"will shouldn't use a gun in season five because his father probably taught him how to use one and that could be a bad reminder for him" have you considered that will using what was very likely a Bad experience to save his life in what is undoubtedly an even worse experience could be a good thing? have you considered that him using a skill he was forced to learn to save not only himself but (as is likely more important and meaningful to him) the lives of others could give him a sense of usefulness and safety knowing that he isn't defenseless and can stand his and others' ground if need be? especially considering that's a skill that we've only seen hopper and nancy possess, making it that much more valuable and himself more helpful to the group? after everything in s1 and s2, he's probably felt guilty for having endangered them and dozens of other people multiple times, i don't think it'd be out there for him to feel "happy" that he can finally return the favor and protect them for once (especially after having complained about being babied and treated like a doll).

"will doesn't have and shouldn't have powers because that makes him different and he doesn't want to be different" not only are you wrong lol <3 but how have you not noticed that will's entire thing since the very beginning is that he is different and he knows it and while he does get his heart broken over the fact that this means he faces constant unfairness in life, he still refuses to be any other way? will doesn't conform nor does he ever try to even when others try to force or shame him to. he gets frustrated and upset at being treated differently, yes, but he stays true to himself. to battle that feeling he sometimes gets that tells him he's a mistake, a feeling he gets not from his own otherness but from living in a world that Makes it an otherness and thus isolates him for it, he seeks out that which he loves and enjoys and throws himself wholeheartedly at it. will lives his truth and is willing to suffer the consequences for it. he refuses to live in darkness and let it take a hold of him. he holds on to hope and all that makes him feel better for being different. he holds on to art, to dnd, to video games, to his family and his friends, and everything that brings him joy and reminds him that it's okay to be different. in s1 joyce defends will ("he's missing is what he is") and jonathan tells him he shouldn't like things that other people (namely their homophobic dad) try to force him to like, that he should like what he genuinely likes. in s2 jonathan gives will the freak speech and tells him that no one normal ever accomplished anything and mentions bowie. in s3, he doesn't get a speech, (though joyce does tell him that when he falls in love he won't find it gross [avoiding the word girlfriend and leaving it neutral]) but he does face backlash from someone that IS trying to conform and IS shaming will for not letting go of "childish" things aka his interests, what's important to him, and what he wants. does will back down or shy away in shame? no. instead, he lets mike sit in his shame for having said something that hurtful, and he says "yeah. i guess i did. i really did." clearly this is a conversation about what makes will different aka his sexuality bc he goes and destroys castle byers (the safe place he and his brother built once their homophobic dad left which is a place will can be himself unapologetically) with what is likely a bat that lonnie gave him when trying to get him into baseball. he calls himself stupid and donates his dnd books, but i don't see this as an act of conformity (he tells mike as much, suggesting he'll just use his books + if he was ashamed he wouldn't have painted the party as their dnd characters and given it to him of all people lol). he felt stupid because he thought they'd always be crazy together, that they were of the same mind and heart still, and that they had the same brand of "otherness" if you catch my drift. then in s4 we get jonathan's tender "you're my brother and there is nothing absolutely nothing that will ever change that" which is the most direct anyone has ever been about that which makes will different. and he doesn't shy away from it! he doesn't deny it, because we can see from his confession and how he breaks down that he's desperately been wanting and needing to hear that. he accepts that love and allows himself to be held and seen by someone else, as he has every other time. because will doesn't hate being different, he just hates that he has to live in a world where that's seen as wrong and thus makes him feel like he doesn't belong because of it. but he doesn't change himself. he doesn't feel ashamed of it. he doesn't see it as a flaw in himself or others and he never has. will is different and he knows it and he wouldn't have it any other way.

will's story since the beginning has been about being different and going through awful things, and managing to not only find the light in it but also make it out stronger because of it all. it's always been about using what makes him different as a good thing and as something he uses to save himself and others.

will being good with a gun bought him time with whatever kidnapped him. will knowing how to run and hide kept him alive in the upside down. will acted as a spy while possessed and managed not only to save hopper but also tell them how to finish this. will's experiences and senses helped them figure out what was happening in season three. will's love and loyalty inspires mike and manages to bring him to a better place even if just for a moment in the van, and again he's the one that knows vecna's current state, aaaand had he been in hawkins at the time it likely would've gone a lot better because as dustin said "we need will".

