annoying)

7. Things I think would have been better for the story instead of focusing so much on HXP

-Expanding on Minthe’s and Hades beginning of their relationship (he couldn’t of fallen for her since she didn’t laugh at him and when she yelled at him said it’s not your fault but you have the hat I think that would have added to his character more to see him more than a 40 year old who hits on barely legal)

-Leto’s kidnapping of Demeter. Both we/are close with Hera, and probably know or each other or may have been friends. Like I wanna know how Leto kidnapped her but also how are they interacting since they probably know each other and Demeter probably had Hera’s back when Hera ended their friendship.

-Ares return to Aphrodite. We don’t get to see much of her character but we know this is something she’s wanted, but they way it was handled was so flat, We assume Aphrodite told Ares that his gf slept with his father to save their son but we don’t actual read any words between the couple. And then they’re living together. I wanna see how they actually interact and stay together like their better moments. Like how well did he settle in, did they talk about how long he left for or is he mad like come on that’s something interesting but I feel like RS can’t write outside of HXP

-the deal with Echo. Why do people think Echo could possibly be Hera’s gf if she’s her assistant. Yeah they do dirty work together BUT I didn’t get a wiff or sexual tension or anything. Was it that she was there with the doctor? It just seems like Hera is that CEO trope who has the assistant always by her now.

-a little more of Pysche and Aphrodite friendship. Like Pysche says Aphrodite is lonely (and we can assume a part of that is Ares) but also because she “doesn’t have many friends” so why not a solo scene of just the two of them being actual friends. Like what did Aphrodite say when she brought back a purple nymph that was gonna help them with their work.

-Hermes not talking about Persephone. I feel like that 99% of what his character is and then just a little bit of himbo. 

-Maybe Thantos and Minthe started flirting/hooking up. We’re they friends first or flirts first? Was it after Hades and Minthe got into a fight or something else? What did Thantos like about Minthe and what does she like about him? Why did she stay with Hades with Thantos was there (it’s not like she wanted to be queen of the underworld) How did Thantoas and Thetis meet and become friends? Idk if I was seeing two guys and one of them actually liked my friend I might consider leaving Hades for him. But again hades did have the power to control everything in Minthe’s life (job, home, everything) I do like Daphne and Thantos But I feel like the transition could have been better if we knew more, but again RS can only focus on one thing and that’s HXP.

8. FP SPOILERS— I’m done. I’m really done. We called it. We FKN called it. They got married behind the readers back, Demeter didn’t respond to the question as she actively avoided it and time was up, Apollo is somehow involved in the trial- THIS WHOLE THING IS A MESS AND IM TIRED OF HOPING THAT IT GETS BETTER. Four FKN years of this??? I’m done with this Webtoon even though I’m FKN stuck in it. I’m so FKN done.

Fast Pass spoiler (kinda) OH MY GOD, I JUST REALIZED THE POMEGRANATE PIN IS JUST PASTED ON EVERY FRAME, NOT EVEN RE DRAWN FOR PERSPECTIVE, NO, JUST COPIED AND PASTED, REGARDLESS THE OUTFIT ANGLE AND LIGHTING, IT'S HILARIOUS!!!I mean, I knew the art was decaying, but this just made me laugh out loud of how bad it looked.

Sigh. Im actually quite disappointed though. I was really hoping to see Sakura henshin. I saw Kamen Rider Jeanne pictures floating around on twitter. I assumed it was a screenshot or something and I thought "Oh wowowowo shes finally henshin!" But well, i guess they show how her design look like in the preview. Just another week of waiting for me 😔

Anyway, apart from that. I know this kinda too early but would you have any idea or theory on who gave the driver to Sakura? I thought it would be the Deadmans but it seems that its not them. Even Karizaki look surprised. But idk if his surprise is "Wait theres another driver i dont know of???" or "How that driver got to her? Did someone steal it from me???"

Damn cant wait for ep 12 dammit. Im sure it would be hella cool when the Igarashi trio henshin together 😆😆😆 (also, Hiromi scene is so few in ep 11 🥲)

Hmm... well, unlike you, I actually thought they wouldn’t show her actual henshin that quickly. It’s not that unusual for a debuting Rider to be teased transforming in previews, only for the episode to abruptly end before the actual transformation, or right after, before we can see them in action.

I think that whoever gave Sakura her Driver is a 3rd party who somehow also had access to the Vistamp tech. Possibly someone who would make the Riders question Fenix’s true intentions.

After all, George hasn’t been forthcoming about what he needs those 10 special Vistamps for, and the way he dealt with the Daiji/Kagerou situation is especially shady. You would think a Rider fan would make sure the Driver they created would make a person a hero and not, you know, unleash a demon that would take over them. And Wakabayashi just letting run amok with his experiments is just as suspicious.

Also... it’s unlikely that George’s dad worked on the Vistamp project alone, so it could be a former collaborator who developed his own collection and somehow singled Sakura out as a user.

It could be connected to how the Ushijima fam seems to be observing the Igarashi fam, too. The son, who's in Sakura’s karate class, was conveniently the one who found her when she ran away from home. He even let her stay over at his place, which even Sakura seems to find odd for how barren it is.

As for Hiromi... well, it’s known that his actor, Junya Komatsu, is gonna star in a stage show early next year, so they may be downplaying his prominence in preparation for that. While I'm pretty sure he'll get written off in a way that will allow him to come back when he's done, that still means there's rather huge chunk of time he won't be available, since he'd be rehearsing for, and actually doing the stage show.

