Author's Note: Sort of a continuation of 'Cake' although this can be read on its own too. And this is for those who want to watch KARD's 'Cake' Dance Practice.

Your cover of KARD's 'Cake' with Jungwon was coming out today and you couldn't be more nervous than you were right now.

You were a good singer but definitely felt pretty self-conscious covering 'Cake', as both Somin and Jiwoo's voices are so unique and you were scared you wouldn't be able to match their energy.

Probably the biggest thing you were scared of was the reaction of fans and netizens. You had hinted at your special video about two weeks ago; during a live a fan commented asking for all of your members to give a spoiler as to what they had planned for their 2nd anniversary gift to fans, and you mentioned doing a hot dance cover with a male idol. Everyone was going crazy trying to figure out who this male idol could be but nobody had any clue which made you more nervous. You were hoping you and Jungwon didn't receive too much backlash for this.

The only part of this whole collab with Jungwon you were confident about was the dance. You're the main dancer of your group and this style of choreography is what you're best at. But even though you were positive from the beginning that you'd kill the choreo, you were constantly getting flustered and it was all because of Jungwon.

Jungwon's only condition to helping you with this collab was that you'd go on a date with him and give him a chance. He'd been pinning after you for a while at that point, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try right?

And so you did. The day after that conversation took place Jungwon had planned a very romantic date with you. First he took you to this beautiful rooftop garden cafe in the heart of Gangnam. Then, staying on the nature theme, he took you to a rose garden nearby. You two walked around for a bit and talked, enjoying this one on one time with each other. After enjoying the garden and clicking a few pictures, you two made your way into Hongdae for the night as that night there was a cultural food festival happening with street food from all around the world. Jungwon knew how much you loved learning about different cultures, and you were both foodies, so it was the perfect end to a perfect date.

After that you two didn't talk about where you'd go from there anymore. You two had gotten quite busy with this collab, as you had less than a month to learn the song, record it, then learn the dance, record it.

But Jungwon didn't make it easy for you. Grabbing your waist and hips whenever he'd walk by you, pecking your lips while resting his hand on your ass after each run through of the song, hugging you from behind as you monitored the recordings, hugging you and hiding his face in your neck when he got turned on from dancing, grazing his hand against your chest, holding your hand whenever he got the chance, and leaving sweet kisses on your cheek to encourage you. And let's not forget the nicknames and the praises he'd give you after a successful practice. "You did a good job princess", "What do you think baby, we can go one more time right?", "Wow, you do that move really well my pretty girl", "Good girl, you did well".

It was pure torture for your heart and your hormones.

So yeah the video was coming out today and you were nervous. I guess you're expecting Jungwon to be nervous too right? I mean ENGENES might go insane seeing this and he might be scared of receiving a lot of backlash.

Wrong.

Since he woke up this motherfucker had the biggest shit eating grin on his face, prancing around his dorm just counting down the minutes before the video is released.

Finally it was time so all of ENHYPEN sat around the living room, pulling the video up on their TV.

"Alright~," Jake cheered. "I'm so excited, let's go." He pressed play and all the members focused on the video.

Everyone pretty much had the same reaction as the video went out. Most of the members were pretty quiet, jaws slack except for the occasional gasps and small commentary. Sunoo's hand was over his mouth and he was the one talking the most, things like "Jungwon-ah seriously?! Wah this is too much!" leaving his mouth. Niki just kept laughing while Jungwon sat there with the proudest smirk on his face.

After it ended he paused the video. "So, what did you all think of our collab?"

Jay just shook his head with a shocked expression on his face. "Man.. I don't know how you were able to keep your cool Won-ah."

Heeseung hummed, eyes still trained on the now black TV screen. "I don't know what I'd do if I was the one in your place.. I'd probably be too nervous to even go through with it."

Jungwon wasn't stupid and he wasn't blind either. You're beautiful, you're hot, you're desirable. He knew his members thought so as well but they had never expressed it that much until today.

Jake bit his lips and rolled his eyes, slouching on the couch and almost falling off of it as he groaned. "Don't put that image in my mind Hyung! God I wish she asked me instead of Jungwon. She's so hot I would feel so honored if she asked me to do this dance with her."

"You wouldn't know what to do with her," Sunghoon teased.

"And you would?" Heeseung scoffed. "If anything, it would be me or Jay if not Jungwon."

"What about me?" Niki suggested. "I'm the best dancer out of all of you."

Sunoo glared at him and hit his shoulder. "You're still a baby."

Niki shrugged. "Still know when to appreciate a pretty girl though."

Jungwon clenched his jaw, deciding if he should step in now and use his leader card or not. Technically you two weren't official yet so he couldn't even prevent his members from fanboying over you.

"Stop it guys," Jungwon lightly scolded. "We shouldn't talk about her in that way."

"Oh you don't get a say in this," Jay defended. "You got the luckiest out of all of us, let us fanboy in peace."

"Well hurry up," he sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "She's coming over soon and I don't want her to hear you guys objectifying her."

Jake's eyes widened at his leader's words. "Eh?! Y/N is coming here?!"

Jungwon nodded. "Yeah, we're hanging out."

Jungwon wanted to tell them that this was technically a 2nd date, but he didn't know if you wanted anyone to know you two are seeing each other yet.

Jake screamed excitedly and started hitting Heeseung's shoulder. "Hyung! Hyung! Do you think I should ask her out?"

Jungwon's eyes widened. Jake liked you??

Heeseung had his arms crossed and he just laughed amusedly at Jake. "You really think you're her type? I'm her bias!

"Actually she biases me too," Jay corrected.

"Actually she biases all three of us.." Jungwon mumbled but no one heard him.

Jake nodded. "But she said in an interview that she finds Australian accents the hottest, specifically Brisbane accents. And where am I from? Brisbane Australia, that's right baby~."

"She also likes tall guys older than her," Heeseung said. "I'm the tallest and oldest here."

"We have more things in common and our values match the best," Jay argued.

Sunghoon just crossed his arms and laughed, shaking his head at the craziness ensuing. He eyed Jungwon who was sitting there with a pout on his face and laughed even more. "Imma stay out of this one, looks like she has enough suitors after her anyways."