taking something awful and turning it into a good thing and a source of strength is a wonderful trope. it's inspiring and empowering not only for the character but for those that could use that hope and reminder that there's always a silver lining, that life isn't all darkness and shadows and hurt. not only that, but it's something that they've literally always done for will since the very beginning. he is the prime character for that. his entire message has always been that it's okay to be different and that you can find strength and peace in that; that the things that make you different aren't a detriment, they're precisely what make you strong. like... i'm sorry, but have you not been paying attention at all whatsoever this entire time or... :/

Helios: bit of an older wof oc, i forgot most of his story but hes from hundreds of years before the time of the books. hes a skywing animus who for many years went undisovered. eventually he was found out and he impulsivly cast a spell to transport him somewhere where he would never be found by the skywing gaurds. this landed him in the middle of Pantala. not much else from there. Metal Lords was a p cute movie. and i got thoughts and idk who to tell

im a metalhead and i dont think even id like to hang with hunter as he is in the beginning. I know a lot about the bands i like but im excited about telling my friends about em, not trynna make em feel bad and like they gotta catch up

hunter is a shit head kid tho and defo is still learning to be a person and of course has totally grown a bunch by the end of the movie. (still got growing to do but that the journey of life all the way thru) Speaking of shit head and doing a full send into bad person territory; the number of slayer shits is totally a red flag but i was glad they didnt play any of their music. having the shirts does make sense for the character, hes been into metal for only a few years and they are huge and an intro for lots of people.

i feel like the vibe’s so different with different sub genres because i like power and folk mostly. so I like dumb funny bands and so do my buddies i talk metal with. even with death metal i only listen to the bands i know were a bunch of nerds having fun not taking themselves WAY too seriously (if you know who im talking about apparently he still hasnt chilled). i was stoked to see dnd in the movie because the overlap between those groups is a big one. more in the metal heads like drama and gravitas and pretend direction than the dnd peeps like metal way i think?

speaking genres. its a funny scene to say theyre a post death doom metal band but i dont think they are? they play too fast to be doom. the lyrics and tone could be doom there’s definitely despair and distortion but its doesnt distort in the way i think of doom. I’ll admit im not an expert, the closest i get to doom in my everyday listening is sludge metal so maybe im being to harsh in looking for a thicker sound

almost all the bands on the poster who clearly are influences on the band are heavy metal, thrash metal and NWOBHM. (the official netflix playlist on spotify also is these genres) hell he’s even got a Ghost BC poster and they’re rock, metalheads just like their spooky vibe. there is a Black dahlia and two other posters i couldnt read which probably means death metal. but the point is most of their influences are Heavy Metal and that comes thru. as Lordi would say “Now this is heavy metal!”

the story itself is good too but i just got that much to say about it. got a good moral? its most metal to be confident in yourself and not just conform to what the stereotype of a metalhead is because that’s still basing yourself on others. be nice to people cause if your being a dick why do you think your any better than that jock whos also a dick.

i dont think maxwell tends to have many different modes. what you see is pretty much what you get. he's loud, exuberant, excitable, and curious. but i do think around romantic partners he's a little more quiet and calm and pretty mushy

i think the like. very metallic scent while soldering things

as much as he is a nerd he is pretty damn twunky and has +4 strength so i think working out and training

a river that looks super fast and chaotic on top but is actually only a few feet deep and wont actually drown you

oh he swears like a sailor yeah. i think his dad always stuck with like. kid friendly swearing. so thats what max knew growing up. and then when he went to the monastery the other kids were like "no check this out &*#%#%*" and max was like. i am a changed man.

i think he's simply so bad at it but mostly very loud cursing and threats about how he's going to crush them with his big hammer and he's going to enjoy it (almost entirely directed at his ex boyfriend)

bright but slightly clear yellow/orange/red thats kind of always shifting around even when it should be steady and fizzes like a very carbonated beverage. and i think it smells like ozone and is in a triangle shaped bottle

oh definitely. he wants to be as renown an inventor as he thinks his dad is

OK CAN I TALK ABOUT MY CLOSEST PLATONIC F/OS BC THEYRE ALL SO COOL.

