no sleep
Tumblr media
pairing: singer!reader x tom holland || w/c: 1.6k
warnings: swearing and many many many suggestive jokes
summary: you’re on jimmy kimmel to talk about your music, but he has other plans
a/n: y’all i’ve literally always wanted to write singer!reader and this idea just came to me and i had to get it out because it’s so cute :,) i really hope ya like it
-
jimmy kimmel invited you onto his show to promote a single from your upcoming album. you stepped out of the spotlight for a while, so this is your first official appearance of the year.
“my first guest tonight...” there’s a cheer from the audience. you grin to yourself, waiting for jimmy to finish announcing you.
“you wanna say it for me?” he chuckles and stands your picture up on his desk. “my first guest tonight surprised fans this morning with her new single ‘no sleep.’ it’s currently number one in over seventy countries.” jimmy holds for applause, which you get a ton of. you cover your hot face with your hands.
“she’s here to talk to us about the song and her short hiatus. please welcome y/n y/l/n!”
the music plays while you walk onstage, followed by more cheers and clapping. you’re beaming as you wave to everyone. you give jimmy a quick hug and exchange hello’s over the noise.
you’ve been in the industry for a few years, but you’ll never get used to responses like this. all the love really warms your heart.
“thank you!” you giggle out, taking your seat on the couch. the audience yells some more when the music dies out. “thank you so much! oh my god,” you make a face at jimmy, who laughs and gestures to everyone. “they clearly hated the song,” he jokes to you. “i was gonna say,” you agree, smoothing your dress down.
you look out at the crowd with a pout. “no, seriously. you guys are so cute.” jimmy copies your pout, earning a playful eye roll from you.
you’ve been on the show a couple of times before, so you two are friendly. tom has also brought you to chill backstage with him when he was a guest. you would’ve brought him this time if he wasn’t away for filming.
“so, you took most of the year off from making music,” jimmy starts the actual conversation. “mhm, i did,” you hum and cross one of your legs over the other. “how was that? was it weird not being in the studio?” you scrunch your face up, then he adds another question. “what did you actually do with yourself?”
“i mean, music is obviously a big part of who i am. making it, loving it, all that stuff.” a small smile crosses your face. “so, yeah. it sort of felt like something was missing at first.” jimmy nods along, you shrugging one of your shoulders.
“at the same time, i really needed to take a minute and just breathe. come back with my shit more together. i think i have,” you let out a reflective sigh. “it didn’t have anything to do with your boyfriend? a mr. tom holland?” jimmy teases, you waving a hand at him. “no, don’t give him all the credit.”
your break genuinely was for yourself. no one needs to know that tom was also off, or that he spent all his free time with you. that was just a plus.
“are you sure? because, it seemed like you two were getting really cozy.” a picture from your instagram pops up on the screen. it’s of tom under a blanket. he’s reaching out for you with a lazy smile. you lean over on the couch so you’re off camera, another giggle escaping you.
jimmy flips to another picture. “that was exhibit A. here’s exhibit B.” the whole audience coos, jimmy raising his eyebrows at you. this one is a mirror selfie from tom’s instagram. your arms are slung around his neck from behind, and half your face is hidden. tom is doing his signature eye crinkling smile into the camera.
“aren’t they just adorable?” jimmy asks the audience, making them erupt in more cheers. you sit up again and clear your throat. seeing those is bittersweet for you. “he’s very cuddly. anyway, back to the music!” you do a small clap. little do you know, there’s much more to come.
“yes, yes. back to the music. talk to me about ‘no sleep.’” the song is one hundred percent about tom. you’re not sure you should say that, considering the... explicit content in it. you and tom did get very cozy over your break, as jimmy would say. it was the only time you weren’t relaxing.
“well,” you plaster on an overly happy smile. that earns more laughter from jimmy. “it’s about what you do in bed when you’re, um, not sleeping,” you explain. “and who do you do those things in bed with?” jimmy glances up at the screen again. “you’re choosing violence today, jimmy,” you say under your breath.
there’s a chuckle from backstage that sounds eerily similar to tom’s. it must have been a PA. all this talk about him is seriously fucking with your head.
“well, everyone in my life inspires my work in some way. they’re such angels,” you dodge the question, thinking you’re clever about it. jimmy won’t let you get off that easy. “friends? family?” he asks you. “yeah, everyone,” you exhale in relief. jimmy widens his eyes at you. “so, that means ‘no sleep’ is about your mom?”
your mouth falls open. he’s really going to make you spill the details of your sex life.
“what the fuck, no!” you squeal, looking out into the audience for help. they join in your laughter. “it’s about tom,” you finally confirm so jimmy doesn’t suggest anything else. “it’s about tom, my god. next topic.” you’re smiling despite yourself.
“why? don’t you wanna tell us more about your lover?” jimmy glances off to the side. what is going on back there? you sit up straighter in your spot. “no, this is my interview!” you’re half joking, half serious.
although you and tom aren’t private at all, you’ve never talked about him this much. it’s overwhelming. besides that, this is making you miss him a lot.
“that’s too bad. we thought... we thought you might like to share it,” jimmy is already grinning about whatever he has planned. this isn’t supposed to be part of your segment. “huh? i’m literally so lost.” you furrow your eyebrows at him, lowering your voice. “we didn’t talk about this.”
he pats the arm of your couch. “they say there’s no time like the present. ladies and gentlemen, tom holland!”
on cue, tom runs out from backstage. the audience practically roars with how loud they are. people even jump out of their seats. you clasp a hand over your mouth in pure shock. this feels like a prank, like jimmy is about to say sike. then, tom comes up to the couch. you almost fall over, jimmy proudly watching on.
tom grins so wide it takes up his whole face. “happy release day,” he murmurs as you get to your feet. you’re not able to speak just yet, only staring up at him with glossy eyes. he brings you into a tight hug. his hands rub up and down your back, your arms snaking around his middle.
“tommy,” you try to whisper the nickname. you forgot your microphone is on. everyone “aw’s” at you both, including jimmy. “my love,” tom’s lips brush your cheek briefly. “hi, baby,” he speaks into your ear. you hide your face in his button up while he rocks you side to side.
he’s been away for a couple of months working on the third spider-man. this is the first time you’ve seen him since he left.
“shouldn’t you be in atlanta?” you ask louder this time for the audience to hear. you’re still doing an interview. “today’s a big day. i had to see you,” tom gives you one last squeeze. “in person,” he adds, before you can say you already facetimed.
the fact that him and jimmy put this whole thing together is making you emotional. you’d be fully crying if you two were alone right now.
“she doesn’t want you here, though. remember?” jimmy chimes in, tom breathing out a laugh. he sadly lets go of you. you flop back onto the couch, tom pointing behind him with his thumb. “i’ll just be on my way. five hour flight, no big deal.” “no, no, no, no. stay,” you whine and make grabby hands at him.
that’s all it takes for tom to slip into the spot next to you. he bites back a smile, putting an arm around you and the couch. you don’t want to annoy everyone with too much pda, so you subtly curl into his side. the people actually love you and tom together. jimmy claps his hands.
“we’ll be right back with y/n y/l/n and tom holland!” he says into the camera, the band playing more filler music. he steps out from behind the desk to greet tom. tom stands up, the two of them giving each other pats on the back. the camera stops rolling.
“hey, man. thanks for doing this,” tom puts a hand on jimmy’s arm. “anything for the happy couple. i’m gonna get some water, see you in five.” jimmy shoots you another smile on his way to his dressing room. you return it. that leaves you and tom to yourselves.
“baby,” you say in a sing song voice, dropping your head onto tom’s shoulder. “i’m so happy you’re here. i real life almost peed when you came out.” tom snakes his arm around your waist. “that would be upsetting,” he mumbles, his index finger drawing circles on you. “it would’ve ruined your very pretty dress.”
“you like it?” you knowingly tug at the form fitting material. tom shifts in his spot. “i’ll tell you what,” he leans in closer to you with a smirk, his breath tickling your ear. “we’re getting no sleep tonight,” he sings from the chorus of your song. you burst into a giggle and squeeze your eyes shut.
he ends up being right.

Warnings: Insecure Spencer, Getting stood up for on a date, Morgan and Garcia (just the team in general) not really understanding Spencer fully, one tiny sexual innuendo- I think that’s it nothing too bad this time around
Main Masterlist Word Count: 2.4K
This was not what I wanted to be doing today. Garcia had once again inquired about my love life- along with Morgan of course, wanting to find out about all the juicy details. I didn’t know why they continued to ask when it was obvious that my love life was about as exciting as watching paint dry.
I gave my normal response to these types of inquiries, brushing them off without sounding too hurtful. Unfortunately Garcia would not be satiated by my response, apparently she was now fed up with my dull love life and felt like she needed to be personally involved. Garcia was very near and dear to me, just like Morgan, but I couldn’t deny that this grated my nerves.
“We’ll make you a dating profile too! Maybe you’ll find someone cute to date- or maybe get some?!” Garcia was chipper as usual, with her eyebrows wiggling at her suggestion that I should have a one night stand. All that I felt from her words was dread.
The dangers of online dating swirled in my mind and I tried to protest, it came out more like a stammer though. Morgan then patted me on the back and piped up, giving his own opinion, “Yeah- I think it’ll be good for you, pretty boy.”
Again I wanted to protest, beginning to stammer out another reason why I didn’t think it was a good idea. I sighed heavily when I was cut off again, by Morgan and Garcia already planning on what pictures they were going to upload of me. At least I knew that they had my best interests at heart, they wanted me to be happy with someone- or get some like Garcia had mentioned earlier. Still, it didn’t change the fact that there was no way I’d ever want to go willingly on a date with someone I had met on the internet.
—-
My thoughts had not changed since Morgan and Garcia had set up the dating profile for me. There hadn’t been any person I had been on a date with that had successfully been able to keep me interested beyond a few conversations.
“No luck with the online dating?” Morgan had teased when I had walked in with my head held low. This endeavor was just making me realize how picky and undesirable I was. Why couldn’t I just find someone pretty and be happy with it?
Morgan’s face twisted from a smile into a frown when I didn’t answer him, making my way silently to my desk.
For the rest of the day the team tiptoed around me, sensing my sadness. There was part of me that was angry at them for thinking that I couldn’t handle a few bad dates. But, they were right. I couldn’t handle the sting of rejection or the disappointment of a date that didn’t live up to my expectations.
Emily always seemed to know how to cheer me up, so I did attempt some small conversation in the break room while we were both getting our coffee. She never gave me any pity like the others who just flashed me sad looks, unwilling to make any effort to help- or like Garcia and Morgan, they helped in the wrong way even if their intentions were pure.
Her solution to my problem did make my ears perk up a bit, “Hey- I saw that you’ve been down and that it’s been about the online dating Morgan and Garcia made you get into.” I nodded my head in confirmation then gesturing for her to continue while I poured copious amounts of sugar into my drink. Emily opted for mostly cream instead of sugar, stirring her coffee a little, then continuing her thought,”I wondered how you would feel about being set up on a blind date. It’s someone I know so maybe that would make you feel better about going on it? Instead of having to deal with technology that I know you despise.”
Emily had a way of seeing exactly how I was feeling and not just spitting out facts without solutions like the others. Her solution made me nervous of course, there would probably never be a date that I wouldn’t be nervous for. However, this option made me feel a little bit more hopeful about my prospects in the dating pool. It was someone that she knew and trusted enough to suggest them as a potential match for a coworker. Emily didn’t trust easy, I could trust her judgment on this despite my nerves.
I gulped down a large sip of my overly sweetened coffee, collecting my thoughts before then answering, “Alright- I’ll go.”
The date that I was supposed to go on was at a quaint cafe near work. Emily had even made the effort to make sure that I had been there before so I might be more comfortable.
At first I had been extremely excited for the date, even going so far as to pick out my outfit. I would have worn my purple button up, that was the one I got the most compliments in. Emily had told me some stuff that my date was interested in so I made sure to brush up on my knowledge by reading about the topics. I had even called back to the restaurant menu in my mind, preparing myself by picking out what I wanted beforehand. On one of my dates set up through the dating app I had stumbled on my choice for food, making the person unnecessarily snappy. I had to cover all my bases to minimize potential awkwardness on my part.
Self doubt began to creep in after I had gotten fully dressed. I had gotten ready way too early in anticipation for the date, now sitting on my couch tapping my foot impatiently. I looked at my watch that sat over my long sleeves watching the clock tick closer and closed to when I was supposed to leave.
Biting my lip in worry, my mind couldn’t help but wander over into my self doubts. I couldn’t help but ask myself why anyone would want to date someone as tall and lanky as me- or why would someone want to go on a date with someone that couldn’t keep their mouth shut about random topics that no one cared about.
My self doubt swallowed any confidence that I had begun to build up in preparation for the date. I knew Emily would be furious with me tomorrow when I went into work, I didn’t want her to find out through her friend though. Deciding to get it over with I pulled out the phone I never used and texted her, telling her that I wasn’t coming. I told her to give my regrets to my date, who at this point was probably waiting patiently for me at the cafe. Sighing in defeat I then retreated into my bedroom again, crawling under my covers.
——
Emily hadn’t been furious with me- well that was a lie, at first she had stomped up to me the next morning to chew me out. She became more disappointed than anything when she found out my reasonings. She hadn’t mentioned anything about how the person I was supposed to be going on the blind date with felt. Not that I really wanted to hear about it, it would only make me feel worse. All I got from her was a small remark mumbled under her breath, “Idiots- the both of you…”
For the next few weeks I tried in vain to push thoughts of my failed blind date out of my head. I had avoided going in the general direction of the cafe. Luckily I took the metro everyday to work otherwise I’d have to drive by it every day, and I already hated driving.
I was at the bookstore for used booksjust around the corner from the cafe that was supposed to hold my date a few weeks ago. This was the closest I dared to go near it in a while. Since then I hadn’t been able to go there anymore, even though I loved the coffee there. Immense guilt had wormed its way into my brain when I had tried to order something there a week ago. All I had done was stammer at the cashier before bolting out of there, just another addition on the list of embarrassing things that I’ve done in my life.
I was flipping through an old edition of pride and prejudice out of boredom, there hadn’t been anything interesting stocked on the shelves since I had last been here. Then a voice piped up through the air that had a bit of dust flying through it,
“Excuse me, sir- if you’re still looking at that book would you mind if I looked at the ones on the shelf behind you?”
It took me a second before I realized the person was talking to me. I then removed my eyes from the book to blink up at them a few times, then registering what they had said to me and moved out of the way.
Their eyes were still glued to mine, the bookshelf behind me that they had wanted to look at forgotten. An awkward chuckle was all we both could seem to manage as we looked each other up and down. Emily had shown me a picture on her phone of my date so I would have been able to spot them at the restaurant. My cheeks flushed hard once I realized who was standing before me. There was no doubt who this was, the date I had stood up the night before.
Silence then fell between us and not the pleasant kind, it was most definitely awkward. I couldn’t imagine how they must have been feeling after I hadn’t shown up last night. They probably had sat
“Um- hi…” They spoke hesitantly, wringing their fingers in trepidation. My jaw opened and closed a few times, trying to come up with anything to say.
“Hi!” Was all I could manage to squeak out, plus a small wave in their direction.
They wrung their fingers a few more times, seemingly trying to come up with a response. I was surprised they hadn’t hit me with one of the books near them out of anger. It would be a normal response to being stood up for a date, the trepidation and silence just served to unnerve me further. Eventually they spoke again, saving me from anymore awkward silence which in my opinion was worse than awkward conversation, “Um- sorry for um, standing you up uh- a few weeks ago.”
That made my eyes bug out of my head- they had done the exact same thing as I had? Insecurity soon swept in, trying to tell me exactly why they had not shown up without hearing their side of the story. I looked down at the book I was holding, reading a few words for a moment of reprieve. Taking a deep breath I asked quietly, not admitting to my own faults yet, “W-why did you um- not go? If you don’t mind me asking…”
A deep sigh was what I got at first, one that obviously had a lot of stress in it. They then did provide me with an explanation, despite their obvious embarrassment, Well- It had nothing to do with you- a simple explanation would be saying it was my insecurity’s fault.”
Not that I would ever want anyone to feel insecure, but I would admit that them saying that did make my own stress melt away. They had not gone for almost the exact same reasons that me. I decided to be upfront, giving them my own reasoning- though I wasn’t even sure they realized that I hadn’t gone as well. “I don’t know if Emily told you, but I um- stood you up as well. It wasn’t because of anything bad! It was really for the same reason as you.”
They then broke out into giggles after they had processed my words for a second, which were much more relaxed than the awkward ones from before. I didn’t blame them, it was a pretty funny coincidence that we’d both stand each other up only to run into each other not knowing what we had done.
“I feel like we’re in one of those cheesy Hallmark movies right now…” Their comparison only confused me, I had no clue what they were talking about.
“What’s a Hallmark movie?” More giggles came from them at my questioning, though for once I didn’t feel like I was being laughed at. I felt like they were laughing at the whole situation, not at me specifically like so many people had often done. Also, I couldn’t help but admit to myself that their giggle was very cute.
Once their giggles had subsided a little they asked me something that almost no one would ask the person that had stood them up, “Maybe I could tell you over a coffee? If you want to of course- Emily told me about how much sugar you like in it.”
My interest was peaked, making me further regret having stood them up in the first place. Though I tried to push that thought out of the way considering we had both done the same thing. It was time to let that go so I could go on a date with them finally. Seeing them in person and being able to glimpse part of their personality made me want to know more.
“Alright- sure.” I set down the book I had been passively reading, now completely disinterested in it. There was something far more interesting in front of me now compared to a classic book I had read over ten times.
We both walked around the corner, to the cafe that we had originally had our date scheduled at. Conversation flowed easily between us, showing me that Emily had been totally right to set us up initially. Her words now made sense to me, we were both a couple of idiots.
We then got our coffee, which had been much smoother of a transaction compared to the last time I had been here. I took note of how much sugar and cream they liked, just in case we were going to do this again. Sitting down at the closest booth I then asked, “So tell me about Hallmark movies?”

Lucky Charm – Luke Patterson
Summary: Luke is reminiscing about his relationship with you in the past.
Warnings: it’s a bit sad and angst… but also fluff
Words: 4.3k
A/N: (Y/D/J)= your dream job. This is 3rd person unlike my other imagines where I do it in 1st person. Might make a part two to this if y’all want it! I will be getting to y’alls requests ASAP! I’m so excited to write them! Also, italicized is flashback!
Tumblr media
It’s been 25 years since Luke, Alex, and Reggie have died. The first thing that Luke thought of when he died wasn’t just his family, he thought of (Y/N). He thought of how he just left her. They were supposed to be together forever, but that forever was cut short from tainted hot dogs out of a car. The boys have been in the band with Julie for a while now, but Luke couldn’t help but think something was missing while he performed. (Y/N) was that missing puzzle piece. He always called her his lucky charm because he would always perform his best when she was in the crowd.
“Are you going to come to the dance tonight, (Y/N/N)?” Alex asks as the Sunset Curve group walks with the girl to their shared class.
“Hmmm,” (Y/N) hums. “I’m not sure. I have a lot of homework I need to catch up on.”
Luke groans and rolls his eyes at the girl’s excuse. “Oh come on, (Y/N)!” he exclaims, walking in front of her, making him walk backwards. “You have got to live a little every once in a while! All you do is worry about school work. You need to come to the dance. The best band is going to play at the dance!”
(Y/N) tilts her head, “Oh yeah? What band?”
“Sunset Curve, duh!” Reggie says. (Y/N) giggled as she already knew the answer to her question.
“Please?” Bobby pouts. “It’s going to be a lot of fun!”
The group stops outside of the classroom door and she looks at the boys. They all had pleading looks on their faces.
“(Y/N), please!” Luke begs, grabbing her shoulders. “I need my lucky charm tonight. I promise tonight will be worth it!”
(Y/N) looks down at the charm bracelet the boys got her for her 17th birthday. The boys collectively got a charm for her bracelet that meant something to them. Luke got her a clover as she is his lucky charm. She looks back up at the green eyes staring at her waiting for her to answer.
“Fine,” (Y/N) sighed. “I will go to the dance, but you have to promise me that you guys will dance with me!” Luke smiles and pulls her into a quick hug. The rest boys cheered and high fived one another.
Luke wished he could go back to that night. It was a few months before they started dating. He and (Y/N) slow danced together which made him realize that he that had feelings for the girl in the first place. He realized why she was his lucky charm, why his heart would always skip a beat when she laughed, why his palms would get sweaty when she held his hand, why he would always want to be around her because she made him feel safe. He couldn’t stop thinking about her even in the afterlife. He would wonder where she is. Did she get married and have a family? Did she follow her dreams to become a(n) (Y/D/J)? Did she live her life to the fullest? Did she-
Luke’s thoughts were interrupted by a voice calling out to him, “Hey, Luke!” His eyes tore away from his journal he zoned out on. He saw Alex and Reggie standing in front of him.
“Hm?” Luke hummed, sitting up from leaning against the piano.
Alex took a step closer and asks, “Are you okay?”
Luke tosses his journal on the couch and takes off the acoustic guitar that was wrapped around his chest. “Yeah! Just thinking about a new song!” Luke said. Alex tucks his hands into his jacket’s pockets as he doesn’t believe that Luke is okay. He has been spacing out a lot recently.
“Cool! What is it about?” Reggie questions.
“Uh, I’m not sure yet,” Luke answers. “I was just brainstorming. Trying to think of a meaning to it.” Alex turns his attention to the journal. Luke had doodled clovers around the edges of the paper. Alex taps Reggie with his shoulder and tilts his head at the journal. Reggie analyzes the book, realizing what Luke has been thinking about.
“You making another song about (Y/N)?” Reggie wonders, still looking at the song book.
Luke glances at what Reggie was looking. “I don’t know. She’s just been on my mind recently,” he sighs and looks at the floor. Alex and Reggie nod in agreement as they too have been thinking about their friend.
Alex takes another step towards Luke, “Do you want to talk about it?” Luke kept his eyes glued to the ground. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to talk about her. He didn’t know if it would make him feel better, or if he would just burst into tears.
His thoughts were interrupted once more as Julie skips into the room. “Ready to rehearse, guys?” Julie smiles.
Luke puts on a happy face, “Hell, yeah! Let’s rock out!”
Alex and Reggie look at one another, concerned for their best friend who seems to be hurting. The group walks to their respective spots in the studio.
“What song should we start with?” Luke asks as he plugs his electric guitar into the amp.
Julie flipped her song book. “Should we warm up with Finally Free? We haven’t done that song in a while,” Julie suggest.
Luke look at the boys who were nodding their heads in agreement. “Sounds good to us!” he answers for the group.
Julie starts off the song with her intro, and the rest of the band joined in. As they were performing, Luke messed up here and there, but not enough to notice. At least Julie didn’t notice as she was rocking out with the boys. When they finished Finally Free, they decided to do a new song Julie had started writing. They hadn’t settled on a title just yet which was okay because it was still in the works. They started to practice the first verse going into the chorus, but Luke wasn’t 100% focused. He kept playing the wrong chords.
Because he messed up, he let out a load, frustrated groan. The rest of the band halted their actions to look at Luke. “Woah, you good?” Julie asks concerned.
Luke shakes his vigorously to try to get his mind straight, “Yeah! I’m just not used to the pattern yet. Let’s try again.”
Julie looks at Alex and Reggie. They both shrug their shoulders, and they start the song again. However, this time Luke could barely get past the intro without messing up. He tried to continue, but he couldn’t do it.
“Damn it!” Luke shouts, dropping his guitar to hover over his chest as he roughly runs his hands through his hair.
Julie stands up from his keyboard. “Luke?” she softly says. Luke could feel the tears welling up in his eyes.
“I-uh,” Luke stutters as he takes off his guitar. “I need s-some air.” Luke suddenly then poofs out without another word.
Julie looks at the empty space where Luke was standing. She couldn’t figure out why Luke wasn’t in the right head space. He was always focused on the band, or at least he always seems to be. Julie takes her eyes from the dead space to Alex and Reggie who had sad looks on their faces. Reggie takes his bass off and sets it next to Luke’s guitar.
Julie steps off to the side of her keyboard. “What’s up with him?” she asks Alex and Reggie. They glance at each other before Alex steps away from his drums to standing next to Reggie.
“We’ve been thinking about an old friend from back in the 90’s,” Alex confesses.
Julie shrugs her shoulder, “Who? Bobby?”
Reggie shakes his head. “Gosh, no. I wouldn’t want to spend my spare time thinking about that song stealing dummy,” Reggie says in disgust.
“She wasn’t part of Sunset Curve. At least she didn’t perform with us. Her name was (Y/N),” Alex states, ignoring what Reggie said about Bobby.
“(Y/N)? How come I’ve never heard you guys talk about her?” Julie wonders. Both Alex and Reggie shrug their shoulders, unsure why they never talk about one of their best friends. “Well, who was she then?”
A slight smile grew on Alex and Reggie as they thought of (Y/N). Alex started to reminisce the memories of his old friend, “She was one of the most important people in our lives. She helped us with our struggles, helped us study, came to almost all of our gigs, helped us get gigs… she was just the glue of Sunset Curve. We wouldn’t hardly function as a band if it wasn’t for her. She was even the one who got us the gig at the Orpheum…”
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, and Sunset Curve was writing a new song for their new demo. They wanted to make new songs as they always perform the same songs at every gig. “Hey boys,” Luke calls out. Bobby was playing random notes on his guitar, Alex was trying balance his drumstick on his index finger, and Reggie was catching dust. They all turned to Luke who had written some stuff in his song book. “How does this sound? When all the days felt black and white those were the best shades of my life!” Luke sings.
“Dang, Luke!” Bobby exclaimed. “That’s really good! How did you come up with that?”
“I don’t know. It just came to me!” Luke smirks. “I’m also half way done with the song!”
“It’s been, what, 30 minutes and you’re already half way done?!” Alex says. Luke nods his head as he writes down more in his journal. Next thing they know, they hear clicking heels coming from the driveway. They all look up to see (Y/N) with a huge smile on her face.
“Uh, oh. Here comes trouble,” Luke teases. “What’s got you all smiley, babes?”
(Y/N) stops at the entry way of the studio. “Well, I have some pretty big news to tell you boys!” she says, shifting her weight from the balls of her feet to her feels.
“What? You got the best SAT’s scores of the school?” Bobby asks.
“You’re graduating a semester early?” then asks Alex.
“No! You got us a puppy?!” Reggie asks excitedly. The boys looked at Reggie as if he asked the most absurd question ever.
(Y/N) giggled, “As much as I would love to give you a puppy, Reggie, you are incorrect. All of you are incorrect. I just did the best thing that is ever going to happen to Sunset Curve!”
Luke raised an eyebrow, curious at what his girlfriend could have done. “What did you do?” The group slowly walks towards (Y/N). Her smile thinned out as she took a pause for dramatic effect. However, the boys were anticipatingly waiting for her to say something. “WHAT?!” they outburst.
(Y/N) chuckled at the band, and she took out a piece of paper from her back pocket. She cleared her throat dramatically before readings out loud, “Dear Miss (Y/L/N). Thank you for sending us Sunset Curve’s demo and sharing their amazing talent. We would like to offer them the chance of a lifetime. On July 22nd, we would like to invite Sunset Curve to perform here at the…” (Y/N) looks up at the guys who got even closer to her and each other.
“Perform where?!” Reggie shouts.
(Y/N) smiles even wider than ever before she throws her arms in the air and shouts, “TO PERFORM AT THE ORPHEUM BABY!” All four boy’s eyes widened and screamed out happy cheers. Luke tackles (Y/N) in the biggest hug. She wraps her legs around his waist as he ran to the drive way to spin her around.
“This is amazing!” Luke exclaimed, putting his girlfriend down. “You really are our lucky charm!” (Y/N) blushes at the compliment. Luke then presses his lips to hers to give her a sweet kiss. She smiles in the kiss as she is the happiest she has ever been.
“Hey, Patterson. Let us give (Y/N/N) some lovin’!” Bobby tugged on Luke’s shoulders which makes the couple pull away from each other. Alex, Bobby, and Reggie then take their chance to hug (Y/N). Luke joined in by hugging her from behind. They boys thanked the girl over and over again as they were in their group hug.
“Guys!” (Y/N)’s voice muffled from the inside of the hug. “One of you guys need to put on deodorant. Plus, I can’t breathe in here!” They all laughed at her and pulled away from the hug, but Luke kept his arms wrapped around the girl from behind.
“What would we do without you?” Alex smiles.
