Tumgik
#if the au is for Starscream it's... yeah yes it's for him
Note
Blind starscream au, everyone forgets that he's blind until he points that out, cue the awkwardness
More blind Starscream, heck yeah. I love this mech so much, especially when he just does not give a frag.
Forgetfulness
Megatron
The first time it happened on earth, Megatron was issuing orders as usual and was looking over a map of the battlefield not recalling that Starscream was literally unable to see it.
Megatron: *pointing to the map* We will strike here! Starscream will lead the assault!
Starscream: *sarcastically* Ah yes, I can definitely see where exactly I am to attack, obviously.
Megatron: *silently sending starscream a set of coordinates over comm link instead* You have your orders, get going!
They didn't talk for a week after that incident. Megatron was too embarrassed at his blunder to even try to make amends and so just avoided the seeker.
Soundwave
As a general rule, Soundwave and Starscream don't interact. But the singular time Soundwave seemed to forget that the seeker couldn't see was something that stuck in both their memories. They had run into each other in the halls and Soundwave had suddenly stopped Starscream from continuing, gesturing to a sign that specifically pointed toward the area being off limits.
Soundwave: *gesturing with a nod and his cables toward the sign that says "keep out"*
Starscream: *irritated* Use words Soundwave. I am no psychic.
Soundwave: ...
Soundwave silently sent Starscream the warning over a comm link before walking away without a word. He would never admit his blunder to anyone.
Knockout
The Decepticon medic was in the middle of working on a Vehicon while he was gossiping with Starscream when he asked for the seeker to pass him a tool. Starscream of course gave him a look that quickly make Knockout realize his error.
Knockout: That sounds dreadful! Could you be a dear and pass me that scalpel?
Starscream: Ah yes, I will certainly pass you the small item that I can most definably see.
Knockout: ... My apologies.
They continued chatting as it nothing happened but Knockout screamed internally afterwards.
Breakdown
Normally Breakdown is very aware of Starscream's blindness and takes extra care to not mention it while still accommodating it. However on one occasion where Starscream's sensors were out of commission, he straight up forgot about the seeker's disablement.
Breakdown: *throwing a lob ball at starscream* Catch!
Starscream: *proceeds to get hit and fall flat on his face*
Breakdown: *softly* Scrap.
Breakdown went to Knockout with several scratches and a blaster burn later that day and he never forgot that moment, often having it come back to haunt him late at night.
Shockwave
Shockwave never actually forgot that Starscream was blind, he just didn't care and wanted to watch the seeker seethe while he tried to figure out how to find the thing he was asked to get.
Shockwave: Starscream, I require the third smallest beaker.
Starscream: Ah yes one moment, I will get it once I get my sight back.
Shockwave: Starscream, I require it immediately.
Starscream: *pointing to his lightless optics* How am I supposed to find it you slagger?!
Shockwave: You are resourceful, I am sure you will succeed without aid.
Starscream spent forty minutes trying to find the beaker. He never found it and resents Shockwave to this day.
Optimus Prime
It wasn't really that Optimus forgot, more like he simply used the wrong phraseology.
Optimus: Can't you see all the harm you are doing?! Starscream: No actually.
Optimus: *staring blankly for a moment* ... Allow me to rephrase. Do you not feel anything for the harm you are doing?
It was slightly awkward and Starscream has occasionally mocked Optimus for it since.
Ratchet
While doing a repair for Starscream, Ratchet temporarily forgot that Starscream literally could not see how bad his injuries were.
Ratchet: How in the pits did you do this? A gash of this size...
Starscream: It's that bad?
Ratchet: Yes! Can you not see-! Oh...
Starscream and Ratchet both coughed awkwardly after the fact and neither have spoken a word on the subject. Although on the odd occasion where Ratchet is feeling a little evil, he will exclaim something about Starscream having a bomb stuck to him during battle, temporarily causing the seeker to flail.
Arcee
Her situation was less awkward and more angering than anything else. She was in the middle of confronting Starscream for the death of Cliffjumper when she made a slight blunder.
Arcee: You killed him! Did the sight of his spark puttering out not cause you to feel any remorse!
Starscream: I didn't see it, so no.
Arcee: Why you little-!
Starscream was only barely saved from having the life beaten out of him by the team and he has since been careful around Arcee for fear of angering her further.
Bulkhead
He was in the middle of battle and trying to find a way to disorient Starscream when he messed up a bit.
Bulkhead: *tossing dirt at starscream to try and blind him* Take that!
Starscream: *unphased but a little irritated* How cute.
Bulkhead: *remembering* Oh fra-!
Simply put, he returned to base far more singed than he would have otherwise liked.
Bumblebee
While Starscream was a prisoner of the Autobots, the seeker's wings, and therefore his sight was put out of commission. And forgetting this, Bumblebee led the seeker straight into banging his helm against a doorway.
Bumblebee: *in binary* This way.
Starscream: *walks straight into the top of the doorway, hitting it with a nasty thunk* FRAG!
Bumblebee: *internally screaming at himself*
Bumblebee never forgot that particular blunder and he has since taken care with other prisoners to ensure the same thing doesn't happen twice.

Transformers au- I had this idea a bit ago of a bumblebee au it’s essentially all the bumblebees are the same bumblebee it starts with g1 bumblebee dying and waking up in cybertron recently coming from the allspark (either idw or bay verse first ) I thought about making in Optimus….but I feel like having g1 bumblebee slowly relive his life in different universes leaves more room for character growth. As bumblebee is more childish and kind….while the way this would go Optimus would already went through a lot of character growth. by the war for cybertron trilogy he’s just done and wants to stay as far away from the war as possible…what makes this funny is that after idw ,idw star screams ghost follows him between universes and now there’s two starscreams… I just love their dynamic and couldn’t keep it to just idw series and starscream will often make snarky comments about his other selves….mostly prime starscream in season three. He also talks smack about alot of the other Autobots particularly animated Sentinal whom is paying for bayverse Sentinal and idw Sentinal’s actions in the form of a ghost and a mini bot bullying him.
G1 goes pretty much the same , idw is bumblebee trying to figure out what the heck happened while slowly becoming wary of humans (why are these ones so mean?! The ones from my original timeline were nice ) becoming a ghost and being seen by only starscream will be explored more as I feel like in this he will be the first to find out. And unfortunately will still become a ghost :(.
Bayverse is bumblebee waking up in the middle of a war with starscream screaming at him to figure what the heck happened to which when bumblebee learns how to talk as he was just found as a sparkling in some rubble (I love the idea of bayverse Optimus finding Bumblebee in some rubble and adopting him really adorable) just looks at him like “yes I can see you and two this isn’t the first time this happened which just has ghostscream shouting “what do you mean?!” They still friends and the autobots just think bumblebee made an imaginary friend this arc is pretty much just Starscream or now dubbed ghostscream adjusting to being dragged along on bumblebees adventures….even though his best friend is now a sparkling heck he’s in the body of a sparkling. Yeah…the whole voice box either getting ripped out or damaged beyond repair trend has got him screaming out in fear but always to late to warn bumblebee. Magic changes to this is bumblebee being absolutely done.in the second movie he be thinking when Sam tries to convince him to go back to Optimus is ‘no please I don’t want to be dragged back into that shit again.’ He and ghostscream do eventually learn to use sign language in this. Ghostscream be seeing these decepticons just being evil for no reason and is like “atleast we had a reason what the heck?!” Ghostscream also hates the humans and will absolutely shout “Finally! We can show them a thing or to for constantly picking fight with autobots who knew if you pushed hard enough they’d fight back-oh wait I did!”
Animated has the most changes just from bumblebees personality alone. Bumblebee in this would be quiet calm, kind and diplomatic….but also an absolute menace when it comes to Sari. He would be more adept in the boot camp (which I feel in he would be dragged into) and would leave with Bulkhead when he was kicked out of the boot camp. He wouldn’t suspect Wasp for being a Decepticon spy because in IDW he was a part of spec ops. Leaving because he wanted a break from all the drama (which ghostscream wholeheartedly agrees with after the whole Bayverse drama ) only to be screaming in his head when he finds out he’s apart of Optimus’s team he now knows things will end up going to sh*t soon but he decides to enjoy a break while he can. Him being more calm despite his young age changes most of the character dynamics. (I feel like the older bot’s would think something bad happened in his sparklinghood that made him the way he is ) This would also have a heavy hit on the plot as one of the Allspark shards makes ghost scream semi-visible and able to be heard but still not able to be touched. Yea…that will be alot of explaining to do. You know that black stuff that shows Bumblebee didn’t leave his prison dimension fine and dandy that most likely killed Omega Suprime yea that shows up when he’s angry and longarm/shockwave notices that won't be good…
Primverse has ghostscream hating on Megatron even more (he followed his other self to the nemesis only to see Megatron jab a Chrystal into his spark chamber with no care on how it would effect him he is screeching his head off at how unsafe that was to bumblebee later whom started using sign language again. Cue more bullying and Unicon stating something about bumblebees weird death touch thing. I also feel during out of his head Meagtron finds out about Ghost scream. Due to Ghostscream telling him to get out of bee’s f*king head. He then reveals the other being that resides around bumblebee which then in turn allows the rest of the team to figure it out.. The kids end up asking ghostscream a lot of questions and bumblebee would translate for star scream and Raf will translate for bee. Will also cover robt and the games when I come up for ideas for this
The war for cybertron trilogy is just a bunch of misadventurss of bee and ghost scream avoiding the factions and attempting to stay neutral (then the alpha trion protocol happens and bee has another voice in his head telling him to go be Optimus’s friend which is another time of Ghostscream screaming in the background )
Cyber verse is a trip because bee losing his voice but also because wind blade is there. And bumblebee loses his memorys which the first arc of this would be ghostscream desperately trying to find out how to help him. I think it would be funny if Starscream got dragged into bees he's as well during those sections, just for the giggles of wind blades reaction. Starscream would also find out about ghost him hilarity ensues. Bumblebee probably tried a lot for the revolution to still happen but not the war. Cheetor also knows cause he can weirdly sense ghost screams spark
The new movie verse also is. a trip because bumblebees Coma Sector 7 is horrible to Bee and ghost scream knowing his ‘friend’ is alive but in a coma….he likes Charlie because they were kind and weren't like…most of the other humans. Bee has to get used to the name change till he can find a valid way to change it with weird looks on what the heck a bumblebee is. Rotb is a trip due to Mirage ( they aren't used to middle-child Mirage) and Bumblebee dying..again. This universe is going to give Ghostscream a panic attack
Earth spark is just. Bumblebee doesn't care anymore eye just wants to live with his new family in peace so whenever a Decepticon shows up around him it's more of a “you can stay at my place but if you do anything to harm my kids I will end you” :) He’s…… just indifferent at this point There's probably going to be a bit which is just Bee and the kids (and ghoatscream) hiding the Decepticons from Megs and Optimus when asked why he's doing this he just says “I agreed with a lot of the stuff the Decepticons said at the start of the war but a lot of stuff happened and I ended up siding with the Autobots and being on earth has taught me the difference between nice organisations and shady and most likely are evil ones and Ghost isas shady as they come”. He seen how most organizations treat their kind and he sees the signs in ghost. Surprisingly this makes him a lot of new friends and the kids just look at bee and find themselves agreeing with him. They eventually meet ghostscream via science experiments and ghostscream is like “you kids are cool” because he is also indifferent at this point
Might make this story to help get rid of my writers block :)

Continuity soup Gladiator AU
Miner to gladiators backstory but less bugnuts Megatron and which ever version of Optimus who was a dockworker that the Matrix fell on being forced to fight against each other as gladiators.
