One thing that bugs me every time i rewatch tlok is that one scene in book 3 where tenzin tells korra about the time when she was little, explaining how the red lotus tried to kidnap her. So, he, korra's father, sokka, and zuko went to rescue her and stopped the attack, locking the red lotus in their respective prisons.

Although my little zukka brain thrives with the fact that zuko is supposedly just there, chilling in the south pole post-retirement or whatever, i really think it would have been much better if insted of him, it was katara the one fighting alogside the others. It would have made so much more sence because one- she is one of the most powerful waterbenders on earth therefore totally has the power and skills to stand againts the red lotus, and two- yes, you can argue that she might still be greeving over her husband's passing but i think if sokka, zuko and tenzin were able to be there and help in the battle it wouldn't be much of problem for katara to be with them too. Aang is best friend and a family to both sokka and zuko and tenzin's literal father. If they were ready and willing to fight, so could she.

And isn't trying to protect korra also trying to protect her family in some sort of way? Katara was clearly very enthusiastic about teaching korra waterbending as a child, why won't she stand up against the red lotus for her, too?

It's disheartening to see how both the comics and tlok seem to sideline katara's character as if her contributions were not significant. Like she just isn't that important in the first place. It’s just awfully depressing tbh.

i got a seizure from watching Avatar 2 and now I can’t drive for six months

We're going to take an unpopular stance here. I liked the live action Avatar the Last Airbender.

No snapping! I'll admit there are issues. Most of them for me are "we have one season to prove ourselves with this.". Does that wave everything away? No. Can I be a snarky bitch if I choose to be? Yes I can. But right now, I like it. I want to see what can come next.

Despite the issues and plot points/missing plots/holes - I liked it. It's never going to be a shot for shot of the origins cartoon - cartoon to live action is just a mess waiting to happen.

The bending was cool, we could see the night shots, the music was cool, the actors did their best. Loved how things melded together. It's a cool adaptation of the original. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Someday the trend of adapting animated series/movies into live action will stop and I'll finally be free

Aaaaa social situations hard

#he speaks #im in a social NIGHTMARE lmao #its my gf's sisters bday #and this event was described as a “family dinner”#which im like oki cool dinner with gf's mum and two sisters #but them i found out it was not that #it was in fact not only with her mum's new boyfriend #it was being held AT THE BOYFRIENDS PARENTS HOUSE WITH THEM THERE #and just to make matters worse #her mum was running late to the thing so i was like nuh uh we waiting outside til the mum gets here #but apparently her mum called the boyfriends parents to TELL THEM we were outside #and so the parents WALKED DOWN THE STREET TO LOOK FOR US AND BRING US INSIDE WITHOUT ANYONE ELSE THERE #so i had to make awkward conversation with these people IVE NEVER MET #then they arrived #but halfway through food something happened and gfs mum had to go home to get something for the sister #and my gf was staying in the bedroom with her sister #LEAVING ME ONCE AGAIN ALONE WITH THE RANDOM PEOPLE #i am now sitting next to them on the couch on my phone while yheyre watching avatar 2 #i want to leave #but we cant until gfs mum comes back #which could take anywhere from 10 mins to another hour #depending on how long it takes to find the thing #fuck this is awful im stressing so much my anxiety is BAD #not bad enough for it to show on my face or anything #but still internally im SUFFERING

Like. The whole point is that he is the descendant of both Sozin AND Roku, which means -- contrary to what he thought -- he has the capacity to choose good or to choose evil, and when he chooses good, he breaks the cycle. Making him illegitimate erases that aspect of his struggle during the series.

finally FINALLY finished watching the legend of korra. it only took me LITERALLY ten years

#tbh lok doesn't make me feel the same way atla does but that isn't necessarily a bad thing #i wish there was more focus on martial arts and history but i understand why there wasn't #history and tradition was EXTREMELY important to aang in ways that it was NOT to korra #i also wish we had seen more silly things about korras childhood but again they were telling a different story so i understand why not #they introduced a lot of new things w this one and i think pro bending was my favorite #cause it was one of the few things that WAS focused on martial arts it was just focused on like. boxing and mma #which is REALLLY fucking cool to see #i have critiques about mako's character but watching him fight was always so much fun because he is straight up mma fighting #for that to be depicted in a show that focused heavily on traditional martial art is so cool to me idk #bolin did it too but earthbending didn't lend itself quite so visually for the same effect #i also ALSO wish the stuff with amon had lasted longer than one season #a big part of atla is that aang is working the whole show to defeat ONE enemy #it felt like there was a new big bad each season #if they went amon -> the red lotus -> the earth empire -> unalaq in terms of season progression #i feel like the stakes would've been paced better yknow??? like the fight against vatuu should've been a Big Fucking Thing #what do i know tho lol #anyway im very excited for the upcoming movie and also the next avatar series #apparently the movie was set to release in 2025 and the series after that but. we'll see