(Y/N) let out a playful sigh, “I don’t know. Never be able to play anywhere?” She giggled at her own joke. Luke sneaks in a kiss on the cheek. “Alright boys, you need to start rehearsing now that you have this mega-important life changing gig! I will order some pizza and soda so we can celebrate even more tonight!”
“You’re the best (Y/N)!” Bobby says before walking back into the studio with Alex and Reggie.
“You really are the best,” Luke whispers in (Y/N) ear. She turns around and gives him a peck on the lips. “I love you.”
“I love you, too”
Julie felt her heart drop at the thought of Luke hurting even more for leaving behind two of the most important women in is life. Luke is not that open about his past life. Julie couldn’t imagine the pain he has been going through. Alex and Reggie had tears welling up in their eyes as they finished telling the story of how they booked the Orpheum gig. Her mind wandered to a song that she saw when she was flipping through Luke’s song book when Luke wanted to show her Sunset Curve songs. She remembered walking to the studio to hear Luke singing a song she never heard before, but she recognized some of the lyrics from his song book. “She sounds amazing. Do you guys have an old photo of her at all?” Julie questions.
Reggie looks at Alex, knowing he has a picture. “Yeah, I do actually. However, Luke doesn’t know, so please don’t tell him we have this,” Alex says, walking over to his fanny pack that was near his drums.
Julie tilts her head to the side in confusion, “Why doesn’t he know about you having a picture of her?”
Alex grabs his fanny pack and unzips it. “Luke’s been pretty happy recently, but I know that thinking about (Y/N) makes him a little sad. I would hate to show him a picture that brings back all these happy memories to make him sad that they didn’t get to have more of a life together,” Alex explains. Julie slowly nods her head.
Alex reaches in his back and grabs the polaroid picture. He walks back to Julie and hands her the photo. She slightly smiles at the picture. It was of (Y/N) and Luke. (Y/N) had a big smile on her face as Luke was giving her a kiss on the cheek. You could see the pure happiness radiating from the photograph. “Wow, she’s really pretty. Luke was a lucky guy!” Julie compliments. “You know, I’m sure Luke would love to have this picture. I think it’s time you guys should give it to him.”
Julie hands the picture back to Alex. Reggie started to play with his fingers nervously. Alex analyzes the picture in his hand and puts it in his back pocket. “We should probably go look for him,” Alex says quietly. Reggie nods his head and stands closer to Alex. Julie gives the boys a slight smile before they poofed out of the studio.
*****
Luke was sitting at the beach, the water hitting his feet when it came to shore. He watched the sunset which was helping him calm down. Him and (Y/N) liked to come to the beach and watch the sunrise, the sunset, and star gaze all the time! This was their spot when they wanted to get away from everyone and have a bit of privacy with just them two. They would invite the band sometimes to have bonfires and eat s’mores after a gig. Luke watched the lifers around him playing in the water and having fun at the beach. He wished he could join the teenagers jamming in a big circle across the beach.
Suddenly, he hears a poof behind him. He turns around to see Alex and Reggie. “Well, you guys found me,” Luke quietly says, turning back to face the sunset. In his peripheral vision, he saw his friends sit on both sides of him, Alex on his right and Reggie on his left.
“I figured you would be here. You are kind of predicable sometimes,” Alex says. Luke nods his head slightly, agreeing with Alex. “What’s up, Luke?”
Luke lets out a heavy sigh. He takes a handful of sun and lets it fall in-between his fingers. “I just..” he starts. “I just wish I could see her again. I wish I could hold her. I want to know how she’s doing. I wish I knew where she was, so I could see her one last time…”
Reggie patted Luke’s back to try to comfort him, “It’s okay, buddy. I know we all wish we could see her again.”
Luke shakes his head, angry tears forming in his eyes. “Sometimes I wish we didn’t die when we did. There was so much we wanted to do as a band, and there was so much I wanted to do with (Y/N),” Luke exclaims.
Luke shifts his weight to the left to reach in his front pocket. What he takes out of his pocket shocks Alex and Reggie. Luke is holding their best friends charm bracelet. “Wait, you’ve had this this whole time?” Alex asks. Luke nods his head, a tear finally falling on his cheek. Luke turns the bracelet to have the clover charm facing him.
“I found it at my parent’s house. When I first went there to visit them, I went to look at my room to see if anything changed. I found it on my bed with some of my flannels she stole. I don’t know why she would give it back. Maybe because looking at it gave her so much pain. I can’t imagine the pain she went through,” Luke explains.
Alex glances at Reggie who had tears brewing in his eyes as well. He suddenly became anxious as he wasn’t sure how Luke was about to react with what Alex was about to give him. He nervously fidgets before he speaks, “I actually have something to show you.”
Luke turns his gaze to Alex. Alex opens his fanny pack to reach for the photograph. Luke looks at his friend’s hand to see the polaroid picture. He hesitantly grabs the photo. He lets out a sad chuckle. It was the picture of (Y/N) and Luke. “Where did you find this?” Luke asks.
“I found it when I found our stuff upstairs in the loft. I’m sorry I didn’t give this to you earlier,” Alex apologizes.
Luke shakes his head to dismiss Alex’s apology. He studies the picture of the two of them. He remembered this day vividly. It was him and (Y/N)’s first date. He had taken her to a drive-in movie and ice cream. The picture was taken right before the movie had started. (Y/N) had always taken polaroid pictures for the memories. She had given this to Luke because she wanted him to remember that day, but how could he forget? He would never forget her or the memories they shared.
(Y/N) and Luke were setting up the back of his truck before the movie. Luke was spreading out the blanket and pillows while (Y/N) was grabbing the snacks from the front. Once they finished, they jumped in the trunk and started to get comfortable. “Are you excided?” Luke asks (Y/N).
She pulls the blanket to her lap, “Yes! I’ve always wanted to go to a drive-in movie!” Luke smiles at her excitedness.
“I know!” Luke says. (Y/N) slightly smiles and looks down at her lap, blushing. “Which snack would you like to eat first, m’lady?” he asks in a dramatic British accent.
(Y/N) giggles. “Hmmm, why sir pass me the sour gummy worms!” she replies too in a silly British accent.
Luke chuckles, grabs the snack, and hands it to her. She opens the bag and takes out a blue and red gummy worm. She eats the blue side first and looks at Luke who was watching her the whole time. She could feel her cheeks getting warmer. She flicks her wrist to give the red side of the gummy worm to Luke. He looks at the gummy worm before grabbing it and taking a bite. “This is crazy, you know?” (Y/N) admits.
Luke sits up a bit and furrows his brows. “How?” he questions.
She shrugs. “I don’t know,” she mumbles. “Sitting here.. on a date.. with one of my best friends who I’ve had a crush on for forever. I never thought it would actually happen.”
She kept her gaze on her lap, playing with a gummy worm. Luke cocks his head to the side to try to get her to look at him. However, she continues to look down. He takes his hand and pushes her chin gently to face her towards him. She looks into his green eyes. “Well, you better believe it because I wouldn’t want to be on a date with anyone else,” he says. He tilts her head down and gives her a kiss on the forehead.
(Y/N) then remembered that she had her camera in her bag. “Wait!” she exclaims. Luke moves to the side a bit as she reaches for her bag that is behind them. She unzips her bag to grab her polaroid camera. “I want to take a picture!”
“How come you always bring that where ever you go?” Luke wonders.
She fidgets the camera in her hands. “I want to create memories. I want to remember my adventures and experiences. I want to remember it all, so I take pictures,” she says, checking to see if she has enough film.
Luke smiles, “That’s amazing!”
(Y/N) scoots closer to Luke and angles the camera up to get them both in frame. They smile, getting ready to take the picture. He then had an idea for a great picture. Right as she pushes the button, he kisses her cheek. (Y/N) smiles even wider and lets out a slight giggle. The film shoots out and she grabs the photo. She looks at Luke who was smiling like a kid in a candy store. You could see the love and adore in his eyes. Luke flicks his eyes to her lips for a second, but it was enough for her to notice. He leans in, but she stops him. “I thought you weren’t supposed to kiss until after the date. Or even on the first date at all?” (Y/N) jokes.
“We can be different,” Luke smirks before giving her a kiss. As his lips touch her, she takes in a large breath and leans forward in the kiss. He takes his hand and places it on her cheek to deepen the kiss. Butterflies were flying around in their stomachs. (Y/N) pulls away slowly.
Luke opens his eyes to see her cheeks were bright red. “The movies about to start,” (Y/N) says. He chuckles and pecks her lips one more time. They shift around to where they were laying down, resting on the pillows behind them. (Y/N)’s head rested on Luke’s shoulder. She grabs the bag of sour gummy worms and takes a handful out. “Gummy worms?” she asks Luke.
Luke looks down to see her handing him some gummy worms. “Don’t mind if I do,” he says and takes the candy out of her hand to place it on his chest. As the movie starts, Luke smiles to himself. He’s on one of many dates him and (Y/N) will be on, and he couldn’t wait.
Luke didn’t notice that he was full on sobbing when he was reminiscing on the past. He suddenly felt a hand rubbing his back, trying to comfort him. He looks to see Reggie comforting him. Luke pats Reggie on the back to thank him. “It’s okay to be sad, Luke,” Alex says. Luke looks at Alex and nods. “You don’t have to be strong all the time.”
Luke thins his lip in a sad smile. Luke puts the photo and the bracelet back in his front pocket. He wipes his wet face and sniffs the snot that his slightly falling out of his nose. “Let’s get back to the studio. Even though we don’t sleep, I need a nap,” Luke says, getting up and wiping the sand off of his pants.
Luke looks around the beach once more to see the lifers having fun. Alex and Reggie follow Luke’s actions and stand up as well. Luke walks towards the teenagers still playing their guitars and singing around the fire. He watches them smile and laugh with one another. Alex places his hand on Luke’s shoulder to signal that they should leave.
Before they poofed back to the studio, Luke noticed someone in the distance. He saw someone watching the group of teenagers like he was. He noticed the (Y/H/C) girl wiping away a tear from her eye. Then, their eyes connected. He recognized those (Y/E/C) eyes. He squints and walks closer to get a better look. He halted as he got a little closer. His heart beat quickened at the sight of her.
“(Y/N)?” he whispered before the girl poofed away. Luke’s breath started to quicken as he couldn’t believe his eyes.
“Luke?” Reggie called out. Luke turned around. “What’s wrong?”
“I think I just saw (Y/N)!”

Tumblr media
[Kwannie] 8:45pm: Hey babe do you think you could come over? I have a bit of a problem...
The text came to you by surprise that Wednesday evening while you were trying to complete an assignment for one of your classes. While he couldn’t see your voice crinkle in concern, you immediately texted him back, asking if he was okay and how soon he wanted you to come over.
His response came before you could even turn your phone off and put it back on your desk, a text that was punctuated with weird emojis as well as the words “now please”, which made you worry even more. You sighed and began packing up your assignment, knowing you could just do it in the morning before the class began.
[You] 8:54pm: I’m just heading over now, I’ll be over soon :)
He sent a smiley face back just as you hopped in your car and turned the ignition on. Your mind wandered to what his problem could possibly be, it could really be anything from him having a small paper cut on his finger, to one of his members having an argument with him and he wanted to be cheered up, or he was needy.
It didn’t take long until you reached his dorm room he shared with a few of his band mates. Upon knocking lightly on the door, Vernon swung the door open, breaking out into a huge grin upon seeing your face. “Y/N! We weren't expecting to see you tonight, is everything okay?” He asked, shuffling aside so you could step in and toe off your shoes.
“Seungkwan text me and asked me to come over, do you know where he is?” you questioned, Vernon tilting his head in the direction of Seungkwan’s room. He gave you a small smile just as you walked past him, but grabbed your wrist before you could walk any further. You spun back around with a questioning look on your face, when Vernon opened his mouth to speak. “He’s been a little...off today? I’m not sure why but...just be careful” he spoke slowly before letting your wrist go.
Now you were even more concerned for your boyfriend with Vernon’s words hanging around in your mind, wondering what could have put him in such a foul mood that he had been off all day. You stood in front of Seungkwan’s closed bedroom door, taking a few deep breaths and mentally preparing yourself for what may lay behind the door. You knocked softly on the wood, and the door instantly opened.
Seungkwan looked like he had been through hell and back. His brown hair was sticking up in every direction, bags under his eyes and hadn't even bothered to put a shirt on. Your eyes raked down his body, taking in his lightly toned body and soft skin. Before you could even open your mouth to say a word to him, he had pulled you into his room and shut the door.
You flipped around to face him once you had gotten your surroundings, trying to distinguish what his problem was. “Seungkwan...are you okay?” you spoke, moving towards him to comb your fingers through his hair. The action seemed to make him relax a little, leaning into your touch and slowly wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you closer.
“Sorry if I scared you with my earlier text, I just...need to let off some steam, or vent, or eat something i don't know” he rambled, eyes now closed as you played with the hair on the nape of his neck, something you knew he adored. “What happened baby?” you asked, leading him to sit down on his bed so you could both be more comfortable.
He blushed at your pet name for him, glancing into your eyes that held so much adoration for him. “I’m so stressed about this singing cover I have to do in a few weeks, it’s for a big movie and I just can’t seem to hit the notes they want me to. It’s been bugging me all day, I hope you aren’t mad that I interrupted your studying” his voice trailed off, eyes cast downwards to play with his fingers. You simply smiled and pulled him in for a big hug, him immediately wrapping his arms around you.
“It’s okay baby don’t worry about it, I’m here to look after you okay?” you spoke gently, pulling his jaw up gently so you could meet his eyes, before leaning in to kiss him softly. He kissed back with passion and adoration, letting his hands wander up to your neck to hold you in place as he continued to kiss you. Your hands gripped his shoulders, letting your fingers dance along the skin as he deepened the kiss, a small sigh leaving your lips.
He pulled away from you so you could both catch your breath, his lips swollen and a pink hue dusting his cheeks. You moved up so that you were standing above him and he was still sitting on the bed, before leaning to kiss him once more. “Go and lay at the top of the bed Kwannie, I wanna help you get rid of your stress” you smiled, watching as he quickly wriggled his way up toward the headboard, hands resting on his side as you crawled towards him and sat on top of his thighs.
His Adam’s apple bobbed as you skimmed your hand over his chest, mouth moving down to leave kisses and small marks all over his neck. While you continued moving your hands over his burning skin, he moved his hands upwards to grasp your hips, trying to keep a somewhat stable hold on reality. His eyes met yours and he pulled you in for a deep kiss, opening his mouth to explore your own, a small moan emitting from his lips.
“You taste so good” he remarked, his hands wandering up once again to fondle with your breasts, playing with them over the cotton fabric of your bra. He was satisfied when you whimpered, before you became impatient and all but ripped the bra off yourself, freeing yourself while Seungkwan hummed in appreciation, taking a nipple into his mouth and sucking gently.
The pleasure was getting to your head, and fast. You hadn’t even realized that Seungkwan had flipped you onto your back and was now pulling your panties down, while rushing to get his boxers off to free his straining erection. Without thinking, he had dipped two fingers into your pussy and began thrusting them, making your back arch off the bed in surprise. A loud moan escaped your lips, before Seungkwan shoved one of his hands over your mouth, effectively silencing your moans.
“As much as I love hearing how good I make you feel, you need to stay quiet so that no-one else can hear you. Got it?” His voice was rough at the end and you nodded at his sudden dominant behaviour, it turning you on even more. He lined his cock up with your entrance and thrust in with one push, your loud moan still silenced by Seungkwan’s hand as he began a brutal pace almost immediately, his face crinkled in concentration.
You could see how much stress he had been under by the way he was thrusting hard and fast, and his hands were gripping your hips in a way that was sure to leave bruises. His hand was still covering your mouth, and he was whispering filthy words into your ear about what he wanted to do to you and praising you for taking his cock so well.
He was so immersed in thrusting into your pussy that he hadn’t realised that he forgot to lock his door, meaning that Mingyu just opened the door and strutted in, not even knocking or glancing in his direction as he was immersed in some video game on his device. “M-mingyu !!” you managed to squeak out between his thrusts, which made Seungkwan halt his moving altogether.
“Did you just say Mingyu’s name?!” hurt was laced through his tone as he stared you down, waiting for an explanation. “Do you want him? Or are you seeing him behind my back?” His rapid fire questions toward you made Mingyu finally look up from his device and immediately he turned crimson, his legs failing to move at the sight in front of him. “Seungkwan no!! He’s standing right there...” you trailed off, and Seungkwan whipped his head around to see the lanky man standing in the doorway, jaw dropped and his device willing to drop from his hand.
“Mingyu get the fuck out! Can’t you see I’m busy?!” Seungkwan shouted, the older male profusely apologizing as he shut the door quickly, still apologizing through the door. Seungkwan turned back to you and thrusted with a renewed vigour, now thrusting even harder and faster than before since he was now mad at one of his housemates for barging in. His hand moved off your mouth, now letting you moan freely and not caring who heard.
“That’s right baby, let everyone hear who’s making you feel this good. I’m the only one who can make you feel this good right? The only one who gets to fuck this tight pussy” with each thrust and word he spoke it sent you further and further into bliss, your orgasm threatening to spill over any second.
“Kwannie, m’gonna cum, please let me cum!!” you squealed, his thrusts growing sloppy as he too, neared his desired release. “Cum for me baby girl, cum all over my cock and get me all wet” he groaned, reaching a hand down to roughly circle your clit and throw you over the edge. A scream ripped from your lips as your orgasm hit you, the waves of pleasure continuously rolling through you. Seungkwan came not long after you with a few more thrusts, a loud groan leaving his lips.
He rolled to the side once he had pulled out of you, both of you breathing heavily and trying to finish riding out your highs. Seungkwan moved closer to you, pulling you into his side as he stroked your arm softly, leaving soft kisses up and down your neck. “I’m sorry about all that stuff I said earlier...” he whispered, kissing your cheek and blushing. You simply shake your head and “It’s fine Kwannie, I know you were stressed. Did I help you with your stress at all?” you spoke softly to him, tracing patterns on his chest.
“You sure did baby, thank you for being my stress relief” he sighed, before grabbing some tissues from his nightstand before wiping you down gently, apologizing profusely when you winced or whined in pain. He got up and grabbed you a bottle of water from his desk, which you downed quickly to redeem your parched throat.
You snuggled into his sheets that smelled like a mixture of coffee and cinnamon, and were slowly being lulled to sleep. “I’ll be back in one second baby, I just have to step out for a second” and you nodded, immediately knowing what he was going to do and a small giggle left your lips. The bedroom door shut and you could hear Seungkwan calling for Mingyu, asking him what his problem was and you could barely just hear the tall man begging for forgiveness.
Your boyfriend returned a little while later and rolled in next to you, his warmth seeping into your skin and you moved closer to him with a content sigh. As if on instinct, he pulled you in and spooned you, his arm draped around your waist and his nose nestling into the crook of your neck. He was much more stress free now that you were with him, and he couldn’t thank you enough.

Every Stitch With Love
been on a writing spree. tbh feelin lots of burnout from my other hobbies. welp here we are. this one feels more emotional. bucky and you come to an understanding. bucky x reader. 1690 words. noice
Being an Avenger meant that either all your time was taken up, or you had all the time in the world. There was never a casual day where you went to work in the day and hung out with friends in the evening. It was never go out for brunch then come back and do some paperwork. You were either swamped with field reports or had an empty desk.
However, you were never free enough to pick up a real hobby, like book club on Thursdays or pottery class on Saturdays. You were always a wrist flick away from being sent on a mission for days, weeks, or months. That meant getting creative with your free time. Most of the Avengers indulged in some work related hobby: Natasha did ballet, Steve went on runs, Tony working with his suits.
Working out has never been my favorite, so I had to get extra creative. Reading is usually reliable. It only sucks when you come back from a two month long mission to the last book of a seven book series with little to no knowledge of what’s happening. That’s always fun. Baking was fun, until you strike some bad luck and everything you make sucks.
I picked up a new hobby a few months ago though: embroidery. The texture of the fabric, the cool needle, the transformation. It was the perfect muscle memory hobby. You just follow the pattern. It gives your brain just enough of that itch to keep it happy, but it’s easy enough that you can just disconnect and autopilot the entire time.
At first, my room and the commons became littered with embroidery hoops with simple designs. It quickly transformed to patching peoples clothing. Suits were always professionally patched or replaced, but you’ve got that special shirt or pair of pants that you just can’t get rid of. From there, I quickly grew bored and started giving people extra designs with their patched clothing. Natasha usually got edgy things: knives, flowers, spiders. Wanda always got flowers with the flowy lines and designs. Cap and Sam got lots of stars with the occasional firework. Tony got the funny, immature designs. Soon, people were coming to me with designs. Natasha wanted a sweatshirt with an embroidered sleeve like a tattoo sleeve. Peter wanted a Spider-Man hoodie. Tony wanted matching pocket tees for him and Bruce. That inspired me to make matching pocket tees for Steve, Sam, and Bucky.
Everything in the past had always been fun and easy. Everything changed when I decided to make Bucky something. I nearly threw myself in the lake trying to come up with the design. Actually putting my designs on a shirt was entirely different. I spent countless days and nights trying to make it absolutely perfect. It basically meant I was holed up in my room for who knows how long to also keep it hidden from him.
Knock knock. “It’s me, Nat. Just checking in.”
“Come in.” Natasha slipped in and quickly closed the door. She scanned my room. Nearly every surface was covered with pieces of cardigan or string. “It looks like a confetti cannon went off in here but with your yarn stuff.”
“Thanks Tasha. I’ve only spent, oh I don’t know, thirteen days in here trying to get my design right.” I huffed and threw down the shirt; my head dropping to my hands. “I don’t get it. Why can’t I do this, Tasha. I’ve been embroidering for months, and suddenly, I woke up and can no longer do it.”
“Honey, you’re overworking yourself. You just need to take a break. Let yourself rest then try again in a week.”
“I can’t do that! I want this to be done by the time he gets back from his mission. It’s his first mission since he was freed. I know it can be hard. I just...I just want him to come back to something that shows him I’m here.”
Natasha couldn’t help but frown. Ever since Bucky had joined the team, you two had had a rough relationship. The two of you were very private and closed off. It almost felt like putting two brick walls in front of each other to converse. Soon, the two of you were able to find a solid middle ground, but it was still really hard some days. You both denied it, but the love between you two was undeniable. There was still a bit of growing before the relationship had enough foundation though.
“I’m sorry. I can always go and sabotage the mission. Make them have to stay longer to give you more time.”
“Good heavens, no! I wouldn’t want him to have to be out of his comfort zone for a moment longer than necessary. I’ll just- just give him the best product I have when he gets back. It’s only a few days now. I’ve got enough time to start a new one but that’s it.”
“That’s the spirit. You usually work well under pressure; I’ve seen you cook dinner. I know it will be perfect.”
“Thanks Tasha. Guess I need to make a trip into town.”
Today was the day. Bucky. Steve, and Sam should be arriving within the hour. Return day from a mission was always rough. It always seemed like the day could never end. I’ve spent all morning doing everything I can to prevent that. A warm chicken pot pie, comfy socks, fresh drinks, and a clean area always helped. It may have been influenced by some mania, but that’s for another time.
“Miss, the group will be here in approximately 15 minutes. They have a debriefing then they should be free for the remaining portion of the day.”
“Perfect. My pot pie will be out in just enough time. Thank you F.R.I.D.A.Y.”
15 minutes to finish preparations, take pot pie out of the oven, change into clean cosy clothes, dish out food, then spend the final minutes preparing myself.
“Welcome home guys!”
They were shocked to say the least. Usually everyone avoided each other on mission days. It was always awkward despite them all going through the relatively same thing.
“I made chicken pot pie and got some comfy clothes ready, so y’all can just pick up your stuff and head to your rooms for some decompression.” Steve and Sam quickly, but gratefully, grabbed their designated plate and clothes and headed to their rooms. Bucky lingered though.
“I- uh, thank you, doll. It was very kind of you to do all this.”
“It’s no trouble, Bucky. I- uh actually have something else for you. I’ve been working on it for a while.” I quickly grab the box on top of the fridge. “I wanted to make you something cozy. I know- um that we’ve had a rough time becoming friends, but I wanted something to say that I’m always there for you even if we aren’t together...ya know? Uh, here you go.”
Bucky stares down at the box for a long time. Like an awkward amount of time. Enough for Natasha to come into the kitchen, realize what was trying to happen, and quickly flee.
Finally, his hand reaches for the ribbon, gently pulling it from the delicate bow. He sets the ribbon on the counter behind him. He carefully removed the top to reveal the insid-oh god. That’s...that’s the wrong sweater. Oh no. No no no no no. This can’t be happening.
“Wait, You can’t look at that. That’s- that’s not right. I must’ve made a mist-”
“Doll?”
“Yes, Bucky?”
“You made this for me?”
“Yes. I’ve made countless variations. That one is just the first one. I promise if you let me go grab the right one you’ll love it ev-”
“Doll?”
“Yes, Bucky?”
“You made this for me. You created this. With the intention of giving to me.” I can see the tears begin to sparkle on the edges of his eyes. The blue becomes stormy. “You made this with thoughts of me. You said you made countless versions. You thought of me the entire time I was gone.” He unfolded the cardigan and holds it out in front of himself. “Just like I thought of you. Every second my mind was running back to you. I thought going on that mission would make me feel better; make me feel like I’m finally contributing towards bettering the world from myself. But I was wrong. I was better with you.” He slips the cardigan over his shoulders. It fits him just as I imagined. “I’m better with you. I’ll admit, therapy and my mission helped, but it’s you. Just knowing that you are in my corner, thinking of me and cheering me on...i just. You know?”
At this point, tears are streaming down both of our faces. We’ve had our moments of vulnerability but nothing like this. We both take that step forward into each other’s arms. We’re both engulfed with love. We squeeze each other, trying to get closer to one another. His scent engulfs me: his musky cologne and the sweat from his mission. His tears dampen my neck, but I imagine his neck is damp with mine. I can feel his heart beating through his chest; fluttering like a bird.
We hold each other for a long time: pot pie and a shower lost to time. At some point, we become one. His beginnings become my endings. In that time, there were no more words. It was completely silent, but we had a conversation. Every gentle caress, every heavy breath, every move became more. Bucky and I have never had a conversation as deep and understanding as that one, and we never will again. To connect with someone like that is a once in a lifetime thing. Not just anyone can rub your back and pull you close like Bucky can.
Eventually, we had to get up. Dinner was soon, and people would begin to use this area again.
“Bucky. We need to get up.”
“Just- just a few more minutes, doll. I’m not ready to let go of you yet.”

Stranded - Thomas
Author: @mf-despair-queen
Pairing: Thomas/Reader
Word Count: 11,426
Summary: You hated him. You despised him. He was arrogant for what he had done, taking down WICKED. He was the reason that your friends had died in the attack. But, when you find yourself stuck at sea, or even worse, stranded on a deserted island with Thomas, you find yourself realizing you were wrong.
Warnings: NSFW, 18+, Unprotected Sex, Oral, Choking, Sex in the Water, kinda public sex I guess?, Multiple Orgasms, Dirty Talk
Notes: I guess I live??? I guess I still write. I don’t even know anymore y’all. I’m sorry I don’t post often these days. And I’m sorry this is as late as it is. It was meant for @writingsbychlo‘s Thomas month three months ago but between work and laziness, I didn’t finish on time. Because, essentially, I suck ass. And tbh, I’m not incredibly happy with the outcome of this. It could have been way better than it was because I loved the idea a lot. But at this point, it’s as good as it’s going to get and I just want it done and out there. Hope y’all enjoy it. Big thanks to @roscoeknows and @brien-odylan for always pushing me with this, and @jagked-up for being a sweetie and proofreading for me.

“Gather around everyone!” Vince yelled, his voice dictating the crowd of survivors to the beach front for the early morning discussions. You flopped to the sandy ground, wrapping your arms loosely around your knees that were tucked into your chest. Sharing a few nods with your friends as they passed by, you avoided the gaze of the ex-WICKED test subjects from maze A.
Many of the boys were kind and you got along with easily, but it was the tall, dark haired former runner that never struck you right. Upon learning that he had worked with WICKED growing up, and the downfall of the Right Arm shortly after his arrival, you decided to stay clear of the man, choosing to never forgive him for ruining the home you worked so hard for - causing the death of those who were close to you and raised you to who you are now. That, and he always seemed to be full of himself for his help in saving many people and stopping WICKED.
Well, that’s what you heard from some of your closest friends at least.
You had never truly interacted with the male for long periods of time. It was always in passing during dinner or around camp while getting work done. He would occasionally try to strike up a conversation, but you gave some excuse before running off, letting out a huff of annoyance that he would never get the hint. His aura was aggravating without reason, but you had no plans to befriend the amnesiac.