The two got captured because they were brawling buying time for their respective factions.
They're literally the only two cybertronians in the pits and they aren't alowed to kill each other in and out of the ring. They're a big money making draw. Damn inhibition chips. They're cooped up togeather and they're just floundering because they're only alowed to damage eachother in the ring duringbtheir fights. Sometimes they're sent out as a tag team.
Megatron grumpily teaching OP how to make a fight look good. Or how to fix a fight. Convincingly pretend an opponent has you on the ropes to give the audience their money's worth. Cause if his partner frags up he's in the same soup. And more importantly on the same quarter rations. You have plenty of other gladiators watching the lessons and practically taking notes. It's a gods damned master class.
OP's finding this helish and Megatron's finding this much less shitty that the Pits of Koan. Like a gladiatorial equivalent of a vacation if it wasn't for the forced proximity with Optimus.
Optimus finaly loses it at Megatron because how can he stand the inhibition chips. Megatron just matter-of-factly tells him compared to the slave coding he onlined with in the mines this is nothing. It's not in his processor. Just an inconvenient tazer. Optimus is so confused. This not the data he had on the Teleran. Finding out that the "drones" were 'Cons hacked to fight early in the war were actually sentients given antivirus to root out malicious code has OP in a tailspin. Megatron going from taunting and cynical to being generally shocked OP didn't actually know. Optimus is practically blue screened, while Megatron is laughing hystericaly that Optimus is a true believer in the "Freedom is the Right of All Sentient Beings," shtick. And Optimus dose have a patern that's been consistant since the begining: crackdown hard on corruption as soon as he realizes it's there. This is the point where Megatron decides to seduce Optimus to the Deceptacons and Optimus's "I Can Fix Him"-itis kicks in. It starts platonic but soon their fights have even more weird sexual tension. And philosophical debates instead of weird taunts.
The bookies are taking bets on whether or not cybertronians can bump uglies to make babies.
Meanwhile both factions are trying to get their leaders back. By the time they work out where they are they show up to discover OP and Megatron have secussfuly lead a slave revolt, escaped the planet and are co-captians of a ship full crewed by gladiators and their dependents.
Ooooo on the backstories and them being got because they were so focused on each other and ended up playing the distraction
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING, in this case they're worth too much to have one of them die during a fight or otherwise.
I've been thinking a lot about gladiators teaching each other how to rig some fights, owo yes???
Interesting dichotomy for Optimus and Megatron, Megs is not only used to this sort of rhythm but finds it easier than the first time, while Optimus feels like he's being pulled under the waves by it
The shock Optimus got is a-m-a-z-i-n-g, oh dude have you been living in blissful ignorance to the horrors of Cybertron
Because yeah
Optimus here is 100% here for freedom of all sentient beings, and this most certainly includes decepticons
SEDUCTION 100 AND OPTIMUS FALLING FOR IT HOOK LINE AND SINKER
See you get the vibe of this style of Megop!!!!
sdghjds oh the bets, hmmmm I wonder which way we're more inclined towards🤔
I feel like this was a situation where Prowl, Jazz, and Ultra Magnus were somewhat forced to work with Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave to track them down because yes please the respective high commands working together without their leaders
Of all the things that could've happened at least some mecha anticipated that those two would figure their way out of it
They just didn't anticipate the tagalongs

What would happen if ES Optimus and Megatron ended up in the Transformers Prime AU?
What are the TFP characters reaction to a seemingly nicer Megatron?
In reality ES are pretty small since they kind align with g1 size! Its not their fault tfp are stupidly big. Tfp megs i believe is like 30ft tall, KO is about 21ft in comparison. But for their sake I'll bump them up to a tfp kinda height xD we grow during dimensional travel for science reasons.
ofc Tfp Optimus knows somthing up cause they are there and takes them back depsite knowing that one is a Megatron but clearly isn't his megs.
who's sus? Rachet sus ,because rachet is rachet and that is what he do lol the prime team are weary of Megs. But it comes very clear that this Megs isn't at all like theirs. Its kinda wierd for them to talk to him but God is ot nice to have a Megatron who's not trying to kill you. I think Arcee and Racehet are sus and weary. Which Meg i think would understand he's had to deal with this hesitation by others bots for a while of think.
How do I think the bots would be less inclined to avoid ES megs. The kids ofc! And megs knows how to talk to the kids and has some good practice with Moe and Robbie. He's acutally happy the kids (looking at Ralph and Miko , and eventually Jack) come to talk to him.
Seeing his gentle nature alrund the kids when their megs wouldn't even think twice about crushing them sets everyone at Ease.
Miko is fighting for a ride in his alt mode , she's so exicted. I think its adorable.
Bee , arcee , Bulkhead and yes you too raceht come around to Megs a bit.
Optimus is already very happy to see that yes, a megs can change. And he enjoys tlaking to him and the other op.
oh God I'm now seeing that tfp seeing megs might just fuel his thoughts of "My Megatron can change, I can help him change!" No sweetheart you can't and both ES megs and op agree that their megs is CRAZY.
don't let THE MEGS. MEET. PERIOD. DO NOT. it would such an epic fight let's be real. ES megs is just utterly disgusted that this who who he is here. Who he probably could have become the damage he caused. It makes Megs angery.
Though tfp megs is also disgusted that ES would change, give up the war and join Optimus of all people. The shame ES megs feels seeing Starscream get basically beat up by Megs. (Oof megs maybe you should properly apologize to your star because YEAH IT DOENST LOOK GREAT FROM THE OUSTIDE DOES IT?)
But when comes to TFP op, its a bit harder. Cause ofc tfp op is light hearted here and there but he's a very serious individual, he very much a noble leader and we don't get to many light hearted moments because of how serious the situation is in prime. But ES is extremely more light hearted, dare I say goofy, he's an old man/dad. Some of ES jokes go over tfp head but its ok. He gentle explains and TFP learns lol
See the difference in personality is one scene.
"Hey Optimus wanna see somthing funny?"
Tfp: No (being honest and not trying to be hurtful he just don't wanna that ok, but he seriosu )
ES: Oooo! Of course ! Is it the monkey video? I love that one ! (Interested, indulges even if he may not understand, he wants to see funny meme)
Optimus is having a fun time seeing different versions of himself while Megs is reminds ...right...I'm still bad most of the time in other universes and I still have alot to work on.

Yoo.. y'all love Bullframe- so here is a low quality reference sheet, because yes.. I also have no idea why my style just went partially chibi all of a sudden in this..
Also, I'll give a little bit of information on him as well because people seem to like em
(under the cut)
Well obviously he is a Decepticon. His existence takes place in my AU Transformers Warforged [TFWF] and has a best friend named Fraightlock, now Friaghtlock isn't a Decepticon so Starscream (the Decepticon leader since Megatron is a prime now in my au) gets mad at him because he believes Fraightlock is just not "trustful" enough or could "backstab" Bullframe, but Bullframe doesn't believe it or care because they are literally the bestest of friends..
Tumblr media
Bullframe was actually originally one of my first Transformer Decepticon ocs soo hip hip hooray for the school bus!!
Tumblr media
He looked kinda ugly lmao..
But yeah- idk his personality is more built up, snarky, he likes to make out of pocket jokes and things. He has anger issues and can actually be pretty intimidating and mean sometimes.
(bro is kinda just a weird knockoff version of TFP Breakdown.. but a lil different...)

More on the TFA Scourge AU
The other Decepticons (except for Blackarachnia) just watch whenever Megatron bluescreens and goes, "Ah, yes. Drama,"
Starscream looks at Scourge and immediately knows It's Knock Out's doing. Because he's the only one who is willing to modify a civillian bot into something more warframe-like. Also, the flame decals.
Scourge is still a sweet spark, and he's more of the older brother who convinced you to do things that are outside the rules but not outright illegal.
The first time Team Prime meets Scourge they thought he's an actual Decepticon. When he sees that he's a chill bookworm mech, they relaxed.
Ratchet also knows that it's Knock Out's doing. Because who else is willing to modify a civillianframe into something that looks like a warframe.
Megatron is having a crisis because he's never been flirted with such ways. Yes, he had flirted and flirts with other bots, but the words they used are more subtle.
Scourge meanwhile is classy and holds no punches in complementing a bot he likes.
Megatron compliments his opponent's strength and their wits in fight, but Scourge just straight calls him hot without context.
Also noteworthy, Optimus worked in a library for quite some time, so his vocabulary and knowledge in various Cybertronian courting ritual is extensive.
He knows how to flirt like how bots do in Kaon.
And Vos.
Yeah, Starscream isn't safe from the flirting either. But that was only one time.
Surprisingly Starscream denied Scourge's flirting because he kinda... Already have a sparkmate.
Scourge just go ahead and compliments his strength and tactics instead. You don't flirt with a guy who already have a partner, so he keeps it somewhat platonic(?) And like a rivalry. That much is obvious.

TFA Invasive back and ready for more!
I'm gonna address it back point for point so here goes!