First Im gonna start off with Barley from Onward! I'm not sure if he's platonic or familial, the line is kinda blurred because I'm dating his younger brother Ian, and I consider Barley my older brother in law in a way. And he is like a big brother to me, we kinda have like. A. brotherly friendship if that makes sense. He's actually so cool, He really likes this in-universe version of DnD called Quests of Yore so ofc we play that a lot! Other than that, we do a lot together, We kinda shitpost to each other, talk about terrible movies, but he's also there for me when I need to vent or anything. Hes literally the best big brother figure EVER I kid you not

Next is Aaron T from Turning Red! I dunno how to start this off other than he's probably the most chaotic out of everyone I'm mentioning, next to Barley. You have to put up with him making amongus jokes constantly but you get used to it eventually, he's always great at cheering me up when I'm upset :D

And last we have the least chaotic, Barney from Dead End: Paranormal Park! He's such a nice guy, he and my s/i are actually internet friends LMAO but grew really close! Barney works at a theme park so I get to visit him whenever I go to the theme park he works at :D

Im the main one who would get more into the roleplay sections of our dnd games, so me being the one with the high charisma stat i think helped our dm a lot so he didnt have to fight the rest of our party to get in character, haha, so i get what you mean!

FFXIV is really fun! Its an mmorpg where there is classes and races and stuff like dnd where stats you get from armor help you out, but if you just wanted to hang around the main cities and talk to people thats how some people play as well. The story is great too, maybe a bit slow in the beginning, but it definitely picks up later. Theres also this entire mini game area where every 20 minutes its a new mini game like parkour, running away from falling bamboo, etc. Idk what you play on, but if it’s console the controls might take some getting used to. I heard they are much better on pc though.

The bard class has special access to play instruments however you want so sometimes you will just be passing by a crowd in one of the main cities just gathering around this tiny man with a duck head on playing Megalovania on the flute. - ☄️ Anon

My first experience playing DnD was with my dad and his friends (aka a ton of people who were like 35+ years old) and I didn't know them (or the game) very well at the start so I never wanted to speak because I was incredibly nervous the entire time we were playing. I love the roleplay aspect of the game though! It's so fun when you can really get into character and sometimes people end up saying the most ridiculous things.

Ooh that sounds interesting! I'll have to look into in it, I don't usually play MMOs because other people stress me out (story of my life) but I might have to give it a try for the rpg aspect of it because that's my favorite type of game. And I'm a PC player! I'm so bad with console controllers because the fine movements are really hard for me (and the hand eye coordination tbh), I liked the more controlled movement of a keyboard and mouse for sure

Unpopular opinion: i feel like he’s stronger/more capable/more badass than he gets credit for like he did, he did in monster world just straight up put his life on the line to protect his friends. he didnt know he’d had a backup to bring him back he was just fully like “no im in control now, die” and was ready to die for it. and it seemed even before that he’d had his little moments undermining yami bakura’s control to sabotage the game. same in the anime version too he is absolutely ready to fight against YB when he had the chance. 👊👊