Turning your gaze towards Vince, who stood upon a rickety stage made of driftwood and fallen branches along the edge of the forest behind camp that you feared would break under his heavy, muscled stature and weighted boots, your ears perked up to hear his morning announcements.
“Good morning everyone,” he called, voice as authoritative as ever. “Based on some recent discussions and feedback from everyone for their tasks around the Safe Haven we have decided to try out a new method for jobs. Moral has been low because people have been mentioning that they have felt things have gone stale because they’ve been doing the same job every day since we situated here, free of infection, free from WICKED."
“So, in an attempt to raise the mood around here, we will be testing out a lottery draw for daily tasks. Remember, this is just a trial run to see how people like it and I think it’ll be good for everyone to be familiar with all of the jobs. And so you are all aware, there will be no job swapping. Once you choose something, that is what you’ll be doing for that day.”
You pouted at yourself, huffing in annoyance. A lottery? Seriously? There were a number of jobs you wished to avoid, namely the ones that involved tending to the pigs that were being raised and handling slimy things that made you cringe. To top it off, you would potentially have to work with people you didn’t know or get along with instead of the people you knew you could stand for more than a few hours.
“We have set up a station outside the dining commons for you to choose your job for the day. And we’ll get some feedback during dinner to see how things went. We’ll decide after a couple weeks if we want to keep it like this, try something new, or go back to how it was before. So please everyone, line up to draw your job for the day.”
You let out a heavy sigh, watching numerous people rush towards the job drawing, uttering something about wanting to be first in line or hoping that they have a better chance at a better task. You were slow to stand, regrettably joining the line of people while patting the sand off your backside. Silently praying you didn’t get struck with a case of bad luck for once, you watched people one by one choose their jobs. Some cheered while others wept, being consoled by their friends. Your own friends - or the group you typically hung with - chose their jobs, luckily ending up in the same task of harvesting the gardens.
Your eyes narrowed on the group of former test subjects that chatted happily after choosing their jobs. Minho, the hulky athletic male of the group, flexed and laughed at his choosing of forest running, gathering food and wood for the village. Newt, the timid brainiac that was lucky to have survived not only a stab wound but the Flare as well, was working the medical room, which he seemed pleased about. Whereas Thomas, your least favorite person in the Safe Haven, was silent, showing an awkward, lopsided smile that you couldn’t read. Was he happy about his job? Disappointed? Apathetic?
Who cares.
You turned from the trio as you approached the box yourself, staring one of the leaders named Mark in the eye. With a short nod at the older gentleman, you stuck your small hand through the hold in the top, feeling the dwindled number of papers inside. One last inaudible prayer later, you were pulling the slip out, eyes clenched shut and bated breath.
Your heart fell when you finally cracked your eyes open, seeing the words sloppily written on the strip. Fishing. You dreaded fishing. As much as you loved to eat the seafood that was brought back each day, you couldn’t stand the task itself. You hated the tedious task of dropping a net or sitting with a pole, waiting for something to happen while the boat that you felt would capsize with ease, swaying with the ocean waves. Add in dealing with the fish, grabbing at their slimy, scaly bodies while they wiggled aimlessly was less than appealing.
Why, of all things, did you have to draw fishing?
You let your thoughts consume you as you dragged your feet towards the beach where the small boat was waiting. With the lack of resources, and a recently lost boat from a hole in the bottom, only two people that could go fishing at the moment. There was a stockpile in the Safe Haven, luckily, but no one wanted to let the supply drop too low too fast. Your thoughts drifted to who you could be paired with. Hopefully it was someone that could manage for you both, that enjoyed fishing more than you. Maybe you would get paired with Gally, or even Aris. They were people that could manage stuff like this.
“Hey Y/N.”
With a screech, you fell forward into the sand, caught off guard at the deep voice before you. The person cursed, rushing forward to help you up. A somewhat tanned, veiny hand extended towards you, appearing in your sight to counter the grainy ground under you that your knees and hands were buried in.
“Thanks,” you mumbled, a blush spreading over your cheeks as you took their hand. But the blush disappeared, your face paling when you realized who it was. Thomas stood before you, helping you to stand to your feet. He gave a toothy smile, staring at you with chocolate hazelnut eyes. The sparkle in his orbs diminished slightly when you slid your hand from his, turning away to brush off your jeans. “Oh, hi Thomas.”
“Don’t sound so thrilled to see me,” he sarcastically bit, tilting his head. You scoffed at him, earning a frown from the man.
“What are you doing here?” you asked shortly.
Thomas rose a brow, turning and pointing at the small boat that was sitting on the shore, already filled with the various fishing supplies you would need. “I drew fishing today,” he said, turning back to you. “I assume you did too?”
“Great,” you mumbled under your breath, letting out a sigh. Holding up the small paper for him to see, you spoke up, “Yeah. I’m unfortunately fishing today.”
“Unfortunate because you hate fishing?” He asked. You were about to nod in confirmation before he continued. “Or, unfortunate because you’re with me?”
At his harsh statement, you frowned, gaping at the man. You struggled to find the right words for him, mouth opening and closing a few times before you managed to utter one word. “Thomas…”
“Come on,” he cut you off, nodding towards the small boat, giving that same awkward smile as before. “We have fishing to do and I’d rather not get bitched at by Vince later.”
That made you snicker, nodding in agreement. “Same though.”
Before long, you were rowing out into the middle of the ocean, the shoreline disappearing. You struggled to prepare the nets and rods, not wanting to watch Thomas row the boat. You hated to admit, but up close, he was handsome. And with him straining his muscles to row, you could easily see his biceps flexing through his dark blue shirt. The sleeves ended just below his elbow, so you had a clear shot of the veins that protruded along his arms.
It was a struggle not to watch him, constantly reminding yourself that you didn’t care for the man before you after everything that happened.
An uncomfortable silence settled between you both when he settled on a spot that seemed to be flourishing with fish. The net was dropped and the rods were cast. You sat in the boat away from each other, staring off into the distance with your backs together, the waiting game upon you. The sun was slowly moving overhead, taunting you with the passage of time. Despite the abundance of fish, nothing seemed to be biting.
Your heart was steadily hammering faster, yet you couldn’t tell if it was because you were sitting alone with Thomas or if it was because every jostle of the boat left you anxious. Thomas seemed to notice your skittish nature behind him, feeling your body jerk and tremble every time the boat would rock more than the last time.
“Are you ok?” he asked, turning to look at you over his shoulder. The second he asked, the boat shook, making you squeal in surprise.
“Fuck, I’m going to die,” you cried, placing the rod aside and resting your elbows on your knees. Thomas blinked, placing his own rod down so he could turn and stare at you.
“Come again?”
“Don’t you get it? I’m too young to die at sea!” you cried louder. The boat shook again, making you squeak once more. “Fuck, I swear that has got to be a shark. This is something straight out of Jaws!”
“...Jaws?”
“Yeah, you know,” you ranted, turning to face him. “That classic movie about the shark that was terrorizing Amity Beach? They had like… three sequels? It was a massive shark that would come and kill people!”
“I… don’t know.”
“Well, what about 47 Meters Down? Granted, we don’t have a diving cage, but we could basically be surrounded by sharks and we have nowhere to go. We are in the middle of the ocean, Thomas!”
“I don’t know that one either.”
“How could you not know them?” you hollered.
Thomas scoffed. “Well, excuse me for losing my memory while in the maze.”
“But I thought you got some memories back from that… that one thing.” You faintly remember hearing about that from your friends.
“I remembered stuff about WICKED. Doesn’t mean I remember your shitty movies!” he snapped.
You growled at him. “God, why are you such an asshole?”
“Why are you such a bitch?” he huffed.
“Thanks for the compliment. I know I’m a babe in total control of herself,” was your smug response, flashing him a smirk. Thomas rolled his eyes, turning away from you.
“God, why did I have to get stuck with you?” he grumbled.
“Because I’m obviously amazing,” you told him, turning to stare at the horizon.
“Fuck you.”
“You would like that.”
You expect him to retort, but he said nothing. You blinked in confusion, turning back to him. He wasn’t facing you, so you only got the backside of his head. Your face fell, a sorrowful thump in your chest making it ache. For some reason, you felt bad for his silence, afraid you had done something wrong. It felt as though his mood dropped, and you couldn’t pinpoint why.
Instead of asking though, you turned and picked up the rod, hoping something would bite soon.
“You know,” he spoke up suddenly, making you jump. “I know you don’t like me.”
Shocked, you turned to him, only to find he still wasn’t facing you. “What? Thomas, no. I don’t-”
“I understand though,” he murmured. “You were happy with the Right Arm before we came. And then within one day, everything you knew and loved was lost. You lost those who practically raised you, like Mary. And it’s all my fault.”
“Thomas…”
“I’ve been trying to make amends for what happened. I know I can’t change what happened, but I wanted to apologize. And you’re the last person I need to apologize to for what happened. I really fucked up that day and I feel bad that I caused so many problems. But you never give me the chance to apologize to you because you are always ignoring me.”
You stared down at your feet, guilt washing over you. This entire time, you had scrutinized him for what he had done and what had happened, judging him for things of his past. You never took the chance to learn who he was and understand how he was feeling. You sighed softly, shifting in your seat, letting silence befall you again.
The boat shook, making you gasp, grasping at the edges of the boat. “Oh my god. What the fuck was that?”
Thomas chuckled. “It was just the waves, Y/N. Calm down.”
“If I get eaten by a shark-” The boat shook more, making you both stumble slightly in the uneven waves. “Oh my god. It’s Jaws!”
“There is no Jaws!”
“I’m too young to die at sea! Why did I have to get ‘fishing’? If I was going to die, why couldn’t I, oh I don’t know, follow the butterflies?” you bellowed. “Fuck, I hate the ocean. Nothing good ever happens out here.”
“Y/N-”
“Is it Jaws?!”
Thomas turned quickly in his seat, just as you turned to face him, wrapping his arms around you.
“Hold on!”
Your eyes widened, feeling the boat shake and shift, being tossed around as the water around you grew aggressive. Your skin paled, barely managing to take a gulp of air before the large wave that was hurtling towards you crashed into the boat, sending you and Thomas toppling into the dark ocean. The waves pushed you around, Thomas barely able to keep his grasp on you.
Your head was spinning.
Your eyes were blurry and unfocused, burning from the salt water.
Your throat ached, wanting to breathe air that wasn’t present as you struggled to figure out which way was up.
Your vision slowly blurred, going black before long, suffocating on the water around you.
~
A burst of air filled your lungs, your body retching to rid itself of water. You were turned on your side as the water escaped, low heaves and coughs leaving you. When you managed to catch your breath, breathing normally, you flopped back onto your back, staring up at the blue sky. Blinking a few times, you tried to remember what happened.
“Are you ok?” Thomas spoke beside you.
That’s when it hit. You turned to him, eyes slowly widening. You jumped to your feet, stumbling around to look at your surroundings. There was a forest on one side, and the ocean on the other. Wood from the destroyed boat was still washing onto the shore, some of your belongings that managed to survive were scattered in the sand. Nothing was in sight around you - no Safe Haven close to return to.
You glanced down at Thomas, taking note of his dripping wet locks that stuck to his forehead. His shirt and pants clung to his limbs, making his chest and arms stick out more, accentuating the thick thighs you never took the time to notice. Sand stuck to his wet skin, but he didn’t seem fazed by the grainy substance. He was panting, slouched in the sand before where you form once laid.
“Be careful,” he called. “Don’t rush too fast. You just woke up from nearly drowning.”
“Where are we?” you asked.
“I don’t know,” he hummed lowly. “When I finally managed to get us to the surface, this is where we had ended up.”
“So, are you trying to say,” you choked, crouching down into a ball. “That we are stranded?”
“I think so.”
“I’m stranded here with you?” Thomas nodded. You groaned, taking a handful of sand and throwing it away from you both. “Fuck!”
“Y/N, calm down-”
You didn’t listen, rushing to the edge of the water. The waves splashed around your already wet feet, your shoes sinking into the wet sand. “Hello?” you called loudly, cupping your mouth to amplify your voice. “Can anyone hear me? Help! We are stuck out here!”
“Hey, hey. Stop that,” Thomas called, standing from his seat and making his way towards you. He took your hands as you continued to scream into the abyss, turning you to face him. “Stop screaming like that.”
“No, leave me alone! I’m not going to die here with you!”
“Y/N, stop!” he called, holding you struggling form tighter. You eased into him when he raised his voice. “That’s not going to help. You’re just going to wear yourself out faster that way.”
“But-”
“If you continue to scream, you will just make yourself tired and thirsty. And the last thing we need is for you to be dehydrated. You will die faster if that’s the case.” You swallowed thickly, tears brimming in the corners of your eyes. “We need to focus on finding food, water and shelter. Then we can figure out how to get home. We need to make sure we are safe first.”
“But, how?” you sniffled, fear finally kicking in. “I can barely fish.”
“Don’t worry about it. I will handle it,” he whispered, pushing your wet hair back. He grimaced when he felt grains of sand interlaced in your strands, but kept a smile on his face. “Just make sure to keep up, alright smallfry?”
You huffed when he turned away, moving to gather some of the supplies that survived. “I’m not a smallfry, you tree!” you called out to him, chasing after the man.
You managed to gather some emergency supplies that had been luckily sealed to keep from getting wet, giving you a blanket, flint for a fire, and a small knife. It wasn’t much, but it was all Thomas needed before he ventured into the jungle. Though, it wasn’t before you had convinced him to let you spell out an SOS in the sand with rather heavy rocks you found along the coast.
Trekking through the dense jungle, soaked from head to toe in salt water, the humidity piercing the air until your skin stuck more than before, and exhaustion beginning to set into your limbs, was the last thing you had thought would happen when you awoke that morning. Let alone you were with Thomas of all people.
On one hand, if you were going to be stuck with anyone, Thomas was a prime candidate. He had survived the Maze and the Scorch, he was fit and able to hunt for food if needed, and he'd carry you with ease if you suddenly fell flat on your face after tripping over the many tree roots that seemed to wrap themselves around your ankles, tugging at your despair.  On the other hand, it was Thomas. The traitor, the ex-WICKED member, the know it all.
You frowned at the thought, glancing up to stare at the back of his head, watching the brown tuft of hair flowing in the breeze that skated by. His shirt stuck to his form with sea water and sweat, his arms effortlessly flexing whenever he pushed aside branches, leaves and bushes. Your mind raced back to the discussion on the boat and Thomas’ plea for forgiveness echoing in your ears. Our stomach clenched with the familiar sense of guilt you had before the tsunami-like wave capsized your tiny haven.
Maybe you had judged him too quickly after all. He was making advances to move on and seek retribution for everything. You were stuck in the past, unwilling to forgive what happened to friends back then.
Maybe it was time to start moving on...
Though, that thought didn’t change that you were stuck alone on this uninhabited island with him. Alone with a fairly attractive man...
Shaking your head quickly to rid yourself of the indecent thoughts, your cheeks flaring up, you hustled forward to join his side. The silence between you was unnerving, the only sound around being your rapid heartbeat that seemed to speed up when you sideways glanced at his face. Unconsciously, you found yourself counting the moles that starred his jawline.
No, stop. What are you doing?
“So, uh,” you cleared your throat speaking up, trying to distract yourself from the plague that kept entering your mind. “What is the plan?”
“We should find water and shelter,” he voiced, cut off by the loud growl of your stomach. Your cheeks lit up, not only due to the embarrassment caused by the protests of hunger your body let out, but also the flips your stomach did at the sound of his deep, but melodic laughter. His dark eyes darted to you, a goofy, lopsided grin inching his cheeks upright. “And food too, I guess. We need fresh water and shelter first and foremost though.”
“And how exactly are we supposed to find that?” you questioned, jumping over a rock and nearly faceplanting. Thomas caught you swiftly, adding more heat to your already warm face. Uttering a low thank you, you continued after him, afraid to speak more.
“Well, I guess we should try to listen for some water. If we can find a stream or river, we can probably follow it for a bit.”
“You mean like that?”
You spied a small stream beyond a set of trees, Thomas’ face lighting up at the sight. “Exactly! Let’s go!”
You laughed at his excitement, though you missed the soft smile Thomas gave hearing you laugh the way you did. He rushed towards the stream of water with you hot on his heel, following the water flowing down the island. A more comfortable silence fell between you this time, making your way through the jungle together.
“Eureka!” Thomas finally exclaimed, dashing away from you.
“H-hey! Don’t just leave me alone you asshole! Or I will never forgive you!”
“Story of my life,” was his snarky reply, but the joking words made your heart clench while wincing to yourself. He wasn’t wrong, but it stung to hear it so bluntly. “Now, hurry up and get over here!”
A silent sigh left your lips before rushing after him, stumbling to a stop at his side in awe. A small lake was at the end of the stream you were following, the water sparkling with the sun's rays glaring down at it. A small waterfall stood in the distance, white foam coating the base, rippling waves making the water glisten and shimmer. You stared in awe at the sight, gawking at the beauty.
“Yahoo!” Thomas screamed before diving straight into the water, belongings dropped carelessly to the ground, making you gasp in shock. Dots of cold water sprinkled along your face, causing you to shrink back in surprise and yelp loudly.
“Thomas!” You screamed at him when he resurfaced, kicking his legs to stay afloat. The man pushed back his dark tresses of hair, wiping the water away from his face. He didn’t care that he was fully clothed, fabric clinging to his muscled form. He was content laying back in the water, eyes glued to the blue sky.
“This is nice.”
“You’re an asshole,” you scowled.
His heavenly laugh resounded through the air, your stomach knotting at the noise. Your eyes followed the man as he flipped in the water, diving into the water again before swimming to the other edge near the waterfall. A tired heave escaped as you sat in the nearby grass, sliding off your wet shoes and socks and slipping your aching, waterlogged feet into the lake. The cool water felt refreshing, a sense of calm hitting you almost instantly. You leaned back on your hands, allowing yourself to unwind for the first time since you awoke on the sandy beach.
“Hey!” Thomas called, making you crack an eye in his direction. He was waving at you from afar, standing at the edge of the waterfall. He pointed towards the falling rapids, calling out, “There is a small cave back here! I think we can use this as shelter!”
“Are you sure?” You hollered back. Thomas nodded, diving into the water and swimming towards you. When he arrived, he stayed in the water, resting on the edge of the lake on his arms.
“Yeah. It’s small, but I think it'll do. It’s dry enough for us to have a fire but it’ll keep any animals out.”
“If I die tonight because you are wrong and some animal mauls me while I sleep, I am coming back to haunt you.”
Thomas grinned, lifting himself out of the water to grab the gear he dropped. The water made his pants sag, exposing the elastic of the dark boxers he had on. You blushed and turned away, listening to him rummage around in the waterproof bag of emergency goods.
“I’m going to try and gather some food from the trees. Do you think you can gather some wood for a fire? We can use the bag and tarp that was inside to keep it dry when we head in,” he suggested, tossing both in your direction.
“I guess. But let me rest for a bit longer please,” you hummed, turning to look at him. Thomas nodded at your words, pocketing a knife set. Turning was a bad decision - Thomas at that moment was stripping off his wet shirt, giving you full display of his toned upper torso, complete with check hair and happy trail dipping into his waistband. His broad shoulders and arms flexed as he stretched, folding the shirt and placing it down with the spare belongings in the bag. His long legs carried him towards some trees with mysterious fruit hiding in the tops, your eyes tracing the back muscles you didn’t know you needed until now.
The man proceeded to climb the tree carefully, trying not to slip too much from his wet pants. Watching him pull himself up, arms bulging and veins prominent along his skin even from a distance, made your body heat up, legs rubbing together slightly. The attractive man left your mind reeling. A shaky breath left your lips, your head turning away quickly.
What the fuck? You thought to yourself, staring at your reflection. Since when did I think of Thomas as attractive?
The soft thunk of fruits being cut down from the tree made your ears ring, eyes darting to stare at the man in the tree before returning to the water. You saw how red your face was.
I thought I hated him. I thought I despised him. But ever since he said he’s been trying to apologize for what happened, I can’t help but think… You groaned, ruffling your knotted hair. Have I just always found him attractive but chose to ignore it because I was irrationally angry at him?
“Aw fuck,” you heard Thomas groan when he fell on his ass while descend the tree. The man stood from the ground, rubbing his sore buttox before moving to the next tree, repeating his attempts to gather food. You giggled to yourself, tucking some loose hair away.
“Maybe I have been too harsh on him,” you sighed to yourself, feeling your heartbeat picking up. “Maybe it’s time to move on and forgive him.That fucking attractive asshole.”
“Hey, don’t get too comfortable! Help a brotha out!” he joking called before jumping onto another tree ungracefully, shimmying up the trunk slowly.
“I know, asshole!”
Hesitantly, you pulled yourself from the ground, grumbling lowly at yourself as you dragged the supplies to the small cave before heading off to find sticks. The entire time you gathered the broken twigs and branches that littered across the ground, your eyes kept lingering on the broad, muscular form in the distance. Setting your eyes on his form made your heart race, face heating up from something other than the setting sun in the distance. You ached, but not from the strenuous task of obtaining firewood for warmth that night. As you crouched for wood, your legs rubbed together to relieve the throbbing sensation that racked your lower body. Your mind was plagued with him - how you never noticed his beautiful or funny personality through your initial judgment. Deep down, you knew he was hot… but it didn’t strike until now just how much you really liked him.
And being stuck with him, seeing how much he cared, only deepened the feeling. Rapidly, at that. You were smitten in a matter of hours, putting aside your hatred to see the real side of the man.
When you walked into the cave, it was silent. Thomas said nothing, busy setting up the blanket so you had a somewhat comfortable place to rest until help, hopefully, arrived. You pouted, a sudden overwhelming sense of doubt hitting you. Though he never showed it, insecurity struck, suggesting to you that he was actually uncomfortable with the situation - that he actually was upset that you had resented him for so long. Despite his attempted apology in the smash boat, he really was unhappy that you wouldn’t accept him.
And here you were, pining over the man suddenly as a new light was making his presence glow in the darkness, giving you some hope, security and a very flushed face at the simplest thoughts. How the tables turned in your mind.
The sun was nearly gone, giving the sky a faint, blue glow, the remnants of pinks and oranges fading into black. Thomas quietly started a fire, the crackling embers flaring up after a few harsh breaths from the man to fan the flames. Both of you settled onto the blanket, nibbling on the fruits he had gathered. A decent gap was between you, your butt at the edge of the blanket just like his.
Listening to the crackle of the fire made your mind race with uneasy thoughts. Occasionally, as you bit into the mysterious, but sweet food, you would glance at the man beside you, finding his eyes glued to the fire before you. Eyes traced his side profile, heating up as you admired his sharp jawline speckled in freckles and moles, bits of scruff forming on his chin.
He hadn’t shaved recently.
Your stomach fluttered, knotting tightly with delight and discomfort. He was handsome, something you would have never admitted before today, but the cold shoulder was killing you. Your mouth was dry, tongue darting out in an attempt to relieve the crackling feeling with no result. Your heart pounded against your chest before turning away, tugging your lip between your teeth to nibble at unconsciously.
Now that you were ready to forgive him, this new feeling was taking over. You really liked him, and you wanted to get to know him more. You were tired of judging him for what happened. You had the wrong perception of him. But, you had to make things right.
“Thomas,” you croaked. The man turned his head; you could feel his chocolate colored eyes on the side of your head, trying to pierce you. The words didn’t want to come out when you opened your mouth, unsure what you wanted to say or ask. You finally managed after a handful of attempts to utter one line: “Do you hate me?”
“What?” he asked, more to himself than to you. When you glanced at him, he was shocked, gawking in your direction. The leg he had tucked into him as he ate was extended, body turned to face you better.
“I just,” you started, twiddling your fingers together. “I’ve been so hard on you since we got to the safe haven. I hated you because of what happened with the Right Arm. But I never gave you a chance to make amends for that. I know you didn’t deserve the treatment I gave you, but I did it anyway, believing that you were this cocky know-it-all for being the savior that took down WICKED. And, I’m sorry for that.
“I shouldn't have judged you so prematurely. I shouldn’t have shunned you or pushed you away when all you wanted was to be friends, to make up for what happened because I get it; you feel guilty for what happened. You blame yourself when you shouldn’t. It wasn’t even your fault when you think about it. And now… we’re stuck here and I just… I keep feeling like because of how poorly I’ve treated you that you hate me now. I’ve done you wrong and you have no reason to treat me kindly. Sure, survival is one thing but… I’m sure you hate me.”
“I could never,” he voiced without a thought, startling you.
Staring up at him, you whispered, “What?”
“I could never hate you,” he hummed, returning to hugging a knee to his chest. “Quite the opposite really.”
“I’m not following.”
Thomas chuckled, continuing, “You were the one I wanted to apologize to the most because of how much I liked you. I’ve…” he paused, taking a deep breath. “I’ve had a massive crush on you for the longest time. You’re the smartest, strongest and most beautiful woman in the safe haven to me. I couldn’t but to develop a small… well, a massive crush on you. And I wanted to ask you to give me a chance, but you would always walk away when I got the courage to talk to you. I knew I had hurt you but I wanted to try. So, yeah. I could never hate you.”
It was your turn to gawk at him. Your cheeks burned, staring at the handsome man in shock. Your mouth opened and closed, unable to say anything for the longest time. And when you finally managed to say anything, you only could say, “I’m going to take a bath!”
Thomas laughed when he watched you rush out, jumping into the shallow water just outside the cave fully clothed. Collapsing onto a rock, water coming up to your waist, you huffed, burrowing your face in your palms.
“God, I’m stupid. He fucking likes me too. He has a crush on me. And here I’m starting to crush on him. What did I fucking run?!”
Sighing, you peeled the wet shirt over your head, struggling to strip yourself of your pants. Since you were already in the water, you figured you should at least wash up the best you could, choosing to scrub your tattered clothes a bit to rid them of dirt and grime. The wet clothes, after you were done, we placed aside, allowing you to sink further into the water. A content breath left your lips, looking up at the stars that made the sky glow.
“So, you like me too?”
You jumped, turning around with arms crossed over your chest to hide your almost bare chest. The cocky male sat at the base of the cave, still shirtless from his earlier excursion.
“Can you not?!” you screamed, splashing water in his direction.
“Sorry, sorry,” he teased. “I initially came to check on you after you ran off, and you’ve been out here for a bit. Wanted to make sure something didn’t eat you.”
“I appreciate the concern, but can you not stare at my chest?” you grumbled, noticing his stare at the water, right where your hands were. “And what gave you the impression that I like you too?”
“You know I could hear you, right?” You blushed, sinking further into the water. “Listen, I’m glad you are starting to like me too. But I will leave you be. I will let you tell me when you’re ready. I’m honestly just... “ He stopped for a second. “I’m just glad you don’t hate me anymore.”
“I don’t think I ever really hated you,” you admitted to him. “I was just blind to how much I really did like you. I never took the time to notice how handsome, smart and funny you are. I lied to myself that I didn’t like you when I’m pretty sure I liked you a hell of a lot.”
“You know, being stranded on this island sucks,” he hummed playfully. “But, I’m glad I’m here with you. It really is something special.”
“Thomas.”
“I will leave you be to clean up. I shouldn’t bother you. But please give me a holler if you need me or something happens.”
He stood to leave, turning his back to retreat into your small dominion for the night. He didn’t hear the water splash as you rushed to the edge of the water, not caring to shield yourself as you called out to him again.
“Thomas!”
Slowly, he turned back to you, a red hot blush clearly appearing on his skin despite the darkness. “Yes?”
You were silent for a second before speaking up, “do you want to take a bath with me? You know, clean up and maybe wash your clothes?”
He chuckled, contemplating for a moment before letting his feelings cave over his rational thoughts. He turned around briskly, rushing to join you in the water. His jump into the shallow water, albeit not a big one, was enough to make the water splash against you, Thomas earning a squeal of surprise. He grinned, falling back into the water so he could float among the small waves so he could pull his pants off.
You blushed, moving to sink into further water, deep enough to hide yourself but to not have to tread water. You avoid his eyes, keeping your eyes on the rippling waves, listening to the patter of the waterfall behind you.
It wasn’t until you heard the wet slap of his pants on rock and felt his warm presence against your back at you became hyper aware of him standing right behind you. You could feel his hot breath fan against your neck as he pushed your wet locks aside, draping them over one shoulder.
“Is this fine?” he asked quietly. “I don’t want to go fast. I don’t want to scare you away, but I can’t keep myself away. I should have just walked away, but I can’t when you’re so close. You said you like me too and I’ve wanted this for so long. So please, if you don’t want this, tell me now.”
