i know I’m not alone in this but my favorite thing mhok did this episode, out of all the sweet things he did, was urge day out of his comfort zone to set a plan with august. it spoke volumes about his character and about his relationship with day. it was just such a refreshing turn of events (that led to a cute practice date sequence)

this ep set up mhokday v. augustday in a way I can really only call “juicy” lmao. day makes excuses for and takes on the onus of talking august down from his flighty and flaky tendencies; mhok is day’s anchor, in a myriad of ways, and when he wasn’t there for day during that scene in the markets, it was of course in no way positioned as day’s responsibility. day had to strive to earn august’s acceptance; mhok’s acceptance has been unconditional even if it took some trial and error for him to understand day (I think their relationship is built on a deepening understanding of each other, fostering this two-way acceptance). day and august were assigned to each other; day chose mhok and mhok chose day. august surreptitiously walks away from day’s feelings; mhok shoulders them despite his own.

we’re shown right off the bat in ep5 that august and day’s relationship strikes something like jealousy in mhok. but this is a grown ass man with a caretaking job. even as he blurs the line between caretaker and suitor he remembers his place—his place as day’s friend and phi even more than as his caretaker imo. above all else he wants to help day push past self-isolating tendencies (look at all the friends who love day! he’s not meant to be holed up in his room!)(and I mean, this is personal for him! not just as someone with feelings for day, but as someone who lived through the suicide of his sister and as someone who had been in jail before).

and the way he reacts to day’s confession of feelings for august—we see that day is not the only heartbroken one here, but mhok doesn’t let day in on that. there are more than a few things he doesn’t let day in on, in this scene lol. he didn’t even divulge the full story of rung’s tragedy (just as day only hinted at what happened between him and night). mhok is just fully present for day as day deals with his own heartbreak. whereas in august and day’s relationship as badminton partners, august’s feelings formed the center of their relationship, and he often left day scrambling just to appease him.

there’s probably some comparison to be made between mhok stepping in and setting up dinner plans for august and day, and august insisting that he will never have another badminton partner if it’s not day. it’s like love v. possessiveness. mhok has this maturity that is really compelling, makes sense with his character, and again is just soooo refreshing

mhok has made a few self-deprecating comments about lacking tenderness, a hang-up informed by his past and by his sister’s suicide, but damn if this man isn’t the paragon of devotion idk what he is. and because of all this, because we’re seeing mhok place his feelings second to caring for day, i am of course looking forward to seeing mhok’s feelings prioritized alongside day’s and his insecurities addressed as the series progresses. in conclusion, what a mensch

#im also looking forward to his smoker lung ass doing a run with day lol #last twilight #anyway u can once again find me in Aof’s walls #i feel like I’m really not a meta writer unless it’s bad buddy bullshit and ESPECIALLY before a series has fully aired #but damn this show got me #i write this as a jealousy and possessiveness lover btw i think those are juicy too #and i LOVE absolutely everything august is bringing #but everything mhok does is in line with what we have learned about him and it’s satisfying #to see stellar character work like this

Ripples ran through his form and he was gone in a heartbeat– rivers of smoke spilling to the floor, seeping through seams, dripping to the deck bellow and past the rails, cascading to the pitch black waters that surrounded the ship.

Shouts sounded from above.

Translucent smoke drifted inches above the sea waves in a layer so thin it ripped– before sealing itself again. It stretched far, looking too much like a morning mist.

He struggled to maintain physical form, swirls of smoke blooming everywhere across his body. His face a distorted mass of thick white.

Trailer park au for plug!dabi, he’s the one who’s planting that shit up in his trailer slinging it round the park and wherever he can and he doesn’t get caught— well he does but he leaves no witnesses unless they’re his clientele or want to become it.

Dabi can make a good ehhh 4-5k a week, maybe a week and a half. His za is fuckin potent like that shit is so strong you could get high from just drive by fumes.

And idk if it’s his quirk or what the fuck ever, but he could smoke about three full blunts before he gets high, the average person can last a half a blunt. Dabi is on snoop’s level almost.

But DONT!! I repeat DONT!! Forget your debts if he left you with any, cuz to that nigga that’s just a free kill, he don’t care about no excuses.

He’ll probably run up in the house when your kids is sleeping or your partner’s shaving, but he’d want them to be awake to watch what he’d do to them, before passing the debt down to them on some sadistic shit. Zoro stares at you as you stopped for the third time today to pet a black kitten this time. He doesn’t see the appeal & doesn’t understand why you love cats so much. He looks around making sure you two are still out of any enemy attack, before he approaches you. He gasps a little when he sees you open your bag to feed the animal with some treats specially made for them.

-Do you just walk around hoping to fall on a cat?

He asks in his usual stern voice. You look over your shoulder and laugh when the realization hits. You couldn’t help but soften, faced to those adorable animals. You would take them all on the ship with you if you could.