Of course Sunghoon thought you were pretty and would have liked to get closer to you in a romantic setting, but under different circumstances. He was one of Jungwon's roommates, Sunghoon along with Niki and Sunoo knew well Jungwon had a huge crush on you.

The three eldest continued bickering as Jungwon just sat there listening to them, his mood having been completely shifted from earlier. This went on until the doorbell rang and everyone froze.

"Shit," Jake said. "That's her isn't it? Fuck do I look good?"

"Why would you need to look good when I'm the one she needs to focus on," Heeseung retorted as he opened his phone camera to fix his hair.

"Yah someone get the door don't make her wait!" Jay yelled.

Being closest to the door Niki got up to open it for you. "Hey Noona," he greeted.

"Hi Niki!" you chirped. You walked inside and took your shoes off, seeing all the guys sat there. "Ah, you're all here, hey!"

Everyone greeted you as you placed your bag down. You expected Jungwon to be more enthusiastic seeing you but all he did was mutter a 'hello'.

"Hey Y/N!" Jake greeted. "Come sit here."

You were gonna sit next to Jungwon, but seeing there's more space near Jake you went there instead.

Completely missing how Jungwon balled his fists up.

"So we just watched your collab with Jungwon," Jay started. "You both did really well! And you looked absolutely stunning by the way."

You blushed from the pair of 8 eyes on you. "Th-thank you Oppa.."

"Yah, are we making you blush?" Heeseung asked smirking.

"N-no!" you firmly denied but your sudden red cheeks gave it away. "It's just... hot."

"It's 'cuz I'm next to you huh," Jake teased making you giggle.

Jungwon rolled his eyes and stood up abruptly, making everyone look to him but his eyes were only on you. "I'll be in my room. Let me know when you wanna hang out with me."

Everyone stopped what they were doing, exchanging weird glances before they went back to some other topic of conversation. You couldn't focus so you also got up, excusing yourself as you made your way to Jungwon's room and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

You walked in and saw him laying down in his bed, scrolling through his phone. "Hey Won.."

He glanced at you then went back on his phone. "What's up?"

"You okay?" You didn't want to bother him incase he was mad at you so you opted to sit on the edge Sunghoon's bed. "You just kinda up and left.. barely acknowledged me too."

Jungwon spared you another glance before he sighed and sat up, swinging his legs over so he was also on the edge of his bed. "If you're gonna come and check on me, at least don't do it while sitting on another man's bed."

You immediately realized what was wrong, getting up and sitting right next to Jungwon. You boldly grabbed his hand and caressed it. "Jungwon-ah, what's going on? I feel like you don't wanna hang out anymore."

He let out another sigh as he gathered his feelings. "Sorry Y/N I.. I just got j-jealous.."

"Jealous? Of me sitting next to Jake? I wanted to come next to you but he offered and –"

"Not just that," he interrupted. "Before you came we were watching the 'Cake' dance cover, and my Hyungs seemed to have really taken a liking towards you."

You raised your eyebrows in amusement. "Is that so?"

He nodded as a pout started forming on his pink lips. "Then Jake Hyung said he wanted to ask you out."

"What?!" you said shocked. "Jake wants to ask me out??"

Jungwon glared at you. "Yah.. why do you seem so excited?"

You giggled at his reaction and shook your head. "Not excited, just surprised. I didn't think he had a thing for me."

"They all do!" he groaned as he ran his hand through his hair. "Heeseung Hyung, Jay Hyung, and Jake Hyung at least."

"So why didn't you tell them we were going on our 2nd date today?"

"I was gonna, it was on the tip of my tongue. But then I thought about you and how maybe you'd wanna keep it private so I said nothing. But then they kept talking and I realized.. maybe I'm not as good for you as I thought I was."

You tilted your head in confusion. "Jungwon what the hell are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about your ideal type. You like taller and older guys; I'm barely taller than you and I'm younger than you. Heeseung Hyung is both of those. You find Australian accents very sexy; Jake Hyung has that and I can barely even speak English. Your values, your upbringings, your mentality is so mature; I think I'm mature but your maturity level matches Jay Hyung the most. You have a thing for hands.. and all three of them have such pretty hands even ENGENE go crazy over them... I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.."

You were shocked at Jungwon's outburst and decided to wrap his arm around your shoulder and wrap yours around his torso as you leaned into him. Jungwon gladly accept the side hug and you two stayed there a while basking in the silence. "Jungwon-ah," you called looking up at him. "An ideal type is honestly so unrealistic. I think it's nearly impossible to find one person that'll 100% match your ideal type. I mean just take mine as an example; you just named three different people in your group that have different qualities off my ideal type list. Not one member matches everything I want."

Jungwon shrugged. "Yeah you're right.. I think that made me feel better."

"Also, why are you putting yourself down like that? You're taller than me, you speak English very well! Who cares if you don't have an Australian accent? Your voice is hot on its own. And as far as your hands go.. well, I think you have very nice hands."

Jungwon raised an eyebrow as he smirked. "Oh yeah? Tell me more about that."

You hummed as you cuddle into Jungwon more. "I think I should wait on that till we have a bit more privacy. What I feel about your hands is not exactly.. rated PG."

Jungwon's smirk was wiped off his face and replaced with a cute dimple smile when you cupped his face in your hands.

"Jungwon-ah.. I want you. Not your members but you. Haven't I made that clear enough?"

He nodded. "You did baby, you did... I'm sorry I just let jealousy control my thoughts like that. When we decide to become official then I promise I'll work on it."

You frowned. "When? Are you really gonna let such a perfect moment like this go to waste?"

Jungwon's eyes widened. "Y-you mean if I ask you now you'll say yes?"

"Well you gotta try right?" you said playfully rolling your eyes.

Jungwon giggled and pecked your lips. "My sweet sweet baby, will you officially become my girlfriend?" Your response was a long kiss in return. Once you pulled away Jungwon kissed your cheek. "You ready to go on that date now my love?"

You nodded, standing up and pulling him with you. "Yup, let's go."

"Ah before that, we gotta stop in the living room so I can brag to my members about you being my girlfriend."