“Tommy,” you breathed. The name made his breath hitch - something you caught instantly. His body stiffened against yours, his breathing picking up. Your heart was beating just as fast as his was, though you couldn’t pick up on the rapid pounding in his chest.
“Please. If I’ve gone too far, tell me. Because if you don’t stop me, I don’t know what I will do. I’m a hormonal guy, Y/N. And I’m stranded on an island alone with the most beautiful girl int eh world. The girl I’ve admired for too long. I don’t want to hurt-”
You turned quickly, cupping his cheeks in your hands and pulling him into a rough, sloppy kiss to silence him. The man’s muffled grunts were lost to your lips, his body instantly reacting to yours. He pushed closer to you, his erection obvious against your leg. His hands wrapped around your waist, hugging you to his muscled chest, wet pecs flexing anxiously with the jump in his heartbeat. Your fingers curled against his cheeks before pulling away, grinning cheekily.
“You talk to much. Maybe I should have just continued hating you.”
“Nope. This is better.”
His lips crashed back onto yours after his hasty response, tilting his head to give him as much room as possible to engulf your lips with his. Your hands eagerly slid up to his wet chocolate tresses, tangling in them to scrape at his scalp. His hands ran along your waist until he found your ass, lifting you up against him so your legs could wrap around his midsection. Things escalated quickly, heat building with the sensual kiss.
And you weren’t arguing right now.
He backed you into the shallowest part of the water, placing you down to focus on the heated kiss. His tongue darted along your plump lips until they parted, automatically shoving past them to enter your wet cavern. Tongues battled for dominance, something you easily lost. His tongue ran along your mouth, tracing every inch of it before pulling away for air, a short string of saliva still connecting your lips.
Your chests rose and fell quickly for air before instantly delving in for more open mouth kisses. Lips dragged against each other, wet smacks mixing with the rushing water beside you. Noses bumped whenever your heads turned to get a better position, teeth clashing with every heated crash. His lips dragged along yours, sucking them teasingly before devouring them again and again.
Your hands slid down from his hair, landing on his broad shoulder first before running down his chest. Your fingers skimming along his skin made him shiver, pecs jumping under your sultry touch. His arms flexed, more veins emerging from his skin as he got excited. When your thumbs brushed against his nipples, he shuddered, breaking the kiss to let out a gasping moan.
“Don’t do that,” he rasped, a glint in the glare he sent you.
“Oh. Are your nipples sensitive, Tommy?” you cooed, smirking up at the man. A deeper groan left his lips, his face burrowing in your neck. Tiny nips and kisses were left on your skin, Thomas earning himself a moan.
“I hate that you started using that name so quickly,” he uttered deeply. “It’s making it really hard to control myself.”
“Who said you needed to control yourself?” you spoke without warning. Thomas groaned once more, hands fussing with the bra strap against your back.
The article was nearly ripped from your skin and tossed aside, lost to the lake as it drifted away in the water. His eyes were dark, near animalistic, like he was staring at his prey right before he pounced. You weren’t telling him no; you were encouraging the hungry tiger inside. He intended to take advantage of that, even if his mind told him not to. His body spoke louder. His hunger made him salivate, taking in the sight of your bare torso before lunging.
His head dipped down, latching onto your breast instantly. Your head fell back, unleashing a loud moan at the pleasure. His mouth wrapped around your hard bud, tongue flicking at it happily. His large, veiny hand grasped the other one, fondling it fiercely, between his long fingers. Even if you told yourself you didn’t want this, your body screamed that you did. Even if you told yourself you didn’t want to be stuck with Thomas, you were glad it was him. Even if you told yourself you didn’t like him, you knew for a fact you did.
What he was doing felt phenomenal, and you wouldn’t change that for the world right then and there.
Thomas pulled away with a pop, sucking red marks along the skin of your mounds before resuming his licking barrage on the nipple, grunting against it happily. More moans left your lips, fingers tangling in his hair to keep yourself together, giving you something to tug at while you were pleasured. Your legs rubbed together, feeling heat pooling between them the more he attacked your chest, suckling at your nipple repeatedly. When he finally switched breasts, you lost control, nearly shouting his name into the night sky.
“Oh, fuck, Thomas!” you mewled, pressing his face further into your chest. “That feels so good.”
“Shit,” he choked, prying himself from your grasp to move up to your level. His body sliding against yours allowed you to feel the obvious bulge in his boxers, your core twitching as a result. “If you keep that up, I’m going to have to fuck you senseless. You have no idea how hot that is and how fucking horny I am right now.”
“Then do it,” you let out. “Fucking fuck me already.”
“God damn.”
He didn’t ask twice. He was stripping you of your only remaining garment, tossing them with his own onto the rocks behind you. Your stare turned south to catch a glimpse of his shaft, gawking at the size. “Holy shit,” you gasped. “Is that what I was missing by hating your guts?”
His was long and hard, his hand wrapped around the girthy base to stroke it casually. The tip was swollen and red, beads of precum coming out the tip when he tugged at himself. He was much larger than any other guy you had seen - the few one night stands you managed to have were nothing compared to this. You were silently thanking the world for what had happened, giving you a chance to make things right with Thomas and to get fucked senseless by a god. You were thankful for the realization of your feelings because right now, your pussy was pleading to be filled.
“Should have talked to me sooner. We could have been fucking for a while now,” he teased. “Of course, I wanted you for more than a good lay, but I’m sure I can please you when you need it.”
“Oh? Low blow, cowboy. Sure you can stick to those guns?”
“Why don’t we find out?”
The tip ran along your folds a few times before he pushed in quickly, bottoming out in seconds. A loud, prolonged moan left your mouth, the noise drawn out and making your throat vibrate. Thomas grunted at the feeling of your tight cunt around him, your walls grasping at his hard cock eagerly. His eyes closed, trying to not cum instantly. You were wet and warm, clinging to him intermittently, hugging him tightly. The subtlest shift made you clench, another loud noise filling the air.
Before he started to move, he lifted you up, wrapping your legs around his waist and your arms around his neck. He gave you a chaste kiss before groaning, shifting you against him. “If it gets to be too much, stop me.”
“Alright.”
It started slow, your body bouncing against his. His hands sat on your backside, using your ass as leverage to guide your body against his. His long shaft slid in and out of you slowly, rubbing against your walls and poking at the sensitive spots. Whenever he was nearly freed, you were brought back down onto him, fully sheathing him inside your warmth.
The speed picked up gradually until you were being slammed onto his thick cock repeatedly, enhancing the pleasure you were feeling. Your moans grew in volume, filling the night air around you. The water splashed against your sides with every diligent thrust into your tight core, aiding Thomas’ thick cock in sliding in and out of you. Nails clawed at his skin, diggin crescent-shaped moons into his shoulders while being bounced, keeping you steady and upright.
Thomas groaned loudly, the sound of your seductive moans in his ears making him harder than he thought was possible. His chocolate pupils, darkened by lust, traveled south, traveling the features of your face the entire time. Your lips were rosy from the intense kisses you shared, your bright orbs were half-lidded with ecstasy, your cheeks were flushed under the moon that was rearing it face over the trees slowly. When his eyes befell your chest, watching your breasts bounce up and down against his moist chest, the former runner was floored. He had never seen something so wonderful - so attractive. His stomach tightened, hips thrusting faster into you, unleashing a more animalistic nature that had you screaming.
“Oh, god!” you let out, throwing your head back. Your entire body shook, your knotting stomach flipping a million times a second. Thomas grunted out at your echoed speech, leaning forward to latch onto your breast, after a bit of trouble to keep a steady pace and attack the mound as it jostled aimlessly. One hand found its way to his wet locks, tugging at them harshly. The suckling to your peaked buds made your eyes flash white, the shaking increasing significantly as your high hit. “Oh fuck, Thomas!”
With your walls clenching, your warm cunt hugging him tightly and his cock growing slick with your arousal, his head began to spin. Maybe it was the lack of air; he wasn’t breathing while he bucked into you, nibbling at your breast with all of his might. His thrusts grew sloppy, fighting to control himself while you had your orgasm. When he finally felt your body going limp, he moved forward, resting you on a shallow rock and pulling himself free.
You blinked your eyes opened, glancing at the dark haired man that no longer occupied your used core. Your pussy throbbed, trying to clench around nothing but air, screaming at its sudden emptiness. Thomas’ eyes were glued on you - all of you - taking in your fucked-out expression, round breasts that were littered with red love marks, and your chest heaving with uneven breaths. His large hand, covered in veins, wrapped around his cock, stroking himself quickly and harshly, pulling the skin of his length over the tip slightly. The man hunched forward slightly, refusing to give in until he was grunting loudly, utter a few curses before releasing himself onto your form.
Thick ropes of his hot seed shot from the tip, dotting up your stomach to your chest, covering your breasts in his white, steamy essence. Bits of water washed the droplets away when it splashed across your body, but he licked his lips at the sight of you covered in his cum, looking hot with the white strings as your form. His unruly noises got louder when you ran your fingers along the few drops that remained, particularly on your breasts, rubbing the thick substance around your taut buds slowly.
“Shit,” he huffed, kneeling on the rock beside you. His lips connected to yours in a searing kiss, your lips instantly parting to allow his tongue to invade your cheeks. Your tongues tangled together messily, noisy open-mouth kisses smacking against each other in haste. Thomas’ hand slithered between your legs, shamelessly shoving two fingers into your sensitive core. The moan that he ripped from your was lost to his throat. His fingers shoved into your pussy quickly, making you writhe under him.
The kiss broke, allowing your shaking words to escape. “Don’t go so rough.”
“Are you a bit sensitive after you took me?” he asked cheekily, making you laugh slightly.
“I guess you could say that. I think I’m a little overstimulated. I haven’t had sex in a while.”
Thomas blinked, hand stilling. “You’re had sex before?”
Your eyes met, confusion in your eyes. “I mean, of course. I tried dating a guy once after we came to the safe haven, but he was only good for a single lay to relieve some stress from everything,” you revealed. With a giggle, you continued, “Don’t tell me you haven’t had some action since we got here.”
“Oh. I-I mean.. Well, yeah. Who hasn’t?” You didn’t seem convinced, earning a deep sigh from Thomas. His fingers removed themselves from your core, the man sitting on the rock beside you. You sat up yourself, hugging your chest slightly. “I guess if you count the one night stand I had after getting really drunk on Gally’s drink.”
“No way. With who?”
Thomas chuckled at your enthusiasm. “I can’t really remember. She was gone before I woke up in the chicken coop. I think her name was Mandy because after that night, she never talked to me again.”
Your laughter grew louder, leaning on the frowning male. “That’s fucking great.”
“Laugh it up, bitch.”
“I will,” you teased. “But, how come you never tried for more?”
“I mean,” he sighed, looking down at you. “I had my eyes on someone I really liked. But, she didn’t like me back. Wouldn’t talk to me, wouldn’t look at me. She hated my guts.”
“Well,” you sighed, looking up at him with a joking smile, “she’s lost out. You should forget about her.”
Thomas laughed, leaning down to kiss you softly. His hand, wet and dripping with water, moved up to caress your cheek as his lips dragged against yours slowly. “I think I already am because I have someone amazing with me now.”
Together you sat under the moonlight in the water for a while, cuddling until you felt your feet wrinkling and your body shiver from the cold that was setting in. Thomas exited the water first, lending a hand to help you out afterwards. Gathering your discarded clothes, you hobbled back into the warmth of the cave. While you laid out the clothes to dry, Thomas added more wood to the dying fire, letting it flare back up before you both snuggled together on the blanket, seeking warmth with each other.
You faced him, staring up at his sharp features, fingers dancing along his muscled arms and speckled cheeks. His biceps flexed under your touch, cheeks curling upwards with a smile at the gentle skim of your touch. His own arm was draped over your waist, drawing imaginary shapes to the small of your back. You had never been so comfortable or content in your life, having spent so long running from Cranks or escaping from WICKED in hopes of finding a safe place to live in peace, praying to harmony in your unpredictable life. You frowned at the thought; you had misses so much because of your judgments.
“I’m still sorry,” you whispered lowly. Thomas hummed, waiting for you to continue. “I’m sorry for everything, Tommy. For shunning you, judging you, mistreating you. You didn’t deserve it.”
“It’s fine, babe,” he mused, kissing your forehead. “I get it. You don’t need to beat yourself up about it.”
“But-”
“No buts,” he laughed. His eyes met yours, giving you a soft smile before leaning in and kissing you on your lips softly. “We just need to move on from here.”
“I guess so.”
“Just give me a chance to show you that I’m a good guy,” he teased, making you laugh.
“Yeah, if we ever get off this island,” you said. “But, being stranded with you isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.”
“Are you saying that shipwrecking with me here was going to suck?” he gasped.
“Tommy, I didn’t even want to fish with your ass!”
“But I have a fine ass.”
“Yeah, I know,” you teased, daring to roll onto him, straddling his waist with ease. Your lips connected in a fiery kiss, earning a deep grunt from the former runner. “I watched you climb a tree today. You have a nice behind.”
“So do you,” he rasped lowly, cupping your backside tightly in his palms. The action made you mewl, grinding your hips against his sharply. Your lips connected once more, letting your tongues tease each other. Thomas’ cock was growing hard under you, sliding between your moist pussy lips. The man murmured against your lips after breaking your kiss, “I’m getting horny again.”
“I can’t say I disagree,” you uttered, grinding on him harder, two moans filling your small hideaway. His cock was twitching against your wet core, the hands that remained on your ass helping you rock against him faster. “Fuck, I just want you inside me again.”
“If we do, I can’t promise I will last long… or pull out in time to not cum inside you.”
“That’s fine,” you let out.
Thomas grinned seductively, teeth twinkling mischievously. “You know, if that happens, there will be a chance you could get pregnant.”
“I know, but I trust you.”
The words made his heart jump slightly. “So, are you saying that you want me to fill you with my cum? You want me to fuck you silly and maybe put a baby inside you?”
“I mean, I will take the fucking me silly, but if a baby comes with it, you’re helping to raise it.”
“Deal,” he gasped.
Within much thought, he was aligning with your core, sliding into you. You moaned at the feeling of him filling you up once more, your pussy full with his giant cock. The tip of his cock brushed against your g-spot, as well as new spots he hadn’t hit before. The new position came with a new angle, and the new angle let him reach deeper inside you. He stayed still for a moment before guiding you along his length, rocking you back and forth along his shaft.
You laid against his as you moved along his cock, breasts pressed against his chest. Your lips danced together occasionally, dragging against each other slowly before parting to let our low moans. The subtle smack from the kisses made your heart race and core clench, squeezing around him tightly. They were such loving kisses, but they made your walls tight and wet.
Pushing up on his chest, separating from the multitude of kisses you shared, you picked up speed, riding him quickly. His cock slid in and out of you quickly, your body rising up and slamming back onto him before he could escape your grasp. Your speed gradually built until you were slapping your hips together loudly, sweaty skin sticking together and pulling apart with slick noises.
Thomas licked his lips, eying your bouncing breasts for a bit before turning to watch his cock slip in and out of you. He was familiar with your breasts moving when he was inside you, but he thoroughly enjoyed the way his cock would emerge covered in your sweet arousal, making his length glisten in the firelight, before it disappeared back inside your tight cunt, throbbing with the need to explode. He wanted to fill you up, spilling every last ounce he had into your hole. He wanted to watch the white seed drip from your lips, oozing out because you were so full of him.
The desire to do so was overwhelming, so much that the man lifted you off of him with a short whine, and flipped you over onto your hands and knees. He found himself ramming back into you from behind, hearing a short scream rip from your throat when he wasted no time in slamming himself into you. He bucked wildly, his speed nearly godly, thrusting himself deep into you. His new speed and position made you scream his name loudly, clawing at the bunched up blankets under you. Your body shifted with every thrust, only kept steady from a firm hand he kept on your hip. The other hand planted firmly to your backside, a reddening handprint pressed into your skin.
“You feel so good, baby,” he growled, pushing harder. His hips snapped into your ass, balls slapping against your folds. The sounds of slapping skin mixed with the uncontrollable noises that left your mouth in panted breaths, making Thomas grin widely. “You like this, Y/N? You like when I fill you up with my giant fucking cock?”
“Tommy-”
“You love when I fuck you into the ground like this? You just can’t get enough, can you?”
“No,” you managed to utter. “I need more.”
“What was that?” he asked, the hand that had been slapping at your ass occasionally sliding up your back to your neck. He gave it a firm squeeze, hearing a choked breath leave. He didn’t want to hurt you, but you made no effort to remove it, so he figured you were fine. Maybe, you were even enjoying the restriction. “Speak up, baby. I can’t hear you.”
“Fuck, Thomas. Fill me up already! Please!”
“God, you just love being filled up. Such a dirty girl, wanting to be filled up with my cum. You want all of my cum inside you? You want me to fill you up with all of my cum?”
“Yes!” You hollered weakly. Dots were blinking in your vision, your body tightening with your inevitable release. “Please fill me up Tommy. I want to cum with you. I love the feeling of your cock so much, but i want to feel you inside me.”
“Fuck, thats hot,” he muttered, shoving into you faster than before. He pushed up onto his feet, releasing your neck so he could steady you against him. His entire body was used to push into you, every part of his body leveraged to excite you over the top. He wanted to make your next orgasm one to remember. He wanted to have you releasing on his cock more than you thought was possible. He wanted to explode every drop into you. “Cum with me, Y/N. Please baby, cum all over my fucking cock.”
You moaned in response, body nearly going limp from your orgasm. Your stomach hurt from trying to hold back, so you didn’t keep it in. The knot was burned away, and you were spilling everything you had onto his length, making it slick enough to still slide in and out of you as he thrust sloppily. Your walls were clinging to him desperately, convulsing with every droplet you released that stuck to his length.
Your tight, wet cunt made Thomas’ head spin like before, his own high nearly. Your core was hugging him close, squeezing him lifeless. The warmth was making him throb and twitch, finally exploding his load into you with one loud grunting groan. His thick seed shot from the tip, painting along your inner walls like white paint. The former runner let out a prolonged mewl of approval, thrusts slowing, letting your walls milk him of every last bit he had built up.
Your bodies finally collapsed from exhaustion, Thomas remaining inside you until he had softened to a tiny chub. His fascination led him to watch his arousal slip from your pussy lips, the man licking his lips slowly.
“That’s something to remember…” he whispered to himself before moving to kiss your shoulder blades. “We should get some rest. Then tomorrow, we can try to find a way off this island and back home.”
He didn’t receive a response.
“Y/N?”
He turned you over, finding you sound asleep, chest rising and falling steadily. You had a gentle smile ebbed onto your lips, resting peacefully. The man chuckled, pushing back some of the hair that stuck to your sweaty forward, placing a sweet, loving kiss to your temple. Laying beside you, he curled you into his chest, struggling to pull the blanket over you to keep you warm in case the fire died out while you slept. His head rested on his sore arm, but he didn’t mind the pain; his comfort came from you beside him, in his arms - finally.
“Sleep well. And thank you for giving me a chance. I didn’t think getting stranded would be such a good thing...”
~
His eyes fluttered open, finding a small stream of sunlight filling the cave. It took a moment to process his surroundings. The fire had died, he was in a cave, and you were nuzzled into his side, bare naked and sound asleep. Thomas thought he was dreaming before recalling the wave and the boat crash, finding you stranded on an unknown island without a way home. He also remember the heated evening of confessions, apologies and sex that blew his mind.
Not in any rush to move, he pulled you into him, nestling his face in the rats nest atop your head. He could feel your lips curling up against his skin at this, the man chuckling. “Good morning,” he let out, voice raspy and deep with sleep.
“Good morning,” you muttered lowly. “Can we not move for a while? I hurt.”
“I’d figure,” he laughed. “I fucked you a lot last night.”
“And honestly?” you hummed. “I regret nothing.”
“That’s relieving actually. I’m glad I won’t have to be punched later to forcing you to have sex with me.”
“Never,” you laughed, struggling to look up at him. Thomas glanced down at your sleepy face, placing a soft peck to your lips.
“So, you are going to give me a chance later right? Like, when we can finally get home?”
“I thought I made that clear when I apologized for how I’ve been treating you,” you scowled playfully, punching his chest weakly. “And you kind of fucked me a lot. You’re not leaving me dry for a while.”
“I can handle that,” he smirked, pulling you into a deeper kiss.
The steamy kiss would ahve led to a heated round of unruly morning sex if your ears hadn’t perked at the sounds outside the cave. You pulled away from a disappointed Thomas, sitting up abruptly.
“Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?” he asked.
Listening carefully, you heard the faint call.
“-Mas!”
“-/N!”
“Someone is calling our names?” you asked, glancing at the man who shrugged.
“Did someone manage to find us?” he thought aloud.
“Thomas!”
“Y/N!”
“Oh my god,” Thomas gasped, jumping to his feet and rushing to the cave entrance. “That’s Minho!”
“What?!” You exclaimed back, running after the man.
In your excitement, you both ran from the cave in search of the voices calling your names. Thomas’ hand clasped around yours to keep from getting separated, keeping you from falling over any trees or rocks. The voices grew louder as you rushed through the sea of green trees, pushing through bushes and in the mud.
In the distance, you locked eyes with the boy calling your name - Thomas friend from the maze and the former leader of the runners. Minho’s eyes grew when he saw you both run from the bushed, calling his name. You halted in the middle of a small clearing, panting for breath.
“Thomas, Y/N,” Minho uttered softly before his eyebrows scrunched up. “Why are you guys naked?”
“Eh?” you let out, looking down at yourself. Realizing what had happened, you shrieked loudly, hugging yourself. Thomas turned to hug you, glaring back at Minho.
“Look away!”
“Sorry, sorry!” Minho called, turning around. “I don’t want to stare at your bare ass anyway!”
“Fuck you,” Thomas growled. “How did you find us anyway?”
“We’ve been searching all night. When you didn’t come back, we pulled out the small motorboat to search for you. Someone mentioned the waves had picked up, so we thought something might have happened. We found the boat wrecked on the island-”
“Wait,” you called, stopping him. “There was a motorboat?”
“Yeah,” Minho said. “It’s always in the boat we used to get here. It’s not used very often to conserve fuel and all, but it’s pretty decently sized and everything.”
“We had a motorboat, and you set us out to go fishing on a wooden rowboat?!”
Minho blinked “Ummmm…”
“I’m going to kill you, Minho!”
The former runner took off with you hot on his tail, uncaring that you were still barren to the world. Thomas sighed as he watched you chase the man around the clearing, weaving through trees before tackling the man to the ground, scarring him as you beat him up.
“I guess I should be thankful,” Thomas told himself. “Otherwise, we wouldn’t have ended up stranded here and had the night we did.”
“Thomas, help! Get her off me!”
“Can’t help, sorry,” Thomas called, turning away. “I need to go get our stuff from the cave. Plus, she hates me, remember?”
“Bullshit!”
“Take it easy on him, babe. He’s our way home!” Thomas teased, walking away.
“He dies tonight! I’m roasting Minho alive!”
“Good talk!”
“Thomas, don’t leave me with this monster! Something obviously happened and you can’t leave me like this!” Minho called, but Thomas was gone. “THOMAS!”

Pairing: Atsumu Miya x gymnastics fem!reader
Genre: angst, fluff
AN: Happy birthday Atsumu!
Tumblr media
“Oi, ‘Tsumu, you got a visitor!” Ginjima hollered, smirking at the entrance.
“Damn it Gin!” You whined, crossing your arms. “I was tryna’ scare him!”
“Can’t scare me, doll,” Atsumu grinned, running towards you. “Hey baby.”
“Hey ‘Tsum.” You step on your tip-toe, pressing your lips to his cheek. “Brought you a bento.”
“You’re the best!” Atsumu cheered, taking the cloth-wrapped package.
“Got anythin’ for me, (Nickname)?”
You chuckle, nodding. “Oi!” Atsumu protested as you handed Osamu a wrapped box as well. “I don’t feel special anymore.” The older twin pouts, crossing his arms.
“I made yours special, ‘Tsum. There’s extra tuna in it,” you roll your eyes, amusement glinting in your eyes. “Auntie asked me to bring ‘Samu a bento though.” You step forward, greeting the rest of the team with a wide smile. “And I brought some honey lemon slices for y’all too.”
“You’re the best (Nickname).” Suna grinned, greedily taking the jar from you.
“Oi, you better share that,” Ginjima protested, heading over to Suna to try and swipe the jar.
“Don’t forget your manners.” Kita said, fixing his team-mates with a hard stare as he plucked the jar away from Suna and Gin. He turned back to you, bowing slightly. “Thank you (Name)-chan.”
The rest of the team chimed in their thanks. Heat crept up your neck as you waved them dismissively. “It’s fine! It’s the least I can do. Thanks for takin’ care of ‘Tsum.” Atsumu snaked an arm around your waist, nuzzling into your neck.
“You’re too nice to these scrubs,” he grumbles.
You pat his cheek affectionately. “I’ll see you later! Have a good practice.” You bow, wriggling out of Atsumu’s grip before heading out of the gym with one final wave.
“What’d you do to catch someone like (Name)?” Osamu complained, glaring at his brother.
“Did you bribe her?” Suna added mischievously.
“No!” Atsumu whined, crossing his arms. “She likes me for me.”
Ginjima snorted, “sure thing. Whatever you say, Atsumu.”
Kita cleared his throat. “Let’s get back to practice now, shall we?”
****
The table filled with laughter and exasperated sighs as the twins started arguing once more. “Can we just get along for once,” Ginjima grumbles, picking at his bento.
“If you ignore them, we can,” Suna retorts, disinterestedly observing the two as they rally insults and comments.
“Tsumu, ‘Samu, eat your lunches.”
“But-” Atsumu attempted to protest only to be immediately shut down by your stern look. “Fine, but this isn’t over, ‘Samu.”
Osamu rolled his eyes, turning back to his food and eating. “How’s classes been for you guys?” You ask, looking at the rest of the table only to be interrupted by your phone. Your eyes narrowed as you looked at the notification, the corner of your mouth twitching. “On second thought, I have to go.”
“What, already? You haven’t even finished your lunch, babe,” Atsumu’s brows furrowed as you stood up, gathering your stuff.
You send him an apologetic look, “I’ll eat later. Bye guys!” With one final wave, you disappear out of the dining hall. Suna raises an eyebrow as he watches you leave, biting his tongue from a scathing comment. He was sure it wasn’t anything serious, but it was definitely unusual to say the least. Since you had started dating Atsumu, you had never left lunch early. Nor had you ever left your food uneaten.
*****
“Hey, is everythin’ okay with you and (Name)?”
Atsumu looked up to Aran’s concerned face. “Yeah? Why wouldn’t it be?”
“We haven’t seen her around lately,” Suna stated bluntly. “Thought she broke up with you or something.” It had been three days since you’d left them suddenly at lunch, and your presence at lunch was sorely missed as you hadn’t returned since.
Atsumu’s jaw dropped, “No!” he spluttered. “She’s just been busy.”
“Hey babe?”
“What’s up?” Atsumu looked down at you while he walked by your side, escorting you home after a late practice. Osamu had gone home to the Miya household first.
“I’m not going to be able to visit practice for awhile.”
He frowns, pausing slightly as he surveys you. “Is everything okay?”
You flash him a smile, nodding. “Yeah! I just have some stuff to do after school for the next few weeks.”
Atsumu chews on his bottom lip, slowly nodding, “what kind of stuff?”
“Hey, didn’t you get invited to the All-Japan Intensive Youth Camp?”
His eyes lit up, nodding as he started swinging your intertwined hands once more. “Yeah I did! ‘Samu didn’t though.” You let out a small sigh of relief as he dives into the topic of volleyball and his twin.
Atsumu’s brow furrowed. Were you just trying to distract him?
“Busy?” Gin snorted. “Even when she’s busy, you still walk her home.”
“What does she have to be busy with?” Osamu asked, leaning forward and stretching. “She isn’t in any clubs, is she?”
Atsumu frowned, “no.”
Suna laid down onto the ground, playing on his phone. “She probably found someone better than Atsumu.”
“Hey!”
*****
Later that night, Atsumu found himself lying in bed wide awake. Beneath him, Osamu was snoring the night away. Atsumu rolled over, picking up his phone once more. 2 A.M. Still no ‘good night’ text from you. You had never missed a ‘good night’ text. Atsumu chewed on his bottom lip, Suna’s words coming back to haunt him.
“Are you sure she ain’t cheatin’ on you, Atsumu?” Suna asked, glancing up at Atsumu. “It’s pretty weird that she’s been ghostin’ you the past few days.”
“She hasn’t been ghostin’ me!” Atsumu protested. “She still sends me ‘good morning’, ‘good night’ texts.”