-I do be giving this impression, huh?

-Yeah,… you really seem to like them.

-They are so cute don’t you think??

You exclaim while picking up the cat in your hands and showing it to him. He furrows his eyebrows, before looking away uninterested.

-Nah, don’t get it.

-You’re always so grumpy, a bit like a cat.

-Are you comparing me to that thing??

-A thing?? It’s so cuteee!! Look! It even has a scar on its eye just like you! What are the odds!

Zoro’s cheeks slightly flush embarrassed by your comparison, while the cat and him stare at each other. He scoffs as your words ring in his head. He doesn’t see the ressemblance and doesn’t want to. A pirate like him looking like a kitten? You must be out of your mind.

-Let’s go, the others are waiting.

He says quicken up his pace as he walks away from you, still flustered. He hears your laugh echo again and soon after, your arms wrap around his as you look at him with big eyes.

-Do you think the cat is a fighter too?

He gives you a bit of a side eye wondering where you find those type of questions. He shrugs his shoulders as a smirk cover his face.

-He must be the strongest, if so.

Maybe he will consider making space for a cat in your shared cabin, maybe…

Law

Law sighs as he sees you once again bend down to pet a cat. He’s always a bit in a hurry as he’s a busy man, in his words. So he does find it inconvenient that you have this habit. The crew is walking not too far behind and he hopes to not waste any more time in this village after buying everything they needed.

-Are you done?

He asks softly, but it still comes off with an annoyed undertone and his stoic facial expression doesn’t help. You straighten your back as you give him a bit of his attitude back.

-Nah

You retort while putting your tongue out and hugging the cat in your arms.

-The cat has an ear missing..They need a doctor!

Laws mouth stays open for a little a bit speechless. He cocks an eyebrow as he looks at you.

-It’s a stray cat, they are made strong.

-Pfff, not very doctor of you, Trafalgar.

You reply while scrunching a little your nose unsatisfied with his answer. Law rubs the bridge of his nose, before getting a better look of the cat.

-Im a doctor for humans …. The ears seems like an old scar that have already been healed, so don’t worry.

He adds as he notices your uneasy expression. You smile and ruffle with the tip of your finger the fur on top of the cat’s head, happy with the news. You thank him, before letting the cat go.

-Stay safe~

You say to the cat with caring eye as you watch it walk away. Law watches with a fond smile. You take his hand and with the crew, you make your way back home.

Smoker

He exhales a cloud of smoke as he cocks an eyebrow to you petting a cat that crossed by you two.

-Isn’t it so cute!!

You exclaim with an excited expression as you focus on the small creature in front of you. You reach for your bag where you find your camera and click couple of pictures.

-What are you doing? We are wasting time.

-Im taking pictures for souvenirs!

-Of cats ?

He retorts, lowkey judging you. He thinks the behaviour is a little childish, especially when you two needs to be attentive at all time for any pirates that can cause trouble. But here you are, taking pictures of cats and petting them.

-Yeah, why not? Want me to take some of you?

You say with a teasing smirk and you stare at him this time. The man blushes a little flustered and shakes his head.

- This isn’t very professional.

-Ohh, relaaax. If some idiots want to cause trouble we don’t need to worry if you are here right ?

-U-uh yeah…

You conclude with a cocky smile, satisfied as you pet another cat under the man’s confused eyes.

HELLO HI let me start this off by saying i love your posts so so much they are so silly

Anyways since opla season 2 has been confirmed, what are some things you REALLY want to see? Im genuinely curious

so i'm assuming they will start off with loguetown and end with alabasta. i'm hoping that since the first season was so successful netflix will order a FEW more episodes (ideally ten or more) but I have to stay realistic so I know every detail won't translate to screen

a lot of the anime loguetown arc was filler (zoro mopping the marine's floors, luffy running around lost and drinking milk at a bar, sanji entering a random cooking competition) and I know there's a few things they're unlikely to skip (zoro aquiring kitetsu & hopefully throwing the sword in the air to see if it'll chop his arm off, luffy on the executioner's platform, smoker) but i really they have time for

-nami n usopp bonding. especially the moment where usopp faced off against daddy the parent bc not only was nami there supporting him/willing to fight for him, but it also was a glimpse into his complicated relationship with his father. daddy the parent quit his job so he could spend more time with his daughter, while yasopp completely abandoned usopp. it was also so cute when they were fangirling over sanji together -i'm so excited to see inaki laughing with his head in the stocks seconds away from death I just know he's going to devour that scene -there probably won't be time but it would be funny if we see luffy n zoro on their lunch date with a combined zero dollars in their pocket and buggy ends up covering their bill without knowing who they were -i'm can't wait to see who they cast as smoker!!!! their casting has been honestly great so far so i'm looking forward to the reveal