He’s not billed very highly in the crossover movie either, which is really weird for a Rider, tbh. I would have expected him at the same level as Ryo Aoki (who plays Kento/Espada, he's billed 4th for Saber cast), but the actors for George and the Deadmans precede him too.

before i get to giffing this week’s episodes..

i normally don’t do write-ups for baht oyunu or ada masalı but i just had some thoughts that i really wanted out of my head. this got a bit out of hand and became longer than i intended oops 😅 and ofc, beware of spoilers!

so this week’s episodes of both baht oyunu and ada masalı dealt with quite a lot of pain and heartbreak, which really put my shipper heart thru the wringer. but that’s what we get for clowning and investing as much as we do, right? 🤡

i really wanted to give a special shoutout to AM for finally having all the cards on the table.��a lot of the times with dizis they tend to drag out the miscommunication and lies to no end, but seeing them confront all the lies and deception in one go was so flippin’ refreshing. not to mention, that scene where haziran and poyraz were locked up in that hotel room and just hashing everything out.. that deserves all 👏 the 👏 awards👏 their acting was so well done, i had tears in my eyes by the end. 

and you know what? i also really appreciate that the writing gives haziran a lot of credit for trying to fix her mistakes and still wanting to stick around as opposed to her moping around and leaving the island out of self-pity, which is what we normally see. even just her locking both of them up in the hotel room just so she could have a chance to present her side of the situation was legendary behaviour, but for her to step out afterwards and claim her mark on this island, knowing she would be ostracized and heckled was the cherry on top. im HERE for this queen shit 👑 they really don’t write female characters like this so i'm just so excited that we’re going somewhere new that i personally haven’t experienced before in diziland.

also, thank god that 🐍 hakan got exposed for the lying cheat that he is as well. i was so worried that he would still get away with all his crimes and just blame it all on haziran, but he also got what was coming for him and i’m just so pumped about that. sure he got away by the end of the episode, but that ass-whooping was SO satisfying.

of course, the next couple episodes are gonna be pretty intense and filled with a lot of pain, but they’ve ripped off the bandaid at this point and now everything just has to settle down and heal. which means they can get back to falling in love without any more hurdles and lies!! what a win, right??? like honestly, as a viewer & fan, i feel respected in a sense bc they’re not wasting our time with any more intricate lies and we’re finally getting down to the bottom of things, we’re not beating around the bush anymore.

which leads me to baht oyunu..

trust me when i say i actually enjoyed this latest episode a lot, purely for the angst. but at some point, the can of worms has to come out, right? and the lies just keep piling up, there’s no end to it. the worst is that SO many ppl are becoming involved, right down to ada’s prof - who’s a real one btw - for not clarifying with bora that ada never graduated.

i hate to compare, but after seeing this week’s ep of AM, it’s hard not to wish for something similar to happen in BO bc as a viewer i’m starting to get confused about who’s in on all the lies and who’s not. as far as i can tell, the major lies seem to be that a) ada’s married - happily and b) ada graduated, but because of these lies, a lot of smaller lies have stemmed like selin being married. 

i know with a show like BO where everything is more light-hearted, we can’t expect the same sort of fallout like poyhaz had in AM but man it would be really cathartic. i just want all cards on the table, i want everything cleared up so that adbor can also move on and fall in love without anything burdening them. with the way the show has been going so far, i really thought they would be switching things up and having a confession earlier on, but i’m starting to think we’re gonna have to wait for it just like every other dizi. i hope to god i’m wrong tho. 

also, if we really think about it, why would bora even be personally affected by these lies? like she basically just lied on her resume and got the job, and is amazing at her job. if bora wasn’t already falling for her, would this really be that big of an issue to him? it shouldn’t matter, right? the most this would be is a breach of contract, a breach of trust, but the longer they drag it out, the more involved he becomes (unnecessarily). she didn’t exactly do him dirty by lying and getting the job, she got the job for her own means, not as a favour to him or anything.

the fragman for next week’s ep doesn’t really make me feel any better, but obviously i’ll still be around, esp to see jealous bora lol. idk, i just feel like it’s really unfair to both ada and bora’s characters to have all this be so dragged out, esp considering how much all this is weighing on ada's conscience and how supportive bora has been this whole time. 

bora continues to surprise me with how he's ALWAYS there for ada and notices the tiniest things about her. he's becoming one of my fav characters in any turkish dizi. which is why im equally as jumpy to see how exactly he would react when all the truths are exposed. i highly doubt he'll be as erratic as poyraz, he'll more likely be very emotional and disappointed. and he's been trying to connect the dots since the beginning instead of being totally blissful so when exactly do we get to see the outcome of that? atp im more impatient than he is for everything to be laid out 😅

all in all, these episodes were still fantastic and we better gear up for more pain coming our way before our mains get the peace and love they deserve 🥲 im gonna get to giffing tonight so if you have any requests pls hit me up (that is if any of you are still reading). also if you like these write-ups, i might do more in the future 😊

hey, bet you've got a whole bunch of asks just floating in out of your inbox like this already, buuut do you think you'll ever finish everlasting party? or even just do writing for the fandom again? your writing pieces were all so captivating and so beautifully characterized and JUST INCREDIBLE. even if you decide not to get back into writing it mind maybe giving some hints on how you planned for the story to go BECAUSE IM LITERALLY DYING TO KNOW. binge read the whole thing in one night and can't get over it!

You know, you’ve given me a great excuse to finally write a post about this anon, ‘cause I have a surprising amount to say on the topic ^^ But first, thank you so much for your kind words! I do look back fondly at the things I wrote for the Mystic Messenger fandom and I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed reading them as well.

So, here’s a Q&A-style answer to things I get asked about Everlasting Party and what I’m doing in the MysMe fandom nowadays (after the cut):

Why did you stop writing Everlasting Party?

At the time I believe I’d gotten rather overwhelmed with school work and decided to put off writing the next chapter until I felt like I had things better under control. Weeks turned into months, and because I hadn’t played Mystic Messenger in a while I started to doubt my ability to even finish the story I’d intended to tell. It became easier to just leave it “until I felt like coming back”.

But don’t worry too much about me - I’m doing pretty great nowadays, and I’ve even done a bunch of writing again in the last couple years (just not for MysMe, sadly).

Are you still in the MysMe fandom?

Yes, I am! I don’t post on here so much, but if you’ve been following my Mysterious Messenger posts at all (see the pinned post on this blog) you’ll know that I’ve been working on a Mystic Messenger-style engine since 2018. I tended to work on it in bursts throughout 2018 and early 2019 but for most of 2020 and all of 2021 I’ve been making daily updates to it adding new features, fixing bugs, and maintaining the code. It’s even got a novel-length wiki to go with it lol. I’m also collaborating with a group of people working on a free fangame that will use the engine.

Are you going to come back to Everlasting Party?