“Bet you she’ll miss it tonight.”
Gin frowned, looking between the group members. “Don’t be like that, Suna,” he chided. “(Nickname)’s a sweet girl. I don’t think she’d cheat on Atsumu.”
“Yeah! I’m sure there’s an explanation about what’s going on.”
Atsumu ended up laying in bed for another thirty minutes before exhaustion overwhelmed him. The next day, he woke up to no new text messages from you. He cursed under his breath. Could Suna be right? You guys weren’t having any issues. Or at least, none that he knew of. He tightened his resolve, searching for you as soon as he got to school. He popped into your classroom, only seeing your best friend.
“Hey, Aoi, have you seen (Name) ‘round?”
The brunette looked up to Atsumu, shaking her head. “Sorry, Atsumu. She’s out again.”
“Do you know where she’s at?”
Aoi shrugged, “(Nickname) just said she’d be out for the rest of the week. She didn’t tell me where she’d be.”
Atsumu frowned, nodding. You hadn’t mentioned anything about a week of absences in the sparse texts he had received from you. “Thanks anyways,” he muttered, heading back to his classroom.
“Find her?” Suna asked, glancing up from his bento. Atsumu shook his head. “Wonder where’s she been.”
“Aoi said she’d be out for the rest of the week,” Atsumu groaned, slumping into his chair and staring at his own lunch.
Osamu raised an eyebrow. “The rest of the week? Doin’ what?”
“Fuck if I knew,” Atsumu grumbled. “She didn’t say anythin’ ‘bout it to me though.”
Suna frowned. As much as he was joking about you cheating, he didn’t actually want that to be true. He actually enjoyed your company. You were one of the few who didn’t force him to interact with you.
Atsumu’s phone vibrated, causing him to brighten up.
(Name): Hey baby! Sorry for going MIA. I had to go to Tokyo for something. I won’t be back for the rest of the week. I love you so much, see you soon!
Atsumu frowned. Tokyo? What on Earth did you have to go to Tokyo for? The more he thought about it and asked around, the more questions surfaced. The fact that he didn’t even know what you were busy with made him feel like a really shitty boyfriend. He knows that he was constantly busy with volleyball, but you had always understood and he always let you know what was going on. But was that enough to cause distance between you two? Before you, he hadn’t considered dating because he was too committed to his sport. And yet, something had drawn him to you. With everything going on, he started wondering whether or not he truly knew you. After all, you would have told him, right? Had he not earned a right to know what was going on in your life?
*****
“(Name)!”
You turn, grinning. “Hey Tsum-Tsum!”
Atsumu stopped in front of you, panting slightly. He’d caught the sight of your hair and sprinted towards you. He couldn’t believe that you were here in front of him after a week of being in Tokyo. “Where have you been?”
You adjusted the duffel on your shoulder, “I told you, babe. I was in Tokyo.”
“Why were you in Tokyo?”
You open your mouth to reply only for your phone to interrupt you. Your eyes widened as you looked at the notification. “I’m so sorry Tsum-Tsum, I’m actually supposed to be at the train station in a few minutes. I just came to pick up my homework.”
“Wait!” He protested, grabbing your arm.
“I promise, I’ll explain everything when I get back,” you reply, eyes softening at the desperation in his eyes. You press your lips to his cheek. “I’ll see you on Sunday.”
His arms drop as you yank yourself free from his grip. Brown eyes watch as you sprint down the halls and outside the building. “Well?” Osamu asked, popping up beside him.
“Well what?”
Osamu rolled his eyes, grabbing his brother’s arm. “Let’s follow her and see where she’s goin’!”
“She said the train station?” Atsumu replied in a questioning tone as he sprinted after his brother. They both darted off campus, heads swiveling.
“There she is!” Osamu pants, pointing at your back. Both twins sprinted after you, ducking behind stores to hide whenever you glanced behind you. They watched as you pulled out your card, swiping into the station. Their eyebrows quirked up as they scrambled onto the same train as you. “Why’s she goin’ to Osaka?” Osamu muttered beside Atsumu as they sat a few rows behind you. You had your back to them, earphones in as you watched some type of videos on your phone. Osamu pulled on a cap, covering his gray hair. The twins pulled off their uniforms, taking turns to change into streetwear.
“No idea,” Atsumu said, eyebrows furrowing. What could be so important that you were missing so much school for it? Why hadn’t you just talked to him? If you were riding a train, why couldn’t you just text him? He fought the urge to text you. His phone vibrated as Suna texted the group-chat.
Suna: Oi, Miya twins. Where the fuck are you guys?
Atsumu: on a train
Suna: wtf why???
Osamu: we saw (Name) on-campus and she got on the train to Osaka.
Gin: wait, you’re going to OSAKA right now??? What about practice?
Atsumu: uhhh cover for us!
Gin: Kita’s gonna kill ya
Suna: I can’t wait to watch that 😇
Osamu: oi suna stfu
Gin: you shoulda told us. We would’ve came with y’all
Atsumu: you guys just don’t wanna be in class right now
Suna: LOL auntie is going to KILL you if Kita doesn’t
Atsumu blanched, exchanging looks with Osamu. They really didn’t plan this out very well. They look up only to see you standing up, causing Osamu to shove Atsumu’s head down. Osamu carefully watches as you disappear into the restroom, reappearing and pulling on a white and red jacket. “Oi.”
“What?” Atsumu hissed.
“Is (Nickname) on a sports team or somethin’?”
Atsumu’s brow furrowed. “Not that I know of, why?”
Osamu jerks his head towards you. “She’s got a national team jacket on.”
Atsumu’s head shot up, eyes narrowing at your form. “Huh.” They jump to their feet as you stand next to the entrance, waiting to disembark. The twins scramble off, watching as you make your way to transfer trains. They slipped in, taking their seats in the back once more as you sat near the doors.
Suna: Oi Atsumu
Atsumu: what?
Suna: does (Name) do gymnastics?
Atsumu: what??
Suna sent a photo to the group-chat.
Atsumu’s eyes widened as the photo loaded. Sure enough, there was a photo of you staring back at him wearing a sparkly red and gold leotard. You were holding a trophy, a gold medal around your neck as you waved. There was a black box underneath you with your name on it, as if taken from a screen-cap of the competition. “Holy crap,” he whispered.
Gin: holy crap! You’re datin a gymnast???
Suna: not just any gymnast. Apparently she’s on the Olympic roster
Atsumu: WTF she never told me that!!
“What the fuck,” Atsumu muttered, forehead creased. “Why didn’t she tell me?”
Osamu shrugged, reading through some links. “Here’s a video,” he said, texting a youtube link into the groupchat. Atsumu tapped on the link, watching as his girlfriend did several flips, splits, and other aerobatic techniques for her floor routine. “She competes at nationals?”
“Well if she’s an Olympian, that makes sense,” Osamu snorted, rolling his eyes. “Ah, looks like this is our stop, ‘Tsumu.”
*****
“You’re an Olympian?!” Atsumu asked, running up to you just as you got off of the stage performing your routine.
“Tsum-Tsum! ‘Samu! What are you guys doin’ here?” Your eyes widened as you looked at your boyfriend and his twin. They didn’t even know you did competitions. How on Earth did they manage to sneak downstairs to the main stage anyways?
“Findin’ out that my girlfriend does gymnastics. Not only that, that she’s good enough to be on the national team. And the Olympics? What the fuck?!” Atsumu hissed.
You flushed, scratching your neck. You were about to answer when the Olympic coach came by, grabbing your arm. “Hey (L.Name), you have to do some interviews. Talk to your fans later.”
“Oh! Okay.” You send the twins an apologetic look. “I’ll be right back, I promise I’ll explain everything,” you plead.
Atsumu huffed, crossing his arms but nodding. After having been to major tournaments himself, he knew very well what needed to be done after competitions. He and Osamu stepped to the side, wandering the venue a bit. “Maybe I should’ve gotten flowers,” Atsumu said, scratching his neck.
“Oi, don’t they normally sell flowers at the venues?”
Atsumu’s eyes widened. “You’re right!” They wander around the hall a little longer, finding a booth of merchandise. Atsumu laughs rambunctiously, spying a t-shirt with your face on it. How had he never seen these before? He quickly queues up, purchasing one with the intention of messing with you the next time you guys hang out. Osamu rolls his eyes at his twin’s antics, but remains silent as he scans the hall for a food vendor.
Just further down the hall, Atsumu spies the flower vendor. “I’m gonna go get (Nickname) some flowers,” he tells Osamu. “You can go ahead and find food.”
Osamu nods, disappearing into the crowd without another word.
Walking up to the booth, Atsumu blanches at the many options. Should he just get a classic bouquet of red roses? “Would you like to buy some flowers?” The sweet grandmother looked up at him, smiling. He chews his bottom lip, nodding slightly. She chuckles at his expression. “Confused on to what to get?” Another nod. “Who is it for?”
He clears his throat, cheeks dusted pink in embarrassment. Atsumu was confident in volleyball, that’s why he was so dedicated. He was confident in himself. But why was he so nervous and out of sorts whenever it came to you? “My girlfriend is competing today.”
“And you came out here to support her? You’re not from here, right?”
He shakes his head. “We’re from Hyogo.”
The vendor smiles, picking up a bundle of purple shobu, carefully wrapping them and handing him the bouquet with a kind smile. “Give her this.”
Atsumu lets out a sigh of relief, expression lightening. “Thank you!”
He makes his way back to where he had run into you earlier, waiting patiently near the door for you to make your appearance once more. Atsumu didn’t have to wait long. Within ten minutes, a lithe body was flinging themselves onto him. “‘Tsum-Tsum!” You grin, wrapping your arms around him. “I can’t believe you’re here!”
Atsumu flushes, ear-tips turning cherry red as he hands her the bouquet of irises. “Here, I got you this.”
Your eyes widen, taking the bouquet delicately. “Atsumu, you really didn’t have to.”
He panics, noting the lilt to your voice as he grabs your shoulders. “Oh god, are you okay? Why are you cryin’?”
You shake your head, holding the flowers closer to you. “Do you know what these mean?”
Atsumu stops, looking down at the bouquet. “Would you be mad if I said no?”
Giggling, you shake your head harder. “You’re such a scrub, I swear. These mean ‘loyalty, good tidings, and good news’.”
He clears his throat, “yeah of course I knew that.”
“Whatever you say, Tsum-Tsum.” You tease, leaning up to give his cheek a kiss. “Thank you.”
Atsumu grabs your hand, trying to lead you out of the exhibition hall. “So what’s this competition for?”
You glanced over at your boyfriend. “These are the qualifiers for the Toyota International.”
“The what?”
“It’s the international competition held in Toyota every year. Since I turned 16 last year, this is the first time I’m allowed to compete in it.”
“Holy crap, you’re an international star, babe!”
You scoff, rolling your eyes. “You’re such a dork.”
He throws his arm around you, pressing his lips to your forehead. “So how come you never told me?’
Shrugging, you zipped up your jacket. “You’re normally doing volleyball camps and stuff when I have competitions, so I felt bad inviting you when I knew you were busy training.” Atsumu swooped down, scooping up your duffel. “And well I mean, we weren’t really dating when I went to the Olympics, so I didn’t really feel like you needed to know at the time.”
“So who does know?”
“Just the faculty and Aya. I need their permission to leave campus and miss school,” you grin before a dark look shadowed your face. “I didn’t want the rest of school to know about it, otherwise there’d just be too much attention on me.”
“It wouldn’t have been that bad!” Atsumu protested.
You fix Atsumu with a hard stare. “Oh really? I already get enough attention from guys. What makes you think that they wouldn’t be even more obsessed with me if they knew?” You shivered. “They’d probably be as intense as your fan-girls.” Atsumu blanched, nodding slightly. He’d already fought off a decent number of guys. Him and the volleyball team. “Besides, everyone’s attention is on the volleyball team, so I can hide under the radar perfectly well!” Atsumu placed his hand on your waist, leading you towards the exit when some more reporters started heading your way. “Ah shit,” you muttered. “If we get photographed together, then everyone will know.”
“I’ll distract them.” Atsumu offered, pushing you to the side and walking directly towards the reporter. You grin at your boyfriend’s self-sacrifice - though you knew he’d secretly love the attention anyways - and ducked out the back entrance, switching your national jacket for an Inarizaki hoodie. As you straighten up, you slam into a hard chest.
“(Nickname)?”
You glance up, eyes widening. “Hey ‘Samu! Was just wonderin’ where you were.”
“Where’s ‘Tsumu?”
You point your thumb behind you. “Distractin’ the reporters for me.”
Osamu hummed, eating another takoyaki before offering you a box. “Want some?”
“Yes please! I’m starving.” You took the box, joining Osamu as you guys waited outside the stadium. Your legs were swinging as you ate.
“So, you’re an Olympian?”
You nodded, sipping your water. “And what of it?”
“‘Tsumu never knew?”
You scoff, rolling your eyes. “If I told Atsumu, the whole school would know the same day.”
Osamu chuckled, shaking his head. “You ain’t wrong about that. The scrub loves to brag, especially ‘bout you.” Osamu pulls out a bag of chips from his bag, opening one under your quizzical gaze. “He really loves ya, y’know?”
“Hmm?”
“He was stressin’ out this whole week. He thought he lost you or somethin’.”
Undoing your hair, you pull your hood over your head and slide some shades on as you spot some reporters skulking around. “I didn’t mean to. I was just so busy with everythin’, it was hard to keep in contact with anyone.”
Osamu shrugs. “Just make sure you keep him updated from now on, yeah? Isn’t that what people do in relationships or whatever?” Osamu gazes out, waving to Atsumu who was just leaving the arena. “Your partner in a relationship is who you want to stand by you for life. It’s you against the world, right? Otherwise what is it all for?” He shrugs again. “Just food for thought.” You flash him a smile before you both stand, greeting Atsumu. “How was the reporters, ya scrub?”
Atsumu shrugged, “coulda been better. They were surprised to see me, kept asking me who I was here to support.” He eyed Osamu. “You didn’t get stopped?”
The younger twin just points at his hat. “I don’t go outta my way to get recognized like you do ‘Tsumu.”
Atsumu grinned, throwing his arm around you. “I didn’t, but I had to protect my baby.”
Osamu pretends to retch, shoving his twin. “C’mon scrubs, we gotta get back to Hyogo.”
The silver-haired twin leads the way as you and Atsumu slowly follow behind him, hands intertwining. “So, why were you in Tokyo?”
You shrug, “I had to do a week-long training camp with the Olympic coach. Had to prep for this competition, y’know?”
Atsumu hummed, squeezing your hand slightly. “How come you never practice back home?”
At this, you giggle, shaking your head. “I do, Tsum-Tsum.”
“What?” His eyebrows furrowed. He’d never noticed you going to practice or having obligations.
“There’s a gym a few streets away from campus. I meet my gymnastics coach there to practice. Or I’ll visit the dance studio on-campus and do my flexibility exercises there.” You shrug, giving him a good-natured smile. “What do you think I do during your practices anyways?”
“I dunno, miss me?”
You shove him. “You’re ridiculous.”
He chuckles. Just as you reach the train station, he turns to you fully. “Hey babe?”
Turning to face him, your head tilts. “What’s up?”
“Promise me you’ll invite me to some of your competitions?” He hesitates, chewing on his bottom lip. “I feel like a real shitty boyfriend for not supportin’ you more.”
Your expression softens. “I promise, Tsum-Tsum. No more secrets.”
“One more thing.” Atsumu comes to a full stop, unzipping his jacket with the cheesiest smile on his face. “What do you think of my shirt?”

The Town's Matron
TW: starvation, hunger, parental abuse, bbu warning
Flynn watches Kai out of the corner of his eye. Using one of Flynn’s mechanical pencils, Kai draws on the back of an old receipt. Eyes fully entranced on the pencil lines. Flynn pushes the shopping cart forward gently, so as to not disturb Kai who is sitting inside. A yawn leaves Flynn’s mouth as he looks across the shelves. The shopping list, if one could even call it that, sits clapped to the baby holder on the cart.
Holding up one of the sturdy backpacks, Flynn asks Kai, “Do you like this one?”
Kai eyes it for a second and hesitates before snapping to the chipper attitude he usually has and nods. Flynn blinks and looks back at the shelf, trying to follow where Kai flicked his eyes.
One thing he learned about box boys was that they never said no. That fact alone made Flynn worried for him.
What do they do to you to make you so compliant?
“Is there another one you like more?”
Kai pauses his drawing and slowly looks up at a green one. He points the pencil at it for a moment before going back to doodling. Flynn pulls the bag free from the shelf and holds it out. Kai beams and nods back at him, scrunching his nose like he usually does when he’s actually happy.
So, it’s safe to say that Kai really likes green.
Flynn looks over the price and the pockets of the bag. It’s made of decently sturdy material and is big enough to hold things other than one notebook. He slides it beside Kai in the cart and grabs the largest one he can see to go with it. These bags will need to hold a lot of things for a while.
Flynn tries to rub away the tiredness that eats at his vision. He had been driving for two hours before arriving at the nearest city to buy this stuff. He couldn’t do this in town. Everyone there knew him and someone would tell his father and he knew he would taste another piece of hell.
All of this needs to be yours and no one can know.
Kai sits in the cart surrounded by clothes for multiple seasons, bottles of soap, boxes of nonperishables, and a dozen donuts to use as a bribe for when Flynn returns to his Father’s house. One more month. That thought alone keeps Flynn going, keeping his eyes up. One more month until I take Kai and drive out west, leaving this hell behind.
Kai looks up and points behind him. Flynn looks over his shoulder and feels his stomach sink.
“Flynn!” an elderly woman, whom he knew well, cheers from across the aisle, “How are you?”
Pulling on his calm, practiced happy face, “I’m doing well Mrs. Dane, how are you and the family.”
“Oh excellent,” Mrs. Dane chirps, “The grandbabies are just so sweet and God has been good, what’s a young man like you doing this far out of town?”
“I could ask you the same,” Flynn smiles as he turns to the elderly woman. Mrs. Eliza Danes, the oldest woman in his small town and a woman who was respected. She is the kind of elderly woman with the tenderest heart but, at the flick of her eyes, could instill the fear of God into the devil himself.
“One of my kids lives out here sweetpea. Visiting the grandbabies, six, four, and three they are. All sweeter than honey! But you didn’t answer my question young man,” she beams as she looks past him into his cart, “And who’s he?”
“Oh, that’s Kai, he doesn’t do much speaking and well, something you just gotta come to the city for.”
Mrs. Dane raises a withered eyebrow, “Flynn, sweetie, you look like you haven’t seen a good warm meal in days. Whatcha doing with yourself?”
“Don’t worry, I’m walking on my own two feet.”
She smiles at him and says, “I don’t doubt it for a second honey. How ‘bout you come help little ol’ me finish shopping and come back with me to get you nice and fed.”
Flynn gives her a nervous smile, “I shouldn’t, my old man would wring my neck.”
And hurt Kai if he’s really mad.
Mrs. Dane drops her gaze and gives Flynn a knowing look before perking up again, “What did you eat last?”
A piece of toast yesterday morning.
“A sandwich for lunch, I’ll eat supper when I get home.”
Mrs. Dane shakes her head, “Lying does not please the Lord young man, and I know your father well enough to know exactly why you’re dodging this.”
“Mrs. Dane please-”
“Do not interrupt me young man, you and Kai are coming over to my house tonight and I’ma feed both of y’all, you hear? I do not care what your Father says I will personally escort to the Lord if he tries anyhing stupid.”
“Yes ma’am,” Flynn says, eyes on the floor and now very aware of the emptiness in his stomach.
Mrs. Dane looks up, “Now. Look at me.”
Flynn raises his eyes and meets Mrs. Dane’s. Fear eats at the lining of his stomach along with hunger. He feels his hands begin to shake against the cart handle.
“I remember when I was your age,” Mrs. Dane begins with a much softer voice, “There were alot more men like your Father raisin’ youngin’s and I know what that cart is for and you will be finishing the story after you're fed, is that correct?”
“Yes ma’am.”
Flynn turns around and locks eyes with Kai. Kai curled himself under Flynn’s hoodie and was watching the entire conversation. Unease reflects off the mirrors of his eyes. Flynn tries to give Kai a comforting smile but Kai sees through the facade like looking from a window.
Mrs. Dane talks about everyday things as they finish their shopping. The air presses into Flynn’s skin as he pays for what will be his salvation.
If Mrs. Dane doesn’t stop it before it even happens.
Kai helps Flynn stuff the bags into the area behind their seats. Flynn slides into the driver’s seat and Kai grabs his hand and gives him a sort of tender, questioning look. His slender fingers press into the hardened skin of his hand and send shivers up Flynn’s spine.
“It’s okay,” Flynn says, trying to reassure himself more than Kai, “Everything’s gonna be alright.”
Kai nods and lets go of Flynn’s hand. Kai returns to a still sitting position that he is sure is one of the numbered positions but he just doesn’t remember which one. Flynn lets a panic attack stew under the surface of his skin. The air in his lungs doesn’t taste right and it’s never enough. His vision is only clear on the road, his periphery blurred beyond usability.
Somehow, he makes it to the small log cabin next to the church.
Mrs. Dane lived alone, her husband passed a decade prior. Flynn, despite only being eight at the time, still remembers the suit his mother wrestled him into for the trip to the church. Mr. Dane was buried in the church cemetery.
Flynn steps out of his car and lets the crisp air of Fall snap him awake. Kai zips to his side, clinging to his arm. Kai’s fingers squeeze around Flynn’s arm and Kai nuzzles his nose into his shoulder. Flynn nods to himself and walks up towards the house, Kai on his heels.
He opens the door to let Kai and Mrs. Dane through before carrying all of her groceries into her home. All while, Flynn fights through the pain of hunger and fear. The ache of his stomach drags at his eyes. The emptiness in his gut almost feels too full and Flynn chokes back the urge to vomit up air.
Flynn can’t deny, the idea of any food in his stomach, no matter how revolting, was tempting.
Mrs. Dane gives him a warm smile, “Thank you, now about supper, I have a pork roast in the crockpot and I’m gonna bake up some potatoes for you and your little buddy. Now you two wash up and sit down.”
Flynn’s stomach growls and it takes every ounce of willpower he can muster to keep from curling in on himself. The cramps get worse by the second and they keep growing in area and intensity. Kai, after washing his hands, wraps Flynn in a hug. His eyes silently apologize.
Since Flynn has been giving Kai his food for the past couple of days.
Mrs. Dane finally calls them to the table. The food looks like gold and diamonds to Flynn. The pork is falling apart on itself and he can smell the spices and marinade from across the table. His mouth waters as he pushes Mrs. Dane into her chair.
Kai sits anticipatedly at the table, bouncing in his chair.
Flynn wraps an arm around his stomach as he sits. Mrs. Dane bows her head and says, “Let’s say grace.”
Flynn doesn’t hear what Mrs. Dane says as a prayer of thanks leaves her lips. The warm smell of food encapsulates his senses.
“Amen, Let’s eat.”
That’s all he had to hear.
If it weren’t for the years of table manners drilled into his skull, he might have ripped the pork out with his bare hands. He lets Mrs. Dane fills her plate first and then he fille Kai’s, out of both respect and to excuse the fact he wanted to eat everything on the table.
After the couple seconds that felt like years, he finally sunk his teeth into actual food.
His body just takes over after that and eats.
“Hasn’t eaten today hasn’t he?” Mrs. Dane says after a minute of Flynn snarfing down his food.
Kai, barely through a baked potato, shakes his head no.
Kai! Why do you betray me like this?!
“I knew it,” Mrs. Dane huffs, “I’ma kill that man, starving his son because of what, a lack of care!”
Flynn looks up and pauses eating, “I- It’s not- Um-”
Mrs. Dane shakes his head, “Let me tell you a story. When I was a young woman I had a sister, Anabel Peterson, she was a lot like you.”
Flynn shifts uncomfortably in his seat. He glances over and sees Kai leaning in, listening attentively.
“How so?” Flynn asks as he continues to stuff his face, slower now.
Mrs. Dane sighs, “Your Father likes to talk and most of the town knows that you… as we would call it back in my day, fruity.
That I’m gay. Yeah, he yelled it out in church last weekend.
“So was my sister, and she had… relations with a woman who was of a darker shade than we are. My Father found out one day and began to treat her very poorly and one morning I saw her grab similar things to what you have in your car and left. I have not seen her since.”
Flynn looks up from his plate and sees remorse and regret across the elderly woman’s face, “That must have been hard.”
“Yes,” she replies with a sigh, “I deeply regret not going after her, to take back many of the hurtful things I said.”
Kai looks back at Flynn and blinks. His eyes have a flavor of understanding that looked unfamiliar even to Kai. It is strange to behold. Flynn looks back at Mrs. Dane, “What are you getting at?”
“I know you plan to leave and never return, it is obvious and I do not blame you for the sentiment. I want to help you,” she says as she finishes her plate, “I know we will more than likely not see you again but I wish to at least make your last memories of here have some dignity.”
Flynn sighs, tons of worry and fear falling away like petals in a torrent. His head falls into his hands and has to hold back the reins of his tears to keep himself from crying in relief. “Thank you.”
“Pack your things here and let me know if you need anything, when you decide to leave come here and pick them up.”
The world both spins and tears for Flynn at once, some pieces of this plan come together and he finds himself smiling, “I- Thank you.”
Mrs. Dane smiles, “You’re welcome sweetheart, I hope God leads you to a better place than this one.”
Flynn and Kai look at each other and Kai beams a thousand stars worth of joy in Flynn’s direction. Flynn can’t help but absorb some of that happiness and smile at himself. The air seems lighter around him and for the first time in weeks he feels like he can breathe.
“Do either of you two want ice cream?”
Kai instantly perks up at the idea of anything sweet and nods frantically. The redhead practically vibrates in the chair.
Flynn nods, “Yes please.” Letting himself feel calm for a moment, he takes what he’s offered and eats.
Then his phone rings.

Shooting Stars and Satellites
I finished it! Thank you to @apsychicmoosewithflannelforfur for beta reading, and for everyone who liked the snippet I posted yesterday.
Summary: Jody’s house is full of damn good food, and damn good people. There’s nowhere better to spend thanksgiving.
Read on Ao3
“Dean! Will you please sit still!”
Sam ran a hand down his exhausted face as his son once again jumped off his chair to go bother the dog, ruining the shirt that Sam had just finished tucking in.
“Why?” Dean asked, pulling on Miracle’s ear. Miracle, to his credit, was being very calm about the whole situation.
“Because we’re going over to Auntie Jody’s house for Thanksgiving, remember? It’s a special day, so you should wear special clothes.”
“Why?” Dean asked again. Honestly, the kid had a point. Sam sighed, giving Dean one more once over, before deciding that the shirt was a lost cause and leaving it be.
“Good question, why don’t you ask Auntie Jody when we get there. Now come here so I can do your hair.” Sam grabbed a comb and got one pull through Dean’s mess of hair before the three year old shrieked and ran from the room.
“Dean!” Sam chased the boy into the hallway to find him caught in Eileen’s arms, struggling to get free.
“What happened?” she asked, exasperated.
‘Didn’t want me to brush his hair,’ Sam signed back. Eileen grinned.
“Sounds like somebody else I know,” she replied, giving Sam a knowing look. He rolled his eyes. Eileen let Dean go, silencing him with a look. Their son hung his head and allowed his father to quickly brush through his hair, which turned out to be pointless anyway. At this point they were already running late, so there was a mad dash to get the Winchester Surprise out of the oven and strap Dean into his car seat.
When they arrived, Patience met them in the front yard. She gave Dean a big hug then ushered him towards the house. He ran ahead while she helped Sam and Eileen carry some of their dishes in.
“Sorry we’re late, things were a little chaotic,” Sam apologized hurriedly. Patience turned toward them.
“Don’t worry about it! We haven’t gotten up to much yet, though Gertie and the boys have been so excited for Dean to get here.”
Sam chuckled fondly, remembering how ecstatic Dean had been when he had told him Sammy and Cas were going to be there. Garth’s twins were six, three years older than Dean, but they all played together like they were the same age, ever since Dean learned how to walk. Someone had once made a joke that it was meant to be, Team Free Will 3.0, but people stopped saying stuff like that after Eileen threatened to break their wrists. Gertie liked to play with them too, but she’d recently hit that awkward age where she’s torn between wanting to sit at the adults table, wanting to prove she can be a good babysitter, and wanting to just run around with her brothers. Luckily that meant she tried to hang out with everyone at family dinners, which all the guests always appreciated.
Upon walking through the door they were greeted by Gertie and the twins running through the foyer, Claire following closely behind to make sure they didn’t break anything. Jody noticed them enter and straightened up, closing the oven door.
