Can I be real for a second? I don't think L giving a foot massage to Light was very in-character of him. Like manga!L would've totally scoffed at how pathetic anime!L appeared when he did that.
I like the rain scene bc it's really pretty (also Light MOANS bc of L? *sighs* yeah i ship lawlight) but I'm always so ?? at anime!L's behavior? The anime made L way too melancholic and y'know self-deprecating kinda guy. In contrast, manga!L (whom I love to death) is so so confident in doing what he's doing and has the time of his life during the Kira case as he's intellectually challenged (by Light) as he figures out the case little by little.
I don't get where the anime creators got the idea that L is a very sad character who cares about justice so much so that he's actually Justice itself? Manga!L enjoys solving cases. I'm not saying that L doesn't care about justice at all- just that he cares more about winning.
So, the anime creators looked at a character who cares about winning (& his own ego) than everything else and decided to... make him give a foot massage to his nemesis (surprise surprise bible symbolism featuring L as Jesus *🤮* coming up) apparently due to accepting Light's (boy's first debut as Judas) 'betrayal' how can there be betrayal when there was no trust between them in the first place and saying "It is the least I can do to atone for my sins"...
The only way I could've made a little sense of this is if L was mocking Kira with that line but the anime just had to go above & beyond to make it (L's actions) seem too genuine for that to be true. which is. so. FRUSTRATING
Manga!L wouldn't have done anything like that. Not even ironically (he'd have thought it to be below him for pretending to be accepting his defeat mockingly to Kira). Even Manga!L's not enough of a bastard to try to compare himself with Jesus (and just after knowing (god knows how) that he's going to die)- like that's too stupid omg: even for a mockery.
Does he actually think that Light would pick up on the (him as Jesus) symbolism and be like 'oh no! L is too noble like Jesus to die by my betrayal i'm such a bad judas how come i NEVER NOTICED THIS BEFORE'... and decide to spare L's life? Or embrace his inner Judas like the bad bitch he is and finish L for that godawful mockery of Jesus?
Whenever I think about Anime!Light's in-character reaction I crack up as it would be smth like 'wow this guy who graduated summa cum laude from torture university is pretending to be Jesus? lol what a real piece of work. would've expected better from you L: so pathetic lmao i hope rem kills you soon i'm so done with you rn- rip 💀'
Manga!L (if he knew he were going to die (don't know how that's possible in the anime; still we're talking about how the anime creators seem to see L as Jesus so ~anything is possible~) that is) would never go 'guess i'll die' accept his defeat offering a foot massage to his enemy and inwardly throw a pity party being all "… It'll be lonely, won't it?" GIRL you were the one going on & about how you'd EXECUTE Kira once you catch him on live tv (also saying that you'd bring Kira's head to the task force) I REALLY doubt you'd feel lonely if either one of you were to die- that (killing each other) was the point!!
Manga!L is a selfish character: he values his victory above all else so the anime making him accept defeat that easily + gracefully doesn't sit well with me.

Long as hell text post under the cut my guys
me when i wake up and talk every day about the same shit. heart <3 i could talk for days abt jin and the misogyny he writes with. it's everywhere of course lol but out of the female characters takane's like…. the most tragic, in my opinion, because she's the only female character to have absolutely 0 backstory. yes, there's Some stuff, such as her illness, but truly takane does not have that much angst surrounding her illness. everything about her is rather about haruka. takane's moment is yuukei yesterday, but yuukei yesterday is entirely about both haruka and takane and their relationship. yes it's takane's pov, but it's ultimately still about… haruka, and how she feels about him.
back then in the fandom, pre over the dimension specifically, there was a take going around i remember pretty well. "people write haruka and takane like there's nothing more to them than being in love with each other" like the only time we'd see haruka and takane specifically (in fan content), they'd just be there to be shippy. i TOTALLY agreed with this sentiment and i always have, especially because i've always been obsessed with them as characters and i was overanalyzing every little thing (when otd came out i was over the moon bc i got so much stuff right btw. if u even care)
HOWEVER. if u think about it. pre over the dimension, with the manga having covered yuukei yesterday already and the next time takane (and haruka) appear as themselves in the manga is A LOT later in volume 10 (by that time, otd was already out) (also i'll get to takane in 2nd manga route in a second), so what we had at the time, for haruka and takane's backstory, was manga&novel yuukei yesterday and what we got from the anime. if you consider this… truly, at first the only thing to go off really was. just their relationship. that was all there was to both of them, because haruka was described from takane's pov, and everything we got from takane was how she felt for haruka. that was IT. for everything else u had to read between the lines like i was doing bc 10 years later i'd still be here talking about it teehee
of course there are also the songs. takane's songs set in time before she's ene are yuukei yesterday and of course headphone actor, one of the Best kagepro songs dont even come AT ME anyways headphone actor as a song touches THE OTHER BIG THING we were offered about takane at the time. okay, she isn't JUST in love with haruka. the other thing about takane is… she wants to SURVIVE!!!