“UGH,” you said throwing your headphones on your desk. You had just lost a match. Your entire team didn’t help you at all. They just used you as a sacrifice. You could still hear them laughing through the headphone even when you weren’t wearing them. All that because your username was based on a K-pop idol. They constantly made fun of it. & to be honest it was hard finding teammates who would back you up in matches because of it.  But you never changed it. You liked it & it made you happy. It was based on your bias from your favorite group, Ni-ki from ENHYPEN. He was around your age & you loved how clean & precise his dance moves were. You loved everything about him. He made you happy. They all did.

Your thoughts were interrupted by a ‘DING!’ sound. You checked your computer & you found a message notification. “You’re an engene??” woah. This was the first time you met someone else who was a fan. Or at least you hoped it was a fan. “Yea” you replied. “Cool, so am I” “Based on your username I’m guessing your bias is Ni-ki?” you smiled, relieved that they actually were a fan & not a hater. “Yea, he’s my ult bias as well” “Woah cool” they replied. “What about you” you asked “it’s Ni-ki as well” they replied. “looks like we already have some stuff in common.” You both chatted for a while & then exchanged ig’s so you can chat. You learned he was a boy around your age. His name he said was Nicholas. He was Japanese & liked dancing & soccer. You were glad to have made an engene friend.

It became common for you guys to play together & he would always defend you from people who made fun of you. He was very nice & you both connected really well.

One day you both were just texting & he asked you,

You were so excited. You’ve been developing some feelings for Nicholas because he was always so nice to you. & he was incredibly funny. & you both had some stuff in common.

Day of the concert

You got dressed & were so excited to meet both Nicholas & Niki. Little did you know a surprise would be waiting for you.

You arrived at the venue a little earlier since first was the fan meet. You were shaking the whole time while waiting in line. You nervously gave each member your album talking to them, holding their hand & cheering them on for the concert & reminding them how much you loved them & appreciated them. You passed by all of them, giving them a smile & made it to Ni-ki. For some weird reason, he wouldn’t look at you in the eye. You thought he didn’t like you because he kept avoiding your gaze & seemed nervous.

You were a little upset at the interaction but made your way to the concert arena. You were dancing, singing waving your light stick with all the other engenes present & you had a blast. & you made a bunch of new friends which you loved. After the concert ended, while people were slowing making their way to the parking lot, you remembered Nicholas was also here. So you quickly texted him.

You looked up from your phone around you. The place was almost empty except for some staff & some people in the washrooms. Then when you looked back straight again you saw Ni-ki walking towards you. You started freaking out. Then he came close to you & told you to follow him. You just quietly went behind him. Then when you both were alone he pulled up his phone showing it to you. It was your text messages with Nicholas. That’s when you realized “Y-you’re…” “Yea” he said nervously, scratching the back of his neck. “I’m sorry I lied to you” “The staff told me that’s the only way I could make friends online” You were speechless & just tried comprehend everything. “Y/N I get it your shocked but the reason I told you was because when we used to play together I used to have so much fun. I realized I really like you” “Ni-ki I had fun too” you said smiling at him “& I realized a few weeks ago I kinda like you too” you said shyly. Ni-ki’s eyes grew wide “REALLY??!” “well then do you wanna go out for ice cream or something with me so we can get to know each other much better?” he asked nervously. “I would love that,” you said smiling.

I feel like I strayed from the topic and got carried away a little bit, but when I stopped to think about it I fell a little bit in love with the idea. From the moment I read ‘rough time mentally’ for some reason, the loss of someone dear come to my mind, and as you weren't specific with her struggle, I decided to use it.

Maybe She's Just Not That Into You

In a totally clichéd way they met at a party in LA.

Artistically inclined Y/n was tight friends with Zack Bia, and although she didn't really like parties, she went under the friend's insistence. She didn't drink and didn't smoke and spent the entire night getting energy drinks directly from Zack.

She was fun and like a particular sun everyone seemed to orbit around her. She wasn't famous but she was recognizable, and everyone at the party seemed to know who she was. Initially he just sat with the group listening to her tell a funny story of a trip to China involving a mistranslation and a resentful Chinese lady. He took the chance when he saw her walk away from the group she was talking to and onto the terrace overlooking the city and ocean. They lost track of time talking that night, the party completely forgotten to them.

Not just beautiful, Y/n was one of the most interesting women he'd ever known, she had content. He wasn't the type to trust people easily, but with her in half an hour he found himself opening up about things that with other people took months. There was something in the way she looked at him, as if she could read his soul like an open book, there was nothing he could keep from her, and there was something in her lazy, gentle smile that said he wouldn't read his deepest secrets in an article on a gossip blog.

It wasn't until after they said goodbye that he realized he hadn't asked for her phone number.

Jack tried IG only to see her profile was private despite her high number of followers.

He asked to follow her at the risk of looking like a creep, the request was accepted within minutes and soon he was followed back. He stalked her a little, Y/n was truly artistic, her profile full of pictures of oil paintings, enviable landscapes, flowers, a few rare selfies and photographs of herself making appearances in between.

Their first date took place that same day, at a small cafe in Malibu that Y/n frequented often enough for the barista to know her order—lemon iced tea with a slice lemon pie—. By the end of the day, he knew he wanted to make that date a frequent occurrence. They saw each other almost every day for the two weeks he was in LA. When he wasn't in the studio, he was with Y/n. The young woman was his perfect dose of Serotonin on the hard days.

Different from all the women he'd been involved with in recent years, he could actually imagine himself taking the lavender-scented girl to meet her family over Thanksgiving. He just knew his mom would love her.

Their first kiss didn't happen until his third trip to Los Angeles, almost two months since they'd known each other. And he only returned to Atlanta with the certainty that the girl he was leaving behind at the airport was his girlfriend.

“She’s not very open, is she?” Urban commented to Jack when the rapper finally brought his girlfriend around his crew. It was her first visit to Atlanta, and everyone seemed enamored with the girl who was the personification of a ray of sunshine.

“What do you mean?” Jack asked not understanding what his friend was trying to say. There was no person more communicative than your Y/n.

Before Urban could clarify however they were interrupted by Druski's booming laugh, who yelled from across the room. “Jack, I like your girl, if one day you guys break up, I'm keeping her around.”

The curly haired boy only smiled exchanging a look with his girlfriend across the room.