I know in the grand scheme (at least from a standalone season perspective) he's not that important to the plot. but by god !!!! give us the depressed whale that luffy gives the will to live back to!!!! practical effects are very important to the one piece team I think they can figure it out

whiskey peak is going to be controversial but I hope luffy n zoro's fight goes EXACTLY like it does in the anime & manga (aka they're so in sync that they're punches are meeting in the middle and they're yelling in unison & five minutes later they're laughing about the prospect of meeting a warlord). this arc also requires the writers to let zoro have his funny guy routine because him hecking the agents is so good

while I don't know if we'll see zoro fighting a triceratops and saying "oh so u do three sword style too" we NEED to see him do his stupid pose in the wax. season ruined if not. (jk but its very high on my list)

Hey girlie I love your fics so much and the way you write. I’m not the person that should tell you how to write your stories. It’s your fanfic and you do what you want with it but I also think that sometimes writers don’t realize what they exactly put in their fanfics. I’ve noticed in your recent fic that you write a lot about how y/n smokes. It gets mentioned so much to the point that I feel you are romanticizing smoking. You sometimes even put aesthetic pictures of it. Idk if it’s really that important to the story. Smoking is really unhealthy and if someone wants to do that then it’s their decision but it shouldn’t be something that should be romanticized at all. It’s not cool or aesthetically pleasing or wtv. I don’t wanna be *that* person and tell you how to write your stories but I’ve just noticed this and wanted to make you aware of it. Ofc it’s completely up to you what you do with this info. Maybe the smoking is important to the story later idk. This is not hate at all just something I wanted to tell you 💞 this is also the only “bad” thing about your fics I absolutely love everything else I can’t wait for Sunghoon and y/n to finally admit their hidden feelings for each other!!!

in response to your concern, i don't really know what to tell you. in no way am i romanticising anything and if the frequent mention of smoking – which is part of y/n's character – makes it seem like i'm doing that, then the constant mention of everyone partying and getting drunk should also be considered romanticising something that's not good for you.

at this point i just wanna say that this is all just fiction and i'm not responsible for other people's interpretation of certain aspects in my story. it's a college!AU and that's why these aspects seem quite normal to me.

in no way am i trying to dismiss or belittle your worries and i genuinely appreciate you coming to me with this, it's just that in my opinion people need to learn how to handle fictional stories and not let it get to them or affect their lives and choices.

when it comes to the topc of romanticisation, i'd have to cut out most of the warnings in every single one of my stories bc talking about it or incorporating it into my story would be romanticising it and i dont think that's the point of writing. (do you know what i mean?)

i am a smoker myself so i guess im kinda self indulging here and i'm okay with that. i'm not romanticising anything and as a 23 year okd woman i'm very much aware of the dangers and risks smoking comes with.

i dont even know where i was going with this, it's just that i understand your concern and i'll try and not mention it as much (tbh i barely ever mentioned it anyway) but that's it.

a random thought: crocomom theory is wild as hell and likely never going to happen for a litany of reasons but i am (jokingly) holding out hope that oda goes "you know what fuck you" and decides one day to destroy the one piece reddit once and for all bc it would be really really funny

i have 15 wips (as in things i’ve already started not things i need to do 😭) they’re for a bunch of characters. a mix between jjk and one piece (zoro, gojo, toji, sabo, sanji, baby 5, nanami, who’s who, robin, ace)

the ones i haven’t started are for geto, choso, smoker & tashigi, & mahito + other repeats 😮‍💨

11. do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

i am very stubborn and i write scenes in order even if i’m experiencing a block. then i just won’t work on it. but my writing prof said something valuable the other day. he said:

“when i have writers block i just lower my standards because sometimes you learn more by finishing a piece than starting it”

and that really resonated with me. he’s very cool. sometimes you just gotta trust your intuitive knowledge of the language instead of judging it before you even put it on the page.

Finally saw the Trailer for Vox Machina season 2. I really, really wanted to hate that show. Something about a bunch of nerds making money & fame off of their "nerd-cred" triggers a nerve reserved for my Wil Wheaton hatred (It's feature, not a bug considering how much bad content there is in that genre).

Vox is against my instincts good. Very good. If the D&D movie copies even half of what it has going for it, it could be a pretty successful IP. There was not many Fantasy TV & Movies being done well in America that wasn't called Game of Thrones. They were one of the first Animated series to break that. Certainly the first to not be some bleak mess.

So Willow is a damn fun series. It's D&D Teens with Dad & his weird friends.

If you consider the primal love of the fantasy genre resides somewhere, painted on the side of a van? This is a great outcome.

Willow the movie was great because it was a generic fantasy universe; Mad Madigan, Mordred the Witch, a baby that is supposed to be the chosen one. An A-level Production of B-level film.