i've talked about this LOADS of times i know (about this entire thing actually but i just like talking about also it's my blog) takane gets opening eyes because she's so determined to live. ratio + this from novel 2 headphone actor
Tumblr media
which brings me to. ugh. second manga route. takane….would not…. KILL HERSELF…. second manga route WHY. we finally get to see Takane again in the manga and she's just so spectacularly NOT HERSELF it's crazy. takane since her INTRODUCTION is presented as "selfish" and how her want for attention from haruka or in general gets the best of her. that's ene. THAT'S ene!!! that's also why ENE stays with shintaro!!! it is FUNDAMENTAL to her character. we were given miserably little about her and in the most simplified way to put it, those things are: takane 1. is an attention whore<3 2. doesn't want to die. so tell me. how do you manage to get these 2 very simple things so incredibly WRONG in second manga route.
where in the world would takane get mad haruka got another friend. it makes NO sense!?!? bro haruka and shintaro ARE ALSO BEST FRIENDS IN THE MAIN ROUTE, where takane ACTUALLY HAS REASONS TO ACTIVELY REALLY DISLIKE SHINTARO, and she doesn't give a fuck that they're friends, why would she randomly care so much now when she has no reason to even dislike shintaro? so basically because she doesn't have ayano she gets jealous and wants haruka all to herself?? erm ok?? let's say that's true (it's not), even if she was jealous of shintaro her desire to be by haruka's side WILL be stronger, she would NEVER just turn around and leave. absolutely NOT. one of the stupidest things takane does is want haruka to look her way so bad she doesn't realize HE'S DYING ON HER. this bitch is so insanely self centered she would never in her life walk out on haruka just for having another friend. REAL takane walks in there with that stupid basket and be like Everyone look at me NOW<3
ok. first trait: attention whore: second manga route FAILS. second trait: doesn't want to die. wonder what second manga route will do. (looks into the camera) takane kills herself in second manga route.
dude you're crazy. you literally get EVERYTHING WRONG. it pisses me off. and not only does she kill herself but she does it because haruka DIED!?!?!?!?!? OH MY GOD. i hate it it's so fucking fake it's not HER THAT'S NOT TAKANE ENOMOTO THAT'S A SHIT CHARACTER JIN AND MAHIRO SATO DECIDED TO SUDDENLY WRITE INTO THE STORY i already put it in this post but let me attach it again
Tumblr media
dear lord. anyways i've talked about that loads of times but i needed to include it in this talk cuz. yeah. i dont even HATE the rest of second manga route i just hate how takane is written specifically but since she's everything 2 me erm. you get my thumbs down!!! anyways having acknowledged second manga route we can move on.
back to main route discussion. so takane's backstory. not super deep, especially compared to other characters. yes her backstory is basically that she's sad because her boyfriend dies. but as ene there's so much more to unpack, right?! a character who will 100% accept a HALF DEATH because she's so determined not to die, but she's also mentioned to be tirelessly looking for her body because despite everything she's got HOPE? that's SUPER interesting, i love her!! what will she- *is obsessed with shintaro* ene's obsession with shintaro again ties in with everything else, desperate for attention, finds kinship with shintaro because she (or rather, ayano) decided he's compatible with her, but most importantly, he's doing badly and she wants to help him. takane isn't a person anymore, she's alive only as a technicality, so… she spends time with shintaro! but we ignore, it's TWO YEARS. and only in one of those she is with shintaro. we tend to overlook she spends the WHOLE TIME looking for her body in that other year. of course ene talks a lot about how much she loves her power, how much she loves being ene and not having to take care of her sick body but it's a REALITY that she wants to get it back. if she really didn't want it, why would she look for it and later get back into it when she does find it? but that's in between the lines. ene's obsession with shintaro is super interesting and you KNOW i love everything we know about takane be it her obsession with shintaro or her crush on haruka. i just wish there was....more.... like everyone else gets more! like HARUKA, a damn side character, gets more!!