Shit. Jack smiles as he watches she return her attention to the conversation she’s having with Druski. He's absolutely fucked. —#—

They'd been together for six months, and Y/n hadn't responded to his messages or answer his calls in two weeks, and it was driving Jack crazy. In other 'relationships' he always knew what he had done to deserve the silent treatment, it was usually mutual, with Y/n he had no idea what he had done. He knew he hadn't missed any dates, hell, they didn't even have any dates yet.

His bad mood was hurting his productivity.

Everyone had already noticed that something was wrong, Urban was the only one who knew why, and it wasn't exactly the best help, the only comment his childhood friend made was: 'Have you ever thought that maybe she's just not that into you?'

And he even went so far as to comment that even though they'd been dating for almost six months Jack knew next to nothing about Y/n.

Y/n was good at talking a lot about herself and not saying anything. He knew about her travels around the world, about her work, about her friends. Jack didn't know anything about her childhood, her family, her dreams or her plans for the future. She wasn't much for talking about her feelings either, though she always smiled when he talked about his.

Shit. Wasn't it ironic that the first time a woman made him truly feel anything other than horny, she probably didn't feel anything for him? He freaked out for two more days before contacting Zack, who also hadn't heard from her in weeks. “Man I wouldn't be nervous, I've known Y/n for years, she always disappears for a few weeks during the fall and then reappears like it's nothing.” That didn't reassured Jack, but at least it reassured him that the problem wasn't exactly him.

And that's how he ended up on Y/n's doorstep at six in the morning, a bouquet of sunflowers in his hand—because he knew they were her favorite flowers—after catching a red-eye, coach, flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles.

He didn't know what to expect, but he didn't expect her to open the door the way she did.

Y/n looked exhausted like someone who hadn't slept in days, she clearly had been crying too. Her always immaculate hair was greasy in a bun on top of her head, she was wearing yoga pants and a sweatshirt he'd forgotten there the last time he'd visited.

She looked at him confused. “Did we schedule anything?”

"We need to talk." He said offering her the bouquet of flowers. “Can I come in?”

She accepted the flowers and made room for him to pass. "Please."

The first thing Jack noticed was the mess.

Y/n's colorful and always exquisitely arranged house looked like it had been the victim of a hurricane, he saw that there were even some broken objects lying around on the floor. The curly haired man placed his travel bag on one of the benches and watched carefully as his girlfriend went to the kitchen and put the flowers in a vase.

“What's going on Y/n? You haven't communicated with anyone for a week.” He said sitting down on a bench, the kitchen island between them. “Zack said this is common this time of year, but we're in a relationship, and things can't be one-sided, and these two weeks where you ghosted me made me feel like I barely knew you, I don’t know about your family, or your childhood, I don’t even know if your born in California.” He kissed his teeth, running his hand through his curls in an exasperated attitude. “I'm starting to believe this is some karmic shit, falling in love with a girl who doesn't like you back.” Jack laughed humorlessly.

Y/n just stared at him for half a minute before sighing running her hand over her scalp.

She went into the living room, rummaged through the mess of things tossed on the coffee table, and then returned to the same spot she was in before.

Y/n handed him a polaroid.

Jack looked at her confused before looking at the photo.

"His name was Tommy…Thomas, he was my little brother." The boy in the photo couldn't have been more than fifteen years old, and he looked absurdly like Y/n, so much so that they could have been twins.

"He was eleven months younger." One more thing he didn't know about her, Y/n had never mentioned that she had a brother. “Last week completed eight years since he committed suicide.” Jack looked at her wide-eyed. “He was my best friend, we didn't have the best parents, but we had each other.” She smiled sadly looking at her brother's picture. “He was screaming for help and no one heard, and I was such a shitty sister that I didn't even answer my phone the day my brother killed himself because I was too busy at a party."

He felt like an idiot.

“You shouldn't be alone at a time like this.” He said taking her hand. “What about your parents?”

Y/n just gave a dry laugh.

“Don't feel.” She shook her head. “It's my fault, I should have opened up more, but all it’s still so new, it's not like I've never been in a relationship, but I've never been close to falling in love, and that's terrifying.” She confessed.

Anyway long backstory of my bias trip

But if you don’t wanna read all that because it is pretty lengthy the short answer is: yes, it’s been brewing for a while and then suddenly I woke up like “oh no I’m in fucking trouble.”

Anyway, I’ve changed my bias a couple of times and most of them were before I started my account.

So originally when I first got into Stray Kids (this was early February bc my brothers funeral was late January and I was in The Void™️) I was a Hyunjin bias. Like technically Felix got me interested in the group, but like what finally pushed me over was that dramatic llama’s dramatic ass because like I love dramatic, sassy people (my favorite member of One Direction the sass master from Doncaster himself, Louis so on brand) (unrelated my biases when I actively listened to GOT7 back when they first debuted were Bam Bam and Jackson and I honestly can’t remember why. It was something that I saw in the show when it was on netflix)

So Hyunjin was my bias for a little bit, and then I discovered Y2K Han and I was wrecked for like nearly a month. Like I knew he wasn’t my bias, but I was really willing to risk it all for him.

And then on March 9 (yes I remember the date) I just had to take the plunge, unfortunately, and buy my first album and it was Maxident. I can’t remember which version it was and I ended up pulling so many Hyunjin cards and then the Felix love letter and the Felix mini poster, but the 2 pcs I pulled being Hyunjin and 1 Han pc was almost poetic. And then i went to get the other vers of the album and kept pulling Hyun so I was like “okay, main bias is fighting for his spot ig”. Briefly forgot about Y2K Han (so sorry)

And then end of March because I love getting into lore of things I’m deep in the fandom of I decided I am going to watch the survival show and then I saw predebut Felix and that was it. That and then kingdom Felix *chefs kiss*. Personality wise, I am so much like Felix and I also tend to go towards people whose personalities are similar to mine so like naturally, Hyunjin, got dethroned Felix end up becoming my ult bias. And then, from March to about right before five star was announced my bias line in this order was Felix, Hyunjin, Han.

Occasionally I was wrecked by Chan, and I was getting worried with that for a little bit. I also got wrecked by I.N once, and I honestly can’t remember why same thing with Lee Know and Changbin but never really Seungmin and because when I was like actively writing and getting into the fandom, like my eyes were pretty much on Felix and the rest of my bias line, I wasn’t like looking to stray (hehe), but then I saw Seungmin smile and I’m pretty sure there was an edit that same day saying how Seungmin hides his smile.

