I don't know anything about X-Men but I've been playing Marvel snap recently and it's v funny to me to check the steam discussion and the top thread is someone saying cyclops was done dirty (2 b fair he's kind of a bad card 😒) and suggesting alternate powers for him that are. Summary:

I have autism so im going to make a master post of all the coming and going themes in Laika

Its literally an post-apocalyptic world. what more do i need to say.

Mentionin, theres a quest that involves human bones? Are all furries humans? Did there used to be our world humans before doom fell? Did the animals mutate? The only non-human intellect i can think of is the whales in the ocean which is a stretch.

Jacobs Cassettes - Hes gone but hes with you the whole game. You add on to what he began. Something he loved. (and Laika makes fun (?) of him for shooting the player to get the thing out but thats the only way she will open them after his death).

Spirits - on the nose here but literally talks to those who have past. She cannot move on (to the after life). People only talk to her about it when they want comfort that their loved ones are okay (She has no idea).

Laika Herself - Starts the game wanting to die. Whole existence is defined by the daughter that she was forced to have. The one she loves more than anything else. She hates the curse. She hates the idea of Puppy taking her place more. The people around her set her worth to her warrior ability. She does anything but train Puppy, which puts her clan in state of disaster. Her reason to live was because the people need her. All she does all day is what other people tell her to do. Her excuse for not finding pochiee (?) was the elder told her to do otherwise. Maya straight up tells her that she shouldn't think and just do what the elder says. Laika speaks out against the elder but still enacts thier will.

In her journal writes about how futile thier resistance is. As the game goes on she does all these fetch quest. She doesn't understand why she bothers but 'its the difference between living and survival'. She says it gives the villagers and her hope. Puppy gets kidnapped due to Laika not prioritizing her grief. (For having death be desensitized) (Puppy being sheilded from death) She drops everything to save her daughter. She sees that even the bird citizens hate thier government and are going on suicide missions (they die either way) for the prospect of peace. She laughs at them because she sees them as they want to appear - The Ultimate Unity - The Living Machine - not as the scared and whipped people they are. She kills all involved in the kidnapping. Puppy gets the fever that killed all her other daughters. Laika comes face to face with the fact she may not be immortal anymore or another loved one will die. (She takes her helmet off at this point idk why) Kills 'god' and immediately told afterwards that Puppy will live (Laika wont) the bomb drops and she jumps down after it. She accepts death somberly so her loved ones will live.

Little Moments

Ray? Rotiers? Boat Man. Lost his family to the birds. The only way he can afford to eat is to work for them. How he thinks of his father when he sees the light house. Laika telling him about the view-

Mini point: The ocean is filled with debris and filth at the coast line but when you can look out to the far horizon the water is clear. Laika sees a whale. (symbol of the beauty of the old world and how they were thought to be gone)

- Laika apologizes because he wanted to leave and she was to focused on the goal to care. He says dont be. He sees ghost whales. Laika can only imagine.

Mina- Gives Laika an invitation to her birthday. Laika is touched but before she can get her thanks out Mina asks her to give it to her brother. Bro is dead, still had a present for her. Laika gives the news and gift to Mina and is paid with silence.

Pebbles - The fucking iris and the prettiest pebble. Laika knows its impossible that Iris put it there but tells Pebble otherwise. All dialogue with them after this point is them talking about Iris.

Dominat Birds- Thier goal is to rise above the petty trials of life and death and ascend to godhood as the sole race. Lose thier humanity in the process. Also All in one government plan. (Millitary Law and God i think? i was to busy backflipping to catch that) Assimilation. The fact the birds have thier ability to sing taken away at birth.