haruka gets so SO much, he even bonds with SETO!! he gets a really well developed friendship with shintaro, he gets a very long detailed introduction scene with ayano with funny younger mekatrio shenanigans, he gets yuukei quartet hangout moments, he gets a GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH KENJIROU (fundamental imo as he's very important both in general and haruka and takane's social circle back then) and not just all that, but super thoughtfully written feelings about his illness, views on life, wishes... and all takane's story gets is…. she's sick, but it's ok it's not deadly, HARUKA HOWEVER…. oh, HE'S the real delicate one….especially since she's in love with him ofcourse!! dont forget!! btw she's grumpy cuz of her illness. she wishes she just didn't need sleep. aaanywaaays did we mention it's not as important as haruka's illness and btw she's in love with him?
unlike haruka, takane gets no relationship with ayano, and all their interactions are talking about how in LOVE they are with haruka and shintaro. no relationship with kenjirou beyond comic relief of ugh useless ass teacher, even revealed later on she stays in the dark about kenjirou forcing them to participate in the festival ON PURPOSE and playing her like that so she would be determined and make haruka join. her dynamic to shintaro pre being ene is just pitiful, and if it wasn't for his behavior towards her shintaro would be…. erm normal?? yea he's cold to ayano but that vs the way he randomly treats takane without even knowing her. god. imagine kagepro where shintaro DIDN'T do that. he'd still be flawed and stuff like what was the need😭 like HUUHH. takane gets nothing!!!!! and if we're still on the shintaro subject, why she's the asshole for being a menace as ene? whatever. i support women's wrongs. bully him harder.
alright. later she's ene, bonds with the dan. wait!! look!! it's KANO!!! she has so much in common with him, to the point he chooses her to open up to and helps her get her body back!!! this is a GREAT character choice to pair her with and to develop a dynamic with!! uh. oh wait….. kano's just totally awful to her and then later leaves her to get her body back offscreen and on her own? (looks into the camera again)
to continue comparing haruka and takane. takane mentions grandma makes her lunch, grandpa is dead, and they're both SUPER worried about her illness. there's…. nothing about their personalities or their relationship to her. meanwhile, haruka mentions everything! he's all like my illness… when it killed my mother it was exactly when the doctors said it would. my dad is cold and a little strange and doesnt spend time at home. we have a live in helper who does chores. like that's already so much deeper!
u find out through another mention later on that takane's parents work overseas but you dont know ANYTHING else despite it being so specific. while haruka goes on about his relationship with his dad or rather lack of relationship, and there's even some stranger at home doing chores for him. and again HE GETS TO HAVE A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH KENJIROU, heavily written as a father/son dynamic. man.
anyways…. this is kinda all over the place and it's something i talk about very often but teehee. wanted to do it again. i was thinking about it again because i realized i don't tend to draw haruka in a context outside being takane's boytoy. which i don't particularly care about because i know that's not all i see him as and i do see him as a deep character of his own and i like analyzing him just as much… it's just in art specifically he's just always there to be in love with her and nothing else. and i was like damn does that suck of me?? but you know what. i dont care<3 thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Eiji fell first, Ash fell harder and we do not talk about that enough
omg I actually love this topic but I think my opinion on it is a little less common than the usual ?
I think they both fell in two stages! Both very very early on though. I also do agree that Ash fell harder sooner!
The first evidence we see of their feelings for each other is, in my opinion, actually on Ash's side!
Tumblr media
Yeah I've talked about this before and I'll probably talk about it again, but this is the first time in the series we see someone ask for Ash's consent! You can see Ash's smile where he thinks, "Well, if someone bothered to ask ..." Because no one had ever just asked before. I think Ash is already starting to develop feelings here, though he wouldn't describe them as romantic yet.