That officially moved him to the bias line from the wrecker line and slowly overtime he’s been making his way up here. I have been buying so many salmon coated things and he was at the bottom of my baseline so I think I have been just kidding myself this whole time because I was also actively buying Seungminphoto cards and I put a Seungmin lomo on my bag and have been carrying it around for weeks And one of my mutuals on here sent me two custom smiling Seungmin photo cards that she made me when we traded. 

He very quickly dethrone Han and then and Hyunjin and then for the past couple of weeks I’ve been trying to stay loyal to Felix, but I’m pretty sure on my account I’ve been talking about Minnie way more than I have ever talk about Felix, despite you know me, being Feelbokkie so it really is like “OK yeah I need to to switch my bias at this point”

What finally did it for me was his birthday live because I was in such a depressive hole the past couple weeks. Like Amy knows how bad it was and in that time like I also wasn’t watching any Stray Kids media. I was not consuming anything other than music and writing, I couldn’t/wouldn’t watch anything skz related, and I was finally starting to feel a little bit better when Amy and I were going to watch the second episode skz family and his birthday live came on literally right before and like it made me so happy it kind of gave me like that slightly final push I needed to kind of get out of that depressive hole and I like “oh no like if he can I pull me out of how bad it was and he’s technically not even my bias I think he needs to be my bias”

But my bias line is still the 00’s line and the other 4 are in my wreaker line.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how sensitive tae / jk / tkkrs are. Like the thing you said about JK solos thinking the company and army are against him. Like if jimin had the fan base numbers and company support they had I would be thrilled and simply keep my mouth shut.

It’s especially interesting that they drag jimin so much when he poses no real threat (numbers wise) to them. Tae literally has 10 MILLION more followers than jimin on IG. And JK probably would too if he was still on IG.

What i keep coming back to is that can’t fathom jimin having the large amount of success than he has (even if it’s less than tae/jk) when he doesn’t have the traditional qualities that tae and jk have that make them the most biased. Like tae’s perfect face or JK’s boyish charm / masculinity / both of them being conventionally attractive overall, along with JK’s natural talent and Tae’s “confidence”. Jimin has all this success without those things. And I feel like that’s what bugs them and threatens them. Idk just thinking/rambling!

Here's the thing about Instagram followers... I've written about this before but I can't seem to find that post, so I guess I'll have to do another post (this one) about it.

Instagram followers are not a measure of talent or success. They never were, and never will be. I can only think of like Messi and Ronaldo who have 600 million followers as people who their instagram followers are *sort of* a reflection of how well known they are.

Armys live in a bubble; taekookers, Taehyung and JK stans live in an even smaller bubble, tho this could be true for every solo out there. They think BTS (or their particular bias) is the center of the universe, and they forget that there actually are other celebrities and musicians in the planet. They forget too that not everything that looks like success, is actually success.

Harry Styles doesn't get half the likes any BTS member gets. Harry has had several billboard 100 singles, many of them were #1 and As It Was is still charting. Yet he has even less followers than Jimin, I think. Harry has been touring non-stop for more than a year, now. You'd think he wouldn't have fans to attend his shows when you look at his posts with 1 - 2 million likes. He sold 500k albums the first week on the US. BTS sell ~200K. Beyonce gets less likes than any BTS member, too. Yet she's on a sold out stadium tour around the world right now. Coldplay has less than 20 million followers yet they've been active as a group since 1996, and they also are on a stadium tour right now. The same stadiums that BTS played in two or three times, Coldplay has had up to 8 sold out dates in those stadiums.

Now, for the final bosses. Taylor Swift gets around 7 millions likes on her posts. She's also on a stadium tour right now. Her albums that were released 15 years ago and she's re-releasing now, are still getting one million preorders in the first day, only in the USA. She gets 80 million streams on her spotify profile, DAILY. Everyday.

BTS right now has 73 million followers on their bts_bighit account, and it was a smaller number before but in 2021 they were already getting 100 million views for butter in the first 24 hours.

For Christmas 2020, Jimin released Christmas Love, unannounced. Literally they just posted a link, and the youtube audio got I think 10 million in the first day. Later that day, Taehyung went on weverse to announce he'd be releasing snow flower that night. It debuted with less views than Christmas Love, even if it had been announced. The members opened their instagram accounts on December 6th 2021 (I'm just going by memory here, so I might be slightly wrong on the date). Taehyung immediately was "on the lead" regarding followers, immediately gathered a few million more than any other member. Taehyung then released Christmas Tree in the end of December 2021. Debut streams: roughly 1.5 million. If even half of his followers had tuned in (on Spotify) for his song, you'd think he would've done better than 1.5 million streams. With you was released four months later and, despite having only half the tracking time and despite "unpopular" Jimin having less instagram followers than Taehyung, with you got a better first day streams. To this day, it still gains streams faster than Christmas Tree.

As a sidenote, I don't think it's a small detail that instagram followers and likes are way easier to fake and fraud than streams. In the end, Jimin is a musician and the only way he can "prove" anything about himself, or his popularity or success, it's through his music and his performances. I think it's clear he himself doesn't even care that much about his instagram profile.

The same goes for Jungkook's lives viewers, which was something I was thinking about the other day. He released music last year, and last year he was already getting 15, 20 million viewers (which his fans claim are unique viewers), but his songs debuted with not even half of that. And we know how streams work; one person could stream the same song 10, 20 times. So how come he doesn't get 40 million streams a day? Or at least one day in the year? If we were to assume that 20 million different people watch his lives, those 20 million could also play his song once or twice at least one day in the year. But that doesn't happen.

So that's why I could never be bothered about instagram followers and likes... it really never mattered to me. Records in general don't matter to me, and I've said it plenty of times. There are some Jimin "records" and numbers that I wasn't even aware of until FACE was released. I didn't know that with you was more streamed than stay alive or christmas tree, for example. There's some stuff I'm finding out only because other people post about it, not because I'm constantly checking up on Jimin's and other member's numbers.

I can only go with Taehyung's old releases numbers because he hasn't released anything in a while. Also, a random OST is not the same as a proper debut, so I am aware that nobody really knows how well he could do with his debut. But the truth is that -IN THE PAST- his streams and singles sales have always been lower than Jimin's; the only member who's on par with Jimin on that, is Jungkook. Maybe for his debut Taehyung will finally release a fun song that people actually want to listen to.