Where do you come down on the whole "closed species" issue? Like, do you think that's valid to assert?

it honestly depends on how good the species is. ive seen so many "closed species" that are just "its a cat but with wings" or "its like a mix of these animals" or "its a dog themed around x" and its just stupid as fuck. you dont own the concept of cats with wings, you dont own hybrid species, you dont own dogs combined with sushi or fauns wearing stockings, and the fact that those concepts are "closed" is absurd to me. like. i think that if an 8 y/o could independently come up with the concept, then it shouldnt be closed.

some species that are a little more unique though, like if they have lore and anatomy not based on an already existing thing, or are differentiated enough from their inspiration to not look like that thing, those are a bit different. i think it is totally understandable to not want other people to use that species commercially. i cant start putting yoshis in my scifi graphic novel and sell merch of them bc i do not own yoshis. however i think too many closed species mods want total and complete control over personal use of those species as well. if you make a design, and sell it to someone who pays money for it, then sorry man but you no longer own that design. you sold it. its not yours anymore. you cannot control what that person uses it for, and it's ridiculous to expect otherwise. you can be pissed off about it all you want but it doesnt matter. also i think that people get way too fucking mad about people creating characters outside of the official ones like get a life lol. let them have fun. youre already selling adoptables for 300 dollars why do you care so much that some 14 y/o without access to Internet Money wants to participate. you should be proud you made something so desirable.

And do you know how artists draw? Many of them use references. Of real people. Yeah you can have bad furries, you know, like pedo furries, but the concept of furries itself cannot even be closely related to any attraction to real-world animals, let alone can this be comparable to pedophiles. The simple fact is that furry characters are, universally, anthropomorphized -- they are effectively humans with animal-like traits. They have human intellect and capabilities, they express themselves as humans do, they come from human-inspired cultures. Even if you take characters that have a LOT of animal traits -- take the ponies from MLP, or a large number of monstrous races from RPGs and fantasy -- the fact that they have so many human elements to them largely mitigates any chance of considering them animals. It just doesn't make sense to think of the ponies of MLP as animals, not when they have civilizations, language, art and culture, and even their own agriculture -- consisting of actual animals.

But obviously lolicons arent interested in being logical here lol, theyre just desperately trying to avoid criticism by saying "th-th-th-th-those people are JUST as bad as us!!!! i-i-i-i-if you think about it!!!!" which has to be the most pathetic argument anyone can cough up when theyre cornered. These people badly want to jack off to children, and when you make them acknowledge that's gross, they spasm out and defend themselves by saying "e-e-everyone's doing it!!!!"

(And never mind the fact that furry communities are infamously diligent about calling out pedos in their own ranks and subsequently ostracizing them. It's crazy to me they'd even try this argument when, by and large, all loli art explicitly portrays underage characters anyway! If you go to danbooru or pixiv right now and go to the loli tags, do you seriously think that you're just looking at adults with child-like bodies?

The worst part about that last question? So many lolicons would genuinely answer "yes." They have so badly deluded themselves that they truly do trick themselves into thinking that the 10 year-old theyre jacking off to is actually a full-grown adult that just looks like a child, and also happens to act like one, and talk like one, and also go to middle school, and is currently half-dressed in a middle school uniform while standing in their childish bedroom. Delusion runs deep: they'll deny that foot fetish art isn't actually lewd, or they'll suggest that if you can't see any genitals or nipples then it must not have erotic intent. Ok look even i realize i cant make a post like that before elaborating so as someone who has an art degree, was groomed themselves and was raised by someone who worked with teenagers who were groomed specifically for 20 years, heres my take on why tumblrs mentality towards fiction (&real degeneracy) is wrong and what you can do to help victims

Im gonna leave out the whole "fiction = reality" shit because at this point everyone knows it doesnt, they just cherry pick where to believe it does. This is not a black and white issue. Fiction may bring up something that was already there, but since none of us are shooting celebs because of books or molesting animals cause furry shit exists, its safe to say theres a line. 1000s of teen boys idealize that one dipshit from fight club. 99% grow out of it. The few that dont were already fucked up and wouldve ended up blowing some shit up either way. No, ao3 is not normalizing pedophilia and you are in no way helping victims. Youre kind of being a detriment.