Tumblr media
Eiji first starts to fall right after, when he's drinking with Skipper. (In the anime, this is the scene where Eiji gets drunk off of a single rum and coke and starts making heart eyes at Ash.) This is also related to Eiji holding Ash's gun -- here, Eiji realizes something that he didn't realize when he first asked to hold the gun. He realizes that Ash letting him hold it was an act of trust. Of course, Eiji doesn't have the context yet for exactly why it might be rare for Ash to trust someone, or just how much Ash trusted Eiji by handing over his weapon to a perfect stranger, leaving himself unarmed in a crowded room. But he's starting to realize that Ash chose him, in some way. In the manga, Eiji even asks Skip if he admires Ash and wants to be like him, though he quickly gets embarrassed and goes back on the words.
Tumblr media
Eiji actually also takes the next step into love. Here, Skip is telling Arthur that Ash and Eiji don't even know each other (which is true) in hopes that Arthur will let Eiji go. Instead, Arthur decides to have Eiji killed if he can't be used as a bargaining chip against Ash. The second Arthur commands his men to kill Eiji, Ash surrenders his gun to Arthur -- leaving himself unarmed for Eiji's sake for a second time, this time surrounded by enemies. Eiji knows that Ash doesn't have to do this. Skipper's telling the truth: Ash and Eiji don't know each other. Look at Eiji's expression in the last panel here. He might not understand yet exactly what Ash is giving up, but he knows that it can't be good, and he knows that Ash did it for someone he just met. Eiji also knows how important that gun is to Ash now, which he didn't before. So now we have Eiji wondering: "Who's this boy who would sacrifice everything for me -- for someone who means nothing to him?"
Tumblr media
And I'm sure I don't need to talk about the most obvious moment Ash starts to fall. Eiji's "if I'm going to die, at least I'll die trying" moment, and Ash feeling his little bisexual heart skip a beat. Eiji could have saved himself here, could have just run for it and never returned. (He had good reason to!) But instead, he promises to get help for Ash and Skip, and follows through on it. Ash says it best himself later on: This is the first time someone helped him without expecting anything in return.

I’m curious about how you’d write/work with Matt’s character in that case. I rarely see anybody talk about his fanon characterization with an actual critical lense rather than people just complaining about his presence in general.
Thank you for giving me a reason to complain, I'll put it under read more:
First, I don't think Matt is an unnecessary character. I see how anime-watchers might think that considering his cut-down screentime, but manga isn't much better either. Still, I don't think he's an unneeded character. I think he was written in at a later stage of plot development and then he wasn't really properly added into the story.
Let's assume I'm dealing with the plot of DN how we know it. How I would fix the issue of Matt's written off/killed off character? I'd take what we have in the manga and amplify it, then develop his individual self a little more.
So, Matt's given a very particular role. He's Mello's right hand, practically. But we barely see it even though I do not believe Mello would let go of his first/only friend so easliy. For all the talk about how Matt was "written in so Mello isn't lonely", there's barely any fucking interaction between the two.
Changes that I would make to canon Matt:
1. Write Matt into more scenes at Wammy's.
Childhood-teenagehood are important phases in a story that spans over nearly three decades in the manga (if we count additional one-shots). Seeing more of Matt at that stage would be detrimental to his idea as a character.
2. Actually let him interact with Mello at a near-constant basis in adulthood.
They are implied to be close yet there are only so many scenes of them interacting in canon. I really fail to believe Mello wouldn't have a plan for Matt to leave the orphanage and contact him. Matt should be actively there from the beginning of Mello's arc.
3. Give him at least one-two private scenes with Near.
Near is one of the prisms through whom we learn about other characters: he narrates L, Light, Mello from perspectives that no one else has. He'd be vital to help narrate Matt, but we don't even know what he thinks about him.
4. Let him have a memory-sequence/flashback in at least one chapter where we learn how he felt about being next if Near and Mello die.
When you think about it, if not for Mello's thinking, Near would have died. Matt was next in line. I know that fandom doesn't give his intelligence credit for SOME reason, but there clearly were at least a couple dozens kids at the orphanage at the time of their stay. He was next if Near died, too. I'm actually incredibly curious to know how he felt about it, how he would have dealt with Light. Matt is so elusive, not unlike blunt Near or brash Mello - or direct L. I genuinely wonder what he would have done if he was next L. If he even wanted to.
Comment here: I know he died before them, but I think it was a kill-off. Plus, he had plenty of time to consider his chances before.
