Stiles gives him a disbelieving look but the hallway is clear and there is only so much time before another patrol comes back.

They dash into the hallway together and the fact that Scott is panting and sweating is about the seventh sign that he's lying about the severity of his injuries. But what else is new?

They're inches away from freedom when something grazes the back of Stiles's back and he tumbles into Scott. Blood pools in his mouth as Scott roars.
