today is just one of those days where waiting sets very heavily on top of your shoulders that it almsot breaks your bones. patience is a 1000 degress firey monster that can melt your flesh away in a second. you feel like you've overstayed your welcome in your family's house and your free trial is over and is now the time to pay your overdue rent. their love will no longer be for free. whatever friends you have left are distracted living their own lives cherishing their own separate friends and can't find the time to include you. yet you can't blame anyone because it's your time to be tested. it's your time to be stripped away of whatever little support system you have to see if you're a true believer on your own or is it only a group project sort of thing. but you know it's not easy and loneliness is a big fat bitch that sits on your neck almost crushing your wind pipe.

#writing this made me realize that having inconsistent love in my life is exactly what my test is #and realizing that made me feel truly at ease because I know that Allah will left this hardship and give me even better than i ever asked f #if i accepted the test and was content with it #i thought Journaling was western nonsense but honestly writing down your feelings helps you process it and see things clearer #i won't complain about this again hopefully because it's been a common theme through the past 10 years #and i have done nothing but conplain not realizing that it's actually my test and all i could ever done to make things better is to accept #wow im such a slow learner lmaooo #i didn't want to post this but honestly it's just there to remind me of my progress whenever i feel down again #and to document this moment of breaking through

I hate when people who have never put any effort into drawing or art tell me i'm gifted/talented at it. they often say things like "I wish I could draw/I can't even draw a straight line/I always wanted to but was never good at it"

nearly 30 years of practice and hard work with nothing to show for it is not being gifted or talented! i've always felt this way no matter what age I was

I especially think this when I see artists younger than me who have more success. they're more likely "talented" or i'd be as good and successful as them, right? be better at art than I am now with less practice and work? if I was so "talented" i'd be way better at art by now and have some kind of success, right? be able to quickly and effortlessly produce beautiful work?

I feel like art is an absolute struggle every time I do it. it doesn't come "naturally" or effortlessly. it takes me forever to finish even a simple sketch. I struggle the entire time. it's so hard. someone "talented" probably wouldn't feel this way and say art is easy. the difference between me and being "talented" is I work hard and still struggle.
