a/n: hi this is for my bb @coolboy-goshiki​ <33 she requested this a while back and i took an eternity or two to get to it oopsies asdjfk. but bb i’m so proud of you and ilysm yeah yeah!! also atsumu has very golden retriever bf vibes in this and he is thriving HAHA

“you’re home!” his voice greets you before his silhouette does.

you grin as you hear your boyfriend jogging over to you from the kitchen

his eyes are sparkling at your arrival, warming you from the fall weather that finally started to arrive this week.

“and you are..” you’re able to finally get a good look at your partner and the sight gives you a good laugh. “dude, you're a mess.” there’s flour all over his apron, face, and how it even got in his hair is a mystery you can’t wait to hear. it’s clear he was baking.

“dude?” he repeats, scrunching his nose. “i’ll have ya know that your dude just made you the best cookies you’ll ever have in your life,” he gives you a cheeky grin and holds his hand out for you to take, “come on.”

he leads you to the dining room so you can sit and be served these surprise cookies.

“so why the cookies?” you ask as he moves around setting the table.

he finishes and takes the seat across from you. “they’re for you!” his eyes twinkle again and make you smile. “i’ve been so proud of you and i wanted to do a little somethin’ for you.”

“really?” you give him a grateful look, he really has been so supportive through this whole journey.

“really!” his expression is overcome with a sudden nervousness as you take a cookie and move to take a bite. “but if they’re not good don’t tell me ’m sensitive.”

“but you said they’re going to be the best cookies of my life,” you point out and laugh before munching on the cookie. and it’s delicious. “tsumu, they’re so good!”

he collapses against the chair and lets out a deep breath. “oh, thank goodness, i was nervous for a second while makin’ ‘em.” he grins when he hears your chuckle.

“why? you’ve always been a good baker.”

“true,” he smirks, pretty prideful of his baking talent. “wait, but this isn’t about me - plus i made a little speech,” he theatrically clears his throat before giving you a sincere look, a small smile apparent as he speaks, “you’ve been working so hard and doin’ so well, doin’ your lesson plans on top of your school work. i can see how tiring it is at times but you always keep going and doing your best. and i’m so proud of you. the kids at the school love you a ton and i love the way your eyes light up when ya tell me the cute, funny, stories each day. i just know you’re going to be an amazing teacher.”

you feel your energy recharge even after your long day as your heart warms from your partner’s words. you smile at him sitting across from you, his personalized apron still tied around him, his hair disheveled, giving you a goofy grin, flour still on his cheek.

“you’re so sweet, baby,” you stand up to reach over to wipe the flour off with a napkin, “thank you.” you give him a couple quick pecks and a longer kiss for good measure.

he coughs and tries to hide his fluster - cutie. he picks up a cookie and starts munching in. when his blush dies down a bit he tells you, “i’m serious though. and when you get your own classroom i’m gonna to help ya decorate it however you want.”

you arch your brow playfully, “yeah? well then thank you in advanced.”

“absolutely!” he starts spitting out ideas for his vision, different themes you could do. and he makes an adamant statement about finding the perfect picture of the two of you that you can put on your desk, one that highlights his best angles. “oh! and i’m gonna to get ya a bunch of personalized school supplies with your name on it. i’m talking pen, pencil sharpener, stapler. and a hole puncher.”

you giggle, “and a hole puncher? you spoil me.”

he nods and smiles. “you deserve it. and you better get used to it, love, me spoilin’ you rotten. forever.”

forever with atsumu sounds nice. very nice.