5. Maybe let the reader hear his thoughts on L. It can even be indirect, through Mello's voice.
We know that Mello sees L as an ideal to become. That Near first doesn't care much, but then grows curious about L's result-matters kind of approach. What did Matt think? Did he know about Mello's meeting with L (if we consider LABB canon)? Did he share his passions? Did he feels suspicious? Did he not care? Is he even apathetic?
6. Show the reader his individual interests outside of being Mello's assistant.
This reminds me a little bit too much of cases when a girl character is characterized primarily through being someone's girlfriend first and her own person second. This shit is tiring. We know what Mello is outside of Near. We know what Near is outside of Mello. Where the fuck is Matt's personality? Why do we know of the SPK members and the Police Department more than we know of someone in similar position? We know he's quiet and avoidant, and seems to joke to handle stress. What else?
Overall, I would add depth to him. But, this is about expanding on scarce canon. Fanon-wise, I would give him a spine. We know nothing about him in the years of Mello's absense from the picture, and he apparently did not stay in contact with Near. How did he get where he was? I doubt that Mello would carry anyone if they couldn't handle themselves, so clearly Matt's not his lap dog. He's his own character, and a damn adult too. I don't like the headcanons of him being that pathetic submissive dog that needs guidance. I think he's fine on his own.

Why I don't like these two images :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let me explain :
Chapter 58 is one of my favorites because Taneda's "murder" scene is one of the moments in the manga that I enjoy the most
And I hate how it's going to be staged in the anime
I'm only basing my opinion on two images, and maybe the day I'll see the episode I won't be disappointed, but for now I want to talk about the gaps between the anime and the manga.
///
So to begin with I hate the fact that in the anime they decided to add a chair.
That leaves us with two possible events :
> Taneda has just been stabbed by Sigma, and decides to sit on a chair afterwards. Ranpo comes
> Taneda is stabbed, Ranpo comes and decides to put Taneda on a chair
And this chair, according to me, destroys the whole angsty aspect of this scene.
Indeed in the manga, the first image we see is this :
Tumblr media
A hand trying in vain to reach the door.
Taneda lies on the ground, completely bloody, and tries to move as he can with the little strength he has.
Tumblr media
He is reduced to a maggot.
This was meant to show how cruel Sigma's act was.
No there is no chair to gently welcome Taneda, the only support Taneda could get was Ranpo and the wall.
Tumblr media
Otherwise he would have died alone on the floor (like a shit)
In the manga, in order for Taneda to speak properly to Ranpo, he had to slide on the floor to lean his back against the wall, he's slumped, tired.
Tumblr media
And here dying 😃
So yes, the fact that he fell from the chair gives a dramatic side, but why would an empty chair be planted in the middle of the room ?
The discussion between Sigma and Taneda was done standing up, as equals, at no point did Taneda sit down to talk to Sigma.
Tumblr media
When Taneda was on the floor, in pain, Sigma's first action was to look at the camera without regard for the man underneath him.
Tumblr media
Sigma wanted to kill the man, he failed, but it was still an act done in cold blood.
This scene was meant to show how much Sigma is willing to break the law in order to protect his casino, to show how ruthless he can be in a desperate situation.
///
Now let's talk about the second image :
Tumblr media
So yes, when I first saw the image I thought it was beautiful, the symbolism behind it is wonderful, but in the meantime it makes no sense.
Who drew on the wall with blood ?
It couldn't have been there before the meeting, there's no way Taneda would decide to have a meeting in a room where a murder happened.
So you're telling me that Sigma deliberately took Taneda's blood and drew on the wall?
Yeah, it's a good imagery, but there's no way Sigma would do that.
1) he doesn't have the time
2) he's not a proud criminal.
The act of stabbing Taneda was not done for fun, it was done out of pure desperation. Sigma does not brag about his failed murder.
So yes it could be painting, but I would find it even more ridiculous.
Now the meaning of the illustration :
Here Ranpo gives the impression of being a saint, a saviour who came to help Taneda.
Eyes are hidden in the wings, reminding us of his ability to be almost omniscient thanks to his super intelligence.
He gives the feeling that he is "hope", which in fact is the case.
But in the manga, Ranpo was not calm and composed, he seemed distraught.
I counted the number of times his eyes opened : 9 times
In the manga, the one who was shining was Taneda, not Ranpo.
It's Taneda who has all the information about the Book and who kindly told Ranpo to shut the fuck up while Ranpo's first instinct was to call for help.