The new Willow series is all that in weekly hour long format. It honestly feels kinda like Buffy the Vampire Slayer with a gigantic budget and no monster of the week pacing. I mean, just go and look at the dialog throughout this scene from this week's episode:

hey you amazing human you! I hope you are here with love and positivity; you can leave your negative vibes at the door because they are like, totally not needed here! Let me start off with a few assumptions— First one being, we don’t know eachother… so I guess I should introduce myself..? K well that’s easy. My name is Melissa, and well going on the assumption that we don’t know eachother; I’m thirty years old and most likely the most pessimistic optimist in the world. LOL. I am easily what you’d call a writer; someone who genuinely enjoys literature, poetry and the simple act of writing with a royal blue inked pen on a fine crisp piece of paper. Aside from writing, there are few other things I both enjoy and succeed in, I mean if you ask what my interests are in regards to what I am actually capable of….? Oooooor maybe that’s just the clinical depression talking ..? That’s another thing I should probably introduce early on; I am an unbelievably strong advocate for mental health support and ending any stigma that may prevent any kind of healthy mental recovery. Again, another thing I should inform , or introduce is that personally I have [currently] battled with ADHD, Clinical Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Agoraphobia and Bipolar 2 Disorder.. (and Cronic Physical Pain ) for the last decade of my life. I have been through it all, when it comes to mental health — I see a psychiatrist, I’ve cried my fair own fair emount of unnessecary tears; ive spent weeks in bed because there was ‘no point’ to get out.. I spent time in the mental ward at Bluewater Health (which im sorry, but was a joke), faking my way through the week stay because I needed right the fuck out of there, and ive spent my time down “medication-change-emotion-spiral alley thinking, this is how my life ends”. I will always fight for mental health both because I truly believe it is a thing ,and simply because not enough people do , and I don’t think that is okay. I am an avid weed smoker, like snoop dogg style and I legitimately could not give a smaller fuck about what anybody thinks about it because—-smoking weed has honestly given me SUCH a life to live back.. A life that I thought only mountains and mountains of drugs would give me. (you know, the other kind of drug) which I've since learned is not necessary. I live in an apartment in the small smelly Sarnia , Ontario with my beautiful sister Carrissa and out overabundance of pets! I, like every other person in this world, have a story to tell. Now, whether you’d like to follow along is your choice, but I have been through my own personal hell and back and I think that I have come a very far distance from where it had all begun. Usually, on a given day— I try to document each of my days in my paper journal, and when I do, i [usually] take a daily picture to go with it. Now, you are more than welcome to an invitation to join and follow my journey into [what is foaled to be] recovery; honestly the more the merrier. Any love and support of any kind that I have received from any body else literally lifts me to such high spirits, and throughout my journey I can’t even explain just how much love I have truly gotten and how many receiving hands and hearts I have had offer their support. With that said, I do not write romantic/sexual ships between blood related characters and ASL or romantic ships with Luffy, as I see him as asexual and aromantic.

This doesn't have to be about your fic and you don't have to answer if you don't want to but how do you imagine Chris and Matthew from Truncheon's backstories to be? I think people usually go with the idea that Matthew is likely the guy who went to a higher-ranking University but dropped out, whereas Chris is the more laid-back of the two, which I think fit with what we got of them in the one episode. Also, do you have any specific ideas or headcanons about Jess's life in Philly as an adult after he settles into Truncheon after the original Gilmore Girls series?

LMAO I HAVE CHRIS AS THE NEUROTIC HIGH STRUNG POT SMOKER AND MATT AS THE STRESSED OUT ASSHOLE WHO’S ULCER HAS AN ULCER!!!!!!! they are the most chaotic duo. they actually can’t stand each other in twwc but also would die for each other. they think they don’t work well together but they do (jess is definitely the glue tho). i actually picture Chris as like. an ex-computer nerd whose dad was in IT or something and wanted him to go into computer science in college, but Chris has always been more interested in literature/art. matt is a complete perfectionist when it comes to everything, and he can be a little touchy at first but warms up to everyone eventually. as far as hcs for jess’s life in Philly: I’d say there’s definitely a lot of nights at the bar with the truncheon crew, but more often than that there are nights spent drinking coffee after coffee and writing, and writing, and writing some more. he spends most of his time indoors at the office and emerges at night when the city is lit up for a burger or pancakes at ihop (I have truncheon situated right across the street from an ihop in twwc pls. im hfnfnf). he’s totally nocturnal. his days off are never days off. he spends them working, but from home, or from one of the upstairs bedrooms in the office. also truncheon’s upstairs definitely has a commons with a little kitchen where they all make breakfast and have pretentious debates about fuckin. lolita. stephen king’s weak areas as a writer (i.e. women). etc etc