- whoever plays Childe would have to be a literal murderhobo - whoever plays Bennett is just there for the chaos and good times/shenanagins(cuz any wild magic sorcerer is either there for that or angst) - whoever plays as Signora totally made her the personification “Hot Rogue” trope knowingly and intentionally.  - Whoever plays Albedo just worrying about whether taking Clockwork soul would interfere mechanically and then second questioning it for Draconic bloodline or warlock which could work so much better down the line- but- *continued overthinking* - whoever plays Kaeya is an experienced player who gave the DM 20 pages of backstory and actually helped a number of the others make their characters, but the moment they heard the DM mentioned off-handedly that there weren’t gonna be horses, he immediately went “also he’s the cavalry captain and I’m multiclassing him into cavalier lmao just for the shit of it”  - whoever plays Xiao is.... that guy but whoever plays Zhongli convinced them to try dnd for the first time and had to very much suggest many changes because the first draft for Xiao’s character was literally the “I trust nobody and work alone. also i have no attachment to the world because everyone i know is dead. also no emotions” and poor lore-junkie Zhongli had to be like ‘please you’re being a toxic player trope’ and actually make his character not be totally flat- and did a great job. Eventually Xiao’s player gets into dnd and stops being a bitch but it takes time. - Ningguang’s player is a total fan of reverse tropes- comes to the table like “yeah, I’m playing a barbarian” and it’s the most composed intellectual queen you’ve ever seen. Actually gets lucky and rolls good enough stats to back it up too - Zhongli’s player carefully setting up their character with backstory contracts and restrictions that limit their power in the game before coming to the DM and asking, “if this, this, and this would it be alright if my character is technically a god, I’ve read the lore carefully and have a backstory dating back to the archon war which is open to adjustment if needed. Of course, i would understand if you said no as well” and the DM has had them as a player before and knows they wouldn’t abuse that so they agree to let him be a god. - and the whoever plays Venti and Baal are like: “Shit, they’re a god? can we be gods????” and the DM is just *regret mode* - whoever plays Klee is my hero- probably the chaotic-queerly-arson-obsessed-therapist-friend. RPs Klee so wonderfully and paves the way for a lot of great scenes and the vibes are just immaculate.  - whoever made Beidou is a lesbian, and simps for female pirates. She knows exactly what she did, it was on purpose. - Barbara’s player is kinda new to Dnd and didn’t really get all the mechanics so they chose the main healer so it’d be easier until they got the hang of it- heard while out of character that Venti is a god and kept making Barbara fall for any excuse that he wasn’t cuz she was worried she’d be accused of metagaming. Now she just keeps doing it cuz it’s become a running joke of sorts. - also i think it’d be really fucking funny if the abyss sibling’s character was accidentally killed during session zero and they had to make up a new character in like a couple days. And having put so much work into the abyss sibling they were done. Cue “Fuck it, my new character is a Wolfy boi raised by wolves, and he lives in wolvendom, the place with wolves, on all levels except for physical he is a wolf. He like potatoes and his name is Razor, this is what you get.” - and of course whichever chaotic gremlin created Bennett saw that and was immediately like “oh my god i love that, our characters are friends now” - and then the DM goes and brings back the Abyss Sibling as the BBEG and the one who used to play them is just freaking out because- yeah - Venti’s player continually insists that liking apples is a character trait, but they’re doing it ironically- fuck knows they put a lot of work into designing him.

this isnt quite what you asked but heres what's everyone from chapter 1 has been Up To with a little bit of context (and under a read more bc it got LENGTHY):

kris - professional stay at home teen (they live w/ asgore n help run the flower shop sometimes. this decision was entirely bc i dont like toriel). was wrongly diagnosed w Sudden Soul Rejection when they were incredibly young and given an experimental transplanted soul as a replacement. it works for them fine, give or take having to see gaster once a month for checkups. but sometimes the soul makes them skittish n decides they're going to sit in front of the pc and play 30 consecutive hours of a certain simulation game and not even let them drown people in the pool. if it were entirely up to them, they'd be like. passing out on the sofa to documentaries about bigfoot. or practicing cool knife tricks to impress their friends at their next tabletop meetup

- EDITED IN: the soul is kind of their friend. they are wearing a hypothetical get along shirt. most of the time, they agree on actions and things to do. tends to refer to themself + their soul as we/us which originally was just something they did in their head but they kept slipping in speech/text n just became a Thing of how they talk. switches to 'I/Me' whenever smth is wrong.

asgore - the same. runs a lil flower/gift shop. people come in more to talk with him than to buy flowers most of the time, though

asriel Flowey - he's back in flower form, thanks to the government an accident. causes a lot of technology glitches wherever he goes, and wants revenge. isn't sure how to go about it. asriel "died" around 8 years before the story takes place and kris still misses him and refuses to even THINK about even the IDEA of calling someone their sibling after what happened, just in case it somehow happens a second time

susie - more of the same really. she spends most of her time either at grillby's (she's sort of become his assistant n helps with opening/closing. it just happened) or getting into low-stakes trouble w/ kris

noelle - she's in the city's equivalent of college and shes so tired. shes So Abysmally Tired n got kinda pushed 2 follow in her mom's footsteps. she's rarely around anymore except through text or on monsters & mages (dnd) night. (however.........she will come back w/ a long break n hang out w everyone again)

berdly - tbh i didnt even consider berdly when i made the au initially. idk what he's doing. probably in a similar situation to noelle??? canonically got kicked out of the M&M group due to clashes w/ other players but lurks in their group chat to posts memes sometimes

didnt rly think of any other of kris' classmates (+ their families) after ch1 and probably will continue to not, until chs 3-5 come out and i gotta whip up roles and histories for like. a lotta guys all of a sudden. i also forgot about noelle's parents

sans - runs a convenience store that everyone kind of thinks is a front, but also it has really cheap snacks and the local teens make a point of stopping there after school. so essentially, more of the same papyrus - similar to ut. is a very polite and sweet boy but you'll know when he's coming

grillby - he's back. he runs a bar like back in ut but the cozy vibes and weird-for-a-bar hours keep attracting kids who need parents, so half of his menu is comprised of overly sweet mocktails. usually only frequented by monsters