Pedophiles may use fiction to groom kids, but they did that before fandom existed as well. There is no big difference between using fiction of 2 teens vs fiction of 2 adults to groom a kid cause a pedophile will either say "youre so much more mature than these fictional kids" or "youre so mature for your age you might as well be an adult, i think this fictional adult couple really represents us" and the minor will still take it as a compliment because that is the point of the action. The reason the abusers can take advantage of them is because they want that validation, for reasons listed below. The form that validation comes in doesnt matter.

Tumblrs mentality is purely focused on outrage. Its about hating the perpetrators and pretending people who arent perpetrators actually are, not about helping the victims.

People here have a wrong idea of what a relationship between a minor & pedophile looks like & how they function. People forget that while to us normal people the minors come across as victims in a horrifying situation (which they are), to the minors themselves it doesnt look anything like that. The problem with many of these relationships is not that the minors dont know what theyre doing or are doing it against their will, the problem most of the time is that they, in their minds, are active participants who choose to do this.

Pedos often actively look for kids in fragile situations. No self esteem, bad home life, severe depression. These are the reasons kids want the validation i listed before. Theyre vulnerable to it because they dont get any of it anywhere else and here theres an adult figure just giving it to them.

The point of a grooming is to give the kid validation and make the kid rely on them. To make the kid believe that the adult is the only one who understands them. Its to put the responsibility of the abusers mental wellbeing on the kids' shoulders in the kids' head. And 99% of the time kids already have a close relationship with the abuser when it gets to that point because of aforementioned validation. They create codependency.

So you know what angrily screeching "pedophile!" at any adult interacting on any level with a teenager does? It gives the abuser a reason to call themselves the victim and itll give the minor, whos likely already reluctant to be open about something an abuser does making them uncomfortable because many of them already have low self esteem and dont trust their own judgment and are scared of the consequences (for example: losing what to them is the only person that understands them) even less likely to talk about it. Because regardless of what tumblr thinks, most of these kids do not realize theyre being abused until much later. Theyre not waiting for someone to give them an out.

And no, no matter how hard you try, youre never gonna convince teens that the person theyre talking to is abusing them. Almost every single victim talks about how they hate abusers but how theirs isnt one, adults included. Theyre just misunderstood, or lonely, or really didnt mean it like that. Teens arent gonna listen to randos on the internet trying to convince them the 23yo who "relies on them for help and who is only in love with them, a 15yo, because theyre just really special and cool" is an abuser. Teens are gonna do stuff behind the back of others and lie about it because teens have a really bad case of "dont tell me what to do" syndrome.

What you CAN do to help teens:

- vote for more funding to health care, specifically mental health care. I know everyone rags on cps but cps does not take away children for no reason and will ALWAYS strife to work it out with the parents by offering personal help if possible

- strife to create a safe space for teens to talk about their experiences. Demonizing any adult interacting with children, no matter how creepy it may seem to you or me, makes the victims more reluctant to come forward. Theyre abuse victims. Adult abuse victims dont respond well to "girl youre being abused leave him!!" either. They respond a lot better to "wow dont you think he shouldnt treat you like that? Dont you think your feelings matter and hes being unfair to you?". You need to demonize the actions, not the context of the relationship because teens have already decided the context itself is fine and its usually not what they have a problem with and they wont till theyre older, no matter how hard you try to convince them.

- giving teens safe spaces to learn/talk about sex and what is or isnt right in a relationship. Most pedophiles are not stable. Theyre often codependent or manipulative or overbearing. Teach kids how to recognize these signs and that theyre not ok.

What doesnt help teens:

- taking down ao3 or yelling that some horndog on twitter drew an adult character looking too young. Taboo fiction is not linked to actual degeneracy and doesnt normalize any of it and is not a more succesful tool to help groom kids than anything else. Pretending it is will make minors less likely to seek help tho because the fear of backlash as stated above.