Tumblr media
Taneda was ready to die right here, in order to give Ranpo all the necessary information.
Ranpo was not omniscient at that moment, he is an adult who just saw an authority figure close to Fukuzawa at death's door.
This scene was supposed to show the urgency of the situation, Ranpo's panic and Sigma's coldness (who also panics internally)
And if Taneda hadn't saved his strength to stay conscious, the rest of the manga could have been different.
It was Taneda's moment, which shows the impact and the importance that this man have (thanks to his ability, which I recall allows him to know the nature of an ability if it is activated near him)
///
I just needed to express my dissatisfaction ^^
I understand that in the anime they won't take 10 minutes to animate this scene, and that to mark the spirits they drew a cross on the wall and the wings + Taneda falling from his chair.
In the meantime I would have preferred something simpler, faithful to the manga.
Taneda laying of the floor half dead, and Ranpo worried.
Mostly what I like about the manga is that Taneda smiles in this situation, and I strongly hope they will do it in the anime otherwise I'll be severely disappointed 😁
That's it, that's the post ^^

This is just my opinion but… I really don't get
What's the obsession with "Bakugou is the second user." Theory. I am getting so sick of it. Especially since in my opinion it makes little to no sense?
Like I get the second user may look a little like Bakugou but there's just a lot of things I feel people are missing with that theory? And while I agree that there is SOME sort of connection, I don't think it's that they are the same person. Maybe they are blood related? Who knows.
Would I be okay if Horikoshi decided to make this theory true and Bakugou does end up being the second user? Not really but it is his story, so I'll just go along with it. Would I take this theory over him being dead? Yeah, though with a huge grain of salt, I'd much prefer him to be alive in the current time. Now here's my problem with this theory:
1- As far as I see, we never see a full colored version of the 2nd one for all users, he may just have spiky hair and totally not look anything like Bakugou otherwise. That We will never know until the anime and even then, maybe the manga would have already revealed the 2nd user's quirk or Bakugou's fate by then or even in the next chapter for all we know.
2- Where would the time Quirk even come from? It's fair to say that One for Shigaraki doesn't have a time Quirk, and if Bakugou is TRULY the 2nd user, the final quirk is OBVIOUSLY explosion. Where would the time traveling Quirk come from? Midoriya won't just manifest one or it would seem a little BS. And that in itself makes A paradox situation of sorts. Because Bakugou won't be able to go to the past, wouldn't be able to save the 1st user, wouldn't be able to meet the 3rd user and so on, the 1st user will die meaning there won't be anyone to stop all for one, no all might, no deku or any of the other OFA users. One for all wouldn't even exist. All for one will get what he wants because no one can stop him.
3- Midoriya has known Bakugou since they were kids and he has seen the vestige form of the 2nd user so many times, how do you want me to believe he didn't at least have a 'he kind of looks familiar" moment or ANYTHING that hints that, even indirectly? Even more so since Midoriya would know his Quirk, he can't just be expected to use it for the first time in the middle of a fight no less without knowing what that quirk is? Yeah sure, we readers have no clue what it is but that doesn't mean Deku doesn't.
4- Bakugou knows the importance of One for All, he knows that without it, there would be no one to stop All for one. He would know so much from the future and how much the future would be affected if the first user of all for one dies. Meanwhile the 2nd user was essentially about to strike the 1st user down and kill him, but instead he saved him. If it was Bakugou, with all the knowledge of what will happen in the future, don't you think he'd try to rescue him from the start? Unless he didn't know who he was in the beginning, he couldn't really think of killing him since again; no one would be around to stop all for one.
5- The 2nd user and how he had his back against Deku at the start and didn't approve of him. If it was the older Bakugou we knew before his redemption I'd say… yeah he would do that. Especially since he used to belittle deku all the time before but the current Bakugou? Hell no, what about all his character development he went through people? Bakugou would literally know the potential Deku has. He himself struggled to keep up with him after all. If anything, if it was Bakugou, he'd be there to provide advice for Deku knowing that he'll need it.