First, yes, the lil guy is their eldest from a litter; there were three others in it. The others are in the back with Ratchet, enjoying nap time, their eldest is just a little spoiled and prefers napping to the sound of his sire's or carrier's spark thrum. Optimus and Megatron have had a couple of broods by now, at least three and they're working on a fourth. An abandoned airfield outside of Detroit has been fully taken over as a nursery/playground area for the flight frame babies.
The cross pairings are so fun! I love the concept too in the invasive AU and it also works with how I like to smash things together. As for Bulkhead, he's got two of his own, one from Prowl and one from Bee; he carried both. Both bitties are grounder types, with one patting jeep pictures and the other staring with interest at work vans and trucks. Otherwise, he's just not that interested in producing more and is more content with being a teacher and big brother figure to the various broods. And yes, the Blitzbee babies were twins; Bee got his horns a little twisted for that but Blitz forgave him after enough pampering.
Lockdown is totally interested in another sparkling or two from Prowl, once he gets a little more settled down and has his work orders handled. Prowl and Bee only had enough interest for the one bittie but coparent rather well otherwise.
Once it's known that they're alive and on a budding colony world, Drift totally shows up to their base with a Cyberrose in his teeth (or whatever the romantic equivalent is for Cybertronians). He and Ratchet disappear for a while and eventually show up with just the one tiny little bittie. He's already got Ratchet's annoyed face down pat and with Drift's colors so there's no question about his parents at all. Ratchet also makes it very clear this is the *last one Drift*, he's serious!
Can't find Wreck-Gar? Follow the sounds of excited laughter, 9/10 you'll find him either being a bittie jungle gym or in the middle of an art class (planned or random) with a small herd of excited bitties copying what he does with random stuff.
For the Constructicons, it's a little of both? The Earth made ones are kinda just, there, helping out and eventually the Decepticon ones make their way over and like, adopt in the two newest brothers. Now, time to get to *work* on establishing a more proper base!
And actually, yeah, with Archa 7, ish. It was still Sentinel's idea to go to it, following the old reports of a downed Decepticon exploration ship that was supposed to still be full of supplies and materials for possible colonization. He had convinced the other two to come with him on the idea to see if they couldn't get a colony world started since Archa 7 sounded perfect for it. They didn't know about the spiders until they basically fell into the main nest and the events sort of still follow canon from there. Sentinel's also not so much of an asshole here; when he finds out Optimus is still alive, he commandeers the Steelhaven to go to him; he might be panic puking into a bag the whole time at the idea of going to another organic world but he's still on his way!
Oh actually, to me Sumdac still does have his tech empire. Instead of harvesting Megatron's ruined body for tech, here he came across one of the energon convertors and pulled it apart out of curiosity. Prowl caught him at it and chased him away, but Isaac still kept coming back and eventually, slowly they built up something of a friendship between himself and the team. Especially when he helped them get supplies in exchange for examples of their tech or being allowed to examine it under careful watch. This allowed him to still become a tech giant, just in a different way. Coin flip on if Sari is here though, I'm honestly not decided on that.
Oh Starscream has both. The mountain nest is for when the bitties are still in eggs or fresh hatched, so they can be kept safe and hidden. When they're big enough to be able to start defending themselves, he moves them to the tower nest so they can start adapting to the outside world more.
Yes to all of that with Strika and Lugnut. Just, yes to all of it.
OOooh yes, they're here and ready to mingle! Megatron might have also put the call out to any interested Decepticons about the new colony world and who would be the first to answer? Why, no other than the DJD of course!
Answers and responses again under the cut because it’s a long one!
1. I love that for them. I love them having 3-eventually-4 broods of little babies. Megatron’s got a whole ass helicopter flock and it’s all his own bitties :’)
2. I love all of this, all of it. Coparenting is so good—I love that Cybertronian colonies, at least in the early stages, everyone kinda helps out with the babies. Make for a much more an enriching, safe life for the little ones. I wanna name and develop every single one of them 🥺 Bulkhead is probably such a warm, sweet carrier
3. Yes. Good. Lockdown looks terrifying and that’s why no one messes with him or his kids XD we could also throw in Fracture from rid2015 👀 purple bounty hunter con. Swinlock baby? 👀👀
4. PFFFFFFFFFT- just. Drift sliding in with a spotlight and a rose like Hiiiiii Ratchet~ 😏 and the medic just SIGHS because ‘I told you, last time was the last time!’ To which Drift responds with, ‘uh huh uh huh sure, now get over here and spike me 👀’. Ratchet doesn’t protest, obviously
5. Wreck-Gar is too good for this world 🥺🥺 he’s such a sweetie! There’s not a single kid in the colony he hasn’t won over, even the grumpy Dratchet bitty
6. Ohhhh, ok. So there’s like, the original Devestator gestalt (constructiprowl, anyone? 👀 I’ve never really thought about them for TFA, but if any Prowl deserves a harem it’s probably TFA Prowl, lbr) and also the earthborn constructicons? How did that happen? The Allspark is still where it belongs within the Well, since there’s no reason they ever would have yeeted it into deepspace, so 👀 mysterious!
7. F in chat for Sentinel please. Never thought I’d say those words, but hey, if he’s not a total jerkwad here maybe he’ll be bearable. I like to imagine he comes to check in Optimus, lectures him for not checking in and being reckless and for Primus Sake don’t scare me like that, then immediately holes himself back up in his ship like 😶 cuz organics are Scary. Does he actually stick around on this colony? Probably not, but maybe one of the neighboring planets might be useful. Perhaps he’ll just go scout those out, yeah, yeah…
8. Hmmmm yeah, I can work with that. Cybertronians are usually super protective and aggressive if they think their young are in danger, so Sunday is definitely flirting with death while he’s actively robbing them 😂 as for Sari, absolutely not. There is no way I’m making Megatron suffer having one of his unborn protocol stolen and then mutated into a techno-organic. There is no room for angst in this AU
9. EVEN BETTR :D is he still a lone seeker, or can we twist it and say his trine is still alive and well? He deserves to be loved 🥺
10. Listen. LISTEN. Cyberverse gave us the perfect candidates. Remember when Clobber was revealed and everyone thought she was a gender bent Lugnut? And we were all cheering for lesbian cons because Alpha Strike is literally just cyberverse Strika? But then they changed their names on us because we can’t have nice things? Yeah, same. So Clobber and Alpha Strike are their twin daughters because this is how I’m coping
11. THE DJD? HELLO???? One, I love the DJD so, Kaon is my favorite. But why is there a DJD in this AU? There’s no war and Megatron doesn’t really need a team of handpicked assassins. Are they more colony scouts/early settlers to put down roots? Traveling merchants? Megatron’s harem (don’t look at me like that, Tarn is completely obsessed with him)? So many options!
Side note anon idk if you’ll read this but I’ve genuinely been enjoying this so much I kinda really wanna write fic about it 👉👈 idk if you’d be interested, but I’d love to collaborate and talk about it more in depth. Rn we’ve got so many good ideas flowing but they’re all crammed together so developing individual little pieces is difficult. If you’d ever wanna collab and work on more story development together, please do me! You can reach me on tumblr or on discord 💖

TFP Starscream for the send me a character!
omg YES
also tagging @nevis-the-skeleton since you asked for starscream as well!
First impression: Very different from the Starscream I grew up with but I can warm up to him???
Impression now: I love him, he is a very interesting character that i think the writers didn't go deeply enough with. I also love his aesthetic?? Heels, black and gray? Everything about him?
Favorite moment: Hmm for me it's when he saved Arcee? Because I felt that was what we missed from him throughout the duration of the series. It summed up his character perfectly. He still has a twinge of moral ambiguity to him but he is capable of doing good even to people who haven't been good to him.
Idea for a story: I have so many stories for him. One is that he was banished from cybertron after the war (optimus and megatron made a truce), so he's kind of on his own, all alone BUT through that he gets to find himself. Another fic im writing too is a 'decepticons lose the war' and starscream is again, off on his own, and he actually finds megatron again who is not in the best situation and starscream can either gloat about his predicament or help him - this is a very heavy fic so when i post it im gonna have to tw.
Unpopular opinion: I get that at the end of the day the writers inevitably wanted us to see him as an inexplicitly evil character. Even with the 'good' he did, the narrative decision was to re-enforce the 'even if he does good things, he is still evil to the core so he deserves bad things'. and yeah, he isnt a good person, or not innocent by any means. But i still think he deserves redemption and at least a deeper dive in to his narrative, trauma, etc. The writing was more dangerous to him than megatron. Every single main con got some type of redemption arc for doing the barest minimum. Starscream had previously been running through the woods, and in many instances DID help the autobots. He isn't innocent and heavily flawed, but he also is a victim to certain degrees. And if others who have done worse or just as bad can get a redemption or be pacified by the narrative, then why can he not? Like if megatron, knockout, breakdown, shockwave and predaking deserve nuance then why doesn't he? it's not really fair. especially since again, he is like a victim in many instances and every time he tries to break out of that toxic relationship or go after the person who is beating him he is demonized by the narrative, fandom, etc. Like it's just not fair and i think he also deserved some form of redemption.
Favorite relationship: can't pick one? so my favorite friendship with him is obviously knockout no matter how badly it ended. breakout and starscream.and then in my own personal aus, i hc him and predaking to be good friends. romantic….optimus / starscream, megatron/starscream, breakdown/starscream and predaking/starscream. and both platonic and romatnic, shockwave/starscream - because they had something going on in predacons rising idc.
Favorite headcanon: In tfp starscream prior to the war (and i guess the series) looked a lot like his g1 or armada look. he hated it so much though because he looked just like everyone else, all the other seekers, etc. So he started to change/modify his body in a way that made him more comfortable. He wanted to aim to look more feminine (at least his version of femininity) and ambiguous. So that's why he looks the way he is in tfp, but he was not created looking like that. He also likes to wear large drapes to mimic dresses as well because he eats in those.
thank you!!