All right so this is actually a couple of questions in one. First, do I want to come back to EP? The answer is yes. It haunts me that I’ve left it unfinished and I sometimes get messages or comments about it and I want very dearly to have it finished so I don’t have this loose thread dangling about ^^;;

Will I come back to finish EP? I don’t have a concrete answer for this one because I hate making promises I can’t keep, but I’ll give you some information on my process for this:

I keep telling myself if I remake all the chatrooms for EP with my program (mentioned above), I have to finish writing EP.

I feel like I need to replay the games to re-familiarize myself with canon to properly write the characters again, but don’t really have the same drive to go through all the chats

It’s been a while and my writing style has actually evolved quite a bit (but for the better, I hope!). If I finish EP, there are earlier chapters I’d like to expand upon and potentially modify to flow better. I do worry though that earlier readers might not like the way I change it, but also, I have no idea how many of those people would come back to read the ending, really, anyway.

The good news, though:

I actually wrote 25k on EP during Camp NaNo in July 2020

This is EP’s current word count in my drafts (unedited):

EP is also no longer constrained by my ability (and patience) to make chatrooms at all anymore since I can generate them in mere minutes with my program rather than painstakingly editing them frame-by-frame in Photoshop

I would really like the satisfaction of finishing this story :P

So in summary anon: I am cautiously optimistic about the fate of Everlasting Party. And I actually adore messages like this that let me know people have enjoyed it and would be willing to come back if it was completed! ♥ The odds of me finishing it do, in fact, increase with each person who tells me this, ‘cause part of my worry is that it would be pointless anyway since it’s been several years and what if it doesn’t live up to what people imagined it would be...

Basically, even though I’ve written several additional unposted chapters of EP, I really want to have the whole story complete before uploading again so I don’t get anyone’s hopes up. That said, it’s also pointless to sit on another 25k+ of words if I don’t finish it, so... well, how’s this: if I don’t finish EP by 2022, then I’ll upload what I have written and write a note on my plans so people like you can have some closure.

Continuing these written reactions/predictions somewhere cause itd be fun I think to see what actually ends up happening and remembering what I thought at the time so im dumping it here, youre welcome. Like if he talked about Fives learning about the chips and not being listened to and that resulted in 66 because of the chips where activated and made them betray the jedi but we get no reaction from Echo I’m going to be pretty disappointed honestly. Like I get the bad batch not really knowing the squad so they have excuses but Echo did, and I really hope they don’t do the thing “Oh well Echo was caught by droids so now he doesn’t care about them anymore” because... that sucks. Like honestly Echo wasn’t even super crazy about seeing Rex either tbh (I get that Echo feels like he doesn’t fit in with regs and thats all fine and dandy) but it kinda feels like he doesn’t give a shit about what he’s gone through with other people. ---Rambling and getting off topic now because I have some shit between Echo and Fives: but if thats the case like we all know it fucked up Fives when he thought Echo was dead so if Echo isn’t the same way about Fives I guess thats just like... depressing and it sucks because everyone sees them as “that duo”. Again we really don’t know what Rex said exactly so its possible it didnt get brought up but if it did...  - Wrecker picking up Rex is so cute but you can see the fucking worry in Rex’s eyes for being picked up by him cause Wrecker would throw him and agjsdb I love it. - Omega straight up being like “youre old” while looking at Rex’s face PFFT no filter kid. - REX KNOWS ABOUT WRECKER -- Good I’m very happy Rex is calling them out on this inhibitor chip shit. ‘Oh crosshair was just an exception’ should definitely not be an excuse. - Oh alright so the glimpse in the trailer was a junkyard and not the same thing. Same kind of ship but not where the graveyard is. Honestly thats kind of a relief. - OH SHIT I WAS TALKING ABOUT FIVES NOW THEY ARE BRINGING HIM UP IM GONNA CRY ABOUT FIVES ALL OVER AGAIN -- wait.... now I don’t know if they know or not about him. - The scenery in this show is really pretty im just gonna go ahead and give some appreciation. - Oh no Wrecker! Pull up the rope!!!!!! He can climb but you can also pull him!!!! -- Thank god. - Omega talking about if something goes wrong? It’s not like theyre all gonna die at the same exact time.... like theyre only gonna do the surgery one at a time so... Omega what are you imagining sis? Like if one person turns? It’s still kind of unlikely that they could defeat the other very talented people in the room. - OH SHIT TECH YELL FOR HELP - HEY THIS HURTS MY FEELINGS DAVE HEY HEY -- LIKE YEAH THEY CANT POSSIBLY KILL THEM ALL CAUSE THE SHOW NEEDS TO GO ON BUT HEY --- Lowkey predicting they could all turn by the end of the show season cause like if they dont beat wrecker and cant use the medical bay then they are fucked. Also especially think this is gonna happen because one of the directors literally said the second half of season 1 is gonna get emotional and holy shit can you imagine. ---- WHAT IF THEY DO AND ITS JUST OMEGA AND REX TEAMING UP TO SAVE THEM HOLY SHIT AND ITD GIVE EVEN MORE OF A MEANING TO THE WORDS “THE BAD BATCH” - Holy shit this fight Wrecker grabbed ECHO BY HIS FUCKING FACE - Ok I was seriously wondering about Omega’s concerns but now HOLY SHIT CAUSE THATS ALL I CAN SAY LIKE THEYRE NOT DEAD BUT OH MY GOD I DIDN’T THINK ITD GO DOWN LIKE THIS - THANK YOU REX OUR HERO - I know we’re all having a moment after Wrecker but can you guys like team up to move him off the table and get your own done like even if its a bit risky cause we don’t need a repeat of what just happened like yeah theres not enough time in the episode for it but still - The *immediate* little head pat “Hey kid” ;-;