QC - same as usual. has a "rivalry" with grillbz but, theyre besties and have a book club

mettaton - he's real and he's back. he's similar to how he is back in ut w/ his EX body. likes to hang out at grillby's and talk to unsuspecting fans. has a show for everything

undyne - unfortunately. more of the same. she is a cop in the monster district. i am also upset by this but couldn't think of anything better for her

alphys - a doctor studying under dr. gaster in the hopes she'll one day take over his research. she spends most of her time as a nurse with a bigger title, though, and blocks out the weirdness of her job with anime.

gaster - weird guy. H01's top soul researcher and resident House wannabe. trying to manufacture the ultimate soul that can be controlled with simple internal switches, but so far he's only had 1 (very limited) success with a certain human. monsters just melt, and darkners just sorta......get weird... he's onto Something, though.

ralsei - lonely boy with some very strange hobbies. popular on UnderNet for poetry, baking videos, and general cryptid vibe. is the DM for the monsters & mages group (also seems to think everything is actually very fine in H01 when it is very much not)

lancer - about the same. professional Round Boy. lives w/ rouxls full time. follows susie around like a lost puppy and calls himself her "underling."

rouxls - runs a hotel/casino kind of deal where the objective Bad Guys hang out, and usually ends up doing any of the spade king's paperwork.

spade king - mafia godfather. kind of a dick. don't play cards with him

seam - works with the spade king as his right hand cat more or less because they have for a lot of years and are in that 'sunk cost fallacy' zone. thinks of retiring to a quiet life in the monster section of town like, daily

jevil - used to work with the spade king, but got imprisoned for Crimes. got weird after The Accident (separate from asriel's accident)

temmies (all) - dont really get mentioned except offhandedly but they run the monster space station. so far, are the only monsters who have ever been to space.

as far as chapter 2 goes:

yeah i dont have much so far for characters. in the original version of the au i accidentally made darkners as a whole just kinda..... not great? like all sorts of weird organized crime ties n sort of going out of their way to be A Problem to the city (not even in like. a revolution way. in a working against them but with the same goals kinda way). with the whole context it worked At The Time, bc i just had the spade king to look to as a villain, and also in this au the darkners are just trying to survive a world that ultimately was not built for them (that humans think they own, and monsters sort of... seeing this and wondering what it'll mean for them whichever one wins), but w/ new info abt how the dark world works n more guys to work with i want to kind of. edit the vibe a bit. like yea darkners will ultimately do whatever it takes to take over H01, but maybe in a better way than like. idk. all this. it doesnt have to be peaceful or anything it just has to be more adaptable as we meet more kinds of darkners

however yeah i thought up 'queen as some sort of childless mommy blogger/influencer' and that completely revived all memory i had of this au. she should be on mtt's talkshow. also she sells collectible wine glasses w/ her likeness

spamton is another one of gaster's failed soul experiments, but he hasn't melted yet, and seems............fine? sort of. so he hasn't gotten decommissioned yet. he does want to give you malware tho. hot monster singles in your area n all that

Not my favorite, maaaaybe should’ve done this from Liam’s POV, but TROUSLE DESERVES THE LOVE TOO.

           Trousle wrapped loosely along Alex’s neck, making sure to keep just tight enough to stay on but no more – he didn’t want to hurt her after all! Her skin was warm and she smelled, well… Like she maybe needed a shower, something not helped by a generous sprinkling of literal dirt, as in from the ground, but so long as he kept his tongue in his mouth, it wasn’t too bad. It was hardly her fault, it was hot out there, she was a mammal, and she was wearing as little as was decent: a tank top and shorts. Still, he was trying to think of nice ways to offer the use of their shower system or the Krait pool to her. He didn’t want to be rude, but surely she’d appreciate the chance to get clean as well! Then again, Oozy wallowed in his own slime all the time and seemed content, so maybe some people are just like that (why and how was beyond him). That said, she had a bit of a sweet smell to her too, like fruit and maybe flowers.