Something in-between au
I would love to here about your Springer idea
Bumblebee eventually warms up to Megatron to the point where Megatron can talk to him and occasionally give him a friendly pat on the head. Bumblebee eventually trusts Megatron. To Megatron Bumblebee is his new son, this is his child, his baby boy, free son
Starscream often times enjoys laying on Soundwave whenever it is most inconvenient, just for fun, he thinks it's silly the cassettes and terrans love it Soundwave does not appreciate it as much as they do
No yeah basically just. Imagine if Springer was created while Prowl and Tarantulas were on earth together, and we see it. Maybe my thoughts on this part of it are moderately inspired by "The Cop And The Cryptid". But essentially child time. For a more canon adjacent au it'd be a whole fucking thing again because making life without an Allspark, no hotspot, no Emberstone, just. WOMPH, LIFE. But also no deadbeat dad Prowl jokes like in IDW canon, and we'd actually get to see so much of it not in flashbacks. In a less canon adjacent au where we're allowed to have sex and mechpreg, well that's how it happens then. there is room for somewhere in between.
Aww yesss on Megs fully adopting Bumblebee, yes.
ALSO AWW ON STARSCREAM LAYING ON SOUNDERS JUST TO BE A MENACE. YES. oh Soundwave.

Ooh what is the relationship between Knockout and Starscream like in c&m?
Knockout and Starscream have a mutually beneficial relationship, but at many times it could be considered dubious seeing how purely transactional it is.
Knockout is fully aware that he is allowed to say no and be properly left alone from Starscream’s advances should he command it. Knockout knows that Starscream is in absolutely no position to be making those kinds of demands, ever, so long as Knockout agrees. As said before, Knockout keeps his work relations strictly within the club and all security staff are on high alert if any dancer were to give the word.
It’s been established already that Knockout’s main reason for still working at the club is because of his son, Wildbreak.
Knockout was employed at the club long before he met Breakdown, hell he was even the favorite of Starscream’s even then. After him and Breakdown hit it off, he obviously cut off the more intimate relations he had with his personal patrons and even took leave from working at the club just a few short months into his relationship with Breakdown.
It was no secret secret to the dancers as to what caused Knockout’s long absence, as mob Patrons did not keep their scoffs on the down low as they talked about the stupid construction crew that thought could so easily steal from them.
A small construction crew used to frequent the club. Not exactly being regulars, but when money was good they treated themselves to wild night of clubbing—Breakdown however brought Knockout flowers for every single one of his performances.
When this crew AND Breakdown never showed again, it wasn’t hard to make a guess what exactly went down and why Knockout was no longer showing up for his shifts.
All however were surprised to see Knockout come trudging back into the show business only some months later. Everyone was wise as to not speak of Breakdown, as even a mention to Knockout’s all too brief absence visibly had the dancer thrown into a state of tightened, paralyzed grief, no matter how hard he tried to swallow it down.
Starscream was all too pleased to see his darling dancer return, cruel as he is, some sense of him was glad to see that he no longer had to share with that ‘Breakdown’ ruffian. After breakups, all too soon passings or even disheartening betrayals, mecha who were once as devoted as Knockout was—craving consolation, an escape even to the pain—they are just so painfully empty inside… but usually not for long so long as Starscream names the right price.
The only reason as to why Knockout returned to the club so soon was because he now had Breakdown’s son to provide for, a sickly son at that who needed expensive medicines and a good and warm place to call home. The club’s pay was nice, the performance tips very nice, and for Knockout—Starscream’s paid for sessions were a definitely more than handsome penny.
While yes, Knockout had always been saving since before him and Breakdown met, funerals are expensive and hospital bills never seemed to stop. Knockout truly had little choice in his return if he had any hope of providing for Wybie.
Knockout has a talent for getting other’s attention, for getting people to want him, so long as he’s careful and he plays his cards right as to pay the bills, nothing will keep him out of the club until he is sure that he has enough to get himself and Wildbreak out of the city, away from the grimey mecha, the choking air, the violence. Keeping up his Man Eating, Gold Digging persona has never been so easy.
No one knows about Wildbreak’s existence outside of Knockout, Starscream, First Aid (Knockout’s flatmate and Wybie’s night-time guardian), and Optimus—who Knockout trusted him with this knowledge a short time after he shared his own secret, double life.
Starscream and Knockout will never have a relationship past their transactions. Knockout has the goods, and Starscream has the dough, that is all.

Hey all. This is a piece for @pastelpaperplanes. I love their OC Crusade and I really wanted to write something for them. This fic is based off THIS idea, where Prowl is a Seeker. Just a heads up, I’ve deaged him in this AU. He would have been created around the time Arachna-7 happened, so he never met Yoketron and also never joined the space bridge crew. For those who don’t want to read the post I linked too, there’s a quick rundown of how Prowl got to where he is in this fic at the very end to avoid spoilers, but if you want to go in without surprises I suggest skipping down to read the rundown then coming back up to read the fic.
And now that the necessary background is out of the way, on to the story!
———————————————————————————————————
(Everyone knew the story of the Space Bridge Repair Crew that defeated Megatron and his top lieutenants. Of Bulkhead, the gentle, bumbling giant whose space bridge knowledge proved critical in corning the Decepticons. Of Ratchet, whose age and experience helped the tiny team form the strategy that won them the battle. Of Bumblebee, whose quick thinking and even quicker pedes kept Blitzwing and Starscream busy while the rest of his team dealt with Lugnut Supreme. Of Sari, the tiny techno-organic whose mastery of the All-Spark allowed her to use it to keep her comrades going strong even as the Decepticons flagged and tired. Of Optimus Prime, the young Academy washout who single-handedly defeated Megaton not just once, but twice. Yes, every Cybertronian knew the story.
But they didn’t know everything.
They didn’t know about the bond that the young Prime had forged with the Warlord. They didn’t know that the reason he and his soldiers had been able to escape on the trip back to Cybertron was because Optimus had hesitated when General Strika attacked the Steelhaven to free her Lord. They didn’t know about the nights the two shared on the tiny little organic mudball they’d called home for a time.
And no Autobot, not even the Prime, knew that Megatron had been carrying the day he’d made his bold escape.
The team returned to Cybertron as heroes, and Optimus was immediately taken under Ultra Magnus’s wing to be be sucessor. His team were given the highest honor, inducted into the ranks of the Elite Guard to serve directly under Optimus himself.
Meanwhile, Megatron had his heir, and tried not to think of the Sire his Sparkling would never get to know. Time moved on, Earth was forgotten, and the Deceptions grew quiet. Megatron’s sparkling, who he named Crusade, grew. Things…settled.)
(And on the other side of the galaxy, another heir, the lost sparkling of Winglord Starscream, looked to the stars and tried not to think of the way his clipped wings ached.)
——————————
Oh, Crusade was going to die when Carrier got his hands on them. Of that, they were sure. It would be a gruesome death, too. Very painful. Worse yet, he’d give them that look. The “I’m disappointed in you but also very sad to have to punish you in this way” look. Crusade hated that look. Not as much as they hated Starscream’s look, though. Whenever they messed up, the Seeker gave them a look like he was asking “really?”, only they hated it because there was always something deeply pained in that look. Crusade had asked carrier once, why Starscream always seemed so pained when they acted in a certain way. Megatron had been very quiet, and then had said that Crusade merely reminded the Winglord of a precious treasure he’d lost vorns ago. Yeah. They had no idea what that was supposed to mean.
But! Crusade was getting distracted. Very distracted. They were supposed to be fleeing for their life, not musing on Carrier’s disappointment and Starscream’s mystery. Though, in their defense, they would much rather be doing that than trying to outrun the giant, weird organic beast chasing them. It was a rather horrifying thing. Six legs, dry, rough skin, and two heads. A rather intimidating underbite and wicked horns matched the four eyes per head and the acidic spit completed the terrifying image. Oh yeah. If that thing caught them, Crusade would be very, very dead. Which, if they were being honest with themselves, might be preferable to facing Carrier when they inevitably got back to New Kaon.
That was a worry for Future Crusade though. Present Crusade needed to keep themselves concerned with not dying, please and thank you. They gunned their engine, putting on one more burst of speed as they drove across the ground of the strange, outer rim planet. And then, disaster struck. Because of course it would. Crusade was convinced Primus wanted them dead, at this point.
The ground gave way beneath them, and they only had time to transform before they fell into a freezing underground river and were swept away. Before they could even think to swim for freedom, their helm hit a rock, and everything went black.
——————————
There was a soft crackling sound filling the air as Crusade woke, and they could feel their frame resting on something soft. They sighed, relaxing back into the comfortable bedding. Oh, that nasty little adventure had been a dream. They were back in their berth on New Kaon. Granted, that didn’t explain the crackling noise, but they were content to go back to sleep. They turned and curled up to do just that, processor slowing to slip back into recharge.
“I know you’re awake.”
The unexpected voice made their optics snap open, their battle protocols going online all at once as they leapt up and turned their attention to its origin.
There was a bot there, sitting in front of a crackling fire. They were small and lithe, their plating a dull, scratched black and gold. They had what Crusade quickly recognized as doorwings high on their back. But, the young Heir also quickly noticed two key things missing. The first: the bot didn’t have wheels. Which, while odd, combined with the lack of wings or rotors suggested they were a momoformer. The second: they weren’t wearing a faction badge. This was a Neutral.
“Oh, stop with the useless posturing.” The bot spoke again.
“What?” Crusade said, very intelligently.
The bot snorted, gesturing to a spot on the other side of the fire. Crusade noticed a container filled with…was that energon?
“Fuel.” The bot said shortly.
Crusade relaxed, battle protocols coming down slowly, and walked over to the container, steps cautious. They sat down, picking up the container and taking a small sip before staring at the bot. Said bot seemed annoyed with the staring.
“Oh, will you just drink and leave?”
“What your name?” Crusade asked, ignoring the question.
“What.” The bot said, toneless.
“Nice to meet you, What!” Crusade said with a smirk. Yes, they were being a brat. But the bot was being rude, thank you very much.
The young ‘Con deliberately ignored that they were probably intruding on this bot’s home.
“My name is not what. It’s Prowl.” the bot hissed. “Now fuel and leave!"
“So Prowl, where are we?” Once again, Crusade ignored the demand.
“Underground. A cavern system.” Prowl deadpanned.
“Cool. Also, I don’t know how to get to the surface.”
“Not my problem.”
“Then I guess I’ll just stay here!” Crusade said brightly, taking another drink of fuel.
Prowl was silent for a moment, then hissed and glared. “Fine. I will take you to the surface tomorrow. It’s night now.” They said shortly.
“How can you tell?”
“The cave crystals glow a different color at night.” Prowl said, gesturing.
And indeed, the walls of the cave were pocketed with faintly glowing crystals, their light a soft, deep purple. Hm. Crusade would prefer to leave now, but they’d take what they could get. No need to antagonize their host too much.