- Ok I’m glad theyre getting them out - THE GENTLE REASSURING TOUCHES IN THIS EPISODE *deep breath* ARE GIVING ME SERATONIN  - Wreckers apology ;-; THIS IS SO FUCKING SAD AND CUTE - Rex is leaving already? :( Be safe you funky little space soldier. - Not really surprised the empire is gonna know they were there cause it was only a matter of time but if theyre smart theyd get off planet and back to Cid before the empire gets there to see whats up.  -- Im sure they’ll realize they removed their chips though, I wonder if crosshair will show up (he probably will) but if he does rather its gonna be a fight there between the empire and bb maybe the bb can win and save crosshair or they have to retreat and something else goes on idk. - Would love if Crosshair was saved because he really got the short end of the stick and is being called “the bad batch” but like he’s not even really there with them for the show so far... also you can tell subtly that he doesn’t like being alone which is fucking sad :tm: because all his friends are gone and it hurts even more now because wrecker was talking about how he didn’t want to do things and he was trying not to hurt them and stuff in his apology and you know damn well Crosshair is the same way about his friends he’s probably just a lot less expressive about it.  -- Honestly even bad batch aside can you imagine how terrible all of the clones feel like all the regs over all knowing theyre the downfall of the jedi and thinking that they were trying to resist it too. Like they know whats happening and deep inside theyre themselves but they cant do shit about it. That fucking hurts me.  This is a longer post but this episode was a roller coaster for my emotions.

this au isnt just by me, theres other ppl involved in it too!! mainly bad timezone gang in technohive but others also helped :)

wilbur soot was discovered by a record label when he was 15 after he wrote the squid song. they didn't care that the lyrics were objectively bad, it was wilbur’s voice that grabbed their attention. they interviewed him and decided that they were gonna give him a chance. wilbur, who had always dreamed of being a singer, jumped at the opportunity. the interview went very well. they even asked him to sing a few songs and he nailed it. however, he wasn’t perfect. he still needed some vocal training. they spent an entire day discussing and signing paperwork. the label ended up arranging for wilbur to attend music classes to enhance his voice and get better at the guitar.

time-skip about 3 years. wilbur is 18 and is phenomenal at singing and the guitar. he starts going to uni and meets his roommate, an american student named technoblade who plays the violin. wilbur and techno quickly become friends, bonding over music and other mutual interests like video games. techno plays mini gigs on the street and at bars close to campus to make some money for himself. particularly at a little bar called “the harpy’s nest”

one day, wilbur gets bored sitting at home alone, so he goes to watch techno’s gig. he arrives halfway through the set and watches for about 5 minutes. after the gig is over, he watches as techno interacts with the bartender, a young man only slightly older looking than the two of them. techno notices wilbur and calls him over, introducing him to the bartender, philza. the two immediately hit it off and by the end of the night, they’ve exchanged numbers and a promise to meet up phil’s next shift.

over the next few months, the trio became best friends. wilbur learns that phil plays the drums and has several eps. one ep in particular, “hardcore2” blew up a bit in their general area and phil gained a bit of traction as a musician. the three boys spend most of their time hanging out at wilbur and techno’s dorm, or at phil’s bar. they stay up till ungodly hours playing video games and talking. their other friends dub them the sleepy boys, because of how tired they all are the next day. 

however, as the months fly by, the date wilbur is supposed to finish training and write his first songs draws closer. he worries he’s bitten more than he can chew and he wonders if he’s even ready for fame. a month later he is assigned a manager, pete. pete says that his training contract has expired, meaning that he's ready to start writing his album. wilbur says that he needs to think a bit before he starts. pete was about to tell him he can’t have extra time to think because he signed a contract, but seeing the look of stress on wilbur’s face, he allows him 2 days before he starts. wilbur goes on a walk to think. he curses himself for second-guessing himself now. he realizes he doesn’t wanna do this alone. then he thinks of techno and phil. 

what if they formed a band? that way he wouldn’t have to do this alone. he’s sure that they'd love to make a band together as well. he goes to them and… they agree. he goes to pete and asks him if they can be a three-piece band. pete says he needs to ask his higher-ups first. wilbur doesn’t hear from pete for 4 days and starts to worry. what if they won’t allow it? it wasn't part of the agreement so they have every right to turn him down. at the end of the fourth day, pete calls him and says that the higher-ups have agreed. they had to choose a group name by the end of 2 days. the trio was over the moon.

this was the start of sleepy bois inc.

their record label wasn’t massive, so the boys took to playing on the streets and in bars to gain some traction. they slowly started gaining recognition and grew faster when they made a youtube channel. they released several eps and a few albums, and gained a following over the next few years.

their first big break came 3 years after the band was formed. they had a decent following, about 50k subs on youtube and slightly less on other platforms. one day, jschlatt from lunch club, a massive boy band, got their music recommended to him on youtube. he’s intrigued and listened to it, and was surprised at how much he liked it. he liked it so much, that he decided to shout them out on twitter. 

sleepybois inc’s popularity skyrocketed, and the members of both bands grew close. when lunch club announced their next tour, they revealed that sleepybois inc would open for them. the fans freak out, and many iconic moments and inside jokes form from this tour.

tommy innit was 19 years old and was preparing to become a musician. he was almost done with the 4 years of vocal and keyboard training provided by a record label and had to make a decision: be a solo artist, or join a band. if he chose the band, he has another 2 options: be assigned into a band that already exists under this label or make a new one with people that he knows. 

tommy is also a massive fan of lunch club, and sees that jschlatt shouted out a band called sleepybois inc. he likes them a lot and becomes a fan of their stuff too. what tommy didn’t know is that they were at the same label he was training at and were open for a 4th member. 

back on the music, tommy ended up going with band. he debated between making a band or being assigned one. after a while, he ended up going with being assigned. he was nervous about this because he'd have to integrate himself into their dynamic and feared that fans won’t like him, but he figured it’d be easier than making his friends all learn instruments.

being assigned a band is a process, so tommy had a couple of months free. during this time, lunch club was on tour with sleepybois inc and tommy got vip tickets to a show. so he went to the meet and greet and gave his number to sleepybois inc saying ”hmu if u need a keyboardist lul” as a joke (this is a very important detail i will include it f u)

so come around the day of tommy getting assigned. he has to do auditions for the bands that the record label selected for him to join. management has narrowed it down to the youngest 2 bands at their label who are open for a member: one of which is sleepybois inc.

it had been a month since tommy interviewed for sleepybois inc. he did pretty well at it, and had been talking to the boys a lot since then. he still hadn’t had news on whether he joined though. 

it was 3 am. tommy had been working on school work for hours and had only just managed to finish up for the night. he settled into bed and was about to fall asleep when his phone rang. not bothering to look at who was calling, tommy picked it up

“who the fuck is calling me at 3 in the morning i swear to god-” tommy whispered angrily. 