On the other hand, now that Jimin has "set records" with his debut album, when Taehyung and Jungkook's albums come out, they will try to out-do Jimin's numbers, and when the next Jimin album comes out, people will try to out-do taekook's numbers and so on and on. So unless it's a really extraordinary thing that could hardly be replicated (like Jimin's BB #1), other than that, records of numbers are a really fickle thing to hold on to. The only reason I talked about them in this post was to make a point that instagram followers really do not always correlate to how "successful" or loved, or supported someone is.

As for your last paragraph, firstly I'm really uncomfortable and tired of the backhanded "compliments" like Jimin is doing great, but not as great as Taehyung or Jungkook. Like what is the actual purpose? I know they will do well, but the undermining of Jimin's achievements is insane and so unnecessary. The day Jungkook's and Taehyung's albums were announced too, it was "the most successful kpop soloists in the world" when Jimin is literally right there, being exactly that right now. Why have most people in this fandom incorporated the backhanded compliments in their vocabulary? Being lowkey or even highkey shady towards Jimin is almost like an unconscious thing for most these days.

Talking specifically about the hate he gets from Taehyung's Jungkook's stans, what you mentioned is half of the reason why. The other half is, ships. The other half of the hate is because of taekook.

They have convinced themselves that Instagram followers and such, are a measure of success. They have convinced themselves that Jimin is not talented, that he can't sing, that he can't dance, that all these years he was pushed by the company as something he's not and that his whole personality is a lie. They fight so hard against the love he receives because they genuinely think he doesn't deserve it for all of those reasons they've invented themselves. Then some YouTuber shows up and reacts to a BTS live song and goes "oh this Jimin guy sounds the best" and they think he's been paid to say that. The idea they have of him has never correlated with the image the real world has of him, and that's what bothers them. If someone says I love this song, they just HAVE to be on his business and spam "this song is awful" because they think it's wrong to like him and want others to feel that way about him too.

That's never going to happen because the real world isn't chronically online, feeding themselves lies the way Taehyung and JK stans are.

It's also interesting, but not really, that according to them Jimin is a "flop" but Jimin is the only one they're always trying to surpass. So how exactly is he flopping if he's their biggest competition. All BTS members are competing with themselves as of right now, none of them stand a chance next to already stablished artists with proven global, stable success like Harry or Taylor. Didn't bad bunny get 1 billion streams on his album the FIRST day? That happened last year. And JK stans were so proud of Jungkook getting it in 409 days. I'd like to see Jungkook or Taehyung stans try and argue how successful they are compared to people like those I mentioned. All BTS members are competing with themselves, but none of them are actually stablished as solo acts, especially in the states. All of them are still confined to kpop so far. Jimin has probably started to crack the surface because Like Crazy was quite successful in the USA and even the UK, and there were a lot of things that gave it publicity, but even then that's just a crack and it takes time to settle as an undisputed successful solo artist. No BTS member has the time to do that.

hoya is always number one in my heart, despite him leaving the group in 2017 🥲 dongwoo and sungyeol are my tied for my faves after him

hoya caught my attention from the beginning lol because back in 2011(!) i saw a gif or pic of him here on tumblr and thought that he was yunho from dbsk but then could not find it again, and for awhile i could not figure out who it was so this mystery was stuck in my mind until i finally figured out it was him. aside from his looks, i really liked his personality too lol hard work, ambition, earnesty and a biting wit are qualities that i admire in people even rn and hoya had that in spades. his perseverance in his journey to becoming an idol was very inspiring and moving to me (tw: child abuse, the tl;dr of it was that he wanted to pursue dancing and becoming an idol when in high school and ended up dropping out and leaving home after he had a physical altercation w his dad when they had an argument about his career goals. so he was basically homeless for awhile before he got accepted as a trainee. he also was told initially he wouldn't be able to debut due to having a stutter and then he basically trained himself out of it in a very short period of time without any professional help). he was also the ace of the group, even though dancing was (and still is) his passion, he also was a decent singer and rapper and actor (at least in reply 1997 lol, idk about his other roles. also his role in reply 1997 is literally revolutionary lol i won't say why bc spoilers but i recommend watching it if you like kdramas! he plays kang junhee)

in 2010, when they debuted. 2010 was a time where you could easily know and keep track of everyone who was debuting when it was announced (which is wild to think about how different it is now and how the industry has become so saturated), but they also caught attention because they were being mentored by epik high who were and still are a pretty well known k-hiphop trio. i didn't become interested in them until 2011 though, because i didn't like the song they debuted with

yes, i've been twice. i had to look up the dates because it's been so long lol but the first time was in 2013 and the second time was 2016. honestly one of the best memories of my life

Let’s talk: Busan and what came after

Hi guys!

After waiting in a limbo for four years we finally got the answer, being that the members will go to the military after all, as announced by HYBE a few days ago. I have a feeling that everything is slowly coming together like a puzzle into one whole picture. Of course we could speculate in which order they’ll go, who will go to which type of service and for how long, but I don’t think there really is any true point in that, instead it’s better to just wait and see. We’ll find out soon enough. One thing is clear that Jin will begin this new phase since we will have to say goodbye to him before the end of the year, by the end of this month even. Because of that we’ll be getting Jin’s solo song, The Astronaut, very soon.

With Admin 1 we had a few speculations about the song, the most logical (based on both going to LA at the same time, more or less) that Namjoon would be involved in the song, but we certainly didn’t see Coldplay coming at all. It’s yet another surprise no one had any idea about which only goes to show, once again, that speculating is fun but ultimately pointless. We’ve read at least snippets of the lyrics that were revealed with the album last night and it’s so romantic, and of course officially it’s said to be for ARMY but unofficially? We’ll never find out. So here, too, we won’t speculate about the song but instead wait until the song comes out next week and we get to listen to it and find out more about it from Jin. But looking at stores in our area it’s a bit shocking to see that Jin’s single album will cost about as much as WINGS does. Nonetheless we’re very curious about the song, its MV, and the pictures within the album.