“So, how’d I get here?”
“I found you drowning in the river. I pulled you out. Your carcass would have attracted unwanted attention from predators down here.”
Okay, now that was just rude.
Crusade sniffed, turning their nose up and taking another sip of fuel. “Great. Thanks, I guess.”
“You’re welcome.” Prowl deadpanned.
There was silence as Prowl did…something. Crusade couldn’t tell what. In the silence, they finished their fuel and set the container aside.
“Thanks for the fuel.” They said cheerfully. “So. You a mech, a femme, or what?” They felt that was very important to know.
Generally a bot’s physical frame could tell you, but there were exceptions. Like General Strika. She did not look like the typical femme. And Oil Slick didn’t look like the typical mech. He was very willowy. Plus, Crusade themself was proof enough that physical appearance wasn’t a good indicator of that sort of thing.
“What.” Again, that toneless deadpan. Prowl really wanted Crusade to shut up, didn’t they? Well, too bad for them. They weren’t going to.
“Are you a mech, a femme, or something else? I’m kinda not anything. You can call me “they” or “them.” I don’t like the standard binary much.” They said cheerfully, optics looking around the odd little cave.
It was small. There was that makeshift berth in the corner, piled with…was that animals furs? Huh. There was some fuel in another corner, obviously handmade weapons and packs by a wall that made to what they assumed was the entrance, and..that was it. Well, aside from the fire pit in the middle. Huh. Pretty bare.
“Hello, They. I am a mech.” Prowl’s dry tone stole Crusade’s attention again.
They snapped their attention to the bot, gaping in infuriated disbelief. “You-“ His smirk made them stop and scowl. “You’re an aft.” They announced. “My name is Crusade.”
Prowl snorted, returning to…whatever was in his lap. “So I see. I suggest you rest. The trek to the surface is a long one.”
Crusade paused, blinking. “Isn’t it your berth?”
“I’ll recharge on the ground.”
“Uh, no. We can share.” They decided. They refused to steal a bot’s berth. They weren’t rude, unlike some mechanisms.
Prowl paused, then slipped whatever he’d been working on into his subspace and scowled. “There’s no need.”
“Sure there is. You aren’t taking the ground. The berth is big enough. We’re both pretty small.” They eyed the mech. “Especially you.”
Prowl made a growling noise that Crusade recognized as coming from his engine. Which…that was odd. He shouldn’t have an engine, if he was a monoformer. And it hadn’t sounded like a ground vehicle engine either. But those were definitely doorwings on his back. Huh.
“If I agree will you shut up and recharge?” Prowl demanded.
Ha. Victory.
“Sure.” Crusade agreed. They stood, making their way to the berth and hearing soft pede steps behind them.
Good. Prowl was following. The mech strode past him, sliding into the side closest to the wall and turning his back to Crusade. Rude. It was almost like no one had ever bothered to reach the mech manners. They glanced at the fire, realizing it’d probably die down on its own and there was no way for it to spread here. Assured of their safety for the night, Crusade got into the berth on the unoccupied side and lay down, relaxing their frame and closing their optics.
As strange as it felt to sleep next to a stranger, Prowl was right. Crusade would need all the energy they could get for tomorrow. They had to make it to the surface to Carrier could find them.
Resolve steeled, it didn’t take long for the young Heir to slip into a peaceful recharge, processor soothed by the warmth of the cave and the crackling of the fire.
——————————
Crusade woke when they fell face first to the floor from the berth. They blinked against the dirt, trying to understand how they’d gotten here. Also, why it felt like they’d been kicked. Movement from above them quickly brought back the memories of the day before, and they groaned. They had been kicked. By Prowl. The fragger. They pushed themselves up, glaring at the stoic mech.
“You’re an aft.”
Prowl scoffed, standing from the berth and heading to the corner where some random things were stored. He rifled around, then pulled out what looked alike a handmade sack made of more organic skin and dumped…wait, was that crystallized energon? The frag?
He went to the other corner, where Crusade saw a few small stacked cubes of energon. He tossed one over, then picked up another and downed it in a few swallowed before shoving a few more into his pack before heading to the entrance. Crusade was quick to drink their own share then follow.
“Let’s go.” the mech said shortly. “I don’t want you in my home any longer than you have to be.” He hurried ahead, through a winding tunnel, and Crusade followed.
“Rude.” They snarked. “Did your carrier never teach you manners?”
The mech went rigid, his engine making an odd hissing noise. Huh. Crusade had heard Starscream make that noise before.
“No.” The mech growled. “I’ve been on my own.” He didn’t say anything else, but Crusade wasn’t stupid. They could fill in the blanks.
“Oh.” They said, subdued. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine.” His answer was short and curt. Crusade didn’t push further.
They came out of the tunnel them, into the bottom of a deep ravine. Crusade winced, lifting an arm as their optics adjusted to the light of the sun then lowering it once the brightness wasn’t quite so painful. Prowl was already striding ahead, and Crusade rushed to catch up.
As they came up behind him, they noticed something off about his doorwings. The ends were…oddly damaged at the ends. Like they’d been cut or hacked into. It was strange. And it looked painful. Doorwings may not be as finely attuned as Seeker wigs, but he knew they were still extremely sensitive. Doorwinged mecha had most of their sensors in their wings, after all.
“Hey, are your wings okay?” They asked, concerned.
Again, Prowl tensed. “They’re fine.” he snapped harshly.
Well, that was a lie if Crusade had ever heard one. Still, they didn’t force the issue. Instead, they lifted their servos in surrender. “Hey, alright. Dropping it.” They said.
Prowl nodded stiffly, continuing on. They followed him in silence, not wanting to push the boundaries any further. After some time, they came to a narrower part of the ravine and a ledge a short ways up. Prowl didn’t even hesitate. He ran at the ravine wall, leaping up and latching onto it, then using it to leap to the opposite wall and land on the ledge. Crusade gaped, then shook themselves and hurried to follow suit. They refused to be upstaged by a civilian!
They squawked when they fell short, chest hitting the ledge and claws scrabbling on he dirt. Before they could fall, a slim servo dove and snatched his wrist, hauling him up. In the sun, Crusade noticed how the fingers curled around his arm were tipped in claws.
Odd.
Civilian frames didn’t have claws…and for that matter, most civilian frames couldn’t leapt across a ravine like Prowl had. Was it a mod in his pedes, perhaps?
Crusade glanced down, and that was when they noticed the strange damage to the his pedes, concentrated around his heels.
The frag?
Prowl obviously noticed their attentions, because he tensed and released their wrists then stepped away.
“Let’s go. We’ve still got a long trek.” He snapped, then spun and stalked off before Crusade could get a word in.
Now that was just rude.
The Decepticon followed regardless, walking after the mech as he led them along a narrow path built into the wall of the ravine. Prowl was obviously comfortable here. It spoke of long exposure and experience.
“So how long have you been on this rock?” They asked curiously.
Prowl glanced over his shoulder at them. “What?” He asked, sounding only mildly irritated this time. Progress!
“How long have you been on this planet?” They clarified.
He hummed, returning his focus to the path ahead. “Vorns. I snuck aboard a shuttle headed off Cybertron when I was young and ended up here when they dumped their scrap. I hadn’t realized I’d been hiding in the disposal pod until it had been released.”
“Oh.” Crusade was subdued. “Sorry”
He shrugged. “It’s fine. I prefer this place.”
“You do?”
“Yes. I did not like Cybertron.”
"Why?"
Their question was met with those doorwinngs hiking up as Prowl tensed, his field filling with anger before it blossomed to pain and one of his servos flew back to his doorwings.
Crusade was on him in the next moment, concerned. “Primus, Prowl, are you okay?”
“They…hurt, sometimes.” He gritted out.
“Cause of the damage.” They guessed.
“…yes”
“I’m sorry.”
The pain was fading from his field, and he straightened and relaxed his doorwings. “It’s not your fault.” He said, then kept walking.
Crusade hesitated, but followed again after a moment, staying silent. They came to the end of the path, and it dipped back into a new tunnel. The pair went though in silence, and Crusade was admiring the glow of the crystals when Prowl spoke again.
“And how did you get here?”
“Huh?” Crusade looked over at him, and it took a moment to register the question. Then they blinked and chuckled, rubbing the back of their helm sheepishly. “Oh. That.”
“Yes. That.” He said dryly.
“Would you believe me if I said that I’m here on a mission?”
Prowl sent him a look that suggested he very much would not.
Eh.
It had been worth a shot.
“Right. Well, I just want to preface this by saying it’s not my fault.”
“Of course it’s not.” Was that sarcasm? That was definitely sarcasm. Primus, how rude.
“Oh shut up. It wasn’t! It was Wildrider’s fault.” The other youngling had been the one who’d accidentally destroyed the space bridge control panel.
“Oh?”
“Yeah! I mean, we shouldn’t have been roughhousing in the space bridge control room, but it was still his fault!”
“And you have absolutely none of the blame, despite doing something you admit you shouldn’t have been doing.” Prowl said in a drawl.
Crusade threw their servos up. “Okay, fine! So we were playing a prank on Motormaster cause he’s a slagheap and when we were running from him we ducked into the control room and started arguing and then started fighting.” They huffed. “It’s not all my fault.” they said petulantly.
They looked up to see Prowl cast them an amused glance. “So you say.” He said serenely.
Ugh. Aft.
They scowled and turned their nose away, staying silent until they came out of the tunnel and onto another ledge. There was a second ledge across the ravine. Prowl took a running start, then jumped and landed on it neatly. Crusade followed suit, managing to stick the landing this time.
Once again, the mech turned and the way along a small, narrow path. Crusade stuck close behind him, and enjoyed the sun shining down on them. And that was when they noticed it.
A scruff bar, between his shoulders at the base of his neck.
A scruff bar, a feature that only sparklings and younglings had. A feature which allowed creators to pick up and carry their young painlessly and easily if said young got rowdy or disobedient or just needed to be carried somewhere else. Adults didn’t have scruff bars. Theirs merged with the rest of their frame when they became adults. Yet, Prowl had one.
Prowl was a youngling.
“Hey!” Crusade sputtered. “You never said you were a youngling!”
The mech scowled over his shoulder. “I’m not!”
“You have a scruff bar.” They said smugly.
Prowl was silent, but his scowl grew. “So do you.”