“Sam! Eileen! Happy Thanksgiving!” She made her way over to the pair and gave each of them a tight hug. She grabbed Sam by the jaw and looked him in the eyes. “How are you doin’ Sam?”
He gave her a somewhat forced smile. The five year anniversary of Dean’s death had been just a few days ago, and it had been rough on all of them. Jody sighed and patted his face, then turned around to head back into the kitchen. “Everyone’s in the living room, they’re excited to see y’all. I’ll catch up in a few minutes, I’ve just gotta finish checking this damn turkey.”
Sam translated this information to Eileen, who was looking at him expectantly. Their friends tried their best, but it was difficult to lipread so many people, sometimes people forgot they had to be looking directly at her to be understood.
They entered the living room and were greeted by a lot of women. And Garth. Bess and Donna were watching the game with rapt attention, while Garth and Kaia sat off to the side, drinking beer and chatting quietly. Patience and Alex were helping in the kitchen, and Sam hoped to God that wherever Claire and the kids were, she was keeping them out of trouble rather than enabling it, but he sincerely doubted it.
Sam cleared his throat and everyone’s eyes turned to them. Then the room erupted in a cacophony of greetings. Donna got up and gave the both of them a bear hug, squeezing the air out of their lungs. Everyone was talking to them at once, and Sam couldn’t even think about trying to help Eileen, because he couldn’t figure out who to focus on. He just tried to say hey to everyone, and Eileen did the same. They all exchanged how are you’s, good to see you’s, it’s been a while’s. It was nice, seeing all of them, but it wasn’t long before he found himself putting a hand on Eileen’s shoulder to get her attention.
‘I’m going to help Jody and the girls. You stay and visit,’ he signed, getting up. She smiled at him and squeezed his hand, then turned back to the story Donna was telling about the nice young hunter she’d met recently, who had asked her to dinner and a movie, but don’t be goofball Eileen, he wasn’t interested in her! Sam huffed a laugh at Donna’s obliviousness.
“Need a hand?” he asked as he entered the kitchen. Jody looked over at him as she washed a potato, nodding over at the cutting board that was currently occupied by Patience.
“Sure! How about you take over for Patience over there, she’s been helping me all day long.” She moved out of the way of the sink to let him wash his hands, then went back to the potatoes. Patience gave him a grateful smile as she handed over the knife she was using to chop carrots. They worked in silence for a few minutes, the only conversation coming from Alex telling Sam to get the hell out of the way of the cutlery drawer, which he did hastily, worried about what she would do once she got the knife she wanted from it. After a while though, the overwhelmed feeling that he had been trying to escape before died down, and he felt up for some small talk.
“So, how have things been over here?” he asked, scooping up the celery pieces and throwing them in a bowl.
“Well, it’s been a little bit lonely around here with Patience in school and Claire and Kaia out of the nest. I’m just happy to have them home for the holidays.” Jody replied, and Sam nodded, drying his hands on a dish towel. The house had been so busy for so long, but now most of the girls had moved on. “At least I still have Alex, but she’s not home as much, because she got a new job.”
“Jody!” Alex squeaked, embarrassed.
“What?! That’s amazing!” Sam cheered. She had been having trouble finding work after finishing school, and had been waiting for a job to come up for a few months. “Where are you working?”
“I got hired as a nurse practitioner here at Sioux Falls General,” she replied nonchalantly, and Sam’s jaw dropped.
“Alex! That’s incredible! I’m so proud of you.”
“Thanks,” she said quietly, blushing at the praise. They quickly finished up the last of the work that needed to be done in the kitchen, and everything was in the oven. All they needed to do was wait. The three of them started to make their way back into the living room, but before they crossed the threshold, Sam caught Jody by the elbow.
“You did a really good job with them,” he told her. They both watched as Alex sat down on the couch next to Patience, stealing one of the crackers she was holding.
“I barely did anything,” Jody replied, leaning against the doorframe.
“You know that’s not true,” Sam scolded, “They’re good kids, but you’re the one that led them down the right path. You gave them the love and acceptance they needed most. You’re a hero Jody. And a good mom.”
“Well then,” Jody whispered, taking a sip of her beer. They both ignored the shine of tears in her eyes. “Thank you for bringing them to me.”
They stood in silence for a few more moments before Jody cleared her throat.
“Speaking of good parents, where’s your son?” Sam laughed out loud.
 “Hell if I know.”
“Well, find him, and get washed up. We’re goin’ to eat soon.”
They went their separate ways, and Sam eventually found Dean in the backyard, covered in mud and showing a worm to Cas. Claire was nearby, trying to get Sammy to stop pulling on her hair. She looked so worn out that he almost felt bad for her, but instead he just laughed at her predicament and helped peel Sammy off of her. He gave her a beer as a form of thanks, which she took gratefully.
“Cas, Sammy, it’s time for dinner.” At the mention of food, the twins perked up and immediately started running back inside. Dean made no move to get up from his spot in the dirt, tearing out handfuls of grass. “Dean, c’mon bud. Let's go get washed up.” When Dean didn’t answer, Sam crouched down to his level. “What’s wrong dude? You not hungry?” Dean crawled into Sam’s lap, and quietly started playing with the buttons on his dad’s shirt.
“Daddy?” he asked in a small voice.
“Yeah Dean?”
“There’s only one me.” Sam looked down at his son, confused.
“What do you mean bud? Of course there’s only one of you.”
“I heard Cousin Claire say I’m just like other Dean.” Sam froze. “What does that mean? There’s only on me, right?” Sam swallowed the lump in his throat and rubbed Dean’s back.
“Yeah, there’s only one you. Don’t worry, I’m not hiding another one somewhere.” Sam told the boy, knowing that was what he was worried about. Dean nodded, and uncurled himself from Sam’s lap, now confident in his own uniqueness.
“Then who’s other Dean?” he asked, going back to shredding up clumps of grass. Jody was going to kill them. Sam took a shaky breath.
“Have I ever told you the story of how you got your name?” Sam asked, knowing he hadn’t. Dean shook his head. “Well, before you were born, I had a big brother.”
“Like my big brother?”
“Kind of, but it was more like how Sammy and Cas are brothers. His name was Dean, just like you,” Dean looked up at Sam, his dark eyes full of curiosity. He looked more like Eileen than he would ever look like Sam. “But he died. Just like how Mr. Water the fish died, remember?” Dean frowned at the mention of his dead goldfish, but looked like he understood. “So we named you after him, because he was really awesome, and we knew you were gonna be really awesome too.”
“Oh.” Dean said, then looked contemplative for a moment. “Am I just like other Dean?” Sam sighed.
“In some ways. Like how cool you are, and how much you love Miracle. But you’re different in a lot of ways too. And that’s a good thing. Because that means you are your own person, and we love that person so, so much. Do you hear me?” Sam took Dean by the shoulders and looked him in the eyes to make sure he understood.
When it was clear he did, Sam decided the serious moment was over. “Come on, let’s get washed up.” he announced, trying to grab Dean by the midsection.
“No!! I don’t want to!” Dean giggled, trying to escape his father’s grasp.
“I guess if you won’t listen to me, you’ll have to listen to… the tickle monster!” Dean squealed with breathless laughter as Sam attacked him, and was quickly begging him to stop. Sam did, and got up, reaching out a hand for Dean to take.
Together they went inside and washed their hands for dinner. As they entered the dining room, Sam passed Dean onto Eileen, who watched with amused attention as her son excitedly started signing about the bugs he found outside. Garth and Donna finished setting the table, and everyone sat down. Sam started reaching for a roll, but Jody slapped his hand away from across the table.
“Sam Winchester, I swear!” She scolded, with no real heat behind the words.
“Sorry Jody!” She shook her head at him, then stood up to address the group.
“Since this is Thanksgiving, I wanted to be stereotypical for a second and tell all of you just how grateful I am that we have each other, and that everyone could make it up this year. And of course, we should remember that those who couldn’t be here, are here in spirit, and we miss them every day,” Everyone bowed their heads. It was a hunter gathering, after all. They had to acknowledge the ones they lost.
“We’re all so lucky to be with each other and eat this food together, this food that we slaved over, so you better damn well enjoy it! Dig in.” Everyone cheered as Jody finished her speech and sat back down.
All of them started loading their plates with delicious smelling food, and the whole room was full of laughter. Sam got Dean some strips of turkey breast, some mashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli, which was the only part of the meal he ate. Eileen had to force him to eat two bites of turkey before he could have desert. There were three kinds of pie, and a dozen chocolate chip cookies that Jody had made specifically for Dean, because Dean didn’t like pie. He never had.
The night started to die down after desert. Jody recruited Claire and Kaia to help with the dishes, as they hadn’t helped with cooking earlier. The Fitzgeralds headed out first, because the kids all had school tomorrow. The stragglers were all lounging in the living room, trying to recover from the meal. Sam had an arm around Eileen’s shoulder, Dean curled up in between them. Eileen exchanged hunting stories with Donna, but Sam could see her yawning, and he felt about the same. Dean looked like he was going to be out for good if they stayed any longer. He patted her on the back, and she looked at him. He removed his arm from her shoulder and straightened his posture.
‘Ready to head home?’ he asked. She nodded, and they moved to get up. Sam scooped Dean into his arms, and they said their last goodbyes to Donna, Alex, and Patience. They made their way into the kitchen to let Jody and the girls know they were heading out. Kaia waved from her spot on the counter. Claire gave an enthusiastic goodbye to them, and gave Dean a high-five to send him off.
They grabbed the dishes they had brought along, and their coats to protect against the November chill. Jody followed them out to the front porch.
“Bye Jody! Thank you so much for dinner.” Eileen said, and Jody gave her a hug.
“Have a nice night Eileen,” she said once they had broken the embrace. Eileen nodded, and turned to Sam.
‘I’ll wait in the car,’ she signed, and put a hand on his shoulder as a way to tell him to take as long as he needed. Sam nodded, and turned back to say one last goodbye to Jody. Dean was half-asleep in his arms, his head rolling around on Sam’s shoulder.
The warm light and far-off clatter of dishes inside poured through the still-open door, fading softly into the quiet night air as calming background noise.
“Thanks for havin’ us today Jody,” Sam said quietly, hoisting his son higher up in his arms.
“Of course Sam. You know you’re welcome anytime.” She gave Sam a tight one-armed hug and kissed Dean on the top of his head. “You take care of yourself, okay Sam?” Sam smiled.
“Always do,” he replied. Jody chuckled.
“Uh huh. Dean?” Dean lifted his head to look at Jody, his tiny hand letting go of Sam’s neck to rub at his bleary eyes, “Take care of your daddy for me, will you?”
“Kay Auntie Jody,” Dean mumbled. Sam grip on him tightened minutely. He sounded like Dean.
“Good boy.” Jody whispered, and ruffled his hair. Dean batted her hand away, grumbling. Jody laughed and switched to ruining Sam’s hair, and he made a very indignant noise, which made Dean giggle. They all took a deep breath, inhaling in the scent of the damp grass that surrounded them. “Good night Sam,”
He nodded, and Jody gave them one last look before turning around and heading back into the house, closing the door behind her. They were left in a gentle silence.
“Did you have fun?” Sam asked as they made their way towards the car. Dean nodded against his chest, his thumb in his mouth. They were trying to break him out of that habit, worried about the long term effect on his jaw, but Sam decided to let him be tonight. They leaned against the car door for a moment.
“Let’s say goodnight to your brother.”
Dean looked up at the moon, then raised his hand to give a small wave.
“Night Jack,”
A breeze came through the trees, the stars seemed to shine a little brighter, and Sam felt every blade of grass reach out to them in recognition. He sighed.
Goodnight.

Sleeping Alone — David Dobrik
a/n: ok so here it is, my first piece of writing I felt okay enough to post. pls be gentle with it but also be honest!! Let me know if it’s okay or if it’s trash!! Also feel free to request & I’ll try to get another piece out soon. :) (edited) Word Count: 2k
As the chatter around you continues, you absentmindedly continued to stare at your hands. You weren’t quite bored yet; it was mainly you being exhausted and not in the mood to be socially bubbly. Most days are simply like that.
As you twirled the stem of your wine glass between your thumb and forefinger, you got distracted by the chipped polish arming your manicured hand. You let out another exhale that seemed to carry the attitude of an annoyed sigh as you swirled the remnants of your glass and sipping down your remaining wine.
That was your third glass and you don’t think it would be your last. It had been a month since the breakup with Ty. And while you know it had to happen, that it was bound to happen, that didn’t stop the hollowness in your chest from being noticeable. Two years of dating—two years of building a life, simply reduced to a love that was spread so thin it disappeared all together.
That’s how you found yourself reaching across the kitchen island, your fingers curling around the neck of the wine bottle. The laughs of your friends filled your ears as you poured another generous helping for yourself.
God did you love your friends; you honestly wouldn’t know what you would do without them. You swiveled in the chair turning to face the couch watching as Heath and Mariah danced to the beat, his hand on the small of her back as her head was thrown back in laughter at Zane grabbing Jeff to dance as well. A smile settled on your face watching the joy on their faces and the clear dismay on Jeff’s face as Zane proceeded to try and kiss him. But the smile didn’t reach your eyes, it never seemed to.
As you swirled the glass in your hand, observing the energy of the room, your eyes finally settled on brown eyes. He just set his camera down on the table, reaching for his beer that he had been nursing all night. When Zane tackles Todd over the couch, a roar of laughter following, you watch David’s smile widen in childlike glee at the mayhem, his body rocking back to settle into the plush cushions.
Your silent watching was interrupted by Natalie rushing to your side, grabbing the right side of your face to plant a drunken kiss against your left cheek. “Hey babes, you okay?” She asked, looping an arm around your neck.
“Yeah—no—yeah I’m fine, just feeling in an observational mood” you retorted, not feeling like delving into how you truly are feeling. You looped your arm around her shoulders, leaning into her hold.
Natalie and David have been two primarily strongholds for you since the breakup. The long process of moving out of what once was yours and Ty’s little home seemed to be slow moving process. For a week, every night seemed to end with you wrapped in blankets on Dave’s couch, his arm slung around your shoulders, your tears silently rolling down your cheeks as you would watch whatever video or show was playing in the background. David never pushed you to talk like the others would sometime do. He seemed to understand that you weren’t always needing to talk, he would just sit with you and be there. That was all he could do and that was all you could ever need.
Those nights on the couch with David always seemed to end the same, your eyes slowly flitting shut. As you would fall deeper into sleep your body instinctively would curl into his chest, the warmth of him wrapping you into a sense of peace— at last. But it would never truly last. Because eventually David would get up to go to his room, standing and pulling over a pillow for your head to lean on as his replacement. He would spread the blanket you were already tangled in to cover you and stretch his arms above him, finally free to move from the position you had been locked in with him.
He always assumed you would remain fast asleep during his departure but you didn’t—you never did.
He didn’t know that you could feel the cold contrast of the pillow he deemed a replacement. He didn’t know you would feel his lips ghost over your forehead or his fingers merely graze your eyebrow as he moves stray pieces of hair out of your face.
But most importantly, he didn’t know that you couldn’t seem to sleep alone. That you still can’t sleep alone.
Natalie interrupts your racing thoughts, moving to stand in front of your face, blocking your view of David. Her eyes ran across your face, giving you a sympathetic knowing glance. “Y/n” her hand slipped into yours, “come sit with us.” You nod and smile, sliding off the chair.
Walking over to the couch where people were beginning to settle, David caught your gaze again.
“Hey, Y/N.” He smiled at you, patting the open space next to him. You felt something strange in your stomach twist, something like butterflies leaving their cocoons.
You sink into the couch at last, feeling your muscles relax into the plush cushions, the undeniable heat from David radiating from his arm to yours, from his thighs to yours.
“Any of y’all wanna head to Saddle?” Zane asked the group, getting a mixed response of either very enthusiastic yes’s or very uninterested no’s. The group begins to disperse, with Todd, Zane, Heath, Mariah and Natalie scrambling to find their belongings.
You hadn’t noticed but David had leaned closer to you, gently speaking into your ear. “Do you want to go with them or do you want to crash on the couch?”
Apparently your exhaustion was obvious to him, as your eyelids hung low. You sat up further against the cushions.
“Oh no, Dave if you want to go with them that’s fine, I’ll just head home—“
“No—I” He interrupted you. “I want to stay with-I want to stay home.” He ended with a halfhearted yawn. He lifted his arm to rest on the back of the couch behind you, and you tilted back into his arm, rolling your head to the side to properly look at him.
“Yeah. I’ll stay.” He smiled widely, his eyes searching your face as he dropped his hand from the couch to encircle your shoulders, squeezing you to him.
“Yes! Sleepover!!” He cheered as you giggled in his tight grasp.
“Dave please, I would love some air.” He laughed back, releasing his tight grip on you. Your shoulders were warm and so were your cheeks as you realized he left his arm to drape around you.
You weren’t sure why now your body decided to get flustered from his touch. You could feel your face and body grow hotter.
“Alright, I’m gonna take these drunk children to the bar now, are you guys coming? Y/N, do you need a ride home?” Jeff asked David and I from where he stood by the pool table, the rest of the group bubbling and shoving each other out the door. “No thanks Jeff, I’m good.” I answered, with David echoing the same.
Everyone filed out of the house, yelling assorted goodbyes as Nat yelled for David to remember to lock the door. All that was left was David, myself, and an abundance of silence.
“Oh goodness, poor Jeff” you started through tired giggles, still being able to hear Zane screeching from outside. David laughed in agreement, standing up with you to gather the few empty beer bottles that remained on the table. “Oh by the way,” David began, leaning his back against the pool table, “if you want to change, there’s a big box in Nat’s room. New stuff from Fanjoy.”
You were already walking towards her room as he spoke, you turned back to face him. Your stomach was clenching again. He looked the same as he always did, adorned in a black sweatshirt and sweats with a sleepy smile on his face. From beneath his hood messy brown hair peaked through and it almost hurt you to not turn around and tuck back the strands. You smiled wide, singing back at him, “Be right back.”
The night with David continued on like so many had before. You two tucked on the corner of the white couch, legs sprawled in front as a Marvel movie played on the TV. Your snacks had been long finished, your eyes shut as your cheek pressed up against the side of David’s rib cage. You felt safe. His warmth was running through your bones, the faint smell of him surrounding you fully.
The gentle sleep you had fallen into didn’t last long as David began to shift next to you. You felt as his leg snake out from where yours had laid on top of his. Your heart was dropping as you felt his arm raise from you, his body skillfully replacing a pillow beneath you. You felt him shuffle to the kitchen and you opened your eyes to see what he was doing. He grabbed two water bottles and walked back to where you were, your eyes snapping shut again.
As he moved around you, spreading out the blanket and placing a water bottle on the table, you focused on keeping your breathing even. He had stopped moving, but he hadn’t left. You could feel him looking at you; you could feel him close to you. Finally you felt his fingers ghost over your face, his hand resting in your hair as you felt him lean down to you.
Your stomach was burning, your thoughts were racing as he neared you. You didn’t want him to leave you tonight, you didn’t want him to kiss you goodnight—to kiss you goodbye. Your face and body was burning as his lips just barely pressed against your forehead. The butterflies were surely awake now. You felt him rise from you and before you could stop it, your eyes shot open.
He froze above you, still hovering but now adorned in a terrified and embarrassed expression. You stared at his face, the glow from the neon lights in the house casting pink and white light across his cheeks. His eyes dark as he waited for you to react.
You sat up slowly and he leaned back , falling to sit on the edge of the table in front of you. He seemed to open his mouth to talk but he didn’t have to the words to explain his actions.
You reach forward and David almost flinches. Your fingers skim his cheekbones before brushing into his hair, tentatively remaining at the base of his neck.
“Dave,” you whispered. You weren’t sure if that was a question, or a warning, but you knew what you needed now. Leaning forward, your nose brushed his, your breaths mingling as your eyes slipped from his down to his lips. You wanted to taste them, you wanted to feel them against yours. So you took the leap, your lips fitting between his, and you felt David take a sharp inhale. After a moment he pushed back against you, moving slowly, lifting his hand to hold the underside of your jaw. As you pulled away, his thumb brushed upwards, swiping along your bottom lip.
You looked up at him, his eyes roaming your face for answers and you only had one. “I—I don’t want to be alone.” And that was enough. He understood, like he always did. With no words left to say, he nodded. He slipped his hand into yours and pressed his lips against your forehead, no longer just a lingering graze. He led to you to his room where you crawled into the safety of the covers and his awaiting arms. His nose was buried in your hair and you heard him whisper your name. With your eyes gently closing, you hummed back to let him know you heard.
His arm slipped lower around your waist, pulling you entirely into his embrace. His voice had become a raspy whisper, already coated in sleep, “I’ll never let you be alone.”

HAPPPYYY BOKAY THURSDAYYYYYY!!!!!!!! *que air horns* Anyways would you like to write some 80’s AU Bokay head cannons?? Like how you first met??
TYSM FOR THE ASK BB!! i’m sorry it took so long for me to get to it! this ended up being,, WAY longer than i anticipated? i just went off on one idea so this is less general hcs and kinda how we met and got together! also i made a moodboard for no reason?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OK SO this is a college/uni bokay late 80s/early 90s au!!
bo is there on a sports scholarship (likely american football or maybe rugby) and also part of one of the frats on campus!!
so he’s not trying as hard as he could be on the academics side
THIS ISNT BC HES NOT SMART
i know a lot of ppl don’t see bo as smart BUT HE IS
he’s just focusing on other things and using his smarts to plan the best parties that campus has ever seen
so as a result of his scholarship, he has to keep his grades up
unfortunately, he’s slipping in a couple of his classes and gets told he needs to find a tutor and that’s where i come in!!
i work at the academic success center (i actually did do this in college!) and so he’s one of the students that i get assigned to work w
our tutoring sessions consist of a lot of him semi flirting but also blushing?
he’s embarrassed bc he’s here to get help even tho he could have done the work he’s just kinda lazy and gets distracted when there’s a million other things on his plate
like practice and workouts and training and the ton of frat events he attends
so the flirting is a lot of “you look different today, did you get a haircut or something?” “actually i slept like 3 hours thanks for noticing” and then awkward silences
bc im over here thinking ‘WHAT THE FUCK THIS GUY IS SO HOT HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FOCUS ON SPANISH LITERATURE WHEN HE LOOKS LIKE THAT AHHHH’
at least at first?? but then he does all this cute stuff during tutoring sessions like chewing on the end of his pencil or doodling little notes in the margins of his books, or using cute photos of his family back home as a bookmark
and then it goes from just appreciating him as eye candy to ‘well shit i kinda wanna love him forever’
we go on with tutoring for a while, but eventually bo’s grades pick up and he doesn’t need the appointments anymore
both of us are a little too shy and awkward to say anything on the last session so we both go home at the end just kicking ourselves for not asking for a phone number or to meet up or anything
we don’t see each other for a while
or at least bo doesn’t see me for a while
i go to all of his home games and cheer him on but he doesn’t know bc i like to sit at the top and leave before the crowd heads out
but he’s always searching the crowd at games, trying to see if i’m there, and feeling a pit in his stomach whenever he sweeps the crowd and doesn’t immediately see me
one night some months later, after the season has ended, i’m waking back to my dorm through greek row bc i’m a slut for architecture and none other than bo is walking out of one of the large building wearing a toga, a crown of poorly painted gold leaves around his head, his face flushed, and a huge grin on his face
i stop in my tracks momentarily at the sight, wondering if i’ve actually passed out in the library and am dreaming
but then bo’s voice calling my name is ringing through the sounds of the party drifting through the open doorway behind him and he’s bounding over, the grin on his face growing
as he gets closer, i see the flush in his face and the slight stumble in his step and brace myself for impact as he crashes into me for a hug, his arms wrapping around my waist and lifting me up
“uh bo???” i’m blushing and trying to free myself from his grip ok i’m not trying that hard WHO WOULDNT WANNA BE IN HIS ARMS
but he’s just grinning and laughing before setting me down and grabbing my hand, pulling me into the brightly lit doorway and up the stairs of the house
“i’ve been kicking myself for not asking you out ages ago so let’s go out now!! we could get burgers or just walk around the city or get ice cream or go skinny dipping or —“ he cuts himself off, looking back at me with wide eyes as his smile drops for a moment while he lets go of my hand
“oh my god i mean if you want to of course i’m so sorry this probably seems so creepy and pushy —“ he babbles on, his facial expression now one of panic instead of excitement
i just laugh, still kind of thinking that i’m dreaming, and reassure him with a squeeze of his hand and a small smile, “bo no that all sounds amazing, i’d love to. i was hoping we’d run into each other too”
at this, his grin returns to his face as he continues bounding up the stairs and down a hall, before pulling me into a bedroom
“aren’t we moving kinda fast?” i tease him as i look around the incredibly chaotic room
bo turns around with a shocked look on his face before it melts into a grin and a hearty laugh as he sees the teasing look on my face
“i’m just getting changed! can’t go out on the town in a toga,” he calls over his shoulder as he walks to the closer. “don’t look,” he turns around and waffles his eyebrows at me with a grin, before pulling out a shirt and some jeans
as he gets changed, i turn around and look around the the room, not failing to notice the sticky notes littering his desk, little messages and reminders that i’d written for him during our tutoring sessions
i feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to see bo, eyes excited and face still slightly flushed, but now fully dressed
he sees me eyeing the sticky notes on his desk and blushes even more, a hand going to rub at his neck before he’s laughing and grabbing one, looking at it affectionately before sticking it back down
“they help me stay focused, you know? remind me that i should be working hard. you really helped me a lot”
before i can respond, he’s grabbing my hand and pulling me down the stairs, out the door, and into the fresh night air
we walk around the city, getting to know each other better over burgers before getting ice cream and MAYBE SKINNY DIPPING IDK 👀
at the end of the night, we head back to my dorm, deciding to watch a movie and since “it’s close enough, and we might as well stay up to watch the sunrise”
we end up putting on a movie, something fun and light like hercules, and cuddle up on the couch, falling asleep just before the sun rises
+++
THE WAY I COULD HAVE KEPT WRITING I-- IM SORRY THIS GOT SO LONG AHHH
tysm for requesting this bb!! i rly didn’t think i’d be able to write much bc i don’t rly “get” decades aus? i think it’s bc there aren’t many POC in media from the 80s and 90s and so it’s hard to picture for me! but N E WAYS, this was my best attempt!! it was a lot of fun to write once i got into the mindset!! and thank yall for reading if you got this far?? But You Can Never Leave [Chapter 12: The Mirror]
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi y’all!! Please enjoy, this is a long one. We’re getting into the exciting stuff now, so I’ll be putting all my creative energy into BYCNL and will hopefully finish up the series within the next month. Thank you so much for your love and support! Each and every reblog/message/comment makes me smile and means the absolute world to me! 💜
Chapter summary: John gets a rap sheet, Roger gets defensive, Y/N gets suspicious, News Of The World gets a headline.
This series is a work of fiction, and is (very) loosely inspired by real people and events. Absolutely no offense is meant to actual Queen or their families.
Song inspiration: Hotel California by The Eagles.
Chapter warnings: Language, drugs, babies, drama, angst.
Chapter list (and all my writing) available HERE

Please yell at me if I forget to tag you! :)
You’re not late. You’re never late.
And at first that’s okay, it’s more than okay, it’s a relief; because it was too soon to have a baby anyway, less than a year into a supposedly meaningless marriage, a marriage you and Roger never even speak of, a marriage that might have never happened at all—might only exist as a particularly vivid and pleasant dream—if it wasn’t for your freshly-minted British citizenship. At first you greeted each dark, fruitless stain of blood with a casual ruefulness—oh well, one more month of freedom, you would think, smiling a little, worrying not very much at all—content to let that milestone trophy of womanhood, of life, lay undusted and unclaimed in the cluttered pit of your mental oak trunk with a tarnished gold latch shaped like a lion’s jaw.
After four months, you start to notice things. You notice the way Chrissie’s twins have small willow-green eyes that turn down in the corners, just like Brian does; you notice how John’s children have his downy hair and that innate sort of reticence that some people mistake for banality; you notice all those pretty, anonymous young women pushing strollers through the blossoming summer foliage of Hyde Park. You notice the way Roger grins and waves at babies when you see them in airports or hotel lobbies, dazzles them like he dazzles very nearly everybody, like he still dazzles you. You notice a longing buried in your bones that you hadn’t known existed.
After six months, you are no longer casually rueful. You start ignoring the calendar, as if not noticing you’re due could stop the bleeding from coming at all, like how you’re not supposed to stare at the clock if you want time to pass faster. You start watching what you’re eating, trying to get more sleep, opening all the windows when Roger smokes as he flips through fashion and music magazines with crafty little snickers, flashing those pointy canine teeth you once assumed your children would have.