“tommy?” wilbur’s voice rang out “wait shit- this is probably a really bad time im sorry. but we have something important to tell you.”

tommy’s eyes widened. 

“we’ve decided that you can join the band”

the band and their label spent a few weeks discussing how they would go about this. they boys decided they would need a name change too, and ended up settling on the name ‘purple pandas’. however, a new member and a name change would practically transform the band completely, so they had to go about announcing this the right way.

they ended up settling on posting a youtube video titled ‘making some changes’. seeing the announcement for this sent fans into a frenzy, frantically tweeting about what it could be. many rumours spread fast and it even got into a few news articles. conspiracies started floating around about what changes could possibly be taking place.

I thought this was a great episode. A lot of hype moments and the CGI worked for me, for the most part. Looking forward to the next episode!

WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING MOMENTS WAS YOUR FAVORITE? 310 Responses

Mikasa’s reintroduction to the series takes the largest piece of the pie, with 31.6% enjoying the scene the most. In second comes the coordinated attack from the Survey Corps against Porco, with 14.8% feeling that scene really brings the hype. At 10.3%, Levi’s first appearance in the season takes 3rd place, and with 9.7% is the overall fight between Eren and the War Hammer Titan.

Ackermans ran this episode as they should. They're on a whole different level. 

Why isn't the Sasha-Gabi moment in the list of favourite moments? That's my actually favourite moment. Gabi seeing Sasha through the fire and smoke, Sasha's reflection in her eyes...chilling.

THE CGI CONTINUES TO BE A POINT OF CONTENTION. BE HONEST, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE EXECUTION OF CGI SO FAR THIS SEASON? 309 Responses

In general, the fandom appears to be understanding of MAPPA’s usage of CGI, with 38.2% being completely unbothered by it, 20.1% feeling that while it’s not ideal, it could be much worse, and 18.8% not particularly caring for it but not faulting MAPPA for it either. A handful of people just wish that there would be more appreciation that it’s getting animated at all, while others continue to be a bit salty about the usage of CGI this season.

Did people forgot the god-awful Colossal titan's CGI from WIT? Well, I didn't so I wasn't surprised by the same level of CGI in Eren's scene (thankfully just one of them). I rarely have issue with CGI in SnK except for truly awful looking ones so like couple of times in the season, usually. 

I honestly wouldn't even know there's CGI if everyone wasn't complaining about it. I honest to god can't see where they use it.

It's mostly fine

I thought the war hammer titan looked AMAZING, the only CGI that looked odd was the scouts in the background, but that’s really it...?

A few sore spots (e.g. Erens titan looked kinda off this ep), but it's not season-ruining yet.

It works fine for titans that already look somewhat mechanical (Armor, Jaw), but it looks incredibly awkward for the others, to the point of taking me out of the story. 

Sometimes great sometimes shit

Maybe I've been spoiled by studio orange and the previous seasons, but I know for a fact that they can do better. This is not a new anime, this is the final season of one of the greatest anime of all time, so yeah I expected much better CGI, it was poor and unecessary.

Some Titans like Eren and Beast look a little weird but I just really like how they made effort to make it blend with the art style. Maybe if they had found a way to cut the animation down to 12fps it might not look so bad? Anyways I think it’s good for what it is, MAPPA is doing their best!

I barely noticed it. The animation looks BOMB. Top 5 episodes of the whole series for me and BEST action episode of AOT easily.

I'm always going to prefer 2D but I understand why they're using it. Still sad about what could've been if they were given enough time to work on the season. Definitely going to lower my expectations.

I think the CGI for the Titans is completely fine. It's the CGI for the Scouts that was a bit off putting for me. Still, not enough to ruin the episode. And if we continue to get animation of this standard I will be fine with it. 

At this point after episode 7 onward eventually AOT CGI is going to be worst than EX-arm's CGI 

I love it because it makes the titans scarier and more eerie? I also miss the 2D ones because they feel more natural. Overall, I think it's fine!

I think the CGi is well executed (for the most part), I just don't like that they had to use it so much.

It's a great job. They manage to execute it very well and go to a normal animation when it's needed. It doesn't bother me tbh

HOW WAS EREN’S ROOFTOP SWAN DIVE? 309 Responses

We got a more colorful and evened out pie for this question. Overall the largest chunk, at 24.3%, are enjoying MAPPA’s take on Eren’s iconic “hobo chic” look. 21.1% think Sasha looks the best out of all of them, while Mikasa trails just behind her at 20.1%. 16.1% are grateful for Connie’s design, leaving 9.5% favoring Jean, and smaller handfuls appreciating MAPPA’s take on Levi and Floch.

OG characters designs feels a bit off to me. I understand why they use CG for some parts and I have mixed emotions about it. I hope they won't rely on it too much on the upcoming episodes.

One of the most anticipated scenes of the Marley arc was the return of the Survey Corps and the way Mikasa paves the path for their reintroduction. The fandom appears to be very happy with MAPPA’s execution of the scene, with 60.9% of respondents rating it with a 5, with 27% rating it a 4.

MAPPA INCLUDED FILLER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE OF WILLY HESITANTLY DEPARTING FROM HIS TEARFUL FAMILY. WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE ADDITION? 310 Responses

The series isn’t known for having too much filler, but typically what filler does exist seems to be appreciated by the fandom, and this was no exception. 56.8% of respondents were happy for a little more fleshing out of Willy’s character (also learning that those kids were his!) and being able to sympathize more with him. 19.7% appreciated the more sympathetic addition until they remembered he was willing to throw Liberio under the bus for his plan. 13.5% are appreciative of any and all additional Willy content. A small amount didn’t like the filler and would rather have had MAPPA put their effort into other things.

Don't add extra 2d animation if You can't even handle what's in the manga

It would've been better to show before he was dead. Fleshing him out after the audience already know he's dead doesn't hit as much imo

Wasn't one of the scene itself, but then again I'm always interested in scenes I haven't seen yet.

this was a benefit. as manga readers, we had time to know willy. anime onlies will only ever have these 2-3 episodes and it was very humanizing

How is that possible that Tybur little kids in few seconds were louder nad more chaotic than THE WHOLE CITY DURING THE ATTACK??