“Sure.” Crusade agreed cheerily. “I’m not denying I’m a youngling, though.”
Prowl tilted his face up to the sky like he was asking Primus for mercy. Ha. The idiot. Didn’t he know Primus had forsaken Crusade?
“Fine. I’m a youngling. Are you happy?”
“Very.” Crusade said cheerfully.
Prowl made a noise of disgust and continued on. Crusade was delighted to see that the two of them were finally coming to the top of the ravine. The end of the path came up to the surface, and soon enough both bots were there.
“So, this is it.” Prowl stated, then spun as if to leave.
“Wait! You can’t leave yet! I haven’t been rescued!”
“Not my problem.”
“I’ll just lead the predators back to your cave.”
The mech froze, then turned to face him. “You,” he said slowly. “Are incredibly annoying.”
Crusade beamed. “Thanks! I try.” They said smugly. “So how what?”
“This way.” Prowl said, stalking off.
They followed him, and soon they came to a stone overhang, there the mech sat down and set up the items from his pack which turned out to be a small fire kit and some fuel. Crusade sat opposite him, smirking. The two sat in silence until Crusade got bored, and then they were up and padding off the explore the area around the outcropping.
They hadn’t gone far before they heard an scuttling noise, and then some sort of furry, scraggly, three legged organic thing as large as their torso was leaping at their face.
And then Prowl was there. He surged from the shadows, and Crusade didn’t even register he was there until the organic was dead and Prowl was standing over it. He crouched, pressing a servo to its fur.
“I’m sorry you lost your life so we could live.” he murmured.
Crusade…was confused. Very impressed, because the odd little mech had skills, but also confused.
“What are you doing?” they asked.
As they watched, Prowl lifted the organic and turned to face them. “This planet is theirs. The organic life here has protected and sustained me for vorns. It’s only right to respect it, even if I cannot understand it.” he said smoothly. “You go back. This one attacked because you stepped into its territory. I'm putting the corpse far enough away where it won’t attract predators to us.”
They nodded. “How long will we have to stay up here?”
“Until your own come for you. To that end, I suggest you activate your long-range comms, if you have them.” And then he was turning and walking away.
Crusade watched him go, then returned to the outcropping and sat. Prowl was right. They needed to try and make contact with home.
They just hoped it wouldn’t take Carrier longer than an orn or two to arrive.
——————————
Crusade onlined the next morning to the roaring of a familiar space shuttle. They were up on their pedes in the next beat, temporarily forgetting Prowl, who had returned after dark fell the previous night, as the young mech roused and stood. The shuttle landed, and Crusade shut off the distress signal they’d been broadcasting just as the door in the side of the ship opened.
Carrier stepped out, and they launched themselves at him with a delighted laugh. Megatron caught his sparkling easily, tugging them against his chest and rumbling.
“You had me worried, little one.” He scolded.
Crusade had the decency to look sheepish. “Sorry, Carrier.” They perked up. “But I wasn’t alone. They turned to Prowl, and Megatron followed their gaze. “I found a friend! Prowl helped me!”
“Prowl.” Megatron said the name strangely, an odd quality in his voice and optics as he gazed at the stiff mech a few paces away.
“Yes.” Prowl said, then shot Crusade a look. “You never said your Carrier is Megatron.”
“Is that a problem?” The warlord interrupted, voice low and dangerous.
Prowl scoffed. “Hardly.” he sneered. He packed his things, then jerked his helm at Crusade. “There. I helped you. Not I’m returning home.” He turned to leave, and Crusade wanted to call him back but Carrier’s grip on their shoulder stopped them.
They turned to question him, but then the ground by the ship exploded up and the beast who had chased them upon their arrival to this planet was lunging from the debris. Megatron reacted, but Crusade could already tell he wouldn’t be able to stop the second head from sinking teeth into their arm.
And then, just like the night before, Prowl was there.
The slim mech slid in front of the pair of Decepticons, then lunged at the on coming beast. As he did, Crusade caught a glimpse of his face, his lips pulled back, and saw fangs.
Then he was impacting the creature, and he was a flurry of movement. It shrieked and bucked and twisted, but he held on and dug in and as Crusade watched he tore open both its throats and held on until it went limp and still. Then he stepped off it, uncaring of the organic blood staining his claws and…and his mouth. Okay, wow. Apparently he’d straight up bitten the creature’s throat out.
He shot an irritated look at Crusade and their Carrier. “You should go. These beasts don’t eat organic matter. They eat minerals and metal. You two are just going to attract more of them.”
Megatron ignored him, and Crusade was confused by the serious look in his optics. “You said your name is Prowl, yes? Where did you come from, youngling?”
“I’m not a youngling!” he snapped.
Megatron was unimpressed. He stepped forward, and in one movement a large servo was plucking Prowl up by his scruff bar. “No? This says differently. I’ll ask again. Where did you come from?”
Prowl growled, swiping his claws at the warlord, to no effect. “Put me down!”
“Answer the question.”
“I don’t know! The only memories I have are of Cybertron but they’re fragmented!”
Megatron hummed, optics narrowed, then lifted his other servo and pinched a delicate cluster of wires in Prowl’s neck. The youngling jerked, and then went limp with unconsciousness. The large warframe turned and headed back to the shuttle. “Come, Crusade. This won’t keep him out for long. It’s time for us to return home.”
Crusade gaped, then hurried after them. “Carrier? I don’t understand. What’s going on?”
“Later, little one. You go wash up. I’m locking your friend in the spare berthroom so you’ll have to share a room with me on the way back.” He said.
“But-“
“Go.” Megatron said firmly. “I promise, no harm will come to him. But we need to get back to New Kaon.”
Crusade hesitated, then as Megatron went to set Prowl in the berthroom, they turned and headed to the washracks. Maybe Carrier would explain it all when they were closer to home. They’d ask him later.
——————————
“Later”, as it turned out, did not come for another orn. In that time, Crusade had washed up, refueled, and recharged. Carrier had told him fuel had also been slipped into the spare berthroom for Prowl. But now, they were clean and refreshed and wanted answers. They went to where Carrier was piloting the ship, then sat in the copilots seat and stared.
“Carrier.”
Megatron’s optics turned to them, then he sighed and switched the ship to autopilot before turning to face his creation. “Yes. I believe I promised you a talk, my little one.”
Crusade nodded. “Why…why did you take Prowl?”
Megatron hummed. “He does not belong on that rock. He is too young to be on his own.”
“He’s managed this long.” They pointed out. “It’s more than that, isn’t it? Do you…do you know something about him?”
A soft chuckle left the warlord. “Hm, I often forget how perceptive you are. Yes. Or rather, perhaps.”
“Perhaps?”
“I am unsure if I know who he is. I believe I do. I have a strong suspicion, but I cannot confirm it until we are back in New Kaon. All of us.”
“And you won’t tell me until you know for sure.”
Megatron dipped his helm. “Yes. I apologize, Crusade. But I don’t want to give you a false impression of your friend. He may not be who I suspect he is.”
Crusade sagged against the seat, crossing their arms. “I don’t like it.”
“I know.”
“Can’t you tell me anything? Anything at all.”
“Crusade…” Megatron groaned.
“Please, Carrier? It’s not like he’s an Autobot in disguise.” They joked. "I mean, you'd know if he was. You're old as dirt so it's a trick you would've seen before."
Megatron shot them a look, reaching out to tweak one of their finials in reprimand, making them squeal. "Manners, bitlet." he scolded, then sighed and leaned back “You’re not going to let this go, are you?”
“Absolutely not.” They said brightly.
It wasn’t like it was that bad right? Maybe Megatron had known Prowl as a sparkling? No, that was silly. Maybe there was a bot on New Kaon who looked like him and they were secretly family? Unlikely.
Crusade opened their mouth to make another joke, when their Carrier’s next words made their voice die on their glossa.
“He fights like a grounded Seeker.”
——————————
When the shuttle landed in the hangar of the stronghold Crusade called home, they were the first out. The building, a massive one that housed the whole of Decepticon High Command, stood in the middle of the ‘Cons’ city on New Kaon. They stepped out, surprised to see Starscream.
“What are you doing here?” They asked.
He scoffed. “Megatron still hasn’t taught you manners, I see.” he crossed his arms. “If you must know, your oaf of a Carrier messaged me when you breached the atmosphere. He said he was bringing something back he needed me to see.”
“Uh huh. You don’t usually obey him so easily. What are you planning?”
The Seeker rolled his optics. “Nothing. I’m merely curious about what is so urgent I have to come see it.” he sniffed.
Crusade didn’t get it. The only thing they’d brought back was…
Before they could finish that thought, pedesteps and the sounds of a struggle drew their attention. Megatron stepped from the shuttle, trying to wrangle a wildly struggling Prowl. He obviously noticed Starscream, because he grunted and finally managed to pin the smaller bot’s arms to his sides and hold him securely.
“Starscream.” He drawled, sounding slightly strained. “So glad you could make it.”
Oddly, Crusade realized, Prowl had gone stiff and still, staring at the Winglord with a strange look on his face.
“Quite.” The Seeker sneered. “Is this what you wanted me to see, Lord Megatron? A half feral grounder youngling?”
“Hm.” The warlord narrowed his optics. “Look closer, Starscream. Perhaps remove that visor?”
Starscream snorted, but seemed willing to indulge because he stepped forward to do just that. Crusade expected Prowl to fight, but to their surprise he remained still and frozen, his doorwings quivering faintly. A clawed servo was lifted, and Crusade found the air stolen from his vents when he saw the optics that were revealed under that blue visor.
Red.
Prowl had red optics.
Starscream went still, his own optics blowing wide. Crusade couldn’t help but notice that Prowl had the exact same shade of red optics as the Winglord.
“Crusade tells me his name is Prowl.” Megatron said, voice oddly soft.
Starscream shot him a look, mouth dropping slightly before he returned his attention to the youngling. Megatron set Prowl down, and he made no attempt to run, simply standing and tilting his face up to stare as the Seeker lifted a claw and delicately traced his cheek.
Crusade had no idea what was going on. They looked to their Carrier to ask, but Megatron put a finger to his lips and they kept quiet.
“Prowl.” Starscream said, an odd accent to his voice. That…that was a Vosnian accent. Starscream never let his accent show anymore. Crusade had only ever heard it once, and that had been an accident.