           Nikolai was taking the lead, followed closely by Hux. A little too closely – Liam seemed to be the only person Hux ever hurried for without threat. Then again, perhaps Liam getting snappy about being late was enough of a threat to get him to move his tail. Keith was hanging back a little, glancing every now and then at Trousle and Alex, and Oozy was likely only keeping pace because Alex was gifting him head pats. Trousle was tempted to slither down to her hand for some head-pats of his own, but that seemed a little too forward – he didn’t want to come across as desperate! Besides, he was already getting cuddles, no need to be greedy!

           Trousle flicked his tongue out – trying to ignore the twang of dried up sweat – as they grew closer, holding himself up to see as they got close to Liam’s room.

           … he’d gotten into the sour candies again, hadn’t he? The area had that smell to it. Really! How dare he, such a relentless thief! There’s no way he got enough to make that much of a smell legitimately!

           “Liam,” Nikolai said, stopping. “This is Alex, she’s come to play DnD with us.” He moved aside to let Alex step to the front.

           Alex moved forward and Trousle craned to catch her expression. She was looking at Liam’s scales, watching as Liam coiled down from his tree, sliding down to spread out over his hoard of pillows and blankets. He held himself tall, sitting partly back from the glass, and kept his good side forward – though he was wearing the cap meant to cover his skull for once, though the paste used to keep it in place was clearly visible.

           “Her? Well then, do you think you have what it takes, human? We don’t take just anyone you know. I’m not sure you’re up to it.”

           “I mean, we’re playing 5e, right? Is there something I should know?”

           Trousle huffed and quickly typed out, “Liam’s a liar.” Anyone was welcome! Liam couldn’t threaten her, Trousle wouldn’t allow it!

           Liam hissed, narrowing his good eye, “I am not-!”

           Keith chuckled, raising his hands up, “Hey hey… Easy y’all. I mean, we do have session 0’s for a reason, not everyone’s a good fit, but Liam, don’t be a dick.”

           “Hmph,” Liam said, rising up and crossing his arms. “Well then, I suppose we’ll see for oursssselvessss, won’t we?” He was absolutely doing that hiss on purpose, narrowing his eyes dramatically. Trousle had to admit it looked kind of cool.

           Hux nodded along, “Hell yeah. If you’re going to play with the big boys, you better be up to it toots. You think you’ve got game?”

           “Y’know what, maybe I do!” Alex said. “What kinds of characters do you guys play anyways? Need anything in particular, I’m game!”

           “No,” Hux said.

           Trousle searched his mind for what they might need, but… Well, the party was pretty balanced, and story-wise this would be an awkward time…            “I’m thinking of doing a side-campaign,” Keith said. “It’ll be easier than trying to fit ya in, and we can work around it that way. I mean, we don’t meet every night, but most of us, y’know, live here, so we’re kinda together all the time, and I know you can’t do that. That alright?”

           Alex nodded, “Totally! And I get that, my friend group I play with on Sundays all used to live in the same dorm and we’d play baaaasically every night. It was wild man. The basement was really fucking hot though. But that pretty much meant we had it all to ourselves. Man, those were the days…”

           Trousle typed away, “So we’re all making new characters?”

           Keith nodded, “Yeah, why not? We can figure out a theme or gimmick if you guys want too.”

           “Rogue campaign,” Liam said almost immediately.

           “You’re basically a rogue already dude,” Hux said. “You don’t need DnD to be a rogue.”

           “Bard campaign!” Trousle typed, grinning up at Keith hopefully.

           “No,” Hux hissed.

           “Do you have anything you do want to do?” Nikolai said to Hux, rolling his eyes.

           Hux threw his hands in the air, “Well excuse me for thinking a party of only one class is boring!”

           “New friend! What about you?” Trousle asked, precariously situating himself to look at her. Maybe he should move down to her arm, it’s hard to talk to her from her own neck.

           Alex froze, hands grasping and ungrasping in the air, “Um… I mean… I’ve got a lot of characters, but I don’t wanna take the whole thing over… I really like Fae though! I’ve got a little bit of practice in political campaigns, but I’m usually more Roleplay heavy than anything.”

           Keith smiled, coming closer to her. “Sounds fun to me, what about the rest of you?”

           Trousle nodded enthusiastically. Fairies could be so fun! And enchanting~

           “Sounds kinda sissy…” Hux mumbled.