It's very regrettable he left so many children fatherless because of what he chose to do. Really saddening..

I’d have rather seen more of the manga animated 

I knew why they added it, but I (personally) think willy is crud. Not mad it's there tho!

He did his duty as a Tybur to the very end. Honestly I wish he could have lived longer, he’s a really compelling and interesting character.

I feel like some viewers have carelessly misunderstood Willy because of that scene in the carriage. They're like 'wow, he really hates and shames his own people huh?' but at the beginning of the episode we all saw his abundance of children. Would it not have been extremely contradictory if he had truly wanted the extinction of all Eldians and then at the same time did the complete opposite by mass-reproducing a small army of Eldian children? Maybe that's why that scene was added to the start of the episode, to keep people away from mischaracterising him. Unfortunately, this may have simply been missed or overlooked by some.

Reading the manga, I truly didn't even consider the possibility that these were Willy's children because he is so obviously a ~*bachelor*~. Like, it didn't even cross my mind that those children weren't his little nieces and nephews because he is suuuuch a Theater Gay. Nothing can change my mind.

IN THE ORIGINAL CHAPTER 101, MAGATH IS THE ONE WHO ADVOCATES FOR KILLING EREN INSTEAD OF EATING HIM (IN CONTRAST TO HIS SUBORDINATE KOSLOW) AND NOTES THAT “THE AGE OF TITANS IS OVER.” IN THE ADAPTATION, MAGATH INSTEAD ADVOCATES FOR EATING EREN, NOTING THAT KILLING HIM WOULD ONLY PROLONG THE PROBLEM. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE CHANGE? 305 Responses

A minor dialogue change didn’t seem to have much of an effect on nearly half of respondents, with 47.5% saying they’re indifferent to the change. 43.3% like the change much better, feeling that it works a lot better with future story developments and makes more sense. A handful didn’t care for the change and felt it tampered with Magath’s overall characterization. 

I think the change was logical and more consistent with the story, but I'm naturally skeptical of any AOT manga-to-anime change.

It ovewrites the flaw of Magath's original plan. Even if I think its unfitting of him, it makes sense.

I'm not sure what I feel about it. Kinda like how they added Falco having a dream back in episode 1. For now, let's just see.

I suppose the new change is a little contradictory because Magath dislikes Marley’s reliance on Titan power and rather just wishes th ey had prowess in other ways. 

Realistically eating him makes more sense for them to eat Eren so they gain control of the Founder but I think Magath accepting the age of Titans is now done for is more in character.

It obviously makes more sense logistically, but I think it's important for Magath to stand opposed to Marley national policy on this front, like, symbolically.

Though they are minor characters, the anime seems to have made some of the fandom a bit more fond of them. Both versions are devastating, but Manga hit harder bc I just was so confused and couldn't stop trying to figure out wtf Eren was doing and why. Watching it knowing what I know made it somehow more devastating and yet also more palatable (bc I have a better understanding.)

WE FINALLY HAVE A NAME FOR LADY TYBUR - LARA! THOUGHTS? 307 Responses

One of the few characters left with no name after the large guidebook released a few years ago, Lady Tybur was all we could call her (aside from fan-given names). Now she has an official name! 26.7% found it neat that we finally got this official detail. 25.4% feel that now they can finally sleep at night. 17.6% are forever grateful for the name drop and hated waiting so long for it. 15.3% don’t care at all and 11.7% feel this confirms that Isayama is a fan of Tomb Raider.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?

I enjoyed the episode very much. I felt that the CGI was handled fairly well given the time restraints. However, there were a few instances where it was a bit jarring like Eren eating Willy, Eren pulling the WHT's cord, Mikasa landing on Eren, and Jean climbing up on the roof. Also some of the CGI models looked a bit weird for the scouts. I'm hoping some of these issues can be improved on in the Blue-ray version. Overall, these issues were noticeable but didn't take too much away from my enjoyment of the episode.

As much as I don't like the CGI, episode was great.

Just that it was fantastic and I can't wait for the next one!

The music is top notch. I love it. Especially the new version of XL TT near the end

After re-visiting the trailer we got for this season, it's just....saddening. Everyone was wondering how Mappa was gonna animate AoT and after seeing that trailer, all that effort by the animators, I thought "it's in good hands!". Now that we're getting the episodes and it's underwhelming. I don't blame the Mappa animators at all and cgi is unavoidable at some moments. But whoever are the higher ups who said "animate this in the shortest amount of time" ARE the assholes. It's so upsetting for this anime and the workers of it to be brought down like this :'(

THE OST WAS FIRE

Gabi's voice acting was amazing this episode ! Also, it feels good to hear the ODM gear sound effect again. The CGI didn't keep me from enjoying the fight, we got awesome camera movements and good choreography, I'm very hopeful for next episode ! Also best boy Onyankopon might appear soon ?

I seriously do not know why people are complaining. It was amazing! Can't wait for the next episodes, it's going to be action-packed and intense!

I don't know if I liked the episode or not. I usually prefer manga so even episodes I like I prefer their manga versions but there is something in off with the episode and usually, Titans fight are more excited but this one Nah it was not at all. War hammer was great in animation it served a better understanding of its powers but the fight, in general, was like boring?? idk maybe because I am a manga reader so the titan power/character's introduction was not as thrilling as they were when I've read the chapters. anyways, there is still more of the attack on liberio in the next episode so I'll give my final thought when we conclude the arc

I really enjoyed and the CGI doesn't bother me.

I think the reason Attack Titan looks a bit off is it looks a bit thinner! Warhammer looks amazing because it's a true copy of the manga. If Attack Titan was a bit buff, I think nobody would have that much of a problem. Overall the chapter is amazing!

as much as i adored everything else i must admit... what is wrong with the character design? what happened to everyone's jaws?? i think jean, mikasa and pieck were the worst drawn. in the manga, they look flawless. 

I just hope we would get actual discussions in the sub instead of circle jerking or bitching about the cgi/ost etc.