And now, after nine months—as the world hurtles towards the conclusion of the brisk October of 1977—you have begun to worry; because maybe this thing, this thing that everyone accepts as a guaranteed feature of the all-inclusive package of the human experience, isn’t something you get to have at all. Roger doesn’t say anything, doesn’t ask you about it. He is as he always is: sunlight and joy and heat and raw kinetic energy. But sometimes Roger’s huge blue eyes—those eyes you fell in love with, those eyes that convinced you to follow Queen to London, to stardom, to thunderous stadiums all over the world—go vacant as he gazes out into the horizon, as the sun sets over the garden of the Surrey house, as his face is lit up in gold and amber and celestial fury like the wildfire his soul is made of.
And you’ve begun to worry about him, too.
~~~~~~~~~~
The phone rings from the nightstand. The shrill clanging, like hail on glass, makes you wince beneath the tangle of blankets. Your hand fumbles out into cool night air, which pours in from the open bedroom window.
Where’s Roger?
Then you remember his hushed voice, his bleached hair tickling your cheek, his lips pressed to your temple: Hey baby. I gotta go jam with some people. Grab a drink or two. You sleep, I’ll be back by morning.
Sure, okay, fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. One of those infinite casualties of fame.
You haul the phone to your ear. “Hello...?”
“Hello darling, are you busy?”
“Well, it’s 2:39 a.m., Fred. So not very.”
“Perfect. I need you to go post bail for John.”
You wrench yourself upright, rubbing your eyes with your free hand. “What?!”
“He was drunk driving and backed into a cop car, pure genius. I’m rather indisposed myself at the moment, and of course Veronica can’t know. And you’re so good with him, dear.”
Your feet have already swung off the bed and onto the plush white carpet. You wonder what Freddie is ‘indisposed’ with; there are so many possibilities these days. “And you know about this...because...?”
“He used his phone call on me, darling. I don’t think he wanted to bother you. I suspect he’s a bit mortified.”
“Yeah, well, he should be.” You sigh and start pawing through the safe in the bedroom closet, the spiraled phone cord pulled taunt. Hundred-pound notes shuffle weightlessly between your fingers. You remember when Queen had no money at all, when you and Roger shared a pitiful—dodgy, you amend—one-bedroom flat, when you had to assemble each bouquet and tie each ribbon for John’s wedding by hand; and you’re shocked by the nostalgia that hits you in the gut like brass knuckles. “Sure, I’ll go get him. Just tell me where he is and how much he’ll owe me.”
John is slumped on the floor of the jail cell, alone and sweated and miserable. His hair is in complete disarray. He peers up at you through the iron bars with red, swollen, unfocused eyes.
“Hey,” you say quietly, smiling although you know you shouldn’t be.
He covers his face with both hands and moans. “I didn’t want you to see me like this.”
“Too late. Freddie asked me to come get you, he was drunk or high or in the middle of an orgy or something. You are the worst drunk driver in the world, just so you’re aware. You are obviously not cut out for a life of crime.”
“So I’ve gathered.” He swipes at the strands of hair stuck to his forehead with the back of his hand, bites his lower lip, shakes his head with that thousand-yard stare that says: How the fuck did I get here?
You drop down to your knees to meet him at his level. The concrete floor is filthy, spotted with grime and dust and crushed insects and smears of what might be blood. “What’s going on, John?” you ask gently.
“I can’t keep doing this,” he murmurs. “It’s okay when we’re on tour. When we’re on tour I’m preoccupied and exhausted and too high on the rush to think about it too much. I’m numb. Mostly. But then I come home and it’s...” He glowers, balls his hands into fists, beats them clumsily against his thighs. “It’s this relentless fucking cycle of feeling dissatisfied and guilty and inadequate. A disappointment of a husband. A failure of a father. And it’s inescapable.”
“Well, the constant pregnancy situation probably doesn’t help.” Veronica is expecting their third child in February.
He waves a hand dismissively, rolls his eyes. “It’s part of the thing. The ‘being a good husband’ thing. I can’t fix that. Birth control is a sin or whatever. Jesus is too busy pissing himself over that to care about starving kids in the Soviet Union, I guess.”
“That’s a cheerful prospect.”
“Sorry.”
“No, please, by all means. Throw off all your baggage, I can take it.”
Now he smirks, just faintly. “That’s what we’ve always done for each other, right?”
“We’ll be back on tour in a few weeks, John.” And that was true; the News Of The World Tour was scheduled to begin on November 11th in Portland, Maine. The band would spend the 12th in Boston and join your parents for dinner at the Queen Anne-style house at the intersection of Apple and Arcadia that you grew up in.
He whispers forlornly: “I can’t run from this forever.”
“You might have to. I’d love to know what Slavic Jesus has to say about divorce.”
John coughs out a surprised laugh. “Thank you. I needed that.”
“Come on. I posted your bail. I won’t tell Roger if you won’t. You can put the extra five thousand pounds in your ‘fake my own death and go live on a tropical island’ fund instead of paying us back.” You’re not serious, and John knows that; he would never abandon his children, even if they weren’t old enough to really remember him yet. But it has the desired effect, which of course is lifting the mood, making John divulge that rare and beautiful smile.
“I’m a wreck. I can’t go home like this. It’d be worse than not coming home at all.”
“I’m happy to offer you one of our five superfluous bedrooms.”
“Okay,” John sighs, clutching the bars of his jail cell and dragging himself to his feet. “I’m so sorry. I owe you for this, I really do.”
“No,” you reply, grinning. “Just find a way to send me the coordinates so I can visit you on your secret tropical island once in a while.”
You drive John home to the Surrey house, get him set up in the spare bedroom with the blue-grey wallpaper and blankets patterned with seahorses, give him a stack of Roger’s clean clothes, lay out fresh towels and a tray of water and cookies—biscuits, you reprimand yourself—for him. He’s mostly sober now, which makes you feel somewhat better; still, you are aware that you hate the thought of leaving him alone, even if he’s only a few walls away.
“Thank you,” he says as you stand in the doorway, his face meditative, his hands in the pockets of his leather coat.
“Of course.”
“You’re a good friend. The best, actually.”
“You’re a good man. You don’t always know it, but you are.”
John just stares at you with an expression you can’t read. Like the ocean: always mysterious, always profound. “Goodnight,” he says after a while.
“Goodnight, John.”
As you pull the bedroom door shut, you hear erratic thumps coming up the staircase. Roger stumbles into the upstairs hallway, singing under his breath and drumming the air with invisible drumsticks, and holds out his arms when he sees you. He’s wearing his dark green suit, an unraveling tie, one sparkling pink Converse, his prescription sunglasses tangled in his hair and forgotten. His eyes are effervescent, flighty, almost manic.
“Hey, love of my life!” he cries, comically loud. “What are you doing up?!”
“Shhhhh! Your bassist partied a little too hard and needed a place to crash that wasn’t overrun with kids. He’s in the blue room.”
“Deaks? Deaks is sleeping over?!” Roger exclaims, beaming. “All my favorite people are here!”
“Yeah, but you shouldn’t bother him. He’s pretty messed up, he needs the rest. I’ll make everyone pancakes in the morning or something. Come over here, let’s get you—” But the words die in your throat as you try to tug off Roger’s suit jacket. Fine white powder sheds off the emerald velvet fabric and onto your palm. You blink at it, at the residue like crushed aspirin, like the salt they scatter on Boston roads the night before a snowfall. “What is this?”
He rips his sleeve away, conjures up a smile to throw you off the trail. To dazzle his way out of this. “Nothing.” But he knows. And he knows you know too.
“You were...snorting coke...?”
“Come on, baby, don’t be like that...” He tries to embrace you; you shove him back.
“Roger, no, this is...this is...” You shake your head, shrugging off the shock, searching for the words. You’re confused, you’re exhausted, your mind is whirling. “We’re home, Roger,” you plead, like it means something.
Has he done this before? When? How often? With who?
You should know the answers. It’s not a good sign that you don’t.
“So?” Now he’s indignant.
“So it’s not like being on tour, you’re supposed to take it easy at home, you’re supposed to be, I don’t know, relaxed and recovering and, and, and content...”
You’re not supposed to have an excuse to do all those things that destroy people.
He laughs bitterly. “What, ‘happy at home’?! When has that ever been me?”
“Rog, please, I’m not saying you can’t work all the time or drink or smoke, I’m not even saying you can’t get wasted, I’m just drawing the line at cocaine and I don’t think that’s a terribly despotic place to draw a line.”
“Oh I’m sorry, I must have missed it, when did you become too moralistic for drugs?”
“Acid is different than coke and you know it. Acid doesn’t kill people.”
He glares at you, savage, almost hateful. “You don’t get to put me in a cage.”
“I’m not being controlling or self-righteous, I’m being concerned—”
“You’re being a fucking cop, that’s what you’re being,” Roger snaps.
“What do you want me to say?! I’m a registered nurse, Roger, I’m a medical professional, it’s literally my job to keep you alive—”
“No, it’s your job to make sure we can record and tour and I need it, I can’t play without it, don’t you get that?! I fucking need it!”
Instantly, John is between you, still fully dressed and sweating Manhattans out of his pores and seething. He’s taller than Roger; surely you must have noticed that before. But if you had, you’ve since forgotten. “Roger,” he threatens in a low, unyielding voice. “Go to bed.”
Roger recoils, disoriented, then opens his mouth to protest.
“Go!” John roars, pointing towards the main bedroom. He wants to say more, you can tell, he has rage burning in him like dragonfire; and if it had been Brian or even Freddie, John would have said it. But this is Roger. And you can’t remember a time John has ever raised his voice to Roger before now.
Roger can’t wrap his brain around it either, particularly in his present condition. His eyelids flutter a few times, then he scoffs—a dismissive, derisive sound, a sound that says I don’t know what to do with this information—and staggers away. He slams the bedroom door behind him as he disappears inside.
You collapse against the nearest wall and hiss in ragged breaths through your teeth, your eyes wet and stinging, your hands trembling as you press your knuckles to your lips.
“I-I-I’m so sorry about that,” you whisper, avoiding John’s eyes.
He’s going to say something, something harsh and terrible but true. He’s finally going to tell me how stupid I was for ever thinking this could work, just like Chrissie and Freddie and Brian. He’s going to tell me I deserve it.
Instead, John offers only this, his words flat and hollow: “Yeah. I’m sorry everyone is disappointing you tonight.”
And then he’s gone.
~~~~~~~~~~
In the morning—early afternoon, really—Roger doesn’t remember; or at least he feigns convincingly that he doesn’t. He props his feet up on the kitchen table and shovels down six pancakes and theatrically relays to you all the scandalous celebrity gossip in the News Of The World magazine with his prescription sunglasses perched bookishly on his nose. He asks you three times if you’re alright, trying to read the hesitance in your eyes, to unearth all those questions that are taking up a permanent residence there. You smile and nod, sip your tea, watch the sharp autumn sunshine as it streams in through the windows and bathes Roger in luminescence that seems so benignly interminable in the light of day. And when you peer into the bedroom with seahorse-patterned blankets and walls the color of cold rain, John has vanished; but the air is heavy with the scent of a litany of cigarettes and there’s a handwritten note left on one pillow.
Thanks for everything. Hang tough, as the Yanks say. An island getaway awaits you.
~ World’s Worst Drunk Driver
At 3 p.m., John calls and asks if the Taylors would be interested in an outing to the park while he gives Veronica a few hours alone to catch up on housework without the kids. His tone is light, casual, harmless; but you suspect he’s checking in on you.
“Of course we’re interested!” Roger says, snatching his ostentatious fur coat off the back of his chair. “Baby, love of my life, go get some cash from the safe so we can buy the kids ice cream.”
Incidentally, there’s not much cash left in the safe; but you find a ten-pound note in your wallet for the ice cream man and make a mental note to run to the bank on Monday.
Hyde Park in October isn’t so different than Boston. The leaves above are a kaleidoscope of sunstone and rubies and jasper and jade, crisping and curling around their serrated edges, drifting listlessly onto pavement paths to be crushed beneath rushing feet; the roots of the trees are centuries deep. Chrissie is walking laps around the pond as she pushes the twins’ stroller; Evelyn is a fairly good sleeper, but Theodore—Teddy to his closest confidants, of which you are one—is an anxious baby and prone to whining. He’s definitely Brian’s son, you often find yourself thinking with an affectionate smirk. John’s ten-month-old daughter Anna is nestled in your arms in a semi-conscious state, having thoroughly exhausted herself by painting her face with chocolate ice cream and thereafter enduring an impromptu bath and wardrobe change in a public restroom.
Laszlo, two years old and with a mop of auburn curls, trots by the edge of the pond as Roger grips his tiny hand, periodically crouches down beside him, grins hugely and points out swans and fish darting through the dark rippling water. Laszlo shrieks with laughter and tries to steal Roger’s sunglasses, which glint in the sunlight like black mirrors.
“So your kid’s a convict too,” you say to John.
“Gotta train them when they’re still small and good for shimmying through dog doors and such.”
“How are you feeling?”
“Extremely hungover, but I’m trying not to show it.”
“You’re doing a good job, I wouldn’t have known.”
“Excellent. I don’t think Veronica noticed. She was very curious about how I ended up in a pair of Roger’s skintight leopard-print pants, though.”
You chuckle, glimpsing down at Anna, rocking her a little as her eyes flitter open and then close again. You and John are on opposite ends of a wooden park bench, your ankles crossed and resting in his lap, your hair rustling in the breeze. John peers over at you periodically, studies you like an ancient statue of Aphrodite or Perseus under a spotlight in an echoing museum, then resumes his sketching. Your smile dies as you watch Roger giggle with Laszlo, lift him high into the cool autumn air, trumpet mock airplane noises in that high, raspy voice.
“Come on,” John prompts, nudging your boots. “I’ll take the baggage if you’ll let me.”
No, I think I’ll keep this one to myself. But you don’t. “It’s my fault,” you say softly. It’s my fault we can’t have children.
John lifts his pencil from the page, his greyish eyes gentle. “You don’t know that.”
“Statistically, it is most likely my fault.”
“It hasn’t been that long, has it? Definitely less than a year. Sometimes these things take time.”
“They didn’t for you and Veronica.”
“Yes, well...” John frowns uneasily. “That’s not always such a blessing.”
“How helpful. You should write newspaper columns for depressed housewives. ‘Don’t worry about that infertility dear, you could have it worse, you could have a life sentence with someone you can’t fucking stand.’”
That was unkind, you think, immediately regretting it. That might have been too far.
But John doesn’t seem offended. His pencil flies over the paper as he glances over at you again. “Is that all? Please continue. I’m riveted to learn more about my alternative career path.”
“No, I think I’m done.”
“Okay. What’s your favorite flower?”
You consider that. “Roger always gets me carnations or roses...and I like them, don’t get me wrong...but I don’t know if I’d call either of those my favorite.”
“It’s not that deep a question, Miss Nightingale.”
“I’ll defer to the artist’s expertise. Surprise me.”
“I’m no artist,” John warns, but he returns to his sketching nonetheless. “I’m really sorry about last night, by the way. I was being stupid and dramatic and immature and self-pitying. ‘Midway on our life's journey, I found myself in dark woods, the right road lost,’ etcetera etcetera.”
You’re no great connoisseur of Italian literature, but you recognize those famous opening lines of the Inferno. “Can I ask you something?”
“Please do.”
“What is this fascination you have with Dante?”
“Truly?”
“Yeah.”
He smiles pensively with his eyes cast out over the pond. “I like that his story has a happy ending. That someone can start in hell and sweat out all their sins in purgatory and end up among the stars.”
You raise your eyebrows, taken back, impressed. “That’s awfully poetic.”
“It’s strange, probably,” John says, scrutinizing his drawing.
“No, really. I love it.”
“Yeah?” He’s doubtful, but he’ll allow himself to believe you if you insist.
“Yeah. And no more drunk driving or other acts of self-destruction, okay? Queen would crumble without you, John. And so would I.”
In reply, he rips the page out of his notebook and hands it over. The image is of you: so infinitely more lovely and at peace than you feel, eyes wise and contented and reflecting halos of sunlight, John’s daughter dozing in your arms.
Tucked behind your ear, etched in graphite shadows, is a calla lily.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Darling, what do I look like?” Freddie bats his eyelashes flirtatiously.
“A raccoon.”
His face screws into a grimace. “I’m supposed to be a cat.”
“Yes, I’m cognizant of that. But you look like a raccoon. Which is why people keep assuming you’re a raccoon, which is why you’re asking me now if you look like one.”
“Bloody hell,” he groans, puffs on a cigarette, fluffs his hair irritably, slurps a drink that is fizzy and sapphire blue.
“The problem is that you went with black and white. You should have dressed as a calico or something. Or a grey cat, oh, I love the chubby grey ones!”
“I’m a musician, darling, not a fucking zoologist.” He exhales a ring of smoke and meanders away.
Queen, the band’s associates, and various music industry figures are all milling around the night-draped mansion. It’s half a Halloween celebration and half a launch party for News Of The World, an album named for the tabloid that Roger both loathes and yet refuses to stop having delivered to the Surrey house. He can’t stand the thought of not being clued into the latest gossip, trends, fashion, awards, of missing any piece of what stardom has to offer. In the spirit of Halloween, Roger is dressed as a tiger, his sleeveless sequined shirt striped with orange and black. You are a veterinarian (not so far a cry from a nurse that you can’t repurpose your old uniform), John a shark (he’s taped a cardboard triangle to his back like a fin), Veronica a sea turtle in a teal dress and with a shell painted over her sizable baby bump, Brian and Chrissie both bright green aliens with antennae bobbing from their headbands. Mary is here as well—outfitted (quite appropriately) like an Enlightenment-era queen—but so is Freddie’s new boyfriend, a shy man named Anthony who is young and handsome and compliant and dressed as a mouse. Mary beams dutifully whenever Freddie is speaking to her, but her expression clouds over when he turns away. She no longer has a gold ring gleaming on her wedding finger, although she did gain an athletic blond date whom she seems largely indifferent to.
As Roger wanders through the crowd shaking hands and howling at jokes, you sip champagne by the snack table and devour an obscene amount of crab puffs. John and Veronica are chatting—unenthusiastically, from what you can tell—nearby with lamb kabobs in their grasps. John passes you a smirk every once in a while, an I’m so over this party and I know you are too smirk of commiseration, and nurses a Manhattan. Chrissie nibbles on disks of cucumber and baby carrots and not much else, which is very unlike her.
“You alright?” you ask worriedly. “You aren’t sick, are you? These crab puff things are incredible, I can’t stop eating them. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’ve had three dinners so far tonight, I’ve become a monster.”
Chrissie’s lips are a tight, humorless line. “I’m perfectly healthy, I’m just a cow.”
“Chris, honey, don’t!” You pat her shoulder reassuringly with one hand, pop another crab puff into your mouth with the other. “You’re gorgeous, and most women’s bodies change once they have babies, it’s natural!”
“Yeah, well most women aren’t married to men with infinite opportunities to upgrade.”
“Chrissie, no,” you murmur, pained; but you aren’t sure what else to say. She’s not wrong. I wish she was, but she isn’t. And she already knows that.
Dreams by Fleetwood Mac is playing from the reverberating stereo, Stevie Nicks’ sensuous, nasally voice climbing through air choked with strangers and cigarette smoke.
“Now here you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well, who am I to keep you down?”
Brian bids farewell to some record company executive he was talking to across the room and slips out onto the back porch of the house, and after a moment Chrissie follows him. You resist the temptation to eavesdrop until you can clearly hear their voices, raised and combative, through the sliding glass door. You glance to John, apprehensive.
You better go out there, he mouths, and so you do.
“Thunder only happens when it's rainin'
Players only love you when they're playin'
Say women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean, you'll know...”
Under cold October stars, Chrissie has trapped her horrified-looking husband, backed him into a fountain of a dolphin spewing an endless stream of water from its snout. “Did you think I wouldn’t listen to your own fucking album, Brian?!” She shrieks. “Who is she, huh? Who the fuck is she?!”
You grip her arm and try to lead her away. “Chrissie, babe, not here—”
“It’s Late, Brian? Yeah, it’s real fucking late in your life to still be chasing whores over in America while I’m building your family here, isn’t it?!”
“Love, please, it’s not true,” Brian attempts anemically, reaching for her.
“It is!” Chrissie rages. “It is and it always has been and I was too busy being some blind stupid idiot who loved you to see it!”
She breaks down in tears and you shove Brian away, shoo him back inside. You pitch him a fierce glare as he leaves, retreating like a kicked dog. There’s nothing you can do to fix this, you coward. Because everything she’s saying is true. Chrissie clings to you like a life raft, sobbing into your shoulder, asking what she did wrong.
“I’m sorry,” you tell her, over and over again; because that’s all there is to say.
Eventually Chrissie quiets, goes still and resigned and numb, and you help her fix her makeup and lead her back inside. You stand with her beside the snack table and swear not to leave her side until the party’s over, until the men are done celebrating yet another triumph that will take them further and further from home. Brian is nowhere to be found.
“That goddamn broodmare,” Chrissie hisses, gulping straight vodka, staring venomously at Veronica.
“Why do you hate her so much? I mean she can be dull, yeah. She’s sanctimonious and naïve and dresses like a freaking Mennonite. But she’s not horrible or anything.” And her life isn’t so perfect either.
“It’s not obvious?” Chrissie asks, her voice like a blade.
“No...?”
Chrissie’s eyes are scorching, although you’re not the person she’s furious with. You just happen to be standing in the path of the storm. “Because she’s the only one of us who’s never going to have to find out what this feels like.”
Oh, I don’t like that. I don’t like that at all.
You try to spot Roger in the teeming room. He’s over by a crackling fireplace, telling stories with dramatic sweeps of his hands, bleeding charisma like sweat, and none of that is unusual at all. One of the people he’s talking to is Dominique Beyrand, and that’s not so unusual either; Richard Branson ends up at a lot of industry events, and Dom trails him around like a shadow, nodding politely and contributing little chirps of conversation in that posh French accent.
But here’s the strange part; here’s the part you’ve never seen before.
When Roger flashes that dazzling smile of his, Dominique smiles back.
~~~~~~~~~~
Three days later, you’re steeping in a sweltering bubble bath as the phone rings downstairs. You ignore it at first, because the hot water is unraveling all the tension in your muscles and the lurking shadows in your mind, and also because the calendar is hanging right beside the phone in the kitchen and you’re quite committed to ignoring it this morning. But the phone rings again, and again, and you’re aware that it could be something serious; Roger is working on some non-Queen collaboration at a studio in downtown London, and something could have happened to him.
Especially considering his recreational preferences lately.
You scramble out of the tub, pull on a robe that sticks uncomfortably to your dripping skin, leave a path of bathwater footprints down the hallway and steps—slipping twice and clinging to the banister for dear life—before finally careening into the kitchen to snatch the phone off the wall.
“Hello?” you gasp, winded.
It’s not Roger, nor someone calling to inform you that Roger has overdosed or disappeared or vaulted down a staircase or been hit by a bus. It’s Chrissie.
“Have you seen the News Of The World yet?” she demands.
“Ummm, the album...?” Of course I’ve listened to the album. About a million times. You have a particular affinity for Spread Your Wings.
“No, not the album,” she snaps impatiently, although she kindly leaves out the you idiot addition that her tone implicates. “The magazine. Have you seen it today?”
“I was mid-bubble bath and almost broke my neck sprinting for the phone. So no.”
“Good. Don’t read a word. Don’t talk to anyone. I’m coming over. I’m gonna grab John and come right over.”
“Chris, what—?”
“Do not touch that fucking magazine!” she screams, and hangs up.
Naturally, you don’t listen.
You go to the main door of the Surrey mansion and open it. Sure enough, the new issue of News Of The World is waiting on the porch for you. You pluck it up with damp hands; the whirlpools of your fingerprints stick to the parchment.
On the front page is a photo of Roger, but he’s not alone. He’s scowling at the paparazzo snapping the picture, his face lit up by the flash, painfully and unmistakably stunning. He’s in some sort of alley or side entrance to a restaurant or club. He’s somewhere he’s trying not to be seen, which anyone could tell you is remarkable for Roger Taylor. Beside him is a woman you recognize; and although she’s looking down and trying to hide behind her shock of lustrous black hair, you can see her lips are smiling.
The headline reads: “Queen Drummer Spends Royally on London Love Nest for French Mistress.”

Joji Headcanons
(A/N):Once again, I’m back at again with these headcanon. I just have these ideas buzzing through my head about these Kengan men that it would be wrong not to write about them.
Unlike my headcanons for Wakatsuki, Gaolong(coming soon), and Cosmo(coming soon), Joji’s will be slightly shorter because Joji doesn’t have that much screen time in Omega compared to the two(that we have so far). And I also have more information to go off on the two than Joji because of the Kengan Ashura Zero manga(A few chapters of Kengan Ashura characters before the time of the tournament). But Joji’s will still be detailed like my other headcanons because his interactions with Koga and Kureshi.
Edited: Sorry I had to delete this, my tumblr glitched where I opened it the keep reading and it kept coming up as blank so I had to delete it in order to see it.
Let’s just establish something, when Joji is half-baked, he’s HALF- BAKED.
He’s not necessarily stupid and dumb, he’s just slow. Like REAL slow.
At times he will ask or say something that would either make you lose your brain cells or hurt your brain.
But he isn’t brain dead stupid, he is pretty tactical and smart in a karate match.
Similar to Wakatsuki, you kinda have to know him/ be friends with him a certain period of time before he considers feelings for you.
What I mean is you have known him for so long, people just automatically assume the two of you are together.
Deadass, Joji will just have a realization that he loves you out of nowhere. Like it pops up in his head either while he’s training or minding his business.
It’s a given that you have to vibe with him on an unearthly level. A good example people notice is how easily you two talk to each other. The air around you guys is light and holds no tension.
Or how the way the two of you check up on each other.
But there are three reactions you have when you hear what comes out of Joji’s mouth when he’s talking to you.
#1.) You give out a laugh or a smile, #2.) Your brain pauses to process what he just said and you’ve become very confuse, or #3.) You cringe (slightly or hard) and facepalm.
But it is #1.) and #2.) most of the time and you do get a kick at of what he says because of how funny or stupid it is.
It’s one of your guys own inside joke/ couple thing, it’s your own playful banter with him.
The man is blunt with almost everything he says. Not very much a “beat around the bush” type of guy. He’s like this with everyone so you get use to it over the years you know him. With you, he doesn’t tone it down, but he does become more sincere with what he says to you. But will straight up will tell you when the two of you are.
The man straight up asks you to marry him while y’all just chilling on the sofa watching what’s on the t.v.
Not much a PDA guy, don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t shy away from affection, but in pubic he’s more reserve and the best you get is either holding his hand or arm. But at home, he’ll be talking to you while his head is in your lap or chest,sometimes he’ll come up behind you, hug you and kiss you on top of your head then follows it up by saying something stupid and you bonking him the head softly.
You slightly have better relationship with Koga than Joji. This is because when Koga was younger you and Joji would take care of him. You tried your best to understand, care for, and help Koga, to which Koga is kinda grateful for you. Koga sometimes feels guilty because he went delinquent even though you and Joji helped him out. You check-up Koga once in a while to see how’s he doing. You’re the only relative Koga actually likes although you were married into the Narushima family.
The dojo treats you with high respect being married to Joji. When you come in for any reason, they always greet you with honorifics which you gotten used to.
You visit Joji during your free time, since he really hasn’t been training for any matches, or is done doing a class or spectating sparring matches, it’s nice to see your face from long hours.
Joji forgets his lunch at home so you have it to bring it to him when he’s at the dojo. When you drop by and give him his lunch, he nonchalantly says thank you to you for bringing it to him since he forgot. At times, you think he purposely “forgets” his lunch so you can visit him. But you don’t mind it at all. Sometimes you just buy lunch and bring it to him. Your timing is somehow perfect because every time you come with food he’s either just resting in the dojo or just finished one of his classes. When you two eat, you eat in pleasant silents or you ask him how he’s doing that that which ends in some playful banter.
Now when you just visit him without food, you either just chill with him in his dojo while sitting in his lap or you watch some of the sparring matches/ classes he watches over.
It’s a given you’re friends with Kureshi, or at least know him enough from him coming to spar with Joji. These two fighters vibe with each other on the fact they get themselves into fights outside of their dojo/gym.