And now a few words about what we got to see last week below the cut:

Starting with Jimin’s birthday. We might not have made a post about it, like we didn’t for JK and Namjoon either, but of course we wished him a happy birthday on social media and thought about him lots. We both thought Tae wouldn’t post anything again, just like he did last year, so we were only so much more surprised that he posted something and that he was the last one. Finally we got another vmin selca which made both of us yell in joy and surprise, even more so when looking at Tae’s emoji choice. And then to make it even more WOW Jimin reposted the wishes to his IG story, the first time he’s ever posted one (and he didn’t repost anyone else wishes, just Tae’s), and Tae went on to like Jimin’s birthday post on IG. The next day Tae also posted a picture of a Jimin bus with Jimin’s head in the frame as he was looking out of the window at the bus. So many cute interactions.

The Busan concert. Unfortunately neither of us was in Busan so we watched the livestream instead which meant that we, too, had to suffer through weverse and naver giving up and thus missed out on at least 3 songs which was very upsetting. So we’re thankful to vminies who were at the concert who caught all the cute vmin interactions and shared them with us, especially since there was quite something to catch.

As for the whole group itself, they presented themselves quite maturely and powerful on stage. You can feel that they are grown men and not a group of boys anymore. Sure there is still that freshness and enthusiasm for performing and giving their best, that they are still loving it and having fun, but their behavior and visuals have evolved and matured alongside them. 

Since Tae is my bias I’ll start with him and I’ll admit that I’m very proud of Tae, who in my opinion has evolved quite a lot vocally since we last heard him at the Las Vegas concerts. He’s truly using his voice like an instrument and in a way that he knows exactly how to move us emotionally and how to touch us. His voice is completely different from the other members. I’ve seen a few snippets from the rehearsals where Tae showed us his opera like singing and it was brilliant, if he wanted to, he could take up a role like that, too. 

All the members were brilliant, really. It was sad though that Jin had issues with his throat leading up to the concert and you could see it in a few spots that his throat was giving him a bit of a trouble still. I certainly didn’t expect him to announce that he would have a song next, since word was that it would be Namjoon or Yoongi, but it was a very pleasant surprise that had us very excited.

Speaking of Namjoon, I’m not sure where to start. Be it his mature look or his incredible stage presence that’s truly unmatched. Namjoon, more and more with each concert, grows when it comes to his presence and the way he carries himself, so much so that it seem like he’s more confident about himself and his looks, his talents. His aura is very striking. Along with Yoongi he doesn’t need to do much on stage and yet he still commands your attention effortlessly. The whole package he presents is truly something else and in a way it only makes me so much more excited for whatever he has waiting for us when it comes to his solo work in the future. I’ll admit that after Tae, Namjoon is next in line visually for me. He’s gorgeous, but a tiny bit less than Tae since Tae is above everyone.

As for Yoongi and Hobi, when those two stand on stage alongside Namjoon, it’s an absolute feast, it’s like a heavy train that gets more and more momentum and takes you along for an unforgettable ride. I love those three together on stage. I don’t know how Yoongi manages to rap so fast without getting out of breath or looking like it takes any effort at all, and how someone as small as him can fit just that much energy and power into himself. And also how much someone so calm and kind and warm can still also have this force that’s very much to be reckoned with inside of him. Hobi, after releasing Jack in the Box and performing at Lolapalooza, has gained even more confidence and transformed his presence. The choices that were made when it came to his outfits and his hair, truly whoever decided that style for him deserves a raise because he was absolutely impeccable. 

JK like JK was solid as he always is and didn’t disappoint in any kind of way. Unlike many, or most, I didn’t quite like what was done to his hair for the concert, but each their own. He, too, stood very maturely and confidently on stage and was eye-catching in his presence and vocals. 

Jimin. You could still see that happiness from his birthday and from being in his hometown radiate off of him and carry him across the stage with so much energy and that signature dancer prowess. He was in his element beginning to end and didn’t falter even once, and he got so happy and surprised when ARMY started to sing Happy Birthday for him, albeit very out of sync but that just adds to the charm. And as much as I like black haired or blond Jimin, I don’t quite understand his current hair color choice and when I saw him with his hair hidden I quietly hoped he might’ve changed it, which he obviously didn’t. But the hairstyle itself suits him so well and I really like this longer hair on him a lot.

Vmin at the Busan concert. I don’t even know where to start but fkdmwexf While all the members were doing their proper ending pose for RUN BTS, it seemed like vmin were overcome with joy and the need to share that with each other since, instead of doing the pose as well, they decided to hug and then seemingly fall to the floor together once the lights were off. No idea what else they were doing, if anything, but the fact itself just left us speechless and gave us butterflies. But I’ll admit that as much as that made me, as well as Admin 1, scream and squeak in excitement, just like many other smaller interactions that vmin shared, my absolute favorite moment was during the dance break in Butter. When they danced with Hobi, Tae and Jimin shared these big, happy, radiant smiles with each other. And another one that also made my heart flutter was when Jimin smiled at Tae and Tae got so cutely flustered and shy. And vmin were just so vmin during this concert. They were just so happy to be on stage and to share this with the members and each other. You could just see that they were simply doing this for each other, and that’s just so cute and this wonderfully gentle thing between them, so wrapped in fondness and the uniqueness of their bond.

Let’s not even talk about their interaction during Zero O’Clock during rehearsals where they first held hands (where it also looked for a moment like Jimin wanted to kiss Tae’s hand), then Tae caressed Jimin’s cheek and then pat his head before walking away before turning back and smiling back at Jimin, because I have no words still. It was just something they did for each other and not for the audience since there was none, except for their staff, since it was a rehearsal after all. From what we could see of the rehearsals there were quite a few interactions between them, ranging from just shared glances to actual small touches and silliness. It just highlights once again how close they are.

And then once you use hindsight and look at those moments with the knowledge we have now, as in that this was their last concert as seven until 2025 because of enlistment, then that only makes them that much more special. Their emotions must’ve been crazy and to know that they felt the need to share those moments with each other and make them their own, especially in Jimin’s hometown just after Jimin’s birthday, it truly shows you that there is no other bond quite like theirs. 

Perhaps we should also soon talk about Jimin’s photobook since I have a lot of thoughts and theories on it, but that’ll come next time.