The soundtrack was epic as hell

Mappa is doing a good job, with the little time they had. But sadly, they had the capacity to do way better and I will always regret this situation. And the Jojo memes on Mikasa are on point: in that specific panel, she looks ugly and unlike her cute face in the manga. For the rest of the episode, she's well portrayed

I think this episode is a taste of what is to come. It’s one thing to read still, silent pictures of complete devastation, and it’s another thing to hear the explosions, the screaming and crying. Seeing the blood painted red instead of black and white. When Eren rumbles the world, more people will realize how evil it is, how completely irredeemable. Less people will be #teameren once they get to see it in the anime. I can’t wait to see what MAPPA has in store.

So many nice details in the battle that weren’t there in the manga, the war hammer animation was particularly great

I feel bad complaining, but this was the first episode of the season that has disappointed me at all. Every other episode I feel has elevated the manga. I don't want (and never expected) to be that person, but the CGI, especially on the humans (WHY??) was so awkward it was distracting. We also lost a little bit of expressiveness from Eren, which is kind of a big deal when there's so little from him to begin with. 

Soundtrack was lit!!!!

It is what it is. But after I finished the episode I went back to watch the trailer and got sad that the season just isn't going to look like that. It's not bad by any means and I understand that these are people, not robots working on this with an extremely tight schedule. This entitled fanbase is super embarrassing with it's behavior and harassment of the people working on it. I kind of hope the final arc doesn't get animated now because these people don't deserve it. 

Awesome! I was a bit distracted how the pacing was, cutting a bit weirdly from one episode to another, but I really enjoyed it!

It was emotionless and almost boring. The sound director keeps fucking up big time. I didnt feel anything close to the hype I felt watching the Armored/Colossal reveal animated. There were no exciting goosebumps, or tears. Nothing. Also the CGI was terrible. There were good things, but I expected much more for suck a climatic episode

It was a good episode after all, graphic was ok but i think that if they continued with the same titan 2d animation of first episodes and maybe changed a bit some sound it would have been waaay better. Still a good episode imho

The episode was very average. I'm not trying to complain, I know that the anime is mostly for anime-onlines, while we have a manga, but I expected better. I imagined the titan fight to be smooth, but in reality both - WHT and AT - moved like two, fat elephants. In the manga I felt that WHT was fast like a wind. In the anime Lara was slow, she looked like she had a hard time to even hold her hammer. The moment between Eren and Mikasa was disappointing. In the anime when Mikasa was upset about Eren's actions, he was completely unfeeling, while in the manga we see him being full of emotions and almost crying. I know he will turn into a cold bastard but MAPPA shouldn't dehumanize Eren so much now. I was surprised by Connie's glow up. MAPPA has done better job with him. In the manga he still looks like a kid, while MAPPA made him more mature-looking and masculine. That's good for underrated Connie. I'm grateful for the scene between Willy and his children. This way he feels more sympathetic and isn't ""just a guy who declared a war and was eaten by Eren"". 

I really like how the warriors and Marleyans seem to be getting a somewhat equal amount of screen time as the scouts have gotten after they've come into the picture. I hope this helps to make clear for the anime-onlies that understanding the experiences, emotions and the development of the other side is just as important as understanding those of the scouts/Paradis.

"Excuse me."

"Yes," Juyeon whips his head up to see a pregnant woman waddling over to the counter with an expression that looks murderous. Holding her belly against herself with a grocery bag slung over her shoulder, she slams her entire body onto the front counter, which causes him to jump in surprise. 

"How are you, ma'am? How can I help you today?" Juyeon flashes a wan smile, used to dealing with unnerved clients. There's usually always a reason behind their madness.

"I have been waiting for at least an hour!" The woman bellows, practically red in the face, "I'm due in two weeks, and there are so many other pregnant women waiting behind me. How come it's taking so long?"

"Ma'am, I'm sorry we--"

"Do you know how hard it is for us, pregnant women, to sit here in this stuffed waiting room while babies are kicking?!" She interrupts with another yell as Juyeon's hands come up in defense, "I want to see Dr. Bae right now! Right now, you hear me? I'm tired! I want to go home!" 

Panic rises at the back of Juyeon's throat, "I--I am so sorry about this ma'am. But due to the number of patients today, the office is running a little slower than usual. I'm really sorry--"

"I don't want to hear your stupid reasons. I want my appointment!" She bellows, "Now!"

Fear coils through his stomach, a sick feeling tying into knots as his throat dries up with the countless excuses dying on the tip of his tongue. 

Shit, his heart races. How is he supposed to deal with that? 

He'd give anything to be shadowing a doctor right now. 

The door to the doctor's office suddenly slides open, revealing a gentle-eyed Jacob who's gaze quickly flits between them in understanding. The woman doesn't even wait a second, quickly twisting her body and waddling towards him. 

"Dr. Bae, I was just telling your stupid staff here that you need to speed up your process! Do you know how painful it is to be sitting around with that?" She motions towards her belly, legs wide apart and fists clenched at her sides as though she's preparing for battle. 

But Jacob's expression stays unfazed, "I apologize, ma'am. Unfortunately the speed of the diagnosis does not rely solely on me, but my patient."

"Yes, but--"

"Some have--" Jacob pauses, presses his lips together as sympathy flashes through his face, "some have difficult obstacles they've had to face in regards to their pregnancy. Not everyone is as lucky that their baby is growing up to be healthy."

The woman blinks, opening her mouth, then closing it upon realizing that she has been shocked into silence. 

"I understand your frustrations, I really do," Jacob's voice is gentle, a soothing lullaby that instantly makes Juyeon feel like the world is a better place, "but we all have to cooperate a little, work together to make this work. Don't you think?" 

For a moment, there's a complete silence so palpable that Juyeon can hear the ringing in his ears. He can feel the eyes of a multitude of patients drilling into the back of his skull and goosebumps suddenly explode along his arm at the sensation. 

"Alright," the woman finally lets out a grumble, "fine. Whatever."

And she turns around, wobbly on her feet, before plopping back down at her seat looking slightly disconcerted by the effect of Jacob's words. 

Juyeon sends the said doctor a look of utter gratefulness, which Jacob answers with a wink of his own before retreating back into his office. 

Thank god.