Which brings up the fact that the Joji hasn’t been at least in a few scuffles and has return home with a few abrasions and bruises visible on him. It doesn’t bother you that much but you do voice your concerns to him, telling that getting into those small scuffles, especially when he’s with Kureshi, wouldn’t always end in his favor.
But after having a long conversation about it, he does vow to you that he will get stronger so that he not only doesn’t hurt himself but to protect you as well. Joji may not have a way with words but damn did you realize in his serious but sincere tone that he really did care about you and considerate of your and his well-being.
It’s safe to say that no one really messes with you and Joji has little to no enemies. Being the highest karate practitioner within Tokyo, people don’t normally give you a hard time or don’t want to when they hear your last name.
A common phase you say, whether it’s lighthearted or frustration, is “Goddammit Joji”.
Joji is pretty loyal, you were the one, set, and done that he never really thought about thinking about other people. You were enough for him and it never really crossed his mind about anyone.
Since then, Joji just nonchalantly say things that would fluster you or make your face warm/red. Like he’ll comment on how you look when you would sleep. Or when how your clothes really suit your body, saying it compliments certain parts of your body where he just swat your hands at him.
He deadass hit your ass and say you have a nice butt or kinda feel up your chest out of the blue. THIS ISN’T GONNA TURN NSFW, I PROMISE!
But you don’t miss that faint grin/ smirk he has on his face when he teases or does theses things to you.
He has a soft spot for you for you, you know it’s there but he barely shows it in public. Kureshi would poke fun at him/point it out to him because he can tell by Joji’s aura when he talks about you and the expression in his eyes, but again Joji doesn’t mind.
You had your moments where you’re drinking (favorite drink) and then you brain decides to remember the time Joji said something so stupid you almost choked on your drink while trying to contain your laughter.
I can imagine wanting to dote on smaller humans of himself and you after taking care of Koga when he was younger. He isn’t going to enforce the idea to you but he’ll say it once in while to make you aware.
When you tell this to people, they kinda jump the gun and assume that Joji doesn’t try in the relationship, to which you shut them down by saying that he’s in the shadows, watching over you silently from afar, and only coming out to you whenever you need him/ wants too.
Sure Joji can make your brain cells hurt and question your insanity, but he does care about you in a way only you two would understand.

One done, two more to go(for now). At this point, I would like to address that I made a new main blog @aloelotustea. It’s my account where anything non-writing goes for now on, yeah that means memes and certain doodles will be on my main. I kinda want to make this blog just about writing stuff I have for the kengan series and not over flood it with non-writing content. It doesn’t mean it won’t go away it’ll just be coming from my main blog.
Cheers, stay safe and well rested, pals!

My history with King of Prism and worries for the future
Poor Nikkanen. They made us wait TWO YEARS for the release of the full version of his ONLY song. I don’t think Prism Rush was supposed to end when it did, and the unreleased songs are more or less proof of that. (I mean what were they saving them for? I doubt the “Best Of” collection was what they originally had in mind.) I had always assumed that some time after SSS ended we’d start getting new songs on Prism Rush again and get another Prism Rush compilation CD. But that did not happen.
Did SSS not do well? I mean... having been in a sold-out theater many a time I had assumed that it did quite well. But maybe the TV ratings and/or DVD sales weren’t what they should have been. (Then again, if we’re just talking about Prism Rush, it wouldn’t matter how well SSS did or didn’t do if people didn’t spend enough money on the app to warrant releasing new songs for it.)
But that aside... it is a bit concerning to not only have Prism Rush ending, but over a year after SSS, to have nothing on the horizon in the future except for some “Best Of” discs... Maybe they’ll announce something at the Zoom show? Maybe they won’t.
It may be too early to start mourning the King of Prism series as a whole, but...
But I can’t help but feel myself starting to mourn at least my own future with it.  With no new Prism Rush content and without ability to go to in-person cheering shows, I... I just I... I feel like I may find it hard to keep as passionate as I have been in the past. And to make matters worse, I’m not going to be able to work on my translations as much as before either. When I was translating 2-3 events a month on my Prism Rush translation blog, I had no job and then like... half a job. To make a long story short recently that first job not only got upgraded to full time, but I got another job as well. So now I have a job and a half and... a lot less free time.
For a long time my main fandom has been split something like 49%/51% Love Live/King of Prism, but with the constant stream of accessible new Love Live content and lack of much of anything King of Prism I think that percentage will soon change...
And so, while feeling emotional about all this, I started mentally revisiting my favorite moments from my time in the King of Prism fandom. (It’s all stuff I’ve talked about before, but if you’d like me to dig up the post or explain the details, do let me know...)
(In somewhat chronological order-ish)
*Stepping out of Toho Cinemas and into the Bay City Nagoya Mall in early January 2016 not knowing how to process what had just happened. I’d heard people talk about how exiting to the parking lot after seeing Star Wars the first time in the 1970s was a bizarre experience. They didn’t know how to tell people the world was different now. I thought to myself that this was probably the same feeling. How could I tell people the world was sparkling now?
*Three weeks and three showings later, realizing I did not want to trade after I opened up my Shin filmstrip bonus. “I think I like him.”
*Hanging up said filmstrip and my other original theater bonuses on the wall of my apartment. “King of Prism won’t be in theaters much longer”, I thought to myself. “It was fun while it lasted.”
*The radiance exploding from me as I talked to OTHER PEOPLE who had seen King of Prism for the fIRsT tIME (a thing that did not happen for several months).
*Tokyo cheering shows back in the heyday. Looking around a giant, screaming, sold-out theater in Ikebukuro after many months had passed and realizing I was a part of something much bigger than I had realized.
*The first Animate Cafe in Kyoto. Everyone gleefully answering “Naaaani” while listening to the explanation of how the cafe worked. The miracle of getting my first, and still favorite, cafe Shin badge.
*Screaming at the Over the Rainbow event live viewing when they announced Pride the Hero. We did it. We really did it. We were actually getting the sequel I once thought was impossible.
*The midnight showing of Pride the Hero. People crying before it even started and the thunderous applause after it finished that I thought would never end. (People in Japan usually never clap after movies.)
*Music Ready Sparking. (The first concert.) The feeling of seeing SePTENTRION (long before they were called that) rising up to the stage to perform live for the first time.
*The realization that I knew all the words to Dramatic Love, despite having never sang it before. (The instrumental began during the credits at the concert and we all... just... started singing. Japanese fandoms usually never sing at concerts unless directed to.) This is probably still my favorite moment of all time in the King of Prism fandom.
*The announcement of the Prism Rush app and the golden age of the game. Biting my nails with anticipation over what would happen next in the White Day event.
*Screaming in the theater during the Rose Party 2018 event live viewing when they announced SSS. We did it. We REALLY did it this time. We got an actual anime. We reached the mainstream.
*The adventure that was reading Road to SSS for the first time on Prism Rush and trying to predict what all the duos would be only to be blindsided by completely new characters. Going from “the heck are these guys” to “MY SONS” regarding the Amamoto twins over the course of about an hour.
*Listening to everyone (not so) silently laughing, screaming, crying, and otherwise sUfFeRiNg during the non-cheering midnight premiere of SSS Part 1 and realizing I had never felt so emotionally connected to any such other large group of complete strangers before.
*Going from the Nagoya premiere straight to the SSS greeting show in Tokyo where Junta Terashima looked at me... maybe. (I’d like to think he did.)
*When the OP played for the first time during our very first SSS livestream on Rabbit and seeing y’all just typing “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” into the chat.
*In Tokyo, walking out of KFC in the POURING rain and stumbling upon SePTENTRION’s shopping street despite having completely missed it the first time. IT WAS REAL.
*Glancing over at my TV screen during our very last SSS livestream on Rabbit and having the color drain from my face when I saw Shin in his Daisuki Refrain outfit (which was not shown in theaters) for the very first time two minutes before you guys in the chat would see it, and having no idea how to contain this emotion.
*Clicking to another tab after our last SSS livestream to type my commentary post and then clicking back to see you guys collectively making the Wiki page for SePTENTRION on Rabbit.
*Prism dolphin show.
*The CLOUD of real (fake) money flying through the air during Kakeru’s prism show on the during all-night Prism Shower showing of SSS. (Also people offering to pay for young Alexander to go to the Prism King Cup.)
*The miracle moment when I finally got the livestream for the Rose Party 2019 on Stage to work on Kast despite a typhoon and an earthquake. THE PRISM SPARKLE PREVAILED. Dangerously walking back to my hostel in said typhoon and sleeping for about an hour and not even caring because I was convinced more than ever that the prism sparkle is real.
*Seeing Shota Aoi live for the first time, realizing I was looking at a literal angel, and not knowing how to contain this emotion.
*The chills during an orchestral Dramatic Love.
*A very overdue performance by my favorite boy during the Best Ten movie. It was worth the wait. Feeling I may actually be able to leave Japan with no regrets thanks to Daisuki Refrain.
*The Best Ten greeting show in Nagoya where Masashi Igarashi jumped an original Nagoya-themed prism jump.
*Finally telling Junta Terashima and Masashi Igarashi my feelings in the letters I spent days writing to put in their present boxes at the SSS live.
*Dropping all my luggage when I stumbled upon the very place, the very scaffolding under which Minato met Kouji for the first time in Shizuoka. IT WAS REAL.
*Masashi Igarashi waved to me at the end of the 2nd performance of the SSS live... maybe. (I’d like to think he did.)
*Hearing the “Naaaani” response to anything ringing through the Makuhari Messe hall before the SSS live and just thinking about how far we’ve come as a fandom and yet how much has stayed the same.
Like I mentioned earlier, I had a moment in early 2016 when I hung up all the King of Prism stuff I had on my wall and thought “It was fun while it lasted.”
It looked like this:
Tumblr media
Nowadays I have two FULL photo albums filled with concert tickets, theater bonuses, post cards, coasters, stickers... (Not to mention an entire drawer filled with my collection of Shin merch.)
Tumblr media
Everything inside is a memory of some event I went to, something I ate at a cafe, some kind of experience I had such as the ones I talked about in this post... It’s always been pretty disorganized because I was constantly getting new things all the time.
But now that I have no idea when (...or if) it will be added to, I can finally take it all out and organize it by character or something.
But I’ve been avoiding it.
Because I know when I do, there will probably be a moment where I close the cover and think to myself “It was fun while it lasted.”

Nightlight Part 2: Stress
Summary:
As it’s revealed that not everyone in the Last City is willing to accept the House of Light within their walls, tensions begin to rise. But just as things feel like they can’t get any worse...
Tumblr media
Previous Part: Here
Next Part: Coming Soon…
“Don’t get me wrong, I hate the Vex. But they have great taste in aesthetics!” Blaze said as she and the rest of Paralight hopped from platform to platform. “Watch out!” Rae yelled. “Huh- WHOA!!” Blaze skid to a halt upon seeing they had run out of platform, narrowly avoiding falling into the abyss, “That was close. Thanks, Rae.”
“Hold fast, Guardians.” Mithrax’s voice came through the comms, “I will alter the fabric of this Vex system to aid you.”
“Much obliged, Mithrax-kell.” Rae replied. “I don’t think I’ll ever not be surprised by splicers.” Blaze spoke as the small group of Guardians pushed forward, “I mean, I shouldn’t be surprised that splicers can mess with Vex stuff – they are machines after all – but it’s still impressive.”
“I know, right?” Tif beamed, “I remember when Misraaks first showed me his abilities. It’s so cool!”
“Speaking of so cool…” Blaze smirked upon spotting a Vex launch sphere before sprinting at it, letting herself be launched forward, “WHEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeee……...!!!”
Crow chuckled as he watched his fellow Awoken Hunter go soaring off into the air before face-planting onto the platform across the way, giving a thumbs up to the group shortly afterwards. “You’re crazy if you think I’ll let you have all the fun.” Crow called as he followed suit, tripping over and falling onto Blaze upon landing. “They’re idiots.” Rae laughed. “But they’re our idiots.” Adam added. “So, let’s be idiots together!” Tif finished as she flopped onto the launch pad, Adam following suit. Rae sighed with a smile as she muttered to herself, “The heroes of the system, ladies and gentlemen.”
 ~
 “Tif has a weird habit of getting piggyback rides from the enemies they’re trying to kill…”
“I mean…it works, so why change it?”
“Fair.”
“We’re here.”
Everyone transmatted down into the Botza Ruins in the Last City, which had been transformed into a camp for the House of Light refugees. Ikora had offered Mithrax and his house shelter in the city in exchange for aid in dealing with the eternal night. In the centre of the courtyard, Rae could see Mithrax and Tif discussing something with Osiris and Lakshmi-2, the latter Rae was surprised to see. Upon getting closer, Rae noticed Tif seeming uncomfortable as they stared at Lakshmi. “Lakshmi’s here. Greeeeeaaaaat…” Blaze groaned. “Is something wrong?” Crow asked. “Lakshmi and Blaze have a…unique…would ‘rivalry’ even be the right word?” Adam asked, scratching the back of his neck. “She thinks my future vision is bs.” Blaze replied, “I don’t even care about my future vision – I haven’t even gotten a vision since like…3 years ago, I think? I dunno. It’s her attitude I hate. Her whole ‘holier than thou’ mentality.”
“She’s that bad?” Crow turned to Rae. “She’s…a little much at times. And a little creepy.” Rae muttered the last part before speaking up again, “Let’s, uh…go see what’s up.”
As the four Guardians got closer, they could begin to hear the conversation.
“My people shelter beneath the Great Machine.” Mithrax began, “This is beyond simple generosity. I must thank Ikora for her gift.”
“This sanctuary is not granted by Ikora alone, but by all who live in the Last City.” Lakshmi replied before Osiris interjected, “Yes, and on their behalf, let me extend a welcome. I am Osiris, and this is Lakshmi-2, Future War Cult leader and City representative. And I believe you both are already well acquainted with Fireteam Paralight.” Osiris nodded towards the approaching Fireteam, acknowledging their presence. “My greatest appreciations to you all. The House of Light thanks you.” Mithrax thanked. “Your House can best show gratitude by keeping to itself.” Lakshmi replied harshly, “I know your assistance with the Vex will benefit us all, but not everyone in the city is so open-minded.”
“I think your voice box needs to be checked out, Lakshmi. That sounded like a threat.” Blaze said with a dead-pan expression before being elbowed by Rae, “Ow! What?! Just sayin’.” Lakshmi seemed to glare at Blaze for a brief moment before turning back to Mithrax and Tif, “You appear to be settling in. I will leave you to it.”
“If you require further help from us, you must only ask.” Osiris added. “We shall.” Tif spoke up, “There are several modifications we will need for stable Ether production.” Rae seemed surprised at Tif. It seemed like they were a completely different person. Instead of their usual relaxed posture and somewhat air-headed smile, Tif was standing up straight with their hands neatly folded behind their back and a serious expression on their face. They spoke in a polite and respectful tone which was completely different to Tif’s upbeat and peppy tone. “Submit a proposal to Ikora. She seems willing to get you anything you need.” Lakshmi replied, “I must return to the people in the city. Future War Cult has foreseen great misery for them in the days ahead and they will need an advocate. I often forget how highly those in the Tower have placed themselves.” Rae noticed Lakshmi glance at her as she said the last part before continuing, “The air is thin there. Best not to breathe too much of it.” And with that, Lakshmi transmatted out of the ruins. “If I may speak freely,” Tif began, dropping their demeanour, “She’s super creepy and kinda mean…”
“You must understand, this situation is tense for us all, young Titan.” Osiris began, “This encampment perches on the edge of decree and democracy. I hope your stay with us will be…uneventful.”
“As do we.” Tif sighed as Osiris left. “I’m just saying,” Blaze began in a hushed tone, “If you guys wanna ‘accidentally’ blow up the FWC room, I know two rogues who could make it look like-”
“Blaze!” Rae said in a warning tone as she frowned at Blaze. “Kidding! I’m kidding!”
“Sure…” Rae sighed. “Do not worry, Raekel.” Mithrax began, “My people have no intention of causing trouble while we are here. We will do all we can to aid in freeing the Last City from this eternal night.”
Rae seemed caught off guard by the title, but gave a humble smile, “I’m glad to hear it. I look forward to working together again, Mithrax-kell.”
“Don’t worry, Rae! This is an alliance House Light has wanted for a long time. We’ll show the Vanguard their trust wasn’t misplaced! Hus shan, hus den!”
“Hus shan, hus den.” Rae nodded.
‘Yeah…yeah we can do this! If we work together, we can do anything!’
 ~
 “SON. OF. A. TRAVELER. DAMN. HIVE. MAGGOT. WHY?!”
“Uhhh…is she ok?” Tif asked with a worried expression as she stood outside the meeting room aboard the Helm with the rest of the Vanguard and Paralight.
“Oh dear. Rae having a mental breakdown?”
Everyone turned to see Marcia and Drifter approaching from down the hall. “It was bound to happen sooner or later.” Drifter chuckled, folding his arms, “I’m surprised it took the kid this long. I was certain she’d break around the time Moondust found the Pyramids up on ol’ Luna.”
“Not helping, you two.” Blaze groaned. Cayde walked up to the door and gently knocked, “Sunrae? You good?”
“…”
“…”
“…no...”
“You overstressed yourself again, didn’t you?”
“…maybe…”
“Want a hug and tea?”
“…yes…”
Cayde slowly opened the door to reveal Rae sitting at the meeting room table with her head down in defeat as a concerned Ghost floated around her. “Thank the Light you’re here.” He began, “I was worried that if she kept going, I’d have to revive her. And before you ask, no I will not repeat some of the things I’ve heard over the past 15 minutes. I didn’t even know half of the words she said were words…”
“That bad, huh?”
“Lakshmi…FWC…Vex…City………heeeelp…”
“Alright, c’mere Sunrae.” Cayde sat beside her and gave her a side hug, “You gotta stop overstressin’, y’know. Otherwise, you’ll end up like Zavala, Ikora and Osiris.”
“What do you mean?” Rae looked up from where her head was resting on the table. “They kept stressin’ over stuff and now look at ‘em. They stressed so much that their hair fell out! Ikora bare held on to hers and Osiris was only able to hold onto his beard!”
“W-what…?” Rae tried to withhold a giggle as Blaze, Crow, Marcia and Drifter tried not to laugh at Ikora and Zavala’s unimpressed faces. “Yep! In fact, it’s already starting. You have bald spots riiiiiight…here!!” Cayde started messing up Rae’s short brown and plum locks. Rae couldn’t help but laugh as she struggled against Cayde’s never ending hair-tussling. “What about you then?” Rae giggled as Cayde finally began to let up, “Did you lose your hair?”
“Oh, yeah. I had absolutely be-yew-tiful golden locks that attracted all the ladies! But I got straddled with Vanguard duty and POOF! All gone!” This earned another laugh from the Stasis Vanguard.
Rae took a breath, finally calming down from both the laughing fit and her stress. Her attention was brought back to the table as a teacup was placed in front of her. But instead of Ikora, it was Marcia handing her the tea, looking to the side, “H-hey, don’t look at me like that, ‘kay? I can make tea too, y’know.” While Cayde was cheering up Rae, Marcia used that time to make tea using the set Ikora usually kept in the meeting room.
“Thanks.” Rae smiled. “W-whatever…” Marcia muttered.
 “Um…am I interruptin’ something?”
Everyone turned to see a familiar brown-haired human Hunter with a long poncho. “Azzy!!!” Tif ran and Azara and hugged her tightly, picking her up and spinning her around in the process – something that was very comical to watch since Tif was two inches shorter than Azara. “Hey, Tiffy!” Azara chuckled as she was set down by the Titan, “Hey, y’all. Long time, no see.”
“Azara? What are you doing here?” Rae asked. “Found out Tif was livin’ here with you guys. Figured I’d come say hi.”
“You…” Marcia began, a wary look in her eye, “You’re Phyonysian, aren’t you?”
“Yup. But don’t worry about it. I’m not with the others.” Azara shrugged, “Got the hell outta there quickly. Too extreme for my taste.”
“If they trust you, fine. But I got my eye on you.”
“Duly noted.”
“Well…” Marica stretched before walking towards the door, “I’ll leave you guys to your boring Vanguard stuff. I’m goin’ down to the Annex for some air. Comin’ Drifter?”
“Nah. Got some stuff to handle for a bit. Might join ya after.” Drifter replied.
“Suit yourself. See y’all. Try not to go insane from the stress.”
“No promises!” Rae yelled after her as Marcia disappeared from around the corner, Drifter following suit not long after.

 The meeting had gone on for a while now. FWC had been suspected of causing trouble for the Eliksni as damage had been caused to their encampment. Thankfully, after a lot of tension and consideration, Saint-14 declared himself an ally of the House of Light which was reassuring to Rae and Tif both. According to Tif, Saint had been told as a scary bedtime story to young Eliksni. But to the Eliksni who were present at Twilight Gap, he was a nightmare turned reality, making it somewhat relieving that he was now an ally to them. Lakshmi, on the other hand, was seeming to become more and more hostile to the Eliksni. She claims that she saw a vision that the Eliksni would bring ruin to the Last City and was trying to rally the city folk against the Vanguard.
“She’s not making our job any easier…” Rae sighed. “Agreed.” Zavala sighed, “Unfortunately, the best thing we can do is show the people that we are doing out best. We keep fighting and put the safety of the city above all else.”
“Agreed.” Ikora noticed, “In other-”
“ARGH!!!”
Out of nowhere, Blaze fell out of her chair, clutching her head in pain. “Blaze!” Crow leapt up from where he was sitting and rushed to Blaze’s side. “What’s happening?!” Tif exclaimed. “I’ve seen this before.” Firefly whimpered as she appeared hovering over Blaze, “She’s having a vision!”
“So that’s her ability…” Azara muttered. Before Rae could question what Azara meant, Blaze let out a large gasp as she sat up with a terrified expression. “What is it? What did you see?” Rae asked. Blaze looked up at Rae with horror in her eyes.
 “Marcia’s in danger.”

Exhausted - David Dobrik
Tumblr media
As soon as my feet carry me through David’s front door, I feel like I could collapse. He asked me to come over to film with everyone else, and he is someone that it is hard to say no to.
“Hey, you’re here!” Jeff cheers from the living room. Everyone else has turned and joined in to say their hellos. I can tell most people have had a few drinks at this point.
“I’m here.” I say with a yawn.
“Woah, why are you so tired? You’re still young, you shouldn’t be this tired at nine at night.” Jason says as I crash down on the couch.
“She’s been at a shoot all day long.” David answers for me knowingly.
“I started filming at six this morning and I just finished an hour ago.” I groan. I love being an actress and I should never be upset over my success and having a job that I love so much, but today was rough. It was a draining day with few breaks.
I can’t help but yawn another time making everyone laugh.
“Y/n, you should have told me you were this tired, I wouldn’t have asked you to come.” David says with a somewhat nervous edge in his voice. He’s a very caring person and even though we’ve been friends for months it still catches me a little off guard when it’s directed to me.
“I’m fine!” I roll my eyes.
I make conversation with everyone and catch up with everyone’s day. After a while everyone goes back to their crazy antics for the vlog. Zane and a few other people are fighting and running around the house, David running around after them to capture it all. I sink further into the couch, getting more and more comfortable with each second. At the same time, my eyes are getting heavier.
Natalie’s POV
David is chasing around after Zane who is throwing things at this point. He moves to catch everyone’s reaction to Zane’s outburst and hesitates for a second when his eyes land on Y/n. In the short amount of time she’s been sitting here, she’s managed to completely fall asleep and wrap herself up in one of David’s blankets. Her face is smashed into a pillow and her legs have now stretched out half on my lap.
“How is she asleep through all of this?” Carly asks, pointing to Y/n.
“Let’s prank her!” Zane slurs, running over towards her. I don’t even remember how many drinks he’s had at this point.
“No!” David holds out a hand to stop him from getting any closer to her.
David quickly sets down his camera and squats down to her level. The room is completely quiet, trying to see what David is gonna do.
“Y/n.” He whispers softly, he places a hand on her shoulder.
“Hmm?” She slowly opens her eyes
“You fell asleep.” David brushes the hair off of her forehead.
“Oh.” She sits up a little, sleep still evident in her eyes.
“Y/n, why don’t you just stay here and crash?” I ask, noticing just how tired she still is.
“Yeah, okay.” She yawns again, each time she blinks it lasts a little longer.
The guest room is covered right now in merch, boxes and boxes of free things from companies and more stuff that neither David or I wanted to deal with at the time.
“Let me just move some stuff-”
“No, I’ve got it.” David interrupts me and ushers Y/n to his room. The door shuts behind him and we all look at each other confused as to what just happened.
“Are they a thing yet?” Erin asks, looking to me for an answer.
“I don’t think so.” I shake my head. I know that David has been crushing on her for a while now. If there was actually something going on I would have to know.
“That was definitely weird.” Heath looks off where they disappeared.
After several minutes David comes back and softly shuts his door again. He walks out and picks up his camera as if nothing happened.
“What?” He asks, noticing everyone’s eyes on him.
“Bro, what are you doing?” Jeff asks with a smile on his face.
“What are you talking about?” He shrugs.
I roll my eyes at him playing dumb. He and I both know that he has had a crush on her for months.
“You so like her.” Jeff teases, “It’s so obvious, when are you gonna do something about it?.”
“No, she’s just a friend.” David defends.
“If it was anyone else that had fallen asleep you would’ve been the first person to prank her.” Heath laughs, “You aren’t that nice to any of us. You just gave up your bed for her!”
Everyone joins in the teasing and laughing.
“No, no, I have to edit all night anyway.” He shrugs, “I wouldn’t be going to bed anyway and she’s tired. She shouldn’t drive home this tired either.”
“Mhm.” I smirk.
“Whatever. You guys crash here all the time.”
“Yeah, but you make us stay in on the couch or the lovesac.”
Eventually after we all run out of things to tease him about we drop it and finish getting enough footage for David to have a vlog. Everyone slowly leaves and David grabs his laptop to start editing.
“You know, I think she likes you too.” I admit, standing up from the couch to go to bed.
His head snaps up to look at me.
“You think?” He slowly pulls off his other headphone.
“You need to talk to her about it. Everyone is catching on, and even if by some chance she doesn’t feel the same, she’s a good enough friend to not make it weird.”
I leave David to finish editing and to think it over himself while he edits and I can finally go to sleep.
Y/n POV
I hear something slam shut which successfully wakes me up. The sun is bright in the room, it takes a couple of seconds for my eyes to fully become aware of my surroundings. David’s bedroom?
I throw the blankets off of me and wander out to the living room. I don’t even remember falling asleep last night. How did I get to David’s room?
“Morning.” Natalie smiles from the kitchen. I smile and wave, still tired but becoming more awake with every second.
I lay back down on the couch, still not ready to be up and moving for the day.
“Still tired?” Natalie sits down with a cup of coffee on the other side of the couch.
“Yeah, I feel like I could sleep all day just to catch up.”
“I’ve definitely had days like that.” Natalie laughs.
“How did I end up in David’s room?” I ask, “I don’t remember falling asleep even. The last thing I remember was Zane asking everyone to go shot for shot with him.”
“Yeah, you crashed pretty early on.” Natalie smiles, “David took you to his room to sleep so no one would bug you.”
“Oh.” I can feel a warm blush creep up on my cheeks, “That was really nice of him.”
“Mhm.”
I look up and notice the smirk on her face.
“What?” I roll my eyes.
“I can’t believe it. You’re just as smitten with him as he is with you.” Natalie shakes her head in disbelief.
“What are you talking about?” I sit up fully now, sleep nowhere near on my mind now.
“You and David. You are both crushing hard on each other and neither one of you are telling the other.”
“Natalie it’s not that simple-”
“It could be.” A voice interrupts me.
I turn around to catch David standing behind me.
“Y/n, I have been crushing on you before we even met. I don’t want it to be simple between us. I want to be your boyfriend. I want you to come here to me after filming and have you stay over every night. Snuggled up, both of us exhausted because we both live this busy life. We’d be pretty great together.”
“Wow.” I smile, “I had no clue you liked me that much.”
I let out a little laugh, “But I would really like that. It would be nice to be able to come home to you.”
Natalie lets out a cheer and I stand up to meet David in a hug.
“Finally!” Natalie groans. “Zane owes me a hundred dollars.”
“You were betting on us?” I question, pulling myself away from David’s grasp slightly to look at her.
“Well yeah, everyone else knew it. We just had to wait for one of you to grow up. Or I guess David eavesdropping works too.”
I roll my eyes and lean back into David’s arms. This is not how I thought it would happen, but it’s oddly perfect. After all this time of wishing we were together, we finally are. I don’t know if I slept really well last night or if David’s touch on my body is raising electricity, but I’ve never felt more energized.
hope y’all liked it:)