Lastly shout out to Admin 1 for editing this post a little which didn’t have any influence on the actual content just the language. Since they have more of a way with words than I do.

hi huh. this could be my last lastart ask 🥹 im sorry to be whiny here but i'm heartbroken minjae didn't debut in nct tokyo. i dreaded it cos he's not one of the clearly strong candidates from how the judges ranked him and his stage performance but it still hurt. this is my first time watching a survival show too. its not a traditional survival and it all was decided before but this is still how it feels to root for someone's debut..

i know so little about minjae comparing to urichil especially jaedo but i love his voice. his personality doesnt stand out but humble and gentle is one of my types 🥺 i like him enough from the show to want to know more about him as a person, even with the little screentime he got. i planned on stanning nct tokyo if he debuted there cos i already love nct lore, concepts and ofc the music but since he's not in the unit.. i might not be able to stan. i'm too emotional. i do like riku and yushi but it's just not enough for me to stay invested. i'll just support their music as a listener.

minjae is a 02 line trainee and he's training for 2 years already. riize just debuted. nct tokyo will debut soon. sm claimed theyll debut artists more but i just can't see it in at least 2 or 3 more years. even so trainees will go and new trainees will come. combinations and concepts will keep changing as we have seen and not the best vocalists (or dancers, rappers, visuals) get chosen. we never know for real why hansol and yongju left, could be how sm had no clear plans for them too but i also feel like yongju wasn't a dancer and hansol not really a singer or rapper at the time. like minjae now. sm wants performers or if not, someone with extreme skills on one end must have no other worthy rivals at the time. adding korea military service and the industry trends to debut younger trainees, minjae has limited time in sm. 02 is considered kinda old now no matter how ridiculous it sounds.

at the end of lastart minjae looked like he still had hope and would still try to be an idol but i wonder like you if he'll still be in sm. he's still there atm but the younger trainees have more time. i'll root for minjae in whatever path he chooses but i think he fits sm best with the talent and music style, even if his stage presence is still lacking. i also dont really dig other companies' bg sounds tbh 😢 idk i just can only see him fit in sm group or just go solo as a ballad or pop singer.

enough about minjae rant. i know anderson stood out without blending in but i'm still SHOOK he's not become a neo. he seems neo for me, just not fit with most lineup members. i agree nct tokyo looks like they are going the youthful route first. i got this feeling from the members' visuals and heights too. sion is the only tall one now and maybe daeyoung. minjae and anderson might change the group vibes. (haruta and heitetsu are tall too but they had lower chance to debut.) ryo is unexpected for me tbh even with his 90's love but i know jp fans are gonna love him like sakuya and sm probably thought he was a young one with potential. he's also the most popular jp trainee after yushi, riku and sakuya.

minjae and anderson are popular among kr, jp and international fans too but sm chose daeyoung over minjae and sakuya over anderson ig.

anderson said he would take a break. he had only been training for 6 months in sm but i feel he felt he was close to debut with his previous performance ranking. i'm honestly most shocked about him not chosen even tho i know he has different vibes from others.

I was saying that it not always only about skill, a trainee needs to fit the concept and the rest of the trainees.

This idol show was just at least. It's worse when those who debuted are obviously less skilled than the ones you rooted for due to fans' bias. All chosen future neos make sense one way or another.

SM wanted a main vocal. Daeyoung also offered rap and better stage precence than Minjae (despite a few months of training, i.e. he progresses faster). And visually he blends better with the rest. His face is kind of roundish, on a bland side, but make up will improve it. Minjae's face is elegant and cold. He is very contrasting to others. Still, I think his downfall was his lack of progress in stage presence.

I don't know Minjae, obviously, but I wonder if becoming a soloist is better for him. He likes singing and he wants to touch people's hearts. Idolship hardly offers this. We know Doyoung struggles. He had a period of "I will do my best, sing what I have to sing", when he wasn't into NCT songs and his parts. 4 seasons didn't work. Taeil is still waiting for his solo despite his golden voice, for which he was chosen over Doyoung for 127 (although Do studying Chinese played a role in it too, heh). Minjae doesn't have Doyoung's assertiveness and will. Being an idol might become a burden, too much for him to handle. Trainees don't really know what is ahead of them. There was that case of Winner's main vocal leaving soon after debut. He won the competition, got the ultimate prize, and found out it wasn't what he desired in the end. If Minjae hones his voice, he can become an OST singer, sing before live public.

Anderson would have been chosen if not for SaRyo, who are Japanese. He isn't an obvious rapper like Riku, and Sakuya is also entertaining. Hansol was a better dancer than Johnny, but he was timid (had less fans, I suppose), and he had no other advantages like English for extra points. Anderson is still, like, 18? He is very self-managing and optimistic, he will make it. Maybe he will be the reason to pay attention to the next SM group, heh. He is kind of repeating Shotaro's path. If he won't change his mind about being an idol in Korea, we will see him again. He either cameback home to graduate school or spend time with his parents.

Despite Kassho not being ready, I really wanted him as a neo, he fits the concept so well. So I get you.

As one of the judges said, the contestants who didn't win got exposure and gained fans. It's already an advantage. There are popular groups consisting of Produce 101 trainees who were eliminated in the beginning or in the middle (Oneus, Everglow). Not winning a show is not the end. It all depends on the will to succeed, who has it in them. And I think SM will keep the promise of debuting a new group every 2-3 years. They can do it by diversifying genres.

it was in early 2018, yearbook class and my friend would always watch music videos while she worked so one time I asked wtf was she watching and first of all she said BIG BANG. so I was ugh kpop [keep in mind I was like 17 only listening to rap music and lana del rey lol]

but everything I watched was actually from 2017

and my cousin always talked about nct so I would get annoyed but one day she was watching BTS miCdrop and I started watching with her and I saw Jungkook in his camo pants and black long sleeve and I was like WHOMSTTTTTTTTTTT

so then she told me it was bts so I looked them up bc I’d seen them on ig but obv I didn’t care at the time but when I looked at a picture I literally FELL IN LOVE

like I couldn’t recognize any of them but Jungkook and Namjoon 😭 and then i went crazy watching their Ellen interviews, bts run, and billboard performance

I ended up asking my cousin about kpop and she was like “bitch I’ve been telling you kpop smacks.” And I asked her to show me more groups so then I finally listened to nct

but anyways

moral of the story is