6- It was stated that all THREE movies are canon by Horikoshi himself, and he was heavily responsible for their production. This includes Heroes rising; so the reason Bakugou saw the vestige of all Might is simply because he HAD one for all for a short while. Heroes rising is the hardest to place but even then it's hinted by the movie as to when exactly it takes place and hinted even more in the anime by a small indirect mention of it that people probably would miss if they didn't pay enough attention to the dialogue or already know when heroes rising takes place in the timeline and because people will ask me for proof, here it is:
In episode 13 of season 5, during the mention of internships returning when it was no longer optional and all hero course students have to do it. Right after they finish discussing that, they finish that Principal Nezo says something along the lines of "About the commission's other program." And it's only directed at Aizawa. Then there's no mention of it and we skip to another scene, why? Because the other program is 1A working as heroes in the island aka what happens in Heroes Rising. The other movies literally have a filler episode dedicated to them so I think that clarifies when it takes place and the writer himself says they are canon.
7- People tend to take the relationship between Bakugou and the 2nd user too literally. Sure his hair and gauntlet have most to do with that but I feel a lot of people forget that they may just be implied to be similar. Not because they are the same person, or blood related just because they are…. Similar in personality or their unwavering strength even when facing someone dangerous. And for another big reason: To deku, Bakugou is what the 2nd user was for the 1st user, someone he looked up to and a hero.
Horikoshi may make Bakugou somehow be the 2nd user for all I know but he also uses symbolism a lot. The connection between Bakugou and the first user may be WAAY more simple than people believe it will be. Well everyone is free to make theories, they are fun and some end up being true, I am just stating why I feel this particular one feels a bit far fetched to me.
Now to answer a bigger question, is Bakugou dead for good? I for one think Bakugou will be alive for multiple reasons… though of course I cannot predict how he will live or if Horikoshi really killed him off. I think I will talk about the reasons I think he's alive in a later post though.

Anime i've Watched
Hell's Paradise (Jigokuraku):
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Sentenced to death, ninja Gabimaru the Hollow finds himself apathetic. After leading a blood-soaked life, Gabimaru believes he deserves to die. However, every attempt to execute him inexplicably fails. Finally, Sagiri Yamada Asaemon, a fledgling member of a famed executioner clan, is asked to take Gabimaru's life; yet Sagiri makes no move to kill him as requested.
Insisting that Gabimaru will not die because of his love for his wife, Sagiri instead offers him the chance to obtain a full pardon for his crimes. If he can travel to the island of Shinsekyo and obtain the Elixir of Life—which supposedly grants immortality—and bring it back for the shogun, then his freedom will be assured.
But of the many who have traveled to Shinsekyo in search of the mythical Elixir, not a single person has returned sound of mind, if at all. Though unaware of the numerous dangers ahead, Gabimaru decides to accept the offer—alongside ten other death row convicts—in hope that he and his wife may finally live in peace.

Status: Completed
My Rating: 9/10
Finished airing in 2023 with a total of 13 episodes.
Badass opening theme, moving ending theme and an amazing anime overall. It likely would have benefited from being a 24 or more episode run, even more so considering the manga is already completed but these first 13 episodes (there better be a second season) were enough to really draw me in and leave me hungry for me.
The art and animation were appealing and smooth, the fight scenes cool. My only real issue, not really an issue with the character design was the lack of nipples... it just looks silly. I have theories why it was done ranging from artist just doesn't do nipples to rating reasons and more. It really isn't an issue but I am curious if the artwork in the manga differs in this particular instance. And, if it was a rating issue I mean come onnnnnnn, the anime is incredibly violent and gory, there is literal boob groping that just seems completely unnecessary and the slime... like the fuck. My little rant there may have turned you off checking this particular anime out but i promise the ick isn't more than most of the anime bullshit you're bound to find in a shounen aimed more towards late teens or adults. Hell, in my opinion it's less ick than Chainsaw Man... though that may not be saying alot. I'll just keep digging a hole.
I am also now starting to question whether or not i've ever seen a nipple in an anime before, men or women... Surely the swimming anime had nipples right? I also wonder if saying nipple so many times is going to get this post flagged. Ahaha oh well.
Anywho, the characters were interesting and what we've seen of their backstories moving though I am interested to see if we get even deeper into them in any following seasons. I very much hope we do.
Overall I really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to more. Anime or manga, whichever comes around/ i get to first. I didn't loveee where they ended the season, but it is what it is.
Ahh be warned, not for those sensitive to gore or just straight up dark topics. Not a lighthearted anime.