It's been a long day running back and forth between the maternity department and the pediatric ward, but it is only when the last patient bids their goodbyes that Juyeon allows his neutral mask to fall.

"I'm sorry doctor," he bows his head to the ground, not daring to make any kind of eye contact due to the embarrassment coiling through him, "It was my fault. I couldn't calm her down in time."

"No no," Jacob's lips curl up into a smile, face softening with understanding, "it happens all the time. Impatient patients are the norm around here. Mothers-to-be, especially."

"Still, I'm sorry."

"Did that swear you off the Maternity Ward then?" Jacob's smile widens into a teasing grin.

"Maybe."

"Well, if it's of any comfort, it's no better in the other wards."

"What do you mean?" Juyeon frowns. 

"Some of them are always looking for donors, others always doing extra shifts. The pediatric ward is the only one that's doing okay, as of late. Cancer department is just a hole of sadness."

"That's...not very encouraging."

"That's the reality of it," Jacob shrugs, "did you give it any thought? What you wanted to specialize?" 

"I don't know. Cancer, maybe. I'm not good with kids and the Cardiac Department looks like hell. Also, Organs make me squirm."

Jacob laughs at that, the sound bouncing through the room like sunlight, "that's exactly the same reason why I didn't want to specialize in surgery."

"That makes the two of us."

After packing up their belongings and clocking out for the day, Jacob offers to buy Juyeon dinner as a thank-you for helping him throughout the day and though the latter tries his best to refuse, the doctor insists that it's just something he does with all of his underlings, and that not treating Juyeon would just not be right. 

So Juyeon has no other choice but to follow as they walk to the parking lot. They unexpectedly bump into Hyunjae and Changmin in the lobby, causing Jacob to invite them both to join. 

"Why Jacob, I think that's the first time you're buying me dinner," Hyunjae can't help but comment as they settle at one of the tables of Mama's chicken, a small restaurant just down the street from their hospital. Juyeon smacks his thigh in protest, aiming to be subtle while the former stifles his groan of pain. 

"What?" Hyunjae hisses venomously.

"You don't say those kinds of things," Juyeon hisses back.

"You only care because you want him to give you a good review."

"Piss off, Hyunjae." 

The dinner goes surprisingly well considering that Juyeon isn't really familiar with Jacob. Having Hyunjae helps ease the tension between the interns and the doctors, lightening the atmosphere and loosening up his tongue. They share stories about patients, heart-wrenching stories about the ones they lost, and the ones that they managed to save. The more they spoke, the more Juyeon felt like this was the right path he'd chosen, after all this internal dilemma that had cost him a few years. 

"So why did you want to study medicine?" Asks Hyunjae to Changmin, who is already slightly flushed from his second beer. 

"I--uh--I just wanted to make the world a better place," Changmin stammers, ears flushing red, "I don't think I've considered anything else."

"See, this is the problem with interns," Hyunjae shakes a hand at him, "you guys think that being a doctor is honourable. It fucking sucks, okay? Like, it's really shitty. The shittiest of everything shitty in this world."

"Not all that shitty," Jacob intercepts.

Hyunjae scowls at him, "for you, maybe. You work in the Maternity Ward. What's the worst? That a pregnant woman comes screaming at you?" 

At that comment, Juyeon can't help but glance at Jacob, eyes meeting for a quick second in understanding. 

“I think I got used to that,” Jacob answers with a small smile, “Pregnant women don’t scare me.” 

“You’re brave, Dr. Bae,” Hyunjae sniffs, “there’s no way I’d be able to make it.”

“Do you regret choosing to be a surgeon?” Changmin pipes up.

“Nah,” Hyunjae flashes him a grin then, leaning back against his seat and poking Juyeon’s neck as he does so, “couldn’t find myself a better match. Surgery is all I live for. It’s like me against death, and most of the time, I always win.” 

“And the times you don’t?” 

“You win some, you lose some. That’s the reality of it.”

When Jacob and Changmin bid their goodbyes, Juyeon accompanies Hyunjae back to the hospital -- the latter has a night shift. It is his second one in a row -- while throwing his friend a couple of worried glances out of the corner of his eye. 

He knows more than anyone how much Hyunjae gives to the people. No matter how much bravado he puts on about doctors and how medicine really is like a beast you can’t tame, there’s definitely always a sparkle in the said doctor’s eyes whenever he talks about it. Juyeon admires that, and he admires Hyunjae (not that he’ll ever tell him though), but his stomach can’t help but churn with worry when he notices the darkening blue aprons underneath his friend’s eyes, or the tiredness lining them, red-rimmed and mouth pulled down in a way that only suggests he lacks sleep and energy. 

“Hey,” Juyeon speaks up when they reach the hospital doors. Hyunjae looks back at him as he says, “try getting some sleep. You look like crap.” 

“Thanks Juyeon. I’ll keep that in mind.” 

“I’m serious, Hyunjae. Continue doing that and you’ll pass out in mid-surgery.” 

“Yeah yeah,” the older man sticks out his tongue in retaliation, “I hear you, mother. You heading home now?” 

“Yup. I’m done for the day. I got tomorrow off too.” 

“Lucky bastard.”

kingdom ep 8 thoughts

another week, another kingdom episode. let’s go 

mayfly winning for dance is predictable as hell but it still pisses me off either way lmfao

i just. it’s the same stuff over and over i really don’t get it 

mayfly winning all 3 team matches is also not surprising in the least. performances aside, again, i could’ve told you this before the round even started

after watching this stage again I do like the song a bit more tho. i still don’t really care for it but each of the boys really shined 

mayfly vocal team was immaculate. one of the best performances of the whole show so far

equating jungle with savage is a bit. i mean i get it but like. yikes 

the set is cool tho and the performance is a lot of fun

lisa’s part is so disconnected from the rest of it tho like you could truly edit her out and it would change very little. i wish they had actually incorporated her into the stage. the way it’s done just comes off like, yeah we have the ties to get her so let’s just stick her in the middle so mnet can use her as the thumbnail 

which is smart, but still

i get that they needed time to do a costume change but i think they could’ve done something like have her pass each member, give them the golden touch, and then when she’s done, we see them all again in the gold outfits. they just put on jackets so it wouldn’t be that hard