“Prowler?” The Winglord said. A soft, sharp sound came from the frozen youngling. Starscream visibly swallowed, and then, voice shaking, spoke again. “Nightprowler?” His voice was little more than a whisper, but every bot present heard him.
Prowl jerked as if struck, a sharp noise leaving his vocalizer that Crusade didn’t recognize was Starscream clearly did. His doorwings shook, trembling madly. Starscream lifted his gaze to them, his free servo rising as he crooned, sounding almost physically pained.
“Oh, little one.” He said. “What did they do to you?”
This was getting to be too much. Crusade had no idea what was going on, and was about to ask their Carrier in a whisper, when Prowl spoke and every thought in their processor came to a screeching halt.
“Carrier?”
——————————
Prowl crouched on the roof of the stronghold, optics narrowed behind his new red visor. He stared out over the Decepticon city, his new paint job making him blend in to the shadows cast by the rising sun. He was still black and gold, but his black was darker and deeper, and his gold had become a deeper tone with hints of bronze to darken it. In the low light, he was hardly visible, only the glow of his visor drawing attention to his presence.
He shifted on his pedes, looking down to see his newly repaired thrusters. He almost couldn’t believe it. At his back, his wings ticked up. They too, had been repaired. They stood tall and proud, each one long and slim. He was built for speed and agility, his whole frame returned to the state it should be.
“Excited to fly again, flitterling?” His Carrier’s voice came from behind him.
He turned, helm tilting. “Yes.” He said.
Starscream hummed and approached, one servo lifting to stroke down his closest wing. “Good. As you should be.”
Prowl looked up, then stood and looked up at the older Seeker. Starscream tittered a laugh, his servo moving to stroke his youngling’s back.
“You’re so small, flitterling.” He said softly, voice a little said. He knew why his creation was undersized. Hook had said he was severely malnourished. Then he smiled. “Don’t you worry. We’ll get you to your proper size yet.”
“And if you can’t?”
He shrugged. “Then the Seekers’ Heir shall be small.” He said simply. “You’ll have to prove yourself worthy of your position, but you’d have had to do that regardless.”
Prowl nodded, then looked up and frowned. He didn’t remember much, from before. The Decepticon medic had said it was mnemosurgery. Apparently he’d found the scars. But…but he did remember that Starscream wasn’t supposed to be alone. He remembered he’d called the two other mechs “Sire”.
“Carrier?”
“Hm?”
“Where are Sires?”
Starscream tensed, then sighed. “Captured by the Autobots.”
“We’ll get them back.” Prowl said decidedly.
Starscream looked down, smiling. “Yes. We will. Skywarp and Thundercracker will be thrilled to know you’ve returned to us.” He crooned, dipping his helm. Prowl stood on his toes to meet him, and they pressed their forhelms together.
Then the Winglord stood back. “You wait here, flitterling. I will gather the rest of the Seekers.”
“Why?”
“It Is only right that they come watch their returned princeling’s first flight.” He smirked. “You are to lead them one day, after all.”
Prowl nodded, and Starscream turned. As he walked past his creation, he dropped one wing to flutter against Prowl’s before he took to the air and disappeared off the edge of the roof.
The youngling returned his attention to the city sprawled before him, frame relaxing under the light of the rising sun. Home. He’d finally come home. This was the place from his few, fragmented memories. This was what his spark had been crying for for so long. He closed his optics under his visor, wings relaxing as he hummed softly.
“Not getting scared there, are you Prowl?” Crusade’s voice made him jump, and he spun to glare.
Crusade grinned, sauntering forward to tap the Deceptibrand on his chest. “This suits you.” They said.
Prowl scoffed. “Yes. I know.”
“So, not up to flying?”
“Carrier is going to get the other Seekers. Apparently, my first flight is to be watched.”
“Ooh, can I watch? I bet you’re going to fly into a building.” They smirked.
Prowl stared. “This coming from a bot who got knocked out by a rock.”
Crusade sputtered. “The river was moving fast!”
“Yes. So fast. It’s not like you fell into a shallow point and could have just stood up.”
“Oh, shut up!”
“Why should I?”
“Because—because—“ they sputtered. “You haven’t flown in vorns, I bet you’ll plow into the ground!”
Prowl stared at the other youngling, face impassive. Then he reached out and, expression remaining unchanged, shoved Crusade of the roof. The Decepticon heir shrieked, then fell.
Their yell abruptly cut off in time with the sound of thrusters meeting his audials. A moment later, Starscream flew up, holding Crusade by their scruff bar.
“Flitterling,” The Winglord drawled, tone half-way between scolding and amused. “Can you, perhaps, not offline the one good thing Megatron has created?”
“Yeah, Prowl. Don’t try to kill your future leader.” Crusade sniggered.
Prowl stared, then looked up at his carrier. “Are you certain we can’t find the nearest cliff and drop them off it? No one would ever know.”
“I’m sure.” Starscream set Crusade down and looked up. Prowl followed his gaze in time to see a myriad of other Seekers start taking to the skies from various parts of the city and stronghold, circling high above.
He looked to Starscream, gaze fixed on the Winglord. “So, Nightprowler.” The older Seeker purred. “Are you ready to command the winds once more?”
Prowl simply nodded at his Carrier, then tensed and leapt off the roof of the tower. He plummeted, the wind shrieking past him as he got ever closer to the ground. Above him, Starscream hovered in the sky and watched. On the roof he’d left, Crusade watched with rapt attention. The ground drew closer, and mere seconds before he struck it he activated his thrusters.
He shot straight back up into the sky, and for the first time in vorns, Prowl flew.

RUNDOWN:
Prowl was created by Starscream and his trine, because I like the idea of trines being romantically involved and all that good stuff. (I headcanon that Seeker trines can create sparklings that are a little bit of all of them. One carries the sparkling, one provides the physical contribution, and one provides the spark energy. So he has one carrier and two sires, basically). Prowl got separated from Starscream when he was a sparkling and captured by the Autobots. (The ‘Cons think he was killed). They cut down his wings and intended to experiment on him/raise him as an Autobot but he escaped and basically survived on his own from there, until he stowed away on as ship headed off Cybertron and ended up on a planet no one goes to in the far reaches of the galaxy. Age wise, this AU of my AU could make him older than Crusade but not an adult just yet. (Also, he doesn’t remember much of what happened before his wings were clipped-also cause of Autobot High Command. He mostly just had fragments of memory.)
Also, in this AU Starscream didn’t betray Megatron in the beginning of the series like he did in canon. Mainly cause after losing Prowl, he hates the Autobots more than he hates Megatron.
Also also. I didn't mention this, but I like to imagine that the CNA for the Jettwins came from Prowl in this AU, not Starscream. make of that way you will.
———————————————————————————————————
They're friends. :)
But that was that! What did y'all think? I hoped you liked it. I had fun writing Crusade. Pastel, I dearly hope I did them justice. They're lovely and bring me such genuine joy. (Also, sorry for the funky formatting this time, it was the only way I could think to squeeze everything in.)
But, yeah! Prowl is home! Also, he and Sadie are gonna take over Megatron and Starscream one day. Just with less attempted murder on Prowl's part. Mostly. I like to imagine they'll just forever be the snarky best friends. Also, Prowl is going to be an absolute terror on the battlefield, make so mistake.
And yes, I gave Prowl a "Seeker" name because (most) Seekers in canon have compound names relating to the sky or flight so I thought it'd fit. His friends/family still call him Prowl, or Prowler, but everyone else calls him Nightprowler because it's only fitting to call the Seeker princeling by his proper designation. But yeah. I think that's it.
Until next time, folks!
Also, yes. This fic, like my others for Pastel, does have a song. I thought it fit, so. Anyway, its Coming Home - Part II, by Skylar Grey.
youtube
And, as a special treat, have one more song. This one is Heirloom by Sleeping At Last, and I like to Imagine it's Starscream's song to Prowl throughout this whole AU/this fic.

For the ask: IDW or G1 Soundwave please :)
Okey! A bit of a disclaimer. There is much of IDW1 I have yet to read… like every thing before the death of optimus prime, and I have watched G1 just once, so instead of picking one, I am doing both, but just answering for the ones I feel I really can give answers to!
favorite thing about them
G1: Funny enough… His rivalry with Blaster. Just Imagine this single dad having to listen to EVERY SINGLE decepticon Comm unit, take care of his kids, and the only thing that he has to blow steam (not counting killing autobots- plus other stuff I’ll explain later) is making this red DJ know he is better than him. I love a good petty king.
IDW: … Wow, I am, where to beging? I know I am missing all the early stuff, but… Gosh, It kills me how loyal he is to the decepticon goal… I just… There is something so soft in IDW Soundwave that I don’t know how to describe.… He is admirable, and so noble, while still being that piece of scrap I love to pieces, you get it? I can’t even-
least favorite thing about them
G1: … Dont know, pal. Classics does no wrong.
IDW: … Okey, So I wouldn’t say that I 'don't like' this next point, but rather that it deeply pains me in ways I am no sure I can explain… but it is the fact that he doesn’t like music… And I understand why and…. idk man… makes me sad.
favorite line
G1:… About EVERYTHING that dude says is music to my ears, so I can't choose... but honestly? those moments when he is talking with one of the cassettes and he sounds a bit anxious????? YES
IDW: Dont think I have one for him in IDW… yet…
brOTP
G1:… Blaster…. Okey… OKEY, I know I said I loved their rivalry… But HEAR ME OUT!!… What if they were friends?…. and that’s why I have my roomates au
IDW: … I really like to think he and Cosmos are amica endura….
OTP
Okey, so… Is the same person in every continuity, but for different reason, (Except TFA I don’t know how I would work out that ship in that show… yet…)
G1: … Is Jazz… Jazz/Soundwave.… While I see TFP Jazzwave as reluctant allies to enemies to lovers… G1 Is just lovers who pick oposite sides, are angry at eachother, but, hey, “we are still meeting in the fountain for cuddles at 3?” “Soundwave: will be there.” just…Soft cross faction lovers… who meet each other in private just to relax form a long day of work....
IDW: Also Jazzwave, but this is a more mischievous take I guess? this is the we are enemies but I really admire/hate how good you are at what you are doing. No prewar connection, just uncontrollable crossfaction admiration that cannon could only wish to live up to. Is Jazz being attracted to danger and Soundwave hating not having the answers. Is each of them being a puzzle the other can only dream of solving.… Oh, but if they just got the chance…
nOTP
Soundwave with either Starscream or Prowl... This applies to all continuities and almost all of my favorite characters.
random head canon
G1: Some times Soundwave hacks radio stations just to see how many people enjoy his music... He, Jazz and Blaster also have a special comm link that is ONLY for music, they send each other remixes all the time.