           Liam looked at Alex with a hard to read expression, but slowly it turned into a grin, “I think I like this one, but let’s see if you can put your money where your mouth is.”

           Hux’s eyes widened, “Wait, really?”

           “You like Fae too?” Alex said, stepping closer to the glass around Liam.

           Liam nodded, “Are you kidding me? Magic, politics, contracts, and some interesting morality too. I can work with this.”

           “Can I be a fairy?” Trousle asked, looking at Keith.

           Keith hummed, “Maybe, let’s try to work out a general idea first. C’mon, let’s go get things set up. Nikolai, let ‘im out, will ya?”

           Nikolai nodded, taking some keys from his belt-loop (a belt that he apparently wore solely to attach keys to) and Liam out. Liam made a show of stretching himself out as he joined the group, “About time. Now then, shall we?”

           “Let’s go,” Keith said.

           They all started heading towards the gaming room… also known as the break room, but the humans were going to have to live with it for today, apparently.

ok so my first one is my chaos elf. glenn meldarion is my stupid idiot bitch boy and i love him and he lives in the woods. hes a rogue and hes chaotic neutral, hes 20, hes aroace, and naturally hes an amazing shot with a bow and arrow. also his full name is glennodad gonk meldarion and each of the names has a meaning

i looked up some elvish translator a while ago and “glennodad” translates to “jared”. jared 19

“meldarion” translates to “dave”. so his name is Elf Jared Dave

“gonk” is the name of my worm on a string so his middle name is gonk

theres nothing particularly angsty about glenn, he doesnt have a sad backstory or anything but he sure has a dumb one. so this fuck head ass starts out on a vegetable / fruit farm and hes minding his own business, he hunts for meat and stuff, and what he doesnt eat he sells. so hes got his own little market goin on but hes not exactly the most Popular of the vegetable sellers because yknow everyone and their mom on the edge of town is a vegetable seller so while glenns not selling fruit hes pickpocketing. and ONE DAY he pickpockets a Haughty Noble and gets caught. so this dude is like “ok” and places a little bounty on his head and hes run out of the town by this nobles goons and shit cause He Wants Payback, so up until he finds a home he just bounces around the woods from kingdom to kingdom camping out and shit. and he still pickpockets

my SECOND boy is named cas, full name casteris emsworth, and hes human, hes my beautiful baby son and i love him and hes a druid (circle of the shepherd) !! hes a neutral good, hes 19, hes got himself a little Knife and hes bi !! and hes . very 👀 at this one tiefling of banes (if yall dont know bane thats my partner ^^).............his names lucas and oh boy cas has the Big Gay...............

cas’ main focus in his druidism is just plants. like people have specific focuses for some of their characters, cas just fucking likes plants. he absolutely excels in potions, and he fucks around with alchemy too. he keeps this big ass tome of plant sketches that hes seen on his travels, and he bakes bread when hes stressed and hes really good at writing! and hes fucking terrified of Really Big Fish . 

his backstorys kinda sad but not really fleshed out; he was raised druidic in a kingdom that outlawed magic, his family got Found Out, they were ordered to be executed and cas escaped. usually this is where people would get vengeful and angry and wage a personal war against the kingdom, but cas doesnt have an angry bone in his body and instead went fucking asap to another place to keep practicing in his parents’ names !! he stayed with a cousin until he got a little hut of his own and now hes just Vibing. his main goal right now is to recreate this potion that he did. he was just fucking Mixing Shit and he grew a baby ent. and now hes like. Hellbent on trying to figure out how the FUCK he did that

mathias is the Grumpy Friend who Doesnt Have Time For This Bullshit but he gets roped into a bunch of stupid stuff anyway and its really great. also he has a rebellious streak and hes just Big Punk. or at least as punk as 1394 can get. also i know for a fact that the way he did his top surgery was that he just went up to some magic friend of his and went “de-tit me” and they did and long story short Magic Top Surgery .

also i didnt have a name for him for six months and i called him “motherfucker unlimited” until i named him

aaryn mendalyn is my next character i love her so much shes my triton, and i really want to use her in a campaign soon. shes a monk (way of the open hand), chaotic good, 19, pan as hell, and this bitch has GAUNTLETS !!!!!

and FINALLY my latest and least developed, my DWARF CLARISSA !!!!!!! shes a barbarian, probably neutral, DEFINITELY chaotic, im probably gonna end up making her trans (if i write her character well enough that is. i want to flesh her out to where it makes sense cause i really want to avoid the “barbarian trans woman” stereotype, obviously thats really fucking harmful) and out of the seven she is the ONLY one with a brain cell

12: If they were a potion, what would it look like? (Color, glass shape, smell, etc.)