IDW: ... Look, the problem here is that I wouldn't know if it was cannon, most of what I know of IDW comes from fandom osmosis... but always though IDW Soundwave to be the type of bot to get easily overwhelmed, be it by emotional or external in put. Thats why he prefers dealing with communications and screens... It is easier to deal with.
unpopular opinion
G1: ...idk, im sorry 🥺
IDW: Look... I feel like people are always describing IDW Soundwave in particular as a brick wall in sense of emotions... and Like, I AM SORRY, but that dude cries under his mask all the time, am I really the only one that gets those vibes?? like yeah, he keeps his EM field close to his chest and all that, but behind that mask? he is listening to everything people say about him, and he is really volatile. If he takes that mask off productivity goes down 70% because he HAS to make sure his emotions are not visible, and it takes a lot out of him to do so.
song i associate with them
G1:
IDW:

Amnesiac Starscream au. The autobots are struggling mentally seeing how big Skyfire is. The jet twins are probably super happy to have another flyer there to get more pointers with flying. Did Bumblebee ask for a flight with Skyfire.
Yeah lmao, everyone is Shooketh except for Starscream and anyone old enough to remember Cybertron before the war (like Ultra Magnus if he ever sees him, and maaaybe Ratchet?). Shuttles are massive, capable of interstellar travel while supporting the lives of several passengers for months at a time. They're enormous. Skyfire is just a hulking giant but he's such a gentle spark, he's just a big teddy bear 💖
Also, yes. Bumblebee probably asked and may have gotten his wish: Skyfire insisted that Starscream ride back with him, and if the two lovebirds somehow aren't deadset on some alone time (or just don't want the others to have to deal with Sentinel on the way back) they let them ride along too

Sweet Dreams are Made of Screams Ch.3
You awoke with a start, gasping as you found yourself back in your bed, heart racing and sweat beading down your forehead, yet you were clearly where you had last been when you fell asleep.
Rising from your mattress, you looked down at yourself, seeing that you were back to your human self. Or...were you your human self in that...dream?
You couldn’t really remember, suddenly feeling quite tense. “God, what WAS that?” you said aloud, rubbing your temple.
You checked your phone and saw yet more requests for Starscream popping into your messages. You flopped back on the bed with a groan. It seemed that you wouldn’t be getting away from him, whether it be your dreams OR wide awake!
Yet what you had experienced…
Throughout the day, you found yourself unable to focus on anything. Whether it be at school/college/work or in your free time, the Decepticon would not leave your brain. That wasn’t really new, the constant requests for him made his presence in your mind a regular, yet this was different. You didn’t know how to explain it, but Starscream seemed to make his presence known. As in, ridiculous as it sounds, like he’s always over your shoulder, watching you.
A fictional character was somehow transcending reality and subtly manipulating you into doing his bidding. Or was it yours, as, despite the feeling of eyes on the back of your head, you have been wanting to write about him for some time.
Yet unlike before, something had changed. True, that dream you had left you rather flustered (not to mention quite wet that morning), but also...inspired? Was that the word? Well, whatever it was, it eventually managed to get you going on churning out more reader insert entries. You went through your requests, going down the list of bots and scenarios when finally, one snags your attention.
Vampire!Starscream X Reader.
Well, that was quite the challenge, wasn’t it?
Sure, you had experimented with that in the past, yet once again, Starscream seemed to haunt you everywhere you went. Just what was it that...that made him so difficult for you? Why couldn’t you just write something?!
It was then though that your mind went back to the dream and your...intimate encounter with your favorite version of the character. His words regarding your doubts, your insecurities regarding your ability to write for him….how all of it was true. And how, to overcome it, you had to cast aside your inhibitions.
You just had to “do”.
It was an hour later or so that you were still at your computer/laptop, trying to figure out where to go from here. You had the scenario in mind, now to build a plot off of it. So far, all you had was that it was in G1 (or at least some version of it at least. Hey, headcanons and AUs were serious business, you had learned), and that you somehow became Starscream’s vampire bride in the end. It was kinda stupid, but hey, G1 was known for equally crazy shit.
The only problem was where to start.
True, you knew what the end result would be, but how to get there was the question. Better yet, how the hell do robots turn into vampires?! Ugh! You couldn’t do this! You just couldn’t! You were doomed for failure! You slapped your hand against your head, trying to keep yourself from getting too frazzled. But how were you going to do this?
It was then that you heard something. Or rather, thought something.
‘Shockwave this, Shockwave that. All I ever hear about is how great Shockwave is!’
You knew that quote! Starscream’s brigade! It grew to be one of your favorites of G1! But what did that have to do with…wait a minute. Shockwave...Shockwave was left on Cybertron but was also somewhat of a scientist. And there had been references to other planets and aliens in the series (hell, Season 3 had barely anything to do with Earth at that point), and there were such things as Petro Rabbits, so why couldn’t Shockwave have a collection of live specimens to study?
And you, the Reader, we’re going to be his assistant.
From there, more and more came to you, you typing like mad as you clicked and clacked the keyboard, everything just pouring out of you at once! You were doing this, you realized. Holy shit, you were doing this! On and on you wrote, getting the outline and first part done. Then came the second, third, and so on.
And when you finally gained the courage to post them (you had not submitted them quite yet, having held back), you saw that the reception was...good.
It was good.
Sure, the first part only had a few likes so far, but it seemed to be ok. Still, you didn’t get your hopes up too high. But it wasn’t long after that you found yourself aboard the abandoned ship again, only this time, there was no one in the cell. You knew well who should’ve been in there.
“S-Starscream?” You stammered, voice echoing off the walls. It was then that you felt a servo trail it’s way up your spine, causing you to nearly leap out of your skin. Turning, you saw the amused, chortling form of your favorite Starscream, clearly pleased with himself in having given you a fright. “Don’t do that to me!” you held your chest, feeling your heart beating.
“Welcome back.” The Seeker greeted. “It looks like we’re in for another eventful night.”
Your eyes widened. “We are?” You remembered last time well. How bizarre the whole situation was...but also how good it felt. How good he felt.
“Yes, you’ve been aching for another night with me, haven’t you?” He whispered in your ear, sending a chill down your back. “Don’t bother denying it. I can see into your thoughts, remember?” His eyes then began to glow red. “And I also know what you’ve written about me recently.”
“Oh, that.” Your cheeks grew red. “Yeah, well...it was my first time writing for you, and...well, I’ve never done anything with vampires before, so…” it was then that you noticed Starscream’s eyes seeming more...red than you remembered. And...and since when did he have fangs?! “The hell?!”
Starscream only chuckled. “Don’t you remember? This was from what you had written but a short time ago.”
Oh, right. “It’s…kinda stupid though, the story I mean,” you shifted nervously. “I mean, it’s not really meant to be taken seriously.”
“But,” Starscream approached you, holding your chin gently. “You DID finally face your fears, right?” You nodded. “But yet, you’re still unsure.” Sighing, you nodded. “Well,” his optics glimmered. “We’ll have to fix that, won’t we?”
You stiffened, knowing where this was going. The environment around you changed to that of the Nemesis’ brig, you in a cell with Starscream. The same position the Reader was in near the end of the story. You knew well what was about to happen, Starscream slowly backing you up against the wall. And yet not once did you tell him to back off. True, your heart was racing, yet it wasn’t entirely out of fear. No, you feared what would come next.
“Relax, my dear.” Starscream assured you. “I’ll be gentle.” He opened his mouth, revealing pronounced canines on his upper set of dentas.
You released a heavy sigh and let it happen. The Seeker bit down on your neck and into your flesh. There was slight pain, yes, yet you could stop this anytime you wanted. You let it continue. The sting from his fangs entering you lasted only a few seconds though, as there was a rushing warmth that overtook you.
“Ah, found your courage, have you?” Starscream questioned. “Well then,” he lowered his hand to your lower regions, lightly stroking it. “Shall we take things one step further?”
Honestly, you didn’t see why not.
That night, you two had another session, the Decepticon exploring and driving you crazy with his methods, you, in turn, responding in kind. Turns out a tongue savoring his spike was one of the things you did that could make him, fittingly enough, scream. And then, you woke up, a kiss bringing out of the dream once again. More requests, and yet...and yet, this time, you felt somewhat more...confident.
You decided to try out another scenario, taking your time with this one, yet not allowing anxiety to have as much of a hold over you. And, to your surprise, this Starscream x Reader fic got good reception too! True, you still wrote for all the other Autobots and Decepticons, yet the Seeker, whatever incarnation he was, proved to be some of your most popular.
Which, in turn, led to you getting more and more visits from him.
It wasn’t each night, yet sometimes, especially when you were either in the midst of writing one, or were struggling to come up with a scenario, he would appear. Luring you into the darkness to join him, allowing yourself to cast away the chains that once held you back.
And thus, you found yourself here again. The same ship, and same voice calling you. It seemed he wished to repeat how you two had met the first time.
“I know, I know...you belo-o-ng to so-omebody ne-e-w,” you heard his voice echoing all around, you recognized the song. It was an older one, one that your mother liked, remembering it from your grandmother’s vinyl collection. What was it called? Patience and Prudence’s…
“But toni-i-ght, you belong, to me…”
Ah, yes. How...oddly fitting. You followed the Seeker’s surprisingly bearable singing, listening and taking note of which direction it was coming from. What would it be tonight, you wondered. A dive into a new situation for the Reader, aka yourself, or something new? Sometimes Screamer himself came up with ideas, of which you would do, if not just to allow him to let you finish. Though you did get your revenge mostly, there were times where you were just wanting some smooth pillow talk. Starscream frankly made you exhausted. In a good way? Honestly, even now, you weren’t sure.
And yet, here you were, about to indulge him yet again.
“My honey I know, I know,” the source of the voice was close. “With the da-a-wn, that yo-o-u, will be go-o-ne,” you saw the cell, yet Starscream wasn’t confined. You couldn’t confine him now, even if you wanted to. “But tonight…” and, if you had to be honest, “You belong,” you didn’t want to. “To me.”