Taeral as a potion would be thick oil, a couple of leaves yanked from things like banana leaf plants and vanilla. It would look like a low, deep greenish colour with flecks of white and gold inside and it would smell of burnt wood and sea salt.

7: How impulsive is your character?

Not very surprisingly! Taeral tries to think things out before doing them, he is much more a fan of having a plan that just going and doing things on a whim and anything sudden or unexpected, despite he can handle it, does tend to stress him out a fair bit. Unless it's an actual situation where he can't lean against a wall n think of course, then he'll be as impulsive as he likes, but usually thats not a natural reaction to him. Plans before stupid, sudden shit, please and thank you.

Quill:

58: What’s a habit that needs to be broken?

Honestly I'd say Quill's baddest habit is not talking about things and bottling stuff; its a little funny because Quill is kind of an open book so with most things that bother her she usually comes clean pretty quick. As my dear friend Jayson one said, Quill trying to bottle things is like pouring water into a thimble. But the one thing she struggles with is when someone pisses her off or does something she dislikes that makes her specifically hurt or angry she has weird hang ups coming forward to talk about.

I think its something about appearing weak or feeling bad about being hurt by something but she's working on it. It's something that certainly needs to be sorted less another Florence situation arises but thankfully she's doing better with it now.

41: What’s a texture/sound your character cannot stand?

Interesting... hmn. I feel like the sound of like- blacksmith's hammers on metal makes her twitch? Like the consistent plink, plink, plink sound. I also feel in that case the sound of water dripping would drive her fucking insane if left long enough, she loves rain but that has layers to it. It has texture its hitting so many different things and the rhythm is uneven but with a single drip like water dripping from a roof she would hate. Her ears are super sensitive so anything rhythmic sounds would drive her fucking nuts.

Alexandra:

2: Do they consider themselves an optimist? Pessimist? Realist? What are they like in actuality?

Alexandra, herself, would probably consider herself an outright optimist. Even in situations where she's utterly terrified and anxious beyond belief and truly believe theres no way out she will always raise her voice and keep her crew in good spirits, even if she cannot put herself in that place and believe it fully herself she understands its important to have share the minuscule amounts of belief with the people shes working with for it to grow and spread.

I want to say truthfully that shes stuck somewhere between realist and optimist but sticks firmly more to the side of optimistic. She's always looking on the silver lining for things and its very unlike her to struggle in finding even thinly stretched ones. She does her best.

47: Do they consider themselves funny? How do they use humor?

Hmnn... Alex tends to consider herself vaguely funny, she knows she can make people laugh and thats important but she doesn't consider herself like overly hilarious. Folks like Cornelius she'd consider more hilarious than her, better at telling and delivering jokes and sarcasm.

Humor for her often comes off as dry sarcasm with a hint of a smile or a good, healthy amount of teasing but the way she would use it would usually be a show of comfort. She does her best to read folks to make sure making jokes isn't an appropriate thing during the time; but its not too uncommon for her to use humor to make light of a situation that might be difficult for her.

Luther:

69(nice): Which do they value more? Journey or Destination?

OUGHHGHh this is a hard one! Luther's job is being a historian, specifically researching and making information about cultures and places available to people. He loves learning traditions and the ways people did things so long ago and hows its been translated, tweaked and upgraded, had its own little handful spice added to it over the years to make it tied to its roots yet still feel like its progressed and traveled with people throughout the ages.

And in saying this, as much as the destination, finishing a breakthrough and having hard work pay off or even just going through something with someone close to him all for it to end in a satisfying way is a good and wonderful thing. The strides, moments and things that caused that to happen are what make it memorable in its own way and I feel like for Luther's case it'd be the journey.

Sure, he can say that he found out something that led to a breakthrough and ended up discovering something that might otherwise have been missing for years but the time leading up to that, figuring things out with friends, going places and seeing things, the times of laughing and struggling through what seem like impossible puzzles is something he'd hold close and relate to the accomplishment more than the accomplishment itself.
